Morning Devotional...
Jesus Demonstrates He Is God's Son
John 5:16-47 NLT
16So the Jewish leaders began harassing Jesus for breaking the Sabbath rules. 17But Jesus replied, "My Father never stops working, so why should I?" 18So the Jewish leaders tried all the more to kill him. In addition to disobeying the Sabbath rules, he had spoken of God as his Father, thereby making himself equal with God.
19Jesus replied, "I assure you, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. 20For the Father loves the Son and tells him everything he is doing, and the Son will do far greater things than healing this man. You will be astonished at what he does. 21He will even raise from the dead anyone he wants to, just as the Father does. 22And the Father leaves all judgment to his Son, 23so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. But if you refuse to honor the Son, then you are certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.
24"I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.
25"And I assure you that the time is coming, in fact it is here, when the dead will hear my voice--the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live. 26The Father has life in himself, and he has granted his Son to have life in himself. 27And he has given him authority to judge all mankind because he is the Son of Man. 28Don't be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God's Son, 29and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to judgment. 30But I do nothing without consulting the Father. I judge as I am told. And my judgment is absolutely just, because it is according to the will of God who sent me; it is not merely my own.
31"If I were to testify on my own behalf, my testimony would not be valid. 32But someone else is also testifying about me, and I can assure you that everything he says about me is true. 33In fact, you sent messengers to listen to John the Baptist, and he preached the truth. 34But the best testimony about me is not from a man, though I have reminded you about John's testimony so you might be saved. 35John shone brightly for a while, and you benefited and rejoiced. 36But I have a greater witness than John--my teachings and my miracles. They have been assigned to me by the Father, and they testify that the Father has sent me. 37And the Father himself has also testified about me. You have never heard his voice or seen him face to face, 38and you do not have his message in your hearts, because you do not believe me--the one he sent to you.
39"You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! 40Yet you refuse to come to me so that I can give you this eternal life.
41"Your approval or disapproval means nothing to me, 42because I know you don't have God's love within you. 43For I have come to you representing my Father, and you refuse to welcome me, even though you readily accept others who represent only themselves. 44No wonder you can't believe! For you gladly honor each other, but you don't care about the honor that comes from God alone.
45"Yet it is not I who will accuse you of this before the Father. Moses will accuse you! Yes, Moses, on whom you set your hopes. 46But if you had believed Moses, you would have believed me because he wrote about me. 47And since you don't believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?"

Whose approval do you seek? The religious leaders enjoyed great prestige in Israel, but their stamp of approval meant nothing to Jesus. He was concerned about God's approval. This is a good principle for us. If even the highest officials in the world approve of our actions and God does not, we should be concerned. But if God approves, even though others don't, we should be content.

What a surprise to see Mieka!!! A breath of fresh air! And, no, I didn't have Chinese today. Today was Mexican. And still I didn't see any Chinese in there eating Mexican. But there is always Mexicans eating Chinese! At least in Central Indiana!!
Not much going on in Indiana except a drastic drop in temperature. Our temperature dropped from 70 to 43°F in a couple of hours! And lots of wind!!! @_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@

WITTYBITTY
First of all........hello to our Mieka!
You funny bunny, you. Licking the plumbing. ;D Who else would have made us laugh at that?
You popped in and brought joy with you. <3 I'm going to see what pictures you've brought.
Speaking of JOY.......I haven't seen her here for awhile. I guess she's doing other things. I know I get times like that.
Welcome to all the newcomers. I hope to get to know you as I read your posts.
Angel wants to get to the computer now, so I'll relinquish and take my turn stretched out on the couch while I wait for the news.
Blessings, nita
QuoteJane: It is good to find those money-saving ideas. Here, a gas hot water heater is much less expensive but I know that electricity is the way to go in Oregon - it used to be really cheap years ago.
Carol I know that electric is comparitively "cheap" but anything that costs at all is more than I can afford. :-\ I just have to look for all the angles for saving $$$ and appreciate any short cuts.
Hi to all the newcomers ... and to all my friends that have been here all along <that would be Nita, for one> I think Joy is being very involved with things in Mexico. Her husband is home now and he just became a grandfather for the first time ... that has to be a monumental experience. Also, she has written me that he needs to return for more surgery -- that will be in January when he comes back to "the states" for his granddaughter's baptism -- she is also taking online lessons in Real Estate which will help her in their venture there in Mexico. All in all, I know she is busy and will be here when she is able to.
I love all y'all and will be checking in often ... I have a funeral to attend on Friday. My former neighbor passed away October 31. I will be attending the service and another neighbor has said she would like to go with me. See Y'all later ...............
Hello everyone!
And thanks to those that have already made me feel so welcome :) Im still figuring out how to navigate this site! Lots to look at here. Just wanted to say hello before I go crash for the evening. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
Hi Kittykins ... I notice you live in Sacramento ... I have "roots" there, having lived there for nearly 40 years. You will find there are many here who will welcome you with open arms ... Welcome aboard!
Hi kittykins :) Great to have you here and nice to meet you.
Greetings to all the newcomers
Jane: Yes, I do understand about any price being just too much. The entire cost of living just keeps going up too much.
Several things going on today.
Carol
What a wonderful statement in today's devotional, Etta Sue... I think it's worth repeating!

Hi Kittykins!
So glad to see you in here and so happy that our dear Mieka told you about our site! I'm looking forward to seeing your photos. By the way, I'm also an animal lover! You'll soon learn all about Geordie, my border collie!
Hi Jane... Good idea about your water heater. Mine is all automatic. It has a little computer on it that is set up by the electricity board and there's nothing I can do to change it. There are times during the day that it goes on and times that it's off and if I happen to run out of hot water, I can press a button to over ride the computer but I can only do that once in 24 hours. And the times are programmed to cause me to pay less for the bill so that's fine. I think in the almost 20 years of living here I've only clicked on that button 5 or 6 times.
Good Morning: I did  better last night and did not wake up too early this morning. I am sitting here with my :cup: of coffee.
Yesterday when I went to the doctor she was so thorough in examining my leg and knee. She put me through all kinds of moves and asked all kinds of questions, Int he xray they will be looking to see if I have Chondromalacia patella (sometimes called Runners knee) and damage to the meniscus. a common sports injury and injury to older people caused by falls among other things. You can read about it HERE (http://www.orthoseek.com/articles/chondromp.html). I will go today for the xray.
Thank you Etta Sue for the devotional. It really gives one something to think about. I used to be so aware of seeking Man's approval, but that was before I was saved. Now I only seek God's approval, and the need to be like Jesus. It is not that I don't care what people think of me is is that Will they see Jesus in me.?
Welcome to all the Wittybitty and to KittyKins. We look forward to hearing more from each of you and you get to know us and we get to know you. I am in Northern California, just above Eureka. It is good to have another Californian in our midst.

Hello, there, everyone! I'll say hi from Karma as well; the Internet has decided to not cooperate with us at home yet once again...
Bye for now!

For those of you who like a good quick
cup of soup or bowl of soup,
I posted my very own made up recipe for
Potato Soup here (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=4985.msg91930#msg91930).
Check out the secret ingredient!! <3 <3
Oh, yes! I posted an awesome Indiana sunset in the Gallery. Eye Candy for the soul!!!
This is a cold day here too Etta Sue. The Temp is 0*C or 32*F. It is very windy and damp cold. Brrrrrrrr 5 months till spring. We had a power outage last night. these are common in the area we live in. As a result the alarms didn't go off and the girls were all late. Melaura has to stay home, I didn't relish the thought of driving that far this am. I guess we will have to back up the clocks with a wind up type!
John is in VA today. Warm there he says. To this anything is warm.
Got to run
Love All

Howdy, Y'all! It is pretty cool here today, too, but after all those days in the 80s we are spoiled, I think. ;)
All my plans for the next two days went up in a puff of smoke this morning. My monthly painting group meeting was cancelled because of the death of the hostess' husband's grandmother. And this was going to be the first one I'd get to attend in months! :( But these things happen, and it will be all right.
I won't likely be around tomorrow, as we have to go to Dodge City for the family meeting about Beth. I do hope she is progressing well.
I sanded off my fingerprints yesterday? Got any safes ya want cracked? :D I used only sheets of sandpaper folded in fourths and my hands to sand down those doors, so I have very tender fingertips today. ^-^ The stuff I put on them still wasn't dry this morning, so Darrel put them outdoors in the sun, but it is quite cool. I hope I can lightly sand them and put another coat of finish on them before long.
Oh, my! I must get going!! See you later!!
Judy, it's zero here right now. Just went and looked. Avon had a little battery clock for 4.99 Want one?
Oh, Janet, sore! I have to get my bedroom window frame sanded and painted before winter.
I missed the garbage collection today so have to wait for next week now.
Etta Sue, looking forward to your sunsets! Love what you capture where you live.
Hey ya all :) Hope you are having a good day/morning/evening/night
I'm off to get some work done but I'll be back in a bit :)
Good afternoon all!!

Good afternoon all!!
Good Afternoon, Geegee! (Still love that kitty!)
Here's one that Larry put on our site a long time ago and we've not played it enough so here we are and let's all sing heartily!

The Banner of the Cross (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/the-banner-of-the-cross.mid)
(Click to hear music)
"For those who fear You, You have raised a banner." Psalm 60:4
Words: Daniel W. Whittle, in The Gospel Choir, by Ira Sankey and James McGranahan (New York: Biglow & Main, 1885).
Music: James McGranahan
There's a royal banner given for display
To the soldiers of the King;
As an ensign fair we lift it up today,
While as ransomed ones we sing.
Refrain
Marching on, marching on,
For Christ count everything but loss!
And to crown Him King, we'll toil and sing,
'Neath the banner of the cross!
Though the foe may rage and gather as the flood,
Let the standard be displayed;
And beneath its folds, as soldiers of the Lord,
For the truth be not dismayed!
Refrain
Over land and sea, wherever man may dwell,
Make the glorious tidings known;
Of the crimson banner now the story tell,
While the Lord shall claim His own!
Refrain
When the glory dawns—'tis drawing very near,
It is hastening day by day—
Then before our King the foe shall disappear,
And the cross the world shall sway!
Refrain

Hi everyone. I have been gone most of the day. This was our retiree's bi-monthly luncheon and we meet a a Fire Mountain buffet place. The food is very good and the price is very reasonable but I still feel stuffed. So Pat won't have to fix a meal this evening.
I came back from there and stopped at the library. I went from there to the church for Calvin Cove to sing with and play for the older adults. I also stopped twice at the hardware store to get copper wire that Pat needs for her Christmas tree crafts. I didn't realize she needed two spools of the wire so I initally just gotten one. When I got home I immediately laid down and took a nap. Think it will be early to bed for me.
I have another busy day tomorrow as we have our special Veteran's Day event at the senior center. Following that we have our PC User Group meeting.
Someone sent me a very nice Veteran's Day link that I want to share with you all. There is a really neat song and some very moving photos. Here is the link: http://www.beforeyougo.us
It is good to see new folks posting here on CP.
I have enjoyed all of the postings today and from yesterday.
I'm really late posting today as I have been under the weather and my apologies for the brevity of the post, but it's just God bless to everyone and I hope I'm in better form tomorrow.
Anthony.
Here is another link to what is wrong with my leg/knee. (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000452.htm)
Hi, friends,
I'm so glad to see everyone. Today was a good day and I got lots of things done. Also, the truck is fixed and back in my possession. It had BETTER stay fixed for a while! I've gotta recover from that bill. :o
At any rate, y'all have a good evening.
Ruth Ann
Hello again!
Larry, thanks for that link, I enjoyed it so much and will be sending it on to others, too. I think we cannot show enough love and support for our veterans, God bless them every one!
Anthony, sorry you're not feeling "in the pink." (I want to see what Mieka can do with that line!"
Mieka, where are you today? Come back, come back, wherever you are! We are ready for your questions!!
Ruth Ann, glad you got your pickup back, and am praying for a "windfall from heaven" to provide the funds for the payment of the bill. <3
Not much to :yakyakyak: about tonight, and don't want to bore anone, so will get off here and do something else for a while. Darrel has gone to the men's ministries meeting at church.
I just lost my post. Drat and double Drat.
I didn't work this afternoon 'cause it took so long at the hospital to get my knee xrayed. I came home and laid down for about an hour which is something I do not get to do very often. I need to clean my house but I will wait until tomorrow afternoon or Saturday afternoon.

As we bring this New Every Morning to a close, let's think on our troops wherever they may be on November 11. Let's remember them in prayer. Let's also talk about whatever we want to remember about the past and why we have freedom today.
Do you have any relatives who fought in either the First or Second World Wars? Let's remember what they fought for.
