hehehe.  Janet, at my mom's house, there is still an abundance of evidence of when I was learning ot write!  She has pine paneling, so it's not like it would just wipe off or soemthing.  It's fun to look at now, and fortunately, most of it is covered with furniture or pictures.

We also have some early artwork by Master Travis, already, as well.

::)

Could y'all please say a prayer for Bernard's mom?  She lost her brother to cancer last night.  He was a believer, so he is in a much better place, but even that doesn't take away all the pain.

Oh yea, and Nard, if you see this --

A very quick run in to tell you that I have received emails and I wll be answering as soon as possible.

My 88 yr. old mom took a nasty fall yesterday--severe head trauma and we spent about 6 hrs. in the hospital--till around 3 am; so I am a little tired.

Praise the Lord --the CAT Scan showed no concussion and she looks well.

Have to pick up antibiotics and cream for head --about 14 stitches and make sure she is set for the day; but I will return later.

Please take care and as always,

Love in Christ,

Joyce

Thank you Pat for the devotional......  At my work we had to stand for 2 minutes while we listened to Flander's Fields...   We are grateful for the people who gave their lives so our country could be FREE.

It reminds me also of Jesus who gave His life that we all can go FREE, and give us ETERNAL LIFE.   Praise God.

Love Ruthie

5.10 p.m. U.K.

Pat   What did I do today? Not a lot I am afraid. I'm not feeling too good, nothing serious, just under the weather.  Iceland Foods delivered my grocery order this morning and I spent time putting it away into the freezer, fridge and onto the shelves etc., As you can imagine with two cats and a little Yorkie to feed there were lots and lots of pet food cans.
I did some hand washing but it is hanging round the house as it has drizzled with rain all day.  Then I went for a quick ride to the post box...the one behind this house.  I didn't venture across the road, my reflexes are not working well.

My daughter Helen phoned me.  She had a bad dose of flu and now the doctor's are very worried that she may have to go back into hospital as her breathing is much too low.  She is again  on  very high doses of steroids and anti-biotics. Se's been a fighter all her life due to chronic bronchial asthma (no she has never smoked a cigarette) but lately other things are happening in  her body and I pray the Lord to keep her safe.  Her family needs her.  She doesn't live near us although we did live near until shortly after Tom,3rd son) was born. I miss her so much..so very much...and my darling grandsons too.
.
Christopher is going out from work but is intent on returning early to see Pat's Wonderful Post on Colonel John McCrae.,  also he has some more photographs to post of his visit to the French and Belgium War Graves.

I have some reading to catch up on this evening and may finish a card I've been making.
Good-evening from England.
Jenny .

Pat

Jenny, what an interesting day!

Do you remember when you didn't have a fridge or freezer?  When I lived in Ireland, we had a cold cupboard with a marble shelf.  That marble shelf was my fridge and there was a vent in the wall from the cupboard to the outside so that it was always getting chilly air in there.  It was awful if someone left the door open!

I never had a fridge when I lived in the UK but everyone has them now I realize.

This is an OH WOW message.

I notices that a dear friend of mane had called while I was taking John to work yesterday,  (I just checked my callers list) so I called her back.  Yesterday afternoon one of our church mrmbers, fell about 20feet out of a tree.  When the ambulance arrived he went into convulsions.  The ambulance attendants said that it was a sympton of a broken back.  Jaynie was called and she started calling all the prayer warriers.  Her prayer was that when he arrived at the hospital that the doctors would not find any broken bones.  This man was surrounded and blanketted in prayer.  When he arrived at the hospital the doctors found NOTHING wrong. My friend is now home!   There are no broken bones, and above that there are no bruises.  Jaynie and I both believe God healled on the trip to the hospital.   He is now up walking around again, wirth some soreness.

I didn't ask what he was doing up the tree?  I assume cutting it down for fire wood.

Jenny

Hi Pat,
Yes My Nanna had a larder cupboard like that.  I lived with her in Lincolnshire when young.  It did keep things nice and cold. Hazlet and cold meats etc,.Nothing needed to keep that long, we all ate well in those days. Proper food and not this pre packed plastic stuff.. Yes?

Thanks for saying I had an interesting day.......I always feel so inadequate. God Bless you sister.

Love Jenny X

Nita

Good morning all.  Just a quick hello.  Getting ready to hop in the shower and then have to do run some errands.

I'll be back later.  love, nita

JUDYB.......wonderful WOW message!! Praise God.

Yup, winter's here.  About an hour ago I looked out and it was just starting to snow.  Within about 10 minutes there was a dusting over everything.  But now it's changed to rain and all evidence is gone, although the temperature is down to 30.

Here in the US Veterans' Day is to honor all veterans, both living and dead.  Those who fell in wartime are honored specifically on Memorial Day, the last Monday in May.

It's also a big day for me - my #2 son's birthday.  Hard to believe he's 48 already.

I'm back from the Veteran's Day bean feed.  The food was good, but I was sorely disappointed that they didn't even ask the veterans present to stand, or anything!!  The program honored the American Legion baseball team, the Girls State delegates, the Boys State Delegates, and left the veterans out!! >:( :'(  I don't mind the others being recognized, but after all, this is Veteran's Day!! :-\

Okay, I have vented my frustration, now I'm going to watch TBN a while.

JOYCE~I am sorry to hear of your mother's fall and subsequent injury, but thankful that nothing really serious occured and she will recover.  With you TLC it will be an even quicker recovery.  However any sort of trauma to the elderly is not good!   :-\

Wonderful WOW report from JUDY B.   :o

Hi, NITA ... how was it jumping in the shower?   :P

My doctor's office called this morning to say that the MRI results show "normal activity" so... just thought I'd let y'all know.  I never figured it would be anything else.  I am still wearing the heart monitor (perfectly normal, too) and will go for the treadmill test Thursday morning early.  Just reporting in.   I've already been to the Great Physician and all this other stuff is confirmation.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

WOOHOO, JANE!!  That's the report I fully expected!!  Thank you, Jesus!

Checking by in--

THanks for all of your concerns.

She is doing so well.

Everyone just marvels at her healing process and how strong she is.

She does walk a lot ; so they say that keeps her in shape.

I will be heading over to remove "turban" and clean the area and put new medication on the stiches.  She is all set up
with the antibiotics.

Her biggest concern is to make her hair look pretty for a Thanksgiving luncheon on Thursday!!!  Have a pretty scarf already and will fix her hair with bangs so she will feel better.

Her enegy is boundless!!!!

Praise the Lord for HIS goodness in this matter.

I will be heading for gyno check up (follow up from my hysterectomy last year) and the ever popular mammography.
They are still watching what looks suspicious findings (whatever that means)

Just gave the whole doctor's procedures tomorrow to the LORD.  Know HE will handle it in the way that HE has destined me for and with it will give me the strength to cope; so why should I think or worry about it??

Dear ones, you are so much in my thoughts; my prayers to the ones in need.

I do love your daily chit chats--they means so much.

Take care and as always,

Love in CHrist,

Joyce

Hi everyone.  We have had a truly beautiful day here in Georgia and it has warmed up again this afternoon.  We are thankful for that as a couple of nights ago my wife fixed a meatloaf that ran over in the oven and my daughter this afternoon was fixing something and Pat decided to go ahead and clean the oven while it was hot.  She put it on the self-clean cycle and the food residue flamed up and created a terrible smell in the house and we have had the doors and windows open to get the burned smell out.  Fortunately, my daughter discovered the flames before they did any damage and turned the stove off.

This was my day with the Calvin Cove folks and it was delightful.  A couple of the ladies apparently can't wait until I get there each week and worry that I won't show up so that they can sing with me.  What a blessing all these folks are with their wonderful smiles.  This was also our monthly seniors get together at our local senior center.  We had a very nice lunch and time together.

Pat, thank you for the devotional thoughts today and for the photo essay and links.

Etta Sue, hope Jerry got good news from his eye doctor.  You certainly are a fine and devoted friend to Jerry to help him be where he needs to be at this difficult period in his life.

Marilyn, it sounds like Bebe has more sense in knowing when to turn off the TV than probably a lot of us do.   :D :D  That 80 gigs of space will quickly fill up if you take a lot of photos with that new camera.

Janet, that was a very nice poem on Veteran's Day.  We owe our veteran's so much.

Karmat, sorry to hear of the loss of Bernard's uncle.  We are always saddened at the loss of a family member.

Jeanne, very nice graphic for both the USA and Canadian Veteran recognition days.  Just keep that snow up north.  We haven't even had a frost here yet but think it will frost and freeze here in a few days.

Joyce, the falls are so frightening when older folks are involved.  Isn't it wonderful that we have tests like the CAT scan that can show whether there is any internal damage.  The stitches will heal.

Jenny, sorry to hear of the additional problems for your daughter.  It sounds like she has had way more than her share of health problems in her life.

JudyB, indeed a time for praise that your friend was healed and has no lasting injury from the fall.

Chris, that is a great old hymn that you posted.  I enjoyed listening to it as I wrote this posting.

Jane, those are the kind of reports we all like to hear.  Thanks for letting us know.

Chris & Margit Saunders

Ria my Sister,
when one is depressed all the gloomies gang up on you, and you feel as if you are surrounded by death and sickness, it's a fact.
But if we can only catch a glimpse of Jesus smiling upon us, then all the gloom lifts like a mist blown away by a strong wind.
Try to look upon the anniversary of your first husband's passing as a good day, celebrate the life you both shared, then let him rest in peace, for he would not want you to remember him with a sad, gloomy, feeling, but  I feel sure he would want you to be happy, with the grand, new, man that your heavenly Father gifted to you.
Look up Sister , look up, this life although never entirely free from heartache, can be a most wonderful life too, a life given by Father God to be lived to it's fullest, go out and help someone worse off than yourself, we are saved for good works, and in doing these comes our greatest joy, go and help some poor soul, and you will feel that, yes, life can be good, just  by seeing how you can make someone smile!
Praying with you ,
Chris.

joyce robson

Janet, how sad--Veteran's day and we forget them--I see you are just settling down so I will not make you upset again!!

Yes, we should get upset--they are our heros who fought for us and our freedom.

OK , I will stop ---

Many the "guys" will comment on this oversight.

Thanks, Janie, for your kind words and I am glad you shared that wonderful, totally expected, good medical news.

Rachelle, I think that you are a fairly newcomer and I welcome you--I don't get here to post often but try to
read the postings when I can.

Judy, your young one is in my thoughts and prayers--it seems the evil one really knows how to play with our "insecurities" doesn't he; that's why he is the greatest manipulator of lies , and I will not even give him any more of my time.

his time is so limited and he is so defeated at the cross but he still trys to play "mind games".

Fill our mind with passages of the Bible in times of his attack and just keep going in the faith.

THe glorious end is so heavenly---

I answered a couple of emails and now will go on to prayer
forums ---

Love in Christ,
Joyce

Papa John

Good afternoon.  I think I missed reporting in here yesterday.  I am doing fine but still don't have the strength that I normally have.

Yesterday I had an appointment with the cardiologist.  He thought I was doing really good and said I was really lucky to still be around.  Today I had an appointment with my primary care physician.  He said I must have had a lot of people praying for me.

It is good to read all the posts.  Pat I enjoyed seeing the pictures of Col. John McCrae and the poem In Flander's Field.   We visited a WW I American cemetery in the Flander's province of Belgium years ago on the 11th of November.  There were poppies growing all around and American jet planes flew over while we were there.

Yes Papa John There were a LOT of people praying, Perhaps more than we here even know.  He is faithful and as our dear meiks said "your house is very big and isn't finished yet".

A half hour appointment with the pediatritian turned into 2 hours.  The outcome?  More than I can put here except to say all the ailments are as a result of an incident in 2000, and a comment last March she went into depression and post tramatic stress disorder.  We have a long road ahead, we are tryuing a med to help her through this cycle.  The doctor is arranging counselling and there everything MUST come out.  Please pray that the organization I am going to will have a Christian counsellor on staff.

This day started with snow, turned to rain and now is very dark and overcast.  I agree with Ria I do not like this weather.

John is driving through Knoxville about now.  TN is such a beautiful part of the country, We love the trip down through there.

Well I have to close for now, supper to prepare and such

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ...........

Yes, our Lord did in fact die for the sins of all mankind.  But the unbelievers have said......"Ya, sure, anyone could die, and it could be said that he died for your sins."  And we then tell them with proven assurance, yes, this is true, but no man  ever rose from the grave as did Jesus Christ after He was dead and in the tomb for three days.   Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ defeated death, by rising from the grave, and in so doing, died for the sins for all who would but believe in Him.
