We live in the sight of God - but we aren't always aware of it

Morning Devotional...

The Blessedness of Confession.

Psalm 32:1-5.
"Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.  Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.  When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long.  For day and nioght Your hand was heavy upon me; my vitality was turned into the drought of summer.  I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden.  I said, 'I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,' and You forqave the iniquity of my sin."

The psalmist contrasts two conditions - the condition before he confessed his sin and the condition after he confessed it.  What a difference!  When he kept silence (didn't confess), his whole physical and mental being suffered - "my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long . . . hand heavy upon me . . . my vitality turned into the drought of summer."

Then, when he finally "spilled the beans" and admitted his sin - what a contrast!  He says the Lord "forgave the iniquity of my sin!"  He became one of the blessed "whose transgression is forgiven" and "whose sin is covered."  Oh the blessedness of reconciliation with our holy God!

The apostle John said basically the same thing.  He said, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Oh tell it all to the Lord Who already knows it but loves you in the Savior!  Oh what a relief it is!

Jesus Paid It All
(Click to hear music)

Thy Name is as ointment poured forth.
Song of Solomon 1:3

Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow.
Isaiah 1:18

Words: Elvina M. Hall, 1865
Music: John T. Grape

I hear the Savior say,
'Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all.'

Refrain
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim,
I'll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calv'ry's Lamb.

Refrain

And now complete in Him
My robe His righteousness,
Close sheltered 'neath His side,
I am divinely blest.

Refrain

Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone,
Can change the leper's spots
And melt the heart of stone.

Refrain

When from my dying bed
My ransomed soul shall rise,
"Jesus died to my soul to save,"
Shall rend the vaulted skies.

Refrain

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
I'll lay my trophies down
All down at Jesus' feet.

Refrain

Hey guys  Haven't managed to get on much today, as another message board that I mod has been having some serious problems with a troll all day  We finally got rid of them though after the admin figured out how to ban IP's.

I hope you had a wonderful day everyone

Good morning CP.  Yep, it' s Monday morning here too. ;D

I need to finish up here and get my garbage cans down by the road.  I usally do it Sunday evening, but forgot.

Pat, thanks for the info on Pete's Pond.  I didn't look at their blog.  That must be quite an endeaver, just to keep it up and running.  It sure is a treat for us on the other end.

I seldom "shout", but I was wondering.......where do you get your little gif files that some are posting there?

This is the day that the Lord has made.  He knows exactly what will come into each of our lives today.  He knows who we will come in contact with, what He can do for them through us, he knows what testing we will go through, and even if we'll pass the test.   He loves us, watches over us, and oh, He knows how to be a Father.  Those who know Him are so blessed.  We are in the world, but not of the world.  You are all pretty peculiar. haha

The plumber and his helpers will be back here either today or tomorrow.  I know they'll snake the line further and see where the blockage is.  I keep finding things new that they did.  They even put new parts inside the tank of my toilet!  Bless their hearts.  I am so grateful and humbled.   I remember once before when I felt this.  A church was moving, or closing, but anyway, one of the members called me and told me to call the pastor, that they were giving their stove oil away.  He came and filled my barrel with stove oil!  That's the way I feel about what these guys have done for me.  And all because they love God and want to serve Him.

I can't remember what anyone said for yesterday, so I'll just say hi to everyone and get my day going.  Blessings, nita

:-[ Nita - what are you doing for water?  That's distressing!  O Father, help her get her water today.

No rain this morning just FOG.

I have been cleaning out my file cabinet and have only gotten through 1 folder, all the bills I have paid for the last two year. I really need get that clean out. what a mess those files are in.

I tripped again this morning abut when I fell I managed to roll and not hit that knee again. I have to go up a step to get into the kitchen and into my bedroom.  The living room is lower.

Well time to go outside and bring Happy in for his vigil at the fence watching for the cat next door.

Janet ~ Can't wait to hear the news from Beth.  I know you and Darrell will be happy to have the mobile home cleaned and the new tenants all moved in and settled.....I just read about Beth.  Good news.  But Beth and you have certainly had a lot on your plate all her life.  I will pray for her continuing positive attitude.  That will mean a lot to all involved.

Al ~ Glad you saw the movie "Dreamers".  I agree....at least a two kleenex movie.  And isn't it wonderful to view a movie in a theater with no profanity, no violence, no who-dunits?  A great, feel good movie.

Marilyn ~ I really had to laugh to read about your Holy Dog.  Inky likes to chew on corners.  Not exactly chew but bite...enough to leave a mark.  Even got my cordless telephone!

Teresa Dawn ~ Isn't that weird that when you go to the movies, it is dark but I don't know of anyone who views TV in the dark...they say it isn't good for your eyes.  Plus the sound in the theater is sometimes deafening!  But put "Dreamers" on your list to purchase in the future.  You won't regret it!

Larry ~ Cool here today, too.  It WAS predicted that snow was coming Wednesday but I just looked at my WeatherBug and rain tomorrow, sunny Wednesday.  But it is only 43°F right now at 10:30 a.m.

Ruth Ann ~ What a cute name for a cat and appropriate, too.  I wonder what my kitties would do if I took them to someone elses house.  Ali Cat gets car sick and hasn't been in a car for 4 years!  Inky hasn't been in my car but probably her previous owners car when she was dumped!

Carol ~ About the time my sciatic nerve is better, I go to church and stand for 4 hours or more.  But yesterday, I sat more than usual and not nearly as bad today.  Still there but I don't have to stand up, wait and then walk.  But I am still taking Ibuprofen...I am thinking that is helping, too.

JudyB ~ I am glad that I don't heat with wood but also glad that I purchased my electric fireplace.  It really feels good when I turn it on after I get out of bed.  I wish I had an electric heater here at the computer.  I get chilled sitting here.  I may check a small one out the next time I am at Lowe's or Home Depot.

Nita ~ Plumbing problems are a problem!  Sure hope you get things fixed soon.  Before I moved in here, I had the bathtub replaced buy a reputable business.  Six months later, Jerry crawled under the house to add some phone jacks and under the tub was a puddle of water and a big spray of water from under the tub.  I called the man back and where he soldered the two cold water pipes together, he didn't get it all around.  So I had water spewing for 6 months.  Do you think they gave me compensation for electric or anything?  NO!

Jane ~ I know Oregon coastline is a very damp area but do you live in a wooded area as well?  I have noticed around here lately that a lot of homes have moss/mold on the north side.  Never saw that when houses weren't so sound against outside weather.  You know, when the curtains would blow on the inside with the windows shut.  People don't breathe fresh air in their houses like I did when I was little.

Pat ~ It seems today everyone is reminding me of a story of my own.  Sweeper story...I had an old Electrolux and suddenly on a Saturday, it quit on me.  My husband had the car so I walked to Sears and bought a new sweeper.  I called my husband and told him on his way home for lunch to stop at Sears and get my sweeper.  Later, we discovered it was the cord on the Electrolux.  We replaced the cord and it worked for several more years at the cabin my folks had.  But I got a new sweeper!

The 60 Chix luncheon was fun.  We had 10 of us this time.  One new one besides Kitty.  Then Kitty and I went to Bluffton...a two hour drive.  Her sister is cute in her ways.  Very detailed.  Then the two hour drive back.  I went in Kitty's house and she gave me a bunch, I mean bunch of HP Photo Copying paper.  I really haven't printed any pictures on photo paper because the last time I did, they didn't look good.  But now I have a better camera, so better pictures and a new printer.  They are fantastic photos.  I think I have created a monster.  Kitty has the matte cutting tools so now I am wanting to purchase some matte board and make me some mattes for my photos!  Then frame them.  Now if I could only find some reasonable (cheap) nice looking frames.

Tonight is Photography Guild....I am anxious to see four of my photos on a huge overhead screen!

Hi everyone.  I have managed to use up the morning but want to post before I get started on some other projects such as lunch and probably an afternoon nap.

We have another beautiful day with some slight chance of rain.  Today is the housekeeper day and the lawn people have already been here and gone.  It is nice to have the entire house clean at one time.

Yesterday after church we went to this new place that Pat and I had gone about 10 days earlier.  They had a lovely Sunday buffet, including homemade omelets.  They also had Bananas Foster for dessert but this little farm boy didn't realize that is what the banana sauce was intended for.  I will know next time.  We had 10 go together from the church.

This is going to be the week for eating out.  On Wednesday we are going with friends to Cracker Barrel.  Then on Thursday I have been invited to have dinner at Macaroni Grill with the board members of the computer learning center and our area representative who is coming in town to attend our 10th anniversary celebration on Friday.  The director of the Senior Center is putting on a banquet for the SeniorNet Learning Center Volunteers, which will be catered by Outback Steakhouse.  No dieting this week.

Etta Sue, we have lots of things with cat teeth marks on them, including most of the cords.  I once had a set of ear buds, which are a headset.  I accidently left them on the bed one afternoon and when I went back into the bedroom the buds had neatly been severed from the wire.  Our blinds almost all have teeth marks on them on the lower slates.  Etta Sue, I have a neat little portable (foldable) chair that I took to the "Y" so I could have a place to sit down when I needed to do so.  It was surprisingly comfortable and perhaps you could find something like that to take to church with you so you could limit your standing as much as possible.

Marilyn, you are certainly going to have to be careful with all those falls.  You certainly don't want a broken bone, much less a sprained knee.

Nita, it sounds like the men were very thorough when they tried to fix your plumbing problems.  Hope they can get them fixed shortly.

Guess I had better sign off for now.

Hi everyone ...  ;D

I'm just stopping by (as usual) but noticed Etta Sue's question:

Yup ... there are trees all around my area ... big, tall, beautiful pine, cedar, fir, ash ... also other trees in my yard and my neighbors' yards ... there is a neat wooded area just behind this mobile home park.  All that and the ocean nearby as well -- how can you beat that?   ;D
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

We have guests at our house, the Murphree Hotel.  Old friends who worked with us for awhile when we were in Papua New Guinea.  I think they will be leaving tomorrow.  Yesterday after church we took them out to La Paz, a great Mexican restaurant.

Last night we had a special service for 17 college and university Presidents who are having a meeting at Lipscomb University.  They are Christian schools associated with churches of Christ.  At the close of the service we had them all come up front and we laid hands on them and prayed for them in their important work.

Today is a kind of dreary cloudy day.  Looks like we will have some rain.  I hope so because we are very dry.

Isaiah 55:10-11  As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,  so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Janet

Good afternoon/evening, friends.  I am again very tired.  I just got home a little while ago with Beth.  And I must say I am very disappointed that she isn't able to do more for herself.  I guess I just had my hopes/expectations too high.  Well, at least she will soon have some proper shoes and an ankle brace.

On the way home, she needed a bathrrom, so I stopped, and it was all I could manage to get her out of the car, into the building, help her in the restroom and get her back in the car.  Her legs stiffened up straight in front of her and refused to bend at the knees.  Have you ever tried to help a person sit or stand with stiff legs?  It is VERY hard. :'(

When we got back into town we went by the drug store to pick up meds, and right next door to the druggist to exchange her wheelchair.  They had hers repaired, so we switched them out.

Also, Darrel had more bad news.  The gas company came by sometime and removed the gas meter; and not only that---they took the pipe right out of the ground!!  Now they want $500.00 to put it back!!  He asked them what they did with his pipe, and they said they would bring him an old rusty one.  :tickedoff:   :tickedoff:  grumble, gripe.  I just have to think, this, too, shall pass.  :uglystupid:  So it is costing us a lot more to get his mobile home ready for occupancy than we figured.  Drat.

I will be back later, maybe I will be more encouraged by then.  At least I hope I will.

This morning my son called to tell me that his father in law  had cut off some of his fingers using a scroll saw. The little finger was cut completely off  the ring finger  at the knuckle what just hanging there and the middle finger was cut real bad too. they sewed them back on and he was in the hospital for a few days came home yesterday. It a longer story but this is sufficient enough to tell you so that we can all pray for him.

I finally got my trampoline put together with the help of a gal from my Tai Chi class that is my neighbor.

Larry it is a good thing I have strong bones and haven't broken any yet with all these falls but my knee is already so messed up that I don't know what they will do with it. I don't want surgery but I'll take all the physical therapy they want to give me.

Oh Janet so much to deal with the trailer and Beth's  illness. Is she eligible for some kind of other help that you? There must be someplace where help is available since she is on disability now.

Hope all is well with everyone.  I've gotta ton of work to get ton today but I'll check back in in a bit. :)

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I may have found the reason I've felt so low the last few weeks - my anemia is back. so, I suppose the doc will need to keep me on iron capsules indefinitely. He thought maybe I could do without them, but it must be something my body really needs.

The GOOD news is my cholesterol is only 125 and I got a good blood sugar average, too.

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Ruth Ann, good for you on those cholesterol numbers!  I got my results and mine is 312, down from 358 four months ago.  My other numbers were all good except my potassium is a bit low as a result of taking the diruetic every day, so I need to take more potassium.  My doctor's nurse called today to tell me it (chol.) was high, but I had already gotten my results.  I told her at least I'm going in the right direction!  ;)

They weather man says 50 mph winds and temps down to 17 tomorrow night, so we had to go in and take the compressor and blow out all the water lines at the trailer. >:( :(  We surely don't want frozen and burst pipes on top of all the other stuff.  And all because the stupid gas people stole the gas pipe right out of the ground!!  GRRRR.  I know, I know, bless those who spitefully use you; bless and curse not.  I'm really trying, Lord.  Help me, please.  :-[

We also have a young couple from our church coming out now to look at the big house.  They have four little girls and are living in a two bedroom house (or trailer, maybe.)  Anyway, if they want to rent it, that will mean more work..........but then everything we have will be occupied again, and hopefully we can recoup some of the expense we have had lately.  That would be a good thing. ^-^

Tomorrow night is the family Thanksgiving dinner at the care home where my Mom lives.  My sister and I will attend that with Mom.

I have a new book I am wanting to start reading, so I hope I don't have any more interruptions tonight!!
