"When we face difficulties, we sometimes forget God's past faithfulness. We see only the detours and the dangerous path. But look back and you will also see the joy of victory, the challenge of the climb, and the presence of your traveling Companion who has promised never to leave you nor forsake you."

Morning Devotional...

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.
Psalm 3:5

Our God delights in bringing His people rest.

As our verse intimates, how refreshing to have a good night's sleep! This is rest for the body.

In Matthew 11:28, the Lord Jesus offers freely a rest for the soul. No need to work for Salvation! He bore the heavy load of sin on Calvary's Cross. As believers in His finished work, we can then rest in His Word, His way and His will.

This is perfect peace and rest for the mind.

And still there is another rest.
For those who have put their faith in Him we are waiting for our eternal rest.
-E. MacLelland

Eternal is our rest,
O Christ of God in Thee!
Now of Thy peace,
Thy joy possessed,
We wait Thy face to see.
-H. K. Burlingham

Night all (or morning)  I am feeling much better now.  My ear is plugged and I can't hear from it, but any sign of pain is gone so I'll just listen from the other ear for the time being.  I get ear infections very often, I'm not sure why that is.

I have been super busy the last couple days cutting out labels for my grandpa, but I finally finished them this evening, (with the help of my brother).  There for his candy machine's.  (For anyone in the Toronto area, if you see candy machines in the stores (those kind you stick .50 in and get a handful of candy or peanuts) and they have little stickers on them saying that they support Big Brothers (I think that's the company he supports), well those are my grandpa's machine's.  And in a few weeks some of them will have the labels that I handmade on them so look for that lol!  (They are sorta curved shapes with arrows pointing to the slots.  They have coins saying .50 at the top middle and each arrow says 25.  They are mostly blue but have some yellow, orange red and purple in them too.  Not very interesting I know lol, but after spending days making them, it'd be cool if one of you saw them.  (they may not all be in Toronto, he has machine's throughout eastern Canada, and there may be some rectangle ones instead of curved as well)

Anyways, it's late here so I'm off to read my bible for a bit and then get to bed.  Goodnight all.

Good morning from Western North Carolina!  The sky looks really pretty out there; I've got to get out the camera today and make some pictures for the Outdoor Eyes Landscape Workshop (http://www.outdooreyes.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=99), and Trav wants to go play putt-putt (http://www.ashevillesfundepot.com) sometime :)  We'll see what all gets done!  Kristi will probably have some input into that, too!  I think Karma is done with her Mary Kay (http://www.marykay.com/karmashuford) stuff, so hopefully we'll get to spend some time together without my job (http://www.ppofa.com) interfering.

I hope y'all have a GREAT day.  Good morning, Pat and Teresa Dawn :)

Good Morning Nards and Teresa Dawn and everyone else who comes in today.

I am very happy with the way I have now arranged my house. I will have to take some photos to show you how I have divided up the living room in to 2 spaces. with my two desks at angle to each other making it a cozy little space. I can peek around my monitor to see the TV is I so chose.  I am still unpacking the boxes that I have setting around in here though.

I hope all of you have a blessed day, for now I am going to fix my Oatmeal with Wheat Germ and Lecithin Granules in it and have my breakfast.

I am so happy.  Pete's Pond has been down but I just noticed today that it is up and running again.  AND when I put my mouse over the upper left corner, it ask me to choose between two viewers.  I chose RealPLayer and now I have a maximized big viewing window!  Fantastic.  No more squinting to see if I see something or not.  (If you could do this before, I didn't know it.)  Anyway, I just saw three elephants...two adults and a baby.  The baby was suckling for awhile.  As Soni would say, I am jazzed!  And of course, there is some bird squawking in the mic.  Really neat....thanks Pat for discovering this live cam and sharing with us all.

Unlike Janet, I am having another leisure day.  But tomorrow is church and then shopping for Thanksgiving dinner and refreshments for Small Groups.  Then Monday is Euchere Club and then going to Charlene's to bake some goodies for Small Groups and then Small Groups at 7 p.m.  So I may be scarce until Tuesday!

Also Monday I am calling my doctor to see when I can get in to find out what can be done with this sciatic nerve pain.  Been long enough and don't want it to go into a chronic condition.

Elephants are still there and some smaller animals...deer-like.  Wish I knew the names of all the animal you see at Pete's Pond.

Etta Sue, your film footage is really good.  I thought those cats had invaded my monitor.  I see your cats are spoiled with the running water also.  Our cat used to do that each morning by jumping into the bathtub and we would start a drip, drip, drip for him.  He always sticks his head under it.  Now it is several times a day if he can get us to do it.

I don't know how to compress WMA files or even know if you can.  You might check on Download.Com or Tucows.com for some freeware or shareware that would do that.

Would you post the link for that wildlife site.  I think I have been missing something.

Teresa Dawn, glad the pain is gone but know it is frustrating to have your ear stopped up.  Cutting out those things for the candy machines sounds like a lot of work.  Did you design what you are cutting out?

Nards and Karmat, hope you have a good day shopping.

Marilyn, I am glad you got your computer moved and are pleased with the results.

Pat, I had forgotten about your first experience with grits.  Wasn't that at the breakfast we all shared together.  I am going to try my best to get a group from our Learning Center to attend the national SeniorNet conference next year.  I didn't think they would likely ever have such a conference again.  This time I hope they don't leave out the web people but if they do it will be a good time to have some get togethers with all the web folks attending.

Well, today is football day.  I am watching two different games right now and then there are several other games I will follow later today.  This evening I am looking forward to see a couple of programs on the new Atlanta Acquarium, which is the largest in the world.  It is opening next week.

Larry, glad you could see the little movie.  Well, I have learned how to compress it now.  So....for Larry...here is a 20 second version.  http://my.core.com/~ettasue/Ali_and_Inky/Ali&Inky.WMV
I modified the above post.

I took the movie from my camera and imported it into Windows Movie Maker.  I edited it some but then under 'Finish Movie', I selected 'Send in Email'.  That compressed it down from 5.1m to .99m.  Then I uploaded itto my web page and posted the clickable.

So I am hoping you all enjoyed the antics of my two girls!!

Etta Sue - as soon as I clicked on your link it started downloading into my download window.  When it got through I couble clicked on the downloaded file, but it said I had to specifify an application to view it.  I didn't have any that I thought would do it, so I gave up!  Of course you know I have a MAC.

Al, I know nothing about a MAC but I assume you would select any video player application that you have in your MAC.

Etta Sue I got it just fine both here and in the email you sent me.

I am boiling over here,  :clobber: I got another one of those letter from Social Security :clobber: :clobber: that said my income is over $35K per year.  :idiot:  :idiot: I have filed an appeal and also sent letters to b th the offices here and to the one back east telling them they made a terrible mistake and that if that was my income I wanted to collect it.

I took some boxes of books over the the Salvation Army this morning and have put most of my books away in the bookcase now that it is moved. Boy I think I have given away about half of the stuff I moved over to this house.

I have been making stationery and having a blast doing so. Pat I sent you one that I made today.

Etta Sue, thanks for the additional information and the longer video.  Those are certainly cute cats.

Marilyn, your government at work again.  Hope they quickly get it straigtened out.

Etta Sue, that is neat that you can do a little video like that!  I read your instructions twice and am sure they are as simple as you can make them, but I only understand maybe half of it.  :-[  Cute kitties!

We got home from Colorado a little after six, then I took Abby to meet her daddy; they were going to Liberal to eat supper tonight.

My brother and sis in law's 50th party was nice, and they had a good crowd attending, too. My best friend from high school days was there, and it was wonderful to see her again.

Etta Sue, I think Larry was asking for the link to Pete's Pond, and I would like to have it again, too, please.  Thanks.

Nita, my friend in Alaska takes her grandson to the Salvation Army store to shop, too.  He is happy because she says he can get anything he wants, and she is happy because everything is cheap!  ;)  Good deal all around.  She also has a self-imposed rule that if she brings anything home, she has to take an equal number of things out of the house, so she usually takes a bag of donations when they go.

Tomorrow is another busy Sunday, I have to be there at church at 9 to practice music; then  my little great niece is having a Princess birthday party in the afternoon, then cantata practice is at 4:30, followed by prayer time and church again.

May you all enjoy a wonderful day with the Lord in His house tomorrow!

Hi Etta Sue!

Yes, I saw it.  Cute kitty cats!

And in the background I could hear Pete's Pond.  LOL

Here's the main page for PETE'S POND (http://www9.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/wildcamafrica/home.html)

Click on WILDCAM

I was reading in the blog and saw this:

Things do not always work as planned...
John Kondis, NGM.com

As the headline reads, things do not always work out as planned. We encountered some difficulties in getting the satellite modem to its final destination, but it appears that all the proverbial ducks (or perhaps noisy egyptian geese) are finally lining up in a row. Though we do intend to bring WildCam back online, it now appears that it will not happen until early next week. Once again, we thank all of you for your amazing patience. (In the meantime, we, too, have been enjoying the entertaining verse provided by the wandering cyber-bards who have posted here.)

I"m sure missing something.  I click on Pete's Pond all the time, just did earlier again, and I'm getting the same grey looking picture they've had there since the camera was down.  I just deleted my cache and will see if that does it.  When did it come back up?

Etta Sue........I saw your cute cats.  That's neat the way you did that.  That'd be a neat way to see new grandbabies if you weren't near. :)

HAHA...Pat, I posted before I read your above post.  So........what is Etta Sue seeing?  Is she watching the archived footage?

edit:  Yep....still down.  I think Etta Sue has an inside view of things. lol

The only basis for which God can forgive me is the Cross of Christ.
