What do you need most in the world?
God's love!

Morning Devotional...

How to Seek God.

Psalm 14:2, 3.
"The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there are any who understand, who seek God.  The have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one."

There is a very, very unfortunate circumstance in the world in which we live.  It is that mankind is corrupt.  That's an awful thing to say, but the Scripture above says it is true.  It just means that human beings aren't ordinarily seeking God, that they've "turned aside."  In turn that means all humanity has ceased to seek God and is instead seeking self, gratification, riches, etc., etc.

But there is a way out of this terrible morass into which we've fallen.  It begins very simply with admitting to God that we're in it and that it's our own doing, not His.  He says, "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out."  Just admit that you've rebelled against God and can't seek Him because you've lost the ability.  Ask Him for mercy.  He will change your life!

Once that wonderful change takes place, you'll be able to seek the true God, you'll find Him, both in His Word and in His Creation, and you'll love Him and believe in His Son, Who gave Himself for your sins to set you free!

It's the most wonderful thing that can possibly happen in your life, both now and forever!

O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus
(Click to hear music)

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:39

Author:  S. Trevor Francis, 1834-1925
Musician:  Thomas John Williams, 1869-1944

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!
Rolling as a mighty ocean
in its fullness over me!
Underneath me, all around me,
is the current of Thy love
Leading onward, leading homeward
to Thy glorious rest above!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
spread His praise from shore to shore!
How he loveth, ever loveth,
changeth never, nevermore!
How he watches o'er His loved ones,
died to call them all His own;
How for them He intercedeth,
watcheth o'er them from the throne!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
love of every love the best!
'Tis an ocean full of blessing,
'tis a haven giving rest!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
'tis a heaven of heavens to me;
And it lifts me up to glory,
for it lifts me up to Thee!

Good Morning Hey I am first. How about that?

We had a wonderful service last yesterday morning and again last night, The spirit of God really moved in Abundant Life Center. The Evangelist, John Harkey preached two great messages and during  prayer after each service many people were greatly touched including myself when he called me up for  prayer.

I got home about 8:15 but was so full of the spirit and the joy of the Lord that I didn't even want to come near the computer  to check for email. I just got ready for  bed and crawled in.

Praise our Lord - He's given us another day in His world to serve Him.

It's very foggy here this morning - can just barely see to the end of the block (three mobilhomes away).  We obviously have a cold air layer right down close to the ground, and the moisture evaporating from the ground is quickly condensing  on that cold layer.  Hope we can see our way to the fitness center, gas station, etc.

We have our weekly staff meeting at the church this evening - need to pray about that and about a good result from yesterday's services.

Good morning all.

Al, we have had no fog here.  In Roseburg, east of us, as you know, they've been fogged in every day in the morning.  My sister, being a photography, has enjoyed it, and looked for opportunities. :)  Sometimes there's that moment where fog lays low and above the mountains and trees appear, seemingly coming out of the mist. And if you have a few lights peeping out of the mist, minus the buildings and streets, well, shades of Thomas Kinkaid. (ade?) ;D

It's been cold here in the mornings.  I've had light ice on my windshield the last 2 mornings.  With all the garbage gone, I guess I can now put my car in the garage at night.

Al, a good devotional.  Your last sentence was "It's the most wonderful thing that can happen in your life, both now and forever."   We don't have a lot of truth in this world, things get slanted to fit one opinion or another, but boy this is the truth!
There's no way we can mess this up. haha  My true life started when Jesus scooped me up out of the garbage pile, washed me, covered me in Himself, gave me His Name, loved me, loved me, loved me until I trusted that love, and I've never been the same or more.......well, wonderful both now and forever. :)

Marilyn, isn't that the way it is?  All these things we do in our days....when the presence of the Lord is manifest, every desire fades into nothingness and all we want is to be quietly in His Presence.  Everything and anything else just gets in the way of that.  You are blessed.

I don't have much planned today (do I ever? lol).  So far my agenda includes a trip to the bank and more garage cleaning.  Gotta get Angel back on her weekly schedule of school time, and right now....have another cup of coffee, flavored with Hazelnut creamer.  There's not a lot going on in my life right now. haha  God can change that at any moment, and I'm very aware of that.

Have a blessed day everyone.  Nita

HOW Y"ALL ARE THIS MORNING?   :D  It looks as if it will be a lovely day here in our corner of Kansas.

Darrel and I went to work out; taking Beth to the therapy center on our way, then picking her up on the way home.  That works well, and is the reason I requested the 8 AM slot for her.

Now I am thinking what needs to go on my grocery list, getting ready for Thanksgiving.  We are going to Diane's, and will get to see both Curtis and Mark.  Jeff's mom and stepdad and young sister will be there, too.  I will take the turkey, the fryer, the oil, and whatever else I can think of this evening when I go to Hugoton for something else, because with the wheelchair, we can't get everything into the car.

Abby was alll excited because her class was going on a field trip this morning----to Yardmaster Lawn and Landscape!!     That is her parents' store........and I imagine she will feel very important getting to explain some things to them.  They are studying plants just now, so are going to the greenhouse to see plants.  ;)  The excitement of children is so uplifting, and their learning things constantly is a joy.

Well, I'm outa here to get about my day's doings!  See you later!

Hey everyone!!!!  Does anyone have any recipes for yam/sweet potato casserole dishes?  Need such a recipe pronto, quick, and NOW!

Etta Sue

Thanks, everyone, for the comments on my mini-movie.  And also, I now realize that Pete's Pond is archived.  Realized that when it was daylight at 9:30pm in Botwana!  But still a cute archive with the elephants and all.

And it seems that Pat has a road trip on her mind.  Sorry, Pat, that I neglected in commenting about you dropping on some time to see Ivalou and I.  We would love that!!!!  I think I will hold you to that!  I like drop-in company...I don't have to slave over the house for drop-in company!!   What you see is what you get!   ^-^ ^-^

Well, I must move on.  I have Euchere Club this afternoon and this evening is Small Groups and I am taking refreshments.  Going to fix the hot stuff at Tony and Charlenes but want to precook some of it.

WHooooosh!  I am outta here!

Jane, here are some more.((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))....There!  Maybe one day's quota, anyway!  Need to do the same for Nita, Ruth Ann, Pat, and Etta Sue.  Anyone else?  :)

Well, after two trips to town; one to Dollar General and one to the regular grocery store, I think I have all the stuff for my part of Thanksgiving dinner.  Whew!

I need to see if I can purchase an airline ticket for Beth.  Later, two friends and I are going to a Creative Memories open house.

Jane, here is a cyber hug from me as well.  Last Friday at our SeniorNet Learning Center I got to see a number of friends that I had worked with in the Learning Center that I hadn't seen in a long time and we exchanged a hug--it was nice.  I used to be uncomfortable in hugging people or being hugged but I have changed.

It has really been a chilly, cloudy and rainy day here in Georgia.  Around 2 pm it was very dark and it looks like it is about sundown and it is only 3:30.  We need the rain.  Today was the day that Pat decided we would take some clothes to a local mission in our county (couldn't do it on a sunny, nice day.)  Anyway, we kept driving by it without seeing it so stopped and ate lunch on the square of the county seat at a place we had heard about and asked directions and the mission was basically in the next block right down the street.  The place we ate had very good food and we will definately go back there again.

I hope some of you will come to the Atlanta Acquarium sometime.  It is going to be a wonderful tourist attraction.  I would certainly want to meet you if you did so please let me know.  There are a lot of things to see in Atlanta including the Carter Presidential Library, World of Coke and many other sights.

Al, have you checked on the Internet for recipes, if there isn't one here in our recipe section on CP.  My wife looks up recipes all the time and has found some really good ones.  Al, that was a fine devotional message today.

Janet, if Beth can go when you and Darrel go to exercise then Darrel is able to handle the wheelchair for you-right?  That sounds like a very good plan.  I just saw your posting about buying an airline ticket for Beth.  Is she going back up to see John? (sorry to be so nosey but inquiring minds want to know)  :D

Marilyn, it sounds like you had a great day at church yesterday.

Pam, welcome back.  I know that computers, while wonderful, can be very frustrating when they don't want to work correctly.

Judy, I am sure your visit with the missionaries was very enjoyable and informative.  It sounds like you really had a busy day.

Hi Papa John.  Are you having rain up your way?

Pat, I know you know the way to Atlanta since you were here once before and as I recall you even came here to our house one afternoon.  You know you are welcome anytime.  We have good friends and former neighbors that have moved to a retirement community in Springfield, Ohio and we want to go see them this spring and then it is only about 4 hours on to my cousins in Michigan.  So maybe the trip we planned a couple of years ago will still happen sometime.

Carol, your sewing on patches sound very much like what Pat was called upon to do on our step-grandson's military uniforms when he was called to active duty.

Well, I guess I had better get started on some webwork I want to do.  I have a couple of new, major projects I want to undertake plus redoing the song sheets for Calvin Cove in much larger print and these things won't happen by themselves.  Hope everyone has a good evening.

Janet

Thanks, Larry, you always notice these things, even when no one else does.  Yes, Darrel does help with Beth and her chair; he has finally realized it is taking a toll on me, and I think he wants to keep me around a while.  ;)

And yes, Beth is going back to New York to see John.  This time, she is taking her dog with her and she says then she has no reason to come back!  ??? :o  Anyway this trip is to be for SIX MONTHS!!  I really do not know how John can manage, she is all but paralyzed from her waist down now.  But he insists he wants her to come; says he will buy a ramp or rent a lift so she can get into and out of the house. (He has four steps.)  Anyway, all I can say is, I want Beth to be happy and enjoy her life as much as is possible, so I can't stand in her way.  If they decide to marry, they plan to buy a house together that is more handicap accessible.  Sometimes it is very hard, being a Mom.  :-\

I just purchased her ticket online.  She will stay until June, and he will come out with her for our family reunion, so at least her return trip, she won't be alone.  Sigh............  At least I know John has good morals and will not take advantage of her, and he is kind to her and they really enjoy each other.  That's a lot.  And her problems do not seem to put him off at all, which is a real blessing as well.

Janet somehow I missed about you buying the plane ticket before and I wondered what Larry was talking about. Oh my, I do pray for Beth's happiness for the rest of her life. I suppose they will arrange for her medical records to be transferred should she need a doctor while she is there.

I am doing Versal's laundry here this afternoon and decided to do my own also. Might as well get it all done at the same time.

I don't know what I am doing for Thanksgiving yet. I have asked the kids and Sarah's folks but no one has got back to tell me of any plans, so I don't know what my share will be or what they want me to bring. I really don't like it when people wait until the last minute to make plans for the dinner, It gets on my last nerve., especially since I have shop for whatever I am taking or preparing.

Hi, friends,

Jane, here's one more (((((hug))))) fro you. I dont' get many of them, either, so I understand.

Janet, I really hope that Beth and John have a marvelous time together, and that you can use the time to again renew your strength. And, I agree, we cannot dictate our children's choices, we just have to trust God that He's in control.

Larry, I just heard about the new acquarium today. I wonder if Pam and I can take the children when I'm there either at Thanksgiving time or at Christmas time. That would be a great experience. I was telling my son no later than Saturday afternoon that I'd like to see the Chattanooga acquarium again before long.

I'm very thankful for the connection to the sewer. I already washed two loads tonight and have the dishwasher going at this time. No more septic tank worries.

It's so good to hear from all of you and to read your comments. I can't comment to everyone, but please understand I have read what you said and "had a conversation" with you in my mind as I was reading your post.

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann

Al thank you for the devotional.  Good one.

Janet this may be God's way of giving you some rest.  Try not to worry.
