Morning Devotional...When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then Thou knewest my path. Psalm 142:3
There are times in our lives when our hearts are overwhelmed and we wonder how we can go on.
It is at times like these that we need to be reminded that we are on the Rock who is higher than we are (Ps. 61:2).
This elevation gives us a position of strength over our spiritual enemies; a position of perspective on our situation, in view of eternity--the big picture; and a position of closeness to the Most High God where we can rest in the calming comfort of His omnipotent presence.

"The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."
Matthew 7:25-26
Words: Edward Mote
Music: William B. Bradbury
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus' Name.
Refrain
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
Refrain
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
Refrain
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Refrain
Hi Pat..... Thank you for that music "My hope is built on nothing less that Jesus blood and righteousness"
Thought I would be the first to post today.
God Bless Everyone.

Good Morning Pat!
It is always good to see your smiling face and I thank you for all of your good works. We are scurrying to get ready for our Thanksgiving. Carol
Good Morning!!!
Rachelle, I live in the SW corner of Kansas. That is about 200 miles from Wichita. Wichita is in central Kansas. And I do hope your friend will look for some Christian friends there. It is important to have friends who share our values.
Sonja, your little family are a busy bunch! Wish I could have tasted yours and Troy's cooking! And hear the kids sing, too. These are special times, building precious memories.
Pat, that verse brought back sweet memories of when Curtis was three or four years old and loved to sing. When we were riding in the car, he and I would sing "The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock" and do all the motions. Then we did it all over again with Mark........and now Abby. Fun times, for sure!
I will be taking Abby and Cookie (our dog) to meet Diane halfway this morning. They are keeping the dog for us while we are gone for Thanksgiving. She can play in their backyard with Maggie, their spaniel. Abby is so excited about having Cookie at her house! She really likes her.
I posted some new photos yesterday and have some more to get ready. I'm having trouble with my ftp, though. >:(
Pat, I thought STEELERDIRTFREAK might be a dirt bike rider!?!?! Come in and solve the mystery, please!
Talk to you nice folks later!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANICE!! And many, many more!!
Mum Pat, may I please go to Nebraska to visit my brother and my sister, assorted nephews and nieces, for Thanksgiving? Please, Mum? PLEASE??? ;) (I promise to take some photos to share!
Alright! As long as you take lots of photos!
(You have me sitting here giggling! Geordie and Lauren both came running and stared at the monitor to see what was happening!)
Thank you Pat for the devotional and the links this morning, That California fog photo is right on. I does get very thick, sometime one can not even see the hood on your car.
Ok, Ok, since we are asking Pat if we can be away for Thanksgiving. Miss Pat, May I have permission to take my client Bea, and go out to dinner with Brother Al and Marbeth to Marie Callenders. I promise I will take my camera. It is in my purse which, is where I keep it now.
TTYL
Good Morning! I had a wonderful photography experience this morning....well, not very wonderful. Probably not wonderful at all. I fell in the mud! I saw a beautiful sunrise and the clouds were just magnificent. I was close to a place with water and trees and I knew the angle of the sun at that spot. I was driving to my daughters to babysit for the day. Anyway, I pulled over and started taking some pictures of the mill and then walked a little bit through the wet leaves and mud to the stream bank but I needed to get in front of some low lying branches to get the sunset photo... Well, as I walked forgot about my slick shoes and it was not long before my feet started sliding out from under me and I landed in very deep mud! I picked myself up and 4 inches of mud were on my backside, shoulder, arm and camera! Does this make me a real photographer????? I am thankful I was not hurt but I am very thankful my camera does not seem to be any worse for its mudbath.
WildflowerJoy, It is so good to see you posting again. Where have you been?
Oh, my goodness, Wildflower Joy! That would have made a fantastic photo for the current challenge at DPC! It's entitled "Surprise!"
Yes, I think that makes you a REAL PHOTOGRAPHER! I'm glad you weren't hurt too!
I have been the one woman cleaning team for my husband who thinks he is a painter, plumber, carpenter, and floor installer as we remodel our kitchen and bath. Lots of messes to clean up and/or walk around and/or fall in!
We are not done yet and probably won't be until Christmas. Today, the baby is sleeping so I grabbed a few minutes to check out what you all have been up to.

Say Ladies, who does Pat ask permission of when she goes away? She should be asking someone as we may need her?

Pat Geordie is such a character. Kassie is so in love with him that she has asked if she can have a female border collie and breed her to Geordie! ! weell i have so far said no, but we shall see.
I understand it is raining in southern ON as it is here. I don't mind the rain, it is much better than snow. You don't have to shovel rain. It is presently 13*C and the 1000 dollar question is Will the temp drop and will we have icy roads tonight? Time will tell I suppose.
Well I have to get ready to take John in for his hand.
Bye for now
Love Judy
Hi everyone.
Welcome to CP steelerdirtfreak.
Happy Birthday, Janice
Joy, sure glad you weren't hurt when you fell and that your camera survived the mud bath. That must have been very unpleasant to get into your car with all that mud. :'(
Ria, our good weather seems to be over for a few days and we have a freeze warning out for tonight. This morning we are having some rain and it is very grey. The temperature is to drop all day long. Fortunately, other than getting the mail, I have no reason to be outside today.
My sister-in-law was a beautician by trade and is busy giving my wife a haircut and then a new permanent. So Pat will be all fixed up for Thanksgiving.
Not much on my schedule today so will work on some projects I have underway on the computer.
John, hope all goes well with your hand surgery today. I will be praying for you.
hahahhaha...I had a good laugh at some of the posts.
I have an appointment at the hospital to get a CT scan done on my little ole head. ::)
I'll be back to visit in a bit, only if there is coffee and donuts waiting for me with purple icing. ;) ;D
Love Sonja
Donuts with PURPLE icing coming right up.
I'll be praying for a good report from your CT scan.
PURPLE icing, Sonja? Good for you, you must be a K-State fan! ;D I pray you get a good report on your lil' ol' head. We are praying for you!

STEELERDIRTFREAK!!
JudyB ~ Thanks for asking about my pain when sitting at the computer. It was in my right arm, elbow and neck. I did change office chairs, raised it and took some pain meds. It is all better now. God is good. My prayers are with John on his surgery tomorrow and that he is driving that big rig soon.
Papa John ~ Is your early morning service and late morning service the same sermon or different. Our minister has the same sermon with very little difference. We have been having 900-1100 at our services since starting 'The 40 Days of Purpose'. So sorry to hear about your young friend. Cancer....such an ugly word. Great to see you posting, Papa John. Tell Cornelia hello from Jerry and I.
Pat ~ You are right......4,000 sq. ft. I just know Diane and Scott's home is huge....full basement and 2 floors. But 40,000 sq. ft. is almost as large as our church. It is 55,000 sq. ft.
Sarah ~ Sounds like you are busy with family, church and basketball. Keeps you outta trouble...hunh? No, I am praying that each day brings light into your heart.
Karma ~ Sorry about your headaches. I know that can be tiring and wearing you down. I am fortunate. If I have a headache...which I feel is not what some experience...I can shut my eyes and make myself totally relax and it goes away.
Sonja ~ Sounds like you had a great day with family at church yesterday. Would love to hear Troy sing. He is shy but singing may take that shyness away at the time. I am praying that they find nothing with your CT scan. Ooops! That didn't sound right. Nothing abnormal with your CT scan!!!!
WildflowerJoy ~ You painted a funny picture with words. I am so happy you weren't hurt other than your pride. But for sure, that would have been a Kodak moment.
Ria ~ Good morning!!!! Well, it isn't morning there now that it almost noon here.
This evening Jerry, Ivalou and I are going to Tony and Charlene's for Charlene's son's, Kevin's, 21st birthday AND for Thanksgiving dinner. T and C are going to Conneticut to Audrey's home. I have already told her to get lots of photos of Donovan...grandson...and I will put them on a .pps file for her.
Gotta go....Noon here!!!!<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:)))

Mike has a big family and they have rented a church with a gymnasium in it. Woohooo...basketball and they have a stage too. I am sure Chandraya will find some good uses for that. hehehe...

Hi WildflowerJoy! Hope you put that comment over in that topic for Abby to see. I'm sure that Grandma Janet will show her all of the nice comments.
Pat, thanks for the link Kids Explorers
I wish I seen this yesterday I would have saved $20.00. The boys went to see the Cat and the Hat last night with the church youth group.
The boys didn't care for the movie. They said it wasn't as funny as they thought it would be. Sort of a sick dimented humour.
I will save some money today though. Chandraya and I were going to see Brother Bear, but after reading the review, I think i will pass and maybe take her for coffee and a muffin at Perkins.
I will show my kids this site when they get done with their school.

Thanks Pat. Where is Iain today?
Church was great yesterday and Sunday School better than great. The Pastor is teaching the class this time and it is amazing to see the difference that has come over our church since he has become our minister. I love to close my eyes and just listen to the singing. So many of the older folks (like me) sit with cold expressions, looking to find fault. If only they would see the joy on the faces of the younger folks and teenagers while singing, and open their hearts to the moving of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is all about loving and caring and learning. Not about self!
Amanda entered a contest for artists to make a banner to represent the large shopping mall in their area. (Soon to be mine also...) Over 80 artists competed. Three of them made banners so good that the judges couldn't make a choice and gave Amanda and two others each $50.00 for their work. She also made $20.00 for art work in her 4H Club and won three awards for work in that field. Not bad for one weekend! I am so proud of her...not for winning, but for having the courage to get out there and try. Tho' winning isn't bad either, right Janet?
Sonja, I just got a Sony Digital DSC P52 and will have lots of questions for you in '04 if that's okay??? Won't have much time until then. Surely does look like an interesting hobby and can hardly wait to get started.
Must go and get started on my Christmas baking now. Trying to get that done before the packing begins.
Isn't God wonderful? The older I get, the more clear this has become...
God Bless.
Liz, give Amanda my congratulations! You're right, it does take courage to put your art work out there to be "judged." It is almost like having someone criticize your child! Can you take photos of her efforts and show us? We'd love to see her work.

It is good to see everyone today.
Etta Sue, Chris, our minister, gives the same lesson the early and late worship. Of course it may be a little different but it is the same lesson. Give Jerry my best regards. I hope he is continuing to recover.
It is going to get COLD here in Middle Tennessee tonight, down to 23 degrees. I think of the homeless on nights like tonight. All the churches here in Nashville have a program called "Room in the Inn." Hundreds of homeless are gathered up and brought to church buildings over the city where they get a good hot meal, a warm place to sleep, and breakfast in the morning.
Matt 25:34-40
34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Oh Papa John it is so nice to see the familiar green posts with the scriptures in them. I am so happy you are feeling better.

And I'm here too. Guess you didn't see me, Pat. I haven't been here for yonks, well, donkey years, but I'm here now. ;D
Well, around here, we will be staying home for Thanksgiving...sort of. I'll be at the church to help peel vegetables and whatever else before the dinner there at 1. And then I think, (I haven't mentioned this to you Jane....haha)....but I think we'll just have dinner here at my house. It will just be Kim, Angel, and Jane if she still wants to come. :) She knows I change my mind a lot. :P Are you listening, friend across town?? ;)
I bought a turkey breast today. That'll be enough for the 4 of us. My grandaughter, Angel, called after school, and I told her "I bought the cutest little thing today....all soft and small." She thought of a new kitty or puppy. haha NOT! I finally told her what it was..a thawed turkey breast.
Janet the painting that your grandaughter did is wonderful! Did you know she had that gift? Were you surprised? I'm very impressed. I know it just thrills your heart to have her follow in your artistic giftings.
Liz, yes, I wish you could post some of Amanda's paintings for us to see. I'd really like that.
Papa John, I feel the same when the weather gets cold, or it's storming hard. I think of the homeless. I'm so grateful that we have some residences and emergency stay overs here. I know that some don't want to be inside where they will be enclosed with other people that close, but some will stay. Oh how they need to know the Lord and how absolutely precious they are to Him. Oh, how I hate what drugs and alcohol can do to a person!
Marilyn, you are having Thanksgiving dinner with Al and Marbeth? That's so neat. Be sure and take those pictures for us.
Karmat, that was really funny posting that friendly bit of info in DPC. HAHA Were you able to delete?
Sonja, I hope your sweet little head is perfect.......well, the reports anyway. I hope they find lots of brains and dancing cells and other wonderful stuff... but nothing bad.
Gotta go look for dinner. I might be back later......try to catch Pat slamming the door. :)
Man...this dial-up is for the birds. I had a real nice post all typed up and I got an unsolicited call and and got bumped offline and then lost the whole post. Story of my life these days. I was telling you guys about moving and losing my ability to get DSL and in the process of going to dial-up I lost my identity and along with my identity I lost my whole yahoo address book and my email address. I have updated my profile so anybody who wants to can contact me.
Tomorrow I am leaving for a mission trip to Mexico. I was wondering if I could get some prayer covering for the trip from the group? I have some specific areas of prayer which I will post here, and then just pray as the Holy Spirit leads. If you get anything while you are praying for me...please share it with me after December 2nd or send it as a private message. Here is the prayer:
Prayer for Mexico trip...
Pray for safe journey...that none of the vehicles will break down, that God will station His angles ahead and behind us.
That there will be smooth passage through customs and that we will have the GREEN LIGHT for ALL vehicles when we cross the border.
That there will be NO illness amongst the 'troops'
That our strength will be sufficient and our endurance great.
That our minds will be sharp - even when we are tired.
That the Lord will grant us sweet sleep when we do get to lay our heads down at the end of the day.
No scorpion SIGHTINGS! much less stings. We take authority over every living and creeping thing.
Pray for MIRACLES, and divine appointments.
That we will be able to push back the darkness with the light of the Gospel which we bring. That we TAKE GROUND for the Kingdom.
As I said, I will leave tomorrow and will be back LATE December 1st !
Thanks you guys!

steelerdirtfreak, that's an interesting name you have there! Is it because your a "steeler" fan in football? Being up here in Canada, I'm not too sure of what teams there are down in the states. Are you from the USA?
Hi Pat,
Thanks for the welcome. The name comes from my love for the Steelers (football team) and Dirt Track Racing. My wife and I are track chaplins at a local track and we travel to many big dirt track races around the mid-Atlantic area. I also do a lot of photography work at the races, and that is how I found this group. I was doing a google, looking for Christian photographers, and y'all showed up on the list!
Anyways, I look forward to getting to know y'all. I have a couple of web sites that tell a little more about who I am:
www.steelerdirtfreak.com
www.justifiedbygrace.com
And I have recently begun exploring digatal art as a way of worshipping our Father. I'm still learning as I go on that, and am hoping I can learn from some here.
Peace,
Paul
I'm taking a short break from my Christmas baking, can't look at another butter tart....
Actually, Amanda did post a couple of her last year paintings. They were posted a few weeks ago under 'Creations With A Brush.' I haven't had time to learn about my Digital Camera yet, but will happily post some of her pictures in the New Year. Will ask her to take one of the Banner for the mall. Thanks for asking.
You bet I'm proud of my granddaughter, Marilyn. With or without talent, she is a great teenager! Would love to view Janet's work and that of her granddaughter. Unfortunately, my computer will not pick up Janet's pictures...get that dreaded red X. Have seen one or two earlier .....some little elf is messing up my computer. Works on other things....simply has it in for Janet!!!???
Your grandkids are really cute Marilyn. I hope to be able to use my camera with the skill that you show. Got a real good deal on it or would not have bought a Sony. What is happening with the lady who doesn't like the windows on your car?
Pinkie, I will add you to my prayer list. Hope that things go well and everyone stays safe and well.
Back to the baking...
Great to see you posting, Paul (Steelerdirtfreak). May I call you Paul? I'm sure I know how to spell that! LOL
I hope that you come often. We'll also be looking forward to seeing some of your photography!
Liz I just point and shoot. I am still learning about my camera too. the settings etc.
Is part of your post missing, Marilyn?
HAHAHA! Guess you were in the middle of editing.
I tried to figure it out but it just didn't work for me.
I posted in "Have You Prayed About It?" all about Pinkie's trip to Mexico.

Well you talk about a shock to the system! When we left home her today the temp was a balmy 10*C It had dropped 3*. I am home to a minus 3*C WOWI wasn't expecting it and didn't dress for it!.
John was at the Dr. and surgery is postponed till later. He has to have his entire arm (L) put to sleep(?) and the blood drained out of the finger because she is not sure if blood vessels are effected. The placement of the lump is between the blood vessels that run down both sides of the finger. So this is another wait.
I took Bonnie's son to AWANA tonight. He tends to be afraid of unfamiliar surroundings, so spent the entire night with one of the adults instead of with the kids. Would you please pray for this boy. We are dealling with a lot of problems and I am unsure of the root.
The girls are into the book in AWANA. They are already working on more memory work. I am so glad we found this club as I refused to take a 4th trip into North Bay during the week. Kassie saw the sign on the church and now we all have something on a Monday night.
Well I have to go. Still more typing to do for John, and then a pile of photocopying.
Night all
Love JudyB
It's been a long day and I'm sitting here yawning, just about falling asleep. (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fusers.adelphia.net%2F%7Epairajeans%2Fsnore.gif&hash=e8ac82f62eb790356b8984ca8784356f286a9c8b)
Good to see you here, Paul (I'm too sleepy to type out your screen name. ;D), even though you root for the wrong team. (I'm a longtime Cowboys fan and my husband roots for the Giants... you can imagine what our house is like when they play each other! )
I had two days of messages to read and can't remember back past the last two posts. Guess my brain needs a new infusion of RAM.
Ewww, Cowboys??? And here I was thinking you were a woman with good taste. <sigh> :P I'm kinda partial to the Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers myself.
Hi Paul! Welcome to CP!!
Happy Birthday Janice!!!
I'm gonna go get me a chocolate chip cookie and come back and read some more of the posts, maybe.

Please feel free to send some my way. I have a butter tart fanatic in my house. He'll eat them as fast as you can bake them.

QuoteBy liz~Sonja, I just got a Sony Digital DSC P52 and will have lots of questions for you in '04 if that's okay??? Won't have much time until then. Surely does look like an interesting hobby and can hardly wait to get started.
I don't mind at all, Liz. Ask away anytime.

Thank you. I really enjoy and learn so much from your posts. It is nice to see you posting more. I missed you. :)
QuoteBy Nita~Sonja, I hope your sweet little head is perfect.......well, the reports anyway. I hope they find lots of brains and dancing cells and other wonderful stuff... but nothing bad.
Thank you! (((hug)))
Time to lock the door.
I pray that you'll all have a good sleep and we'll get together tomorrow!
But for those of you who don't have to go to bed yet, continue talking in our new topic!
