JennyW: Hello Janet! I check every day. I wish everyone would get going again! I miss seeing pictures and reading posts! 2025-01-24, 06:54:04

Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

I called my brother's wife this morning to ask what their favorite kind of pie is, so I could make some.  She said Custard, Pumpkin and Sour Cream Raisin.......so I made one of each!  That took a while!  But they are now setting on the counter, cooling.  And I hope they taste good!

Everyone must be busy, it is pretty slow here today.

Busy?  I was busy, but now I am just sitting around doing laundry.  I didn't see any hands early. You all can help me if you like.  ;D

Thank you Rachelle!  I love the music, very peaceful and calming.

Oh, shucks!  I missed Mieka.  :'(

My daughter emailed me today with a request for instructions for cooking a turkey.  She's only been married about 17 years.  ::)

We got a dusting of snow last night but it was just about all gone by around 10:00 this morning... except for the mountains where you can still see some.  It only got up to around 35 F about noon or 1:00 and has been falling ever since.  I can tell because the furnace keeps coming on.  But that's OK.  I'm so thankful God has provided us with a snug and cozy home.

Oops!  How ungrateful must you think I am!   :-[  Thanks so much for those lovely greetings!

Pat - when I clicked on your Thanksgiving greeting above., my computer shut down... then I got the "Your password has expired" message again....9I have never put a password on here)., and I was unable to get back on here for 1/2 hour.... soooo, I'm not going to try clicking on it again.

You will have to tell me what I missed!

QuoteLiving here I know I am in for this kind of rain from now on until Jesus comes.

I just got a call from Al and I was chastised and told to repent for this sin. :-[ I shouldn't have said it was gonna rain until Jesus came. We don't want that prophecy to come true. We do have good weather here too. ;D ;D

Well Marilyn, that's better.  Let it never happen again!
Pat - I clicked on your clickable, was told I needed Shockwave (which I do).  So I went to the site, downloaded Shockwave, and I still wasn't able to open it.  Have any ideas?

Real Audio or Real Player will play it.

The file is on this site.  You aren't going to an offsite to play it.

Any player that will play .WAV files should play that file.

I too am sorry that I missed you Mieka.  I hope and pray that you stay well and are able to come back and say Hi now and then.

The snow, light dusting that it was, has stayed on the ground all day.  I guess that means that it is brrrrrr cold enough to keep.  Yuck.  I guess that also means that the shovelling days are going to begin.  Yuck!  and Ouch...my back!

Now to get some banking done.  Have a good evening everyone.

JudyB

Marilyn I understand hou you feel about the rain thing.  You come from the desert so this is a novelty and a nuisance all in one. ::)
When David was here for the family reunion it rainned in the morning and he commented that he rarely saw rain in LA.

I have gone through this document Pat, Oh how I wish I was 3 doors away again.  I have more typing to do.  GRRRRR i really am getting waterlogged with info.

Rachelle thankyou for the greetings,

I am going,
Be back later.

Actually JudyB  I am not FROM the desert, I was only there for 10 years. I am from Stockton 50 miles south of Sacramento In the San Joaquin Valley. Central California.

The rain doesn't really bother me, sometimes even it the desert there was a lot of rain.

Well... I was able to listen to all the links that Pat put in here and all I can say is: THANKS SO MUCH, RACHELLE AND CHRIS!  I have nothing to reciprocate with however  :-\  Just know I wish all y'all a very wonderful day of THANKSGIVING and the weather can come or go (which it usually does) it won't matter.  As Mieka says: "This is the day the Lord has made so we should rejoice and be glad in it!"

I'll be back ... got some stuff to take care of.   :-\
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Pat

HAHAHAHA!

Silver Bells
(Click to hear music)

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks .
Dressed in holiday style
In the air
There's a feeling
of Christmas
Children laughing
People passing
Meeting smile after smile
and on ev'ry street corner you'll hear

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day

Strings of street lights
Even stop lights
Blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush
home with their treasures

Hear the snow crunch
See the kids bunch
This is Santa's big scene
And above all this bustle
You'll hear

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, gear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day

Rachelle you better start thawing it now., in the fridge it will take a couple of days. Or you can put it in cold water.
I had someone tell me today that she put her turkey out in the sun for a few hours. I don't know that--that is a good idea though.

Rachelle, if you have anything bigger than about 12 pounds and haven't thawed it out yet in the refrigerator you'll probably have to use the cold water treatment.   Don't try leaving it out on the counter to thaw at room temperature, that can breed deadly bacteria.  It should either be in the refrigerator for about 24 hours per 10 pounds or put it (wrapped) under cold running water for an hour for every 5 pounds.   And remember, don't add the stuffing until you're ready to put it in the oven.

When Bernard and I went to the Grand Canyon, it rained on us almost the whole way from the Phoenix airport to the GC.  I was bewildered. 8)

And Rachelle, you don't want cooking tips from me.  My "blurb" under the profile pic used to state "Culinarily challenged."  I would be careful about defrosting it at room temp. or warmer; it does need to stay cool to keep bacteria and other nasties from growing.  yuck.

I just got another email from my daughter - now she's decided she'll stuff it after all and wanted my recipe.  I sent her the one I used, as did my mother, my grandmother and my great-grandmother.  Family tradition lives on!   ;D

By the way, Rachelle, consider yourself cyberly adopted!   ;D ;D ;D
