Morning Devotional...O Israel, trust thou in the Lord...O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord... Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord. Psalm 115:9-11
Why these three categories?
The psalmist appears to narrow down the classes. Sometimes even those closest to Him can falter in their trust.
But the closer we are, the more we should appreciate the holiness of God and the more be aware of our own shortcomings.
Those that fear the Lord daily are often conscious most of wrong within, and need to be reminded that He who is holy understands our frailties and is worthy of our trust.

blest Saviour, I recline;
Thou wilt not leave me in despair,
for Thou art Love divine.

I am SO excite I can come here today. I miss everyone SO much. :-[
It is a most wonderful time here with my family and it is my hope to be in the Lhasa again in two more days again. I was there and I get sick and I need to go back to the Chengdu and get a rest and more water. It is a NOT so fun part of my journey. But everything here it is a fun time when I am not sick. I know I soon have much work to do when I am at my new home there.
I miss everyone SO much. It is sad for me to not get to talk with my friends much. I forget so many of the words if I do not get to talk much.
Mr Papa John ;D I pray you are well this day.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
It is my most favorite of all. ((hug)) I have these words in my heart as I walk in the Lhasa. I see God everywhere in this most holy place. It is very sad to me that it is not allow to worship Him.
Ms Soni, I am SO happy I did get to say a Hi to you today.
Ms Marilyn, I thank you from my heart for the kind email you did send to me. I can not yet see it all, but I hope to see it soon.
Ms Pat, :-[ I love you and I miss you. I am so happy you are my Mum now. ;D It is my wonder if you will ever learn to get a rest?
I love you God, I thank you that you are with me each day. I thank you for the beauty all around me and for the love of so many friends. I pray you will help me to know each day what I am to do that I bring no harm to my family and the ones around me. I pray I can do what is your wish for my time here. :-\

'But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.'
Leviticus Chapter 16 Verse 10
[/b]
There is much to glean in the book of Leviticus though often it is difficult to write about. The events of this chapter however are very clear indeed. Any soul burdened with guilt should find comfort in the story of the scapegoat.
The tabernacle was no doubt built with the spoils of Egypt. It is interesting to note that when the children of Israel were asked to give a free will offering towards the building of the tabernacle and its furniture they did so with a willing heart and more than enough was handed over.
In fact there came a point when Moses had to tell them to stop giving!
Are there days when I take my salvation for granted? The children of Israel showed their gratitude for their deliverance through their offerings. Do I hold back that which is rightfully God's?
Do I ease my conscience through my tithing and think little about any addition offering? Do I truly give my all for the Lord or do I hold back?
Christ Jesus was spent for me. I desire to be spent for Him but am I truly willing to be spent? I often wonder what am I exposing myself to? Am I leaving myself wide open for ridicule, for poverty, for further pain and suffering?
I may hold many fears about a total surrender of body, mind and soul for Jesus, and I may wonder where I will land if I make such a commitment.
If I am to fall anywhere, I truly believe that it will be into the loving and all-powerful arms of Jesus. Them that honour me, I will honour.
I have walked the walk of a Christian for many years now, yet there always seems to be a 'holding back' from total dedication. It is as if it must be put off until another day.
The Lord has asked me to open my mouth wide yet I have shown great reluctance in doing so. I want the blessings and I want His favour, but what of the cost?
The longer I go on the more I see the cost that was paid for me and the less I fear. The more of myself that I give to the Lord the more I receive in return.
It is part of my spiritual education and though I am a stubborn and poor pupil yet His care and patience with me is obvious.
The greatest hindrance to His favour and His blessing is when sin is lying at my door. It need not be any outward sin, nor a sin that any of my fellows may be aware of, but it is sin that I know about and sin that has not been repented of. Sins of commission and sins of omission. I am guilty of both on a daily basis.
Because I have sinned against God, I still try and rectify the problem through my own good works. I would have fitted in well in Galatia! Peace however does not come to my needy soul through anything that I do or have done.
Each and every day I must get back to basics and take my guilty soul to Calvary for cleansing.
There may be times when it is difficult to 'see' Jesus dying on the cross for me.
The Lord however is gracious and He has given us highly visible 'expressions' (I hope that is the right word), of the nature and working of His way of salvation. There is none clearer than the picture we have of the scapegoat.
Aaron having laid both of his hands upon the head of the scapegoat confesses all the iniquities and transgressions of his people.
The goat is then led away from the camp by the hand of a fit man and taken into the wilderness never to be seen again. The goat bears the iniquities into a land that is not inhabited.
Kneeling at the foot of the cross I confess my sins to God. On the cross Jesus is punished for my sins and dies in my room and stead. My sins are taken and laid upon Jesus.
The penalty for these sins is paid through the sacrifice of Jesus. I in turn am found clothed in His righteousness. This is not a reward, it is a gift from God.
This is God's way of saving sinners. His way is perfect and it converts the soul that lies in sin. The confessed and repented sin of a Christian is hidden in Christ.
He bore our sins on the cross at Calvary. He died that we might have life and have it more abundantly.
It is wrong to suffer the guilt of sins which have been repented of. It is as if God's sacrifice is not good enough. Who then is setting the standard?
Is there yet another name whereby we can be saved? No, there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.
His name is Jesus. His blood not only cleanses from all our sins and shortcomings, it also takes away our guilt and replaces it with a peace which passes all understanding.
LOL
Your brother in Christ
Iain

Ps 118:24-29
24 This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
25 O LORD, save us; O LORD, grant us success.
26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. From the house of the LORD we bless you.
27 The LORD is God, and he has made his light shine upon us. With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession up to the horns of the altar.
28 You are my God, and I will give you thanks; you are my God, and I will exalt you.
29 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Good Morning. Pat thank you so much for the link to Christian Answers, I have put it in my favorites.
Iain, Brother it is so good to have you back and thank you for your devotional on the scape goat. I have often wondered if that scapegoat found it's way back into the flock. I also wonder how far away the goat was taken, and what happened to the goat?
Well I looks like I will have to download yahoo messenger , I had it on my old computer but I didn't know how to use it to contact people that I know on yahoo. Some one will have to send me an email telling me how to do it.
SonJa I am trying to remember to put everything in bold so you can read it easily. I am praying for you sister, for a good report on your CT scan.

HI Ria! What is the tempature there? How are those cards coming along? Hope you have good afternoon. Love you!
Got to go, I will be back later.
Sonja
Hi everyone.
Good to see this site so busy this morning and to read the postings from Mieka. Mieka, if you see this, I like the others have missed your postings but are certainly glad to know that you are safe and hopefully well. You will have so many wonderful things to tell us about when you return from your time there.
Papa John, it is also cold here in Georgia. We had our first freeze of the season and frost over everything. However, it is suppose to warm up for the next few days and is a beautiful clear and sunny day today.
In my devotional readings this morning from "My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers I read the following and wanted to share it with my CP friends this morning:
QuoteIn external history the Cross is an infinitesimal thing; from the Bible point of view it is of more importance than all the empires of the world. If we get away from brooding on the tragedy of God upon the Cross in our preaching, it produces nothing. It does not convey the energy of God to man; it may be interesting but it has no power. But preach the Cross, and the energy of God is let loose. "It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe...We preach Christ crucified."
Iain, you were right on target today as well with your devotional thoughts.

Well, I am just as happy and excited as all y'all about "seeing" Mieka here last night (for me) I saw where Pat said she was chatting with her so I opened my Yahoo! chat and took over after Pat had to (finally) go to bed! :P Mieka and I had a good chat and I am hoping she will be able to "learn the sky" so she can figure out the time difference and we can chat again before she leaves for Lhasa. She truly is a ray of sunshine for all of us here, and I know she will also be a blessing in her work there in Lhasa.
I have company coming in a few minutes so I need to get off here and be ready to welcome the lady. Just a few minutes ago it was pouring down rain so hard it was dark outside! I'm glad it has stopped for the moment so my friend can get in from her car without being drowned!
I'll talk with y'all later (hopefully) and wish each of you a wonderful day in the Lord.
Oh.... I am really glad to see JENNY here today. But not so happy about her puter problems. :-\ I pray things get worked out to everyone's satisfaction really soon. Until then know that I miss you and am praying.
Later...... Jane
MIEKA!!! I am sooo happy you were able to get online last night!! But :'( because I didn't know about it so I could talk to you, too! :'( I pray you will adjust to the huge change in altitude and not become sick when you do go back to Lhasa. I miss you so much! And I love you like a duaghter! May I be your Mom? Then you will have a Mum and a Mom! ;) ;D Anyway, I do hope I will get to say something to you if you get online again today!
Sonja, I am praying for a very good report on your CT scan! You are special to me, too!
The Creation Moments for today has a very sobering message. Has the Bible just become an unused Christian Icon??
Papa John, it is so wonderful to read your posts again, and I pray you are continuing to gain strength again. We really miss you when you do not post.
Hello, dear Ria!! Are you still working on your cards? Is it still raining there? Send some to us, we are dry as a two year old bone!
I went swimming again this morning, as my right arm gave me awful pain all night, from my shoulder to my finger tips. I am hoping the exercise will help it. I had missed swimming for a few days.
I have lots to do today to get ready to leave for Nebraska early in the morning. But Meeks if you get online, please page me! I will leave my computer on all day in hopes of talking to you!
Jenny, we miss you when you cannot post, too! Hope those computer problems are solved soon. We love you!
I'd better get busy, or I won't get anything done! Talk to all you nice folks later!
Well, hello everybody! It's pretty cold in our corner of the world today. I confess, I do like it cold. I always fantasize that I live in Alaska and that living in the cold makes me a real man...
Good to hear from Mieka. Sure hope everything continues to go well for her.
It's kinda cool here in my office today, too. Anybody for a cup of hot cocoa?? :)

Hello everyone from a cold East Texas
Nards(who likes the cold weather), just give me a cup of the cocoa and let me look outside at the weather. We have had two nights in a row below freezing... Enough I say. ;D ;D
Pat and Jane More hot cocoa and munchies, a great way to spend indoors. :) :)
Hello to Steelerdirtfreak aka Paul. Welcome aboard.
I want you to know I am also a fan of the Steelers. I usually root for the Dallas Cowboys, but because the Quarter Back for the Steelers is Tommy Maddox. I am intensely rooting for them. I knew Tommy when he was only four years old and my neighbor next door in Lafayette La. We were best of friends of Wayne and Glenda, his parents, and his older brother Mark. Tommy shared many meals with my children back in those days. ;D ;D
Larry thank you for the Oswald Chambers quote, I have been reading "My Utmost For His Highest" for over ten years and never get tired of reading it over each year. I always come away renewed in my spiritual life and marvel at the wisdom in his writings.
Judy B Sorry to hear of the wait on John's surgery, but it may be for the best as God is surely active in it. You mentioned AWANA some of my Grandchildren are active in it.
Papa John good to read your post and was interesting the other day to learn the French meaning of the word I was writing about. Thanks for your comment.
Mieka I never got to know you very well, but you are certainly a bright and shining star the way your name lit up the posts today. :) :)

All this for a donut!
Chris I just stole yuour flicking dollars gif, hope ya don't mind.
I have posted a photo of what it looks like here on the north coast of California today.
Just got home from work a short time ago. I had to go grocery shopping for Bea in the rain today. Coming home form Arcata, the rain came down in sheets and the wipers couldn't keep it off the windshield. Living here I know I am in for this kind of rain from now on until Jesus comes.
Oh Marilyn now you owe me!
Did you take the lot? lol
I didn't count it either!! :(
Night all, 10 pm here.
See y'all tomorrow "God willing and the creeks dont rise," as Hank Williams used to say!
zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Here's a nice card that I received for everyone at CP...

If it doesn't work, let me know, ok?
Thank you Rachelle, may God bless you and yours. :D
Thank you Rachelle.
Rachelle, that was so nice! Thank you very much! And happy thanksgiving to you and yours!
I called my brother's wife this morning to ask what their favorite kind of pie is, so I could make some. She said Custard, Pumpkin and Sour Cream Raisin.......so I made one of each! That took a while! But they are now setting on the counter, cooling. And I hope they taste good!
Everyone must be busy, it is pretty slow here today.
Busy? I was busy, but now I am just sitting around doing laundry. I didn't see any hands early. You all can help me if you like. ;D
Thank you Rachelle! I love the music, very peaceful and calming.
LOL...hahhahaha...Chris, I love that turkey graphic. hahahaha...
Here's another nice message for you all.
It WILL take awhile to load so please be patient.

Chris, your turkey and money graphics are so cute! And thank you for the lovely greeting, too! May God bless you and Margit this Thanksgiving!
Oh, shucks! I missed Mieka. :'(
My daughter emailed me today with a request for instructions for cooking a turkey. She's only been married about 17 years. ::)
We got a dusting of snow last night but it was just about all gone by around 10:00 this morning... except for the mountains where you can still see some. It only got up to around 35 F about noon or 1:00 and has been falling ever since. I can tell because the furnace keeps coming on. But that's OK. I'm so thankful God has provided us with a snug and cozy home.
Oops! How ungrateful must you think I am! :-[ Thanks so much for those lovely greetings!
Pat - when I clicked on your Thanksgiving greeting above., my computer shut down... then I got the "Your password has expired" message again....9I have never put a password on here)., and I was unable to get back on here for 1/2 hour.... soooo, I'm not going to try clicking on it again.
You will have to tell me what I missed!
QuoteLiving here I know I am in for this kind of rain from now on until Jesus comes.
I just got a call from Al and I was chastised and told to repent for this sin. :-[ I shouldn't have said it was gonna rain until Jesus came. We don't want that prophecy to come true. We do have good weather here too. ;D ;D
HAHAHA! Marilyn, you are a hoot!
And so is Al Moak!
Sorry you couldn't open that file, Judy.
Well Marilyn, that's better. Let it never happen again!
Pat - I clicked on your clickable, was told I needed Shockwave (which I do). So I went to the site, downloaded Shockwave, and I still wasn't able to open it. Have any ideas?
Real Audio or Real Player will play it.
The file is on this site. You aren't going to an offsite to play it.
Any player that will play .WAV files should play that file.
REAL PLAYER (http://www.real.com/realoneplayer.html?pp=home&src=111003realhome_1_3_2_1_1)
(Make sure you're downloading the FREE version)
I too am sorry that I missed you Mieka. I hope and pray that you stay well and are able to come back and say Hi now and then.
The snow, light dusting that it was, has stayed on the ground all day. I guess that means that it is brrrrrr cold enough to keep. Yuck. I guess that also means that the shovelling days are going to begin. Yuck! and Ouch...my back!
Now to get some banking done. Have a good evening everyone.
Marilyn I understand hou you feel about the rain thing. You come from the desert so this is a novelty and a nuisance all in one. ::)
When David was here for the family reunion it rainned in the morning and he commented that he rarely saw rain in LA.
I have gone through this document Pat, Oh how I wish I was 3 doors away again. I have more typing to do. GRRRRR i really am getting waterlogged with info.
Rachelle thankyou for the greetings,
I am going,
Be back later.
JudyB
Actually JudyB I am not FROM the desert, I was only there for 10 years. I am from Stockton 50 miles south of Sacramento In the San Joaquin Valley. Central California.
The rain doesn't really bother me, sometimes even it the desert there was a lot of rain.
Well... I was able to listen to all the links that Pat put in here and all I can say is: THANKS SO MUCH, RACHELLE AND CHRIS! I have nothing to reciprocate with however :-\ Just know I wish all y'all a very wonderful day of THANKSGIVING and the weather can come or go (which it usually does) it won't matter. As Mieka says: "This is the day the Lord has made so we should rejoice and be glad in it!"
I'll be back ... got some stuff to take care of. :-\

Silver Bells (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/christmas/silver-bells.mid)
(Click to hear music)
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks .
Dressed in holiday style
In the air
There's a feeling
of Christmas
Children laughing
People passing
Meeting smile after smile
and on ev'ry street corner you'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day
Strings of street lights
Even stop lights
Blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush
home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch
See the kids bunch
This is Santa's big scene
And above all this bustle
You'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, gear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day

Thanks, Pat! I just love "Silver Bells" and that is a very good version of it! ;D ;D ;D
Hey Jeanne,
How about instructions on how to thaw a turkey-lol how long per pound etc..lol
I miss my Mom at these critical times-I am up for adoption if anyone wants a daughter lol.
Hugs
Rachelle
Rachelle you better start thawing it now., in the fridge it will take a couple of days. Or you can put it in cold water.
I had someone tell me today that she put her turkey out in the sun for a few hours. I don't know that--that is a good idea though.
Rachelle, if you have anything bigger than about 12 pounds and haven't thawed it out yet in the refrigerator you'll probably have to use the cold water treatment. Don't try leaving it out on the counter to thaw at room temperature, that can breed deadly bacteria. It should either be in the refrigerator for about 24 hours per 10 pounds or put it (wrapped) under cold running water for an hour for every 5 pounds. And remember, don't add the stuffing until you're ready to put it in the oven.
Here you are, Rachelle...

When Bernard and I went to the Grand Canyon, it rained on us almost the whole way from the Phoenix airport to the GC. I was bewildered. 8)
And Rachelle, you don't want cooking tips from me. My "blurb" under the profile pic used to state "Culinarily challenged." I would be careful about defrosting it at room temp. or warmer; it does need to stay cool to keep bacteria and other nasties from growing. yuck.
I just got another email from my daughter - now she's decided she'll stuff it after all and wanted my recipe. I sent her the one I used, as did my mother, my grandmother and my great-grandmother. Family tradition lives on! ;D
By the way, Rachelle, consider yourself cyberly adopted! ;D ;D ;D
I will be eating twice once with Al and Mrbeth then again later At Sarah's parents. I am taking a bottle of Sparkling Cider She wouldn'tlet me bring anything else.
This evening Sarah brought me some chicken enchiladas. MMMMMGood. guess I look around the forums and call it a night. I only have to work an hour and a half tomorrow. Long enough to go grocery shopping.
We're early tonight.
I'm still working on my Avon order and just must get it done.
Please continue talking in the new topic..
I found the link of the day very interesting. You might too!
