Morning Devotional...But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
1 Timothy 3:15
At the close of meetings on the Tabernacle, my son, who was just nine or ten, said to the speaker, George Heidman, "Uncle George, I'm one of those pillars."
He had learned the lesson well. Those sixty individual pillars held up the exterior white linen wall of the Tabernacle.
What a picture of the believer in his responsibility to uphold the Lord Jesus to the world.
The church is the "pillar and ground of truth," and we are upholding Christ to the world.
--James ComteIn this world all crumbling round us,
happy have God's people stood;
Resting on the Rock of Ages,
pillars in the house of God.
I'm sure hoping that Mieka can get in tonight.
I'll be watching for her after I get my Avon order completed.
All you folks talking about your turkey dinners and great food for Thursday and I just had my student call and I'll be at the Dental College! ::)
Awwww. :'(
Just for you, Jeanne!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/christmas/its-beginning-to-look-a-lot-like-christmas.mid)
(Click to hear music)
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Toys in ev'ry store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.
A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben;
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen;
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.

Gee, thanks. I thought I told you to give me at least another six months.
I can't believe how many people have their outdoor decorations up - and lit! already. Private homes, not even businesses. It's become a one-upmanship situation - a decorate earlier than your neighbor challenge, and not a celebration of the birth of our Blessed Savior.
I, for one, am ready for the holidays. Bernad accuses me of looking forward to Christmas more than actually enjoying Christmas day! ::)
Mieka, if you peek in here {{{{{{{{{{ :-*}}}}}}}}}}}
I teach an "early" class tomorrow, so I am outta here!

I may have a new profile photos for y-all after thanksgiving. New haircolor, tee hee.
Can't wait, Marilyn!
I hope Mieka looks in here too, Pat!
You can ditch the dentist and come over here for thanksgiving. ;D
I love all the Christmas lights and the feel of the holidays, but I don't much care for Christmas...does that make sense? ::)
This laundry duty makes a person <yawn> tired.
I think I will head to bed.
Night all!
ooops I am so tired I forgot to make the text bigger.
Christmas.............
I believe Christians celebrate Christmas twice on the same day. By "Tradition", we celebrate the commercial Christmas taught to us by our parents when we were children. We decorate trees, and place lights on the exterior of our homes. We decorate our homes with Christmas cards, and we share gifts, and have a big turkey dinner. Our other Christmas day starts with a prayer of thankfulness for God's having sent His son to save us for His pleasure and glory. Throughout the days festivities we never for one moment forget the true meaning of this most joyful of occasions. As a family, we share our love for our Lord and witness our faith with friends and neighbors. Our witness is the fruit of our faith, and when evening comes we know that we are at peace with our Savior.
We celebrate the real meaning of Christmas.
Thanks Lee! That's how we always celebrated too. I remember with fondness listening to Dad read the Bible before our big turkey dinner each year.
I feel really great tonight I have an adopted mother and an adopted sister-thank you :) you put a smile in my heart...
I did have the turkey out on the counter so pray it has nothing in it -I prayed over it-i stuck it in the fridge-however its been in the 20's here so hopefully I will be ok---Thank You all who gave me turkey hints..
Karmat your too funny--
I have a wonderful husband who is treating me to taking the kids sledding why I cook lol on Thursday so I get a day all to myself-to cook of course hehe...
Tonight he gave me the night off on cooking!
One of these days I will get him on here-and introduce him to all of you..
Hugs
Rachelle
Thank You Pat
For all the sites on the Turkey Defrosting Directions lol-
I love my Mothers recipe for stuffing and will use it again this year-however Jeanne I would like to have yours too-please send it in-
jjoyfulhrt@aol.com
Sonja How come you don't like Christmas? Is it because of all the commercialized things? It was hard for me to enjoy the Holidays after my Parents died-because it just wasn't the same-but then I thought that I needed to celebrate for my Children-It is a joy for me to see their precious happy faces when they do get gifts-however they don't get a whole lot-but, what they do get their happy with-we don't celebrate with Santa anymore-haven't for a couple of years and we celebrate the birth of Jesus..Usually every year I try and bake a cake for Jesus and we sing happy birthday to him-this is something i started a few years ago-
Anyway may all of you be blessed today-
Rachelle

I'm new to this forum and looking forward meeting brothers and sisters who love His creation and enjoy photographing it!
I am producing a children's television ministry called HIS nature which is both a God glorifying nature show and a disclipship ministry.
In Him,
Larry Watts
Hi everyone. Hi Larry Watts and welcome.
Up early, at least for me, and have had my devotional time and now read through the postings here in NEM. A very nice way to get the day started. It is about 36 degrees here this morning but the sun is coming up so should be a beautiful day.
My wife has decided we will have our Thanksgiving meal on Thursday. Our son will be coming over then to share it with us. She and her sister spent a good part of the day yesterday making preparations and I am sure more work on the meal will be done today. It is always amazing how quickly the meal is eaten considering the many hours of preparation. However, those hours are filled with love that culminates in the meal shared together as a family and with special friends.
Jenny, glad to see you were able to at least post.
Ria, hope that telephone problem is fixed. I found the CP site was down for at least a little bit yesterday afternoon as wasn't able to make a post or read here.
Jeanne, it seems that the Christmas decorations so up earlier every single year. However, have seen only one house in our neighborhood that has its Christmas lights turned on in the evenings.
Pat, that quote of the day in the devotional this morning certainly seems to be truer each and every year.
Well, it is time to go up to the cafe for coffee this morning. Hope everyone has a delightful day.
Good morning everyone! It's been ages since I've had the opportunity to come here! I just got back late Monday night from a weekend trip to New Brunswick. It took us almost sixteen hours to drive it! But we had such a wonderful time with Luke's home church! We had gone to meet with the pastor who is going to officiate our wedding for us.
I did manage to get some shots though, but I wonder how they'll turn out because I haven't really learned how to use my new camera very well. I have to see if I can get the chance to get them developed today. And if I can, I'll email them to Pat, so she can send the links back to me so I can post them here.
Well, mom's getting the Christmas lights ready here today. We like to put a few strings of lights up since we don't do a Christmas tree. And it's something nice for the kids too. I used to have a little nativity scene that went up every year, but it was rather old and broken down. I'd love to get another one someday.
I am sorry I seem to have missed so much around here. It's been so hectic! I'll try to be back soon to update everyone on what's been going on around here. HI PAT! God bless you all. Jen.
We are driving to our daughter's home today and staying for several nights. Sunday afternoon, we decorated the inside of the house so it would be ready when we return. Don threw away the wood manger he made years ago as it was just falling apart but the figurines for the manger are just as beautiful as ever - I purchased them years ago at an after-Christmas sale. The fake tree is up and we only use that for safety sake. Most of the other decorations are hand-made and very sentimental. This year, I am sorting once again and have a box to distribute to the children and they can decide whether to keep or donate to charity.
We spent yesterday at the shelter and there must be a reason the Lord led us to volunteer with the homeless - at the moment, this sounds strange, but these people are becoming our friends. There are some lovely souls in the shelter and we are having wonderful conversations. I used to wash dishes for a couple of hours each time until they told me that it was the work of the "guests" and so I happily gave up that job yesterday - my back was happy too.
Pat: I will be thinking of you at the dentist's chair tomorrow. Do hope that all of this dental work will be over for you soon.
Larry: Have a peaceful Thanksgiving dinner with your family.
Etta Sue: Enjoy the day and say hello to Jerry as well.
Peace to all. Carol
We have our Christmas lights up in October but don't turn them on till December. If we wait till December toput them up it ia way too cold and they don't go up. It is a matter of convenience to have them up so early.
I love Christmas. I always have. I don't teach about Santa, the kids know he is just a man who entertains the little kids. I have taught the real meaning of Christmas with all the legends being just that legends. The man St Nicolas and his story has been incorporated into lessons of giving to others, and not expecting to receive back. Christmas day is a day of family times and fun, not presents, but ,we do exchange gifts, although that is not the focus. I love everything aboout Christmas from the lights to the shopping, family time and the worship services at church.
Jenny Jenny Jenny It is so good to see you back, I have missed your posts. I have been praying for you dear.
Rachelle you have another sister here! Love you.

Well have to go, Art and french today
Bye for now

Good Morning, Thank you for the devotional Pat. Wonderful as always. Sorry I forgot to tell you that last night when I posted before I went to bed. I am now a paying member of DPC. So will have to start posting some photos, I posted two in the "post your favorite puppy or dog photo" thread. They are photos that have already been here.
Jenny:
Thank you for your prayers sister, I did send an email but your have not received it. So we will jsut have to wait until you get all fixed up and working again.
Well I am off to look at the other threads here. Be back Later.
Welcome to you Larry Watts, I'm looking forward to seeing your photos and your web site if you have one.
Good morning/evening all!!!
I just lost the most eloquent post!!!! I wrote so much information about moi! So maybe cyberspace decided it was 'too much information' and deleted it for me.
Anyway, I didn't get to see Rachelle's card but I sure did hear Chris' wonderful voice on my Sound Recorder!!! Also updated Real Player to RealOne Player. That took a long time...could be why I lost my post...multi-tasking with Windows 98 SE isn't the best thing to do.
I HAVE NEVER FIXED A TURKEY! NEVER DID, NEVER WILL!! I am sure I could but what would I do with a whole turkey when the most in my family has been three. Jerry and I will be going to Ivalou's for dinner tomorrow. Her two daughter's and their families are coming from Ohio. Her son and family will come tomorrow evening for left-overs. So it will be a stuffed day!!!
I am tracking Tony and Charlene. Tony has text messaging on his cell phone. I get these one line emails from him. They spent the night at Holiday Inn at exit 11 on I-70 in West Virginia. They have went through the Blue Mountain tunnel on the turnpike this morning. Last email says they are on I-81 now. BTW, they are headed to Groton, Conneticut, to see grandson, Donovan, and his parents, Audrey and Vince. Vince is stationed there in the Navy.
I am doing laundry now. Will fix some lunch soon. Then will make my layered salad for my donation to tomorrow's meal. »ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«

.................
hey ya'll
just getting ready to take a trip to amarillo before hugoton. we dont' ahve school today. yesterday was the schools thanksgiving meal and today is my dad's side of the family's thanks giving meal. tomorrow we will go to garden city for my mom's side. last night we had a game played the best we could against them (the best we've played in 4 years) lost to them by 15-25 i don't remember the final score. so i'm still a little sore from that. heres a prayer i got in email that i'd like to share with ya'll:
The Prayer of a School Child
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
ttyl bye for now

QuoteBy Rachelle~Sonja How come you don't like Christmas?
I don't like the rushing around trying to get shopping done. Mike, my husband has to work late hours at night because he is delivers packages and we don't get to see him much. :(
Every year on Christmas Eve our family makes Birthday cards for Jesus. We spend the day discussing his birth. We also make a gingerbread house and Christmas/birthday cookies.
We don't do the santa thing either.
This year we will start a new tradition. We are going to buy gifts after Christmas. The boys are the ones who thought of this. It will be interesting to see what happens and if we stick to it. QuoteBy Ria

It is nice to meet you, Larry. Your television show sounds interesting. I think we need more shows that talk about the real making of things. Will this be on cable tv or will it be on video tapes? Can't wait to see your photos.
Sarah~That poem is so sad! Thanks for sharing it. I will share it with my kids. Have a fun holiday!
Hahaha I just ran down to my neighbors to check out an orange thing which we hadn't seen before. This neighbour is away trucking most of the time. Well thinking someone was checking out the house, I went down to see what "he" wanted. HAhahahaha we were looking at an upsidedown wheelbarrow. LOL That was my laugh for the day.
We also have had problems with virus worms and other things here. The server I deal with was telling me that the worm causes bottlenecks in the system as excess mail causes the jam ups. I have fortunately escaped any problems.
The day here is indeed beautiful. Sun is shining the temp is +5*C and just a skiff of snow on the ground.
Well I am off for North Bay
Cheerio till tonight.

I am trying a new server.....advised that a large number of people are leaving Virgin..They told me lots of things .cost me a huge telephone bill, as it's a 50 pence per minute Technical Helpline. I am advised that aol.com is a better prospect...
Virgin has had serious problems for a month but they didn't admit it to me....Seems the routing between Europe and the U.S.A. is out on Virgin.net.....whatever that means!. No wonder Richard Branson is a millionaire!
Mr. Nachi worm is still sitting here looking at me...He's been disinfected by Panda. Mr Sobig is a worry...He's in the hard drive!!! Who needs a Technician when we have Jesus? Thanks Lord...I love you!
God is good...Praise Him...I will get sorted...be back..
Don't e mail me..I have to set up something new, by the grace of God! I pray that I shall be able to get onto the Web more freely and receive some e mails...I miss you folks....However, I can get here, just have to sit and wait patiently for the site to warm up......"In their patience they shall possess their souls".
Love and prayers...

NO! No! Jenny not AOL. See the im I sent you.
Jenny, Hello to you, we have been with AOL for about four years and very little trouble.
OH and by the way,, if I recommend you to AOL they send me £ 30!!!!
Martha Stewart will not be dining with us this
Thanksgiving. I'm telling you in advance, so don't act
surprised. Since Ms. Stewart won't be coming, I've
made a few small changes:
1. Our sidewalk will not be lined with homemade, paper
bag luminaries. After a trial run, it was decided that
no matter how cleverly done, rows of flaming lunch
sacks do not have the desired welcoming effect.
2. Once inside, our guests will note that the entry
hall is not decorated with the swags of Indian corn
and fall foliage I had planned to make. Instead, I've
gotten the kids involved in the decorating by having
them track in colorful autumn leaves from the front
yard. The mud was their idea.
3. The dining table will not be covered with expensive
linens, fancy china, or crystal goblets. If possible,
we will use dishes that match and everyone will get a
fork. Since this IS Thanksgiving, we will refrain from
using the plastic Peter Rabbit plate and the Santa
napkins from last Christmas.
4. Our centerpiece will not be the tower of fresh
fruit and flowers that I promised. Instead we will be
displaying a hedgehog-like decoration hand-crafted
from the finest construction paper. The artist assures
me it is a turkey.
5. We will be dining fashionably late. The children
will entertain you while you wait. I'm sure they will
be happy to share every choice comment I have made
regarding Thanksgiving, pilgrims and the turkey
hotline. Please remember that most of these comments
were made at 5:00 a.m. upon discovering that the
turkey was still hard enough to cut diamonds. As
accompaniment to the children's recital, I will play a
recording of tribal drumming. If the children should
mention that I don't own a recording of tribal
drumming, or that tribal drumming sounds suspiciously
like a frozen turkey in a clothes dryer, ignore them.
They are lying.
6. We toyed with the idea of ringing a dainty silver
bell to announce the start of our feast. In the end,
we chose to keep our traditional method. We've also
decided against a formal seating arrangement. When the
smoke alarm sounds, please gather around the table and
sit where you like. In the spirit of harmony, we will
ask the children to sit at a separate table ... in a
separate room ... next door.
7. Now, I know you have all seen pictures of one
person carving a turkey in front of a crowd of
appreciative onlookers. This will not be happening at
our dinner. For safety reasons, the turkey will be
carved in a private ceremony. I stress "private"
meaning: Do not, under any circumstances, enter the
kitchen to laugh at me. Do not send small,
unsuspecting children to check on my progress. I have
an electric knife. The turkey is unarmed. It stands to
reason that I will eventually win. When I do, we will
eat.
8. I would like to take this opportunity to remind my
young diners that "passing the rolls" is not a
football play. Nor is it a request to bean your sister
in the head with warm tasty bread.
9. Oh, and one reminder for the adults: For the
duration of the meal, and especially while in the
presence of you diners, we will refer to the giblet
gravy by its lesser-known name: Cheese Sauce. If a
young diner questions you regarding the origins or
type of Cheese Sauce, plead ignorance. Cheese Sauce
stains.
10. Before I forget, there is one last change. Instead
of offering a choice among 12 different scrumptious
desserts, we will be serving the traditional pumpkin
pie, garnished with whipped cream and small
fingerprints. You will still have a choice; take it or
leave it.

Glad you got that Karma. I knew you would like it.
Chris thanks for not inviting Marth Stewart. I can't handle all the decorations.
edit. I forgot to tell you I'll be there in a jiffy as soon as I wax my broom.
I went on a website once to see who Martha Stewart is/was?
Mrs Perfection is she?
I guess she just does not make all you ladies jealous yes? :) :D
Not particularly, Chris. I would rather not be trying to avoid a jail term for insider trading. :P
Martha Stewart, I am NOT, and one look at my house would prove that!!

This Worm Gives God the Glory
Job 36:3
"I will fetch my knowledge from afar; I will ascribe righteousness to my Maker."
Scientists have finally completed the first genetic map of an animal, and the results have the signature of our Creator all over them. This animal is the nematode, a very small worm. Even though it has only about a 1,000 cells, it is very much like more complex animals. It has a nervous system, a brain, and it reproduces sexually. Scientists picked the species because, being transparent, it would be easier to work with.
Scientists had thought that the six-chromosome worm would have about 6,000 genes. But after they examined the 97 million bases in its DNA, they discovered that it has about 20,000 genes. They believe that about 3,000 of those genes are essential for all animal and human cells. This means that as scientists learn about these genes, they will also be gaining knowledge about those same genes in our bodies. The most important genes are clustered in the center of each chromosome, while the less essential genes are positioned at the end of each chromosome. They noted that the most important of the genes have more protection in the center of the chromosome.
Not only is the genetic code of this nematode much more complex than originally thought, but also, it is elegantly designed. The genetic code itself is a sophisticated information system which could never have come about by chance. But now we learn that our all-wise Creator has also given special protection to the most essential of our genes by placing them in the middle of the chromosomes. The more we learn about how we are made, the more of the glory of our Creator we see in His excellent work.
Prayer: Father, I thank You that we are so wondrously made. Help me never fear that new knowledge will take Your glory away. Amen.

A HAPPY THANKS GIVING
to everyone
It is fun to read of the events for everyone here.
I am still in the Chengdu today but I will go to the Lhasa tomorrow on the holiday. (it is not a holiday here at all)
I will have a celebration on this Saturday to honor all who have been a help to me in my life. It is how we have a Thanks Giving each year with my family. This year I will honor each of YOU my friends. You are all a help to me and I thank you.
I will stay in the Lhasa with my friend Ms Olivia for some months. Her husband he did die on the 29 and all of my family will honor him each year. It is a day of prayer for me and a day to remember the ones I love and the ones I hope to see again in the Heaven. Many friends will be with us to share the day and I am excite to see them all together again.
For this Holiday I wish for you all the love of family and friends all around you. I pray you are all safe where you travel and I hope you will make a small plate of food for a homless family and take a time to share the love with others who have nothing at all.
I love you all,
and I love you God.
mi eka chi choy
I hope you are taking it easy Pat.

Oh boy did you ever take me on a nostalgic trip............ :-*
"Coming in on a wing and a prayer" Oh how the free world has forgotten the importance and depth of those heart wretching words. :'(
I got the results back from the CT scan.
It shows that I might have aneurusym the lower right side of my brain. I think the doctor said it was in the cerebellar artery. He is going to try to set up an apointment in Rapid City, South Dakato for a MRI angiogram(sp) :(
I am a bit scared, not sure how to take all this, but I will keep my spirits up untill I find out for sure.
I could use some prayers. Thanks!!!!

Sonja you will have lotsd of prayer from me just be sure you let us know all the dates and proceedures. OK?
Mieka Happy Thanksgiving your way to you.
Well The 94 yr.old lady has called in to the office today to tell them that she has to let me go because of my car windows. They want me to try to talk her out of it. However, the good news is they have given me a referral to another job I will meed with the family after church on Sunday.
Dear Sonja, try not to be scared, you belong to Jesus, He gave Himself for your salvation, yes I know how frightening sudden news can be, but, the LORD has shown the doctors the problem in plenty of time, so be as calm as you can, all will be well, He is in control of your life,
Everyone on here will pray for you and with you, and you will feel the peace that only Jesus can give.
Father God, thank You for pointing out the problem, now Father give Your daughter Your peace, knowing that she is in the hands of One Who loves her most greatly.
May all go quickly and surely, and Sonja be restored fit and well in the very near future, we praise You Father in Jesus Name,
amen.
All here love you sweetheart, and we shall all hold you up.
Thanks Marilyn! (((hug)))
Thanks Chris! I needed that! ((hug)) :'(
Ahhhhhh you will be fine lass,
you will be stronger after today.
Sonja...........
Now is the time to read and truly believe Romans 8:28. "All things work together for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose."
Dear Lord, our prayers are oft selfish, because we call upon you frequently when we believe we need you most. Forgive us for our selfish ways, and help us to look to You as you work for Your own purposes. We do look to you dear Lord, and we know that you are always with us and are completely in charge. "All things [do] work together for YOUR good, and for YOUR glory. As your saints, members of YOUR Church, we seek your glory in YOUR perfect will with Sonja.
Amen Lee.
There is a "Pray for Sonja" thread in prayers if you would like to transfer your prayers over there. Just copy and paste them and delete the one here.
Thank you Marilyn and Lee that we can join in prayer.
Yes Lee, a wing and a prayer indeed.

No turkey here tomorrow, just Gene's favorite meat loaf. Together with baked white potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, and peas. I'll make a loaf of fresh bread and we'll finish off with lemon meringue pie (Gene's all time favorite) and authentic Pennsylvania Dutch shoo fly pie.
Sure is a lot different from the days when there was a 22-25 pound turkey roasting (since before dawn) and we had three vegetables and at least three pies - pumpkin (with whipped cream), shoo fly and sour cream - and maybe apple with ice cream or cheese. There were bowls of nuts and dishes of stuffed dates and dried figs in the living room, as well as after-dinner mints. There were five of us then - three teenage apetites - and always at least one of my husband's brothers or sisters with their brood. By the time the dishes were done I was always ready to collapse and couldn't wait for the company to go home.
Oh, yes - I almost forgot. Cole slaw, applesauce and homemade cranberry sauce, too.
I'm hungry now Jeanne.
11.20 p.m.
Lee thanks brother....Yes I did think of the words from the wartime song..."Coming in on a wing and a prayer"......
For me it truly is a prayer, and the wings of "A Dove"... that get me on line at the moment...Gosh I have just been notified again by Panda that they have neutralized Nachi A....trouble is it comes back again each time I log on....a floppy disk would do the job but don't think we can get one onto here....P'raps when we have a server that can keep us on line I can get something else downloaded...
My friend Carol and Helen my daughter speak well of AOL...time will tell.
Marilyn, no company can be worse than our first server., B.T. Openworld......A nightmare scenario ensued with them!
It is icily cold here tonight. I am very tired but my bedroom is rather chilly...the outside wall is so cold...seems to have wind chill at the moment...I have a little heater in there but these nights not sufficient. ...Oh well, time to get my hot water bottle ready!
Jeanne I feel hungry too...save some for me....I love coleslaw!...also Lemon meringue pie....
Good night dear ones, from England,
God Bless,
Sleep tight (especially Pat),
Jenny XXX
Hello Everyone
I am currently reading the book "The Night Cometh" by Paul W. Powell. I would like to share a portion of what he has to say about Prayer.
"Translated, the Hebrew word "pray" means "to intercede, to entreat, to make supplication". Prayer is the secret of every great spiritual life. Watching Jesus, the disciples concluded that prayer was the secret of his great life.
Thus, they asked him, "Lord, teach us to pray." They never asked the Lord to teach them to preach, as important as his preaching was; they never asked the Lord to teach them to heal, as spectacular as his miracles were; they never asked him to teach them to interpret scripture, as insightful as his interpretations were. But they did ask him to teach them to pray, for they realized that it was the secret to his great life.
As someone once said, "God has only one son who lived without sin. He has had no sons who lived without prayer". :) :)
I wish you all a great and happy Thanksgiving Day. Where ever you live take the time to give God the thanks for all you are and all you have. :) :)
