Morning Devotional...

A Portal to Glory

Numbers 6:22-27.
"And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 'Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel.  Say to them:
'The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.'' So they shall put My Name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.
"

The last words of this Aaronic blessing are fabulous!  In them God Himself says, "and I will bless them."  These five words lift the entire blessing out of the realm of ritual.  They raise it to the level of CERTAINTY!  The blessing is a priestly prayer which the Lord God promises to answer!

I'm just going to explain the words of this blessing by way of paraphrase, and my hope is that you'll take it quite personally.

In other words, then, the blessing says, "The Lord will approve you and keep you in that approval.  The Lord will smile upon you and give you all His favor.  The Lord will remove from you the curse that is upon all humanity and bring you to oneness with Himself eternally!"

It's a statement of what shall be the true condition of absolutely every one of His redeemed people - forever!

O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/ebenezer.mpga)
(Click to hear music)

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:39

Author:  S. Trevor Francis, 1834-1925
Musician:  Thomas John Williams, 1869-1944

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!
Rolling as a mighty ocean
in its fullness over me!
Underneath me, all around me,
is the current of Thy love
Leading onward, leading homeward
to Thy glorious rest above!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
spread His praise from shore to shore!
How he loveth, ever loveth,
changeth never, nevermore!
How he watches o'er His loved ones,
died to call them all His own;
How for them He intercedeth,
watcheth o'er them from the throne!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
love of every love the best!
'Tis an ocean full of blessing,
'tis a haven giving rest!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
'tis a heaven of heavens to me;
And it lifts me up to glory,
for it lifts me up to Thee!

Al, what a great devotional today!

I must say that this has really blessed my heart...

"The Lord will approve you and keep you in that approval.  The Lord will smile upon you and give you all His favor.  The Lord will remove from you the curse that is upon all humanity and bring you to oneness with Himself eternally!"

How precious and what love!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!
Rolling as a mighty ocean
in its fullness over me!
Underneath me, all around me,
is the current of Thy love
Leading onward, leading homeward
to Thy glorious rest above!

Thanks so much for these thoughts today, Al.

Well, heh now.  What a time to come check on CP.  All this talk about my gallery will go to my head if you don't stop. ;D  Seriously, thank you.  Sometimes I do get bored taking the same old pictures in the same old places.  Know what I mean?  But then I've lived here at the ocean for a very long while and it gets to all look alike.  It really blesses me to read that you think I'm doing ok.  Thanks, Karmat and Pat.  From you two, it really means something.

The picture of Bandon beach was taken over a year ago.  The women in my family, sisters, neices, daughters, grandaughter....we all stayed at a vacation rental for two days and just got silly and loved on each other.  We also, most all loving photography, took lots of pictures.  We were lined up on the cliff, taking pics of the sunset in different stages. haha

Janet, I looked at your pictures.  Got to see two of your grandkids. :)

Al, your devotional blessed me.  God has been speaking to me again about what it means to be IN Christ.  I find the blessing, the prayer that you posted just shows me that all of this blessing is ours IN Christ.  The Lord's provision is beyond my understanding.  I just receive it because He has given so much for me to have it.

I'm in awe at our Father's plan for His children.

You're a dear sister Nita!  And so are you, Pat.  I'm entirely convinced that being in awe of God's wonderful provision for us - being overwhelmed by His wonderful grace - is very, very strong evidence for your inclusion in it!  Pat - I was just now reading again that hymn, and it truly moved me once again.

It's a hymn that was wonderully illustrated to me the first time I heard it.  There was a group of, maybe 25 or so of us Intervarsity Christian Fellowship college-age young people, and we were down near the water's edge on the beach in the evening, a bonfire burning behind us and illuminating the waves.  All around us was the wonderful sound of one wave after another coming up, crashing, then returning to the mighty ocean.  We all stood together singing this hymn.  Oh what an experience!  One of the fellows gave a little devotional after we had sung, but, believe me, the waves had already preached it!

Good morning!  It's still really cold and really windy here.  Beth is to call and see if her shoes/brace are in, and if they aren't, we are NOT going to Dodge today. BRRRRR!

Al, I fully agree with your devotional today.  God loves His kids and only wants the very best for us.  His provisions, His blessings are beyond human comprehension!  How I love my Father God!  <3  Thank you for that.  I have never heard the song before.

I am off to look at the rest of Nita's gallery!  You do take such lovely photos, Nita.

Good Morning, Hey AL that is one great devotional this mornig. Thank you for posting the Aaronic blessing and the paraphrase.

Raining again this morning, but  am nice and warm here by the heater. My tea is steeping and I will soon be warmer on the inside.

Janet  looked at your photos last night and I  will look at Nita's again to see if there are some new ones. I like seeing the photos up top Pat. But as of yesterday no one had commented on my sunset that have been there for months. I will check again today.

Hi everyone.  I am just going to pop in and out today as I have been writing such long postings.  We are having rain and it is chilly here today.  The housekeeper is here and the yard people were here and worked in the rain blowing the leaves off the yard.  I don't have many as all but two of the trees are on my back property line.

I am one of the ones guilty of not taking the time to look at and comment on the photos.  I need to do better but am not making any promises.  Guess I could at least say I was there since I really have no expertise in the photography area.  However, I do know what is pleasing to my eye.

Janet, hope you don't have to drive to Dodge City today.  I saw there were some tornados last night in Kansas.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Thank you for the link to FlyLady.

Thank you for Janet learning to upload photos to the Gallery.

I also added four photos to the gallery of some orchids that I took photos of last Friday.  Hope you take a look and enjoy.

Church was awesome yesterday.  I don't think I over did it pain-wise on my hips/legs.  Don't feel any worse today than Saturday.  Just will be glad when the pain is gone.  I like unexpected visitors but this one is here tooooooo long.

I went last evening to Ivalou's church for Talent Show night.  Great talent in this small church.  There was 15 on the roster...everything from a sax player to the Chime Chorus.  Wonderful.  Of course, my favorite was a Senior boy/man singing "I Can Only Imagine".

Today it is cloudy, raining and I am going to drive 40 miles to my Small Groups tonight.  I don't like driving in the rain but at least, it is lesser traveled roadways.

God Bless You, One and All!!

Lily of the Valley  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/lily-of-the-valley.mid)
(Click to hear music)

I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.
Song of Solomon 2:1

Words: Charles W. Fry, 1881; first appeared in the Salvation Army's The War Cry, December 29, 1881.
Fry wrote the lyrics in Lincoln, England, while working with the Salvation Army there.

Music: William S. Hays; adapted by Charles W. Fry

I have found a friend in Jesus, He's everything to me,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He's my comfort, in trouble He's my stay;
He tells me every care on Him to roll.

Refrain
He's the Lily of the Valley,
the Bright and Morning Star,
He's  the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
In temptation He's my strong and mighty tower;
I have all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
From my heart and now He keeps me by His power.
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal.

Refrain

He will never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear,
From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
Where the rivers of delight shall ever roll.

Refrain

No, Larry, I didn't have to go to Dodge today.  Her shoes/brace were not there, so we will go on Friday, when the orthopedist comes from Wichita.  That way, we can do it all in one trip.

I have a big pot of soup simmering for supper.  That sounded good to me on this very cold day.

Pat, maybe Al is trying to warm us all up by making us think it is May!  ;)

I need to go work on some framing, but first, I am going to see Etta Sue's orchids!

Thanks Al for the rememberence.

This is one benediction that I will always remember. Funny thing is I am reading Numbers right now and I had just read that.  Cool !

It is the one thing (well, perhaps there are more) I miss since leaving the Lutheran Church.

Oh yes, other things I miss:  The Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed.  We do say/use them, but not often enough for my satisfaction.

Hey Janet!  That's probably what Al Moak was doing...warming us all up!

Boy!  Your soup sounds good.  Think I'll go and get a can of soup and heat it up--not as good as homemade but that would mean I'd have to go out to the store and get some stuff.

So I'll make do today.

Pat, please just come over here for soup, I made a huge pot of it, and it's smelling good! :)

I am feeling blue this afternoon.  My sweet husband seems to be having heart problems again.  It started yesterday morning, and the episodes are coming closer together.  So we have an appointment for him with his heart doctor in Amarillo on Thursday.  Life gets complicated.....Beth has to be in Dodge on Friday; and if they keep Darrel even overnight, there is no way I can take her to Dodge.  My friend Pat says she will take her if someone can come help her get Beth into the car and load the wheelchair.  I have also spoken to a couple other people about it, so surely something will work out. :-\

Please friends, will you be praying for Darrel?  Thanks so much.

I'm glad you're all warmed up over this thing!  But it says November 28 on there.  You can't prove now that it ever said otherwise.

Ed- I really love those old creeds too, but I'd really prefer to read them on my own.  The problem is that many times when they're read in the church service they're not read meaningfully, and it's just a ritual.  The benediction, however, is different, because God said to do it.

Janet, I'm so sorry that Darrel is having heart problems.  I will be praying with the others here.  Yes, life sure does get complicated.  I'm praying for your strength too, as you just keep going, and going, and going....

My sister told me that the doctor found some "heart stuff" with her.  She's believing that he'll just get on to her about diet and exercise(she's overweight)and she had already started on that.  I'm sure that God is just whispering in her ear....a wake up call to keep the momentum going.

I made a pot of soup that I finished for lunch today.  I'm glad it's gone.  I had it for three days.   It had everything "but the kitchen sink" in it.  I couldn't get Angel to eat it because it had kidney beans in it.

It's been raining most of the day and feels chilly.  The wind is up so that makes it chillier still.  Hmmmm.  Feels like December to me.  Must be just around the corner.  It would be nice to have just a tad bit of snow.  Just enough for the kids to have one snow day. :)  It'll probably never happen.

I talked to my daugther, Rene, again Saturday. She had Thanksgiving with friends, and met a new one.  One told  her of a non demoninational church that she attends and it isn't far from where Rene lives.  She might go.  I hope she does....even for the time she chooses to stay in Phoenix.  God is good.

I have to go so I can look out the window and watch rain and wind.  You know how it is. lol   love, nita

Good evening all.  It is comforting to me to know that as inconsistent as the world is, God never changes, and He always "has" me.

Janet, i am so sorry to hear about the potential problems.  I will keep him in my prayers as well.

Take care.  I've got a bunch of stuff to do tomorrow, so I am going to see if I can get any of it done tonight.!!

Well, today must be "souper Monday", cuz that's what I ate, too. Veggie soup with a few white beans and italian spices. Yum, yum.

I'm tired, since my first day back was really hectic. I ended up working 9.5 hours today.

Y'all have a good evening.

As I sit here reading I can hear the rain coming down, this will sure drive the snow away.

The computer has been all out of sinc and now after several days work and with the help of our provider I think that all of the problems are now solved.  (at least until the next time)

I have a couple of photo's that I would like to post but I think I would like Sue to be here holding my hand while I do the posting.

God Bless you all

I sure thought I posted something in here for Janet and baout my christmas tree but now I can't find it. It must have gone out into Cyber space somewhere. Because I posted it this afternoon and it has disappeared.

Any way Janet I am praying for Darrel and for you and Beth too. I am so sorry tohear about Darrels health problems. Janet you sure do have a busy life. What would you do if it wasn't so busy? I know you would find somehting to do to keep you busy. (smile) <3

I got out my little Tree today and went outside and brought in the tub that has the decorations in it. I have to buy some nails so Gilbert can put up my outside light. I checked onthe blankes that I have in those outside tubs to see if there was any moisture in them so far so good.

I am returning my Home traction Unit because my insurance and Medicare won't pay for it. I sure hate to give it back it has been so good for me. But I can't afford the $600. to pay for it.

Thanks so much, friends.  I am feeling calmer now.  The board members from our church came out a while ago and prayed for Darrel, and he isn't having any pain at this time.  These three guys are really terrific men of God, and I am so thankful for the friends we have in our church family and here on CP, too.

Ruth Ann, they sure wring you out good, don't they?  That's a long day for anyone, much less for someone who isn't in tip-top shape healthwise.  God bless you!

Marilyn, if you just have your things stored in tubs outdoors, what keeps people from stealing them?  Inquiring minds want to know..... ^-^

Yes, it must be Souper Monday, all right!  My soup was good, and Pat, your two (three?) bowls are still here waiting for you!  No kidney beans in mine, I don't care for those, either, Nita.  I did intend to put in green beans and only realized I had left them out when I read your post.

I put some ornaments on our tree today, but can't find the hooks, so I had to stop.  Now, where did I put that little box full of hooks?  :idiot:

Oops, I just remembered it's my day to post the NEM for tomorrow!  I'd better get with it!
