Morning Devotional...

Psalm 1

Read Psalm 1 (http://biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?passage=PS%2B1&showfn=on&showxref=on&language=english&version=NKJV&x=11&y=5)

This song reminds the worshipper of the two kinds of people in the world: those who love the Lord and those who don't, those who want to hear His Word and those who don't.  In this song, then, the worship leader, standing in the temple on Mount Zion, leads the people, early in the morning, to sing out an exhortation for those who want to live as those who love God.

He sings out that those who do love the Lord and desire to please Him should want nothing to do with the ideas of those who don't - they shouldn't want to be influenced by them in any way.  They don't walk with them, stand with them, or sit with them in conversation.  In other words, they simply don't travel in that crowd, because they don't want to begin acting as they do. The song reminds them that the Lord "blesses" them in this - that He approves their behavior, that they've actually begun to please Him in that way.  This doesn't mean, of course, that God's people should try to avoid the people of the world all the time – it just means they shouldn't make them their close, continuous companions. (1 Cor. 5:10)

Having sung about what they shouldn't do, the leader then turns to the positives.  He says, "But his delight is in the law  of the Lord (the entire Bible), and in His law he meditates day and night."  In singing these words the leader paints a picture of those who love God: they are ones who gladly hear His Word, and they are always considering what it means for them – they meditate on it day and night. That means that even when they daydream, it's about how the Word might apply to what they do each day.

The people are next led to sing about the blessing of the Lord upon those who meditate in that way. He says, "He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper."  What encouragement!  He leads them to see in other words, that they'll be very successful - just as a tree, planted by refreshing, strengthening water grows, blossoms, and is fruitful, so the lover of God succeeds in life (not necessarily as the world understands "success," but in God's view of things).  Those who make it a habit to consider how they may please their Lord will abundantly succeed in doing so!

But that's not the way it is with the ungodly, with those who don't really care to consider how to please the Lord.  They may at times think they're prospering in life, and they may think that getting ahead financially and socially is "where it's at," but in the sight of the Lord and in view of the reality of His eternity they are total losers. They'll have to stand before the Almighty and holy God to answer for their attitude and behavior, but they won't be present when God gathers the "congregation of the righteous" to Himself.

Finally, the people are led to sing the real clincher: "For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish."  That's exactly what the godly need to know.  They (we all) need to be aware that God CARES, that He's not out there somewhere, paying no attention when we're trying to please Him, but that He sees it ALL!

A quick note for Pat and Sonja --  Over on DPC, if you will find a post by "kirbic,"  I think you will be amused.  Apparently our "Christian Photographers" signature pic/link has made an impression on him!  hahahahahhaha

(His "copies" ours and says "Agnostic Photographers.")
I meant to hit modify, but I'm in a hurry.

Let me explain.  I find it funny because it is such a blatant imitation.  For him to take the time to do that, ours must have annoyed him to some degree, or something.  I have always held the opinion that if Christianity annoys or angers someone, it has hit a nerve.  At the very least, we caused him to make a public stand.

I seen this the other day.  I wonder if he is asking for help?  I will be praying for him.

You know we might actually have more people look at this site or even think more about the God because of this.  I am proud to be a christian.

I don't think that anyone guessed Lee's hymn!

Here it is again:

THE    C _ _ _ _ _ ' _    ONE    _ _ _ _ _ _ T _ _ _

IS    _ _ _ _ _    _ _ _ _ _ _ ...

Lee gave us two clues:

It's good to sing scripture!

Let's sing Psalm One as it's the Psalm for our devotional...

Psalm 1   (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/st.peter.mpga)
(Click to hear music)

Musician:  Alexander R. Reinagle, 1799-1877

1  THAT man hath perfect blessedness
Who walketh not astray
In counsel of ungodly men,
Nor stands in sinners' way,
Nor sitteth in the scorner's chair:
2  But placeth his delight
Upon God's law, and meditates
On his law day and night.

3  He shall be like a tree that hath
Been planted by a river,
Which in its season yields its fruit,
And its leaf fadeth never:
And all he doth shall prosper well.
4  The wicked are not so;
But like they are unto the chaff,
Which wind drives to and fro.

5  In judgment therefore shall not stand
Such as ungodly are;
Nor in the assembly of the just
Shall wicked men appear.
6  Because the way of godly men
Unto the Lord is known;
Whereas the way of wicked men
Shall quite be overthrown.

Its been a busy day here and I haven't spent much time on the computer today-Ive been busy changing bedrooms around -my husband wanted me to wait till wensday and I said I wanted to get it done-he told me I was impossible lol.  But, nothing is impossible with God right? I just have to laugh at him..One of these days I will have to post a picture of my other half--He is really a great guy and takes good care of the kids and I..were going on our 19th year of marriage. God has given me many many blessings in my life and I am thankful for my wonderful husband and also our children.
Today-I went and got snow gear for the kids-There all set I think for winter now.

Oh, yeah, <gulp> I guess I didn't post anything for yesterday ...  :-[  Sorry.   I had a very full and blessed Lord's day and just didn't get my fingers limbered up enough to type anything.  hmmm

I really, really did cheer for MARILYN and her new status as a NON-SMOKER!!! Yea, Yea, Hip, Hip, Hurray!!!!  Y'all just didn't hear me, that's all.   :P

I just heard on the news that there was snow in Eugene, OR today!! WhoooHoooo  this is really early for snow around here...or there.  Eugene isn't too far from here, but I don't think we'll have any snow for a while. Of course, I could be wrong...it would be only the first time, though! <first time today, that is> :-\

I had a letter from my grandson Tim...he says he will be coming home from Iraq no later than February 1!  Yippeeee!!!!  He will be home for good when he gets here, because they can't deploy him again for 3 years and he will be out of the Army long before then!  I know he is really looking forward to getting back with his wife and two little boys, and getting his life back off hold.  This will be one relieved Grandma too, I can tell you.  Next, we need to concentrate on Bryan's safety and strength in his Christian walk while in the Army <and deployed to Iraq soon>.

Gotta go ... y'all take it easy now, y'hear?  I'll be back to check on all y'all later.    :P

Goodmorning all.
I just lost my post. I think it's Virgin again

JANE Thank God that Tim will be coming home in February.  I will pray for a safe return and continue to pray for dear Bryan. The news from Iraq was so bad yesterday.

PAT  thank you for the Tap ins.  I am glad to see David Bena and Kathy Lewis standing up for the Truth and taking others along with them.

The new gun is horrific, what can we expect.  We are  all guilty that things are getting out of hand.  We haven't lobbied our representatives, we have allowed weapons to be manufactured and sold.  Guilty, Guilty, Guilty of the blood of innocents.  All of us.

Pastor Al.  Thank you for Psalm 1.  I do like this Psalm.  especially v3.  I am overjoyed that my Spirit Leaf shall not wither, everything else is withering, I guess a lot of you know the feeling...Yes?

The ungodly do seem to be getting away with things more and more.  Law is breaking down all over the world. Certainly this Psalm does get me thinking and praying.  (2 Cor 10:4).

The New Hampshire Situation brings to mind how easily we can be led astray.

"Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.
Bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ".(2 Cor 10:5).

The Lord Bless you all.

'And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's Passover.'

Exodus Chapter 12 Verse 11

If anyone were to doubt the power and authority of God then they should study the plagues suffered by Pharaoh and the people of Egypt. They endured much as a result of Pharaoh hardening his heart against the request of Moses to let the children of Israel go.

One more plague was to come and that was to occur on the children of Israel's final night in Egypt. The firstborn in the land of Egypt were to die, including the beats of the field. None was to be spared. The children of Israel were safe as long as they followed the Lord's commands.

A lamb without blemish was to be taken, killed, roasted on a fire and eaten in a certain way. The blood of this same lamb was to be sprinkled upon the side posts and upper door post of each dwelling.

At midnight when the destroyer came Israel would be saved by the blood. A dreadful night where even the dogs remained silent!

In 2003 we are also saved through a sacrifice and shed blood. Not be any ordinary lamb, nor one of our choosing, but God's choice, namely His Son, Jesus Christ.

He was without spot or blemish, He was hung on a cross and slain, the fire of God's fury was upon Him and His blood was shed for sinners.

We are saved through this shedding of blood. We are born in iniquity. We are sinners from the time of our conception. We are destined for an eternity in Hell unless by grace we are saved.

God has provided a substitute to die and bear the punishment that our sins deserved. Jesus, the Lamb of God die in our room and stead.  If we believe that He died for us then through faith we accept His righteousness as our own.

His blood cleanses us from all our sins. We are no longer under condemnation, we are born again, not of the flesh but of the spirit.

It was the words, 'ye shall eat it in haste' that caught my attention this morning as I read this chapter. Why would they need to eat it in haste. Are we to do the same?

The matter of our salvation is an urgent business. Life is so unpredictable that we are not to leave it until another day. We are not promised tomorrow therefore we are to make haste in getting our house in order. We have business to do with God and it must be done immediately.

Delay would mean death. It would mean being left behind. We are not to linger in Egypt, we are to get out, fast!

Well do I remember the 6 months of anguish I had when having heard the Gospel and being affected by it, I struggled in no man's land trying to believe! I did not know whose side I was on.

I wanted to be a child of God. I wanted to be saved. I wanted to rid myself of all that Egypt offered. I wanted to believe, but it was the hardest thing on earth for me to do.

I feared death. I passed a cemetery every day going to and from my work and I feared that I would end up there before I would be saved. I feared a lost eternity, yet I knew that God would have been just in sending my there. I had sinned against Him and I did not have an Advocate.

It was not until my head knowledge became my heart knowledge that peace flowed into my desperate soul. The penny finally dropped and I believed with all my heart that Jesus Christ died for me on that cross outside the walls of Jerusalem.

We do everything else in our lives in haste. Should we not eat to our souls satisfaction each morning from the Word of God? Should we not make haste to the Throne of Grace before the concerns of the day take over? Should we not make haste to be assured each day of our salvation?

If we have stumbled backwards and have once again wandered in Egypt's land, then we should make haste to get out. If not then we shall soon be found in the gutters of that same land.

If we find ourselves in the company of those who fear not God, should we not make haste to be with those who are like-minded and heirs of Glory.

The final thought that came to me was this. Should we not make haste to share the Lamb with our friends, our neighbours, our colleagues and all who may cross our path today?

We have a story to tell. We have tasted and seen that God is good. We must with all haste tell others about this Good News lest they suffer a lost eternity through our neglect.

Eat my friend in haste and follow Jesus wherever He leads you.

LOL

Your brother in Christ

Iain

Good morning.  After a good day yesterday we have the rest of this week before us.  Hopefully this will be a good week for you.

Mieka, it is always good to see a note from you.  Sorry you couldn't sleep.

I apreciate the devotionals by Al and Iain.  Cornelia and I have about caught up with our daily Bible reading after my three weeks in the hospital.  We continue to read out loud every word and every day we receive a blessing from the reading.

Ps 119:103-105  How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!  I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
(NIV)

Marilyn, you are in my prayers.  May God give you strength and determination to overcome this addiction.  God WILL help you and give you strength.

Phil 4:13  I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (NIV)

Good to see everyone here today.

Hello, everybody!

A quick thanks to Papa John for mentioning "reading the Bible out loud."  We have started doing this nightly with Travis (not a lot, just a few verses), and even he seems to really enjoy it.

Have a great day!  I'll try to stop in again around lunch and check on everyone.

Across the sea.

Bernard.  Well done Daddy.  I am so proud of you brother "the family that prays together stays together".  There are some lovely little Christian story books and prayer books  for tiny tots nowadays.  You will never have these times with little Travis again, hold them tight to treasure.

Papa John Good afternoon. Phil 4:13 is certainly Your encouragement. Love and blessings to you and Cornelia.

I have to pop over the park in a few minutes to look for Sidney.  I went across yesterday afternoon but it was pouring with rain.  He wasn't about., Hopefully he will venture forth for the short drive up the hill this afternoon, it being a nice fine one, albeit very windy.  Still that "blows the cobwebs away". I have baked him a little iced slab cake for his tea.

Pat has been on my mind all this English morning.  I hope she was asleep until late....Nice and late!

Speak later.

Interesting links and sites Pat.  What a complicated world we live in.

Sarah, I will pray about your church.  Keep posting and look to Jesus for your strength.  Churches can go off track but God stays the same.

Thanks Lee.  I think that you were the only one that noticed how prayers had been answered.  In case anyone thinks selling this Condo was an easy task, most sit for years and don't sell in this building.  Some have to be rented when all else fails.  It is a very hard building to sell as there are many bad regulations and on a high hill that is difficult for older be to manage.
To sell the Condo in less than 3 weeks, to a couple on a nearby island who want a spot to come when going to our live theatre, etc.  That folks is GOD not the realtor.  Something pressed me to put it on the market at this time, rather than wait until spring.  That folks was GOD, not an accident.

God Bless.

Liz I am praising and thanking God for the quick answer to prayers in the sale of your condo.  He always knows the exact timing for all things.  God bless!

Sarah, you are right.  Problems in the church family are really tough.  I pray your church comes together in love and unity to work out their problems.

Boots I enjoy your bits of humor!  Laughter doeth good like a medicine-----keep on lightening things up in here.  Some days when there are many problems, things can get a little heavy, and a good chuckle renews our strength.  Thank you.

Nards and Karma-----still praying!

Pat, hope things are good there in Guelph today.  Is the rain still teeming down?  It is cool and grey here, but still not a drop of rain. :(

Mieka  I am so sorry you have been sick, and hope you are feeling well now.  Take care of yourself, and do come visit as much as you can this week!  Love you....((((hugs))))

I'm getting ready to tear the bathroom apart, so we can get the tile on the floor.  Yep, back to the salt mine. :-\ 8)

Good Morning Everyone!

Yes, it's still raining in Guelph!

I'm so happy for you, Liz.  We'll look forward to hearing now all about your move!  That will be nice to get that over.

Great words from you today, Iain.  Thanks for them.  I've printed them out and am going to sit quietly in the living room a little later and read them again.  Thanks!

Don't work too hard, Janet!  My goodness!  Just because I said I might visit you, you didn't have to go to all that bother.  ;)
LOL

Good job, Jane!  I love these little quizzes of Lee's.  (Hope he uses the underscore to represent each letter!  HAHAHAHA)

I see you got the answer too, Judy!

Nards, what a great practice to do with little Travis.  We used "Leading Little Ones to God" when our kids were little.  Each chapter is so very short with a verse to read, a song to sing and a little devotion.  Just a fantastic book.

I hope you bundle up warm when you go out on the scooter, Jenny to the park.  Do you go if it's raining?

Well, I started to post this over an hour ago and then I added a bit and then the phone rang and it was Diane.  Larry is really bad today and she just needed someone to talk to.  I may be taking her to the hospital a little later if her son can't.

Now, I must go and do some ironing.  I'll talk to you later.  Sorry for not greeting each one of you.

Great news, Liz!  I hope that I have moved the last time when I moved in here.

Great news, Ruth Ann!  More children returned to the fold.

Marilyn
~ I quit cold turkey December 31, 1987.  Easiest thing I ever did and my habit lasted for 25 years.  Can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke now.

Papa John ~ It is so great to see your green posts!  Give your little bride a hug from me.  Then tell her to give it back to you ... from me.   ;) ;)

Pat ~ How are you today?  Are you still dizzy?  Fess up!  Do you need to see the doctor?  Don't put it off if you are still dizzy.

Sarah ~ I will pray for your church to become One again.

Mieka ~ So sad that you will be leaving us soon.  I am praying that you return soon also.

Congratulations, Al, on signing on the dotted line.  I lived in a mobile home for 38 years.  Thought it was less than that but since May 1963 to November 2001.  You just can't collect 'stuff'.  My policy was when you got new, you threw out the old.  Worked for me.

Thanks Al for signing my guestbook on my website!  ;D  Did you want to try to win the free print?

Marilyn and Jane I got your emails and will put you on the list of names to win the print.  Good luck to you both. I am going to have fun with this.

Busy morning for me.  I just got an email from our former pastor and his wife.  I just spent 30 minutes writing them back.  They moved to the big island of Hawaii in August.  We sure miss them all.

Ria, yes my daughter is one of the ballerinas.  She is my little model when I take pictures.  Thanks for taking the time to look at my site.  Was it easy to browse?

Pat, how are you feeling today?  Are you still dizzy? I am praying for you, but you need to help by getting some sleep.  Got it!?   :D

Good morning to the rest of you and hopefully I can come back in and read the post later.

Love ya,
Sonja

4.35 p.m. England.

Pat..I popped in here while my kettle boils for a nice cup of tea.  Lovely! No I don't go far in the rain.  This scooter has no cover and getting wet only worsens things doesn't it?Tomorrow is another day.  Some-things have to go on a back burner.
Yes I caught up with Sidney and gave him his cake.  He was pleased as ever.  Thankfully it is dry today but that old wind was blowing a gale.  We can't remember so many leaves banking up everywhere.  The trees were later  dropping them this year and there is such a mess. , all wet and sticky and mostly either in the park or..... guess where, yes in my entry or outside my wall, waiting for me and my long-handled brush and pan to get a spurt on, black bin bag and all. Anyway it's dark now and I must have a cup of tea and prepare the evening meal for me and Chris so will do that in the morning.  There will be more leaves then anyhow!

MarilynHope all went well with the doctor and that something will be done to make you more comfortable, with as little expense as possible!

Liz Great news.

Pastor Al Gosh will you be living near Marilyn now?  She is lucky.  I pray she will still remain in the area.  God certainly has a plan here.

JudyThanks dear sis. :-*  I will take on board the "word"...Amen!

I won't Post again until tomorrow.
Christopher will be on the "puter" tonight.

Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our debts
as we forgive our debtors,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,

Jane..........Congratulations.  You've got it right.  U 2 Judy ;)

Liz.........

Only one thing to add to your post dear lady.....AMEN

Etta Sue.........

Pat.   I promised I would not introduce this subject again, and I haven't.  But I did say I would address it if someone else brought it up.  Be kind to me Pat, no noodles ;)

PLEASE, I'm NOT criticizing, I LOVED your link.  However, If we are to share the Word of God we must be accurate.  No splitting of hairs here.  Your link was a direct quote from 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 (Please read it).  Why do I say this?  Simply because God says we shall meet Him in the clouds (air).  This was protrayed in your beautiful link.   BUT Let's now read what God says about His Second Coming (The Second Advent).

Please read (Matthew 24:29-31)  Please note that our Lord sends His angels from one end of haven to the other to gather His "ELECT".  That's US. and we return with Him at His Second Coming.  Please recall just exactly what the Two angels say to the men who stood where Jesus rose bodily into heaven....."Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven".     The angels specifically told the men that Jesus would come back to earth (Place His feet in the Mount of Olives).  At the Rapture when Jesus comes for His church (His Elect) and takes them (us) back to heaven, He does NOT place His feet on the earth.  He is in the clouds where we meet Him.   To fulfill His Second Coming prophecy.  Zechariah 14:4 says: "........his feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives......."  There are innumerable other Scriptures that clearly point to His Second Coming where He destroys the enemies of Israel at His Second Coming.  Immediately at His Second Coming He Judges the "Living Nations", etc. etc.  Etta Sue, the two events, the "Taking Away" (Rapture, Snatching Away) of His saints to heaven and the Second Coming are two very destinct ,seperate major events.

I love them and you very much but please let's agree that there are different interpretations of some end time scriptures.

Hi everyone.  We once again are enjoying another glorious, sunny and warm day here in Georgia.  I just now had to remove my sweat shirt as it was getting too warm here in my office.

I have just finished reading through the devotional messages and listening to The Lord's Prayer.  Pat, that is my favorite version of the music.

Sonja, I have loaded your webpage in a separate window and when I finish here I will pay a visit to your site.  I will say that just seeing the first page shows it is a very nice site.

Pat, that was exactly what I had in mind on Lee's hymn titles.  While I was too late to put in my answer, I did know the title.

Liz, it is obvious that God is answering prayers in the sale of your condo and directed just the right type of folks to purchase your unit.  Didn't you say that you will be moving in with your daughter when you move.  Sure she will be relieved to have you close at hand.  Will you have your own little apartment there with her?

Rachelle, glad to know you have good warm out clothes for your little ones with snow on the way.  After seeing Al's pictures of the snow in Idaho last year it looks like you all need very, very warm clothes.

Mieka, sorry to read that you have been feeling poorly.  Hope you are not having some effects from the smoke filled air from the fires.  Sure glad to read that they about have the fires under control out there.  You need to be well when you travel.

Jane, sure glad to read that Tim will be coming home in the foreseeable future.  Can't image having to have two of them in Iraq at the same time.

Jenny, that is so thoughtful of you to make a little cake for your friend and get it to him in the park.  Don't let that wind blow you down now.  How is your son doing with his new job and is his health improving by this time?

Ria, the market sounds like an interesting and busy place.  Stay warm over there.

Papa John, it is interesting that you posted about catching up on your Bible reading with Cornelia and you reading aloud.  I was thinking of that just a couple of days ago and thought about asking.  That is a good way to spend some extra time in recuperating.  I was so glad to get to the New Testament and am now reading the Gospel of John.  Don't think I will want to use the reading plan I followed this year for sometime again but will go back to one that has readings from both the New and Old Testaments each day.

Nards, it sounds like you all are starting a wonderful family tradition of reading the Bible together as a family.  As I look back on my family I regret not doing that.  Also hope you are feeling God's presence in your decision process.

Janet, you all work too hard!  Sometimes I am just exhausted when I read all that you and Darrel are doing!   :)

Marilyn, glad you had good news from your doctor.  Hope you can avoid any major surgery.  Where is your new computer in the shipment pipeline?  Know it must be getting close.

Boots, I got a chuckle from your posting yesterday.  Keep up the good work.

Etta Sue, that was a very impressive link you sent and thanks Lee for clarifying the Rapture and the Second Coming.

Well, hope I haven't left anyone out today and if I have it wasn't intentional.  I will try not to be so wordy tomorrow.

    Dr Martin LLoyd Jones
A very wonderful man of God.

November 3

The most impossible of all
Is, that I e'er from sin should cease;
Yet shall it be, I know it shall:
Jesus, look to Thy faithfulness!

It is very interesting to observe how people, when they have the gospel presented to them, generally have two main objections to it, and ... the two objections are so often found in the same people.... First of all, when they hear this announcement, 'Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled', when they are told that salvation is altogether of grace, that it is something that is given by God, which they cannot merit, which they can never deserve, and about which they can do nothing except receive it, they immediately begin to object and say, 'But that is making the thing much too easy... surely salvation cannot be as easy as that'. . . .
Then, when one points out to them that it must be like that because of the character of the righteousness about which the text speaks, they begin to object and to say that that is making it much too difficult, indeed so difficult as to make it impossible. . . . They go astray, you see, about this whole question of righteousness. Righteousness to them means just being decent and moral up to a certain level. But ... righteousness ultimately means being like the Lord Jesus Christ.... That is what we have to attain unto. And, of course, the moment we realize that, then we see that it is something we ourselves cannot do, and realize that we must therefore receive it as helpless paupers, as those who have nothing in our hands at all, as those who take it entirely as a free gift . . . to object to the gospel because it 'makes things too easy', or to object to it because it makes things too difficult, is just virtually to confess that we are not Christians at all. The Christian is one who admits that the statements and the demands of the gospel are impossible, but thanks God that the gospel does the impossible for us.

Had the most unexpected phone call today.  Boy when God starts moving .......

THINGS MOVE FAST

Was just talking to a dear friend (jaynie has MS) and her Mom is in hospital.  She is really not doing well.  They have to go to hospital every day to feed her.  Prayer please for Jaynie as the trips wear down her limited strength.

The girls have embarked on a community service project.  They are collecting back packs and stuffies and are donating them to the children taken in by children's services.  Sooooo we need a room to put all these knap sacks- back pasks into.  They read a story that told the main piece of luggage a child has when they are   "apprehended" is a plastic garbage bag.  They were moved to tears at this as they have a brother and sister in care..

Well tonight is air cadets so gotta run.

Love Judy

Marilyn, way to go! Hi to everyone else. I've enjoyed dashing through the posts. Mieka, we love you, honey. I wish I could slide through the phone lines, ring your telephone and slither out the receiver to give you a big hug before you depart.

:-[  I told you all an untruth this morning, but not on purpose!  I was ready to get going with the tile work again, but Darrel said "not this week!"  So I have spent the day working on framing, going to visit my mom (my brother and his wife were in town, too) and other stuff.

It is cold and damp here; not raining, but misting enough to mess up your glasses if you are out in it.  We really need some moisture, though.

I have to go finish up in my framing room.  Be back later!

Ria....... I am so pleased that you are still praying for Cecilia Zhang.

Did you see her Mother and Father on "America's Most Wanted"?

Tonight at 7:30 p.m. Peoples Church will host a prayer vigil for Cecilia.     I believe people from the community will gather to pray for her, as well as the members of the church.  Maybe at that time, we Christians on CP could pray as well.

Thank you,

God Bless.

Chris............

My brother.  I understand you clearly.  I was not interpreting, merely quoting the Word as it is written.  If I were to interpret, I'd have to be adding to His Word, and that I won't do.  Honest Chris, I haven't come into ths forum to bring anything but my love for my fellow man and to share the Word of God.  Our Lord tells us (Not asks us) to be discerning and to read His Word.  God's holy Bible (As I know you believe) is for us to read, study, learn, and to share.  I love to go to 2 Timothy 3:16 where our Lord tells us that "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for dictrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."  After having shared (Giving and receiving from the folks here) the Word of God, I feel free enough as a Christian to quote God's Word (Not mine) in love.  Our Lord always spoke in truth so every one of us would know what He has, is, and will do, regarding mankind on ths earth.  His Words of "Profitable for doctrine, "reproof", "correction", and "instruction in righteousness" are meaningful, and important so that the Word of God will not be taught wrongly.  If I were to preach wrong doctrine and were to add to His Word, I would be a "False Teacher".  I ask you my brother, should we flinch, look the other way, and be silent when God's Word has been misquoted?  Etta Sue is a lovely lady who saw something beautiful on the web and shared it.  It was in fact beautiful, but it was incorect.  Men and women of the Church are responsible for correctness.  If a visitor, or even a member who might be a Baby Christian, were to read, and digest anything that is incorrect, and those who are grounded in the Word did not make a correction, they might assume it as gospel because of so many very fine and knowledgable Christian folks in CP.  We agree that it would be very distructive for [all] if folks were to argue.  Pat says it well, and I do agree, that we should agree to disagree.  But Scripture must be presented as given with actual Chapter and verse.  Then if people disagree on an issue, that is what it is.  A Christians belief in the placement of the Rapture and the Second Coming will not affect his/her salvation.

I sure hope this post hasn't caused any friction betwen us.

A wonderful fall day in Indiana.  I opened all the windows and shut them early in the evening, really due to the sod farmer cutting sod and the wind blowing towards the house.  Don't want dust in here so he can cut sod inside the house next spring!!!   ::) ::)  I made the Party Mix and the Zucchini Bread.  Washed the dishes and did some laundry and worked over 2 hours on PSP lessons.  Done with week 3.  Now to print and do 10 more lessons.  Whew!  Time to get my feet up!!!

I don't consider myself as a Baby Christian, maybe I am in Kindergarten now.  I am a young Christian and still soaking His word up like a sponge.  I am just so glad that God created me and then chose me to be His child.  Then I had the choice of accepting His son as my Lord and Savior who died for my sins.  I am thankful every day for the gift God gives us in Christ, the forgiveness of sins, the promise of everlasting life, the promise He will be with us each day, the assurance that we are His children and He is our Father.

Our Lord Himself is always our best example.  One area in which He is our prime Example is in the area of Scripture interpretation.  He did a great deal of interpretation of the Law, for instance, in the Sermon on the Mount.
I believe we can and should follow His example in this.  But when we do so, there is a rule to follow which He Himself followed very well, and that is the rule of comparing Scripture with Scripture - of interpreting one Scripture by the use of another.
All this having been said, though, I am also persuaded that some subjects are better left uninterpreted.  The subjects of the book of Revelation and of eschatology in general are two of them.  They have been disagreed about for a very long time, and those disagreements are not about to be solved now.  So I beg (implore, beseech, ...) Lee and others to basically leave those two subject alone.
I do appreciate, however, Chris' use of the book to which he made a link.  I appreciate it because it presents all 3 (or actually 4) major views in a fair and unbiased way.
However - may I suggest just one additional thing?  Please keep discussions of such subjects to the Manna folder, as it was designed for them.
And one other thing - none of this is intended to avoid confrontational disagreement with those who set forth obviously heretical views, i.e., that Christ is not Divine, that the Bible is not the inerrant Word of God, etc.  All of us here believe those things, and we must not shy away from saying so to those who set forth such hurtful views.

Thank you Al Moak..

As Administrator of these forums, I request that we don't use our New Every Morning area for discussing subjects that can be divisive.  The heading of this area says,

This is the place to start! Introduce yourself! Help us welcome new members or just chat over a cup of tea or coffee. If all this talk about God's love is new to you, join with us and discover the love of God for yourself.
In other words, New Every Morning is the place for light conversation but definitely nothing about eschatology where arguments can and do take place and would certainly not attract new members to our forums!

I would rather not see this being discussed at all on our forums due to the divisive nature of the subject.   We've taken pride in being known as a peaceful site on the internet where all are welcome.  This subject has been a divisive subject ever since the days of Mr. Darby and Mr. Scofield BUT if some persist in bringing it up after being asked to refrain from doing so, then the only place for this type of discussion to take place is in the Manna for the Soul area where the heading says,

If you have an edifying thought to share with us please post it here.
Any discussion that does take place in Manna will still be monitored by me and will take place only on a trial basis.

Thank you

Pat

Another day is drawing to a close - and I have nothing to say.  :o  :-\

We haven't had the drenching rain yesterday and today that Guelph has been getting, but it has been dark and "sprinkley" off and on, adding to Saturday's heavy rain.   Most of the trees are bare now and Gene's customers' lawns need to be cleared of leaves but  with everythng so wet he can't do anything about it.  Last year before he could get the last couple done we got our early snow cover that lasted all winter so he's hoping that won't happen again.

Now wasn't that exciting news?   ;D

Marilyn, what terrific news about your computer!  I'm so happy for you.  Do you have cable connection or are you on dial-up?

I can hardly wait till I start seeing photos from you again!  Is the computer coming loaded with programs?

Jane, so glad your Grandson Tim will be coming home soon.  I was in the Korean war in 1950-51, and I certainly know the feeling of coming home.

Janet, thanks for your note of my humor.  I have often been misunderstood because of my humor, but I always say why did God give us the ability to laugh if we were not to use it. ;D ;D

When you mentioned the tearing up of your bathroom in order to install the tile, I immediately thought of (my first bathroom) the outhouse I grew up with.  I am sure some of the older people in here also recall the outhouse. ;D ;D

Many of us that grew up in the great depression of the 1930's had very little.  When I mentioned going to Church in clean overalls and clean white shirt in a post the other day I was talking of experience.

I am reminded of a saying;  "I've done so much, with so little, for so long, that I can do almost anything, with nothing, in no time flat."

Larry, since YAWL live in Georgia I bet we pretty well speak the same language.

Ria, I enjoy reading your post, and admire your ability to speak English.  I hope I can say this correctly.  "tot ziens"

Have a good evening
Boots

Well tonight I went to Peoples Church for a prayer vigil for Cecilia Zhang.

It was televised, so on the news tonight at 11:00 p.m. it will show us praying.   I was filled with emotional because all the speakers were Chinese and some had a translater.  They were all praying fervently and crying out to God.

A Chinese Pastor prayed and asked God to perform a miracle and keep Cecilia safe and bring her home to her distraught family.  He also asked God to show the kidnappers the wickedness of their ways.

Much scripture was quoted such as "Is anything too hard for God"  and in Isaiah it says "I have called you by name, and I will not forget you"  and  "There will be persecution, but I have overcome the world"

We are praying that when this is all over, the family will come to faith in Jesus Christ.

Thank you for praying from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. and please continue.

God bless everyone.

Ruthie ;)

Boots, I also grew up with 4 rooms and a "path."  So I know whereof you speak! ;)

Ruthie and Pat--I finally found the right channel for America's Most Wanted the other night, but had already missed the part about Cecelia. >:(  It is wonderful that you had a prayer vigil for her---I do pray she is returned unharmed to her family.  Kidnapping is one of the cruelest crimes there is, I think.

I just came in to catch up on the posts tonight so I won't be so far behind in the morning.  I hope all of you get blessed sleep tonight!

Congrats. Jeanne - 1000 posts!!  I will never have that much to say.....

Janet, I wish it were possible to hire you and Darrel to make the changes to my future home.  Never thought it would be so hard to find people to put in a kitchen and other stuff....

Yes Larry, I will have my own little private space.  Thanks for asking.

Amen to Pat & Pastor Al.  I will leave the travel plans up to God.

Would love to be a fly on the wall when your new computer arrives Marilyn.  Don't blame you for being excited.  I felt the same way about mine.....

Hi Ria.  We had a sunny day here on the island.  Made my canary happy enought to sing again.

It is only 8PM here but I am weary from my adventures with the fine art of arranging for a move.  I had planned to start that Bible Study at the church tomorrow morning, but think it had best wait until after the New Year.  Will be getting the book from the library and try studying on my own as time permits.  Is there a study going on here Pat?  You had mentioned starting something....

Pleasant dreams and God Bless.
