Morning Devotional...From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised.Psalm 113:3
As the sun, from our perspective, dips below the horizon, we lay our praise aside and go to sleep.
But our sunset is other Christians' sunrise and they take up the praising of the Lord's name. In fact the sun never sets, and God's people form an endless overlapping chorus to our Saviour.
If you want to sing your part today, the Psalms provide wonderful lyrics for your songs of praise.
--J. B. N., Jr.
When earth has reached its final groan,
The sea its last, long sigh,
Then everything as one shall sing
His praise eternally.

MIEKA I WILL LOVE YOU ALWAYS

10.20 a.m. England.
Thank-you Pat. That is again an apt devotional. Yes the sun is shining here and hopefully you are still asleep in your bed.....Hopefully! Miracles do happen. Yes even our Pat can sleep, sometimes!
I have much to do this day but I shall come in and see you all later.
Bless you all.
Jenny.
My Dear Meika,
You now have a story to tell. Go tell it lass and take these words with you:-
Joshua Chapter 1 Verse 9
LOL
'And Moses said unto the people, fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever.'
Exodus Chapter 14 Verse 13
Severe gales have battered our shores in the last couple of days. Everything in our garden is colourless and flat, drafts appear from all corners and outside even the seagulls are grounded.
Today it has eased slightly but yesterday it was very difficult standing outside. The stormy winds forcing movement in order to stay balanced.
The Christian is no stranger to storms whether within our without. In this chapter the children of Israel, having followed Moses out of the depression of Egypt now find themselves in real trouble.
The swollen Red Sea is before them and their greatest enemy is closing in from the rear with chariots.
What has God done? We followed His commands to the letter, we followed His cloud and now we are going to be slaughtered by the hand of our enemy in the middle of nowhere!
It is easy for us to view the 'big picture' as we know the outcome and we know that this situation was ordained by God as a platform for His glory and a display of such power that it would be talked about for the generations to come.
It is easy to imagine the screams and cries of panic. Easy to see why they turned on Moses and blamed him for the mess in which they found themselves. Easy to think of them taking the easy option and heading back to bondage in Egypt. Fear had them all in its grasp.
If only we could run away from our troubles. If only their was a safe haven for us to go to. Are the thoughts of today much different from the time of Moses? Have certain providences led us into a corner. Hemmed in with no way of escape?
It may be debt, it may be a loss of confidence, it may be sickness, it may be wayward children, it may be a change of home and location, it may be a fork in the road with two ways and we know not which we to take, it may be a touch of depression, it may be the loss of a loved one or even an unfaithful partner.
For one reason or another our peace has been taken from us and fear has replaced it. We find ourselves at wit's end corner not knowing which way to turn. It has all happened so quickly, almost without us knowing about it.
The way ahead does not bear thinking about. In fact we dare not face it. We would rather crawl back under our covers than think about what tomorrow might bring.
In our panic we try and work out a way of escape. What little strength we have left if soon lost in nervous energy. Exhaustion is now our companion along with doubt, unbelief and the vision comprising of different shades of grey.
What does God want us to do? His message is simple – 'Stand still!'
Mr Spurgeon writes the following:-
'Despair whispers, 'Lie down and die, give it all up.' But God would have us put on a cheerful courage, and even in our worst times, rejoice in His love and faithfulness.'
'Cowardice says, 'Retreat; go back to the worldling's way of action; you cannot play the Christian's part; it is too difficult. Relinquish your principles.'
'But, however much Satan may urge this course upon you, you cannot follow it, if you are a child of God. His divine fiat has bid you go from strength to strength, and so thou shalt, and neither death nor hell shall turn thee from thy course.
What if for a while you are called to stand still. Yet this is but to renew your strength for greater advance in due time.'
'Precipitancy cries, 'Do something; stir yourself; to stand still and wait is sheer idleness.' 'We must be doing something at once – we must do it, so we think – instead of looking to the Lord, who will not only do something, but will do everything.'
Presumption boasts, 'If the sea be before you, march into it, and expect a miracle.' Bur faith listens neither to presumption, nor to despair, nor to cowardice, nor to precipitancy, but hears God say, 'Stand still,' and immovable as a rock it stands.
'Stand still' – 'Keep the posture of an upright man, ready for action, expecting further orders, cheerfully and patiently awaiting the directing voice; and it will not be long before God shall say to you, as distinctly as Moses said to the people of Israel, 'Go forward.'
Faith no matter how weak will eagerly take God at His Word. It will hear the voice of God speaking to my fearful soul these strengthening words, 'Fear ye not.' Hope will also be encouraged through the Lord uttering the following :- 'Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.' Let us take God at His Word now and let Him display His glory in our lives.
LOL
Your brother in Christ
Iain
The sun rises!
THE Son has risen indeed! Thanks be to God our Father for His Son, Jesus Christ. and for His sacrifice so that we sinners may live with Him eternally.
Sometimes I just forget to thank Him over and over for all His great mercies.
What a friend I have in Jesus. :) and I thank Him for my sisters and brothers here on CP!
Ria, what is greengrocer? Is it where you buy fresh veggies and fruits? We have something here called the Farmer's Market where we can buy these things. Ours is rather big (for this area), has a nursery for plants, trees, etc., lots of vendors with the fresh vegetables and fruits, and is open 6 days a week.
May each of you have a blessed day!
Good mornign everyone! I am up getting ready to get ready for work, and thought I would jump in for a little spritual breakfast before I go.

Good morning. I hope you will all have a good day. We will miss Mieka here and hope she will be able to return soon.
A passage which caught my attention this morning is:
Matt 5:43-48
43 "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?
47 And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?
48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
(NIV)
When I read this it gives me something to think about

Good morning to you all today...God is good.
It will be very sad to see our little Mieka leave us but for a time...but I am sure that God has a wonderful journey awaiting her as she leaves us with the Word of our Lord Jesus Christ written in her.....He was the One Who brought her to us here at CP for a reason and this is one reason....to show her the love that only Christ can give her......a love that will not die.....and He is the One Who is now at work in her heart......let us praise Him...the exalted Son of God.......

Good Morning Everyone!
It's a drizzly day here in Guelph. And I haven't got my daffodils planted. Anyone want to come and help? HAHAHA!
I must deliver some Avon brochures today as well as I paid for them and mustn't let the $$$ go down the drain.
I hope that Mieka has a moment to come in and read all of the nice messages to her. I hope that on the top of all of your little Prayer Lists that we can add Mieka's name so that she will be conscious of the Lord's lovely hands of love guiding her as she travels to Tibet.
I hope that Vivian had a wonderful Birthday supper last night, Lee. What a lovely few days she had. Hey, Lee! Want a piece of cake? HAHAHA!
Well, I'm off to figure out what I'm going to do about these Avon books...
I'll be back later.
Love ya'll!
I really slept well last night and just a bit longer than usual. It is cool and dark now and we do keep the window open for fresh air - but not enough for it to snow inside!
I didn't know Mieka was going to Tibet. Someone wrote China in a previous post.
Carol
Hi everyone. I stayed at coffee an extra 20 minutes this morning as didn't have anything pressing here at home and we were having a nice time chatting. I have choir practice this evening but nothing else on my schedule today. Sure I will think of something to keep busy as can always do that on the computer.
Marilyn, I saw your note about the screen settings resulting in font that is too small. Just click on the "Start" button, then "My Computer" and over on the left side, click on "Change a Setting", then click on "Display" and then click on "Settings". There you will see a slider bar and you can experiment by reducing the resolution until the print is larger. The higher the resolution the smaller the print will be. Of course, on a browser page you can also increase the size of the font usually in the "view" menu. Hope this helps. One other thing to know on Windows XP is that when you click on "My Computer" you see a list of actions on the left, if you click on the "folder" icon on the Menu line it will give you a file mangement view of your computer like you are used to seeing in Windows 98.
Pat, I am sure that temporary bridge must feel like a mountain in your mouth. That sounded like a nightmare trip back home. Just glad you didn't have snow to contend with as well.
Iain, another fine devotional. Standing still is so difficult for us, particularly men, as we always want to find a solution to any problem.
This is indeed a sad day for us here on CP knowing that it is Mieka's last day with us for awhile. I wrote her a message yesterday to assure her we wouldn't forget her and will continue to keep her in our prayers.
Ria, your greengrocer sounds like the small fruit stands we have operate around here during the spring, summer and fall. Often they are just set up under a tent and they bring fresh vegetables and fruits in to sell everyday. I also have a friend who loves to garden and always sells his produce at a little place under a big tree in front of the house he used to live in. Usually he just leaves a bucket out for people to put in their money with a sign posted on the tree as to the cost of the items. Always a good buy and the produce is exceptional. Unfortunately we had so much rain this year that he didn't have a very successful garden.
Karmat, tell TAS that I liked his message. :D :D
Greengrocers...When I lived in Ireland, there was only one supermarket in the whole of the country and that was Supermac on the other side of Belfast! It was opened while we were living there. Now, remember that this was back in the early 1960's so it was similar in most areas of the U.K.
People just loved to go to the Butcher Shop for their meat, to the Greengrocer for their veggies, etc. We had the Co-op in Belfast and some little mini supermarket where other household items could be purchased.
Well, the day I got off the boat from Canada, I was at my sister-in-law's home and she made the comment, "Oh, I have to go out and get some potatoes!" I thought to myself that this would be a good first lesson in buying in Ireland for me so I volunteered as the little shop was just down the road.
She gave me the money and off I went to the Greengrocer's shop.
There was a lineup at the door as this was Saturday morning and everyone was out getting their weekend supplies so I joined the lineup. By the time I reached the corner and was being served, I just said, "I'd like some potatoes please". The friendly fellow behind the counter said, "Yes, love and how many stones would you like?"
I quickly replied, "Oh, my sister-in-law didn't mention any stones so I'll just get potatoes!"
With that, some lady way back in the lineup shoulted, "You American??" and I said, "No, Canadian" and they all agreed... "Just get half a stone, love!"
Well, I'll never forget my first trip to the Greengrocer's.
(Of course, I quickly learned that "stones" was their method of weighing and a stone was 14 pounds so I went home with 7 lb. of spuds)

Amazing Love (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/amazinglove.mid)
(Click to hear music)
My Lord what love is this?
That paid so dearly
That I, the guilty one, may go free.
Chorus:
Amazing love, oh what sacrifice
The Son of God, given for me
My debt He paid, and my death He died
That I, might live.
That I, might live.
And so, they watched Him die
Despised and rejected
But oh, the blood He shed, flowed for me.
And now, this love of Christ
Will flow, like rivers
Come wash, your guilt away,
And live again.

Hello, everybody! Busy day here for me. Please continue to pray for me. My job situation is incredibly frustrating right now, and I need all the wisdom I can get.
Have a great day!
I am going to try to download my camera after I get home from work today. Forgot to tell you that.
By the way Larry my sound isn't working. And I have emailed Dell support to find out why. I have connected the speakers according to the directions but they aren't producing any sound.
I apologize to everyone hre for not writing more to y-all, I hope you understand my excitement over the computer and trying to get it all working. I am truly sorry.
Happy Wednesday, everyone!
I have had my swim and my breakfast, read today's posts, and now I need to get busy. I have some loose ends that need tying up here.
I just want to :'( when I think of dear Mieka leaving us, but I know God loves her even more than we do or can, and that He will keep her safe in His arms of love.
Marilyn, I would be lost, trying to set up a new computer on my own! My grandson set mine up for me, and helps me with it on those too rare occasions when he gets to come for a visit. Good luck getting everything figured out, and I'm sure you appreciate Larry's help.
Papa John, Iain, and Pat, thanks for the words of wisdom from the Book today. We all need those.
I am off to get some stuff done, be back later!
4 p.m. England.
Pat It is not correct here to use "stones" or pounds, ounces etc., Now we are in Europe it is against the law and everything is in grammes or kilos. If a trader uses the old weights he can be take to court. This has happened a few times recently. Stupid!
I love greengrocers shops., especially at Christmas time with all the tangerines, dates, apples, and oranges and sprouts all laid out with other goodies including poinsettas and fir trees also on sale.
My local greengrocer is delivering to me at the moment. I just phone him and he takes my order and it is delivered the same day. He employs a full time driver now.
Etta Sue I have been out there again this afternoon. sweeping away more leaves from the entry and front path. Is it worth it? Oh well it is good exercise for me. I do wrap up warm Pat, before you tell me.
I am going to do some more sewing tonight. I might just see if there is anything good on television, that silver grey box in the corner. We cancelled Sky because I spend so much time on here that it was a waste of money.
I listened to a good play on the radio with my lunch. It was about Sir Walter Raleigh's Trial. Very, very sad. He brought us tea and potatoes didn't he?....Who said "tea". Yes time for a cuppa.....
.
That was a nice chat Marilyn....I am Windows XP too.
Bye for now
Jenny.
Hey nards!! I lvoeyrouroyowu!!! (just in case there is someone who hasn't figured it out, I'm married to nards656 :P).
Just popped in to say "HI" I ran home between classes to check the snail mail and to grab a quick bite to eat. Maybe if I eat before I go to work, I won't eat chips and candy out of the vending machine. Neat concept, huh?
Hope everyone is having a good day!!!!
karmat
Hey, Karmat! I love you too, now you better get yourself off that cottonpicking 'puter and go to work, or you'll be late again today >:( >:(
Bye ;D
Hey, Nards... Praying for you bro!
Yes, Jenny, I've found that out on my trips over that stones aren't all that much used but I still have people tell me how much they weigh by saying, "I'm 10 stone 4" Then I have to start the figuring out to see how much they weigh! LOL
Just as a goofy question, does an average rock weigh 14 pounds, or did some dude just decide that a "stone" weighed 14 pounds, or does anybody know the history behind that unit of measure? (Not that it matters, just curious.)
Hi all, I ' m back.
You were all right; southern hospitality was just great.
Weather was so warm and family members were delightful to be with. Hated to leave; especially now that Jersey weather is dang and dreary.
Mieka will be missed so very much and you posters said it all very well. Know she will not forget your warmth and kindness and especially your patience and help with her study of our Heavenly Father.
Lee, hope Vivian had a great birthday.
Janie, I must have missed why you are wearing a heart moniter and need for stress testing. Know that I will keep you in my prayers.
Nita, your delightful way of telling us how you are share your quiet times with our friend, Jesus, just brought how much you love HIM shinely through in your posting.
You are a dear and I know HE smiles down on you every time you express your simple , uncluttered and unconditional love for HIM.
So good to see Papa John posting. Please stay well.
Take care; as always,
Love in CHrist,
Joyce
Hi Pat; noticed where you visited the dentist again.
Before I left for my trip; I had broken a tooth and when I went to dentist I ended up with that tooth and a wisdom tooth extracted.
Had fever from absess and I can relate when you said "sore jaw".
I felt like he must have punched me out--the soreness finally went away and the antibiotics did the trick on fever---
Was happy that the "tooth" mess was a thing of the pass when I sat down to the first dinner of turkey, dressing and the ever popular bisquicks and gravy.
Did not try the grits and I found out they don't call it ice tea--it is either sweetened tea or unsweeten.
I would have went into a coma with that much sugar they put in sweetened tea!!!!!
Definately having my son show me how to send you pictures.
Saw cotton fields galore and even a buffalo ranch.
Do I sound like I have fun??
You betcha; and I am counting the days, months when I can visit again.
Going to prayer forum.--Met a very nice girl who was visiting her husband before shiipping out to Iraq and I promised I would put them on my prayer list.
Their names are Pam and Chris.
Take care and as always,
Love in Christ,
Joyce
Hello again. Have to go to work real quick Just wanted to tell you what a dummy I am. I connected my speakers to the wrong place. :-[ :-[
talk to y-all when I get home from work
Iain..........
I don't know your personal circumstances, but you have just given me an idea regarding your witnessing to the lost. If you were to take todays devotional (The one you just wrote) to a printer, and copy it onto 8x10 sheets and pass it out to everyone you meet. Shopping centers, theaters, pubs, etc. The salvation message is the only thing you'll have to add to it. God will do the rest. Your street congregation would far exceed those in a church.
This is another busy day. We are trying to change the downstairs rooms around so that John's office is set apart for him to use as such. We are throwing stuff and decluttering a lot. Our pastor has carpeting he is throwing, so we will use that in our living room. At a later date we are intending to sand down the hardwood floors and putting polyurathane on them and a nice area rug. Till then this will do.
The snow is nearly gone. it is 10*C and muddy.
Ria thank you for the birthday greetings for Kassie. She will be replying tonight.
Well lunch is about done and I have to get going again.
Love to all
JudyB
Nards..........
Gothcha
Pat.........
Never could understand the Irish money system. Bet I over tipped ;D We have very fond memories of our 2-trips to Ireland. Kissed the Stone twice, and have been told this is why I have "The gift of the gab". ;D
Too many posts from yesterday to read, so forgive me if a return comment is necessary. I did read a couple of "Happy Birthday's" for Vivian and she saw them. Thanks for your kindness.
Marilyn, glad you got the print size fixed. Don't feel bad about the speakers. While we were staying with my parents in 2000 we bought a new computer (the one Pat uses now) and when I plugged in the speakers I also put them in the wrong plugs and had no sound. I called the Hewlett Packard help line and the nice tech had me check that out the first thing and that was the problem.
Speaking of sound on our computer, last Christmas my son and daughter-in-law gave me a set of speakers that have a separate subwoofer and it makes listening to music on the computer just like listening to a fine stereo. I listen to music everyday as I sit at my computer. Fortunately our Staples store had put them on sale from the normal $79 to $40 last year. I have been so please with them and they were a real bargain. It is amazing the difference a subwoofer makes.
JudyB, the decluttering is really a good idea. Isn't it amazing how quickly we fill any space up. It is nice you can use the carpeting that your pastor no longer is using. Also glad it is a little warmer up your way.
Pat, loved your spuds story.
Jenny, it sounds like your laws have become extremely restrictive if you get in trouble for something like the stones. In the USA probably 20 years ago a law was passed that by a certain date, long passed, we had to go on a metric system. The resistence was such that the law was ignored and while metric is used in some instances most people do not use it.
Guess I had better sign off for now and practice the "Gloria" pieces the choir director has asked us to work on with the tapes she made. I think I am getting on to the Latin.
Glad Vivian had such a great birthday, Lee. Why don't you get her online and she can tell us all kinds of things about you! LOL You didn't say whether you wanted another piece of cake or not!
L-E-E!!! YOU kissed that filthy stone?? HAHAHAHAHA! You'd never get me hanging upside down and kissing that stone! ;D :o
Nards, here's some reading for you...

8.30 p.m. England.
Larry Surely you know the "law is an ass" in England. We have a completely politically correct government here re., metric system....and everything else. Ah well, that's life!
This is Guy Fawkes Night in England and the fireworks, which have been driving us mad for days are now driving us right round the bend....It's nice to see the pretty ones in the skies but each year there seems more and more bangers going off. Tonight is no exception! It isn't safe out there.
Talking of "safe". Last night another young man died in the Aston area of this city. He was shot from a fast car near to where two young girls died in the same way a few months ago. A large number of W. Indian people live there and many are wonderful Christians. They are very distressed and say that it is to do with young men coming over from Jamaica and bringing gun culture with them. Many are living in fear in that neighbourhood.
I do not know this country from the country I grew up in! As a Christian I know this is prophesied and I can see no human way out. Jesus told us that when there was no human way out He would come...
Maranatha This little light of mine I'm going to let it Shine, Shine, Shine
Dear Brothers and sisters "Look up, your salvation draweth near".
Goodnight and God Bless
England.

Jenny ~ I was going to mow more leaves today but it has been raining all day. So no mowing...just soggy leaves.
Larry ~ I need a computer nerd!!!! 1)I have a silly icon on my desktop that I cannot delete or move. It has the windows icon on it and Search Result below it. When I double click it, it says OPEN but doesn't, EXPLORE, BROWSE WITH PAINT SHOP PRO 7, BROWSE WITH PAINT SHOP PRO 8, and below that CREATE A SHORTCUT. It has been there about six months. 2)Also, I lost some sound on Msn IM Plus! I get the sound when someone sends me a message but can't hear the Sound Commands on my end or the other end....so Jerry says. 3)When I close the last window on IE...I get this nasty window telling me I did something illegal. It has something do with kernel.dll....whatever that is!!! That's it for now!!! Anyone out there that can help me....I will treasure your help for life and will dance at your next wedding.
HELP ME! HELP ME!!!
By the way...I found a new font! Isn't it cute?
I love you all!!»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«

HAHAHA! I don't see your font, Etta Sue as I guess I don't have it on my computer. That's the only way anyone will see your font is if they have it.
What's it called?
Ria, these anniversaries are so sad to go through. Sometimes I wonder how many I'll go through until they don't hurt as much. I'm sorry for your father. Your mother died right after I lost Jack...just two weeks or so.

Etta Sue, I am not sure how much help I can be but have a couple of ideas. Do a Google search for Power Toys and download and install the version for your computer. Then run the Power Toys and there is a tab that gives you more control over the icons on your desk. As I recall you can uncheck some of the ones you generally aren't allowed to not display. When you click on the icon I think you are just seeing the standard menu listing. Have you looked at the properties of the icon by right clicking on it?
On your MS IM have you checked all of the options to be sure there isn't a way to increase the volume. You might also want to check the Sound settings on the Control Panel to be sure they are not set too low or are muted.
Hope this is some help. These things are hard to do from long distance. ::)
Jenny, I think the USA is experiencing the same drastic decline in our society. We just had two ladies in a reality office at a new subdivision found murdered yesterday afternoon in another county around Atlanta. Insanity seems to reign in so much of our society and I certainly agree with Janet on the damage being done by our media and all the trash that is foisted on us as entertainment. I am getting down to watching a lot of cooking shows!
Ms.Mieka,
I haven't yet said hello...and i guess it is to late :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

I know I haven't been on here much. I have been so busy with my kids and their school. I have been learning a bit myself and am enjoying it.
Both boys are on the swim team and practice 4 days of the week and Chandraya dances 2 times a week and then I dance on Wed. and the kids go to church on Wed., so that takes up Mon.- Friday with running around playing taxi between the hours 3:00pm- 7:30pm.
School is only a couple hours out of the day and then I have my pictures to work on and time with the Lord.
We all decided that this book(The Purpose Driven Life) we are reading together won't work if we set a time at night. Zachery was getting tired and Mike wasn't off work, so we are reading it seperatly and discussing it when we all have the time to sit down as a family. Which is on the weekends usually, unless Mike gets off work early.
Not sure how Rachelle does it but this is hard stuff.
I also have been trying to spend more time with each kid during the day and less time on this computer. My eyes have been bugging me quite a bit. My muscles behind my eye are hurting. Not sure why. ???
A verse that has stuck in my head and making me think about my life:
Romans 12:2
"Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God."
God has really been talking to me through His word. I love it. I feel there will be lots of changes in my life in this winter. I am excited about it, so please if you don't see me in here everyday, realize that I am not mad or ignoring any of you. :D
I hope you all get a chance to read this.
I will talk to you all later. Got to get the baby up.
Love
Sonja (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sonifopictures.com%2Fgraphics%2Fheartglasses.bmp&hash=3f99101929b0be14da50f9b408a758477834f0d7)
Melaura, I fixed your post. We werent able to see the message to Mieka. Hope you don't mind. ;D
Etta Sue,
I Love Bobby Darin....He was super!
HELLO MELAURA HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER
I am doing a Pat, supposed to be in bed . Nearly 1 a.m. here.
Jenny
Hi SonjaI have learned alot out of the purpose driven life already and I am only on day 4 lol. God has really spoke to me about what my purpose is-i am sure that I will find more about my purpose when i get further into the book-however my main purpose is so he could love me-I loved that about the book-also this really spoke to me-the 2nd part of the poem on day 2-
No, the trauma you faced was not easy, and God wept that it hurt you so; But, it was allowed to shape your heart. So, that into his likeness you would grow. You are who you are for a reason, You've been formed by the Masters rod. You are who you are, beloved, because there is a God! I joined the purpose driven life group on egroups a friend of mine is doing and that is how I am doing the book-I am thinking when I get through it -of maybe doing it with my husband. It is really a good thing.
Well, I need to go and get the kids ready for church and get them some dinner-Hugs to the rest of the group.
Ohh I got to talk to Meika for a few minutes this afternoon-she said some friends were giving her a party so she couldn't talk long-but she gave me a huggg goodbye :'(- she told me to enjoy my new christian friends here on CP-I really think you guys impacted her life-and that she will hold in her heart and will help her to be strong-isn't that what this walk with the Lord is all about-to share his love and to impact someones life? I am thankful for each one of you and for the kindness you have shown to me since I have been here-I just wanted to say that I so appreciate each and everyone of you.
Hugs
Rachelle
Hello everyone.
Too many names to write and would probably miss some. I did enjoy the ( as I always do) readings posted by Pat, Papa John and Iain. :)
Lee, just curious when were you in Ireland? When I climbed up to the stone, it was still dripping, so I just blew it a kiss. ;D ;D
YAWL have a good evening.
Boots
Hey, Rachelle! I hope that you'll share in our little Book Nook discussion on the "Purpose Driven Life". We're all at various stages in the book so we're just commenting as we go along but it would be wonderful to have your input.
Lee, my goodness! Did you trust those geeks to hold you upside down? HAHAHAHA! I sure wouldn't.
That was funny, Boots! (Still dripping).
Sonja, please try to drop in and at least say "Hi". We'll miss you if you stay away. :'( But I'm so happy that you are enjoying that book and also having such a wonderful time with your family during this time. Did Lila Mae see her little graphic that I put in?
As Lee says to me, Jenny... G----T----B!!!!!
Larry
Gosh I have started watching Delia Smith's cookery shows. She's a wonderful Christian too.
God Bless you Larry.
Jenny
I'm not sure if we can get Delia Smith here in Canada... does anyone know?
Well hello again. I finally got an appointment with the Dr for Melaura. Nov 11. She will be away till then.
I have a lot done. When I am done the girls are asking to put the Christmas tree up. I don't think so. I have painting I want to do and replacing floor tiles, or vynal. We have to change the vynal in the bathroom too. If we get this all done before the end of the month I will be happy.
Does anyone know if meika received the farewell wishes? She is going to be sadly missed.
Well I am off. I will continue praying for each of you.
Love JudyB
Judy - I wish your girls were here to help us put up the Christmas tree (if I even bother). Does anyone feel the same... its such a bother putting up Christmas ornaments., then all too son, it all has to come down again.! I find the Christmas season so tiring! I never felt this way when the kids were home.
Judy., what roomas are you going to paint? New vinal will be easy to care for. I wish I had put flooring down in our family room instead of this wall to wall carpeting. Its cozy and arm with the fire-place and all, but not easy to keep clean,, especially with our little friend "Rags". His fur brings in a lot of dirt.
Just exactly when is Mieka leaving., or has she gone already. I'm a bit behind in reading some of the posts!
Hi Judy...
Yes, if you stay away from CP long, you sure get behind. ;)
Mieka just MIGHT look in tonight one more time. She's not sure. But then they all leave very early in the morning and will fly out later tomorrow evening.
Hi y_all
Got to go to church in a little while I posted 1 photo. Will do more later. Just stopping to say hello right now. I am on Msg. with an old friend.
TTYL
I find it really helpful when you put links in Pat (example the one you put in for Miek's farewell messages).
- Judy
Well, here's another link, Jude! It's to the discussion we're having on the "Purpose Driven Life" down in our Book Nook.
Come and join us!
http://christianphotographers.com/yabbse/index.php?board=25;action=display;threadid=1565 (http://christianphotographers.com/yabbse/index.php?board=25;action=display;threadid=1565)
Judy we are redoing the vynal in the kitchen, hall and the bathroom. Out powder room is still good. We heat with wood and as a result there is a film of dust over the walls. The bathroom needs painting and the kitchen needs freshnening up. I want to paint the stairs too.
I checked the posts for Meiks and found dhe has responded, She saw what everyone has written.
By the way Judy. I may be coming down to pick up mother (if John doesn't do it) If you like the girls can come and help with your tree? They would love that. Christmas is theur favourite season, Concert practises, choirs, snow, lights, the nativity scenes. All of it.
I guess they take after their mom. It is my favourite too.
Well I am tired early tonight, I am heading to bed.
Night all
JudyB
Hello dear family,
All this talk of teeth and toothaches, drilling, pulling, cleaning.
I will tell you a truth about me. Maybe more than you want to know. hehe I've had false teeth since I was 16. I was the only one my age, and I had all my friends waiting to see if I'd spit them out so they could laugh at me. I can't imagine them doing that to a 16 year old now, but they sure did then. Pulled them all, and on the last day, in went my teeth.
I hated them for a long time, but whenever I hear of teeth problems, I don't mind them one bit. :) Of course, I don't have the same pair. LOL
Joyce, you always have the kindest things to say. You are just so sweet, my dear sister. I surely do hope that my life and love for Jesus is uncluttered, because He is most important and I often don't feel "uncluttered". And when I find clutter, you can be sure it won't be long until I realize I am out of balance again. :'( It is good of you to say something to remind me to hold on to this as my very life.
Jane, I just ordered the book, Purpose Driven Life. I know you have it now, from the library, but I forgot to ask you tonight where you are in it. I'll see you tomorrow, and ask you.
My care is making a whining noise. :( I've recently had a timing belt replacement and water pump, so can't be those. I'm hoping it'll be a fan belt or something inexpensive. I take it in at 9 in the morning. If it isn't ready by the women's group, my dear Jane will come and pick me up. ;D
Sonifo, love on those kids like they would be all grown tomorrow. It goes so fast. We understand if you have to spend less time here. Family always comes first. That's why God made mamas and daddys. :)
Are we talking Christmas and trees already?? Did I miss something? Judy are you putting up your tree soon?
Gotta go and get cat fed and get a snuggled in for the night. Hope everyone sleeps well tonight.
I finally have a chance to come on and read all the posts for today. Thanks to Pat, Iain & Papa John.
Ria, we have outdoor markets here on the island and farmers sell their fresh produce, range eggs, homebaked goodies, etc. Some are only on the weekend, others are more commercial and open all week.
Thanks for the tip about the subwoofers Larry. Will look into it in the new year. Love to listen to music on the computer. Bought a Sony last year and had them hook things up....not very mechanical. Works well and I am pleased with Windows XP. Got rid of Windows Messenger tho' as it caused no end of problems with advertising, etc.
Still waiting for the buyer to make a final committment on my Condo. They wanted to go over everything and have until Nov. 10 to put another deposit in place. Guess it will be okay, but makes me nervous waiting. Two other parties are interested if the deal falls through, but who knows if they will still be around.
I am still waiting for the Bible Study book to come from the library as do not want to buy anything right now. I was going to join the study at our church, but will not have time if spending the holidays packing instead of hanging Christmas Lights.
I am reading an interesting book (fiction) from our Church Library by Robert Whitlow. It is called 'The List' and is a really inspiring Christian book. All about how money can cause so much damage in people's life. A very nice read. Folks who like John Grisham or Frank Peretti will like this book...
Will go and check out the other things now and look for Marilyn's picture. God Bless and pleasant dreams.
Larry ~ Thanks for the input. I have volume for everything else. Just not MessengerPlus! on the Sound Commands. I have it and then I don't...I have it again and then I don't. Jerry seems to think I might have a virus...Norton says I don't. I ran Scan Disk and file(s) were repaired. Then I ran defrag. Everything was fine for a few minutes and then it seems it is sporatic!!! I still have Windows 98. But thanks for the input.
Sonja and Rachelle ~ I am truly happy and pleased that you are enjoying your new book. I am on chapter 27 in the morning and it is still exciting!!
I was hoping to see Mieka again.....sniff, sniff! I hope I am looking in the wrong place.

More reading for Nards...
http://www.hants.gov.uk/regulatory/tradesta/weighhis.html (http://www.hants.gov.uk/regulatory/tradesta/weighhis.html)
It's all so complicated!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, thanks for the links. Seems that some guy named Edward picked up a rock, then said "That weighs more than fourteen kings!" So from thence on, a king whose skull was harder than a rock was ruled to be a stone. Thus, when the time came for kings to be weighed, if they were over fourteen years of age, their weight was established as the standard for their entire rule. Since the king which weighed about the same as a rock which weighed more than fourteen kings was hard to find, especially under the age fourteen, when one was found, the Englanders really wanted to hang on to him for a while. This need was fulfilled by tying him by his upper appendage in the middle of the lawn, bringing to birth the term "yardarm". After fourteen nights, the king would be released and asked if he could fathom his new standard of living. This was the beginning of the word fortnight, but there is also an unintelligible connection to the foot soldier who banged his head on a ceiling beam after the lanterns were snuffed out. This soldier then would be gently laid out, until the break of dawn, with his head upon a rock just slightly larger than his skull but thick enough to keep the blood from getting to his brain and suffocating him. When he was cured, a sack would be brought and he would be quartered if he were bigger than a hundredweight. At the end of this process, the rock from under his head was taken to the king, where it was placed in a large golden sarcophagus bearing the following inscription...
ONE STONE.
Now, wasn't that just neat????? Really easy to understand after all.
Oh, yeah, but I forgot about the time that Henricus Septimus and his cousing Edward III fired an avoirdupois shotgun into a basket and promptly named it the Winchester bushel. Sorry.

Welcome JONA!
We're so happy to be able to welcome you here!
Nards, I'm so glad you enjoyed that reading!
I just got back from dance. Wow, what a work out.
I am a little bummed because we might change our song because some of the older women can't get the dance down. The other song they might use is about these women in jail who are in there for killing their husbands. ::) I think I will quit if they use that song. The song is from the movie "Chicago". Has anyone heard of it or seen the movie?
Hadn't expected to come back tonight but just got a call from the Realtor saying the sale is now complete on my Condo. Praise The Lord!
I don't know if you folks realize how much of a blessing all of your are and have been since my coming to this site. It has been possible to stay calm and focused largely because of the Christian influence found here. Thanks.
Woooohoooo, Liz!!! That is wonderful news!
Pat~I showed Lila Mae the little kitty and doggy. She loved them. She said "Ewww...litty, litty!" and then giggled. She loves cats. LOL...Thanks! Luv you!
I hear the key turning........
Yep! Nearly, Lee.
;D
OK Here we are, locking the door on today's topic but there's a new one for you to talk in.
Please feel free to fill it up all night if you can't sleep!
Let's remember our Mieka as she travels away from us. She will need all of our prayers for her.
