Morning Devotional...All things were created by Him, and for Him.Colossians 1:16
We may too easily forget the preeminence of Christ in everything.
Anyone who believes the Bible, and takes a rational look at creation, knows for certain that Christ created everything. He made trees before they were planted (Gen. 2:5).
The heavens are the work of His hands.
But we may forget that all things were made for Him.
He is the Composer, the Sustainer, the Owner, the Disposer, the Everlasting Manager, of every thing.
How unwise to ignore or dishonour Him, who has all preeminence.

All Nature's Works His Praise Declare (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/bethlehem2.mid)

"The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of His hands."
Psalm 19:1
Henry Ware, Jr. (1794-1843) Words: Henry Ware, Jr., 1822. Music: "Bethlehem," Gottfried W. Fink, 1842
Gottfried W. Fink (1783-1846)
All nature's works His praise declare, to Whom they all belong;
There is a voice in every star, in every breeze a song.
Sweet music fills the world abroad with strains of love and power;
The stormy sea sings praise to God, the thunder and the shower.
To God the tribes of ocean cry, and birds upon the wing;
To God the powers that dwell on high their tuneful tribute bring.
Like them, let us the throne surround, with them loud chorus raise,
While instruments of loftier sound assist our feeble praise.
Great God, to Thee we consecrate our voices and our skill;
We bid the pealing organ wait to speak alone Thy will.
Lord, while the music round us floats may earth born passions die;
O grant its rich and swelling notes may lift our souls on high!

Hey all, sorry I have been MIA. I have just been sooo busy that I don't find time to get to all my message boards. Anyways, I wanted to stop in and say hi and see how you all are doing.
The other day I prayed that God would help me financially as I had some big expenses coming up and I didn't want to look for a job just yet because I am too busy with courses and stuff without one, anyways a day or two after I got this mail from my old bank saying they wanted to charge me some monthly service fee, well I hadn't been to the bank in years and was sure I had closed the account, so when I looked into it it turns out I had another account there I didn't even know about with almost $2000 in it!!!! Anyways they wrote me a cheque for it and closed the account right there.
Teresa Dawn, that's wonderful news. Isn't it great when the Lord gives us "gifts" such as this? I'm so happy for you.
Nice seeing you here too.
Smokey should be home soon, right?

Give Him Glory!
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.Phillipians 2:9-11 NKJV

Good morning everyone (well - good afternoon actually :-[) It's good to see some posts already.
Hi Teresa Dawn it's good to hear about the $2000 dollars, that is some sum of money to forget about, but I am so happy that the Lord met your need. It's nice to see you posting again. When you become a world champion at the ice skating i will be able to tell my friends, "I know that young lady." Won't that be something :cool:
Good morning Pat, thanks for the devotional and the hymn history, I enjoyed them both. It's good to see what inspired these hymnwriters.
I managed to get to the gym today and had a full hour workout, so I am feeling terrible now :lol: I can't think of anything more miserable than keeping fit :D Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day today and see y'all later.
Anthony.
Anthony!!!
Here you are... :tiredtread: :tread:
.
Who is going out to take some photos today?
Pat, that's a good likeness of someone in the gym - thanks for posting :tickedoff: :clobber:
I am dusting off my camera and thinking of what I can photograph. I'll have to start somewhere.
Anthony.

No picture taking for me today. Cloudy and rainy. Last evening there were more tornado warnings...this time between TBear and me. Close to TBear so I am praying that none touched down near her. It is unusually warm in the nights here for November...the reason for tornados. The destruction for Evansville and that area is terrible.
I am going with Ivalou when she has her bone density test this afternoon and then...wait...this will be a surprise to all of you...WE ARE GOING TO EAT OUT SOMEWHERE! WhoooEeee!
God Bless All of You. I'll be back later tonight!(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(

Hi all! I'm at the library as the Shuford household does not have functional Internet access right now. >:(
Glad to see everyone!
Pictures today? Maybe. I took some last weekend that I will try to get on CD and to work to upload for you to see.
Sorry to be scarce, and now brief, but my time on here is limited, and I'm about to run out!
Take care and I'll try to pop back in when I can!
karmat
Good Morning sorry that I can't stay right now Have to go to tai chi, the instructor is bringing me an ergonomic chair to see if that will help with the leg and knee problem. It could be the way I sit at the computer with one leg folded under the chair. we'll see.

It is a very special day today. It is a bad rain here and today i did see a rainbow. :) (hi mr Rainbow)
Hi ms Pat :)
Hi ms Etta Sue. Do not eat the Chinese today or you will soon look as this ---------> :crazy:
Hi ms Dawn 8)
Where is my Papa John? ::) <3 and Mr Moak? ??? <3 Where is Mr Larry? ??? ::) <3 Where is ms Nita? :cool: and Ms Jane too? where is she? ??? <3

:cool: Hi ms Janet. So SO happy to see you today. :cool: :-[ but i miss you.
I miss you all but i do come to read when i can. It is my most favorite place to see so many honor God. Ms Pat I love you.
I love you all with all my heart, and with all my heart I love you God.
:xox:
YEA, Mieka!!!! You did it, you did it!! I am SO happy to see you here this morning (afternoon, whenever!) I really, really enjoyed our chat earlier.
We are still working on that trailer. They have almost licked the plumbing problems, now Darrel is laying tile in the bathrooms. I have to go sand those cabinet doors, so can't stay here long.
Talk to you later~~~Etta Sue, enjoy that rare treat of eating out! ;)
Anthony, I worked out for an hour and a half today. See if you can catch me! :clobber: :lol:
??? Eeeeewwww, did you licked the plumbing.... how gross :P
Perhaps you need to eat Chinese with ms Etta Sue, yes?
:crazy:
Hahahaha. :lol:
Hi everyone.
So good to see you posting again Mieka. You gave me a laught with the "licking the plumbing problems". ;D
The court appearance was today and I went to court with her. Apparently the minimum fine for driving with a suspended license is $500 and that is what the fine was. These last two months the outgo has been extreme with the total of $800 fines we have paid plus supporting my son and his wife, who have some major expenses.
I am thankful we have some resources to call on but, as Ruth Ann indicated, we will certainly be strictly cutting back at Christmas. Tereasa Dawn I wish a bank would write to me and say I had forgotten an account with money in it. Not a chance in the world. >:( Howevver, certainly happy for your good news.
I had a scare this morning as the courthouse has tight security. I put my things in the basket and started through the walk through detector, which immediately went off and I quickly backed out realizing that I am never suppose to go through those due to the pace maker. I got my card out and was waived around the detector. I did call my doctor's office and was told it is not likely I did any damage. They said this happens a lot at airports, etc., where we forget that we have the pacemaker. I will be more careful in the future.
Janet, I can feel for you in cleaning and fixing up a place. At one time we had a rental house and had a tenant who just wrecked it. It was a nightmare.
Marilyn, I hope the chair helps. It is very important how we sit at the computer.
Etta Sue, I join in hoping that Tbear's area was not adversely impacted by the storms last night. Enjoy your meal out.
Karmat, it is great that we can have computer access at the library. I used our library system when we were having connection problems and know others have done the same.
Anthony, sorry to read that your workout didn't leave you feeling better.
Pat, thanks for the devotional and am looking forward to your new photos.
Well, I have finished my lunch and it is time for a nap. Hope everyone has a great day. This evening is our choir practice so am looking forward to that as always enjoy the practice. We are preparing our Christmas special music and music for the Community Thanksgiving service that will be held at our church this year.
OHHHH, MIEKA! <3
How nice to see you post! It's like old times to see you in here! Now, post again!
And
Papa John is using that little man you gave him, remember?
Now, for the rest of the folks:
Just thought I'd show you what our Coppermine photo software will allow you to do on this site:
In our
Christian Photographers Gallery (http://www.christianphotographers.com/gallery/index.php), are some fantastic photos.
Here's one of
Stephen's.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10187/thumb_Scan684%20cr%20ed%20sz.jpg) (http://www.christianphotographers.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-1344)
He calls it "DUCK POND"
If you click on that little photo, you go right to a medium-sized one and you will see a huge one with such detail. Let
Stephen know how you like it! :thumbsup:
This is what the medium-sized photo looks like of Stephen's "Duck Pond"
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10187/normal_Scan684%20cr%20ed%20sz.jpg)
and this is the size he uploaded:
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10187/Scan684%20cr%20ed%20sz.jpg)
And that's all done by the software we are using...neat, eh?
So, let Stephen know how much you like his photo and he has some terrific ones in his Gallery!
Just click on the little "thumbnail" above.
One thing to remember is that you won't get THREE sizes of photos to see unless you upload a nice large one in the beginning.
Also, we ask due to the cost of bandwidth that I'm now paying is that you don't use the free space we've given you, to post for other folks on some other site. Most ISPs give their people 10 meg of space and now many don't. I'm giving every member on Christian Photographers 10 meg of space to use as their own personal gallery. I just hope that you will use it and that you'll go in there and comment under the photos and let the other members know what you think of their photos.
I sent one of our absent members a greeting card today from one of our lovely photos with scripture which is in the Gallery. It's so nice to be able to do all this on the one site.
Oh WOWEEE there's MIEKA back again!! ;D Mieka, I have really missed your humor. I love that comment about licking the plumbing! :lol:
I have been distracted these past few days, but I have been reading whenever I can get here --- and I usually visit the gallery when I have time.
The pest eliminator came around this morning for a check-up on the work I had done a couple years ago. I have a warranty that they will do an annual inspection, but I never upgrade for anything else. Today he told me there was substantial moss growth on my roof ... that can easily present problems around here. So ... because I am such a good customer, he offered me half price on treatment. They'll be here Friday afternoon. Then they will come back in the Spring and again a year from now. He also showed me how I could save the cost of this treatment in another way.
I have electric water heater and he explained that it keeps heating all during the day and night whether I'm using hot water or not. He shut it off at the circuit breaker and said it only takes 20 - 30 minutes to heat water so when I am planning to shower or use the washer I can just turn it back on half an hour previous to the task.
According to him this could easily cut my electric bill in half. I'm certainly willing to find out. :thumbsup:

Thanks for the boost of confidence :)LOL! And in the first interview I do after winning the World title I'll be sure to thank you for your support ;)
Anyways, off to go clean bathrooms. I will talk to you all later.
Ya wanna clean my bathrooms TD?? I'll let ya! ;)
HI MIEKA!!!!!!!!!!! It is so good to "see" you. I have thought of you often. I'll have to post some more pictures of my kids so you can see my son (who is growing fast!) and my daughter (who is an absolute doll, if I say so myself).
For now, though, I gotta get back to work. :(
New news --
I may get to be a stringer/freelancer (writer and photog) for one of the local papers. Cool, huh?

Mieka: How nice to see you posting.....I can almost "see" you. :D
Larry: This is a tough financial time for you and I hope that you son finds the best job soon. It does take time and I wish him the very best. I didn't know that about pacemakers.
Jane: It is good to find those money-saving ideas. Here, a gas hot water heater is much less expensive but I know that electricity is the way to go in Oregon - it used to be really cheap years ago.
Etta Sue: I always enjoy your artwork on your posts.
Pat: Thank you for all of the wonderful music you post.
I had this urge or compulsion or whatever this week to help at the church so ended up going to a meeting after exercising at the nearby gym. This is the Mission Task Force group & they are helpful in habitat - plus kids going to build in Mexico, Honduras orphanage and other things as well. Our church will raise $50,000 towards a six-plex unit - it is a real undertaking as they have never built such a unit before, only single homes. But - land is getting so expensive in the city & it must be built in this city limits & the land is multi-zoned. There will be interesting problems ahead. Anyway, it is nice to have a meeting to talk about the problems and then pray about it.

JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/16.mid)
(Click to hear music)
We also are weak in Him, yet by
God's power we shall live with Him.
2 Corinthians 13:4
I am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I'll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.
Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
Through this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.
Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
When my feeble life is o'er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o'er
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.
Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

I hope you don't mind too terribly much karmat, but I think I'll pass on cleaning your bathrooms ;) LOL
Pat, any idea what would be wrong, I used to be able to click to hear the music on the hymns but now I always get error messages from windows media player :(
Teresa Dawn, you must remember to switch the speakers on :thumbsup: (sorry :-X)
I've just woken up from a very strange dream. I dreamt I logged onto C.P. and read a message from a Chinese girl about licking the plumbing. I was glad to open my eyes I can tell you ;D ;D ;D
That aside, dear Meika it is soooooooo good to hear from you today. Where are you? Are you in America or China? Wherever you are - WE'VE MISSED YOU. In case you didn't hear that -
Rainbow
I don't know TeresaDawn... They work for me and I haven't heard from anyone else that they are getting the same message as you. Have you re-booted since this started?
I missed you too, and thought of you often. I am so happy to have your burst of happiness back!
It was a long shift today, and my back is sore, so I won't be lingering too long but heading into the living room for some heating pad treatment with some television and I think like Pat, a cup of Tomato soup.
Yeh I have, but oh well. And Anthony, hmmmm... maybe that could work? I'll try the speakers next. (Don't worry I am kidding, and Yes they were on ;) ) ROFL They used to work for me as well, they just sorta stopped working is all. I'll figure it out eventually (or I wont and will have to just read the hymns without the tune lol)
Therea, I can empathize with your problem. I installed the RealPlayer so that I could watch the webcam that Pat gave us the link to, and now all my music defaults to it not Windows Media Player. I know it is in the settings somewhere, but am just too tired to try to figure it out right now.
Woo Hoo MIeka is back HELLO MIEKA :cool: :cool: :cool: :cool: So good to see you again Mieka
I went to the Doctor this afternoon, I am going to have my kneee xrayed, got my flu shot too. Soup's on so I have to go now.

Are you having your soup in a :cup: ?
Yes in a :cup: I will go find Mieka's gallery now.

As the Deer Panteth for the Water (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/asthedeer.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Written by Martin Nystrom
Psalm 42:1
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks,
so panteth my soul after thee, O God."
As the deer panteth for the water,
So my soul longs after you.
You alone are my hearts desire,
And I long to worship You.
Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.
I want you more than gold or silver,
Only You can satisfy.
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye.
Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.
You're my friend and You're my brother,
Even though you are a King.
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything.
Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

I enjoyed reading the posts today. Yes, Mieka, welcome back! We love your happy posts.
Seems like our absent friends are returning. It's so good to hear from everyone. And, to see our new friends, as well. We love you and are glad you're here.
I drove home in a big rainstorm, but thanks to the repairs done on my plumbing, I can run the dishwasher without worry. So, we Bices will have clean dishes later this evening! :)
Y'all would have laughed at my trying to walk again last night. I had to go to my daughter's apartment and she lives on a hill. I parked on a slope, and was staggering around as if I was drunk.
I now understand why the doctor told me to only take 2-3 steps at a time for this month. So, I learned a valuable lesson and, thanks to God, I did not fall down. so, I'll patiently wait for the right time to walk several steps and roll around in the wheelchair until then.
We had a fire drill at work today, and everyone had to evacuate the building. They asked me to wait until others had gone down the stairs and then roll inside and wait to be rescued. The stairwell has a two-hour fire warranty, and the firemen will have a map of where I will be. I felt so sad for a lady who works on 5th floor (I'm on 2nd). She came crying and clumping her way down with a boot on her foot. It turns out that she is a diabetic and broke her foot. She has been operated on, and they've told her she has that terrible syndrome that I do not have. So, I promised her I would pray for her. We asked her to join me in the stairwell for rescue, and shared with her how important it is to let the fire marshal on her floor know of her condition and ask for handicap rescue in situations like today.
Well, I must go. Y'all have a good evening.
Ruth Ann
Hi all!!
The time has come to lock this door.
