Justification is by faith

Morning Devotional...

"John 6:47 - “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.”

The only way to be welcome in God's presence is through faith in the redemption accomplished by Jesus Christ our Lord.  And the astounding fact is that, even though we were all completely bankrupt - guilty, lost, ruined sinners - yet we can, in Christ’s redemption, become as pleasing to God as His Son Jesus Christ!

It has to be the kind of faith taught in the Bible.  It involves admitting our bankruptcy, surrendering to Him as Lord, and trusting Him to accept all who come to Him with a true attitude of  surrender.  We can’t be saved until we admit we’re lost.  We can’t be admitted into His Kingdom until we admit we were in rebellion against the King.

But - if you actually are willing to have Him as the Lord of your life, if you’re willing to give up self rule, and if you see Him as a Savior Who is willing to receive you on those terms - then He stands ready to admit you into His everlasting Kingdom of love!  He says, “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”

Rise My Soul!

Rise my soul! behold, 'tis Jesus,
Jesus fills thy wond'ring eyes;
See Him now in glory seated,
Where thy sins no more can rise

There, in righteousness transcendent,
Lo! He doth in heav'n appear
Shows the blood of His atonement
As they title to be there.

All thy sins were laid upon Him,
Jesus bore them on the tree;
God, Who knew them, laid them on Him,
And, believing, thou art free!

In that circle of God's favor
Circle of the Father's love,
All is rest and rest for ever;
All is perfectness above.

Musician:  Psalmodia Sacra Gotha, 1715

Rise, my soul! behold 'tis Jesus,
Jesus fills Thy wond'ring eyes;
See Him now in glory seated,
Where thy sins no more can rise.

There, in righteousness transcendent,
Lo! He doth in heav'n appear,
Shows the blood of His atonement
As thy title to be there.

All thy sins were laid upon Him,
Jesus bore them on the tree;
God, who knew them, laid them on Him,
And, believing, thou art free.

God now brings thee to His dwelling,
Spreads for thee His feast divine,
Bids thee welcome, ever telling
What a portion there is thine.

In that circle of God's favor,
Circle of the Father's love,
All is rest, and rest forever,
All is perfectness above.

Blessed, glorious word "forever!"
Yea, "forever!" is the word;
Nothing can the ransomed sever,
Naught divide them from the Lord.

Pat, thanks for the reminder to pray for Larry today.  He is sure dear to us.

Thanks, also, for trying to help with my Firefox problem.  What I see when I click on the gallery link is what someone NOT logged in would see.  It has to be in the cookies, yet I am logged onto the forums, so don't understand. I discovered I had a pre-release version of 1.0, so am now downloading the latest.  I hope that helps.  I didn't realize how slow IE is. :)

Welcome, OK Tom.  I see in your picture that you are wearing a uniform.  Are you an officer?   I hope you come to like this place as much as I do.

Thanks for the devotional on justification, Al.  On my own, I'm about as bankrupt as one can be.  But, oh the riches I find in Jesus!

Blessings in our Lord and King......our All in All.

Edit:  No.....the new Firefox doesn't help.  Still just a visitor in the gallery. :-\

Good morning!  This is the third day it has been cloudy and rainy here in SW Kansas.  I was really surprised yesterday when I went outside, at how warm it was!

Busy day today for me---taking Beth to the doctor again this morning, and I think her puppy is due for another shot.  And I want to get whatever groceries she thinks she will be needing while we are away while we're out.  Then this afternoon I am teaching my little painting class.  I also have more framing to do, IF my frame chops get here today.  I hope they do, the customer wants them before I leave!

Darrel is now waffling about the puppies---now he thinks he wants to keep the little short, fat male and name him George.   ;D  Probably because we saw George Foreman on the 700 club yesterday.   ;) I think I would rather have the little girl, but it doesn't matter much to me.  He may change his mind again today.

Papa John, thanks for the comments about Thailand.  I never realized, until we started planning this trip, that so many people go to Thailand!  I hadn't even thought of it as a destination before.  In reading the little booklet, it sounds better and better, and the photos in it are so nice.  I can say I'm glad the people are Buddhist and not Muslims.

Jesus has a "come as you are" party, then He changes us from the inside out!

From Your Lips to God's Ear

Different. That’s what I wanted to be when I was young. I wanted to be different from the way I was, and I did my best to enlist God’s help. At 90, I see how foolish I was.
Passing a mirror on my birthday, I had to admire myself from head to toe. “You’re so slim!” In my youth I was embarrassed by my skinny frame. Now I see that my bone structure has saved me from becoming overweight in these more sedentary days. Also, back then it was said gentlemen preferred blondes. How I wished for something other than my plain brown locks. Now, though, I’ve swung into my golden age with platinum hair. What do you know? A blonde at last-and it’s natural!
I used to complain to God about being shy. “I can’t even carry on a lively conversation,” I whined in my prayers. But perhaps this reserve has kept me from babbling incessantly. Awkward and clumsy, I remember vigorously pushing doors plainly marked Pull. I cringed when people laughed at me. Now, instead of pouting, I laugh at myself. I’m also not very good at directions, but these days, when I turn down the wrong road, I enjoy discovering new landscapes while I find my way. What’s the hurry?
I should have trusted God way back when. He knows me better than I know myself. My prayers today are of thanksgiving for who I am at the age I am. If I’d known 90 would be so great, I wouldn’t have stayed young so long.

Good morning, all!!!!

I am using Firefox today.  Already lost a post.  But does seem faster.

I am downloading Photo Story 3.  Doubt if it is better or as good as PSP but will check it out.

Is there a PSP 9?  Is it an upgrade or do we have to purchase it?  I think PSP is expensive IMHO.

I can't find out how to comment on the photos in the gallery.  When I 'Log In', it takes me to CP Index.  I can read comments on photographers/photos but I couldn't see how to comment on a photo.

When I posted the welcome to OK TOM, his name should have a black 'glow' around it but that didn't work today.

A do-nothing day.  See, Janet, there are such days!!!   :o

Hi everyone,

It has already been a busy week.  I started cutting trees down on the hill in back of the house since it seems the chiggers and ticks are now gone.  I try to think positive thoughts such as, "this is really great upper body exercise", etc. but this hill gets steeper each year.  I raked leaves and hauled them to the hill...hoping to kill a new batch of trees that invariably crop up each season. I've missed reading everyone's posts so just had to pop in this morning.  Love the devotional, Al, and the song.  It's raining this morning so I'm trying to catch up on all the postings.  Just wanted to say hi and "praise the Lord for all his blessings."

I'd like to know how you like the Photo Story.  I've used the free version of Serif's PhotoPlus5.5 for the last three years.  I know it must be lacking all of the features of PSP, but I've hardly had time to experiment.  Some day....

Spiritual Warfare and Sin: The Erotic Age

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and
such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles-that a
man has his father's wife!
--1 Corinthians 5:1

The period in which we now live may well go down in history as the
Erotic Age. Sex love has been elevated into a cult. Eros has more
worshipers among civilized men today than any other god. For millions
the erotic has completely displaced the spiritual....

Now if this god would let us Christians alone I for one would let his
cult alone. The whole spongy, fetid mess will sink some day under its
own weight and become excellent fuel for the fires of hell, a just
recompense which is meet, and it becomes us to feel compassion for
those who have been caught in its tragic collapse. Tears and silence
might be better than words if things were slightly otherwise than
they are. But the cult of Eros is seriously affecting the Church. The
pure religion of Christ that flows like a crystal river from the
heart of God is being polluted by the unclean waters that trickle
from behind the altars of abomination that appear on every high hill
and under every green tree from New York to Los Angeles.  Born After
Midnight, 36-37.

"Lord, I pray this morning for any of Your servants who are caught in
the trap of immorality or pornography. This 'whole spongy, fetid
mess' has so many in its clutches-give victory today, I pray, in
Jesus' name. Amen."

Hi Everyone!

Etta Sue, you think that PSP is expensive?  :o  It is such a powerful program and does nearly everything and maybe more than Photoshop and Photoshop is over $800.00 here in Canada!!!!  PSP if you are buying from scratch is just over $100. and upgrades (which PSP9 is if you have PSP8) is only about $59.00 or so.  I guess it all depends on what you want to do with graphics and photos whether you have a great program or just a good one.  For me there's nothing as good as PSPespecially when it comes to the cost.

I'm going to look at this program today, Marilyn, that you gave us the link for.  I have several little programs like this that I've gotten free over the years and sometimes they have some nice little features!  Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

Hi Gwen!  Great to have you checking in.    Wow!  are you doing the tree cutting yourself?  You are quite the strong lady!  Where is it that you live again?

Looks like you're going to have a new puppy, Janet!  HAHAHA!  Good luck training it!

Thanks so much, Al, for the devotional today.  It really blessed my heart.

It's so good to have Tom with us from Oklahoma!  I've been reading many of his messages on Christians Unite where he's also a member and I've been so happy to be able to welcome him here on CP.

Thanks Jane, for your love and concern too to the folks here on CP.  It's wonderful to see your name late at night when I can't sleep so we go and play a bit on the Word Association game!  LOL  I've been busy for the last couple of days so haven't been in there to see what y'all have been up to but I'll be back.  Big Avon order today coming in a couple of hours.  Actually, the idea for these games came from the site that Tom is a moderator on.  I wrote to the members who had started them on that site and asked if they minded and they didn't so now we're enjoying them.

Yes, Nita, thanks for praying for our Larry.  He's a very special friend to all of us here on CP and I pray only the best for him.  We're all anxious to find out results today but he won't probably get results today, will he?  I'm sure that there will be a waiting period.

Well, I've finished my coffee.  I've been listening to this wonderful hymn Al Moak.  And now I must go and do some things to get ready for this Avon order to arrive.

There is a PSP 9.  It's an upgrade if you own the prior version of PSP.  The upgrade costs about 60$ US, which is not expensive in terms of cost for image editing software, but expensive is a relative term.

I mentioned that Jasc had been purchased by Corel Corp., and that I was hoping PSP would not become expensive now.  Corel used to (maybe still does) have their own image editing software, which was priced about the same as the Adobe producst, or over $500 initial investment, and upgrades more in the $200 range.  I think of that as expensive.

I wish that PSP would allow for the same additions as Photoshop does - I won a couple software packages recently, one I won the same twice (and that one works with PSP), but the other looks very interesting but works only with Photoshop (which I do not own).  Oh well.

So much for software today.

Take care all.

PS - Al, I like the devotion today.  Thanks.

I'm home from our adventuring!  We took Beth's puppy and our little brown girl puppy with us, and found a taker for ours.  :'(  A lady I know from church was leaving the doctor's office and saw the puppies in Beth's lap, was ooohing and aaahing over them, said she knew someone who really wants one, so................away went the little brown girl.  Now I wish we had taken TWO of them with us!  In case you're wondering why we would take puppies to the doctor's office, Dr. Plumlee told us last time "Bring the dogs next time you come!"  He and his wife really love dogs, but they have BIG dogs.

I'll tell you one thing, though.  It is NOT fun loading and unloading a wheelchair and its cushions in the rain!  Brrrr!  Today is much cooler than yesterday.

I want to run the vacuum before my painters come, so see you all later!

Good Morning!
Thank You Pat for helping me today-Just so all of you know when you use mozilla when uploading your photos it won't work atleast until I can figure the settings out-I had to use IE to upload some photos.
Also to answer a few questions-yes there is a psp 9-I have purchased it-there isn't alot of differences with it then 8.
Today it is raining here and really coming down.
Were not going to do much today other then school work and house work.
To answer Pats question about Shawnee the other day-she needs more prayer-its very hard for her to get around
and she just can't walk without the walker-please pray for her. The baby is due sometime in Janaury.

I took this picture yesterday of the kids why we were making "cranberry bread" we are reading Cranberry Thanksgiving right now.

Finally, I don't feel so alone.  I'm having the exact same problem, Etta Sue.  But it seems that Sonifo and Larry aren't.  I don't understand this at all.

It feels so good to have company in my corner now.  :D ??? ;D   But, of course, I don't want us to stay in this corner any longer than we have to.  I'm checking at the FF helps forum.  In the meantime, download the extension that lets you "open this page in IE".  I've been using that so far.

Thanks, everyone, for letting me take up this space.  I'll hush now.

Rachelle, I was so excited to finally see someone else having a problem....haha....that I ran right past your post to reply to Etta Sue.   Yes, I have to use IE for anything to do with the gallery.  I was glad to figure that out.

Papa John

Well, today is our last day of this week vacation.  Cornelia is already getting things ready to pack the car for an early departure tomorrow morning.

Later today we will walk down to the beach where Cornelia will take a good walk.  I will sit in my folding chair as usual and read.  It is very peaceful here.  This is not high season so there are not as many people though we did have a full bus load for our trip yesterday to Savannah.

It is a beautiful day.  In fact our weather this week has been perfect.  We got here on last Friday and the week end was rather cold but it has warmed up and now we are having highs in the low 70’s, just right.

This morning we went out for one last time exploring the island.  We did stop at a few stores and ended up at a Kentucky Fried Chicken for lunch.  Then we stopped by Publix for some coffee and also some cinnamon rolls for breakfast before we leave in the morning.  We are planning to drive out from here at about 5:30 tomorrow morning.  I will try to check in tomorrow night.

Ps 20:1-5

1   May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2   May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.
3   May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. Selah
4   May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
5   We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.

I don't have a lot to say but here goes anyway,I am just counting down the Days until John comes,I am soo excited herd to wait but hey waiting only brings good things,I've found that out.The dr told me to cut out salt and cut down to !/2 pill so that will start tommorow morning, this creeping crud I have he says is an upper respitory infection I got antibiotic 3x a day for 10 days.Last night I could not get away from watching services on TBN before I wentto crash for the nite,I did not get up as early this morning either.I must say sure is nice to sleep again and I don't have to take anything to make it happen either but have them just in case it doesn't come around naturally.Miracle was a big hit at the Drs office his wife came in to see her and just ohhed and ahhed and said "she made my day" She was so good too she slept the whole time.Hey John come back in here and post again I like your big laughing face it makes me laugh,Beth

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Just want to say thanks for the prayers concerning my appointment today.  Unfortunately it will be Monday or Tuesday before I can expect to hear from the doctor after he gets the results from the CT Scan.  The test took about 4 minutes.  The trip 2 hours and the waiting in the doctor's office about an hour as we were there 30 minutes early and they were 30 minutes or so late calling my name.  I will let you know the results when I get them.

It has been another beautiful day here in Georgia but have a chance of some rain tomorrow late and into the weekend.

Nita, I just now did a side by side comparison between what I see with the Gallery in Internet Explorer and Firefox and I now see what you were talkinga bout.  The whole little row of buttons is missing in Firefox and several of the top buttons as well.  Don't have a clue as to the reason.  I think I spoke too soon before and hadn't actually compared.

Rachelle, very cute kids.

Papa John, hope you have a great trip home.

I would like to comment to each of you today but that is going to have to wait until tomorrow, when I should have a little more time.  I have read all of the postings here in NEM, including the fine devotional.

hammer1958

OK Beth, here's my posting. You can see my smiley face.I've been counting the days to as You know, right now its 29 days 18 Hours 36 minutes and 20 seconds.

Etta Sue

I don't know what messed up my computer but I did a restore and took it back before Firefox and Photo Story 3.  I love doing the Jigzone puzzles and something messed them up royaly.  So I will stick with slow IE.  Firefox was faster to change windows but oh, well.

As for PSP, I guess if I used it for things other than my photos, I would feel like $59 a year for it wouldn't be expensive.  But when you pay for your ISP, a website to upload photos so you can post on here and SrNet, a virus detector AND a PSP upgrade, that takes a big chunk out of a fixed income.

Etta Sue

Nita, I check the Gallery with Firefox and just now checked it on IE.  A total different look.  More buttons on IE and I was already logged in.  And I did find where I could comment on your sunset on the bay photo.  Weird, isn't it that they are different from one browzer to another.  I didn't see a difference in the looks of anyting other than the Gallery when using Firefox.  Just that CP was faster to navigate with Firefox but I couldn't do my jigsaw puzzles until I downloaded 3 things that allowed me to do them and Jigzone wasn't right yet.

Oh, well!!!  Maybe I am too impatient but I uninstalled Firefox and Photo Story 3.

Janet

Well, we are now down to one puppy!  I thought I would show you the three we still had yesterday, so here they are!  The one we still have is the biggest one, the only male.

Marilyn, if you have already purchased an earlier version, you can do an upgrade for that amount.  If you don't have an earlier version, you pay the full amount.  I have PSP7, but am not convinced, yet, that I'd really need the newer version.

Today has been a really good day.  I took Amy to the doctor(my mama dog)with bleeding problems, and her vet said she really needed to be spayed now. Right now.  She said they charge $125, but she knew I didn't havve much money, so said she'd do it for $85, and will slip her shots in for free.  So I left her there, and she'll be there overnight.  I told her about how Amy is with my grandkids, and that I needed to find a new home for her.  She(the vet)took a pic of Amy and me, then printed it out and had someone make a poster for her wall.   What a sweetie she is.   Her first love is animals, and I do believe their owners are right up there too.

Then........

This afternoon I got a call to say Amy was doing fine, AND the woman who called said her brother in law just lost his little dog and is heartbroken.  All his kids are grown, and he has no grandkids.  He went in to see Amy and fell in love with her.  Isn't that perfect?  She said, "It just seems like fate."  haha     How about prayer?   I'll see her when I go in to get Amy tomorrow.....and then she and her brother in law will come over Saturday to see her again.   I know he wil take herl when her stitches are healed some.  I so wanted her to have a good home where she gets lots of attention.  I feel really good about this one.  God has just taken care of everything.

Larry,  what a day you have had with driving, waiting, and waiting some more, then driving again.  Now to wait again.  Bless your heart.  We are waiting with you.
