Morning Devotional...

Peacemaking

Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the children of God.
Matthew 5:9

Our son is a referee for the local recreational soccer league.  Sometimes tempers flare on and off the field causing warnings and penalties to be issued.  He helps the players play according to the rules by explaining the best way to perform.  I asked why he enjoys refereeing to which he replied,  "It's because I love the game; and I want the players to have a good time, win or lose."

God calls us to be peacemakers in a hurt-filled world.  When hurt comes between husbands and wives, parents and children, individuals and God,  we have an opportunity to assist them to find ways to reconcile.  Sometimes we must issue warnings to prevent serious injury to relationships.  Being a peacemaker may mean getting mocked and jeered by those who do not understand what is really happening.  Being a peacemaker means we also must know the rules in order for the reconciliation to be success.  and when the final whistle blows, it is the peacemaker who will hear, "Job well done".

Father, strengthen my will to be a peacemaker.

Soni:  Thank you for this message of peacemaking.  So appropriate today.

Also, can I ask you how to post a photo now that I have a site at Buzznet?  Thanks, Carol

Hello Carol,

Will see you all later.

Lord Jesus.

Help us all to speak peace to our neighbour and to sow seeds of peace throughout the world.

May the peace of God which passeth all understanding keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God and of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Just a note here, as its time for breakfast.  Our trip to Michigan cancelled, due to huge line-ups at the border of Sarnia/Port Huron Michigan.  I'm so disappointed, as its been a long time since I've seen the grandkids.

;DHey there friends....I see that I have passed the 1000 posts!....FINALLY... I was working to that end....HAHA....

Soooo where's my party!!!

I have been awake for quite some time and deciding whether to sew or surf the web.

Jenny:  Your prayer for peace is to the point.  Hoping for you a warm and cozy day - how do you grocery shop?  I mean, an almost daily trip?

Peace to all.  Carol

Carol

Soni:  I went back and read posts that had been skipped and found the information.  At least I was able to upload 4 pictures to the gallery even without going through Buzznet.

Pat:  I surely did not realize that your gallery pictures were so easy to upload.  Thanks for your easy steps.

Concerning the messages from people who wish family and friends to change - I have to repeat this loudly to myself "Let Go, Let God"  - it is difficult to get this one right.  A real battle in my brain.

Tom:  I read your post and want to wish you the best and quick recovery.  Prayers for your complete healing.

Good Morning: Thanks Soni for the excellent devotional this morning on Peacemakers. We all need to practice being peacemakers in our daily living. I must say that sometimes that is surely a difficult task Especially when others will not listen or "Hear" what you are saying to them.

Good Morning!

I only have 4 minutes to be able to say that! :o ::)

I've been busy packing my Avon and trying to make order out of chaos in my living room.  :P

Thanks so much Soni.  How very often we must be peacemakers.  Let's all remember this great devotional today and always.

Carol, so happy you found uploading to our little gallery so easy.  Now to post your photo in our Photos Here area where everyone will see it, you RIGHT click on top of the medium-sized photo where the title of your photo shows (and please everyone, make sure you put a title on your photos and tell us in the Gallery where the photo was taken), and then you choose Properties and then you highlight the URL (Address) of the photo and that's what you use to post it in our Photos Here area.

I respectfully ask that none of our members use the CP Gallery for storage of photos that you are going to post on another site as this uses up the bandwidth for CP and we've already gone over October's allotment!   :o :o :o  I'm looking into different options.  This is deep-linking and unless a site says this is alright due to their having lots of bandwidth, we must never do it.

I was reading a little poem awhile ago and it blessed me.  I thought I'd share it with you all...

ALL THIS FOR ME

And He, bearing His cross,
went forth into a
place...where they crucified Him.

John 19:17

My Saviour, oh what glories shine
Through all Thy life of love divine!
What wondrous grace and sympathy:
All this for me!  All this for me:

Thy vigils 'neath the lowly shade,
Despised, rejected, scorned, betrayed;
Thy sorrows in Gethsemane:
All this for me!  All this for me!

The thorns that pierced Thy sacred brow,
The blood that saves so freely now;
Oh, wondrous Cross of Calvary!
All this for me!  All this for me!

The riches of Thy peace and love,
The treasures of Thy home above,
Grace everlasting, full and free;
All this for me!  All this for me!

O blessed Saviour, may I be
A living sacrifice to Thee;
Both now and in eternity;
Yes, all for Thee!  Yes, all for Thee!

I have been busy today.  (Not as busy as Jane and Pat!!!) I couldn't sign into MSN IM.  I forgot my password and in the mix of things, I have a new user name for MSN IM.  I don't even remember who all I had on my list!!!!  And I can't seem to sign in under my old name!  So much for technology!!!

It is cold....43 degrees F.  And quite windy.  Only blessing for that is maybe, just maybe my leaves will blow away!  My trees are loosing their leaves but Ivalou and Kaye Don's trees are still green!  Wonder why?

I am praying that everyone have a wonderful day in God's house tomorrow.

Hey there, all y'all. :D  I haven't built a fire yet, but probably will by this evening.  I have all the staves from that old barrel to use for firewood, how 'bout that!  So far, no rain here but it is overcast and quite chilly.  I am doing my laundry and then I will go to the store.  <no reason, just a place to go :PThe rain will probably be here by the time I get home.

I'll be back later and check up on y'all ... Hope Jenny and Etta Sue get their 'puter problems settled.  Enjoy the rest of the day (weekend).

Jane

A fire sounds good to me, Jane--if I had one!  HAHAHA!  It's that kind of day here.  It keeps on teaming with rain and then it stops and the sun shines--for a minute or two--and then the rain comes back but I'm not turning up the heat--at least that's how I feel now.  Maybe later on this evening if it's still chilly and damp.

We're back home safetly, friends. Soni, I have always tried hard to be a peacemaker. It really distresses me to see dissension of any kind. I love all of y'all. Have a good day. Time to rest from the trip.

Glad everyone else is having a restful day.  It is 10:20pm here in Belarus, and it has been a long long long day.  Woke up at 5am this morning and couldn't go back to sleep, so did some work on the computer.  At 7am, I left to go pick our girl up from a slumber party (I know, hard to be a slumber party if you have to be ready to leave at 7:30am), brought her back home.  Then went and got gas, picked up a couple of guys from the Institute, then on to my interpreter's house.  It was his wedding day.  And here, the wedding thing is a whole day event.  We first went to the government wedding palace for their civil ceremony, then on to the church for the wedding service and reception, interspersed with a couple of photo shoots.  I'll place a few photos up this coming week.  So anyway, we just got home at 9:15pm.  Now I'm working on finishing touches for my sermon tomorrow, and I'm a tired camper.  I may just go to bed tonight and get up early tomorrow to do the finishing touches.  And if anyone tells my students how I procrastinated, I'll deny everything.

A watched clock never boils.

Pat

HAHAHA!  I'm telling!  I'm telling.  Jack used to do that at times too when he'd had a stressful day.

Nice to read your post, Mike.

Hi everyone.  We got down to 39 degrees this morning and thus turned the furnace on for the first time.  I am certainly glad that I live in the south where it usually isn't below freezing during the day and the winters don't last very long.  With the cost of oil going so high the cost of heating is going to be a major expense this winter, especially where it is so cold for so long.

I haven't accomplished very much today.  Did go to coffee this morning and then later had to take some baked things to the church for a bakesale and cake walk being held after services tomorrow since we will be out of town.  Then I went to the library and while there I met our former choir director and had a nice visit with him.  Came home, had lunch and then got very sleepy so took a nap.  A little bit ago our grandson, who is in military training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, called us.  He has 9 more weeks of training and then will be coming home.

We had a very nice time yesterday visiting with a former co-worker and his wife.  They didn't get here until about 11:30 am, we visited for awhile then went for lunch and then came back and visited all all afternoon.

Tom, sure sorry to read of your health problems.  It sounds like you have had a double whammy.

Chris and Margit, good to see you posting and to hear you had such a nice holiday.  Welcome back.

Skief, do you have to always had a civil wedding before the church wedding?

Sonja, thanks for the devotional thoughts.

Well I have read all the postings.  This is football day so guess I had better get back to watching and know they won't be able to play without my attention.   :D

Pat

Enjoy your game, Larry!

I'm hurrying to get my Avon packed and finished and then I'm hoping to go to a concert here in Guelph put on by Partners International.  It should be a nice musical night.

Cheerio for now everyone!

Hi Everyone:

Judy, sorry to hear you couldn't go on your trip.

I'm just on my way out Pat.  Will contact you as soon as I get in.

Hey it's me again!!   :D

I went over to the store, like I said I was going to do, and stopped in the parking lot to visit with a friend I haven't seen in a while.  When we finally decided to go into Wal-Mart, we were met at the door and told the store was closing because there was a power outage ... NO LIGHTS   :o ... they were running off batteries at the time.  Hmmmm  So I came back home and built a fire in my stove so I could heat up some lunch!  Ha!  At least I still have a way to have hot meals.  It just takes a lot longer, is all!  ::)   Everything's back to normal now, but I am still enjoying my fire!   :P

PAT~How's your Avon business going? Did you get it all sorted and delivered today?  Or just sorted?

LARRY~I know how it is trying to keep warm when the price of heating is so high.  Everything around here is electric so .... Oh, some folks <like Nita> have oil, but mostly this area heats -- and cooks and everything else -- with electricity!  That can become quite expensive, y'know.  That is why I am so grateful for my wood burning stove.  All I have to do is keep the woodshed filled.   ;)

Well ... I'm going back to sit by the fire and read so .... y'all finish up this weekend in great style, okay?

Just popping in to say I had a wonderful day with my Mother and Great-Aunt.  My mom picked us up early (10) this morning and we went to a craft show where my Mom and I learned a new craft, beading.  Following the craft show, we left for home and took a scenic drive so that we could enjoy some of the Autumn colours.  Beautiful they were, but I will not have the pictures to prove it because my camera didn't leave my purse.  (shame on me)  We were blessed by nice weather. The only time it rained was when we were inside the craft show.  It was clear while we were driving.  I got home to discover that in my absence there had been a hail storm.

Must go and take of of some chores.  Have a good weekend everyone!

Sonifo

Popping in again to see what's the news.

WE are heading out of town for a few hours to check out some owls.  Fun!

See you all later.

Marilyn

Howdy everyone. Just stopping by to see who is home today. How are all y-all doing today.

Jane you have had a busy day. Sounds like some of my days.    My upper back is so tight I had to take a muscle relaxer last night. And two perscription strength Ibuprofens. Was still tight this monring. Volunteers??? It would be nice if I could do it myself. Drat it ain't fun being single.

I have one more load of laundry to fold and put away then it is a hot shower to try to relax these tight muscles.

Hi everyone! Wow we certainly have grown a lot since I was last here. Sorry for my lack of posting, I am starting to feel better and have gotten busy with our upcoming move and homeschooling the boys. Things here are going well. Jason has been doing a lot of travelling and is finally going to be home for a bit. We have learned he may not be around when I have the baby but I am learning to deal.
The boys are getting bigger and I am having fun taking their pictures. I have a lot that I will share with you all.

I hope you are all well.

Blessings,
Shawnee

Well, I came in to check on everybody and it is good to read all the posts.  We haven’t done a lot today but we did get out to visit with a cousin of Cornelia.  We stopped by the grocery.  Earlier this morning we went to get flu shots but though we were there before they started they had already given out all the numbers.  We plan to try again Monday at our Public Health Center.

I hope you all gave a good Lord’s Day tomorrow.

Hi Shawnee...   I've been thinking so much about you.  When is the baby due?  We have Karma expecting as well.

I went out to go to the concert but guess I got the directions wrong and went to the church I thought that it was being held in and as I was walking up to the door, they were also carrying in lots of cases of beer and liquor!!!  So I asked someone if there was a concert there tonight and one lady said, "No, just a Stag and Doe" so obviously I was at the wrong place.  The concert was being put on by Partners International where I was hoping to go.  LOL

So I went to the supermarket and wandered around.

Hey!  I see Janet online!  Oh, how nice!  I thought you were away all weekend, Janet~

Hi, Pat!  Yes, that was the original plan, but we had had enough of the convention in two full days, so came on home today.  13 hours driving!  Boy, am I tired.

It was a good show, but the vendors all said it was very slow.  I guess everything waxes and wanes.  We did see some good friends we rarely see, so that was good.

Our puppies grew SO much while we were away, my goodness!!

I have read all the posts put in while I was away----well, in NEM, anyway----and now I must go weed out my email.  It's good to be home! ;D

Aaww PAT.  Don't you just hate when that happens?  You get your mouth all set <an expression from my Dad> for something and then it doesn't happen ... or it's the wrong day ... or the wrong church ... or something ...  I know that was disappointing for you.  Have a good rest tonight and you will be all wide eyed and bushy tailed <another of my Dad's expressions> and rarin' to go when you awake tomorrow.   :D

On that note I do believe I will take myself to my recliner and lean back and sip a cup of coffee while I watch TV.

See y'all tomorrow ...........

Goodnight Everyone:

Went and saw a movie called "49 ladders"  about fire fighters and their stories.  There was a number of terrible fires.   Good story but a tear jerker.
