Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Well, Hi there, Jane!  I was blinded by the sparks from your welcome to Rachelle, and didn't see you coming!  Hope you have a wonderful day today!

I got interrupted by two sweet little girls before I got the above posted!  Hi, Marilyn!  Hi, Sonja!
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

Sonifo

Morning Janet, sounds like you are going to have a busy day today.  Hope you can keep up with those little ones.  ;)

We had a swim party for Chandraya's birthday last night. She had so much fun with all her friends.  Mike's mom and dad came up for the party and stayed the night in a hotel. We got up early 6:00am and went for breakfast at Perkins.  <yawn>

I took lots of pictures and will post them for all to see.

I'll be back later. <yawn again>

Pat

HAHAHA!  <YAWN>

I'm YAWNING Too, Sonja.

Well, I'm about ready to leave.  I'll be back later this evening so have a great day everyone!

Hi Janet and Sonja:
Two tired ladies. I didn't sleep all that well last night either. Used the time awake to pray and worship our Lord. So many things to pray about and hard to remember them all. You'd think I would have said all the needed prayers yesterday at the two hour long prayer meetings at the church, oh but no there is so much more.

I am also praying for a new car.  This window thing on my old VW is going to be a pain, they told me that even a used motor and chain for the window assembly is $175.00 I told them to forget it. I have someone working on getting the window closed, but that won't be any good either. Bea's son is going to work on it some more tomorrow. I hope y-all will agree with me in prayer for the Lord to supply me with another car.

It is embarrassing to drive into the church parking lot with all these newer cars and park mine beside one of them., worse now with plastic sheeting covering one of the windows.

Marilyn, I understand, but this reminds me of what a friend once told me, referring to what church he attends.  He said "God doesn't care what kind of car you drive, He only cares where you are going!."

Now, I really am leaving.  I'm 4 minutes late!

But I thought I'd share one more time the words of this hymn that has become so special to me.  I'll be listening to it in the car on the way to London.

The Enormous Load of Human Guilt

The enormous load of human guilt
Was on my Saviour laid;
With woes as with a garment He
For sinners was arrayed.

And in the fearful pangs of death
He wept, He prayed for me;
Loved and embraced my guilty soul
When nailed to the tree.

O love amazing! love beyond
The reach of human tongue;
Love which shall be the subject of
An everlasting song.

Eternity, though infinite,
Is short enough to trace
The virtues of His healing wounds,
The wonders of His grace.

Ye men, rejoice in Jesu's blood,
Ye angels, join your lays;
In one harmonious endless choir
Sing His eternal praise.

William Williams, 1717-1791

Thanks Janet: Just because I am embarased doesn't stop me from going to church or parking along sdie the new cars and trucks.  I don't even apologize for the crummy way my car looks. My car has an excellant motor and runs great  and has over 200,000 miles on it. These little Sciroccos run forevers. There are no dents or dings on it eiother, It sure could use a paint job though, the former owner used spray cans to paint it.  If I could get it fixed and painted I would be happy.

Nita

And good morning from the Oregon Coast at almost 10 am.

Welcome to all the new people.  WOW! CP is just growing and growing! For the new ones, I guess we're introducing ourselves again.  Here's me:

I'm Nita.....63 years young.  I live close to the ocean, and love it.   I also like RAIN!!!  And isn't that good, since I live in Oregon. :)  I have two kids that live here close, and another daughter and son in law who just moved to Phoenix.  I discovered digital cameras a couple of years ago, and fell in love all over again with all of God's creation.

Pat, you're gone now, but hi anyway. :)  The song lyrics you just posted are so precious.  Sometimes we forget the great cost he paid for us.  Not on purpose, but just in our busy living.

Jane, I was glad to see your post.  I haven't heard yet, so wanted to be sure you were ok.  (Jane fainted the other day, and we don't know why)   Did you get your oil changed?

Ria, I'm praying you get to feeling better soon.

Marilyn, you might be ashamed of your old car, but you know for sure that God isn't.  He knows exactly what you have, and exactly what you need.  :)  You are His, your footsteps are ordered by your Father, even down to the car you drive.  If you are still driving an old car with plastic on the windows,  it's for a purpose. God's purpose.  It IS God's car after all. :)  Right?  :)

Sonifo and Karmat....thanks for the responses about my getting a new camera.    I'm still trying to decide if I really "need" the Canon 300D.  Perhaps I could be happy with a less expensive brand.  I need to stay in prayer about this.  I know I'll get another one, but not sure I need to spend $1000.
I like the Sony too.  And the Minolta.  oh, my.    My Olympus goes into the box and into the mail today.  We'll see what they want to charge for repairs.

A partly sun, partly cloudy day here.  It's almost muggy. I was outdoors just before daylight, picking a few apples from my favorite tree, for Angel's breakfast, and it was so warm.

Have a blessed day everyone.  I would list names, but I'm afraid I'd miss someone.  You are all dear and family to me.  love, nita

Nita

Marilyn, I just reread my last message, and didn't want you to think I'm trying to say live with it and like it!  Not at all.  And we know that we have a good Father, and he knows our feelings and desires.  I'll pray with you that there will be the newer car for you.....a car that will drive proudly to church with you in it. :)
In His timing.  Who knows......maybe it isn't about you at all.  Maybe God wants someone to see you in that old car week after week, faithfully living the life of Christ in their presence.  God does things like that.  :)

Marilyn

Thank you Janet, I wish we lived close enough to make that deal.
we were supposed to have a women's Ministry meeting this morning at the church, I don'tknow what happened. I called the Pastor's mother who is in charge of it and she was taking her husband tot he doctor and gave me another number to call and no one called me back. I haven't been to  a WM meeting since I have  been here but now that I go to work at 11:30 on Mondays I can go for at least part of the time.
We are making quilts for the teen Challenge house that we are hoping to get very soon and getting Christmas stockings together forthe needy children of McKinleyville.

A few weeks ago we all donated New clothing for the women missionaries. that was fun, shopping for things they will need.

Hello all!!!!  Bernard and I have also been looking thinking about the digital rebel.  Bernard is shooting film right now because his digital doesn't allow for any manual control.  I told him we could get a 10D or Rebel, and he could have my 707.  He just looked at me funny. hahahahhahahaha.

Marilyn, I do pray that a car will be found for you.  You need reliable transportation, and though it runs good, a window being stuck down can't be a good situation, especially when it gets colder.  :-\

Sonifo -- We ate supper at a Perkins the other night.  The closest one to us is about 60 miles away in Dandridge, TN, but it was really good.  I bet their breakfast is awesome.  Probably worth getting up early for!!!

I hope everyone has a good day.  I've got some stuff to do, so I'd better get moving.

Jane Walker

Hey there, all y'all!  <Jane still has a residual of that Oklahoma drawl>  :D
I'm back from taking my car for "an oil change" which turned into several more changes and cost me a bit of change in the bargain!  :-\  Oh, well, all stuff that needed to be done.

NITA!~ Didja have to tell everyone???   :-[  I'm okay, just a bit stiff and sore about the head, neck and shoulders.   :-\  The bridge of my nose is one big ol' scab where I scraped it on sompin' and I still have a bump on my forehead.   :-[  <y'think that's the smarts coming out?>
Yesterday morning, early, I went to the bathroom and, about 10 minutes later, found myself coming to on the floor.    ???  I guess I passed out cold and, in the process, rammed my face/head into something on the way to the floor!  hmmmm

Anyway, I'm home now.  Stopped by the store and picked up a cast iron skillet and I'm "seasoning" it now.  I think I will be really happy with it.  And it was time!  I've been using the cookware my mother had .... eons ago!  There's a time to be tight...stingy...frugal, and a time when that just doesn't make sense any more!

Well, I gotta go get some more stuff done around here.   See y'all later!

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Marilyn

Hi Rachelle.........

How nice of you to join this lovely collection of loving children of God.  You got my attention when you said you live in north Idaho.  Are you in the Panhandle, and if so where?  We live in Hope, Id.

Marilyn........And Jane........

You have the green light, so Go ;)

Elizabeth

Welcome Rachelle.  Sorry, no flashing letters or lovely colors.  Love those exploding letters!  I live on Vancouver Island and lived in Victoria for many years.  Now a short distance away in a small town.  Glad you are coming back to BC...just don't hurry.  We are being flooded out on the mainland and experiencing heavy rainfall on the island.  Some parts also in trouble.  So wait for the sun to come in 2004.

Will pray for your need Ima. I  had to stop driving a number of years ago and have experienced ridicule from my church because I come on a bus.  In fact some seniors seem to delight in this.  They don't take into account that I stand outside in all kinds of weather and experience considerable inconvenience to attend the church of choice.  Thing is, not having a car has had the desired effect of improving my arthritis and I am walking miles, while many of them are using canes and handicap signs in their cars.  Goes to show, don't you know....

Well, that being said, on to cheery things.  Thanks for the devotional Pat.  How is Iain?  Do hope that his health is better.  We have seen how God works answering  prayer with the return of dear Papa John.  So will have to keep asking for Iain.

Hope you are having a good day Ria.  Went to your practice site...Hang in there.  I am going to be spending time doing watercolors for awhile as it perks up my day with all this rain.  Might as well use the water for something......So will not try anything new with the computer right now.  Also like to play games, sometimes on the internet, or with the new CD the kids gave me.

Have a wonderful day all.  There was a nice little poem at the end of my devotional this morning.  Just the thing for a grey and wet day:

Jesus shares your worries and cares
You'll never be left all alone,
For He stands beside you to comfort and guide you,
He always looks out for His own.

Nita..........

Personally, Nita, I read your letter to Marilyn as one from the heart and no one could have said anything more beautiful.  I believe a car is to get us from point A to B.  Who, but a snob really cares what Marilyn's car looks like.  I'd ride with Marilyn ANYTIME.  It's her wisdom I'd be seeking, not the purrr or roar of her car.

Rachelle,  we live just up the hill (1/4 mile) from where you feed the deer on the Peninsula.  The next trip up this way you can bring the young ones to feed our Llamas.

Rachelle

Hi..
Thank You for the warning-we won't be coming back until September 2004! No funds to go anywhere right now lol.
Were busy with school and with Christmas around the corner already.
Your country is beautiful though.

Janet, this might be a day for lost or misplaced car keys.  I couldn't find mine when we left this morning for Jerry's meeting.  I remembered that I left the car out of the garage yesterday when returning from church so I could get the mower out to mow.  I left the keys on the garbage can in the garage.  BUT I moved the car in the garage so I had keys then.  When I walked to the house, I went to the corner of the house to put my downspout down.  It came off the bottom.  I remember putting my keys down or somewhere to fix the downspout.  So I looked there.  No keys on the ground.  We went on to Jerry's meeting.

When we got home, I came in the house and looked everywhere that would possibly be where I could have left my keys.  I went back outside to the corner of the house....hoping they would appear since they weren't there earlier....no keys.  Then I stepped back and there they were on the brick just below the window!!!  Voila!!!

Mieka ~ Jerry and I had Mexican today.  We didn't see any Chinese eating Mexican either.  I guess it is true.  The cheese falls off the chopsticks!

I am doing laundry and getting caught up on here and possibly a lesson on PSP.  Jerry is taking a nap.  It is wonderful outside.  77°F and a lovely breeze.  One of those days....and not many more this year...that I should be out in my swing with a book!!!

Good Morning,  Ria!  It is 3:40 am here in Kansas, and I am having a sleepless night!  I don't know why, it just happens sometimes.
Since I am at my kids' house, I can get on the computer without disturbing anyone, so here I am!  I see you are learning some new tricks here on CP!  Good going!

WELCOME, RACHELLE!!  You will find other homeschooling Moms here, and certainly others who love to take pictures, and I love scrapbooking, so you will feel right at home!

Hey Meeks! I did figure out how to find CP from my grandson's computer, so you don't have to miss me, after all!  ;D ;D

Pat, I don't see you online now, so I hope you are making ZZZZZZZZs! :)

I guess I will go back to bed and see if I can go to sleep.  7:00 will be here all too soon! :o

Dear folks.  Vivian and I are off to Sandpoint to have lunch with a retired Sheriff friend from northern California.  Tom lost his wife six months ago and he's trying to recover from his loss.  I'm meeting with him for the express purpose of inviting him to attend our church next Sunday.  Tom is not a Christian, he's lonely, and he should know he has a friend in Jesus Christ.  Please pray for him.  Better yet, please pray that the Lord opens his ears, and that he listens, so he can hear the Lord's calling him.

Hi Marilyn, I have been doing pretty good.  I don't have internet access of my own at the moment, so when I am able to I get online with my sister in law's computer.  But all is well here.

Take care,
