Morning Devotional...

Holding Back
C. H. Spurgeon

"Keep not back."      --Isaiah 43:6

Although this message was sent to the south, and referred to the seed of Israel, it may profitably be a summons to ourselves.

Backward we are naturally to all good things, and it is a lesson of grace to learn to go forward in the ways of God.

Reader, are you unconverted, but do you desire to trust in the Lord Jesus? Then keep not back. Love invites you, the promises secure you success, the precious blood prepares the way.

Let not sins or fears hinder you, but come to Jesus just as you are. Do you long to pray? Would you pour out your heart before the Lord? Keep not back.

The mercy-seat is prepared for such as need mercy; a sinner's cries will prevail with God. You are invited, nay, you are commanded to pray, come therefore with boldness to the throne of grace.

Dear friend, are you already saved? Then keep not back from union with the Lord's people. Neglect not the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper.

You may be of a timid disposition, but you must strive against it, lest it lead you into disobedience. There is a sweet promise made to those who confess Christ--by no means miss it, lest you come under the condemnation of those who deny Him.

If you have talents keep not back from using them. Hoard not your wealth, waste not your time; let not your abilities rust or your influence be unused.

Jesus kept not back, imitate Him by being foremost in self-denials and self-sacrifices.

Keep not back from close communion with God, from boldly appropriating covenant blessings, from advancing in the divine life, from prying into the precious mysteries of the love of Christ.

Neither, beloved friend, be guilty of keeping others back by your coldness, harshness, or suspicions. For Jesus' sake go forward yourself, and encourage others to do the like. Hell and the leaguered bands of superstition and infidelity are forward to the fight.

O soldiers of the cross, keep not back.

 ;D Janet, Jane, and Judy..........

My post was a play on words.  Janet said:

"No, Pat, but I'm ready to go home!  Have to stay today to get Abby to and from school.......but tonight I will go home!  Yea!!

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home!"

Where do Christians go when they die?  They go "Home to be with the Lord".  My humor dropped like a lead nickle.  Sorry ladies.

Hey there PAT! ... now that's a different kind of lock on the door!  hmmm   Oh, well, it's still the 21st here where I live so I can still say "good-night" to y'all...

MIEKA~ I know I'm going to be "most perfect" for the doctors ... what can they find anyway?  I'm a child of the King and He takes good care of me ... all the time!  It looks like it will be at least after the 13th of November before I will be free to travel to my daughter's.  That's when I am scheduled for the treadmill test.   :-\  Maybe I can arrange a trip up to Spokane for Thanksgiving week.  We'll have to talk about it.  And I am, for sure, praying about it!  ;)

RUTHIE~You're welcome for the flowers.  I have 8 grandchildren and 5 (almost 5) great grandchildren, so I know how it is to be praying much for them ... all the time!  Enjoy!!  They grow up so quickly.   ;)

Got about 15 minutes until school starts or until i'll leave for school. school here doesn't start for another 30(8:20) but i can't complain when we getout at 2:02 and basketball gets out at 2:30 and i still beat almost all of my friends from other towns in. our school system amazes most. last tuesday i think it was they had the big vote here for the bond issue and it passed so we get new things like gym floor and lighting and flooring and HEATING AND AIR!! we are also trying to go to our supertindent about a student lounge. so anyways change is comming to this little town. which should be well accepted! if not it's comming anyways ;D
Pat did u get the email i sent u with the photos?
well i'm off to check up on everything else then off to school today will be my first full day off all my classes since last wednesday!!

Kinda quiet in here today... guess everyone ran out of breath in that marathon session yesterday!

Stupid here overslept this morning - I hate it when I do that.  I've only done it like three or four times in almost 10 years at my job, and it really gets me off to a bad start.

Gotta continue the Moses discussion...  what actually happened was that Moses' mother hid him for three months (I think) and THEN put him in the basket.  She did that because she saw that he was a "goodly child."  Would any mother think her child was NOT "goodly"?  Maybe, in today's society, but back then, I don't think so.  I think it's a clear case of God awakening her motherly instincts to a higher level than that of the women around her.  Remember - all the boys were being thrown in the river!!!!  ONLY Moses is mentioned as being saved.  We cannot miss the parallel with Jesus Christ - THEY WERE BOTH THE ONLY JEWISH BOYS THEIR AGE THAT LIVED (in a certain area), as far as we know!!!!  Talk about being special!  God protected Moses through the instincts and wisdom of his mother.  God protected Jesus by giving Joseph a dream.

It's all a rather amazing story, in a way.  I wonder how many days Moses floated in the river?  Was it as obvious to Pharaoh's daughter that she was being tricked as it is to us when we read the story?  What about the possibility that God BLESSED the midwives (gave them houses) for lying and protecting the Jewish boys?  (I personally think they lied, but the Bible isn't perfectly clear.  They may have told the truth, and the Jewish women may have always delivered before they got there.)

Okay, now that I've taken attention and discussion away from Pat's awesome devotional for the day, I'll go away!

Love y'all!

Hi everyone.  It is another beautiful day here in Georgia and suppose to get into the 70s today.  Last evening was quite warm.  When I read about it being cold in Canada and Holland and England, I must confess I am not envious.   :D  I will take the weather here in the southeast of the USA.

Sonja, congratulations on reaching 1000 postings.  I am happy to see you having time to be posting more often this fall.

Ruthie, congratuations to you as a new grandmother.  You are so fortunate to have so many grandchildren, as are you Jane.  We have only one living grandchild and one great grandchild, although will have a second great grandchild after the first of the year.  I have only one sister so we have a very small family group.

Jane, glad to hear the doctor is going to check you out.  Better to be safe than sorry.

Lee, glad to see you now have the knack of copying, pasting and picking up the quote.  I always enjoy your postings.

Mieka, as always good to see your comments and your interesting observations.  You are a very kind hearted and considerate person and you enrich all of us here on CP.

Judyb, I also have been wondering about Iain and hope he is just busy with other activities and that he soon will stop by to at least say hi.

Pat, is there any news on the little girl that was kidnapped?  That is so frightening and seems to be happening so often.  There is so much evil in this world.

Hi Larry, It is supposed to be in the 80's here.  wooohoooo!  I love this warm weather.

Today is my daughters birthday! She is 5 years old.  Wow, does time fly!

I am going to take her out to breakfast and then go to the jewelery store to get her a pretty necklace. That is her favorite thing to do.

Pat~
the devotion was great today!  I will read this to my kids during bible time.  Thanks!

I better head out the door if I am going to get anything done today.
Have a good day peeps!

Hello, everyone!  I slept really well, and didn't even wake up in time to go swim today.  Guess I was playing catch up after a few nights of not sleeping well.  It feels really good, too!

Lee, actually, I did think maybe that was what you meant; but then I thought, well, even if we are going home to heaven, it shouldn't be scary-------so I was puzzled.  Sometimes my attempts at humor fall a bit short, too!  We love you, brother.

I am missing Iain, Janice and Shinenlite, and several others we haven't heard from in some time.  I pray each of them is doing fine.

CONGRATULATIONS, RUTHIE! What a lucky baby little Evelyn is to have you for her Grandma!  Enjoy!

Abby doesn't have school for the rest of the week because of parent teacher conferences.  So I brought her home with me again, until this afternoon late.  That will make a week she's been with me!  Her Daddy is really missing her, he says. ;D

At school yesterday, they had "Sharing" which used to be called "Show and Tell."  Abby took her stuffed Tigger who is holding a candle which lights up when you squeeze his chest.  She told me she was going to share about friendship.

I went early to observe the class, so I was there for "sharing" time.  When it came Abby's turn, she showed her Tigger, then she said "My tigger teaches me about friendship, because until yesterday, his candle didn't work.  We put in a new battery.  But he wasn't perfect before.  And our friends aren't perfect, either, but we still should love them.  Because the Bible says if we want friends we have to be a friend.  And like in that video we just watched, when they put the puzzle all together, that was like friendship.  But if you dump the puzzle out, it's like breaking up the friendship; and I want my friendships to be all together."

Woah!! This grandma was impressed!  There is so much more depth to children than we suspect sometimes.  I took photos! ;) So I will share those when I get time to get them ready.

I'd better stop for now, before I wear you out with my chatter.

Good Morning:
Janet How nice it was that you could be there to hear Abby's sharing time. Kids never cease to amaze us with what they learn when we think nothing is getting through to them.

Pat thanks for the devotional I have to go back and read it a gain so I can't comment right now.

Wow 116 posts yesterday is that a record. We sure are getting to be a chatty bunch aren't we.

Lee Chris and Margit, Nards, Al. you did such a great job on answering Mieka's questions and adding to yesterday's devotional. I love it when that happens. Thank you Jesus for these brothers and sisters who are so knowledgeable.

Hi Everyone...

To answer several, the little girl, Cecilia, has NOT been found yet.  They think that she was taken to obtain money for ransom but these details have not been released yet from the police if in fact this is the case.

Hey Pat, how sad, isn't it?  They said she was taken from her bedroom, through a window.  It's so sad, there have been so many abductions in the Toronto area.  We really need to keep praying.

Well, I went for a drive at lunch with Luke, to look at a spot we'd been given as a suggestion for the wedding.  It was perfect....except that there was no hedge at the back, so you could see right through to the 401 and parking lot that was right up tight against the back of the property...and the noise.  It's getting a little discouraging now...we need to find a spot soon so we can book it.

Pat, have you got any suggestions for places to have an outdoor wedding around here?  Jen.

What great reading since I was last here.  Then, for some strange reason, I was unable to get on here earlier this morning.  Now it is past noon.

What great answers for Mieka about Moses and his mother.  My opinion is that Moses' mother felt he would be killed by the Eyptians if she didn't do something so she put him in a basket and placed him in the river in hopes that he would float down the river out of Egypt and be saved by someone who was not Egyptian.  But Moses' sister followed and saw the king's daughter bathing in the river and saw her get the basket with Moses' in it.  She approached the daughter and asked if she would like for her to get a Hebrew mother to nurse the baby.  And did so.  Moses' own mother.  She took him to her own home and raised him.  Later she took him back to the king's daughter who adopted him and named him Moses....because she pulled him out of the water.  Happenstance?  No, God's plan.

Is it a record....116 posts yesterday!!!

I received a call from my son this morning from Gatlinburg....he was standing on the balcony of his motel...65°!  Only 45° here at the time.  They are having a great time seeing the fall foliage.  They are leaving to come home Saturday.

I saw my brother's RV and bass boat go passed my house this morning.  Must have fishing on his mind before it gets real cold.  Also Ivalou called and is still in Ohio....coming home tomorrow.  I took Jerry home last evening...so I am all alone with God.  He is a great conversationalist!!!  A great comforter!!!  A great Father!!!!

I wrote a letter to Iain two days ago and no response.  It's certainly prayer time, and it just might be worry time.

Hey there Larry, where in Georgia do you live?  I've been to Atlanta and visited the "Underground city".  Wasn't a Christian then.  If I had been, I'd have been sitting on Charles Stanley's door step to give him a big hug.

Pat.........

I salute your police and press for being so thorough.  I pray the little girl will be found, but my fears is that she is now eternity.  My experience in these matters is that the investigators (Detectives) start their investigation with the family (Usually the father) first, then the mother.  Should the trail grow cold, they move toward a family member like an uncle, grandfather, etc.  Most child abductions are carried out by one of the above. I wouldn't be too quick to rule out a neighborhood boy in his teens or early thirties, or the sick (mentally) old man in the neighborhood.  After all of the above have been thoroughly investigated, the police move to the unknown.  Along with the investigation of the father, the police quickly check the whereabouts of registered sex offenders and whether they are employed near the scene of the alledged crime.

My oldest daughter (10 at the time) was molested by one of these dirty old men (over 70) who lived across the street.  You folks may not understand my next comment, but it's police jargon.  After yanking him out of bed in the middle of the night, I had the pleasure of screwing a pistol into his ear and arrested him on the spot.  I promise you folks, it was very hard not to pull the trigger.  He died in prison.

Sorry folks but I'm having computer problems!!!!!! Bah!!

I work with Windows XP and when I downloaded the recpmmended updates last month my machine crashed. Same again at the end of last week.

I am up and running again, however there is still problems. Something is still not right and I may have to Format the Hard Drive again to get things Ok again.

It is a huge task with the volume of data I keep on my PC - all backed up!

Very frustrating.

Jenny - keep warm sis. I'm missing you.

Larry - Nice new photo.

Pat - Great work as usual.

Lee - Sorry bro, I'll reply to you when I am in better shape. Not much hair left to pull out now!!

Just as a matter of interest folks. Since I removed my Anti-Virus software I am not getting anywhere near as much rubbish in my Inbox as I used too.

Ken - Rest easy bro and take it easy on your walks.

It may be a while before I post again, on the other hand there may be some nice computer friendly pixies around tonight who might just sprinkle some PC friendly dust on this box of junk and miraculously fix it for me.

Tee Hee!!

LOL

Your brother in Christ

Lee, having been married to a police officer (he was in both Northern Ireland and here in Canada), I can completely understand your comment above.  Jack was in similar positions a few times.  What a world we live in.

Jen...........

Don't discount having the wedding at a golf course.  You'll always find trees, shrubs, green grass, and fantastic backgrounds.  Shop around till you find one that fits your needs. Most club houses have banquet rooms, etc.

Iain........

Good to see you posting.  You've erased a few fears around here.  No need in responding, just glad your back.

Pat.........

Yes, you would understand.  I will always believe the incident affected her to some degree, but she is now about to celebrate her 50th (Surprise Birthday party from her husband).  I'll be flying to So. Cal on the 8th of Nov.  My daughter is an E.R. nurse in a trama hospital, and married to a Los Angeles police detective.  Three children of her own, and one adopted throw away child at age 5 who is now an engineer in San Diego.  They (She and her husband) have five grandchildren.  BTW, her youngest daughter Debbie, is a Second Lt. in the Army stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington and a graduate from West Point.

Monkey Business

The Monkey Poem

Three monkeys sat in a coconut tree,
Discussing some things that are said to be;
Said one to the others, "Now listen you two,
There's a rumor that certainly cannot be true --
That man descended from our noble race,
The very idea is a total disgrace!"

"No monkey ever deserted his wife,
Starved her babies, and ruined her life!
And you've never known a mother monk
Leave her babies with others, - and bunk!
Or pass them on from one to another,
Till they scarcely know who is their mother."

"Another thing that you never would see,
Is a monk build a fence round his coconut tree,
Forbidding all other monkeys from taking,
For then they would all become thieves in the making!
If I were to put a fence round my tree,
Starvation would force them to steal from me!"

"Here's another thing a monkey won't do;
Go out late at night and get in a stew,
Using a gun, a club or a knife,
To take some other monkey's life!
Yes, man descended! - the ornery cuss;
But, brothers! - he didn't descend from us!"

That is too funny, Chris.  Interesting perspective.

Lee, I'm not an officer, but had it been me, I think my feelings would have been very similar to yours.  (This next part sounds totally jaded) What kind of idiot molests a police officer's daughter???  (Any molestation is terrible, awful, and errrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggh, but it seems that an officer could make your life miserable in ways others could not!)

Hi Everyone..
Just thought I would stop in and say hello-Iian I am new here but, understand your frustrations with your computer-Ive had plenty in the past..we purchased a Hewitt Packard 2 years ago..It had been nothing but, problems-4 hardware problems in 2 years-finally we were able to make progress and get them to either give us a new computer or a refund..Well, we had received a Prophetic word from our pastors to take the $ and run-I don't know how many of you believe in prophetic words but, this was oviously from the Lord-we didn't listen ..we chose to get the new computer (we thought)instead of the refund..because the refund was much less then then what we purchased it for. Well, guess what happened? we got the new computer and from day 1 it would not even let us go online and load more then  2 pages or check mail-no matter what we did-it did the same thing-finally we called them back after 3 days and said we wanted the refund..We purchased a dell, and we have had nothing but good service and the Lord has totally blessed us with this computer-Next time we will listen to what the Lord is saying.
Hope you resolve your issues soon.
Rachelle

Hi all,

Thanks for the suggestion, JudyB, I will start with
today and then head to the prayer forum when I am
away for so long.

So many postings and "nosey me" wants to know it all; so I struggle to read all of them and really do not digest them well.

Glad that you have seen Al and Lee discussing the words of the Bible.

See how you can have a discussion without dissension among the posters.

The good LORD has chosen each and every one of his followers to be a part of HIS plan--to be more Christlike in our manner.

So with so many different personalities you can see how each one of us have different interpetations.

HE just wants us to believe in HIM, love the one who created you ; and obey the one who  spend a horrible death dying on the cross for our sins; to develop a personal relationship with HIM.

That what I do; just walk and talk to HIM on a daily basis.

Could never do it without HIM.

Lee, I would have been following you in Atlanta; running down the isle to meet Charles Stanley.

I will be heading out next Wed. to Fayetteville, NC and will not be back for a week.

Keep us in your thoughts as we travel.

Karmet, I have now gotten use to the idea of eating bisquicks and gravy; I have to try "grits" and my daughter said that one of the finger foods will be
meatballs in barbecue sauce not my italian gravy.

Meika , keep up the questions--Lee, Meika has a lot of questions and with her questions ; I have learned a lot of good Christian responses from the posters here.l  She is a delight.

Janie, I will keep you in my prayers for your doctors
appointments to be all good news---Forward and Upward!!!!

Going to see the latest on Terry --was so excited when I heard they hooked her up again

Thought of everyone's prayers here.

Take care and as always,

Love in Christ,
Joyce

Hi folks...been away lately...have you missed me?  So many projects and needs.  I try to make myself available to all who need me.  (that's a full time job!)   :P  Last night a girlfriend called - her 2 sons had been in a car wreck and she couldn't drive - would I take her to the hospital...of course!  God answered our prayers, and only one broken clavical and alot of seat belt bruising resulted.  I got to bed at 4:30am!
This past weekend was my high school class reunion.  Memoribile for more than one reason...

Friday as I was leaving for my high school reunion, my 2001 car wouldn't start.  First time I'd ever had any trouble with it, and with no previous warning.  My girlfriend drove me to the event.   I got a ride home with one of my former classmates and he jumped me off and the car ran like nothing was ever wrong with it.  I drove it around some, thinking I'd charge up the battery a little, but it was too late to do anything about it then.  The next morning it was dead again.  The next event was a lunch and I rode my motorcycle there – got the same fellah to follow me home to jump me off again.  Thought I'd get it running and drive it down to the local auto supply place and purchase a new battery.  This time he connected the cables with + to – and smoke started billowing out from under the hood.  I jumped out and jerked off the jumper cable, but the jumper cable was melted!  I could just imagine what kind of damage could have been done to the electrical system, and the money involved, but the Lord gave me peace and I stayed cool throughout the ordeal.  We drove to Walmart and he purchased a new jumper cable to replace the melted one.

I called a wrecker service and had the car towed first to the auto parts store where I purchased a battery which they installed, but the car was still dead.  So then I had it towed on to the dealer where I'd purchased the car, but their service department was closed on Saturday, so I just left the car on the lot.  At one point during this I prayed aloud, that this whole ordeal would come to a 'good end.'  I had no idea how God would bring this about.  My classmate indicated that he would pay for the damage – whatever it was, that he would reimburse me.  The men at the auto parts store said that it could be the car's computer (now that could get VERY EXPENSIVE).

Monday they checked the car and the old battery out.  The old battery was still good!  I asked them to put it back on the car.  A couple of fuses were replaced and the car runs as good as new!  Returned the new battery and got $84 back.  My classmate will send me $80 – the cost of the invoice, and I didn't even have to pay the towing charges because I have AARP road service!    I think God was trying to prove to this guy that He is Real and Relevant!   He said to me, "I think 'somebody' is watching out for you"!  Praise the Lord - I think so too!  Only I know His Name!   ;D

Lee, we live in a little town called Grayson, about 30 miles east of Atlanta.  It is between Atlanta and Athens, where the University of Georgia is located.  Hope you did well with your golf game.

Janet, out of the mouth of babes.  You have reason to be very proud of the comments Abby made to her class.  Is she attending a private school?  The reason I ask is that she mentioned the Bible and apparentely in many public schools the children are not even allowed to speak of God, or Jesus or the Bible.

Sonja, happy birthday to Chandraya.  Our children, grandchildren and now for Pat and I, our great grandchild grows up just too quickly.

Regarding the new photo, this was taken when we went to Kentucky at the first of September as we stood with a group.  I just cropped out the part related to Pat and I.  I am glad that several of you like it.  Thought it was time for a change.

Iain, sorry to read you are having computer problems.  So far I have had no problems with my Windows XP
but always shudder a bit whenever I have to put in the security patches and other updates.  However, know it is important to keep it up-to-date.  I read just today that Microsoft has put out a roll-together patch that is 9 megs zipped and when unzipped is 52 megs in size.  I think I am up-to-date so shouldn't need that one as it apparently combines all of the patches.  Iain, do hope it won't take you too long to get the problems fixed.

Ria, you are indeed unique in all of Holland.  It is nice to know a "celebrity" especially a nice Christian one.

Pat, sure sorry to ready your posting that the little girl is still missing.  Lee, what a terrible experience when your daughter was little.

Pinkie, of course we missed you as we do anyone who doesn't post for a few days.  Glad you are back and you didn't have major expense on your car.  I am very hesistate to let anyone jump start my car because of the computer.  I had to replace one of the computer's in my daughters car recently and it was over $200.

Tonight is choir practice so will be gone most of the evening.  Our choir will be singing the "Gloria" by Vivaldi on December 9th in Latin.  We have a "lot" of work to do before then.  Latin is not my native tongue. ::)

The time is 4.12 p.m. and I have finally finished reading all the postings.  Went  to town and met my daughter for lunch and have been out all day.  She had to go for Physiotherapy and we were able to spend time together.

The devotional was great Pat.  My morning 'Daily Bread'  was about effective prayer.  It stated that 'Through Prayer, Finite Man draws upon the power of the Infinite God.  The verse is:  Everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds.  Matthew 7:8.  A great reminder that God does hear and answer, according to His will.  The key for this person being....according to His will.  Not mine!

Tried to put the picture back as requested, got the dreaded  x  ...if you really want to see my face Pat, please be so kind as to work your magic.  If possible, make me smaller....A little bit goes a long way!

Ria, for a former Albertan 4 degrees Celsius is not really cold....only chilly.  Though here in BC it is not comfortable, due to the dampness.  It is approximately 40 degrees F.  I still don't think in Celsius myself and much prefer the old system.

Like your picture lots Larry.
Congratulations Ruthie.  I only have the one grandchild and she was born on Mothers Day.  Consider it the best present ever!

Happy Birthday Chandraya.  I hope that it was a wonderful day.

I love reading your posts Sarah.  What a busy gal!

Hope you get well real soon Jenny and am happy to learn the Iain is well....only the computer is ill.  I also dread doing the Windows Updates.....

Enough for today.  I must go and tend to my Canary.  He has been acting really strange lately.  Singing at the top of his voice....was quiet all summer.  Seem to like the rain....crazy bird.

God Bless, Liz.

I haven't needed to scroll sideways at all in here.

The software that CP uses is composed of many, many tables.

The widest that a graphic should be if put into the forum is 500 pixels.  Probably better if even a bit smaller or the "container" is broken.

But also, if you have the font on your own computer set to larger, then maybe this is the reason that you are having to scroll sideways.

I just haven't seen it.

Sometimes when a person puts a URL to a site off CP, and it's very long, this might cause a sideways scrolling and if this happens, then I change that if I see it to a "Click Here" type of link.

Otherwise, I'm sorry Marilyn but I don't know what maybe causing it on your computer.

Larry, I forgot to mention that I like your new photo!  Abby is in public school.  She attended preschool for three years at the Christian school, but then, this year, just before school started, the kindergarten teacher quit.  Her mother is very ill and she needs to take care of her.  So.........they enrolled Abby in the public school.  I would much rather she attended the Christian school, but they have to have a teacher!  She is learning so fast it is just incredible!

We went out to Alco today to buy a new broom and a dust mop.  As we were walking around, Abby pulled out a belt from a rack and said "Grandpa, here's a belt that would look just ravishing on you!!" ;D ;D ;D That sure got his attention!  Where do they get these words? It was so funny!  Then on the way to meet her Mom a little while ago, she said "Our new teacher (substitute) was a disaster!" Seems she didn't know whose turn it was for something. ;)  Kids!  They are something else---never a dull minute.

Mieka told me to tell everyone that she went to Santa Barbara today to ride horses with her best friend, and was going to spend the night there, and to tell everyone "Hi" for her.  I hope she has a wonderful time!

Pinkie!! I missed you!  And I am so glad you had a good outcome about your car.  Praise the Lord!  I hope you enjoyed your class reunion in spite of the distractions with the car.

Rachelle, good to see you again!  How was your day?

Papa John, we are surely praising God for bringing you back to us!  Keep getting better and stronger!

Hi there, Liz!

I guess I better stop being so gabby!  Bye!

Hi Rachelle:
Which button are you using when you post.? are you accidently hitting the quote button instead of the reply button at the bottom of the posts? You live in Idaho Right? I'll bet it gets awfully cold there in the winter. I am on the Northern Coast of californiia in the redwoods. About 100 miles south of the Oregon Border.
I live next door to my youngest son and his 2 children. I love it here. I came here July 12th from the Mojave desert. I have a total of 5 of my own 2 foster sons 11 gfrandkids and 1 great. Not bad for an only child. haha.

That is wonderful that you live by your son and grand children. I bet there alot of fun!
Blessings
Hi Janet,
Thank You I did have a very nice day-the kids did well on their school work and I got some things done around the house. Right now I am working on my Paint Shop Pro lessons-

Oh, Rachelle...  I hope I can keep up with the PSP classes.

Are you doing Week 1 or 2?

I'm still trying to finish Week 1.

If anyone is interested, here's what I have done so far...

Karmat....... Praise God for answered prayer!

So happy to hear that Terry Schiavo is eating now.  I sent an email to Jeb Bush along with many others.

I'm so glad they have passed legislation to stop the partial-birth abortions also.   That is a horrible thing.

It is great when we all agree together to pray and God answers.

Please pray for Cecilia Zhang who is missing from her home, not too far from where I live.

Love Ruthie

I have just come back from the hospital visiting my new little granddaughter.   She is lovely and the other 4 little siblings were there also.

My other son Kevin, his wife and their 2 little ones were all there in the same room as well.

Gone are the days when mothers go to the hospital and spend 1 week there and the baby is in the nursery and no visitors are allowed!

I will show some pictures when Kevin sends them to me.

Thank you for all your good wishes.

Love Ruthie

Hello all.  Good to see everyone posting today.  Marilyn, I also had an experience with a really big screen.  It was bizarre.  It was like the whole site was with 1/2 inch high letters or something.  I cut it off and came back later and all was fine.  I figgered i did something with my 'puter.

Anyway.  have a good evening.  I am exhausted, so I "might" go to bed in a few minutes.

My goodness.. what a chatty bunch we are!  It took me almost an hour to read 6 pages of notes that I was behind on!

Its nice to "see" you Rachelle!., I am enjoying our posts.  How many children do you have?

Oh Janet., Abby is so precious.  I was laughing out loud when I read what she said to her Grandpa about getting a new belt.  Where do they pick up these words, for sure

We have 2 or 3 lady bugs flying arount eh computer.  and it annoying!  Right now, one is stuck between the keys.  I remember being in Pennsylvania at a SeniorNet bash., and we were literally swamped with lady bugs...remember Pat?

Pat - I clicked on to your new PSP you are doing... its just beautiful!  Must be awfully difficult to learn.

My heart is heavy as I think of little Cecilia.  I agree with Lee... it will be a miracle if she is found alive. What an ordeal for your daughter Lee.... only the Lord kept you from pulling that trigger....!

Jen:  Have you thought about Riverside Park, or the Cutten Club for your outdoor wedding?  We atttended one at Springhill one June day., it was lovely.  You can see the white archway from Highway 6.  The only trouble was, the traffic noise from Highway 6.

My son, David was the officiating minister at that wedding.  He had a microphone., and the bride and groom were "wired" as well., so everyone could hear them say their vows.

Ruthie:  Congratulations on the new little grandchild.  How many do you have now?  They are all so precious., and you are so fortunate to have them all so near to you.

Larry:  I mean't to tell you what a nice photo of you and Pat

Hi, there everyone.

My goodness, it's so good to hear y'all talking!

Let's see - Mieka, I love your sweet posts - and I have no idea how you come up with so many of the cute little "smilies!"

And, Papa John, it's wonderful to hear your voice again. How great to hear you're doing better. Hope Cornelia is doing well, also.

Joyfulhrt, it's great to see you here and jumping right into the conversation. Wow, I hang back so much like at wallflower that I admire folk who come here and begin posting right away.

Jenny, are you feeling better? And, Ria, it's great to see the results of your practice, too.

Al, did you see that Pam is having the VAX-D treatments in hopes of avoiding her back surgery? I spoke with her Monday morning and she said that after 2 treatments the pain in her leg was much better.

Pat, I think I'm about to follow your lead. I have LOTS to be done to my teeth, and there's a university here that teaches dentistry. I didn't think I could use them, but then realized that out-of-plan dentists still have 80% coverage with me picking up 20%. So, I'm going to make the rounds to get estimates before making my final decision.

I wish I could comment on all I've read - but my post would completely fill up CP for today! Just know that I read a whole lot, post when my computer allows, and pray for each and every request.

Y'all take care of yourselves.

Ruth Ann

Lee here is another one who understands the comment from a police background...  Jack, Pat's husband introduced me to my husband as they worked together on the police force here in Canada together.  John was in the ident branch for 2 years.  Yes we understand.

Janet that Abby is really something.  The way she looks at friendship is awesome.  Keep on grandma, you are teaching well.   :)   :)  :)

I 'll bet you are glad to be home.  It is always good to visit, but there is indeed no place like home.  Can you imagine how we will feel when we indeed fo "home"?  I certainly cannot wait.

Hi

I finally got caught up on ALL the reading required.  What an awful lot of posts between yesterday and today (or is that tomorrow now?). :P ::)

Mieka, I hope you had fun horseback riding with your best friend.

Lee, I'm not an officer but I can most certainly understand the sentiment behind your comment.  I know if someone had done that to my girl, I'd have a tough time not pulling a trigger if I'd had one nearby.

Nice work on the photos Pat.

How was breakfast this morning Mom?  Good I hope!  Just wish I could have been there, but....had to work.  :(

Time to call it a night and get some rest.  The past week has not been the greatest and I'm afraid that my mood is beginning to show some sleep deprivation.  Must get that turned around AND SOON!

Good Night

Pinkie It is sooo good to see you again.  I have been thinking about and praying for you and shinenlite.  That is quite a story about the car.  It is amazing what a blown fuse will do to an electrical system.

Welcome back and next time don't stay away so long!  :D

Lee, I guess what i was thinking was that if I, as an average citizen, were in that position, I could only do so much as finding the person and proving they did it.  If I were a law officer, though, I would have access to so many more resources that I could use myself.  Also, I would know more of the laws and what it would take to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law and make sure that all available means were used.  And, I could have the satisfaction of "getting" them myself, much like you did.

Does that make any sense?

I have had a blast reading all the posts.  It took over an hour, but boy they were interesting.

Ruth I hope you had a really good breakfast out with pleasant company!

Sue I understand sleep deprivation.  Get some rest girl!

Karmat I really understand your statement.  It is a difficult situation to be in.  For the child molested as well as the parent of the child.  I pray for this little girl that was abducted.

Pat will be closing the door soon so I had better post.

Lee-I can understand how you felt about your daughter-I don't talk much about it but, I am a survivor .I am just thankful to my Lord that he kept me in his arms even during all of the pain(I know some don't understand that)But, I really believe that he kept me from something worse that could of happened..God has blessed my life more then I could ever possibly imagined with a God fearing husband and 4 beautiful Blessings in our life..I totally understand where your coming from though.
Ruth Ann, I am looking forward to getting to know all of you..

Nard...........

I'm sure you agree that it's difficult for us today to know exactly what, or how, things occured with the child Moses, other than what our Lord has told us in His Word.  I'm reasonable sure that the players (Other than Moses' mother) had absolutely no idea they were being used of God in the recovery of Moses.   We know that we cannot 'Add to, or take away" one word of Scripture without sinning.  We can however, speculate on the unknowns.  This being said, my guess is that Moses' mother knew of the place Pharaoh's wife bathed, which had to be but a few short feet from the reeds where the ark was laid by Moses' mother.  I don't believe the ark moved but a few inches.  One thing we can all agree on, and that is, God made sure He was found.
