Morning Devotional...

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints...
Ephesians 3:8

Paul's humble view of himself caused his Master to say, "friend, go up higher" (Lk. 14:10).

He experienced the truth that "when I am weak, then am I strong" (2 Cor. 12:10).

The theme of this humble servant was "Christ and Him crucified" and he was called by God to "preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ."

The one who thought himself "less than the least of all the saints" was given the honor of fulfilling (or completing the revelation with the mystery of the church) the Word of God (Col. 1:25).
                                                                         --Milton Haack

Lord, I would ask a humble heart,
A changeless will to work and wake,
A firm faith in Thy providence,
The rest, 'tis Thine to give or take.
--Alfred Norris

Thank you Pat.

Ever take a boat ride with Paul?  I have, and he's taught me to "Hold Fast".

After golf this afternoon I drove to the animial shelter to find a cat to replace my loving Snickers, but got there fifteen minutes too late.  Sooooo, tomorrow after we get our flu shots I hope to convince Vivian to add to our little family.  I know I won't be able to replace her, but another buddy would help.

My best to everyone here, and I'm keeping you all in my prayers tonight.  I promise not to fall asleep until I do.  I mean it.  Did you ever fall asleep praying?  I do almost every night.

9.10 A.M. ENGLAND.

                           GOOD MORNING

LEE thank you for our honesty.
So sorry about your cat. Hope you soon get another one.....
I have two rescued cats.  Pushkin was thrown from a second floor balcony and has a pin in his hip.  Becky is tiny and less trouble than any pet I've ever had. They are both long-haired black pussy-cats.
Mustn't forget Sunday Dog...My dearly loved med. Yorkshire Terrier.  The replacement for Piquet who really can never be replaced. He was more than a pet.
Another dull rainy day......ANOTHER PAGE FOR THE LORD TO WRITE UPON............

RIA I have prayed for you.  All will be well re the scan....God is good!

IAIN I will pop in later to see if you are around.  Prayers continue for you brother.

PAT thanks for the nice devotional. KAY has been in touch.  She's been trying to contact you. I explained how busy you are. She's feeling much better. Doing a bit in her garden again.

Speak later-on...

Love Jenny.

Ria, I am so glad your scan is over and you will soon get the results for your treatment.  For myself, I take a medicine once a week and have increased my intake of calcium daily.  I will continue to pray for you, God bless you, dear girl.

Iain, yesterdays devotional was so very good and I was going to answer you but had to go to bed...soooo sleepy.  I do get sleepy every night when I sit at the computer and wish it would go away!.  I want to stay up and read everything.  If I get here first thing in the AM...then I take away from my Bible and prayer..so am going to call it quits for now.

May all of you have a wonderful, blessed day and let's be like Paul today as Pat has in her devotional.   :) :) :)

Just a brief "Good Morning" from me today., then I'm off to the doctor's office for my infusion of Remicade  This "unpleasant" procedure takes about 3 hours.  I sit in a very uncomfortable chair; this when I finally do get home, I must rest, have lunch , then perhaps check CP.

Sorry for those of you who have lost your beloved pets.  I can't imagine how terrible that must be.  Wer (especially Norm), is so very attached to our dog Rags, he often says:" I can't imagine life without him"!  We rescued Rags as well.  He was a 2 yr. old Shih Tsu... had been kicked...burned with cigarettes... and probably thrown.  It has taken us a year to win his confidence.  He is such a dear.!

Marilyn - wasn't your Gitsie a Shih Tsu too?  I'm spelling that name wrong.

Well, I must get some breakfast in me...then off I go.

I'll check in later to see if there is any word on Papa John's condition.

Love to all..... Judy

Hi everyone.  It is still dark and overcast here in Georgia but not very chilly.  Pat and I will probably go to the water aerobics class today and then this evening I have choir practice to attend, which I always enjoy.  We are working on Vivaldi's "Gloria" in Latin to sing for our Christmas gift to the congregation.  As I have never studied Latin it is quite a challenge.  Fortunately there aren't too many phrases with the same phrase being used repeatedly in a piece.  However, it should be quite beautiful and I am sure our director will have us singing it well by the time we must sing it for the congregation.

Judy, that 3 hour treatment does sound unpleasant and certainly hope the medication helps you a lot.

Ria, know you will be anxious to get the results of your scan.  Glad that procedure is over for you.

Jenny, glad to read that Kay is doing better.  Hope the cold and damp over your way is not causing you too many aches and pains.  I am not looking forward to winter either although can hardly complain about the type of winters we have here in Georgia where we seldom see snow and if we do it is quickly gone.

Lee, do you keep your cats outside?  We have a cat, Mr. Tiggers, who is a house cat and thinks he controls everything, which in fact, he may.   ::)

It is time to leave for coffee at the cafe with my retired friends.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I just check the Have you Prayed .... area and silently say little prayers for the situations but do not always post.  So many stories.

We are looking forward to Wednesday night at church - a small group called "Spirituality" that has been going for for years.  It is a comfort zone for us.

Best to all of you, Carol

Good Morning, God Morning!

Whew!  A restless night and all because today is trash day and I had a big trash container in the garage to be picked up.  Kept thinking about whether the men would leave the container, whether I could tie the top, whether I could lift it out of the container, whether the bag would stay intact.  But the alarm went off.  I got all the house trash together.  Went to the garage.  I tied up the bag, lifted it out of the container...the bag stayed intact.  I put the bag in my little wagon, got the bag from the house and walked it all to KDon's for trash pickup.  A fitfull night's rest for nothing!!  Maybe I need a life!!!!!

Jerry has been out to check the A-frame.  He said it will be fine.  So when I go out to hang up the second load of wash, we will put the swing on the frame and sit a spell!

Lunch today will be Pinto Beans and Ham with Cornbread.  It sure does smell goooooood!!!!

I am praying that everyone has a God Blessed Day!!!

Good Morning Well Arnold is the new Govenor of California. What can I say.

The sun is shining, it is going to be a beautiful day. I am taking Fay to Eureka to shop for groceries today and out to lunch at KFC. That's where she wants to go.

Jenny I pray you will not have so many aches and pains with the weather over there.

Ria Thank God your scan is over and you will get the correct medication. I still have to have mine.

Yes Judy Gitsie was a Shih Tzu.

Thank you Pat for the devotional today. You always post one that give me things to think about.

Good Morning Everyone...

It IS Morning, Etta Sue and you're speaking of lunch!   :o  I must still get dressed!  I was working on a problematic Avon order for hours last night.  The lady who brought me the orders for her Spanish friends doesn't speak English very well and her writing is worse!

I love that Psalm 25, Chris.  I see that the sheet music can be downloaded.  I might do that and learn it on my piano.

Ria,
I'm praying for you.  What an ordeal you are going through!

Hello to everyone else.  My phone is ringing....

I'm really late in checking in today!  I went swimming, then by my sister's and had coffee, so not my usual timetable.  Change is good, right?

Marilyn, I hadn't heard the election outcome....... :-\ >:( :(
But God is still on the throne.......now we must pray for Arnold, that his heart will turn to God.  Nothing is too hard for God, and if His people pray, things WILL change!

I must get something to eat, then Darrel and I will start on the tile job again.  I will be happy to have the kitchen put back together, but it will still be a few days before that can happen.

Pat, like you, I have everything from the china cabinet to wash!  But I really don't mind, and enjoy looking at each piece and remembering its history.

God bless you, dear CP friends!

Good morning, friends! Pat, that is a really good devotional, thanks! Jenny, glad to see you; sorry for your weather. It is 83 and sunny here in Illinois today! Marilyn, my friend, how did your little Gitsie get that name? Do you have another pet? I'm so thankful for the companionship of my Corgi, and he makes me get out and walk every day, which I need to do! Ria, so glad that your procedure is over; now comes the hard part; the waiting for the results! I pray all of you have a blessed day,
Love in Him,
Cami

WHAT A FRIEND (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/TheRose.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Tune:  The Rose

Traditional Tune:  Charles C. Converse, 1832-1918 (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/whatafriendwehave.mpga)

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

Under the Microscope

Dear friends:

Have you ever wondered why many people have such an aversion to the
Bible?  This story will help explain.

It is told that many years ago, while on a visit to England, a wealthy
businessman was fascinated by a powerful microscope.  Looking through
its lens to study crystals and the petals of flowers, he was amazed at
their beauty and detail.  He decided to purchase a microscope for his
own and take it back home.

He thoroughly enjoyed using it until one day he examined some food he
was planning to eat for dinner.  Much to his dismay, he discovered that
tiny living creatures were crawling in it.  Since he was especially fond
of this particular food, he wondered what to do.  Finally, he concluded
that there was only one way out of his dilemma.  He would destroy the
instrument that caused him to discover the distasteful fact!  So he
smashed the microscope to pieces!

"How foolish!" one might say.  But many people do the same thing with
the Word of God.  They hate it and would like to get rid of it because
it reveals their evil nature.

The Bible reveals the heart of man.  "For the word of God is living and
active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to
dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and
attitudes of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12, NIV).  It is like a light shining
in the darkness of men's hearts.

The passage goes on to say, "Nothing in all creation is hidden from
God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of
him to whom we must give account" (v. 13).

Many people do not like that.  However, if they read further, they will
find the solution to their sin problem and the glorious grace of God our
Savior Jesus Christ.

Why do some people flee from and some people run to God's truths?  Our
Lord answered that question: "This is the verdict: Light has come into
the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds
were evil.  Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come
into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.  But whoever
lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly
that what he has done has been done through God" (John 3:19-21).

As someone has written, "The Bible will keep us from sin, or sin will
keep us from the Bible."

Let us live by the truth and walk in the light, and thus glorify our
wonderful Lord.

Yours for fulfilling the Great Commission
each year until our Lord returns,

Bill Bright

Hello again from Coos Bay, Oregon...and today it is rainy, rainy, rainy.  Yipeeee!

Lee, I do that a lot; fall asleep while praying.  I used to be concerned about that, but a long time ago a dear pastor said to me, "what better way to fall asleep!"   I had to agree.  I do tend to stop and pray all day long now, instead of waiting.  It just takes a minute, unless the Lord pulls me into deep intercession and then time doesn't matter.  You pray until you are done. :)

Meika you are so very sweet.  Like Pat, I just want to hug you. :)  You are very precious, little sister in Christ.  When will you leave?  Did you say that you will have computer access when you are gone?  If not, you would be so very missed. :'(

ok.  Back to cleaning house.  I'm taking a break from the kitchen, mopping now, so will get back later.

oh, wait!  I forgot to say (not that I had a working camera anyway) that I didn't see a lot of fall colors on the way to Portland yesterday.  As long as I CAN'T take a picture, I was glad things were still green. haha  Is that selfish or what??  (Sorry, Lord. I'm just kidding.)

What A Friend We Have In Jesus!  Oh, how true..how true.

Hi, again, my aunt sent this to me, and I wanted to share it with all of you.
Love in Him,
Cami
What It Means To Be A Christian
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved"
  I'm whispering "I get lost!"
"That is why I chose this way."
    When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
  I'm confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.
    When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
  I'm professing that I'm weak
and pray for strength to carry on.
    When I say..."I am a Christian"
  I'm not bragging of success.
  I'm admitting I have failed
and will better live my life to pay the debt.
    When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
  my flaws are too visible
but God believes I'm worth it.
    When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek God's name.
    When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
  I have no authority.
I only know that I am loved.

Hi Larry and Jenny:

Like you, I enjoy talking about my cats.  2 are 3 1/2 years old, Jolson a male has a black face and a white neck and  Katie a female is a calico, and the mother of  the next 2.  She is so affectionate and lovely.   The next 2 are 1 1/2 years old,   Rusty  a male is ginger coloured and  Lily a female is white with little spots of tabby.

They are all different and great companions.  They all go outside  and I try to get them in by 11:00 p.m.  If they try to go out after that, I scold them and tell them that "respectable cats don't wander around the neighbourhood after 11:00 p.m."    They look at me and say "Okay Mommy" and then find a spot to go to sleep.

Hope your kitties are as much fun!

God bless

10.35 p.m.

Oh dear , I lost my post....How annoying!

Ruthie, thanks for telling us about your pets.  We've had a succession over the years. As well as our dear cats and Yorkies, there have been gerbils, 24 t one time.....they breed and breed....and breed. Then there were hamsters, goldfish and occasional visitors such as pidgeons and hedgehogs just calling in for a feed and some t.l.c. (tender loving care).

I pray for the new Governor of California and especially for the state which our news broadcaster says in in a bad way, lots of problems. I hope there is a good team behind Mr. S. and then they can sort things out.

Janet, didn't Bill Bright die about two months ago.....Campus Crusade for Christ, Kay's husband has some involvement with it.

I am very tired tonight..It is 10.50 p.m. here in England..I was up at 5.45 a.m. for my little doggie. I didn't return to bed but instead used the time for prayer and Bible Study...such times are a real blessing., Perfect peace at that hour of the day.

Please forgive me not mentioning all of you but I am so sleepy..
Goodnight, God Bless all brothers and sisters.
Jenny.

Yes, Jenny, Bill Bright did pass away, but I still get one of his devotionals/stories each day via email.  What a great man of God he was, and reached millions for Christ!

Ria, I do understand what you are saying.  I think Arnold S. says he is a Christian, but if he is, how can he be in favor of abortion and same-sex unions?  California, and all the world, for that matter, needs much prayer!  If electing Arnold helps to get Bush re-elected in 04, then it will be worth it. (IMO.) ;)

It is supper time, and I haven't eaten lunch yet.  Time to get away from this computer!!  I did post a bunch of new photos today, if anyone is interested.

See you later!

Whew!  What a day!  I talked about lunch early because it was smelling sooooo good!  First time I had fixed dry beans for at least a dozen years.  So they had to cook awhile.

Then I decided I was tired of PSP 8 not working right.  So I called PSP Troubleshoot and talked to a person...one on one.  He called me back...told me to do so and so.  Didn't work.  Told me to do something else.  I did.  Didn't work.  Told me to update my drivers....did that.  Didn't work.  Called him back.  He was in a meeting.  He called me.  Had me save a page of my Material Dialog window being too tall and my settings for resolution page.  I emailed those to him....now waiting for another fix to do.  I still think I have a faulty PSP because PSP 7 is fine!!!  It is just PSP 8 that is messed up.  And Holiday lessons starts October 12!!!!

Jerry and I are trying to decide what to have for dinner!!!  Seems all we do is eat!

Anyway, my mind is fuzzy so he is deciding what to do for dinner.

Everyone have a great night!!!

Ria, I too am upset by what is now passing for Christianity in government.  Have felt that way for years and about 10 years ago put my dark thoughts into a poem.  Like to paint pretty watercolours and always seem to write dark poetry.

SILENCE

Christian people exist in silence

as dark forces of violence

Taint the purest air,

causing the soul to despair.

Leaders of both world and church

scramble for the safest perch,

Never thinking of Heaven or Hell

hiding, secure, behind soft-sell.

Will a world soon regret

without a moment to repent

Of sins, now grown so vast

this planet may not last.

Must all our children perish

while nations cease to cherish

A love of God, that slowly dies,

beneath the splendor of Satans's lies.        -LW

I was especially upset to read in the paper this morning about the UN telling Ottawa that parents are not allowed to use any physical means to discipline their children.  Don't believe that force is ever a way to teach a child, but what does the Bible say about this matter??

Rain and wind today.  A windy, blustery day, as Winnie the Poo might say.  God Bless, Liz.

Wow am I ever tired.  I took Fay shopping and had to shop for my own list as well, we were in the huge supermarket foir 2 hours then I had bag  the groceries myself.

It started to rain on the way to Eureka and is still raining I knew it would I washed the car yesterday.

My back hurts and my brain is muddled too. too much of a task to shop 2 lists at once.

Thank you Pat for the devotional and What a Friend set to the tune of the The Rose.   Completly relaxing!

Cami, how true that poem is.

Marilyn, I can fully appreaciate your muddled brain at trying to shop for 2 lists at once.  I don't have to do that, but do have to "multi-task" at work, and come home mentally tired pretty much every day. It is a joy to come home and be able to relax with a hot drink and CP.

What a beautiful day today.  Plenty of sun and the time to clean up the garden a little.

Thought I would check in and read the posts while waiting for the dryer to sound off, this time I started at the last post and now I will start at the beginning.

Well, hello everyone...

I've been going down memory lane this evening...lots of nice memories of a hiking holiday to Yorkshire and North Wales.

I've been looking for a photo that would be nice on a little card to give to everyone who goes on the "Jack Scott Memorial Hike" this year.  It's on October 18 and is going to be just north of Guelph.

So, maybe you, Jen and Paulette would be able to come along?  The more the merrier.  I hope that Ruthie will come and maybe you, Ruth and Sue?  Anyone is welcome.

It was beautiful weather today.  Tomorrow I go to London for another dental college appointment.  So I won't be around much tomorrow.

Talk to you all later...

An absolutely gorgeous day here today with temperatures that came up from 25F to almost 70F this afternoon.  Lovely sunshine, hardly any breeze and the brightest blue sky - the color of blue that we only see in May and October.  And it's supposed to continue like this through Saturday, then some rain on Sunday.

I'll be going in to work tomorrow, but only for a couple of hours in the afternoon and I don't think I'll be going in on Friday so I'm having plenty of time to enjoy this weather.  When I went in last Friday and Monday the building was sooooo cold - the furnace was off and the man wouldn't be there to turn it on until today.  So I hope by tomorrow it will be warmed up nicely.  :-\

Our pastor called this morning to let us know a special prayer meeting for our service men and women has been scheduled for October 24.  We'll be sure not to miss that one.

Just a quick note before I call it a day.

Ria:  I do understand what you are saying... and I totally agree.  How can leaders such as Arnold call himself a Christian (I didn't hear that myself), yet favour abortions and same-sex marriages.  I believe Janet made this comment as well.

Janet:  I agree.... if this helps Pres. Bush get re-elected, then this election of Arnold is a good thing.

Perhaps I told you... our son and DIL who live in Michigan, became American citizens last month.  They are delighted with this decision...we are too.... they want to be able to vote, and their thinking is like yours Janet!  Actually, now they will have duo-citizenship papers, so thats a good thing as well.

I love hearing about all your pets...I am a dog person myself.  My little Rags is sleeping here at my feet as I type.  He seems to like hearing the keys clacking away, because as soon as I sit here, he sits at my feet.

What is the latest on Papa John?  I was so hoping to see a post from Ruth Ann.

Marilyn:  I love shopping.... have you ever been to a "Super Walmart"?  We have... in Florida....love that store.  Its one stop shopping for sure.  We don't have Walmart here in Guelph....sure wish we did.

Well, has anyone started Christmas shopping yet?  I have!!  Every year i say I'm cutting back.... this year I mean it!  (I hope...LOL)

Well, my eyes are getting sore from lack of sleep., trust you all have a good evening!

Love....Judy

Mieka....good idea to hide in the corner until Etta Sue decides not to eat a Chinese for dinner! ;)  You are such a ray of sunshine, and I just want to keep you!

Pat, enjoy your drive to and from London.  I hope the traffic won't be too terrible, and that the dentistry won't be painful this time.  Love you!

Cami, I really enjoyed the poem you posted.  And Liz, lots of truth in your poem, too!

See you in the morning!

Did someone mention Christmas?  Today I bought the Thanksgiving Turkey and it has yet to be cooked!  Passing thought, since we Canadians have our Thanksgiving first, does that mean we get to claim it as our idea??  (kidding, kidding!)

The poem, What it means to be a Christian, has been going thro' my mind all day, as have thoughts about my brother.  Since he always brings up the subject of religion, I decided to ask him if it was simply to challenge me or because he was curious about why I would put my faith in a higher power.  So wrote a letter with this question and the poem, stating that it clearly expresses my own feelings, and sent a copy of the book 'The Case For Christ', by Lee Strobel.  It is a journalist's personal investigation and search for truth and evidence of Jesus.  My brother is a former accountant and has an analytical mind, so my hope is that he will be curious enough to read the book.  This is something that I would normally not do....rather keep peace and dodge the sarcasm.  For some reason can't leave it that way....Stated that I could only wonder why intelligent people, when given a choice between a possible Heaven or a possible Hell, would not chose Heaven.  Then stated that I did not intend to say anything further on the subject.  That he is a Big Boy and can make his own choices.

Plan to post this in the morning and leave the rest to God.  Suddenly feel much better about the whole matter and thats all folks......God Bless, Liz.

good evening everyone!

I had a very busy day today.  I got up and worked on prints. I then jogged for 2 miles, that was a work out.  Chandraya and I spent the morning and early afternoon together.  Her birthday is coming up so we got a bunch of party gifts.  We had a great time.

I came home and played football with my boys and jammed my fingers at least 3 times.  "Ouch!"   I then took Chandraya to dance and took a few pictures come home and relaxed for about 30 minutes and then played football again and walked Lila Mae around the block a few times.

Cooked dinner at 6:00pm fed the kids and sent Chandraya to church and I went to dance for 2 1/2 hours.  Wow...I am tired. I feel like a put my body through a washing machine.  I now need to hang out to dry for a few hours.  ;) ;D

Hope you all have a good day tomorrow.
Love Sonja

Hi Liz:

Another good book is "Jesus amongst other gods" by Ravi Zacharias.   Ravi is a thinker and apologist.

Today was a lovely day in Guelph.  I hope that there are many more days like today.

We've opened a new topic for October 9 so please CLICK HERE[/b] (http://christianphotographers.com/yabbse/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=1449) to continue your discussion.

It would be nice if there were some messages for our Brits and Dutch to read in the morning when they get up!

(Hope you're feeling better, Ria.)
