Morning Devotional...

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.
Psalm 42:5

Are you cast down like a poor helpless sheep that can't get up by himself?

Has peace and tranquility been taken from you?

It is a simple truth but hope thou in God! He sees; He hears; He knows!

The Good Shepherd is able to place you on your feet again, give strength to your bones, and restore joy to your soul!
--E. MacLelland

Hope thou in God! Hope thou in God!
In sunshine or rain,
In sorrow or pain
Hope thou in God!

I am all packed and ready to leave for Southern Indiana.  The furkids have plenty of food and water.  Hope Ali drinks from the bowl...I won't be here to turn on the faucet.  She is spoiled!  It is suppose to be sunny and in the 80's both days so that will be nice.

I will look for 'S-Shapes'!!

Hi Everyone:

I got Pat's reminder.   I am supposted to be at a singles conference right now, but yesterday I fell and twisted my ankle.  It seemed okay all day, but at night I couldn't walk on it.   I came home from the church and drove with my bare foot.  It was my right foot for the gas pedal.   Today I thought I would take it easy and maybe go to the rest of the seminar later.

I found if I go for a long walk, 30 minutes, my blood pressure drops down, but now it's hard to walk.   Oh well it shouldn't last too long.   Today is dull and miserable.   When I said the word miserable to my new Korean girl, she had to go and look it up.    She doesn't know a lot of English and then our special sayings are another story!

Next week the Gaithers, Pat.    God bless

Love Ruthie

I agree Al.  Love Etta Sue's little graphics!

Ruthie, I'm sorry you twister your ankle.  It better be better next Saturday!  So nice to see you here.  It's been awhile.

Etta Sue, have a good time.  Talk to you when you get home.

Hi everyone.

We were gone all morning and have just finished lunch but have a busy later afternoon planned so want to go ahead and post.  Our son is going to bring over the 54" Sony HDTV that his wife had that won't fit into the place where they are moving.  We are trading them TVs and they will take our 32" TV.  They are moving next Tuesday so they are busy making final preparations.  Tomorrow night we are all going out to to eat together.

This evening we are going out to eat with our friends with whom we play cards or games with on occasion.  We are going to Chili's in the new shopping center that opened recently in our area.

Janet, it sounds like the little lady really took advantage of your loving and generous nature  in not trying to help if she were able.  Glad that you are not letting that spoil your day.

Sarah, happy birthday.

Ruthie, sorry that you are having trouble with your foot.  Hope it heals quickly and you can attend the conference.

Etta Sue, we have a cat who always wants to drink from the faucet of the bathtub.  It started out as a morning things and he has now trained us for two or three times a day.

Pat, thanks for the fine devotional today.

Liz, no need to stress over the coffee pot as you can't control what the will or won't do.  Hopefully they will make things right.

Marilyn, that is indeed unpleasant news on your car as their is nothing inexpensive about the computers on the cars.

Time for a little nap so I will be rested for the activities later in the day.

Sarah, that's good in a way, because now you still have the steaks to look forward to!

Ruthie, sorry about your ankle, hope it gets better quickly.

Larry, both Darrel and I went today to "help" the lady, and it was the same thing.  But in three hours, we got her bed moved and set up (she had been sleeping on the floor), new refrigerator and stove installed and hooked up, old ones removed, several bookcases, a desk, and other stuff moved.  We told her when she gets things straighteded up so there is room for more, we will help her move more stuff.  She has enough stuff for 10 people!  :o  She can't drive, as she is nearly blind, and nearly deaf as well, so the only way she can move anything is in her little red wagon!  It is about two or three blocks that she is moving.  Oh, yes, we did repairs, too, cleaned shower head, replaced toilet paper holder, hung a door, moved another one out of her way, etc.  So that should be a lot of help.

Abby called me while we were helping Twila and was so disappointed that we weren't coming to watch her play volleyball.  Then she called again a little while ago to say that her team won both their games.  :)

Like Larry, I think I will lie down for a while, I seem to be worn out.

Well I  now have Gilbert's old car, the Mitsubishi Montero SUV. They are off to Truckee to a wedding today. It takes 8 hours to get here. Their new car is a Hybrid I think a Prius.

I  have been out to walk the dogs already and it is such a beautiful day here on the Lost Coast.

Thank goodness, I'm on vacation for a week. The last 3 days have really been busy - an all day training course, typing 2 handwritten reports and preparing them for presentation next week and also moving my cubicle again.
\
They're trying to get the people who do similar things grouped together (sort of like doing a defrag on the computer, except this is with people in our office building). So, our other move was temporary - it's just that we didn't KNOW it was temporary. So, I was ready to rest last night.

My grandson who lives in England is in the States and will be visiting us in Nashville starting Monday. Since my son and his mother are divorced, I haven't seen him in about 10 years - can't wait to see him and get a hug from my now-grown-up-and-adult grandson!

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

Ruth Ann, that will be one hug you'll never forget for sure.  I pray that your get together will be a memorable one with your grandson.

Yes, Ruth Ann, that is wonderful news, and I know how sweet those grownup grandson hugs are!!  My grandson Curtis is 23 years old today!  I tried to call him, but didn't connect.

I have spent the afternoon organizing an office for my new business.  Darrel had an extra 2 drawer filing cabinet upstairs, so we got that moved down here beside my desk, and I have all my stuff put into hanging file forlders and labeled.  Feels good to have some organization, instead of having to hunt through piles of papers to find what I need.

I do believe it is time for a little supper!  Then I might just watch a movie, for a change.

I would like to thank those of our members who regularly go into our Introductions area and welcome our new folks.  This is such a very important step for a new member to start feeling at home on a site.

Thanks!

It was a foggy night last night. I found I was enjoying looking at all the various street lights as they interacted with the fog. I got to thinking that they are like Christians. They light the fog of this world in various ways, some brightly, some diffusely, some are like flood lights and some like fireflys.

My Client Ruth went home from the hospital today to her own home. Praise the Lord it was my prayer for her NOT to go to the nursing home.  I will be back to working 5 days per week for the time being.  Two for Jan and three for Ruth beside doing my home business.

Janet the company I am distributing for does the shipping direct to the customer. All I will have on had are the gift packs that I give away to the people as gifts to try out. They will order on the phone or online on my company website and my company number.  I will do all the book work online. I like it that way.

I have just been relaxing today and quilting not much else.

Just adding Sept. 17 to the Subject line for tonight as it's very late and we have been having problems with the Cafe website since mid-afternoon.

So, very tired and want to get up early as Judy McKenna is having her surgery at 8 am tomorrow for hip replacement in Hamilton and I'm taking Norm down there to see her for right after the surgery.

So, we'll chat tomorrow.

Everyone try to get a photo of something tomorrow!

That would be nice, but when I get off work, I have time for a little break, and breakfast, then off to church. Then I'll be off to work again after a few hours sleep Sunday night.

Hmmm... what can I take photos of today?  I will see.

Beth wants to go to church with us today, rather than going to the services they have at the Home, so we need to leave a little early, as loading her takes extra time.

So, everyone, go hunting for unusual--maybe even S-curve?-- subjects to photograph today!  :)

Thank you Larry & Janet:

I went to the conference on Friday, but after taking off my shoe, my foot was hurting and I couldn't get my shoe back on.   Everyone was going to workshops and I couldn't walk, so I hobbled out to the car and came home.   It was a little better Saturday but I didn't go.  Now it is a lot better and still swollen and a bruise is coming.    Oh well God is Good!   Have a wonderful Lord's Day!

Love Ruthie

Good morning and God Bless everyone!

Just back from early church, gotta cook lunch today.... so skipped Sunday School.  :'(

With the daughter breezing in and out each weekend from college, it seems we don't have enough family time.  At least she has been coming home on a regular weekend basis.

Better get upstairs and stir the pot..... ya'll have a great Sunday.

Jesus said, "Who do you say I am?"  This is a powerful, six word sentence.  I hope everyone here has answered this question, if you haven't, it's not too late.

God Bless !

Hello everyone:  Yesterday was cloudy and now it is a beatiful sunny Sunday afternoon.  Yesterday afternoon Sue & I went to the Brampton Fair which was a first for me.   Saturday evening Mel & myself went to the Presbyterian Church to hear a concert by Eduard Klassen, Eduard plays the harp and between songs gives his testimony. Should Eduard visit your area do your best to go and hear him.

Today our son came for a visit which we always enjoy seeing him.

Etta Sue:  Some time ago you asked how I did the copy and paste on your animation, I really do not remember although I think it was done to an e-mail I sent to a dear aunt. Your animations bring sunshine to her sometimes trying days. Again I hope you do not mind.

I think perhaps I will go and get the daily paper read before going out for dinner.

Hi everyone.  This will be brief as am writing from the library.  I spent about $20 of prepaid cellphone minutes with my Internet Provider today and still no Internet.  They had canceled the MAC address of my modem so they wouldn't allow me to access any pages even though the modem is working fine.  Apparently when I changed modems a few months ago they didn't change their records and when they did a scan last evening mine came up different than their records so they just cut off my service.  I am not pleased to say the least.  I spoke to three different techs and waited for probably 20 minutes for "Provising", whatever that is, and finally gave up and came to the library and wrote them a note with my information and told them I expect them to get me back online.  I am about ready to go back to DSL and give up some of the speed for some reliability.

We went to church this morning and had a good Sunday School lesson from 2 Peter.  Difficult verses in that chapter.  We then had a good church service and the choir sang well.

We are meeting our son and daughter-in-law at a restruarant in about 90 minutes from now.  They are moving on Tuesday to North Augusta, South Carolina (a little over 2 hours from here).  Yesterday afternoon they brought over their big Sony 54" TV that is high definition.  I will get that service when we come back from our trip early in October.  It is really a large screen.

Till next time.

Ruth, glad you got to enjoy a lovely harp concert and a good testimony.  Nice to see your post!

Larry, sorry about your internet service---you, of all the people I know, need it most, so I hope it is restored MUY PRONTO!!  I didn't realize the Carolinas were only 2 hours from you, that's not so bad after all.  You should be able to see your son pretty often, anyway, I hope that will be the case.  Enjoy your giant screen TV!  :)

Sarah---OUCH!  You're too young to be "all stove up" and I hope you get better quickly.

Time to get going to church for evening service.  See you manana!

Thanks again for the wonderful comments about my graphics and animations.  Big thanks!

Our family reunion was great.  Tony followed me down and got to see and talk to his cousin that lives in northern Indiana.  I did find out that from my great-great grandparents there are over 3100 descendants.  And someone did research about both of those g-g-grandparents back to 785 a.d.  She said that once you get your lineage to 'over the pond', then they kept fantastic records there.  So I am English, Welsh and Irish.  One of those ancestors was from Sussex, England, and she showed a picture of a church is still standing and used today that he was affiliated with.  (Hoosier preposition!)

Tony went back home but after the reunion Ivalou and I went to the motel and put on our swimsuits because AAA said the pool was an outdoor heated pool.  NOT!  I got in up to my waist but I couldn't go farther.  Two little girls jumped in and we asked one if it was cold to her and she said "Y-y-y-y-yes!"

After breakfast this morning, I drove west and went over the Scotsburg Knobs...up steep hills and at the top I couldn't even see the hood of my car...then suddenly going back down!!!  Then I drove on SR135....a very crooked scenic highway.  Then we stopped for a Mexican meal and on home.

I mowed when I got home.

We could not have asked for better weather yesterday and today.
