"If we try to get up warm feelings and good dispositions in order to remove some fancied remainder of distance, we shall fail; not simply because these actings of ours cannot do what we are trying to do, but because there is no need of any such effort. The thing is done already. God has brought his righteousness nigh to the sinner."

Morning Devotional...And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham.Genesis 26:18
Water is a symbol of the Scriptures, as critical to the saint of today, as water was to the desert traveler in the past.
Sadly the forces of intellectualism and higher criticism have stopped many a refreshing well opened up by men of God in the past.
We need to open these up again. Of the Old Testament, sadly neglected today, Paul says, "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition" (1 Cor. 10:11).
Let's drink deep of these wells again today.
—W. H. Burnett Open wide the living fountain,
whence the healing waters flow,
Be Thyself our cloudy pillar,
all the dreary desert through.

Romans 8:38-39
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus."
The Lord provides for me always,
For each and ev'ry care.
And tho' the storms should come,
I know that Christ is always there.
And who shall take salvation from me,
Or steal the grace I've known?
Not even the gates of hell
Shall destroy the love that God has shown,
The love that God has shown.
Chorus
For I'm sure that neither death (not death), nor life (nor life),
Nor height (nor height), nor depth (nor depth),
nor anything else in the world
Shall be able (shall be able) to cut us off from God,
Shall be able (shall be able) to separate this Love,
In Christ Jesus, we have won!
We have won!
Jesus Christ is the Answer,
I need to search no more,
For when by grace He called to me,
I opened wide the door.
No longer must I fear the Temptor,
Nor face this life alone:
My Savior is here to stay,
Till the day He brings me home,
The day He brings me home.

Hi Pat. I enjoyed the devotional today.
I am up early and have a lot to do before 3:00 this afternoon. Then a trip into North Bay which will be an evening long trip. Kass and Elby have Navy League, and both are up for promotion. They both are looking forward to the position of Divisional Petty Officer. Melaura has youth on Fridays, but it doesn't start till next week. We will have some one on one time at the mall. That will be a treat.
Sure can tell autumn is here. The grass is crunchy. There is lowlying fog around the creek and river. It is so pretty, and almost looks like smoke as it rises andisipates. So pretty.
Well have a good day everyone and God Bless.

Pat: Thank you for this devotion today and for these words from the song. I am thoughtful of a school friend right now. I have been thinking of her often in the past two weeks and finally called last night only to learn that she has a cancer that cannot be cured.
We are going to the mountains for a week. It is always healing and refreshing to view the creations right in our own backyard, so to speak.
Carol
Hi everyone. Just back from Friday coffee at he senior center here in our little town. At eleven this morning we have our monthly SeniorNet Computer Center volunteer meeting. We will have a business lunch there and following that I have to take back the rental car and pick up my Saturn. It appears they are not going to do anything about the problem with starting as they can't duplicate it. They were going to keep trying awhile longer and I am suppose to hear back from the area service representative today. I am becoming very frustrated with the situation.
Pat, thanks for the devotional today.
Papa John, we will be praying for you next Monday. They certainly have improved that operation and it is so much different than it used to be. I am sure you will be able to see better after it and as I know you enjoy reading so much it undoubtedly will seem like a real blessing to have the cataract removed.
Marilyn, hope you will be able to get moved this weekend but am sure you want the work finished there before you try to live there. You are fortunate that you still have some working time before you have to complete the move. If you don't get to take the stove with you and if there is a lot of new development in your area you probably will be able to find a good stove that people couldn't use when they moved into a new house. I know that has been the case here. You might also check with some of the appliance stores about good stoves they may have taken in when installing a new one.
JudyB, hope you have a good trip this evening and enjoy your time at the mall.
Am thinking of Ruth Ann and Judy McM and several other of our CP members who are struggling with health issues.
Welcome to Monty and to all the new member who have joined us in the last few months.
I hope everyone has a good day. It is another early fall day here with the temperatures that are very nice and the humidity is low. The air is clearer also during these days.
I heard this morning that the Atlanta area will be getting 25,000 more evacuees from the hurricane families. There are already a lot of folks here that were able to get here on their own. The needs are so large.
LarryI heard on the news yesterday that there were supposed to be 400 evacuees to come to the San Fransisco and San Jose areas and they refused to come to California saying that it was too far from home (N.O.) SJ was to get 100 and SF was to get 300. The new landlords will get me a stove if I can't take this one with me. I won't have to by one.
Thank you Pat for the devotional and the song. I have not been posting any devotionals ever since you asked us not to post them here but in the Manna folder. I don't think very many people read the Manna folder so I just quit posting them.
Hey Jane where are you? You missed a couple of days playing the games with me. Hopoe you are OK.
Papa John I will be praying for you come Monday.
Carol I hope you have a great time int he mountains today.
Well that's all for now folks.

Pat, thank you. I'm not worried at all about this cataract thing. I remember many years ago when my sweet mother had this operation it was a major procedure. But today they put you to sleep for a minute while the doctor deadens the area. Then you don't feel a thing.
Larry, thank you. Yes I think this will really improve my vision. My left eye also has a cataract but it is not nearly as bad as the right eye. Anyway I'm just glad it is possible to get this done.
I have a lot of work today to make birthday cards and other projects so I had better get busy.
1 Cor 15:57-58
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (KJV)
I hope you all have a good day.

Again, thanks to everyone who sent birthday wishes to me. Very much appreciated!
Papa John ~ The cataract surgery is a breeze. I haven't had it done but my mother and sister had/has. The Eye Clinic in Indy even has drivers to come and get you and bring you back home...might say 'pick up and delivery'. So convenient...especially when one can't see to drive afterwards. And you are right...it only take minutes for the actual surgery. You will do fine and you will be amazed how well you will see!
Marilyn ~ I know you will be so happy to get moved and especially in a newly remodeled home. You must take pictures once the move is done.
Larry and all who use PSP ~ PSP X is so easy. It even has a palette that is called the 'Learning Center'. Gives you step by step what to do for pictures...how to load them into PSP, Adjust, Retough and restore, Create collages, Add text and graphics, apply effects and Print and share. No need to have your little instruction book out OR take tutorials. I have before and after pictures of Tony and Charlene that I used PSP X on the after picture in the Gallery. Check them out!! I haven't gotten to working with selections, layers, colors, materials, effects or text yet. But again, it seems more geared to photos than the other PSP versions.
Today, I am taking Bernice to her doctor appointment...Ivalou is going with us. Bernice is 94 years young and I only wish I could get around like she does even though she is almost blind. Then this evening Ivalou and I are going to Tony and Charlene's and out to eat for my birthday....hmmmm! I think I am hungry for a steak!(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(

"An anchor for the soul, firm and secure."
Hebrews 6:19
Words: William C. Martin, 1902.
Music: Daniel B. Towner
Though the angry surges roll
On my tempest driven soul,
I am peaceful, for I know,
Wildly though the winds may blow,
I've an anchor safe and sure,
That can evermore endure.
Refrain
And it holds, my anchor holds:
Blow your wildest, then, O gale,
On my bark so small and frail;
By His grace I shall not fail,
For my anchor holds, my anchor holds.
Mighty tides about me sweep,
Perils lurk within the deep,
Angry clouds o'ershade the sky,
And the tempest rises high;
Still I stand the tempest's shock,
For my anchor grips the rock.
Refrain
I can feel the anchor fast
As I meet each sudden blast,
And the cable, though unseen,
Bears the heavy strain between;
Through the storm I safely ride,
Till the turning of the tide.
Refrain
Troubles almost 'whelm the soul;
Griefs like billows o'er me roll;
Tempters seek to lure astray;
Storms obscure the light of day:
But in Christ I can be bold,
I've an anchor that shall hold.
Refrain

Yes my Anchor Holds.
I have just put on a pot of Borscth. mmmmm good I can't hardly wait until it is done.

Marilyn, the move will be over before you know. It is so nice to know that this is a long-term thing for you and that you won't have to face this anytime soon unless you choose to!
One long week has been laid to rest. Today I think was the longest of them all. One girl phoned in sick and we were unable to replace her so functioned one person short all day. We made it through but were tired at the day's end. I now have two days off to rest and rejuvinate before another full 5 days next week.
I have several chores that need doing, so must get busy and get them done.
Nice to hear from you Sue but sorry it was such a LONG week. Yes, rest up over the weekend.
I've had another long day. The garage sale is going pretty well (we will have it again in the morning, for 2 hours.) I'm not selling the stuff I most wanted to, even though I marked it really cheap. :( But what sells, I won't have to mess with any more. Any clothes left are going to be donated to whoever wants them!
It was wonderful to visit with Dr. Sue last night. She can use a lot of prayer, as she will be spending the entire month of October in Afghanistan! Very dangerous for her, and for the rest of the team. This time, she is working with YWAM. She shared stories with us of her trip to Nepal in April with YWAM (Youth With a Mission). They were privileged to witness several miracles while there. We asked her if she fears for her life, and she said yes, her flesh is very afraid, but God told her to go, and she must obey. What a terrific woman of God she is. They asked if her husband worries about her going, and she said people often ask him "You mean you're letting her go THERE?" And his first answer is "Who do you think is going to stop her?" But then he adds, "If God tells her to go, she HAS to obey." He is also a doctor, but is a nominal Christian and doesn't do the missions trips.
I am really really tired tonight, another not good night last night, woke at 4:00 AM and couldn't get back to sleep.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, ETTA SUE!! WHAT A DELIGHT YOU ARE!!
Good night, folks! See you another day.
hey... i'm still here been busy between work and school.... well i need to go ttyl
Sarah
Sarah, it's so nice to see you pop in. Thanks for keeping in touch.
Now, it's time to lock the door.
