Morning Devotional...The scribes and the Pharisees began to urge Him vehemently, and to provoke Him to speak of many things...seeking to catch something out of His mouth, that they might accuse Him. Luke 11:53-54
His antagonists were attempting to provoke Him to unwise words.
James reminds us that one proves himself to be perfect by controlling the tongue. Our Lord's critics failed on this occasion, as on every occasion. In fact it was His words which impressed the temple guards sent later to capture Him (Jn. 7:46).
He is God's Final Word to mankind (Heb. 1:2).
Let us seek the Spirit's guidance in our speech so that we may follow His example.
--Garry W. Seale
O Word! O dear and gentle Word!
Thy creatures kneel before Thee,
And in ecstasies of timid love
delightedly adore Thee.
--F. W. Faber
Hi Pat:
I thought I would be the first to post today. Thank you for the devotional. It is so important to guard our tongue.
Well I will post later.
Bye bye.
Ruthie
Hi Ruthie!
Did you see how close you were to my locking the door? About 1 minute!
Great to see you posting twice.
Did you go and see the Pet Photos? I've put some of my cat and Geordie in there.
I guess that means I have to repast the ones of my pets? I have a few new ones of the cats but Heather has not been around to put them on the web site for me.
Have a good day all. Mother is doing well, I deliberately have tried to spare her feelings by not pointing out the date. We had pictures taken of 7 of the grand children with her so she is quite excited about that. I will be posting them here after I let Heather do some "Photo Magic" with them.
Those who are still up have a good night, and to those who read it in the morning Good morning.
Blessings to all
Love Judy
9.30 a.m.
Gosh I thought I'd log on a bit later today...see what's happening everywhere...Only me here..
Judy you were late to bed...a BUSY day for you yesterday. Hope things go smoothly for you today.
Pat, Good-morning Ma'am! I will have a look at your pets later and will "guard my tongue" today......By the Grace of God!
Another dull wet morning here and time to get the woollies back from my top shelves into the lower drawers. I always change over with the seasons!.....Summer things get washed out and popped away about now.
I did the curtains Pat...Now I've loads of ironing to finish.....Oh well later.....Ha Ha! MUCH LATER!
Brothers and sisters I do hope you all enjoy this day. It is a gift from God.
I have been singing the words:-
"I need You every hour
Every hour I need You.
Please help me O My Saviour,
I come to Thee".
My thoughts are already with the dear families of llth Sept.....and will be tomorrow..as some of you will be asleep when we arise over here I send love..
GOD BLESS AMERICA
In Jesus' Name.
Jenny.
Good morning all 10.45 AM

IS THAT ALL OF YOU?
Jenny, how is Chris doing? When does his new position begin? Is tomorrow the day that Helen has her scan?
Thanks, Pat, for that devotional. I'll be thinking of it today while I work. I'm in lots of telephone contact with clients, so this is certainly a good reminder for me.
Y'all have a good day.
Ruth Ann
Good morning everyone! It's a nice day here in Ontario, the sun is shining, and it's not stuffy hot. We are on a rigid cleaning schedule today. My parents took the two little ones camping, and they're coming home today. But having four young adults alone in the house doesn't inspire thoughts of it being kept clean! So our day today is pretty much taken up.
Papa John-I'm sorry to hear you're in so much pain. I really hope things improve for you over the next little while. I'll be praying for you.
Pat-don't you overdo it with your hutch and buffet! You call if you need some help!
Have a great day everyone. God bless. Jen.
Hi everyone. It is a beautiful day that God has given us here in Georgia today. I wore a sweater when I walked a little before sunup this morning. Pat and I are going to the YMCA for the water aerobics class this morning. It has been a week since we attended and I have a meeting on Friday so this will be it for me this week.
Ria, sorry to read of your continuing pain and do hope you will find relief from your planned medical activity.
Karmat, there is a lot of pollen here in Georgia. Only the last couple of years has it bothered me. The Clartin seems to help a lot.
One sentence in my devotional readings this morning from Oswald Chambers caught my eye and so I wanted to share it as a thought provoker for the day:
Quote...God Rarely allows a soul to see how great a blessing he is. Source: My Utmost for His Highest based on John 7:38
I have a lot I need to get done today so will try to get back this evening.
Good morning/afternoon! Some good and thought provoking posts already this morning. I was lazy and didn't go for my usual half mile swim today, because I was awake for hours, then was sleeping when time to go. Darrel needs my help in pulling wire at one of the elementary schools today, so I expect I will get in quite a lot of walking, that's good exercise, too. ;)
We saw on TV that New Mexico had several inches of snow in the mountains last night. Janice, I know Clovis isn't in the mountains, but did you get a sudden drop in your temperature there? I'm glad we went to Santa Rosa last weekend before it got cold!
Darrel just brought my breakfast---sausage and egg--so I will talk to you more later!
Good Morning> Pat thank you for the devotional this morning. It reminds me of a line in Psalm 141. "Set a guard over my mouth and keep watch at the door of my lips." Oh how I wish that some others would guard thier mouths, I get so sick of hearing foul language coming from the mouths of Christian people.
I am going back to Bea's house today instead of to the other lady. I am taking a couple of days extra to be with Bea and giving those hours to the other lady's other caregiver. Like I said yesterday I am not a doormat. Her other caregiver can do some of the work now instead of sitting and watching TV all day.
TTYL
Snow in Mexico? Wow!
That breakfast sure sounds good, Janet!
Wonderful devotional.
As a young believer in Christ I sometimes find myself not minding the words as well as I should that move past my lips to the hearts and minds of others. The Good News is that I have a working relationship with God and He is helping me with this.
Everyday I find a new peace about myself that only God through the Holy Spirit can provide. Everyday I am greatful and I give thanks for all he gives me. Without him I am nothing.
I also would like to ask a few questions about this website. Not sure where to post them. I plan on spending a lot of time here. I am talking hours a day. (or Night)
Thank you for your time.
John (TurboTech)
Marilyn, I'm remembering your requests today. Thanks for posting them yesterday in here.
Welcome PatMeeks! Tell us a little about yourself!
Papa John: You so seldom "complain" - don't ever worry about "complaining" as we do want to know what is happening with you and Cornelia. I hope you feel better soon.
Janet: Hello to you too! You asked about having a day of accomplishing nothing - well, sometimes I think we are just supposed to slow down our lives and think and pray about what is really important. So, - bet you did accomplish something. :D
Marilyn: Terrific - glad that you are getting a super camera!
Thanks for all of the devotions. I don't always comment but this is a lovely place to visit.
Carol
I have writen Jane in my message about my back
BUT IT MUST BEEN JANET> SHE HAS ASF ME HOW MY BACK IS
SORRY RIA :o
Pat, that is NEW Mexico! ;)
Turbotech, I'm sure Pat will be back and answer your questions soon!
Hi John!
Nice to see you here in our sort of like a coffee shop!
Yes, "New Every Morning" is the members corner shop or the local coffee/donut shop. The cyber coffee/tea/whatever is always fresh in here and it never runs out.
This is where we share our daily thoughts about a scripture or even where we say what our plans are for the day.
Sometimes we even have a sing-song in here! We keep this topic open all day and then around midnight tonight, I lock the door and then start a new one with tomorrow's date.
Glad you enjoyed today's devotional. I think that all of us must guard out tongues as we go about our daily chores.
Pat
Thank you Pat.
Just Curious. Has anyone thought of maybe an Online Relay Chat that can be added to this website.
John.
Good morning Pat, Ruthie, Jenny, Ria, RuthAnn, Jen, Larry, Janet, Marilyn, John, and Carol ... and whoever slips in while I'm trying to call roll! ::)
Light rain here overnight and continuing this morning. I have an appointment at 11 to have my eyes examined and new glasses prescribed. Then I am ordering a delivery of fire wood! I will see if I can get some of the men from the Mission to come chop (if it's needed) and stack it for me.
It is so exciting to feel my Father's loving care in supplying for my needs at just the time I need it! I am thankful for friends, who are His faithful servants and know His voice and are obedient.
Pat~the devotional this morning is very sound advice for every day. Especially important is it to guard one's words from speaking too much or giving "too much information" when being questioned. I had this experience just a few days ago. Someone was asking a lot of questions in the guise of "wanting to learn" ... but I knew this person was in fact "grilling" me and actually hiding a very critical attitude toward me and my calling. It is better to say "I don't care to discuss this" or "that's something I am not at liberty to divulge" than to give the enemy ammunition. Right?
I will be back as I have the opportunity today ... I pray everyone has a wonderful, God-blessed day!
Hi John... I have thought about it but we're still very small. I'm not sure how much space it would need and I'm limited with that due to funds.
I was interested in the software that the DPC Fanatics was using. Haven't thought much more about it due to travelling in August.
I may do more thinking about it when I get caught up.
Hi Jane! Glad you're getting your firewood. Now... if I can get a new roof before winter, I'll be happy. :o
Well Pat,
being a roofing contractor, if there is any advice needed just let me know, but noooooo I dont travel THAT far, lol.

Good morning everyone. Good afternoon to those who are there ahead of the rest of us.
Yes, as Jane said, we had rain overnight and it's still drizzling. The flowers are droopy but drenched with that good rain water. I'm expecting that if we have some sunny weather now, they'll perk up and be brighter and sassier than before.
Pat, that was a good word this morning, about watching our conversation and quick responses. When I think of the power of words, it makes me more aware of the need to offer them carefully.
Have a blessed day everyone. Sorry I haven't responded to individuals yet, but I'm getting the swing of this again. :) I like reading about what your day is like and what you're feeling. grateful for the Master's love and His family. Nita
Good to see you this day Turbotech
God bless you Ria
I am Dutch please forgive me as i make mistakes.
This has been an unusual day. Snow in the mountains of New Mexico and here in North Bay we have 25 C degree weather. (to figure that out multiply 25 X 9 divide by 5 and then add 32.)
God is so good. There is an engine problem with my lawn tractor, (sounds like a crank shaft, what ever that is!) and we have no way to get the wood in. I got a bill in the mail for $139 and finally got somewhere in finding out what it was for. It is an old oil bill for furnace oil. It appears I paid most of the bill and failled to record it. Paying this is no problem. I forgot that it was paid and this is all that is left. Boy my memory is bad! Anyway I can now get oil in and not have to worry. Because we use wood, we order the oil as is needed. At least someone knew it was paid! Now to figure out how we are going to get the wood in out of the bush. Anyone have a tractor we could use???? LOL
Jenny, yes I was up late last night. My daughter had info for me and that kept me sleepless. I am paying for it today.
Well I am ahead of supper tonight. I made a pot of soup, and just have to thicken it a bit. That saves work tonight. I have also jarred about 10 jars of rellish. I need to pick up 2 bushels of plum tomotoes to freeze and can. That will set my pantry up for the winter.
Well time to start marking the girls work. Got to go.
Love Judy
Hello everyone. Just wanted to jump in and say a quick "HI" I am at work, so it has to be short.
Have a wonderful day, and hopefully, I will be back later
kamrat
Oh, how great to see so many new comers--
Welcome, welcome, this is the "bestest" group on internet!!
May I take a few minutes to share something.??
Nita and Jane are here posting together and I want
tell you all how happy that makes me.
On another forum; I have watched and listen to Janie and what a dear she is.--always traveling and so full of love for her fellow man; even in her trials and difficulties her love for others and her need to help others shown through.
I was posting to Nita at that time because Nita has a wonderful love for the LOrd and she saw the passion that I had yearning to know the Lord. Her words have helped me so much.
At that time Janie was thinking of moving and her move brought her close to Nita.
Well, that is where I see the good LORD has decided that these two should be and together their love for our Heavenly Father started coming through so very clear in their postings.
I have seen how Janie's love has grown so much to the point of joining the ministry and that was to our advantage.
Her kindness in spreading HIS love for us is truly a delight and now, Praise the Lord, her sharing her
wonderful friend Bev's words with us.
Know that you have touched this "Jersey" girl so very much.
Someone else posted on this site last week that they went to see Joyce Meyer's message and I, too.
have seen her on TV.
I, also , like when our church have female speakers--they seem to really "hit Home" in their message.
My prayers are for Janie to continue to proceed with the good LORD's guidance in her life;--I just know we will be the better for it.
My prayers are for NIta to continue to reach out and join us with her loving, passionate postings of the love for the LORD.
Yes, Nita, I know what the rain does to you; the same way that the snow does for me.
Ah , yes, HE is an awesome GOD.
Love in CHrist,
Joyce
I am making a lot of mistakes today is that every days
so.
I have writen about a girl for 13 years but is from or
about a girl 13 years old she have 2 children from
er stepfather.
IS THAT NOT TERRIBLE
RIA
Thanks for the song "On the Roof", Chris! HAHAHA!
Too bad you don't travel this far!
Ria, that IS terrible! :o
An Awesome God indeed!
Every day, blessings from His Hand,
I pray the Lord will open my eyes to see that even seeming setbacks are just a hidden blessing, and that if I thank Him and praise Him for them,He will open it up and show it to me as He sees it.
Many a time we just see as the world sees, because that's the way we were conditioned before our salvation, and we fall so readily into the trap of our old life attitudes, and outlooks.
But we are renewed, with new sight, and new Family, a new relationship with Him,I guess we should ask to have the blinders taken off more often, instead of just going along with the same old moans and groans and complaints.
But instead, we must look up at the first sign of trouble, or seeming trouble, and ask "Lord what do You want me to do here."
May His blessings be upon all here this day, as we give thanks for all things.
Love to all, Chris and Margit.

Hello to all and I have been on-line for a little while last night..but was too sleepy to post.
I think the devotional is just for me. I do have to watch my tongue so many times. Thanks for the reminder, Pat
Ria, your message was so terribly sad. I don't see how anyone can abuse a child, sexually or physically or emotionally. It looks like someone should have found out when she got pregnant the first time. She is soo very young.
I was tickled pink to see that Nita is back with us. :) :) ;)
I pray that Papa John's pain will go away. Also, for Ria and her back pain. I'm glad Ria is following doctor's orders and will find out more about her osteoporosis in Oct.
I liked the song that Chris & Margit put up for us to hear.
Well, back to work. Everybody have a blessed day.
Thank you dear Kathy
But now i am going to my bed. In Holland it 11.45 PM
and tomorrow at 6.30AM we must wake up.
I wish you all a very good night God is with you also
in the night.
Bye for today till tomorrow RIA :-*
Ria, I did understand about the girl being only 13 years old, in your first posting. I apologize for my oversight in not responding to your post. That IS a terrible thing, and so sad because it is not an isolated incident. There are many evil people in this world. But-----WE WIN!! (I read the end of the Book!) ;D
We got many hundreds of feet of wire pulled at the school; two down, two to go! Then Darrel will have a fairly easy job to finish up the alarm system additions. He needs help when pulling wire around so many corners! And I am glad I am able to help him with it.
I can't believe it is already 4:00! My, this day has gone quickly!
Oh, yes! I wanted to tell you I got a phone call from a very excited little girl last night! Abby was calling to tell me she had lost her first tooth! She said "Be sure to tell Grampa, and Beth, and Jeanie, and Great Grandma, and.........." ;D ;D She is such fun.
Chris, thank you for being such an encourager! God bless you and Margit!
Here's a beautiful Psalm to sing. Isn't it wonderful to know that the Lord really is our Shepherd?

Psalm 23
The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want;
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green; he leadeth me
The quiet waters by.
My soul he doth restore again,
And me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness,
E'en for his own name's sake.
Yea, though I walk in death's dark vale,
Yet will I fear no ill:
For thou art with me, and thy rod
And staff me comfort still.
My table thou hast furnished
In prsence of my foes;
My head thou dost with oil anoint
And my cup overflows.
Goodness and mercy all my life
Shall surely follow me;
And in God's house for evermore
My dwelling-place shall be. [/size]

Good Evening Everyone
Pat, thank you for your devotional this morning. I don't often turn on my computer before heading to work. I did this morning and was thankful that I had as the message to guard my tongue stayed with me all day. :)
Ria, how awful that something so tragic could happen to a 13 yr old girl. I do hope that your back starts to feel better in time. I have back troubles also and can understand your pain. It can be crippling when in its worst.
Chris & Margit, thank you for the Wings of a Dove.
Pat, the music to the 23rd Psalm was a calming end to my day, and start to my evening. When the Psalms are put to music they are beautiful!
A friend of mine emailed the following link that I thought everyone might enjoy also.

Meika, I have also just received your email. Many thanks for the hug!
Sue
It's so nice to see your post, Sue and I'm so happy that the devotional was a blessing to you before heading off to work. Thanks for the link as well.
HI folks!!!!!!
It has been awhile.
We have been so busy this summer with the kids, vacation, pictures and little trips here and there to see family and friends.
We are now back to the old routine of school. It has been tough getting started but we have managed and we are finally getting into a good schedule.
I will try to stop by more often now that i seem to be on here more in the morning.
Pat thank you for the wonderful devotion!
Talk to you all later.

It's great to see you here. You have no idea how happy I was to see your name pop up.
I hope you enjoyed your summer and hopefully you took lots of photos that you'll be sharing with all of us.
Sonja ~ So glad to see your pretty face on a post!!! How is the kitchen coming? Almost done? Done? Again, I was so happy to get to meet you and your family. Today, I was getting out my insurance cards from my billfold and out came the picture you gave me of the kids. How is that for co-incidence? Picture and then your post!
Karma ~ I knew Travis could do it. He wasn't going to continue the rest of his life just saying.,.....Dada and Mama!!!! ::)
Ria ~ That is terrible for that 13 year old. Sad to say, but that happens here also.
Today was a long day....Trash day. Jerry got up early, too. Took him for a blood test. Ate breakfast out. Got him two loaves of bread. Filled the car up with gas. Reset odometer. Got his mail. Took him home. Went to the dentist for a check up. Needed a root canal. They called Indy. Cancelled appointment so an opening. Can she be here within the hour? Yes! Drove to Indy. Got a root canal. Drove home. Drove to the bank. 74.6 miles on trip odometer. Message machine message from KDon wanting me to go to lunch with them for my birthday. Walked over to talk to him. His Honda Gold Wing on the blink. Won't start. Doesn't know the problem. Then stopped at Ivalou's. Talked to her. Numbness out by then. Dr. said soft food tonight so had dinner of a bowl of ice cream....Hey, dairy and protein...(nuts)....and veggie...(cocoa beans...beans are veggies) Now it is getting caught up on here so I can watch a little TV and unwind for bed! Busy day!!!

I know Pat just posted The 23rd Psalm with some beautiful music....but I am sure you can stand another version of
The 23rd Psalm (http://www.interviewwithgod.com/psalm23.htm)
What a day you've had, Etta Sue! My goodness!
Thanks so much for the Psalm 23! I've just enjoyed it so very much!
Thanks!
Pretty soon I will be leaving for Bible study. But I wanted to stp in here and check the prayer folder before I leave. Well I am posting here too. My goodness Etta Sue thats a lot to do in one day.
Sonja so good to see you in here again. I hope you have a lot of photos to show us of your summer travels. How is Zachery doing? I have been reading many things about Chrons lately I've noticed that it is also called the "wasting disease"
Hi Pat!!!!!
Hi Marilyn!
Praying for you girl! (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmilies.sofrayt.com%2F%255E%2Ff%2Fhump.gif&hash=7626331b2ac5f4cb4efa8d0faff8864006ab5b61)
Thanks Pat I take it you got my email the day you compressed the photo for me. Can't wait to get my new camera, the reviews are saying that the Kodak DX 4300 is a great camera. I am always seeing things that would be great photos, so when it does get here I will have to make sure I carry it with me all the time.
Thank you Etta Sue for that lovely presentation of the 23rd Psalm. Beautiful pictures of God's creation. How wonderful to know He is our Shepherd who care for His sheep.
Hello John, welcome to CP. You will enjoy posting here and if you have any questions, they will surely be answered.
Ruthie
Yes, I've heard it's a good camera, Marilyn. I can hardly wait till you get it as well.
I'd love to upgrade my camera to the Nikon 5700 but finances this year are almost ziltch so I'll continue to use my taped up camera. I have black electrical tape holding it together! LOL
Yes, I got your email, Marilyn and I continue to pray! ;)

Got any more photos to share? We'd love to see them.
;D Hi ms Pat,
I do have some and I like to share them, but I do not have a webpost any more and my pbase is gone too :-[
It is a bother to me to not have a way to show them as I like to. :-\ I need to change them some times and fix them and I can not do it now. :(
I will be gone again in some weeks and I do not wish to pay for a place to have a pictures if I am not here to use it, so I only watch and read this wonderful story of life each day. I love the CP ms Pat. and I love all my friends here.
And we sure love you, too, Ms. Mieka! :D :) ;D
and I can surely echo that, Janet! MIEKA you are well loved. Just know that, okay? :-*
Sonja, it is sooo good to see your smiling face and "hear" how you and your family are doing.
Sue, it is good to see you also ... as they say in some parts of the country "don't be a stranger, now, y'hear?" ;)
Mieka, you know I'll post them for you. Please send them to me.
Love you so much

Thanks for the devotional Pat. Something we all need to remember.
What wonderful links. I have tried them all and the music and pictures are so great!
We are finally getting lots of rain here on the island. Most everyone is very grateful. It will certainly make the forest a safer place. Much more is needed on the mainland and the people trying to collect fire insurance are having a terrible time. It is so sad that the gov. is more concerned about rebuilding historical bridges, than in the people in need of help. Our world has become a cold place...
Tomorrow is such a sad day for our American friends and most everyone in the Christian world will be praying for the families and friends of people lost....
My prayer is that God will touch and comfort them.
God Bless, Liz.
Our last 3 weeks of Bible study has been on worship and will continue on sunday night. Itis not HOW we worship but WHO we worship. Worship is an interactive relationship with God. It is Love responding to Love. So many times we worship something other than God, it could be just the music or the worship leader who is doing the singing the sound of the choir, the method of worship etc. I am learning a lot in this class.
I love that song Pat.
Mieka are you leaving on another trip soon? Are you going back to China? I love you so much little one. I send my love to you through cyberspace to Malibu California or where ever you are going.
Time to lock the door on September 10 and open a new one on September 11...a sad day in history.
