Morning Devotional...But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.Philippians 3:13-14
Runners are taught to not look back at the opposition in a race, but to keep their eyes focused on the finish line.
If the confessed sins of your past are distracting you from the Lord today, don't look back!
Keep your eyes focused on Calvary.
Keep pressing towards the finish line.
There is a prize waiting for you.
--Jeff BrownLabor on; though your hands are weak;
Your knees are faint and your soul cast down;
Yet falter not; the prize you seek
Is near--a kingdom and a crown!
I guess I get to be the first to say "GOOD MORNING!"
I stayed up very late (early!) to watch the Tonight Show with the Christian musicians. Not only was it late to begin wtih, but because of the President's speech, it was even later than usual.  :P I'm tired, but I'm not terribly sleepy.  Michael W. Smith at the convention, then Bush's speech and to end the evening a great new song.  We really need to pray for this upcoming election.Â
The hurricane sure looks to be a menacing one. I am praying for all those in that area. My 75yr. old mother-in-law, who lives with us (she has a 3-room section of the house), works still for the Red Cross as staff.  She is also still a volunteer. Since my father-in-law passed away in 2001, she has made herself available again to locate to disaster areas and is trained in offering assistance through the Red Cross. I don't know if they will call her down there or not.  The last time she was able to go out before my father-in-law became more ill was for hurricanes Hugo and Andrew.
I hope everyone has a blessed day!
Thought this might be interesting for those with their eye on the movies:

Bless you all
Hi - we are back safely from Germany. Â Back to Brussels, I mean and now to pack and leave for home by Sunday. Â I missed the president's speech as hours are about 8 hours difference. Â Did you know he spoke German? Â LOL - Well, the television in Germany did not have any station in English, even NBC - so everyone spoke German. Â Very difficult - I thought the hostage situation was a mock drill for a full day because they had the word mocke on it. Â
I will check in here for news from everyone. Â Pat Scott - hello to you. Â Yes, it must be so difficult for the children to go through such trauma in Russia. Â
The Lord will lead. Â Carol
P.S. Â Jenny: Â Hello to you. It is always nice to read your posts. Â
Hello folks.
I have lost 2 posts this morning due again to AOL.I am losing patience with them. They keep doing updates and cutting me off. The last one has messed my computer up. (Marilyn I have got rid of the AOL 8, so it's not that)
I will try again.,
The sun is shining here. Truly 'a day that the Lord has made'...Let us rejoice...
Carol. Hello sister. It is a joy to see you here again. Thanks for the nice greeting. Love to you and your dear hubby and family :-*
Pat. Thank-you for the nice hymn "Sweet Hour of Prayer". The writer went to Coleshill Church. Very very near here. My father lives in the next village and his doctor is there. My sister's parents in law are buried there. The High Street has some very Oldie Worldie buildings (Elizabethan)and an old coaching inn.It is one of the areas where you will find those American visitors, hungry for the "Old world".Meriden, is nearby and my sister lives there. On the Green at Meriden is an old cross marking the Centre of England.
Our Newshounds were interviewing a Russian Politician re the impasse at the School. A paediatrician who has been acting as go-between has said that the children can manage on very little food for 7-8 days!!! The Russians are calling on the U.K. and America to help...Really!!! There is only one answer to this, a miracle wrought by Prayer. Maranatha[/color]!
My thoughts and prayers go out to all those in the eye of the hurricane.
God Bless you all.
Jenny.
Mamapo and Gareth.
Hello to you both. I couldnt trust AOL and posted up quickly. I haven't forgotten you both. ;) God Bless.
good morning,
don't have much time but thought i'd drop in really quick... got to go though or i'll be late for school
TTYL
Sarah
Good Morning Everyone!
I've been lying in bed for what seems like hours watching the Russian School and those sweet children. Â So many on stretchers. Â It's so sad. Â Apparently the roof has been blown off at one point. Â And the counts are that hundreds of hostages have been wounded. But the Russian army is in control going from room to room now.
And the hurricaine, even though it's been downgraded to a Category 3 from 4, it's still massive and oh, so dangerous. Â My thoughts go out to John and Julia and to any of our other members living there. Â Let's continue to pray for these two items.
Please continue as well to pray for our other items of Pray that can be found in our Prayer Area such as our dear Beth and for all of the other items.
Great to see you here, Gareth. Â Â
Carol, are you going to be sad to leave? Â Or will you be happy to get home to your own bed?
How interesting, Jenny, to read about this village being so close to where you live where this wonderful hymn originated. Â I really enjoyed reading that. Â
Mamapo, I can't believe your mother-in-law! Â What a wonderful job she's doing at her age. Â May the Lord bless her as she does this work. Â I also watched the music last night and yes, it was very late but I lay in bed watching it. ;)
Sarah, have a great day at school.
Well, I have errands to run. Â I'm so far behind in things being ill for most of 2 1/2 weeks now but today I feel so much better.
I appreciate hearing of all those who have been praying for me.
Just a quick HELLO and God bless you all...
nard
Good morning - I'm also late - slept very late this morning.
Marilyn and Jane - so sorry about the cramps. I usually find that a boost in potassium intake helps my leg cramps. Most of my life I've had a potassium deficiency, so have dealt with the pain a good bit. Hope this helps.
I love it that so many wonderful folk are here with us.
Safe travels, Carol.
My goodness, the hostage situation is really terrible.
Gotta go - love each of you.
Ruth Ann
Nice new pic, Nards! Looks like a partner for Dexter!
Ruth Ann, I get cramps too so bad but most of the time at night. I have quinine capsules to take before i go to bed to ward them off and they sure work.
So sad in Russia. Those poor parents waiting outside all this time and now finding that their loved ones are dead in the school but they can't get their bodies yet. There is still fighting going from room to room. They haven't finished the fighting. One newsman who was allowed in but was told "NO PHOTOS" said that he saw at least 100 bodies in the school.
Russian thing is terrible :(
Anybody know why Ads by Goooooooooooogle has 12 "o's" in it? :)
Good Morning to all: Pat you take care of  yourself now that you are better, take you vitamins faithfully. Winter is coming and we don't want you to be sick.
Hey Anthony Where are you? How is your mother? Did you have a nice Bank holiday on Monday?
Hi Jenny I have AOL 9.0 optimized SE. I don't have the same problems you do.  I was the cause of my problems. Awhile back when I called AOL about something else, they told me  to uninstall and reinstall and sent me the CD incase I had a problem. I had 3 CD's and chose the wrong one to install without uninstalling first thus ending up with 3 yes, 3 AOL's in my computer. All was due to my impatience. I have signed up with them for a year's contract with 4 months free and then only $17.95 a month.
RuthAnn at my last Blood test in May it showed that my potassium is right on where it is supposed to be. I don't have another blood test until November. I have heard about the quinine Pat, I don't know if I can get it here, I will have to check that out and the pharmacy.
Carol are you bringing lots of photos back to us? I know you will be glad to be home again.
Well things to do  will come back later.

I have some errands and stuff to do today, so I reckon I'll get going. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Sometimes I am so glad that I have Ultimate TV and I can watch fun, uplifting shows when I want and not have to watch CNN or the news. I would be so depressed if I had to watch that stuff all the time. I know they need our prayers but I sure don't want a steady diet of negative thoughts. Just me. I guess I need to say, I do appreciate all of you letting me know what is going on in the world so I can take it to my Lord in prayer. So thank you all.
I must thank God that I don't have any cramps anywhere. Thank you God. I am fat and overweight....I guess I could lose weight if I really wanted to lose weight.  ::) I have bladder cancer that is 100% controllable. :D  And I have some problems with my blood tests that the doctor is trying to get under control.  :-\ I take Calcium with Vitamin D....the only supplement that I take. :o  And I feel pretty darn good!!!! ;D  I just get too hot.  :-[ Probably if I lost many pounds, that would help all my problems physically.  ??? Just need to get motivated.  ::)
Rain woke me this morning at 6 a.m. and then the girls refused to let me go back to a sound sleep so I got up. They like to sleep all day and then in the early hours is when they like to run, jump and fight ON MY BED!!!! It could get dangerous! They are both getting soooooo big.Â
BTW, I still have the same apple and no groundhog in the trap. So maybe there was just one groundhog afterall. Maybe another varmint moved the stick!!!!<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))

Nope!
I just got a WebProWorld update...
It's apparently some kind of "branding" experiment by Google. Public knowledge at this point doesn't include the purpose of the experiment, but Google admits they are doing an experiment.Â
So now we know. What do we know? We know that we don't know. That's all that we know.Â
I have had another email from Ria, and have put in an update in the Prayer and Praise section.
Also our cousin Albert is in poor health again. Â The stomach cancer may have returned. Â This is John(bonesy's) and Ria's cousin.
This I do know.
Our God is bigger than the Hurricane.
Our God is bigger than the situation in Russia
Our God is bigger than Ria's problems.
Our God is bigger than my problems and He is bigger than yours.
Praise God.
I had a friend say to me recently when he was asked why God wasn't answering their prayer, that a mom with children be healled. Â The friend said that it was perhaps because God was answering the prayer of the Mom that her family come to know the Lord. Â He was answering the mom's prayer, as many family members came to a knowledge of the Lord when she died, and she was out of pain in Glory. Â
So even if our prayer doesn't seem to be answered, It is, we may just not see it. and it will be in a way that will Glorify God.
Hi everyone. Getting here a bit earlier than yesterday as this has been a much less stressful day. The airconditioning man was here early and found that the heat pump had frozen up because our daughter was keeping the temperature set too low. He has just returned and everything is fine now. The equipment is fine.
Pat, what a great devotional this morning. We need to keep our eyes on the cross.
mamapo, I certainly admire your MIL and all the folks who volunteer their assistance in times of need. With the hurricane upon Florida again it sounds like more workers will be needed.
Gareth, that was an interesting article.
Carol, glad you are safely back from Germany. Sure you are looking forward to getting home but probably not looking forward to the long plane ride.
Jenny, I have not been an AOL for a long time. I used it for a little while on my laptop and found that constant takeover of my computer for downloads was just unacceptable and in installing an update it messed up my computer so bad I had to use the restore disk and start again.
Sarah, hope you weren't late to school.
Pat, sure glad to read you are feeling much better. Hope you don't try to do too much in getting your errands done today.
Hi Nards and Karma.
Ruth Ann, glad you were able to sleep a little later this morning. I am sure you needed the rest.
This situation in Russia is just unbelievable. I am so glad it is getting under control but the outcome sounds really terrible with all the deaths.
Hi Marilyn. It sounds like you need a day off once-in-a-while. Sorry to read of your fall and hope you are not too sore from it. It has been a long time since I last fell but remember I was sore for a long time from it.
Etta Sue, hope the groundhogs under your porch are a thing of the past.
Hi Sonja. See you did make it through the day with your little one attending school.
Judy, thanks for keeping us updated on Ria.
Pat is waiting for me to finish this so we can go to the "Y", the library and then I have something to return at the computer store. So we will be gone most of the afternoon.
Been here reading, Larry and Jenny I do not have a problem with AOL downloading updates. What I do have trouble with is that there is only 2 connetion phone numbers in my area and when they are busy I just have to wait. At certain times of the day like around 5 pm and 9 am it is really a pain. I have found that if I just restart my computer It goes away. That can get old too.
Etta Sue did you read in yesterday's thread about my Happy dog "guarding" an opossum. He is such a character.
Nards and Karma, Boomer is certaily and intelligent looking little guy. Betcha he will be a wonderful companion for Tas.
Hey Soni Hello!!!TTYL
Karmat - your husband has become a real dog. I think he changed his name to Boomer or something. You can look at him on here before he gets home.
Karmat's husband has always been a real dog. He's just got a pretty wife to draw the attention away from himself.
LOL!
Hey guys. I found the neatest site and funny too.

God is love.
1 John 4:16
Words: John Bowring, Hymns, 1825
Music: Sussex, English melody; adapted by Ralph Vaughan Williams, 1906
God is love; His mercy brightens
All the path in which we rove;
Bliss He wakes, and woe He lightens:
God is wisdom, God is love.
Chance and change are busy ever;
Man decays and ages move;
But His mercy waneth never:
God is wisdom, God is love.
E?en the hour that darkest seemeth
Will His changeless goodness prove;
From the mist His brightness streameth:
God is wisdom, God is love.
He with earthly cares entwineth
Hope and comfort from above;
Everywhere His glory shineth:
God is wisdom, God is love.

::) ::) I feel as if I am being pulled apart at the seams today! Â My sister called first thing this morning and asked me to come by after swimming. Â She is feeling really bad, and had fallen last night and wasn't able to get up. Â It took three people to get her up again.........and she had wet her bed and couldn't change the sheets, etc. Â So I got her taken care of, then took Beth to visit Mom, which means loading/unloading the wheelchair, which is all I can do. Â Then Mom said she needed gum, thinks she just can't do without her chewing gum! Â So that meant a trip across town to buy that, then to the restaurant with Beth, load/unload; then to the Vet's for Beth, and to the car dealer's; then to the drug store. Â Then I brought Beth home, unloaded the chair one last time, up the ramp, then rushed back to town to stand in the scorching sun for an hour and a half, waiting for the commodities. But at least I got them this time! ;)
By the time I got home, I was hot, tired, cranky and hurting! Â So I need a little rest now. :-\
But this weekend, I get a break! Â We are going to a K-State football game with the kids and grandkids. Â Jeff is all excited about doing a "tailgate party" and it should be fun. Â Curtis is supposed to be finiding a "sister-sitter" because we don't have a ticket to the game for Abby.
Sorry to dump on all of you, and I promise to feel better next time I post, or to not let you know, if I don't! ;)
Janet your day sounds very hectic, just like every day for me when I am working both jobs, sometimes I unload and load the whell chair a 1/2 dozen times before we are through with Gloria's errands. So I do know how tired you are, by the time I get to Fay's house at 12:30 I am ready to sit down and rest. Thank God that Fay is so easy to work for I spend a lot of time sitting. Then it's home to do any work that I have to do around my house, my own errands, appointments, etc. Very longs days.
I have made apricot-pineapple jam today. Not hard I already had it canned and just had to cook it down. It was canned for me last year.
Did ya guy's see my fog bank?
TTYL
Soni, funny site. I've sent that URL on to a few! I used to have a timer just like the first one on the list. And it's so true. We had to wind it past 15 minutes to have it work. LOL
Janet, what a tiring day. My goodness!
Marilyn, off to see your photos.
Wow! Â I have finally finished reading all the posts for the past three days. Â My flu became very bad on the evening of the 31st and ill ever since. Â Now up again and starting to feel human....
Watched the Republican Convention last night and very impressed with Pres. Bush. Â Mentioned to my daughter that if all the Christians in the world united in prayer, his chance for re-election would greatly improve. Â Had an e-mail from an American friend who is a strong Democrate and totally opposed to him and can't understand why anyone would vote for his return. Â It makes me wonder if Bible Prophecy will allow for Christians to be in power much longer. Â So much is happening to indicate our world is being taken over by evil at a rapid rate....Just a thought.
Larry, I took Windows XP S.P.2 off the computer today as it is causing problems. Â Sent for the disk and will try again later. Â Would be interested in how others make out with this....
When I was so ill, Squeek came and stayed with me. Â She has never done that before. Â Always went upstairs to spend the night. Â Funny how they become so protective when one is ill. Â Also, kind of comforting.
Marilyn, I hope your bruises have healed. Â Liked your picture.
Enjoy reading all the posts and it is a big help to my life. Â I do pray for many of you. Â
Pleasant day and God Bless.
Liz
Liz, I'm so sorry about your flu. Mine hit me on Saturday night at about 10 pm and I hardly remember Sunday and Monday and Tuesday was all a fog as well. Boy, it sure leaves you weak and cranky!
Glad to see you posting.
With the hurricaine pounding the Bahamas and Florida, this might be a good hymn to sing.

(Click to hear music)
Author: Hugh Stowell, 1799-1865
Musician: Thomas Hastings, 1784-1872
And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with
thee from above the mercy seat, from between
the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony,
of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
Exodus 25:22
From every stormy wind that blows,
From every swelling tide of woes,
There is a calm, a sure retreat;
'Tis found beneath the mercy seat.
There is a place where Jesus sheds
The oil of gladness on our heads;
A place than all besides more sweet;
It is the blood bought mercy seat.
There is a scene where spirits blend,
Where friend holds fellowship with friend;
Though sundered far, by faith they meet
Around one common mercy seat.
There, there, on eagles' wings we soar,
And time and sense seem all no more;
And heaven comes down, our souls to greet,
And glory crowns the mercy seat.
Oh, let my hand forget her skill,
My tongue be silent, cold, and still,
This bounding heart forget to beat,
If I forget the mercy seat!

   Another wonderful devotional.
   For me this has been a very tired and lazy day although this afternoon I took my Aunt for groceries, followed with a snack at our favorite fast food restaurant.
I trust that tomorrow will be a better day.
Bless you all
