If we put off repentance another day,
we have a day more to repent of,
and a day less to repent in.

Morning Devotional...
Jesus and the Kingdom of God
Luke 13:1-21 NLT
1About this time Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered some people from Galilee as they were sacrificing at the Temple in Jerusalem. 2"Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than other people from Galilee?" he asked. "Is that why they suffered? 3Not at all! And you will also perish unless you turn from your evil ways and turn to God. 4And what about the eighteen men who died when the Tower of Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem? 5No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will also perish."
6Then Jesus used this illustration: "A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed. 7Finally, he said to his gardener, `I've waited three years, and there hasn't been a single fig! Cut it down. It's taking up space we can use for something else.'
8"The gardener answered, `Give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I'll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. 9If we get figs next year, fine. If not, you can cut it down.' "
10One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, 11he saw a woman who had been crippled by an evil spirit. She had been bent double for eighteen years and was unable to stand up straight. 12When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, "Woman, you are healed of your sickness!" 13Then he touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised and thanked God!
14But the leader in charge of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath day. "There are six days of the week for working," he said to the crowd. "Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath."
15But the Lord replied, "You hypocrite! You work on the Sabbath day! Don't you untie your ox or your donkey from their stalls on the Sabbath and lead them out for water? 16Wasn't it necessary for me, even on the Sabbath day, to free this dear woman from the bondage in which Satan has held her for eighteen years?" 17This shamed his enemies. And all the people rejoiced at the wonderful things he did.
18Then Jesus said, "What is the Kingdom of God like? How can I illustrate it? 19It is like a tiny mustard seed planted in a garden; it grows and becomes a tree, and the birds come and find shelter among its branches."
20He also asked, "What else is the Kingdom of God like? 21It is like yeast used by a woman making bread. Even though she used a large amount of flour, the yeast permeated every part of the dough."

In the Old Testament a fruitful tree was often used as a symbol of godly living (see Ps. 1:3). Jesus pointed out what would happen to the other kind of tree--the kind that took valuable time and space and still produced nothing for the patient gardener. This was one way Jesus warned his listeners that God would not tolerate forever their lack of productivity.
Have you been enjoying God's special treatment without giving anything in return? If so, respond to the Gardener's patient care, and begin to bear the fruit God has created you to produce.

Just a couple of quick things and then I must get to bed.
Marilyn, I have returned an excel file to you.
Janet, if you still have the document that was printing in all caps, click on "Format", then select "Font" and part way down, see if "All Caps" is check-marked. If it is, then un-check it. If that isn't it, then I am not sure what the problem could have been.
Now I'm going to be like Etta Sue and head to bed!
Good morning everyone!
Etta Sue, that was a wonderful devotional this morning, thanks !
Hope everyone has a great day !
Well, today I have to go for a chekup at the Drs. I could just tell him that I'm in great shape for the shape I'm in. But he's insistent on doing more. Oh well. For the first time in a couple of weeks I actually saw one star in the middle of the night when I had to get up for a couple of minutes. And the fog doesn't look too thick this morning either. Probably one of Kevin's typhoons coming.
Hi everyone. We are having some cooler weather this week. I heard the forecast this morning and it is suppose to be in the low 80s all week.
Etta Sue, thanks for the devotional.
Janet, if it is the Word file that you created on your China trip that you are asking about saving, while it may seem to be long, it really isn't a very large file in terms of file storage. However, it would be a good idea to put all your photos from your trip and the Word document on a CD to have a backup copy of everything. You don't necessarily need to remove them from your computer. Most of us now have computers with large capacity storage. Sue, I think you are probably on the right track in terms of looking at the formatting. Go to the Format menu and click on the "Reveal Formatting" and should be able to see if the caps command is turned on somewhere in the document. Word uses a lot of hidden commands that don't appear in the document but are in the background dictating how the document appears.
Today I will start going back to play the piano and sing with the folks at our Calvin Cove adult day-care center. I had taken the month of August off. I have been doing this for several years and it is becoming a bit wearisome but will continue for awhile yet as think the folks always enjoy it.
Marilyn, it is a shame when a grown child will accept no responsibility with regard to an aging parent that needs help. Unfortunately that isn't too uncommon. It is nice of you to help the lady at your church. You obviously are a very caring and giving person.
Till next time.
Thanks so much, Sue. This is very strange. I went to see if all caps was checked, it is not, and today the type is back to normal. Gremlins!! :clobber:
Al, I hope you get a good report from the doctor.
Etta Sue, hope you are all rested today!
Thank you, too, Larry. You posted as I was typing. I am relieved that the word document does't take too much space, but think I will also save it to a CD, as I have put a lot of thought, time and work into doing it, especially considering the problems I had. I really appreciate those of you who are willing to help us who aren't as knowledgable with computers.
No news from my corner of the world today.
Thank you Etta Sue for the Devotional today.
Thanks Sue Looks great to me, I have printed out your instructions as well as saved them in 2 different places. I don't need the formulas I fill that in each Sunday during class.
It is a goo thing I have the NIV on CD as i will be using it a lot in the typing I am doing for the Women's Bible Study. This is going to be good.
I am off work today so my neighbor and I are going to Costco to get a few things. This is my monthly trip for dog food etc.
Have a great day
TTYL
Hello everyone.
I'm quickly popping in while eating my lunch at work.
Larry, I didn't know that you could turn on formatting that way. Thank you for the information. There is much I do know about Excel and Word but I am equally sure that there is much I do not know.
Marilyn, I'm glad to have helped. An insurmountable task to you was really not a problem to me.
Janet, don't beat yourself up about your lack of knowledge with computers. I have said to my mother many times, and I am sure that it applies you and everyone here...."You know more than you give yourself credit for". Keep asking for help and each time a little bit more will be retained in memory.
Now, I must get back to work. There is much to be accomplished today.
Good Morning,
Thank you Etta Sue, for the good word today. Thanks to all who are praying for our son Casey, in college in the San Diego area. He is encouraged to know you are praying. Midori and I are grateful, too.
Jazz and I need to take our morning walk before it rains.
From Colossians 1...
We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God's original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment.
In His Grip,
Kevin
Too bad you can't see me now. I look beautiful. ;) My friend Pat colored and cut my hair this afternoon. What a wonderful friend she is!
Another thing I don't know how to do, and am embarrassed to ask, is how to change my photo on here. This one is really outdated; I look much younger now.
I'd better go before I really tell a tall tale!!
Aw c'mon, Janet, that one was tall enough!

Hi folks...
I'm pretty well over the flu and I've had three days with my cousin from California and now in a little while they are leaving for the north. Last night when I went to change the NEM, my internet decided to go down so here I am about 12 hours late!
Have a great day!
Let's get posting. I'll be putting up some new photos later.
