Morning Devotional...
What We Reap Depends On What We Sow
Verse
The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary indoing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we Galatians 6:8-9We may sow to the flesh if we will. There will be no interference from above. Thus to sow is our privilege--if we want to reap the harvest of corruption which must inevitably follow, a harvest no man in his right mind could deliberately choose. No, the snare lies in choosing the pleasures of sowing with the secret hope that in some way we can escape the sorrows of the reaping; but never since the beginning of the world has it been possible to separate the one from the other. The way to deal with a law of God is to work along with it. By faith and obedience we can put every divine law to work for us. And the law of sowing and reaping may be brought to our service and made to toil for our everlasting good. So kind is God and so thoughtful of His creatures. "He that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." There it is, and we have but to submit to it to gain from it an everlasting reward. Deeds done in the Spirit, in obedience to Christ and with the purpose of bringing honor to the Triune God, are seeds of endless blessedness. The first gift of life is not by works, but by faith in the work of a sufficient Redeemer; but after the miracle of the new birth has been accomplished, the Christian to a large extent carrries his future in his hands. If he denies himself and takes up his cross in meek obedience, his deeds will become seeds of life and everlasting glory. He may forget his deeds of love or think them small and useless, but God is not unmindful. He never forgets. The sweet harvest of a life well lived will be there to meet the sower after the toil is ended and the heat of the day is past.
Thought
The harvest (not our salvation!) depends on the seed we sow. We can only reap tomorrow what we sow today. What kind of seed are we sowing?
Prayer
You have shown me, Lord, that good seed is doing good to all people. It's not enough to hold the seed, contemplate it. Good seed has to be sown. May I sow much good seed. For Jesus' sake. From Devotions By Dr. Tozer

I am ready for church. The Cinnamon Roll Cake looks delicious. I don't think I baked the first one long enough. This one looks just like a Cinnamon Roll...go figure!
I am taking a lot of yarn to church for those who want to make Chemo Wraps.
So I need to get off of here and load the car.
Bright and sunny but a cold 23 degrees!!MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Don, thanks for a great, thought provoking message this morning.
It's sunny and cold this morning, more like a "normal" February. ;)
Hi everyone. Have had an unhurried and pleasant Sunday morning. Pat made a nice breakfast and we will go to church in a little while. Later this afternoon I will go over and see if I can fix a computer problem for my friend who is suffering the return of the prostate cancer. He is having a tough time and his wife is really getting worn down. Twice we have had it set that I would come over and stay with him so his wife could get away for a little while, including this morning but he had to cancel as they just weren't feeling up to it. I am really concerned for my friend Bob and his wife Mary as they are in their 80s. I keep hoping and praying that each day he will begin to get better. Stacey did get her new bed yesterday morning and I talked with her yesterday afternoon and she had taken a 4 1/2 hour nap. She is tiring very easily now after the last heart attack.
Jeanne, I do enjoy the smartphone and get a lot of use from it.
Marilyn, I really use my smartphone but if I didn't I would agree with you. It certainly is not a necessity but sure don't want to give it up. I am anxiously awaiting the availability of the new iPad 3 as plan to get one. Sounds like you might be working too hard on your new web design. When I clicked on the link I got just a blue page. I closed it and tried again and briefly had displayed your entry page but it went back to the blue screen. Unless you clear your cache on your computer you may be loading from it and not the web when you check your work. I have experienced that problem on occasion. What I saw looked very nice but didn't get to the second page.
Al, so glad to see you are home. Do hope the Home Health can make things easier for you.
Etta Sue, I also use the web app for the Bible for the daily readings and can have it read to it from the phone if I want for the version I am using each day. Your cinnamon roll cake sounds like something I would like.
Janet, so sorry the weather didn't cooperate with you yesterday for the book signing. Sorry you are having to work today but your compassion in doing so certainly shows through.
Don, thanks for the devotional message for this week. It is a good one.
Larry I was still working on the site. It is up and running now without any problems. I had some typos I had to fix and and I put those to completed pages on a new Website. So it wouldn't add to the site I have my Web Set Lessons on.
http://mychallenges.x10.mx/ (http://mychallenges.x10.mx/)
Good afternoon everyone it has been a few days, I pray everyone is well. I have been a little busy and weather has been rather nice. I have been out taking some pictures. I saw my first me Bee of the season Friday. I actually caught some pictures of it flying. Pretty awesome for me. I posted two pictures on the macro/insect section.
I am so thankful to hear that everyone is doing ok some are coming home, some are completing projects, and some are just having fun. May the LORD bless you all everyday. Marlo
Judy I pray all is well with everything, please let me know.
Here we are almost at the end of another month it was not that long ago that we had been talking about Christmas.
It has been sunny & cool all day but no snow to get excited about.
Larry: I hope that Stacey enjoys her new bed.
Janet: I had read what you had said about Darrel's eye surgery. Before my aunt had here surgery I was taking her hand and telling her where the humps and bumps were as she walked along. Just last week I said to her now that you are able to see you will not need my help in seeing things. She replied with oh yes I still need help - every thing is clear in one eye but now my vision is lop sided. Her next surgery is set to happen May 2nd.
Al: I trust that your arrival home goes as planned.
Marlo: I am thinking of you.
Yes, Ruth, until the second eye has its cataract removed, things really are lop-sided! Darrel is seeing very clearly now in the distance, only needs glasses to read. Glad your aunt had good results on her first eye!
Larry, sorry Stacey is tiring easily, but good she has a comfortable bed to sleep in. 4 1/2 hours is a good block of time to sleep. Especially if she can be awake a few minutes, then do it again!
The weather is beautiful here today! I just walked 3 miles with only a sweatshirt-type jacket and wasn't cold. You can't tell the dirt was blowing so bad yesterday except for the evidence that blew into the garage, under the door! Bleaughhh!! I do not like wind! Breezes, yes, but not wind like that!
I need to be more diligent to write updates on my website, as I seem to have quite a few following it. Now I'm getting spam from places like weight loss and vitamin and beauty stuff, which I have to go in and trash. I don't want to advertise for them!
Work was difficult today. The 300 neighborhood has residents with a lot of problems, and they are mostly picky eaters. This necessitates a lot of extra trips to the main kitchen for me. But I made it through, and I didn't get out of sorts with anyone. I try to think about how my Mom and Beth were/are treated and to be kind to everyone. When I got home I took a nap, finished reading a book, then took a walk.
This week I have a book signing on Wednesday at the Senior Center in Hugoton, and I am praying it will go well. I need to sell at least one thousand books to recoup my initial investment! I did not write the book for money, but it takes money to get things done, and I want to be able to donate for NF Research.
Marlo, good to read you got out to take pictures. Hope things are going well for you, and with your health.
Etta Sue, Cinnamon Roll Cake sounds DELICIOUS!! Is the recipe in our recipe place here on CP?
I better go update my blog!
Janet I was wondering about Etta Sue's cake as well.
Larry Glad Stacey got some sleep, It's rough to be sleep deprived.
I am really tired tonight, so am heading to bed really soon. Have a good rest everyone!
Hi everyone. We had a beautiful day weather-wise yesterday. It turned out to be a very full day as after church the group decided to go to Longhorn's for lunch. We had to wait at least an hour to get seated (although did have a place to sit-down during the wait) and by the time we got home it was almost 3 pm. I laid down for an hour and then went over to see if I could help our friends with a computer problem. When I got there found the computer probably has a bad hard drive as it wouldn't boot up. I now have it in my car and will drop it off tomorrow where they purchased it as it is still under warranty and they do the repairs on site. Then last night I went to the Chili Show and Talent Supper that the choir has each year. I thought it was one of the best ones I can recall and really had a good time. Today is just the usual men's luncheon and today we will be at a Chinese Buffet and then I have a meeting to attend tonight.
Ruth, lop-sided vision must be terribly difficult to deal with. Your aunt will probably be more than ready for the next surgery.
Janet, I can't image you getting out of sort or being unkind to anyone.
Roller coaster weather again. Predictions are for near 40 this afternoon, near 30 tomorrow, sunny today and tomorrow then snow (from a dusting to 4 inches) Wednesday and in the low 30's, then rain and upper 30's on Thursday, and sunny and mid 30's on Friday.
I need to go to two different banks, 8 miles apart, town hall, the post office, the grocery store, the hardware store and drop off information at a friend's. No way I can hope to get all done today so some of it will have to wait for tomorrow and then I can stay inside and watch the snow or rain or whatever the rest of the week while I stay warm and dry. And play around on the computer.
Praise the Lord, I had a good night's sleep last night! That always makes the world look brighter. I was up early to spend time with the Lord, do some kitchen chores, watch a couple of Christian programs, then took the dog Blue for a four mile walk! Brrr! I didn't think it was so cold, but on the way back I was facing into the wind and got pretty cold. Blue was more than happy to snuggle up on Darrel's lap for a nice nap!
I am so glad today and tomorrow aren't covered up with stuff to do, although Mondays always have errands. Wednesday will be really busy--Dr. app't at 8 AM, friend's funeral at 9 AM, book signing in Hugoton at 11:30. Some days are just that way. :-\
One of my closest friends was life-watched to Wichita last evening. They said she was having severe pain in her back, shoulder and arm; sky-high blood pressure, heart distress and her kidneys are about to shut down. Prayers for Paula will be appreciated. Her husband called me last night, and I was surprised he wasn't already on the road to Wichita, but he said Paula told him to call Janet before he left! So I am in prayer for this lovely lady, and for every doctor, nurse, technician, etc. who is or will be involved in her care, that each will have the wisdom of almighty God in making every decision. Thanks.
The other friend, another Paula, passed away on Saturday night, and it is her service I want to attend on Wed. morning. She was a painting friend.
I need to get my stuff together and go get those errands done so I can work on organizing my studio this afternoon. My cell phone contract is up today and we need to decide what to do about that. For sure, there has to be a better plan than we were offered! Darrel heard about one called 65 Plus that is lots less expensive, will look into that.
I'm praying for wisdom on how to contact more people about my book. I know God has been in this from the very beginning, and I want His wisdom in how to proceed from here.
Have a blessed day, my friends.
It is coming down like a blizzard right now, a few minutes ago it was just overcast with a skiff of snow coming down. Jeanne roller coaster is right up here too!
Good reading Don Thank you.

Will Jesus Find Us Watching? (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/watching.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Words: Frances J. Crosby 1876
Music: William H. Doane
When Jesus comes to reward His servants,
Whether it be noon or night,
Faithful to Him will He find us watching,
With our lamps all trimmed and bright?
O can we say we are ready, brother?
Ready for the soul's bright home?
Say, will He find you and me still watching,
Waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?
If, at the dawn of the early morning,
He shall call us one by one,
When to the Lord we restore our talents,
Will He answer thee—"Well done"?
O can we say we are ready, brother?
Ready for the soul's bright home?
Say, will He find you and me still watching,
Waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?
Have we been true to the trust He left us?
Do we seek to do our best?
If in our hearts there is naught condemns us,
We shall have a glorious rest.
O can we say we are ready, brother?
Ready for the soul's bright home?
Say, will He find you and me still watching,
Waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?
Blessèd are those whom the Lord finds watching,
In His glory they shall share;
If He shall come at the dawn or midnight,
Will He find us watching there?
O can we say we are ready, brother?
Ready for the soul's bright home?
Say, will He find you and me still watching,
Waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?

I put the Cinnamon Roll Cake recipe in the Recipe area here (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=12170.msg171189#msg171189).
I really like it. No special ingredients. And it is delicious!
Ivalou left church yesterday after church. She didn't tell me. I thought maybe she was in the basement helping instead of Sunday School. Then when I got to the basement, she wasn't there. I thought maybe she went back home to get her covered dish. She didn't come back for the brunch. So when I got home, I called. She said she felt weak during church and felt like she was going to be sick so came home. She did that in Florida one day. Something isn't right. But today she seemed fine when I took over a few pieces of Cinnamon Roll Cake.
I have nothing to do all week except Wednesday Night Live Wednesday night!! Wow!
I did tell Ivalou that I wanted to go to the pool tomorrow morning and then eat breakfast somewhere and if she wants to go with me, she is welcome. And I told her if she needs to get in groceries and freezer items, we can do that any day this week! So now it is up to her!
I should be finished with another chemo wrap today. These simple patterns are fast!SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE

Don: Many thanks for your daily devotion on what we reap is brought on by what we actually sow. Things to ponder.
Al: Hooray - good to see you back home again.
Steeler: Hello and welcome back.
Sorry to read about Janice's husband, Earl. It looks like the children are not too far from her so that is a blessing.
We brought my cousin & husband to church and someone mentioned that we are bringing in quite a few visitors. Yes, we are not even members but all our company comes with us on Sunday mornings. Saturday was the big art fair as part of the entire weekend in the town and there was a lot of security. The sheriff here has had so many threats, even deadly threats, so he is surrounded especially when greeting the people. Lots of music and so much to see along with lovely weather so we had a great walk around the town.
I am also adding the Christian pastor who is in Iran & jailed for not renouncing his faith. There are thousands of Christians in jail in Iran. It doesn't seem possible in this day but it is happening.
Hi, friends,
I rested until about lunchtime, ate a soup n salad lunch, got haircut, went to bank, and checked on services for my car. Guess I'll have that done tomorrow afternoon.
Not much news, so will close for tonight.
Much love to everyone,
Ruth Ann
Praise report!!! Praise report!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! some may say that I am crazy well maybe I am but, for six years now I have had a solid headache that has gone into a migraine. So when someone usually says I have a migraine that is my headache. Well my new Neurologist gave me this new medicine that is being tried and for two days I have had only a slight headache. I thought I was loosing my mind. I forgot what it was like to move my head and it not want to explode or open my eyes and they not feel like that were going to pop out. This may sound very minor to some, but it is a very large step for me the pressure is still in my head I go for test in the morning for that so please pray for the Doctors and God's will. I will expect whatever He has in store for me.
JudyB keep the music coming. Let me know if you liked the one I sent you. May the LORD bless you always.
I can't seem to think of the Young lady who has the graphic web site. If anyone knows please give me her name and site. I would like to see the site and I have a question for her please. Thank you.
Janet thank you for the encouragement even though it was just in the front yard. I so enjoyed myself.
Prayers and Blessings to all.
Marlo--Praise God! Praise God!! Praise God!! I used to have migraines occasionally, and I cannot even imagine what it would be like to have them constantly. So I am very thankful to hear of your relief, and am praying that it will continue, and that you will soon be pain free!!
Etta Sue, thanks for the Cinnamon Roll Cake recipe. Sounds good, and easy! My kind of cooking! I have a couple of occasions this week, so will be trying that one!
We spent a full two hours at the Verizon office, and wound up keeping the same plan, as they didn't have a better one to offer. I did upgrade to a new phone with a slide out keyboard, so have to learn how to send and receive texts. I'm hoping by doing that to hear from Abby more often! I don't know why technical stuff is so difficult for me, but am determined to learn it!
Hello, dear Ruth Ann! Have a good sleep, and sweet dreams!
Carol, such a busy life you and Don lead. Glad you enjoyed the art fair!
I am determined to go to bed EARLY tonight!
Marlo I am the one who does the Web design, the link to my main site is HERE (http://grafxandmore.x10.mx) There are 58 pages there and the newest site I am creating is HERE (http://mychallenges.x10.mx/) with only two pages so far. Praise God that the new medicine is working to help relieve your migraines.
Praise God Marlo. I understand headaches. I am so happy for you!
Greetings to all! We are getting closer to home, only about 6 more hours of driving tomorrow to go. Looks like a lot has happened since a week ago, and I am most excited about Al's return home. That is wonderful news, and I'm sure he will get a new normal figured out.
The memorial service for my grandmother went great, thanks to your prayers and the workings of the Holy Spirit. Even family members that don't know Christ seemed to have been touched by the Spirit yesterday. I used Scripture from the Gospel of John to start and end the service, beginning with Jesus bringing Lazarus back from the dead and focusing on, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26) and wrapping up with John 14:1-6 "...I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." We spent about 4 hours sharing memories and becoming reacquainted with family members many of us haven't seen for 25-30 years. It is sad that it takes an event like this to get the family together, so I challenged our family to come together more frequently. Thank you, everyone, for your support and prayers. Having only filled the pulpit at church occasionally in the past, I was concerned that I wasn't prepared to lead an event like this.
As for the bus trip that Pat, Judy, Betty, etc are dreaming about, it sounds like a wonderful time, however I am a little saddle-sore right now!
Hopefully after I get home I will participate more regularly again. May your week be rich in His blessings.
It is well,
Ken
Hi everyone. I am expecting a very busy day today. After coffee we will head downtown as Pat has an appointment with the knee doctor. His office is next door to where our daughter lives so we will take this opportunity to be with her for a little while. We will go to lunch at the Shepard's Center and then she has asked us to take her to the grocery store to help with items it is difficult for her to get home using her power chair. I also have to stop off on the way and leave the broken computer of my good friend. I am going to try to do that on the way as there is a possibility, although not likely, it could be ready by the time we come back by this afternoon. Yesterday was another of the beautiful days after a damp and chilly start. Last night they were saying on the weather we may experience some storm late this evening.
Janet, it is difficult when our good and close friends become so ill. I hope she will be able to recover. I take it that your publisher isn't helping you market your book? Wish I had something to offer in regard to how to do such marketing but that is way beyond my experience or knowledge. Good for you on learning new things of a technical nature. You can do it.
Judy, hope you didn't get snowed in and the same for Jeanne.
Etta Sue, hope nothing serious is going on with Ivalou. You are right you can only offer to help and then it is up to the other person.
Carol, what is happening all over the world to Christians is a real concern. Just last week arson was attempted at one of our Methodist churches here in our county. Fortunately they caught the man responsible. When I was growing up our church doors were never locked and to my knowledge nothing was ever taken or damage done. We sure can't do that anymore.
Marlo, having suffered migraine headaches in the past I can so understand what a relief it is to get some period without that pain. I am amazed you can eve function in such pain. Hope permanent relief will be just around the corner for you.
Ken, while funerals and memorial services can be sad they are also times for families to reconnect as you have said. Hope the rest of your trip home goes well. About five years ago I headed a family reunion and say some first cousins I hadn't seen in over 50 years as well as many relatives I had never met before. Unfortunately, it is not likely we will ever have another reunion like it as no one seems willing to step forward to put it together.
Ken, thanks for the good report on your grandma's service, and the re-connecting time with family. I am planning a family reunion here sometime soon, haven't nailed down the date and must get busy on that. We are thinking around Memorial Day. We are calling it a "Siblings Reunion" but also stressing that the welcome mat is out for ALL relatives. Lots of work, but life is short!
Larry, hope your busy day goes well. I woke up to rain and wind early, but it looks as if the sun is trying to come out now. We so need the moisture, I was hoping it would rain for two or three days!
I have another book to package and mail, also a thank you and a sympathy card to mail, so better get those tasks done before it's time to head to town to Sr. Ctr for lunch.
Time to get back at it!

MASTER, THE TEMPEST IS RAGING (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/master_the_tempest_is_raging.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Master, the tempest is raging!
The billows are tossing high!
The sky is o'ershadowed with blackness,
No shelter or help is nigh;
Carest Thou not that we perish?
How canst Thou lie asleep,
When each moment so madly is threatening
A grave in the angry deep?
Refrain
The winds and the waves obey Thy will,
Peace, be still!
Whether the wrath of the storm tossed sea,
Or demons or men, or whatever it be
No waters can swallow the ship where lies
The Master of ocean, and earth, and skies;
They all shall sweetly obey Thy will,
Peace, be still! Peace, be still!
They all shall sweetly obey Thy will,
Peace, peace, be still!
Master, with anguish of spirit
I bow in my grief today;
The depths of my sad heart are troubled
Oh, waken and save, I pray!
Torrents of sin and of anguish
Sweep o'er my sinking soul;
And I perish! I perish! dear Master
Oh, hasten, and take control.
Refrain
Master, the terror is over,
The elements sweetly rest;
Earth's sun in the calm lake is mirrored,
And heaven's within my breast;
Linger, O blessed Redeemer!
Leave me alone no more;
And with joy I shall make the blest harbor,
And rest on the blissful shore.
Refrain

Janet a quick suggestion. Go to the Christian Radio Stations and let them read the book. They may do a review of it on the radio and thus "advertise" for you, also check into the Christian Book Stores, They may be willing to help you market it..
The fire is finally going. It was being stubborn today. Now to load it full, and out for groceries. Think I will have lunch out today!.
It is indeed good to be back home, able to comunicate with y'all, etc. I'm awaiting phys. therap. in about an hour, then the home health nurse later. She'll be coming quite often to check on my progress. They're going to install a hospitsl-type bed for me in the living room to replace my recliner chair. It should be great, becsuse it's got the "trapese-thing" aove it to help me get up/down, etc. Please pray that the phys. therap will do good things for me. I tend to be lazy, try to let things do everything for me, when I need to do a lot of things myself. God bless y'all.
Good Day Al: The hospital bed should be of great help to you - yes, prayers are coming for you to push yourself up (no pun intended) each and every day. Patience has rewards.
We are waiting for news from our friends in Tucson as to whether we drive there or not. He was ill yesterday and they want to see if he will be better by tomorrow. In the meantime, I am going to set up my sewing machine that has to be put away each time company arrives. It is such a hassle. Spent the morning cleaning & making a grocery list. TV is just full of nonsense, isn't it? A pan of lasagna is cooking as it was to be packed for our friend's house today but now I just want to get it baked and stored for tomorrow. Now to oil and clean my sewing machine - each and every time I sew a lot. Oil keeps the baby humming.
Larry: So true what you wrote about Christians being attacked in so many ways.

I think Ivalou has stopped her exercising at home...at least, she didn't do any while in Florida. So when she does do very much, it tires her out, makes her sore and she isn't worth anything for a few days.
I asked her to go to the pool with me today. She called and said today wasn't a good day for her...her legs didn't want to balance her good. So I went by myself.
With the soaring gas prices...again...I decided to get groceries at WalMart for myself while in Noblesville. I told Ivalou I would take her any day this week if she wanted to go but I thought if she decides she doesn't want to go, then I have to make another trip so I got mine today. I can always read or look at my Droid while waiting on her.
So I am back home and doing some laundry. I also got an email from TomTom saying that I have new maps to download to my TomTom so I might just go to the garage and get TomTom. The mail is here also.
Such a bright pretty day today. Looks like spring but it is still chilly...40°. On my way home from Noblesville, I opened the sunroof but closed it, mainly because of the noise! /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Al, I am rooting for you to be 'tough' and do what you need to do to improve your health and mobility. You can do it!!
:ticked: The dirt is blowing again! We are in deep trouble here in the heartland states of Nebraska, part of Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas, if we don't get significant moisture SOON! A lot of ranchers are selling off their cattle because the pastures have dried up....hard times. Another dust bowl is something I do NOT want to experience!
Thanks for the suggestions, Judy. I will call the Christian radio station. I did go to the Christian bookstore in Garden when we were there, nothing yet.......
Each morning when I pray, I give the book into God's hands. It was His idea, has been His project from the beginning, and what happens is up to Him. I will do my part, pursuing every avenue I know about, but the results are up to Him.
Talk to you later!
Hi, Etta Sue! We were typing at the same time!
Our last threat of snow turned out to be about 1/2 inch which is gone now. But the latest is tomorrow afternoon and overnight a possible accumulation of up to 6 inches. That is supposed to be followed by a cloudy day in the upper 30's, then rain and around 40, and winding up with mostly cloudy and near 40. So by then, even if we do get that 6 inches, it should be pretty well gone again.
Hello everyone I pray everyone is getting the sunshine like I am today. Well EEG test today showed epilsy seizures. The dr. Thinks that they are being suppressed some by being on the TOPAMAX which is a migraine and seizure medicine. Going to another specialist next tues for that. I have a 40 to 50 percent blockage in right artery. he didn't like that more test. So all in all everything is well getting results finally and the LORD is blessing everyday.
Al keep up the therapy it will be worth it ,
Janet the radio stations are for public use so use them to get Beth's story out there. I wish I had the money for the book maybe next round. I will pray that the stations will help.
Larry thank you for your kind and inspiring words everyday. We know you can't talk to us all but your messages do that for you.
JanetB your music is an inspiration everyday.
Jeanne lee you picture reminds me of my grandmother I will have to post her picture sone day.
Etta sue you remind me of an Aunt of mine she was always there no matter what.
I can name everyone and I apologize but I pray for all of my CP Family everyday.
Marlo, can you send me a personal message on this website about your address? I'd like to send you a card.
Marilyn, I don't feel really well enough to pursue your websites very long yet, but will do so when I feel up to seeing them. Today, all day long, my eyes have stung as if someone had put salt spray in them.
After taking an elderly friend (another one :) ) to the doctor today, I visited an hour or so with a wonderfu, loving Christian friend here at the apartments, and then went to check on that car work that must be done. "Not today, ma'am, but return at 8 a.m. tomorrow and we can begin working on it around 9 a.m. The work will then take about 2 hours." So, all together, I need to trust our Lord to provide me with enough materials to keep me from going insane in that tiny little office waiting room for 3 hours. ;)
Love to all,
Ruth Ann
Ruth Ann: Please don't go insane tomorrow - do you like to solve Sudoku? That, plus a good book and maybe you could practice some dance steps. They may fix your car faster. ;) On your eye irritation today, could it be an allergy?
Not a peep from our friends & we don't want to interrupt anything in case he is ill again today so we will wait until she calls. We still must drive to a cousin's home in the vicinity tomorrow for some genealogy and lunch so we will just keep the cell phone charged.
Hi everyone. Another Wednesday is upon us. Yesterday went well but we didn't do all that I had thought we might. We did make the trip to Atlanta so Pat could see the knee doctor. He gave her a shot in her knee, and she was feeling better even last night, and told her she is going to need a knee replacement. I went up and spent time with our daughter at her apartment until Pat was finished with the doctor's appointment and then we all went over to the Shepard's Center for lunch. Stacey decided she was really too tired to go to the store and it was starting to sprinkle so we came on home. I discovered that my friend's computer was out of warranty so spoke with him and brought it back to our town to have it looked at to see if it is worth the money to fix up. I dropped it off at the computer repair place on the way home yesterday.
Pat and I watched the movie "Courageous" last evening and think that may be the most powerful movie I have ever seen. It was certainly an emotional one with a great message. I could see myself in the various dads and the relationships with their children. No wonder the churches are sponsoring the showing of this movie and encouraging families to attend.
Today is our usual Bible study and time at Dunkin' Donuts. For lunch we are going to try out a new Del Taco that recently opened and then have a birthday gift to buy for a friend with whom we will have lunch tomorrow. That will be plenty for this day.
Janet, the reunion I planned several years ago in Denver started out to be the first cousins and spouses, which would have been around 20 people. Then the requests came to include families and, of course, one couldn't say no and we needed up with 85-90 people which caused some last minute problems with where we could meet. However, it all worked out and was wonderful. I hope you will have some help with your family reunion as that is very helpful.
Al, nice to read your cheery posting from yesterday. The bed sounds like it will really help you. I know of many people who have really been helped by the physical therapy and trust that will be the same for you.
Carol, you are so right about the content of the TV.
Etta Sue, our car has a sunroof and we seldom open it and would not have opted for it but it came with the leather seats that Pat considered essential. Hope Ivalou will be feeling better today.
Janet, sure hope we are not going into another weather period where you all will experience another dust bowl.
Jeanne, six inches of snow sounds like way too much. Glad you can stay inside in weather like that.
Marlo, I always have felt it is better to know what is wrong with me than to live in doubt and fear of the unknown. Glad the epilepsy seizures have been suppressed and the doctors will find the right medications. I appreciate your comment concerning my postings. When I don't address some comment to each person positing I always hope they will understand it isn't a personal thing but just that I had nothing to say regarding their posting for that day but have certainly read and appreciated their comments.
Ruth Ann, hope today finds your eyes feeling much better and the car work goes very quickly and well and that you don't lose your sanity in the waiting room.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FGirlandtwoKittens.gif&hash=2ed2cf7d8c706c251e530828a145d08b4cfb7c43)
I have discovered that after I am in the pool, I have a burst of energy! And no back pain! If anyone came to my house, they would not see what I accomplished yesterday but I know I was busy. I made four trips to my garage, two trips to the road, one trip to Ivalou's house, various things around the house that was a lot of walking, bending, sitting and moving! That alone is great!
So....Al...with that being said...do your physical therapy! Do it! It is worth it to become limber and active again even for only those necessary deeds you need to do. Like the saying says...if you don't use it, you lose it!
I think this is what is happening with my sister. Maybe I need to get her out more!
Today is a beautiful, sunny day with strong winds...probably coming from Kansas! We are having a heat wave...69°. Maybe I should open my windows and let the wind dust my house!!
My WeatherFX station in the house says 54 degrees. The WeatherBug says 65 degrees but my indoor/outdoor thermometer say 69 degrees! I will take the 69 degrees for the last day of February any time!!xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the world
Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass
Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

We had a terrible storm hit here about 10 last night, I sure made a lot of noise with the wind and rain pouring and blowing. There was the residue of snow on the street and the lawn. The street was only wet by the time I went to the gym but it is still on the grass and the deck right now.
Not much going on with me today, I do have to work on another web design that I have part way finished. and Bake a bath of Chocolate Chip cookies.
I hope everyone is doing well today especially those in the area of the tornado's. What awful devastation in Branson Mo. and Harrisburg Il.
I smashed one of my fingers at the gym this morning when I laid a 10# weight on the bars beneath the weight bench. My finger was between the weight and the bar. Drat!! It sure hurts, but I won't know the damage to the nail bed until I go to have my nails done and she takes off the polish.
Ouch, Marilyn! Hope that finger feels better soon.
Well, I may go crazy in the laundry room, but not at the car place. They closed because of the tornado and bad storm warnings. That laundry room is in the basement, and one side is dug into the hill our apt. tower sits on. So that surely will be as safe as I can be for the next period time. :)
I'm taking allergy meds, so don't know exactly what;s going on with the eyes.
Much love to all,
Ruth Ann
wow it seems everyone is fighting the storms today. I got a picture of a lighting bolt this morning around 4:30 by not means is it perfect far from it. But I at least tried and it is my first one. I posted it to my blog I can't seem to upload or download a picture from the CP site. Jeanee Lee help????? If you really want to see it just just check it our leave me feedback and let me know what you think. Be safe ]

Marlo that is quite a photos of the lightening.
I surely hope everyone is safe! Lots of storms in the area.
Love to all - back later tonight. :)
Ruth Ann
We have a snow storm going on. Everything is shrouded in a fog of snow. Actually really pretty. The wind is blowing the snow almost horizontal. I am so glad I am not out driving in this.
Ruth Ann Sorry you are having weather troubles, different from ours.
We have a problem with mice, this is an old farm house, and the critters find their way in. We have a couple of young cats, which we have let have free run in the basement. The mouse population is way down. Just an occasional influx. What has always amazed me was the way mice can climb a concrete wall. Today I saw they have met their match. The young cats can also climb the walls! I watched one of them as I was loading the furnace. Silly Kitties!
Today was a busy--but fruitful--day! I had an early appointment with my chiropractor, then at 9:00 was the funeral for friend Paula M. and what a lovely tribute it was! Then home to pick up Darrel, and we headed to Hugoton where I had a book signing at 11:30 at the senior center. I was well received, and sold a good number of books, which made me really happy. Then by Diane's store for a little while; to a furniture store-where I sold another book- then we got a drink and headed home. Have any of you tried vanilla cream cokes? They taste like a coke float! Good!
After we got home, I went to my little scrapbook class, then to the home to read to Beth, back home, where Darrel had supper ready (Yea, Darrel!) ......and that's my day!
Oh, yes! It was an absolutely beautiful day, too! Such a wonderful change from the dirt blowing yesterday. Well, that's Kansas!
Janet, tonight at church I thought I WAS in Kansas, with the wind blowing so hard that it was difficult to hear who was speaking.
I'm saddened by all the loss of life from weather and other problems today. Literally, we don't know the day nor the hour when we may meet our Lord. What a reason to work for Him all the more, to study our Bibles more, and to pray more!
Love to all today. I've got to go check my blood sugars, then head to bed.
Sweet dreams, everyone,
Ruth Ann

Do not pass by Your servant.
Genesis 18:3
Words: Fanny Crosby, 1868; first appeared in Songs of Devotion, by Howard Doane (New York: 1870).
Music: W. Howard Doane, 1870
As earnest Christian pastor told of a young man about whom he had long felt much anxiety, as he had seemed so unconcerned about his soul, and was, in reality, a real cause of disturbance and interruption in classes for other young men. Meeting him one day, the loving pastor sought once more to influence him, urging, "We want you for Christ and his service." There was a certain change in his manner which did not escape the eye of the prayerful watcher for souls, and lacking time to do more he seized the opportunity to secure the presence of his young friend at a Christian Endeavor meeting soon to be held. True to his promise he was there. When an opportunity was given for some of the young men to choose a song, it was seen that he was urging his companion to select some particular hymn. The other, yielding to his request, asked if the hymn, "Pass me not, O Gentle Saviour," might be sung; and both young men joined in the singing with evident interest and heartiness. Later in the evening it was requested that all who were definitely on the Lord's side would confess their allegiance by standing. Whereupon the one over whom the heart of the pastor was specially yearning rose at once, and with decision.
"Tell me about your conversion," the thankful pastor requested at the close of the meeting, when hands were clasped in glad, brotherly welcome and recognition.
"Oh, yes," assented the other. "It was all through that hymn we have just sung. I was working on the canal at G, and there was a meeting being held at the Mariner's Chapel, nearby. The words floated out over the water, and from the tug where I was working I could hear them plainly enough. When they were just going to sing those lines 'While on others Thou are calling, Do not pass me by' a great fear came over me, and I thought, "Oh, if the Lord were to pass me by, how terrible it would be!" Then and there, on the tug, I cried out, "O Lord, do not pass me by." And, with a bright smile "He didn't pass me by. I am saved.!"
 Â
Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Refrain
Savior, Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Let me at Thy throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief,
Kneeling there in deep contrition;
Help my unbelief.
Refrain
Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.
Refrain
Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heav'n but Thee?
Refrain

Hi everyone. We experienced a very rainy night here in Georgia but no storms in our immediate area and haven't heard regarding further areas of the state. Other than a birthday luncheon for a friend at Red Lobster today my day is free of further commitments. I hope to get the current batch of Golden Games applications finished. I have all the data entered into the database and now just how to print them out, check them and then make individual certificates of participation for each one of the applicants. The applications have been coming in slowly this year. I have a couple of other projects here at my desk to work on as well so won't be twiddling my thumbs.
Marilyn, was the Easter page designed for your grandchildren?
Ruth Ann, sure hope the storms left your area alone. We sure had a lot of rain during the night.
Judy, is John driving where they have a lot of snow as see blizzard conditions in a lot of the northern states? Sounds like having cats is almost a necessity with the farm house.
Janet, I haven't tried the vanilla cream cokes but recently tried diet coke with a shot of orange flavoring in it from the new coke machines that are appearing in various places and I really liked it. I also like the taste of lime in coke. Glad you were able to sell a lot of books as people need to read your book.

I, too, thought I was in Kansas while at Wednesday Night Live at church last evening. The church faces the west as well as the room we were in. Wind whistles all evening. Still windy today but no storms.
Kitty and I are meeting at Pizza King in a few minutes.
I met a man at the pool telling me there is no such place as heaven. :idiot: Said the new Jerusalem is NOT a city but a government ran by the 144,000 chosen ones. :clobber: When Christ is ready, he will call the people from the graves for the purpose of teaching the next generation about him...most recent deaths to the oldest. :uglystupid: And earth as we know it will be changed and that's where we will live in eternity!
What do you all think about this? I think he is full of bologna!
It is dreary today in Indiana. The temp is 37 degrees...quite a difference than this time yesterday! My windows were open and the lovely breeze was going through the house.
Oh, yes! As I was folding clothes, I heard Ali Cat crying and a terrible sound coming from her. I ran into the utility room. I had a window open and the mini blind was pulled up allowing the cord to hang lower. Ali had gotten herself caught in the cord and was hanging off the sink with the cord around her belly! I will never forget that sound! I grabbed her and usually she doesn't like to be held but she was so scared she was shaking she let me hold her. I calmed her down and let her down. She looked at me as if to say, 'Thank you'. And thank you, God, that I was home to rescue Ali.
Larry John is in Maryland. He will be ok, although he stopped late last night.
If anyone has a favourite hymn they would like to hear let me know, If it is in the listing of hymns I will post it.
Etta Sue, it sounds like you got an earful of Jehovah Witness philosophy! John 14:1-4 reads; "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know." This isn't an exclusive promise for only 144,000 chosen people, but is for all believers in Christ who follow the roadmap He gives in John 14:6; "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
It is well,
Ken
8 1/2 inches and counting! :o I'm inside, warm, dry and comfortable. And I don't have anywhere to go. It will be quite a while now until we see bare ground again, but temperatures near 40 and at least one rainy day should speed up the process.
Marlo, let me know what kind of problem you're having with loading/posting your picture.
Hi, friends,
I am back from playing piano for the Salvation Army golden agers group this morning. They're such a sweet, kind group of folk, so it's a blessing to be with them.
Our apartment management present seminars often in the multipurpose room downstairs. This one is how to look for scams - a police officer will be speaking to us. That happens in 15 minutes.
Then, a brief meeting to transfer the materials I'm finished with, at 3:30, and to receive the new materials.
After that, I get to rest about an hour before meeting with friends to celebrate someone's birthday.
Other than that, I don't have much to do1
Y'all have a great afternoon,
Ruth Ann
I sure apreciate all your prayers/wishes. I do admit that I thought being at home was going to be easier and better than it actually is. I need Marbeth to help me do so many things. Please pray for her as well. I can only sit in three different places here, as it's hard or impossible for me to get up from others. Thar makes it impossible to get my feet elevated, which they need. So you see some of the needs for prayer.
I must admit, Larry, that it did me good last evening to watch Golden State beat Atlanta!
Al, I hope things get easier for you both. Sometimes it takes a while to figure out a better way to do things.
Etta Sue, I agree with Ken. Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones I know who talk about the 144,000 chosen ones. As to whether heaven will be on a renovated (made new) earth, or somewhere in the heavens above matter not to me, because God is the creator and it will be perfect! Sometimes I don't think people actually know WHAT they believe!
We are to go to a fellowship meeting with friends from church, so I have Etta Sue's Cinnamon Roll Cake in the oven. Hope it turns out good--it is REALLY rich!
Two more books will leave for new homes tomorrow! Inch by inch, the thing's a cinch! ;)
Larry and Etta Sue.....John and I had a conversation last week on the subject of end times. We have come to the conclusion that only God knows "the time or the hour", also how things will unfold. BUT we believe the main thing to remember is that we are to BE READY. It is vital that we are prepared, for life or death. It is also vital we tell others to be prepared.
John is back in country and didn't encounter any bad weather. Thank you Lord!
Al I believe you will find that as you are home and getting comfortable, it will become easier to be at home. Off the top one big advantage is Marbeth doesn't have to drive out to you every day!!
God Bless
Right, Judy! We must LIVE ready! I try to remind myself of that fact daily! I fail so many times, but God's still working on me!
Judy - you are more than right about the daily drive beiing something Maebeth won't miss! The czr is sleeping in mornings! (And so is Marberth). Ive got plernty of reasons to want to stay here - just plenty of thing to overcome snd do better.
Hi everyone. No storms during the night but we may get some rain today and continued warm weather. We noticed yesterday that the Bradford Pear trees are blooming so I guess spring is here. Had a very busy day yesterday and probably will again today. After coffee I have a friend coming over for a little while and then another friend and I are anticipating going to Staples to pick up a new computer for our friend with the cancer who has been so ill. The bad news on his old computer was that the motherboard had failed. The good news is that the hard disk seems to be fine so their data won't be lost. I just printed out the individual reports for the 87 applications to the Golden Games I have processed so far and now need to print individual certificates of participation for each. That will be plenty for today.
Etta Sue, interesting that the man you met didn't believe in Heaven but did believe in God and Christ. Frightening experience for and with your cat.
Jeanne, sounds like you will have to be shoveled out with all that snow. Fortunately at this time of the year it shouldn't last too long.
Al, I haven't watched a single Atlanta Hawks basketball game and very few college games this year.
Janet, we can never know what someone else is going through if they don't share it and even then not very well. Hope today finds the situation better for Darrel and thus for you.
Judy, glad that John was able to avoid bad weather on his last trip out. I agree with you on the matter of the end times.
Al, I hope with time you will develop ways to cope with whatever limitations you encounter.
Al, just remember that you have a whole team here praying and rooting for you, so keep on doing the necessary things (even if they hurt!) so you can continue gaining strength and independence. I preach this to Beth all the time!
Today our carpenter is SUPPOSED to bring out some of those last cabinets and install them! This is taking forever, it seems! I want to get things put away and have my house back in order! I have a feeling he's been working for other people and putting us off, but am trying to remain positive, encouraging and patient. But I'm thinking there is a limit!! :ticked:
Time to head over to Pat's so she can do my hair!
I see Larry has posted while I was typing, so will read his post now. Hi, Larry!

Ephesians 6:13
Author: George Duffield, 1818-1888
Musician: Adam Geibel, 1855-1933
Stand up, stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner, it must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished, and Christ is Lord indeed.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus, the solemn watchword hear;
If while ye sleep He suffers, away with shame and fear;
Where'er ye meet with evil, within you or without,
Charge for the God of battles, and put the foe to rout.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus, the trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict, in this His glorious day.
Ye that are brave now serve Him against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger, and strength to strength oppose.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus, stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you, ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the Gospel armor, each piece put on with prayer;
Where duty calls or danger, be never wanting there.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus, each soldier to his post,
Close up the broken column, and shout through all the host:
Make good the loss so heavy, in those that still remain,
And prove to all around you that death itself is gain.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus, the strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle, the next the victor's song.
To those who vanquish evil a crown of life shall be;
They with the King of Glory shall reign eternally.

Ephesians 6:13
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
HYMN HISTORY:Preaching against slavery wasn't a popular I thing to do in many parts of the USA during the early 1850's. An awful civil war, brought about by division over that very issue, was looming.
However, Dr. Dudley Tyng, the twenty-nine year old rector of the Church of the Epiphany in Philadelphia, passionately believed that slavery was 'immoral and unchristian,' so he denounced it.
He also believed that all men are sinners by nature and need to repent and be converted if they are ever to enter heaven.
Dudley Tyng was no ordinary church pastor and this bold, straightforward denunciation of sin disturbed his cultured and wealthy parishioners so much that by the end of his second year in the church many were demanding his removal.
Tyng resigned from the rich and fashionable assembly and formed his own 'Church of the Covenant' which met for worship in a little meeting hall. With his wife and boys, he went to live on the family farm outside Philadelphia.
At the same time he also began giving lectures at the Philadelphia YMCA. Interest grew and thousands were converted to the Saviour. At one particular meeting held in Jayne's hall in March 1858, 5,000 men were present.
During his address Dr. Tyng said, 'I must tell my master's errand and I would rather this right arm were amputated at the trunk than I should come short of my duty in delivering God's message.'
Those words were strangely prophetic, for just the next week, while watching a horse-powered cornsheller at work on the the farm, he was caught in the wheels of the machinery and his right arm was badly mangled.
A few days later it was necessary to amputate at the shoulder.
Tyng was dying - and he realised it. As the loved ones gathered around his bed he took his father by the hand and addressed the old man, who was also a faithful preacher, in these words.
Stand up for Jesus father, stand up for Jesus
and tell my brethren of the ministry,
wherever you meet them, to stand up for Jesus.
And thus he died.
The dying exhortation impressed another of Tyng's ministerial colleagues, the Rev. George Duffield. He took up the theme in a sermon preached the following Sunday from Eph. 6: 14: 'Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth.' At the close of the sermon he read the words of this hymn he has composed just after Dr. Tyng's funeral.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus
Ye soldiers of the cross
Lift high His royal banner
It must not suffer loss
From victory unto victory
His army He shall lead
'Till every foe is vanquished
And Christ is Lord indeed.

There are quite a few men that are frequent at the pool. Two of them are very vocal. When I was first there for rehab, they got to talking about religion ... or the lack of. In the dressing room, the ladies were talking about Bob and Mike. Bob is an atheist! Mike is a Jehovah Witness! And yes, it was Mike I was talking to the other day. Maybe I should say the next time he corners me, 'Ya know! If you are right and I am wrong, I have nothing to lose. If I am right and you are wrong, you have everything to lose!' In MY Bible, I see everything about Heaven! And the main thing is to be like the Boy Scout...Always prepared!
Kitty and I had a great time eating pizza yesterday and drinking cokes. But we both got so cold, probably from the cokes, we decided to call it a day and leave!
I slept in today...love to sleep. Then I noticed I got my bank statement yesterday in the mail. I checked it out with my checkbook...didn't balance. An hour later, all is well after noticing I got a few cents more on my retirement deposit and a few cents less was charged by my automatic deductible car insurance. No mathematic errors...just wrong entries!
About an hour ago, the skies got real dark. Clouds were rolling. Finally it started raining...straight down rain...no wind. That lasted about 5 minutes and then the rain quit and the skies got lighter! We need the rain so all is good! I am listening to the radio and hope they report if there is bad weather in the neighborhood!
Al, hang in there! We are all praying for you and Marbeth! Now get up and do something!!»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏïS«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«

Amen Etta Sue be prepared! John is heading home. Sudbury is to get a heavy snow storm tonight, all coming from the southern states. Thankfully it should bi-pass North Bay. He has suggested I go with him in the truck to drop the last load. I will as it will get me out of the house for a change! :)
Be back later on have a great day everyone.
You preach it, Etta Sue! You're right on!
I walked the four mile route where I lost my left hearing aid in the wind the other day (didn't miss it until I took out the right one that night!) and got a stiff neck from looking so intently at the ground trying to find it. I know it would be a miracle if I find it, but our God is still in the miracle business!! And He knows exactly where it is! It could have caught on a tumbling, bouncing tumbleweed and be miles away by now! Or it could be here in the house, right under my nose, and I am just not seeing it! Please pray I find it, as I surely don't want the expense of replacing it. Thanks.
Our church is having "Movies and Manis" tonight for the ladies. Should be fun. We are to bring snacks, something to donate to the local food pantry, and our own nail polish. Maybe I can get acquainted with some of the new gals at church.
My friend Paula had to go on dialysis. I just talked to her, and she sounds so much better today. They are doing the peritoneal dialysis, which they can do at home, at least that's what they are trying first. I'm praying against depression, as this is really a hard time for them.
See you all later!
We are home. The snow started as we drove the last 12 km home. (16 km = 10 miles) We are both tired. We are going to watch a bit of TV and I will hopefully sleep tonight!
Janet Our Father has his eyes on your hearing aid, I am praying he puts your eyes on it!
Have a good night folks and I will be back in the morning!
Hi - we are back late today from driving all over the state and visiting plus staying with our old friends. They really needed to go OUT for dinner so we took them to a Chinese restaurant for early bird meal. He needs a hip replacement but his heart and blood are in tough shape. It is hard to see this happen.
Before that, we had lunch with my twin 2nd. cousins & they are such a hoot since they often finish each other sentences. They look alike except one limps from being shot in the knee in Korea. The other twin just flew over Korea on a bomber. That is the war no one remembers.
My friend had baked some great cookies and while there we picked two huge oranges off the tree. Dinner tonight was a cookie and half orange that was the sweetest and juiciest orange ever....we stopped at a flea market (no fleas there) and Don bought two belts and I bought two reading glasses for myself. Big spenders. Tomorrow morning is a big sale at church so we will go early & check it out then I had better get busy on seeing what groceries are on hand here.
How devastating for all in these terrible tornadoes and other storms. Prayers for all who are having drastic changes in life and loss of family and homes.
Well, tomorrow morning I can assess any camages to the car because of the teriffic hailstorm this afternoon. There were funnel clouds all around, and several have been killed with others now homeless because of these storms.
Thankfully, I have an area in my apartment with no windows that is reasonably secure, so that's where I was.
Lots of news today - thanks to each of you who contribute to this wonderful forum.
Pat and Paul, I'll be assessing finances to determine the amount I can contribute toward maintaining this site.
Love to all,
Ruth Ann
My dear ladies in TN Ruth Ann and in IN. Etta Sue (and anyone else living in the area I have not meet) I pray you are well and safe we had some storms here. Hail large but, smaller than some reported took some pictures wil post on nature. My sister in Ohio had four tornadoes touch down within five miles of her home with 14 casualties . Please take time to pray today. It would be nice as a whole to pray all at once so I am saying at 7 pm tonight I will be kneeling praying for our brothers and sisters. And our Nation and all of you If you have a certain prayer request you would like me to add. Let me know before then. The time here now is 9:22 am.
You don't have to join me but, it would be a wonderful feeling to know that all of CP was united at the sometime. Many prayers Marlo
Hello I put pictures in the close ups they are very poor I had to take picture of the phone, Sorry.
I am also sorry for my last post I don't want to pressure anyone into anything. I will still be praying at seven. God Bless you all and watch for my woodpecker. I caught Him this morning. I have edited or anything so I don't know what it looks like. I am excited.
Marlo, if the Lord nudges me at 7:00 p.m. EST tonight (and I'm sure He will), I'll be joining you. I think that's a wonderful idea.
Our storm wasn't hurricane and hail, but snow and cold. We were told earlier that it would be close to 50 and raining all day today but then the forecast changed. Light rain showers which ended early and mid 30's to 40 for a high temperature. Oh, well!
I will be joining you as well Marlo Wonderful idea.
We have a major snowstorm last night and today, Wind snow and more snow. That started on the 2nd, I wonder if that works as March coming in like a lion? It sure is a lion, I woke up last night a couple of times with the wind blowing!.

Count Your Blessings (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/countyourblessings.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Refrain
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done!
When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Refrain
When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
Refrain
Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.
Refrain
So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey's end.
Refrain

Thank God, we have lovely weather today--always subject to change on short notice, but so nice while it lasts! So sad the many areas of devastation from the weather.
Marlo, I am asking God to remind me about praying with you this evening. Great idea!
Our carpenter says he will be bringing the big cabinets for our bathroom this afternoon, so I have some more things to move out of the way. I will be so glad to get stuff back where it belongs! Maybe in a few more days he will have the laundry room ones done, and that will be the end of this renovation!
Carol, are you back home in Colorado, or did I misunderstand what you wrote? Always good to read your posts.
I'm off to work on whatever needs it most!

I am okay. The storms here only amounted to rain, high winds and some hail which I didn't see. But a couple of small towns in southern Indiana are completely wiped out...no buildings without damage and some completely gone. Last count last night was 13 fatalities and 17 spotted tornadoes in southern Indiana.
Tony called me to make sure I was okay. He works south of Indy so he was closer to the storms than I was. I do think I saw one of my downspouts cross the road but that can be replaced! I don't see anything white in the field across from me...it may be in Lapel by now!!
Today is a do nothing day. I do need to sweep up some kitty litter. Wish I could train those girls to wipe their feet!!:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Hi everyone. It is a beautiful day with bright sunshine and seasonal temps after a very warm day yesterday and a very frightening night in the Atlanta area. We came through the storms without problems and just had a lot of rain but didn't notice any undue wind or hail that plagued other areas around Atlanta. Apparently a lot of the tornados they were tracking across the Atlanta suburbs didn't hit the ground as so far haven't heard of much damage or injuries or loss of life in the area. This was certainly one gigantic storm across the county. Yesterday afternoon my friend Rod and I went shopping for the new computer for our other friend who is suffering with the return of the cancer and has been pretty well house-bound for more than a month. We found a Dell at Best Buy that appears to be a good computer and should serve them well. I called him and offered to bring him the specs so they could study them overnight but he and his wife said they wouldn't know what they were looking at and just go ahead and buy the computer. Rod is getting it all set up with the updates to Windows 7 and getting the data from the old hard drive and then will take it to them and hook it up for them. I just got home from a meeting and having lunch and that will be it for today.
Does anyone remember the Watkins salesman that used to call at houses to sell things. I thought the cases they had to display the products were the neatest things. I guess Watkins products are still available but don't hear much about them. My mother thought their vanilla was the absolute best.
Janet, this time next year your home repair project will be a thing of the past and you will be enjoying the finished product. Can understand your frustration with the slow progress. It does sound like you are happy with the quality of the work when you can get him there to work.
Judy, nice you could go with John to make his last delivery. I bet his enjoyed having some company in the truck.
Janet, so sorry to hear you say you lost your hearing aid while walking. My friend Rod is always forgetting to put his in his pocket when he comes to coffee or forgetting what pocket they are in. The other day he was hunting for the second aid and it was in his ear. I have never liked the smell of nail polish so can't imagine what a whole bunch of ladies using it at the same time will be like. Hope you had a wonderful time.
Ruth Ann, I hope the damage from the hail isn't too severe on your car but better that than have damage to your apartment. We apparently had some places around here that experienced baseball size hail during the storms last night. Pat and I are talking about getting helmets to protect our heads in the event of a tornado. We really have no place to go other than a closet next to the stairs.
Etta Sue, sure glad to see your posting and know you survived the night without major damage from the storm. This may be a very tough spring for tornados.
It looks like I didn't post here yesterday. Marlo I will be praying too.
I took Happy to the vet for his monthly check up yesterday to see if he had to continue with the anti-fungal med. Happy is doing well and is in good health. I showed the Vet a lump on Happy's behind and found out is it a cancerous lump that will definitely have to come off, if it continues to grow he will not be able to go potty. so I have to come up with a total of $795. He will take half down and the rest in payments with collateral, the only thing I have for collateral is my mother's wedding ring and I do not want to part with that even though I would get it back. I have put out a call for help on Facebook for his expenses as there is no way I can come up with that amount. All I can do is pray that God will send me an angel or several angels to help with expenses. Keith is going to pay for my Train fare in July and probably some of the boarding fees for when we go on vacation in June.
Sorry to burden y'all with this, so thank you in advance for letting me talk about the financial problems in my life right. I've had one friend respond to my plea already with a small check and every little bit
helps.
Larry Walmart sells small bottles of the Watkins Vanilla, I remember the Watkins man, Jewel Tea and the fuller brush man coming to our house.
And the weather has done another flip-flop! Sunny, mild and things are starting to melt.
Thank you for agreeing to pray with me at 7 pm . God says "Pray without ceasing and Ask and you shall receive." I believe that with all my heart. I posted my early morning bird on the wildlife forum .
Jeanee Lee no matter how focused my pictures are when I down load then here they become blurry and I still can not get into my gallery or the group gallery say"

Back to the Gallery
I click on Gallery then it drops down click on your then it goes to the screen above . Just don't know. :)
I remember the Fuller Brush Man well. A family member sold Fuller Brush between jobs and made quite a go of it. I have a Fuller brush bath brush which was my MIL's It is still in good shape.
We have snow, wind, snow, wind, and more snow. We aren't going anywhere today. John feels like he is coming down with a cold. He is using Cold FX today and hope that wards it off for him
Marilyn vet expenses are unbelievably high......Been there too.
Have a great day folks and let us count our blessings, we could have so much less..
Have been praying for everyone in tornado and storm areas. We've had very strong winds and wet heavy blowing snow here, and didn't have hydro for about 10 hours. The birds have been stocking up at the bird feeders, and we've been told not to go on the roads except in emergency. But it looks like it's clearing up. Amazing how beautiful it can look after the storms.
Marlo - I have been praying and will continue to do so. Thanks for the reminder. It's hard to imagine the types of storms you have in your areas when we are still in the middle of winter here.
Marilyn - I'm sorry your dog isn't doing well.
Larry - I remember the Watkins salesman too. And I can still remember the smell of the salve/ointment my mother used for any and every sore/cut/burn. I think the smell was supposed to cure us. The ointment worked well though.
Ruth Ann - I'm glad you are okay. Cars can be repaired and replaced.
Janet - My Dad read your book and was really blessed by it. I'm not sure when I'll get it back as he has already passed it on to my sister, and then wants to have me loan it to my aunt. Her daughter has MS, and has had it for about 30 years - they've had a difficult time with it, but her love for the Lord shines through everything.
Ken - Glad you're back, and that God gave you the words to say at the funeral. I really enjoy your pictures on your blog.
We've been stripping wallpaper all day. My husband has been laid off, and is starting "early retirement" so we are doing some renovating. Some of the wallpaper was quite difficult to get off, but I think we have the worst off now.
Marlo: I will have to check the time here vs. eastern time zone. There is no daylight saving time in Arizona and it does get confusing. No Spring ahead, Fall Back. Whatever, I have been and will continue to keep the prayers.
Ruth Ann: Sorry that you had to go to your little shelter as it is a stressful time. We all never forget stuffing the children and dog into a basement closet and I threw sleeping bags over them while windows were breaking upstairs. Cannot imagine the severe storms that are happening now. Do you have a little bag to grab and go? I hope your favorite car is alright.
Janet: We are still in Arizona until the end of March and will return in time to celebrate my favorite time of Easter and Holy Week. Meanwhile, lots of company continues to call here. Sorry about your hearing aid being lost - I read Larry's note to you. They are much too expensive.
Carol, 7:00 p.m. Eastern time will be 5:00 p.m. in Arizona. ;)
My poor husband is really feeling bad just now. Our little dog loves to run circles around the car; we have been trying so hard to break her of that---but while I was at the care home visiting Beth, he went to the grocery store and when he came home, Blue did that and he hit her. We don't know what injuries she has, nothing is obvious, but she is in pain. Darrel thinks she is just bruised up. I want him to take her to the vet and get her checked, but he says he doesn't think she's hurt that bad. We are trying to figure out how to give her an aspirin for the pain. Poor doggy.
Lon didn't bring the cabinets. :-\ Now he says Monday. Seems the varnish got tiny bubbles in it as it dried.
Betty, it is good to know the book is being enjoyed and is blessing people. We hope it will sell well enough that we can donate funds for NF research. Today, Beth got a note from the director of the senior center where I had the book signing this week. It was a really nice note of thanks and encouragement. I am saving all the cards, notes and letters she receives and will put them in a scrap book for her.
I do hope your car isn't damaged, Ruth Ann, but if so, better by far the car than you! Hugs.
Larry, it is so nice of you and your friend to get another computer chosen and set up for your sick friend. Being without a computer once you are used to having one is really frustrating!
I finally painted the inside of the front door today, been putting it off. I had excuses, but finally decided, "Janet! Just DO it!" So I did.
Dirt and tumbleweeds are rolling across the Kansas prairie this afternoon. :P
Janet no Asprin....Tylenol. Half of a regular would likely be enough.
It is still snowing here. Not likely our driveway will be cleaned out tonight. Lloyd usually waits till the snow stops. ;(
Gotta run eating late tonight, back tomorrow.
NO!! Tylenol it is toxic to dogs as it has acetaminophen A baby aspiring is what the Vet told me.
Take her to the VET Please Janet!!! It could be internal injuries. I know you don't want to watch her die before you eye because you didn't take her to the VET. Or to see her in pain.
Janet, I wish you'd put your website in your signature area.
Well, I didn't return here until after 7 pm, but will pray as I head to bed.
The little PT cruiser has dents in it, but they aren't terrible and probably won't be noticed by anyone but me. So, although I told a friend it sounded like a buffalo stampede on my windows and vents, the Lord was very good - very good indeed.
I made chicken veggie soup for dinner tonight, and then finished making the other soup by adding some curry paste, a couple of tablespoons of rice, and a diced apple. Yum! Mulligatawny soup for tomorrow night. :)
Y'all have a wonderful evening with our Lord.
Ruth Ann
I use Tylenol all the time and have been told to NEVER use aspirin. That was from 2 different vet clinics. I do agree the pup should go to the vet.
Thanks, Pat! Now, why didn't I think of that?
Blue is still with us but not looking good at all...... :'( She is Darrel's dog and what he decides to do is HIS decision, I can only suggest. He loves her so much.
I really enjoyed hearing the Moscow Gospel Hillbilly Band yesterday at the care home. A lot of the residents sang along with them, as they sing the old gospel favorites we grew up singing. One of the ladies who sings with them took one of my books and is going to try to get me some speaking engagements/book signings. Praise God for Christian connections!
Beth is really looking forward to going to church, especially after missing last Sunday.

Pat, I guess I need help! I don't know how to attach a photo nor the website!

There it is. My favorite animation. For you new folks, just keep watching!!
I am running a tad behind today. I looked at the filters on the heat pump and decided they desperately needed cleaned so did. Rushing now.
I am all ready to go to church. It is snowing a tiny bit. But I will be back this afternoon for you know what!<: )) ))><<~~> <: )) ))><<~~< <: )) ))><<~~<

Hi everyone on another bright but chilly morning here in Georgia. After supper last night I was able to pick up my friends (Bob and Mary) computer from my other friend Rod. He had completed the Windows 7 install and update and put files from the old hard drive on the computer. I took it over to Bob and Mary's and hooked it back up and helped Mary install a couple of programs they use and get their Gmail back in operation. I showed them how to use the LibreOffice to access their MS Office files. There are a couple of other things to do on it but they could wait as Bob was tiring and the evening was advancing. If Mary feels up to attending church this morning I will go over and stay with Bob while she and Pat go to church. Otherwise I will go to church with Pat this morning. I have some reports to prepare this morning for a Wednesday evening meeting and then will be pretty well caught up on my "to-do" list. I guess it is time to make another one. Does anyone else make "to-do" lists?
Marilyn, I didn't realize Walmart had Watkins vanilla. I will have to let Pat know.
Judy, hope you aren't snowed in today and that John is feeling better.
Betty, we have had a very early spring here in the SE. Our bradfort pear trees are now in bloom around Atlanta as are the spring flowers. Did the Watkins salve have camphor in it? I remember that smell as well now that you mention the salve. Stripping wallpaper is not an easy job but the final results with the new paper are always enjoyable.
Janet, so sorry to hear of the accident with the little dog and know how upsetting that can be. Sure hope there are no internal injuries and that today will find the dog feeling better.
Pat, great idea for Janet to put her website in her signature.
Ruth Ann, those little dents certainly won't affect the running of your car. Glad they were not worse.
Why Tylenol is poisonous to dogs (http://www.vetinfo.com/tylenol-poisonous-dog.html)
Tylenol Dog Poisoning (http://pethealth.petwellbeing.com/wiki/Dog_Tylenol_Poisoning)

Snow snow snow and more snow. Also cold. It is bright out but snow is either blowing or still coming down.
John got the truck running, it spluttered for about 10 seconds. and away it went. If John were buying a new truck he would leave the Peterbuilt, Kenworth and International behind. It would be Volvo all the way. It is superior in driver comfort as well as in mechanics. We never have to plug this unit in. Thus a savings on our hydro bill. This is coming from a die hard Pete driver! Now getting out of the driveway may prove to be a challenge, we are pretty well snowed in and the driveway is too long to shovel.
It's that time again!!
Time for a new place for our thoughts. (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=12179.msg171341#msg171341)
