Hi everyone.  I just about wore myself out today as after coffee and walking 18 laps at the gym (approx. 1 mile) my friend Rod and I went shopping and I also stopped at Kaiser for a blood test in preparation for seeing the cardiologist next week.  I am looking for a new laser printer.  I have been the webmaster and these last two years the database manager for the Senior Golden Games in our county.  I just about wore my printer out this year printing somewhere between 1200 and 1500 pages of reports of documents and certificates that they needed.  They have offered to buy me a new laser printer to use for the games but which will belong to me and I am taking them up on the offer.  I did some Internet shopping early this morning and then we went to several places to look at the printer and now my friend is going to order it using his Cosco Shopping card and have it delivered here.  It will cost a little less than $150 and is made by Brothers and should well do the job.  I am not getting a color laser printer as don't need it.  It should make the printing costs go down as the toner is less expensive than the inkjet ink.

After we finished shopping we stopped to eat at a Chinese place we had eaten at the first time we had ever gone shopping together right after he moved here about 2 1/2 years ago.  It is very good then and really terrible today.  The food was cold and tough and just not tasty.  We will not be returning to that place.

I have retired to my easychair for the remainder of the day as even my nap didn't revive me.  Tonight the Sweet 16 for the men's NCAA Basketball Tournament begins around 7 pm so will be tuned in.

Judy, hope you find time to rest up on your time away.  I am sure your sister will be happy to see you (right Pat?)

Samantha, continue to rely upon the Lord and you won't be let down.  Of course, sometimes God's plan for us isn't what we think it should be but we never know what lies ahead and what may be needed to get up there.  Glad you shared with us.

Hi Ruth, hope you enjoy the curling dinner.

Janet, it sounds like your busy schedule continues.  Hope you have a great time with your painting class tomorrow.  I am sure the school children will be happy to see you again.

Carol, Pat has had Bernina sewing machines for many years and never really had any problem with them.  In truth this wasn't a problem but just the misapplication of the walking foot attachment.  She gave her old Bernina 914 or 940 (probably mixing up the number) to her sister as it still works very well.

Al, you expressed so well what I was thinking after reading Ruth Ann's postings.

I am finally here to post great day here today, beautiful sunshine and cool weather. Took My friends mother and her two dogs for their walk  up at Azalea Park, then came home walked my dogs. Talked to a friend in Oregon on messenger, went to Dollar Tree to do some shopping. I feel great and God is so good.

Samantha I am praying for you sister.

Larry it seems like you were very successful in finding what you in in the way of the Laser printer.

Carol I have so much fabric I will probably never use it all. I need to make some more aprons. I would like to make one of those old fashioned pinafore type but I need a pattern, or to see a picture of one and make my own pattern.

We have had a horrible shock here in our small town again today.  At noon, a car carrying five sophomore girls pulled out into the path of a loaded 18 wheeler, right in town, and four of them are dead.  The driver is alive but in serious condition.  Prayers for their families and friends would be wonderful, folks.  It will be so hard here for the next while, and for a long time for the loved ones.  :'(

My youth friends were really happy to see me today.  They both jumped up and hugged me and told me they had missed me.  We had a nice visit, and then I read them the two books my sister Shirley wrote.  They liked them a lot.

Class went well, and while Maxine painted (she's the only one who came) I worked on my family reunion memory album and got that almost done.  So that's another chore to cross off my long list.

See you tomorrow.

Hi All   :)

Haven't visited here in quite some time, but used to catch up on a bit of reading via my cellphone.  I'm a bit behind now though... ::)

First of all, wonderful coat of paint on the site.  I almost thought I got the wrong site when I first got here.

Second, I want to thank you for the beautiful birthday card you sent me in December.  Thank you Pat for sending a reminder email!  I got it in January though - was on vacation and my desktop wouldn't fit in my suitcase!!   :idiot:
I was pleasantly surprised and really cheered me up, as I was going through a bit of a tough time.  I've seen specialists and I must say that I'm beginning to feel a bit better and am hopeful for the future.

Third, the news + photo's of Paul & Pat!  WOW!!  I've in particular read the piece that Paul wrote and boy, did it touch my heart!  God Bless You both, Paul & Pat.  My heart sings for you!!  Glory to God!

Well, it is five past two in the morning here by me.......should get some shuteye.

Lots of Love, God's richest Blessing to one and all,

daisy

Congratulations
Pat, I'm so glad I came on tonight to see your beautiful ring and the lovely roses.   I can hardly wait to see it in person.  Wow I love solitares!

I am so happy for you and Paul.  When I met him, I realized he was someone special and to think now he is going to be in the family.  This is so exciting!

I know you are going to be SO busy in the next little while with everthing that is going on.   I will be praying for you both that God will grant you peace during this exciting time and everything will go according to His plans.   :) :)

God bless

Hi, friends, I've had so many meetings to go to at work today, and a bunch of phone calls, so am kinda "tuckered out" from not doing very much work!

At any rate, I'm glad that the minister's sermon spoke to y'all, too. I've thought about it all day. And, as a matter of fact, yesterday, I left work feeling like I was fighting that undertow, but today, seems like the overflow's been really great.

Oh, how thankful we need to be for God's love and care for us, through thick and thin.

Y'all have a great rest of the day.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Hi Paul,

What a great post and those pictures with Geordie are just fabulous!    I heard that you and Pat will be doing a lot of traveling in the next little while.     I will be praying that God will give you the energy and strength to carry it all out.   Welcome to the family Paul!

Hello Everyone,

I've been a bit busy.  And it's going to be that way for a while.  I'll drop in when I can and check in and participate in Challenges and so on.  Your prayers for our work in Japan are always appreciated.

Here are a few verses from the last chapter of the gospel of John.

After breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?"

"Yes, Master, you know I love you."

   Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."

He then asked a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?"

"Yes, Master, you know I love you."

   Jesus said, "Shepherd my sheep."

Then he said it a third time: "Simon, son of John, do you love me?"

Peter was upset that he asked for the third time, "Do you love me?" so he answered, "Master, you know everything there is to know. You've got to know that I love you."

Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. I'm telling you the very truth now: When you were young you dressed yourself and went wherever you wished, but when you get old you'll have to stretch out your hands while someone else dresses you and takes you where you don't want to go." He said this to hint at the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. And then he commanded, "Follow me."

Kevin - as paraphrase versions go, I think I like the one you're using above all the rest.  It's really helpful. yet stays pretty close to the intended meaning.  I would still use my NKJV for absolute accuracy, but yours is sure good reading.  Thanks for giving us some of it.

Hi everyone.  It is an overcast but warm day here in the South.  I went to coffee at the senior center and then four of us walked a mile at the church gym.  I am finding that by the end of the week this is leaving me dragging but will have two days to rest up.  I think we have decided that 18 laps (1 mile) is sufficient so that will likely become the goal each time we walk.  We have been walking for the last three weeks now and have averaged 4 days a week.

I got the results from my blood test that I had done yesterday and was a bit shocked to find that I have chronic kidney disease in Stage 3 for the Glomerular Filtration Rate test.  The count is 46 and the normal is 90 or more.  I will have some questions for my doctor next week when I have the echo cardiogram and consultation with him.  This is considered moderate and there are two stages below this one.  I guess it is the result of all the heart medicines I have taken the last 20 years.

Janet, that was indeed shocking news and especially for a small community.  We have similar events in our large metro area each year and I believe that the law now says that teens are not allowed to have other teens in the car without an older adult present.  Many lives have been adversely impacted by one moment of carelessness.

Daisy, nice to see your postings.

I need to go to the grocery store.  We are attending a special meeting tomorrow and then expecting our grandchildren and great grandchildren to all be here on Sunday afternoon.  This will be another another wonderful blessing from God that I certainly couldn't foresee this time last year.  We also have a wedding reception to attend for our choir director and her new husband at 4 pm at our church.  I told her Wednesday night that I might be a bit late since the family was coming.

I need to get to the grocery and do some stocking up.

JudyB

I have always thought it interesting that Jesus asked three times if Peter loved him.  Heard lots of reasons for this, but still have found it curious.

I am selling sewing machines by default.  I have sold two today, even though I know little about them.  Well that is good for the store.

I am leaving as soon as I can to head south.  I am looking forward to seeing Pat, it has been too long since I have seen her.  I wish I could have met Paul while he was up, unfortunately that didn't happen.

Well back to work and everyone have a great day.

Carol

Jumping in before I pick up a neighbor and I drive to a quilt retreat in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  We have had snow and this is the wet stuff that sticks to grass and doesn't bother the streets.

Janet:  My prayers for the entire town and especially the family members.  If the survivor makes it, the burden will be heavy and I pray for that person as well.  In an instant - that is why I never wanted our children to be in a group in the car.  There were four teens killed when ours were in school and all for rushing back to school at lunch time -

Larry:  I don't know anything about kidney problems and I do know that you take good care of yourself including many visits to doctors.  This is a surprise and I send my prayers that you will get the correct care.  Yes, those meds are truly hard on the body.

JudyB:  Enjoy your visit with Pat.  She is feeling lonesome so she needs company  :)

I didn't post yesterday!!  Wow!

Janet ~ I will be praying for the families of those girls and the driver of the 18-wheeler.  How sad!

I did take my tower to Best Buy and I got a DVD/CD-RW installed.  The sound board was fine.  And one of the cats had chewed a wire in two on my brand new speakers and my mic.  So I purchased a new mic.

I also got my new eye-glasses while I was in town.

When I got home, I repaired the speaker wire...got everything wired back up and voila!  I do have sound!  Now everything is working great again.  I haven't installed the software yet.  Maybe later today.

Kind of cold and dreary today in Indiana.  Only 37°.  But spring is on its way!!!  God promises.

Here I am checking in. I have already been here to read several times catching up with whomever  wrote the last post. I have been doing laundry. I sat here while the second load was washing then went out and discovered that I hadn't turned on the dryer for the first load. Silly me.

I had a really good phone conversation with my friend in North Bend, Oregon last night. We must have talked for close to two hours.

I slept like a log  didn't even wake up once. Sure felt good, probably wouldn't have woke up when I did  but for Bebe's whining to go out., it was 4:30 time to get up anyway.

ONCE UPON A TIME on Vancouver Island, come the end of March, we were shoveling Cherry Blossoms, while other areas were shoveling snow.  This morning I looked out at a thick carpet of snow, while more was falling, with something resembling a blizzard!  ??? ::)

Could use a visit from your dancing cats, Etta Sue.  The plumbers were here this morning and mine hid under the bookcase in my bedroom.  No comfort there....

I must go now and clean up their mess (plumbers) and restore order to the bathroom.  Then start packing up my china, etc.  Anyone got a small, attic room, they would like to rent to an old lady?   :(

How are you feeling, Al?

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless,

Liz

yes Jane I do know that.   How far down the street? My friend Conny said it it about 10 miles from Coos Bay  but my  friend told me it is 3 blocks to Coos Bay.

They are practically merged ... Coos Bay and North Bend share a common "line."  You can be driving down a street and it's called Woodland Drive then all of a sudden the sign is changed to Broadway St.  You've crossed the line between Coos Bay and N.B.

It's been a bone of contention for some time around these parts ... Neither city wants to be incorporated with the other.   ;)

You are so right, Ed.  I need to do a little venting also!  Plumbers made errors upstairs in the bathrooms and work will have to be re-done.  One expensive sink is flawed and has to be removed and replaced....my daughter is about to collapse and vents on my head all day long...Sure glad I am a Christian...it is being put to the test every hour.

Here is a picture of the snow.  I took it early this morning thro' my window..to cold for going outside.  Snow fell off and on all day.  This is supposed to be Spring...snow is very unusual in this climate.

I know tomorrow will be a better day.   :)

Scotty...nice that you get to sleep in.  Homeschool must be great.
Come and post lots!

Good Morning. Liz to answer your question this friend is a male friend. He is driving down today  for a visit and to go to church with me tonight and tomorrow too. That sure is a pretty scene out your window, better for the snow to be there than here. DSorry to hear about the  situation with the plumbing and Wendy's venting on you.

Pat no thanks on the snow, I don't relish being that cold, it sure is beautiful tho' when everything is covered with  snow.

Liz, I'm so sorry your quiet world has been so disrupted.  I would begin to think all that updating wasn't worth it.  Will the property be worth that much more than the cost of all the work being done, once it is finished?  Goodness, it sounds like such an ordeal.  And if they (and you) are going to live there for the foreseeable future,.........well, anyway, I hope it gets finished shortly and peace can return to the household.  In the meantime, how about a vacation in Kansas?  You'd be more than welcome here.  8)  No snow, either, although we need and want it so much!

Scotty, it's so nice to have a young person around again!  You add a lot of energy and a spark that we enjoy.  Keep on posting!

Darrel is off to Garden City again for a trouble call.  Someone is doing construction and has messed up their alarm system.  I would have liked to go along, but I'm working this afternoon.

Pat and Judy, enjoy your "sister time."  (I know you will.)  The days are flying past and soon the big day will arrive!! 8)

I called my granddaughter last evening, just to hear her voice and reassure myself she is okay.  I've been thinking of the grandma here who lost TWO of her granddaughters in that awful accident.  They were cousins, not sisters.  Such a terrible waste of young lives....... :'(

I want to go check the votes in the challenge.
