Title: Thoughts for February 2022
Post by: JudyB on February 03, 2022, 05:12:09 PM

Let the year be given to God in its every moment!.
G. Campbell Morgan

From Chris Saunders

"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has torment. He that fears is not  made perfect in love."
1 John 4.
This verse can be a bit hard to understand, .fear of what..fear of punishment?
I think it is exactly this..those who do not know God have every right to fear God's wrath, He is a loving, God but just in His ways, He has a Book..and in it are commandments, these are not to be broken, if they are broken then we have sinned against God.
The punishment for sin is death,  physical and spiritual death. So is there any way out? Because all have sinned and fallen short of how He wants us to live.
Yes of course, God in His great,  far seeing mercy, knew that we would sin,  and had already provided a way of escape for us, Jesus Christ the Son of God is  that way of escape, So basically if you ignore or reject Christ , then you have every right to fear God.
Because you have not been to Him for cleansing and forgiveness, you are a rebel fighting a battle that you cannot win, against a God who loves you, but cannot forgive you because you won't accept that you need it.
Yes you have every right to fear dying.

Thankyou, Janet.

It has been a tough week here in Canada... Not getting into it, however I will be happy to get life back as normal.  Please keep John and Doug in prayer as they head down to LA I am missing him already and he just left at noon today.

I am exhausted, and heading to bed I will be back soon.

"The Light shines in darkness and the darkness does not comprehend it.
John 1.
"He has blinded their eyes, they don't see,  they don't hear or understand,"
Tragic,
Absolutely tragic that God's highest creation..mankind, has no knowledge of Him, because they wanted to believe a lie, and fables and old wives tales , they will put anything in front of their face except God, Jesus said to His disciples.."it is given to you to understand"..He taught the people in parables which they did not understand, the seed fell upon stoney ground mostly,
Only the chosen few were given the gift of understanding, only the humble understood John the Baptist, rulers and intelligentsia,  religious people,  just like today had no time to repent of their sins.
"What go down into that river in front of everybody that knows me and repent of my sins and be baptised, I don't think so!"   And so the humble are saved, the proud are  lost. No change today, for mankind with all it's mighty technology does not change."

Amen, Judy. Very thankful for this site ... a light amid an ocean of photography sites that dishonor God with their content. I appreciate your words. Hope you are well!

Thankyou Jenny.

We are living in dangerous times and watching history being made as well as prophecy being fulfilled. It is scary and sobering at the same time.  My daughter said to me yesterday, "Am I wrong for being both scared and undecided about all that is happening in the world today?"  No it isn't wrong to have conflicting emotions.  This is a time to watch, wait and compare what we are seeing with what Biblical teachers are saying.  So many of us avoid the book of Revelation, Ezekiel and Daniel.  It can be so confusing.  Thing is those writers are trying to describe what they see with what they know, way back when these scenarios were revealed to them. Can you imagine John trying to describe a helicopter, or an  air force jet? They had nothing to compare it to.

We have heard for so many years that The second coming is soon...... Still we wait.  I had a family member say You have been saying that for years, and people will still say it long after you are gone!  When we compare end times scripture to todays world we see the escalation of what was prophesied.  To those of you who are interested I have a DayStar movie that I will share here. It is on Heather's computer so I will get it from her to share.

Our DIL was trying to get the back hatch of our vehicle open.  In doing so the back window broke..... I never laughed so hard in a long time.  Not at Liz, but rather the memories of other broken windows in vehicles!  John had a hawk fly into his semi truck window, with the dead bird looking at him and glass, feathers and other stuff all over the place.... It is good to laugh to lighten up the situation.  She feels terrible however as I pointed out no one was hurt and it isn't the end of the world!  I really feel sorry for her, however these things happen especially in the deep freeze we are living with.

Well I really must go, I have an evening appointment and need to plastic the window or figure out another way to get to that appointment...

Have a wonderful week and God Bless you!

A Shelter In the Time of Storm  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/shelter-in-the-time-of-storm.mid)
(Click to hear music)

You have been a shelter from the storm.
Isaiah 25:4

Words: Vernon J. Charlesworth, circa 1880.

Music: Ira D. Sankey, circa 1885

The Lord's our Rock, in Him we hide,
A Shelter in the time of storm;
Secure whatever ill betide,
A Shelter in the time of storm.

Refrain
Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land,
A weary land, a weary land;
Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land,
A Shelter in the time of storm.

A shade by day, defense by night,
A Shelter in the time of storm;
No fears alarm, no foes afright,
A Shelter in the time of storm.

Refrain

The raging storms may round us beat,
A Shelter in the time of storm
We'll never leave our safe retreat,
A Shelter in the time of storm.

Refrain

O Rock divine, O Refuge dear,
A Shelter in the time of storm;
Be Thou our Helper ever near,
A Shelter in the time of storm.

Refrain

From Chris:
"But as many as received Him , to them He gave power, to become the Sons of God, even them that believe on His Name."
John 1.
This  is the great good news of the Kingdom of God that,.. "Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.".  All through the New Testament people received the Saviour into their homes, and for various reasons, some to hear Him, some to study Him, some to thank Him, and Lazarus and family to eat with Him in a safe house of rest. There are still today many reasons why our Saviour is spoken about. People discuss Him, argue about Him, reject Him or throw Him out.
But to those convicted sinners, who know their need, who find an emptiness inside, well to them that gladly receive Him,  He becomes their all in all, He enters in with a peace and a  joy that the world cannot enjoy or understand, translated into new citizens in a new realm with a very gracious Ruler. God bless you.

Hello Judy! Here in Pennsylvania Dutch Country, we had 3 days of winter relief - temperatures in the 60s! That was the bright side. The other side is my husband came down with a terrible stomach bug going around. Had to nurse him back to health especially since he's Type I diabetes. At the same time, the kitchen sink valve decided to spring a leak and the coffee maker broke (of all the nerve) - LOL! It really hasn't been bad at all, just busy. THANK YOU for the David Phelps video link. It's appreciated! Hope you are doing well as well as everyone else in the group!!!

Good Day Jenny! Weird things happen all the time with no conceivable reason. Now the coffee maker, that is just criminal! LOL
We had an unexpected blizzard move into our area yesterday morning, just before the bus run.  Visibility was severely limited.  The weather network said 30% chance of precipitation, shows how much the weather radar can be trusted!!!  Frankly we should have been off the road.  All was well though everyone got to school/home safely.
Today is a lazy day for me.  I have little to do and have determined not to go out, but to relax.

David Phelps is a favourite of mine.  I listen to him often, I find his voice very relaxing.  If you enjoy him I will share more!

John is States side this week, he will be home next weekend.  I look forward to that, we really do enjoy each others company.

I listen to news reports, and read what others have shared and I am reminded of the verse,
Matthew 24:6 KJV
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
We know that we are living in the last days, yet we are not to fear.  God is still in control. Everything is playing out the way He knows, and we are instructed to not fear.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello Judy! Wow, so you guys still have school even in the midst of an unexpected blizzard. That's the way it used  to be here in PA when I was a girl, but now just the suggestion seems to make everyone freak out. The thing is we have state-of-the-art snow removal so there's nothing to fear anymore really. Hope you enjoyed your relaxing day.

Are you a fan of Gaither music as well? I think David was/is a part of them, right? He has a nice voice as you said. I also enjoy Michael Card, Fernando Ortega, Keith Green, and others.

You are so right about Matthew 24:6. My go-tos are "Be still and know that I am God" and "Stand still and see the Salvation of the Lord" whenever things start feeling overwhelming. Yet it is scary because of the uncertainess, but exciting as well to see God's Plan unfolding everyday. When I see images of Ukraine under attack, it makes my heart sad for all the people. We have a Ukrainian church that meets in our church every Sunday after our service is over. They have family and friends over there.

Well, I hope your John is staying safe and well, and I hope the time goes quickly til you're back in each others' company. That is rare these days to enjoy each other. It makes me happy to hear it. My husband is named John as well. Hope your weekend is ending well and hope you have a great week ahead, Judy!

Jenny he was part of the Gaither's and returns at times..

Here is a golden oldie, I remember my Brother Sister and Murray's best friend singing this in our livingroom. I woke up singing it within my spirit today.  Forgot some words so had to find it.  My voice is old and crackly, so I don't sing when people are around.  Thankfully the family were still asleep today!

That video/song is classic Gaither. I always smile at all the joy you can see in everyone's faces.

Did you sing at some point before your voice got "old and crackly"? Lol. I have a terrible voice no matter how much I've tried to understand how to sing. My daughters have beautiful voices. I think they got it from my Mom - for some reason that gene skipped me and went into them. Will never sing out loud in front of anyone and even in church; but on the other hand, I get the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful voices God gave to others around me.

Thanks, Judy, for the link! I appreciated it today.

Jenny - Judy...
I read far better than i sing, i will join your club of not having a good singing voice, ( changing from high pitch to low or vice versa )  i will sing my heart out if other singers are more powerful that will block my singing voice out..but i do sing, and that is what is most important in church..

I am so sorry, Marilyn. Few questions ... How is your driving ability at this point? When is your DMV test? If you're unable to pass the test, will you have any way of obtaining transportation? This is such a blow. Know I am praying for you as you face a lot of uncertainties.

Yes Marilyn You were missed.  I was praying for you and hubby.

This has ben a rough month for Heather and I.
The truckers convoy (Jan 28th) started the cycle we were in. There was a young man very boldly preaching the need for salvation and repentance.  We were very impressed.  A week later he was in our capital city again preaching with boldness.
On the Sunday I invited him to our home for a meal and a night's rest.  We had an enjoyable time talking and sharing.
A week later our son-in-las was really offended by what this man said, causing him to question if he wanted any part of that type of Christianity.  John and I sat down with Heather's husband and talked his concern, feelings through.  I in turn messaged this street preacher (privately) what had occurred.  He took my concerns and posted it publicly with a really scornful response. I was hurt, and to some degree angry, that what I was hoping would be a private conversation turned public.  In the coming days I was attacked in every verbal way possible.  I prayed, and left the incident in God's big hands.
Last week he turned and attacked Heather in her most vulnerable place.  Isn't it interesting that Satan will use the words of a young man, who is preaching with his boldness, to steel, kill, and destroy? John 10:10....
It was a week of her husband (Jon) and I working and rebuilding what had been stolen.  She is coming along, church on Sunday is always helpful, She was built back up on Sunday as well.
I am asking for prayer for this young man, as well as prayer for Heather and Jon her husband.

I am late in posting this month's devotion.  I will get that done in the next day or so....

I just realized I was out on how long this attack was going on.... Well over a month.

One thing I do know..... God can use the words of anyone to bring people to Himself!!

Let It Go..

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation
And it looks like I'm the queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I've tried
Don't let them in, don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know
Well, now they know
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I'm free
Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You'll never see me cry
Here I stand and here I stay
Let the storm rage on
My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I'm never going back, the past is in the past
Let it go, let it go
When I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
