Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

We went to Hugoton around 4:00 yesterday, and helped Abby with some of her packing.  (She should have started two weeks ago!)  Diane made Reuben sandwiches for supper,
then we all started loading boxes into the trailer.  The hardest thing was bringing a large, very heavy dresser up from their basement.  It was solid wood, and even with the eight drawers removed, was all Jeff, Diane and Abby could manage.  Darrel and I didn't try to help with that, knowing how easily we could injure ourselves. After that was done, we came on home.  They got on the road about 8:30 this morning.  Jeff had said they would leave at 5:30, but none of us expected that to happen!  ;)

Today was the first day for the pictures to be taken for the church directory.  I got Beth's hair looking much better, and had taken her a new blouse yesterday.  After they took hers and John's pictures, they took some of all four of us together, then mine and Darrel's.  I was hoping the older photographer would take ours, as he took more time, many more poses, and didn't rush.  The one we got rushed a lot, so I was rather disappointed in ours.  And they wanted us to order and pay today!  Oh, well, it kept us from spending a lot of money.  We only ordered a triple of some of the ones with us all, and 25 Christmas cards with Darrel and me.  John got carried away and spent over $600.00!  :o  And if I hadn't gently talked him out of some of them, he would have been over $900!

Then we ate lunch at Puffy's Pizza, and now I am ready for a Sunday afternoon nap!

The start of another fresh week and I will be leaving in the next 10 minutes to go see my local Doctor for my early 9.am appointment... she asked I come back to see her a months from my last visits of stop breathing episode and my ear pain, throat and chest tightening...I am happy to say, and to tell her, nothing else strange has occurred since apart from my MS setback which all seems to be back to my normal MS routine...I did omit telling her I have been through some teeth work over the last 5-6 months, ( tooth filling, tooth extraction, 2 hygienist cleans, ) she may need to be aware of that...

Well, say what you like but...no one can say I dont get my monies worth, or my allotted time... :P ...We are only allocated a supposedly 10 minute GP slot, Richard in the waiting room thinks my time had run over to 15 minutes but, I touched on as many medical subjects that I can, well you know how it is, one medical issue runs into another... ;D
At least I have said no to previously suggested pills from my once only meeting with MS Consultant of last year.. ( remember this man doesn't intend on seeing me, re, any further appointments.... and they usually see their MS patients once annually only, ) when he last suggested one of two MS pill - popping medications...even my today GP is with me when I told her I want if possible to avoid taking medications mainly because of the side effects, at least we are both in agreement on this one...Anyway she wrote out a prescription and said this is the safer, less harmless option...which we stopped off in the chemist opposite, for a tube of Ibuprofen Gel for my top of leg discomfort...she said give it a go for a week, rub it on three times a day, maybe it will help, or maybe it wont...

Hi everyone.  A bright and sunny morning here in South Carolina.  We will be into the 90's this afternoon as we were yesterday.  We did get some brief periods of rain but not much yesterday and have a higher potential for more rain today.  The only thing on my schedule today is to pick up an online grocery order at Walmart later this morning.

Yesterday I went to Sunday School and then drove home and picked up Pat for Church.  We then went to Ruby Tuesday's for a delicious Sunday meal.  They are having a $13.99 special that is the salad bar, a choice of three entrees, and a dessert.  One of the entree choices was a petite sirloin steak.  So I had that with a side baked potato, the salad bar and topped it all off with a delicious chocolate dessert with cake and ice cream and caramel and chocolate toppings.

Janet, Abby sounds like a typical teenager in not worrying until the last minute to get things ready.  Will she be staying in the dorms or off campus?  Taking heavy furniture back and forth from college doesn't sound like the best alternative.  Wow, those are expensive pictures.  Does John have a lot of family to share pictures with or were they mainly for him?

Jackie, it sounds like you were satisfied with the outcome of your doctor's appointment.  I hope the gel is helpful to you.

Happy Monday!

Larry, Abby, along with two other girls, has rented a house, which they hope to live in until they finish college.  This means she will be staying in Manhattan over the summers, because they have to pay rent year around.  So she is hoping to find a job that she can work during school, then full time over the summer(s).  Thus the reason for needing furniture.

John was buying photos for his siblings, (he has four) as well as himself.  But like I said, he got carried away!  :-\  He was going to order 8 X 10s for each of them, at $40 each, so I asked him if they wouldn't be just as happy with a smaller size, so he took 5 X 7s instead.  Yikes!

Have you all seen how the media and others are trying to get people to have chips implanted in their children "for safety"?  They are surely paving the way for people to accept the mark of the beast!  I'm often happy that we are the age we are, as the future seems to hold much that I don't want to live through.  But there are always the younger ones to be concerned about--no danger of our prayer lists getting shorter!

I texted the young man who said he wanted painting lessons, and now he says he is so busy it's not possible to do.  I learned a long time ago that there are some things you will never HAVE time for, you can only TAKE time to do them!  Sigh......

Pat, if you peek in, please let us know how you are doing!  I love you so much, and want to stay in touch!

It was raining when time to go to the gym, so Darrel used that as an excuse not to go.  We need to be more faithful about going!

I think this is a perfect day to go into my studio and paint!   :)

Larry, your dessert yesterday sounds scrumtious!   ^-^

We woke to a wonderful rain this morning.  I love listening to the drumming of rain on our metal roof,
which I only hear while in my little prayer room.  Darrel checked the gauge a while ago and we have an inch and a half!!  :D  It got into the 90s on Saturday, but has otherwise been delightfully cool, not our usual August weather, for sure!  I'm sure we can expect more hot weather, but I choose to thoroughly enjoy this while it lasts, and be grateful.

Jackie, I didn't know they made Ibuprofen in a cream.  Hope it helps!

Good morning I have read all your posts but will not comment on them other to say that I read them.  I am sitting here trying to type with a large cat in my lap purring away and Freckles laying on the floor at my side.

We had an event yesterday at the Cascade Farms store with our dogs, (Furry Friends), It was to benefit the local shelter. I had to leave church just as communion was beginning to be served so I could get  Freckles ready to go.

Everything is going well with our dog-sitting.  I slept in until 8 AM and am sure that I haven't slept in this late even as a baby.   ;)  It is foggy and some rain all this week.  Loki is 14 years young.  He is keeping an eye on the door all the time - waiting for Phil to come home and he does come over for a little attention from us.

Ruth Ann:  It is just wonderful that the sermons are recorded and can be even watched as well over the internet.  Wish my bible study would have that feature as well - I have asked twice for that treat but they don't plan on it right now.

Jackie:  Nice that you will be having the vicar over.  Perhaps there is some little job you could volunteer to do in your home?  Stuffing envelopes,  editing papers of any sort?  Just a thought.  Another idea - could you telephone members who are shut-ins?  Just to check on their welfare for the church? Then, you could report results back to the church office either by phone or email.
