Hi everyone.  It looks like we will be getting up to 87 degrees this afternoon with only a slight chance of rain.  Today is the day for the housekeeper to be here and then we plan on going out to eat in the late afternoon for our main meal and as far as I know there is nothing else on the calendar for today. I do have to contact my cable provider (Comcast) this morning as my special pricing ends on the 24th for my internet service.  I learned the other day that my bill will likely be increasing $20/month even with their best plan unless something has changed in the last couple of weeks. I also need to check with Dish as my two-year contract with them has expired or will in a few days.

It was nice to sign in here this morning and see all the postings as the last few days have been very boring here with only my daily postings.

Carol, unfortunately school shootings seem to be on the increase but at least not to the magnitude of the Columbine.  That was a terrible tragedy. That was quite an experience you had with all the flowers delivered to your house.  It sounds like you would be all set for a visit to Minnesota.

Marilyn, I am sure your hospital visit with Freckles was well received yesterday and was also a source of joy for you and Freckles.

Ruth Ann, will you still need to make daily visits to your SIL's place to check on her.  I hope she will soon gain strength. Hope your pancreatitis only pays a short visit and soon will be gone.

Jackie, I hope you are holding on to your walker with your leg doing its own thing. Glad your weather is changing for the better.

Well sadly I have just this minute heard about the person that last nights ambulance went to...It was Allan who has people divided on our site as he is someone who says it like it is, he even had his parkhome painted a deep blue, and not the usual pastel shades, which caused a bit of a stir, there was even a petition being sent around,...but I liked him for that reason, as what you see with him was what you got, very blunt and outspoken, well sadly I have now learnt that he has died, he died in hospital after the ambulance had worked on him for one and a half hours inside his home, so someone on our site told Richard this evening whilst out walking Toby...I feel very sad as I really did like him, although his attitude may have not been to everyone's liking...The last time I had spoken to him was exactly one week, and almost to the same time that we had taken our Benji to the vets to say goodbye end of last November, where we had passed and stopped briefly on our uphill outbound road, where we wound down our car windows and I had said to him, " you did hear that we lost our Benji a week ago today? and if you can, at 5.40pm please say a prayer on behalf of our Benji and think of him, " he said that he had, and he will....then Richard chimed in by saying in front of him,  that maybe Allan is not religious...causing me to reply, " that not everyone is like you "... that was the last time I saw him to speak with...Well I wont be seeing his car being very slowly driven uphill with his dog Coffee leaping out and running along behind it any more, during the winter months when the trees and hedges were bare I could look out my kitchen at the back and look the length of our private parksite road, and smile as his dog wandered along behind, occasionally stopping to have a sniff, before he got to the top and the opening to the rolling hills one side, and the deep valley to the other.....

I forgot to add....well this evening " I am saying a prayer for you Allen..."

Another hindsight I forgot to add was, the first time I was introduced to Allan, he stopped in his car whilst on site, he told me his name and told me everybody knows him by the name of " miserable git.." which made me smile and kindof broke the ice, he also mentioned his daughter has MS, and was losing her sight, so he understood where I was coming from, I warmed to him straight away...this has come as quite a shock to me that he has died, although the ambulance had been called to him a couple of times during the 12 months we have lived here and  took him to hospital where he suffered duodenal ulcer complications, and gallstone blocked bile duct, ( two separate hospital trips, ) if I remember something had burst...I dont know if our site comes together regarding situations like this, re, donations  collections for reef - flowers, and details on attending his funeral, we shall wait and see...
R.I.P....Allan, may our God now look after you...

Hi everyone.  It is another beautiful day that should reach into the upper 80's this afternoon.  When I got up this morning Pat had already gotten up and fixed her own breakfast by microwaving a couple of the sausage muffins, fixing her coffee and having a little bowl of fresh strawberries. So before I had breakfast I grated a pound of cheddar cheese and cleaned and cut up a big stock of celery.  I then had my breakfast and hope that in a little while I will feel up to fixing some coleslaw for our dinner tonight.  We have a rotisserie chicken in the refrigerator and some fresh ear corn so some coleslaw will make for a pretty good dinner tonight.  I don't plan on going anywhere today.  Yesterday evening we did go to Ruby Tuesday's and had a good dinner.

Jackie, sorry to read of the loss of your new friend and neighbor.  It takes all types of personalities to make this an interesting world.  It sounds like Allan walked his own path without much regard for what other might think.   It sounds like he delighted in being a bit of a maverick.

Carol

Prayers for all who have medical concerns - may your pains be eased.

It is raining on the grass and shows snow on the wood fence.  Our daughter and SIL are coming for a visit today, for sure they have snow at their home because they are closer to the foothills and a bit higher altitude.  Springtime in the Rockies - do you remember the song?  Weather is always up and down with real springtime weather a tease some days.  Some areas in the mountains have over 300 inches of snow and yet we are low in moisture here.

Grateful for daughter and SIL taking the time to visit -  :)

Larry Hanna....you are sure a dab hand at fixing breakfasts and foods for your supper, I guess you have learnt doing that as you go along, when giving a helping hand to when Pat had not been feeling up to doing it herself...

Well for once Richard has tickets for the theatre tonight, and a show that I said I would like to see, think it is on next week, well this all sounds good but, it is a good two to three years since the last time he took me anywhere in the evening apart from my monthly MS group meeting and now he doesn't stay there with me...I dont know what I am seeing tonight, I shan't look it up as it will spoil the surprise, just that he told me he is sure that I will enjoy it...anyway it will get me out for once...and on that positive note, my top of leg movements, and stomach bloat has eased compared to my last few days...so should be more confident out walking, causing less discomfort..

Carol....thank you for your prayers...

Sorry I have missed a few days here!  I have been using my iPad to read email and FB, to help my neck problem.  I still need computer glasses, but don't want to pay the price they would cost locally.  :-\  So I hadn't been on computer for a few days.  I really must do better!

Yes, Larry, the doctor who fired Darrel is our local doctor.  I saw him yesterday and he was really nice to me, and very concerned because I have been having dizzy spells.  So I now have an appointment with a cardiologist for May 17.  I'm not worried about it, but those dizzy spells have been happening more and more often.  I had several of them today.  So I guess it does need to be checked out.

Carol, I know what you mean about getting worn out.  I'm wondering  where all my energy has gone.  Not fun (in some aspects) getting old!

Jackie, I hope you had a really fun evening out!  Good for you to go out and enjoy yourselves!

Ruth Ann I hope you are feeling better!

Larry, it is aggravating when you make mistakes like that and cause a mess to clean up, isn't it?  It sure happens to me sometimes!  :-[

They are having a show called Spring Fling here this weekend.  It's out at our big Civic Center, and they have all kinds of booths with different things.  I walked around for two hours and didn't buy anything, but just enjoyed visiting with friends I hadn't seen in a long time, and a few vendors I'd never met before.  I had a good time, but then had four dizzy spells and decided I needed to get myself home!  Those spells only last a few seconds, but sometimes I have to grab hold of something to make sure I don't fall.  Phooey.   :(

I have a bandaid on my index finger and cannot believe how many mistakes it is causing me to make as I type!  Crazy!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Hi everyone.  It is another lovely Sunday morning here in South Carolina. I really have nothing to write about yesterday as spent almost the entire day laying in the bed as just couldn't get rid of the dull pain in my chest.  I did get a good nights sleep and got up feeling better this morning.  I fixed Pat's breakfast and emptied the dishwasher and am now having my breakfast.  I am very hopeful that I will be up to attending Sunday School and Church this morning.  Pat will not be attending. I will pick up something for our lunch and that will be it for today.  I plan on watching the end of the golf tournament down in Texas in the late afternoon.

Carol, I do remember the song you mentioned.  With all that snow in some parts of the mountains will there likely be a lot of flooding in some areas as it melts? Glad you could visit with your daughter and SIL.

Jackie, I had to learn some cooking skills as Pat just wasn't up to it for most of this last year.  She has started to do more in the kitchen.  I am not sure she is feeling any better but I think she is trying to spare me when I am not feeling good.  Great that you were able to attend the show that you want to see.  I love live theater but am doubtful we will be going to shows in the future. Several times over the years we have had season tickets.  That is now out of the question as who knows how either of us will be feeling on a given day and need to remain flexible and the tickets are too expensive not to use them.

Janet, isn't the iPad a handy device?  I do hope your neck is feeling better.  Glad you are going to get checked out for the dizzy spells.  While I am a pretty good typist I only use one finger to type using the keyboard on the iPad or the iPhone. I seem to make a lot of mistakes on the iPhone as the keys are so small and often hit the one next to the one I want.

Janet

Hello!  We are just home from church, and since we haven't gotten into a Sunday School class since the pastor stopped teaching the one we were in and it "dissolved", we get home early!  Our Municipal Judge brought the message this morning, and she is so good!  I always enjoy hearing her speak.  She is my partner on the visitation teams for the care home, too, and she's a delightful person.  I always enjoy being around her.

When they have the children's time, called Steps of Faith, I so enjoy seeing all the little ones coming so eagerly to the front.  And we all learn from their little lessons, too.  I guess I'm still a child at heartT  ;)

Larry, I hope your energy allowed you to attend church today.  Enjoy the golf tournament!

John and Beth were at church this morning.  I just feel so bad for her that she can no longer speak.  It seems cruel to me that she can't have at least that ability!  So frustrating for her!

They are having a Spring Tea for the ladies and girls of the church, and guests, this afternoon.  They asked us to wear hats if we have them.  I tried on some of mine this morning, and Darrel's expression said, "Uh, that does not look good on you!"  So I'm trying to figure out what to wear.   :-\ :-\  Not the most pressing problem in the world, I know!

I want to go back out to Spring Fling and get a couple things I saw, so I'd better be about getting with it!

Hello and blessings to all who pop in here today!   <3

Good Day to all - Good Sunday especially to our PAT!  Wherever you are - you are not forgotten.  May you be comfortable and know that we pray for you - pain be gone!

Frozen chicken is thawing and I am going to try to make a crock pot dish with French Provence seasoning.  this will be another trial meal.  Don is used to my off-the-cuff meals.  Sometimes good, sometimes not.

Janet:  Be assured that having Beth just attend your church is helping people keeping her in their thoughts and prayers.  She is a testament.  As for dizzy - are you taking in enough water?  I mean we are supposed to down about six glasses per day and this is a lot.

As for the snowfall, there will most likely be floods with this pack and the foothills areas and such will be on alerts.  We  are quite a distance but have seen the ravine in back filled to the brim so that is when the authorities come out and stare at the water level.   ^-^

Don and one of the boys went to find a part for a bathroom drain - .

Hello everyone. It sure has been a few days since I last posted.  Our church is getting ready for the annual Rummage sale next Saturday I am thinking that I really need to go see what they have. I am looking for a dress to wear to the summer wedding at Black Butte Ranch. Keith's youngest son is getting married on Aug. 22 at the same time as the Solar Eclipse. He planned it that way. So if I can find a dress my next search will be for a floppy summer hat. Freckles is also going to the wedding as my Service Dog.

This is the next song I will be singing at  church very soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nJ6wQpLmuo

Pastlkr wants me to sing this versikon and I can do both  Penrod's and Phelp's parts easily.

Hi everyone on a cloudy and rainy morning here in South Carolina.  We had a nice shower early this morning and I don't know about the night as didn't stay awake to find out.  I have a batch of Sausage Muffins in the oven as Pat finished her last muffins this morning.  I am getting the process down to where it doesn't take very long and I put things away as I use them.  I am resting while they cook and later this morning want to make up some coleslaw, which I have mentioned for a couple of days.  If I feel up to it I plan on attending my Monday noon meeting but I have a couple of hours before needing to make that decision.

I did get to Sunday School and Church yesterday.  We had things here for lunch so didn't have to stop and get something to bring home.  After lunch I turned on Don's radio program and closed my eyes.  I don't think I heard all the pieces that were played but enjoyed what I heard.  I got up and watched the end of the golf match.  It was nice to see someone win on his 180 or 181st try.  That is determination.

I just read the following devotional thought this morning and want to share it for those who care to read it:

The Great Physician
(Author Unknown)

Welcome to the Great Physician
Office hours are as you come,
He's a Specialist in all problems
And His day is never done.

He can heal a heart that's broken
He can mend the spirit, too,
No matter what your ailment
He does have the cure for you.

His fee for service never alters
He serves rich and poor as well,
He's our one chance for Salvation,
He alone saves us from Hell.

There's no fee for services rendered
All He asks is that we believe,
That He bled and died to save us
And all His blessings we receive.

Do you have a special problem
That is troubling you this hour?
Then just simply leave it with Him
You can find no greater power.

Don't delay in seeking treatment
Please, my friend, don't hesitate,
For His office is soon closing
And He'll shut and lock the gate.

I wouldn't want you to suffer
While the Doctor's so close by,
Your whole life will be much better
If my Physician you will try.

Janet, I always enjoy the children's sermon as you never know what the little ones will say.  In our Minister's article in our weekly newsletter this last week he wrote about being so shocked when the week before a little child asked him what the children's sermon was going to be about that day.  He was shocked as apparently in his over 30 years in the pulpit and giving children's sermons that was a first for him.  He wrote that he doubted the children cared or remember what the children's sermon was about and that he was going to have to rethink the matter. There is one little boy who always wants to sit right next to the preacher and you never know what he is going to say.    I think it is remarkable that Beth is still able to attend the church service.  I am sure she is an inspiration to many in the congregation. Hope you enjoyed the Spring Tea.

Carol, over the years Pat has tried different variations on recipes and generally they are quite good.   I bet yours are good more often than not.

Marilyn, hope you find the garment you want at the Rummage sale. I really like that song you are planning on singing soon at your church.  I really like listening to the Gaithers and their featured singers.

Janet

Another Monday is half gone already!  Boy, the weeks fly by!

I enjoyed the Spring Tea!  :)  Before I went I did go back out to the Spring Fling.  This morning, Pioneer Electric called to tell me my name was drawn for a prize, and I could come out and pick it up.  I did, and it's a nice lamp, with a glass shade, quite heavy; a desk lamp.  So that's a nice surprise!

Darrel had me to re-book the trips we cancelled yesterday, then this morning he said he doesn't think we need to spend the money right now.  We have until May 7 to cancel and get a refund of our deposit.  It's okay with me if we wait until later to go, as I am wanting to go to Florida to grandson Mark's around that time anyway.  (October)  We are going on a bus trip to Kentucky in Sept. to see Noah's Ark and the Creation Museum.

Carol, I try to drink enough water but am aware that a lot of days I don't.  Will try to do better!

Marilyn, I can sing in those ranges easily, too.  I'm thinking of joining the choir.  I have been asked to join, and since Darrel is in it, I have to wait on him while they practice anyway, so I might as well.  They do need more voices.

Yes, Pat!  Sending blessings your way again today!  <3

I want to get the hose out, hook it up and turn the water back on so I can water some plants out front.  The time has come once again!

Janet we don;t have a choir. We have one lady who plays the guitar and leads worship, and Me who does solos from time to time. Our pastor plays several instruments, piano, guitar, Ukulele and electronic keyboard. Sometimes he  jhoins Debbie . If Debbie isn't there then he plays the piano or we choose songs from a list on the computer.

Hi, friends,

Yes, I still try to go to my sister in law's apartment often, but not daily now. Yes, the pancreatitis has gone into hiding again, thank goodness.

I used to be active in our church's music program, so remember fondly praying for inspiration for the best musical selections to complement the theme of the worship service.

It's so good to hear from y'all again. May God's richest blessings be with our group today.

Love,
Ruth Ann

Hi everyone.  We are going to have an overcast day getting up only into the mid-70's with no predicted rain.  My big activity for today is our monthly Adult Fellowship luncheon at Church.  Our entertainment today should be fun as it is two men, one plays the piano and the other the tuba.  They sing and tell jokes and apparently are very entertaining.  I am going to take the rest of the morning very easy as yesterday worked a little too much and wasn't up to attending my noon meeting.

Janet, you seem to be very lucky in the drawings at the Pioneer Electric.  If my memory is correct you have won some nice things there before.  That sounds like a very nice lamp.  It sounds like you and Darrel have fun planning trips for the future.  I understand the Noah's Ark is really something to see.  If you are up to it I am sure you will enjoy singing in your church choir.  I don't recall you mentioning that Darrel sang in the choir.  How big a choir is it?  Our church has a good sized choir, probably around 40 or so singers.  Are you a soprano or alto?

Marilyn, it sounds like you have a very talented pastor. How big a congregation do you have in your church?

Ruth Ann, was happy to see you indicate the pancreatitis has gone into hiding again.  I really miss not being able to sing in the choir anymore but found it was just leaving me drained as it takes a lot of energy to sing.  Years ago we were charter members of a new Methodist church that was starting in our area.  We met in a double-wide mobile home and did have a small organ.  On occasion I would play for the services.  I also did that a lot as I was growing up in my home church if the regular pianist wasn't available.

Carol

We are going to buy license plates for a car today - and wondering how long the lines will be after lunchtime.  Wishing the flow of newcomers would trickle down here.   Houses are still selling in one day - no matter what is available.

The spices in the French Provence dish were just OK - the taste was nice but little shards of it just did not soften even after soaking them for hours,  so that wasn't good.  Oh, well - I tried.   ;)

Tonight is quilting - way across town.   :)

Marilyn

Larry our church has approximately 40 me3mbers. It is a small church located inside a building that has a few offices.we have suite #4. There is the main room as the sanctuary. a kitchen with a small foryer leading to that, 1 classroom, a small music room where the instruments are stored and of course the restrooms.

Keith goes back to the Dr. today to check the results of his latest PSA testing then tomorrow he goes back to the tyt clinic tor another peripheral vision test. It is a very busy week for us.

Larry, Darrel just recently joined the choir.  He was always in Boys' Glee Club and mixed choir in High School.  There are only about ten people in the choir now; not many for a congregation averaging 110-150.  They used to have a large choir, and several who played piano and organ.  Now they only have a pianist once in a while (I think they pay her on those occasions, as she isn't a member) and the pastor plays guitar the rest of the time.  Sometimes my friend Lou Ann plays guitar as well.  I guess not that many people take piano lessons now and stick with it, which makes me sad.  I am a soprano, but not a  really high one.

Darrel and I went to Hooker and Liberal today.  In Liberal we tried a new Vietnamese restaurant.  I had Chicken Clay Pot and Darrel had Chicken Fried Rice.
Mine was spicy and his was mild.  I teased the waiter that if I ate a clay pot, I might break my teeth.  He began to explain to me that the food was COOKED in the pot--then he saw my grin and knew I was teasing him.  I know him slightly as he is the husband of the gal who has been doing my nails.  In fact, the first time Abby and I went to Hooker, he did my pedicure!   :)  His brother just opened the restaurant and Kevin was helping him as he is short-handed.

Carol, I got our car tags a couple weeks ago.  That's a real pinch in the pocketbook!  But I didn't have to wait at all, and the girl was really quick in doing it.

Ruth Ann, good to read you are feeling better!

I didn't make it in to see Beth and John today, so that will be on my agenda tomorrow.  I do not miss many days.  I'm reading them Frank Peretti's book Wounded Spirits, as I felt they can both relate.  John got a new computer so he doesn't listen now.  he's on that thing ALL the time!!  I know he needs something to do while there with her, but she is starting to feel neglected as she can barely get his attention now.  God love 'em.

Talk to you fine folks tomorrow!

Hi everyone on a beautiful and sunny morning.  We will be getting up to around 85 degrees this afternoon.

I will probably stay home today until late this afternoon when I will go to the Church for our Wednesday night dinner and expect Scott and Jennifer to come and eat with me.  Then they will be out to visit with us for awhile.  Pat is planning on attending her craft group at Church this morning and will stop by the beauty shop for a haircut on her way home.  She got up before I did this morning and prepared her own breakfast.

Yesterday I did attend the Adult Fellowship meeting at the Church.  We had a basil tomato soup and salad with dessert.  The program was the piano and tuba duo and they made a very pleasing combo.  The man playing the piano was probably 80 and the other man probably in his late 60's or early 70's. They said they were both self-taught.  They played a combination of secular music and a couple of old standards.  The pianist played in a very upbeat, almost boogie  woogie style.  It was a very enjoyable program.

Carol, I hope the line wasn't too long as you got your new license plates.  Our county opened a satellite government office in our little town city hall and that is where I went to pay my taxes on the car this year and was shocked when the new tags were on the receipt.  It didn't take me more than five minutes and didn't have to make the trip to the county seat.  The read yesterday that there is a real shortage of homes and it is really a sellers market all over the country now.  The house next to us was under contract within a week or two after going on the market.  We should have some new neighbors soon and I saw a couple of cars there yesterday.

Marilyn, your church sounds like it is about the size of the small church I grew up attending in our little town.  I hope Keith got good results from his PSA test and will also have good results today on his peripheral vision test.

Janet, it sounds like you are needed in your church choir.  Do you have a choir director?  Our church where I attended growing up was too small to have a full-time minister so he had to teach at the high school.  He did not serve any other church and was at our little church for many years.  I don't think we have ever eaten at a Vietnamese restaurant.  I am sorry to read that John gets so occupied with his new computer that he may be neglecting Beth.

JudyB

John had his surgery on Monday. He has done very well and looks like he will be coming home tomorrow.  I am going to set up a bed in a downstairs room so he doesn't have to climb the stairs when he needs to lay down.  He has said he is in less back pain now after surgery than he was before and that includes incision pain.  He is getting all the tubing (IV and Pump) out today as well as the catheter. He has been walking around as well.  Life will be much easier with him home!

Judy....it is good seeing a posting from you....I, being quite new on this forum, have not been following your John's medical issues, but, happy to read all went well and he is feeling less pain and discomfort since his surgery procedure...Yes all we crave is an easier life, well that, and a blessed life, that is both calming and tranquil, and oozing with positivity, that things WILL get better.....well that will do for a start...

Right now, I am taking a break from cleaning the kitchen floor and vacuuming the carpet.  Uff da as mom would say.

A neighborhood friend picked me up for bible study this morning.  In two more weeks, they will close that class for the summer.  Tomorrow, we will drive to Fort Collins and plan a late lunch with two of the grandchildren.  We will have overnight guests any time now before the month of May. Working on the latest quilt takes a backseat at times and then it is hard to get in the groove again.  Just to keep something going, I am hand sewing some binding on pot holders.  All this fabric is leftover scraps from larger items so not much goes to waste.  I use one layer of ironing board fabric between the two battings and that keeps a persons hands from getting scorched.  (Larry - Pat knows what I mean about that thin insulated fabric).

JUDY:  Prayers for John's recovery - it is very nice to read that is pain is lessening.

Judy!  What a pleasant surprise to see  post from you.  I recall that John had een having back problems, but I didn't know he was scheduled for surgery.  Let him know I'll be praying for quick recovery and complete elimination of pain.

I've missed seeing you in here. I know you've been very busy but I hope this means you'll be coming around more often again.

Hi everyone.  We start today off on an overcast note.  We do have a 40% chance of rain today and will be getting up into the high 80's this afternoon. After a pretty much wasted day yesterday spent mainly laying down resting, I feel more alert.  I will be picking up my friend at the assisted living facility and we will go downtown for coffee with other friends.  I will take him home, as usual, afterwards and if I still have enough energy will go back downtown to attend the Wisdom group with the pastor.  That will be it for today unless Pat wants to go out to eat this evening.  We did have a nice visit with Scott and Jennifer after our dinner at Church last evening.

Judy, good to read that John's surgery is now over and he is in the recovery mode.  I sure hope this helps stem the pain he has been suffering.  I hope you have been feeling well.  It has been a long time since we have heard from you and both you and John have been missed from our discussion here.

Jackie, glad you benefited from the "Great Physician" piece I posted.  I also thought it was very good.

Carol, last night was the last night for Wednesday night classes and other activities at our Church except for the Wednesday night dinners, which continue through May.  Pat has made many pot holders using the fabric you mentioned.  She also wastes no material  and finds some use for the small pieces.  I bought a pair of those silicon oven gloves to use when I have to take things out of the oven and they work very well.  I also found they work great for shucking sweet corn that Pat baked in the oven last week and they helped remove the silks from the hot ears.

Jeanne, I agree with you on missing Judy and John's postings.

Carol

I do love the mid-week bible study.  One dear and strong in faith woman is such an inspiration to all of us - she lost her daughter & grands in a family shooting and is such an inspiration - not that it still does not hurt.

Yesterday, Don drove to the hearing clinic and after he has used these seemingly poor hearing aides, he was told there was a call from the manufacturer that they had not removed a coating which has really held back their usefulness for many months.  what a relief that the aides are much better and are now helpful.  We have been sad from thinking his hearing had been so poor.  Very very thankful.

Larry:  resting for you is mending time - never wasted.  Tell Pat that making pot holders and little things is relaxing  too - I don't have to think about the pattern & not wasting fabric.  I bought something over the internet last year - it is a foam covered contoured seat that forces a person to sit really straight.  It did help when I used it.

We plan to meet with two grands in Fort Collins today - a late lunch.  Rain and possibly snow is in the forecast.

I love this neighborhood - a friend dropped a book off for me - and she wants me to return to the book club.  That is not on my agenda - I am much too far behind in the To Do List and that includes many hours yet on the never-ending quilt.

Janet

Larry, please forgive me for not mentioning that I, too, enjoyed "The Great Physician."  Sometimes things just slip my mind  (Maybe it's coated with Teflon?)

It is cold here today!  Brrr! Only 40 this morning and now up to 55!  After days in the 80s that's quite a drop!  Some snow is predicted for the weekend!  :o

Judy, please give John my get well wishes, too.  I didn't even know he was having the back problem.  Not fun, but glad his surgery is now in the rear-view mirror!  Don't forget to take care of Judy as you take care of John!

Carol, I think I'm glad I never got into quilting, as it takes such a long time.  I know those who do it really enjoy it, though.  I used to sew so much when my girls were young, but the last garment I made was a dress for Abby when she was a baby--and she is 19 now!  So glad they discovered what the problem was with Don's hearing aids!  And he's had trouble with them all this time!  Better late than never, I guess, but it really shouldn't have happened.

Darrel and I both have appointments with the heart doctor on May 15; he to get a holtor monitor and I to have an echocardiogram.  I'm expecting good reports for both of us!

Larry, next week will be our last Wednesday night supper until next Fall.  It is really a nice program, and I will miss visiting with friends on those nights.
I went in to listen to them rehearse, and the choir director (yes, we have one--volunteer) said, "Come on up and sing with us, Janet!"  So I did.  There were three men and five women there last night.  Not very many!

I want to run to town to meet with the gals at the library for a bit.  Talk to you all later!

Hi everyone.  We have another overcast day like we had all day yesterday but we should see the sun later and get up to 91 degrees.  I did go to coffee yesterday but another friend offered to take my friend back to his assisted living facility so I was able to go directly up the street about three blocks to attend the Wisdom group at the Church.  I then stopped at Aldi's for a few items we needed.  Today I will go to Walmart to pick up Pat's online grocery order in a little while.  As far as I know now that will be it for today.  The yard people are here already this morning trimming, mowing and blowing the grass off of the hard surfaces.

Carol,  it is bad enough to lose a family member by illness or old age but having your family members murdered is almost too much to comprehend although I know these things happen probably everyday.  Sure hope that the hearing aids now do the job they were designed to do.  To bad the technical glitch probably caused many persons to struggle with hearing when it wasn't necessary.  Hope you didn't run into snow on your trip to Fort Collins yesterday.

Janet, I thought nothing about folks not mentioning that piece or anything else I may post so please don't be concerned about it.  I will understand things slipping our minds.  :)  Pat has enjoyed many hours related to her interest in quilting whether it is actually doing it or looking at quilting videos and websites. I am so glad she has an interest and one she can pursue while sitting in her easy chair if she doesn't feel up to actually sewing.  Right now she has to limit her sewing to a few minutes at a time.  Hope you both get good results from you heart doctor.  It is a two for one day for you but sure it won't be a two for one bill.  I hope you enjoyed singing with the choir.  I think most Church choirs probably have more women than men.  We are fortunate that several of the men in our Church choir have very fine voices.

Please let's remember to keep our Pat in our prayers.  She is having a lot of severe pain and the prednisone, which seems to be the only thing to lessen it, has been gradually reduced until now it looks like she won't be getting any more. She is getting little sleeping to none at all, and her physical strength has just about deserted her, too.
