"But the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned unto fables." 2 Tim 4.
If ever God was talking about a certain time He is most certainly talking about today. Name it and claim it false doctrine is rife, and an abomination. You notice that God says that ..they shall Heap up to themselves.. They cannot get enough of this teaching, they want to be healthy, wealthy, and blessed with all they need, and the more teachers they have the better they feel, and if all these "teachers" say it then it must be right. God says that they will.. "Not endure sound doctrine." . That is correct, because the sound Bible doctrine does not promise health and wealth!
Ask the Christians in Afghanistan today where their health and wealth beliefs are, when you see people being butchered for their faith in Jesus Christ then you see what a mockery it is to say that God wants you to.. "Have your best life now" .. J Osteen.
Many believers over there in the coming months will go to be with their Lord, the evil Taliban shall see to that.
Dear God have mercy on the deluded blind following the blind.

I am to be collected by car, just as well as my PP-MS body is in a mess but just so thankful i am still going to our once a week church hall prayer-cup of tea-knitting and jigsaw small group, it gets me out for a couple of hours and amongst people..

Hello from filthy air in Denver, Colorado.  Fires have been burning in the mountains for months now and we are in desperate need of snow to douse those fire sites.  Once, we were the worlds worse air quality and just a bit ago, the 4th worse in the world.  We wear masks outdoors not only for the wicked virus but for air pollution as well.  Plus, we are the mile high city and air here is thinner than a lot of where you live.

Good news - our bible study gals have all had vaccines and we meet in confidence. Next week, I am scheduled for a much wanted 3rd.( booster) shot.  That should be the end but the way people are acting I won't be surprised if this goes on forever.

My quilting group meets here next month - nothing stops these women from driving across town for a gathering and a show & tell.   :) I think I will bake almond rusks and serve a bit of ice cream.

Yes, Larry is certainly missed.  I am glad that I was fortunate to "meet" him in this spot of friendship. Prayers for Christians trapped in the evil countries.

Carol Did you get the Phizer shots?

I am now wearing a heart monitor for 2 weeks, to see how often my heart goes into A-Fib.

The air here on the northern California coast hasn't been too bad there have been days when we are in the moderate  zone. If the wind blows in from the east it changes everything. I do wear my mask while out walking the dogs. My Freckles now has to take a drug for incontinence for 15 days. I hope she doesn't have to take it any longer.

I had to get off the 'puter and come to this place of peace.  Another problem with my medical site.  Gone are the days of just talking to the doctor's office.Cranky me!

I had the Trade Center remembrance on t.v. all morning.  A pilot from this area was on one of the highjacked  planes.  It is too sad to watch very much.

The little wild rabbit(Chi Chi) was out front yesterday and I have was able to show a neighbor.  So they won't think I have gone batty talking to a shrub.

Marilyn:  I have the Phizer shots and this is the 3rd. It will be interesting if this is the actual final shot.  Prayers for your test.

Good to hear from all of you. I am going to church tomorrow, first time in a 19 months.  I am soo needing the communion of the saints.  With all the world turmoil I am saying "Even so come Lord Jesus."
John and Doug are stuck in Nevada.  their truck has had an issue the entire trip and finally quit. They were waiting for another truck to switch trailers with..... That truck had an accident.  Parked in Barstow another truck hit it and it is undrivable.... So John and Doug sit and wait.
I have been struggling health wise, a lot of pain around the rib cage. The Dr. thinks there is some internal bruising.  "Give it time!" he said.
We have a T storm going on.  Even the dogs didn't want to go out.  I spent a couple of hours with a good friend. and the sky was sunny and bright. My how things change!
I'm off to bed G'nite all

Carol I saw this on Facebook...Thought of you!

Friends who are living in the smoke from the fires, keep a pot of clove water simmering. It cleans the air in your home; and cloves are a powerful antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory for the respiratory system. Cloves will also boost your immune system, and alleviate nausea.
The picture with is looks to be about a tablespoon full..

Judy:  I am so happy that you could return to church.  I believe both of us can return in a few weeks after getting the 3rd. shot.  They put a weekly message with some music on the internet . Thank you for thinking of us in filthy air - I will try that clove water.  So sorry for the truck problems - I will say a prayer for a quick and not too costly repair.

A bit of rain is predicted - snow in the mountains.  Hooray!  We need clean air and we need a cool down to normal temperatures.

Judy:  I must say this - can you get a 2nd. opinion for your side pain?  I have a weird problem and have to do a daily exercise or that area becomes painful so it is doable now but I shudder to think of my aging and doing that floor exercise.  I will need a crane to lift we off the floor.   ::)

I've been quiet for a while, but I've been here almost daily to check up on y'all.  I have to confess to being stupidly scammed and I am really embarrassed about that.  Please don't start in about what I should've known or done. I've already heard all that and kicked myself over and over.  Hindsight is really something great and, looking back, I can see all the red flags. As I told my granddaughter: "I should've done a lot of things differently but I didn't and I don't want to talk about it"  My daughter said "Mom, you're just too trusting." and maybe that's true but what's done is done and I'm left with cleaning up the mess.  I have a new bank card/password coming and I've changed my password on several accounts, and my wounds are beginning to heal.  I believe, in time, everything will be back to as near normal as possible.

I appreciate all of you, my friends, and trust things are going well for you.  My daughter, in California, says the air is so thick with smoke from the wild fires that it can be tasted.  Makes me even more grateful to be living here on the coast of Oregon! Our Governor has us wearing masks all the time -- inside and outside whenever social distancing is not possible. I don't leave home much but I wear a mask when I occasionally go to the store for groceries.

Jane Walker...
...i am not going to add to your misery or lecture, you have been through enugh already but, i will add an old idiom my father often said to me, " what goes around, comes around " those who have done this to you will get their comeuppance, sooner or later...God will take care of that, " you mark my words, " as my father would say...

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs

Timothy 6:9-10

Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty

I had the 3rd covid shot and yesterday had a flu shot.  They said it was OK to have the flu shot right after the covid shot.  I am one walking specimen.

We just had a phone message from grandson who is eating pizza in Duluth Minnesota (Don's home town) and g-son is solo flying to Mackinac Island now.  That is on Lake Superior.

One of the boys drove us to the huge virus shot distribution center and we had been told to ask if they had extra vaccine so we were able to fit Don in for his shot as well.  Shame that people make these appointments and never show.

Our monthly bible study is next week and I need to read the lesson.  Everyone is enjoying the Max Lucado book.

Take care

I feel like I am the "
chatty "one in a quiet house.  Please let us know what is happening in your area - we do care and pray for everyone.

We are looking forward to next week when our daughter and SIL  dive here for a walk in a nearby park.  Really, they are just checking on us - we do love that they care.  Here, I have to study for the bible meeting - we decided to make it once per month with only beverage for the host to make it easy.  We can always discuss our lesson any time with a call.  All my friends have been mostly long-term caregivers for their husbands so they handle their houses and own shopping, etc. and their days are full of daily deeds.  Their husbands are sorely missed - Don especially misses 3 men.  I also wanted to mention one lady coming - she is not a widow).  She is from India and has really taken to our two meetings and wants us to meet at her house one of these times as well.  She is so sweet.

Take care all,

Just checking in. I signed us up for Meals on Wheels, Gilbert has been urging me to do that ever since we moved here. I do get out to buy the groceries and we have a freeze with several items there. Since I cook for the dogs, there is also their meat and veggies in the freezer.

We are going out to dinner For Gilbert's birthday on Saturday. It is called Teppenyaki style where they cook at the table.[

We are recuperating from the hectic drive to the VA for Don and the super long wait not to mention the mentally challenging drive.  Don had a hearing test and they are giving him newer aides so that will mean another drive out there  The building is so huge, we could barely find the car stuffed in the basement. Always glad to get back to the house and grateful for the medical care.  We were fortunate as there was a pileup :'(  wreck going north when we were going south.  This is daily.

Don was able to get the yearly flu shot too - thankful that it was so easy.  We never catch the flu now.

Marilyn: this sounds like your move has be a sweet success!

Well!! Here it just 2 weeks later and, can you believe it?, I just got another of those fake Amazon "account summary" scams!  This after I've changed just about everything on all my accounts and stopped any/all automatic payments, etc.  My credit rating has taken a dive and it will take me a year to get out of debt to these scammers and yet they try it again!!  Of course, without hesitation, I forwarded their scam to the (real)fraud department at Amazon. :ticked:

Jane:  It is so sad that there are so much evil money tricks floating around - lazy and unlawful people should do time in jail.

Here, we are blessed with caring children and their spouses.  We are invited for early dinner next week to youngest son & wife's house for supper.  The next day, we have daughter and her husband coming to take us on a walking/picnic day.

Our oldest son will be staying here while he has medical appointments - they keep a close watch on him with regular appointments.  He drives in from Montana to go to a top hospital here  twice a year.

Need to read my lesson for tomorrow is the bible study.

We had a great picnic at a local park - next time I want to go fishing.  Speaking of fish - Our daughter treated me to a fish sandwich and it may have been the cause of my awful night of food poisoning.  Nothing makes a person feel weaker.  I lost hours of sleep and poor Don was so worried.  This has been an almost useless day for me though I ma catching up tonight and did get the laundry done.  No going to the quilt group tomorrow night in case my self diagnosis is wrong.

Jane:  A new email came in saying Home Depot will pay $100 if I buy more online.  My trusty malware says it is a fake.  I think these people should do hard labor for their thefts.

September is upon us.  It is the month of our anniversary.  I remember standing outdoors waiting to walk in and marry Don.  The day was warm, the beautiful lake was there and it was hot until a cool breeze came and it was the first sign of fall besides the color of the trees.  It was a little town and the pews were full with people who just came to see mom's daughter marry.  Some even milked the cows early so they could come and see us  Tell us about your special days.

Good afternoon people.  I am late in getting my news to you with all that has been going on, I've neglected keeping in touch.  There are things that you need to know. I am not wanting this to go on Facebook.

The middle of August I had a medical issue that has left me in a lot of pain.  I have compression fractures T7 and T9.  the T9 is the worst. 50% collapse.....  I finally went to a chiropractor and had him check me out.  Very wise man... He refused to do anything until he had X-rays were taken.  Thankfully he Isn't a pill pusher.  If I had gone to my medical Dr. he would have been pushing meds....Narcotics....As a bus driver I cannot do that.  He is doing physio and heat, leaving adjustments till the healing is further along.

We have had a lot of rain this autumn.  This week has been nice, sunny for the most part. The Canadian Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks, October 11th.  We are getting a beautiful colour show of maples and oak leaves.

Have a great day everyone and I will start the new thread on the weekend.... A few days late.

Stumbled across this version of the classic hymn "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" by Danish group Papa Bue's Viking Jazzband tonight. I found this group while going through songs by Danish composer Bent Fabric for the website secondhandsongs.com (this group did an album of songs from a Danish musical that Fabric wrote the music for). Don't know a whole lot about the group but apparently they're quite well known in Denmark.

Good rendition if not rather slower, think i prefer it sang a little faster, maybe more gospel, and of course sombre, although a favourite tune-song of mine, of course usually played- sung at funerals...

Good Morning sorry I have been AWOL, however, I have been here reading. I have been wondering about Janet  too.

Jackie it sounds like you found a wonderful church close to where you live. I have gone back to church yet. I am pretty lerry about attending a crowded place with all the covid Variants going on. I prefer a small church with a small congregation.

I have been invited to a church that a friend attends but I've been there before a long time ago and there are way too many people there any they have 2 services. I really wanted to go back to the church I went to before I moved to  Oregon but it is now closed.
