Morning Devotional...
Jesus on Family Matters
Mark 10:13-16 NLT
One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him.
When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it." Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.

Adults are not as trusting as little children. To feel secure, all children need is a loving look and gentle touch from someone who cares. Complete intellectual understanding is not one of the requirement. They believe us if they trust us.
Jesus said that people should believe in him with this kind of childlike faith. We should not have to understand all the mysteries of the universe; it should be enough to know that God loves us and provides forgiveness for our sin.
This doesn't mean that we should be childish or immature, but we should trust God with a child's simplicity and receptivity.

Again, above is my very, very most favorite animation! Take time to watch the animation, please!
Karma, Karma, Karma....I so wish I could wrap my arms around each one of you. Since I can't in person, here is a cyberhug from me. {{{Shuford family}}} I feel Nards will do just fine. He has a lot of people praying for him. We all must 'keep on knocking' and God will answer our prayers for Nards. Just think...he will feel so much better after the surgery. God Bless All Ya'll!!
I did go out with Ivalou and Teresa for lunch. When I got back home, I put all the pictures I took in Brown County in PSP for cleaning and polishing! Some keepers...some not so hot!
Time for bed now! ZZZZZzzzzz»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«

Hey there, all y'all ... I have been around (and sometimes a square) and observing all y'all have to say/share.
Karma~I am so in awe of your family's strong faith and belief that God is good -- all the time! I believe that, too. I honor you for your trust in Him and I am, most certainly, praying for you, Nards, the kids, and all concerned...God WILL get all the glory. Praise Him!
I (think I) have found a neat church fellowship to join with in worship. Today we had a potluck (They call it Pot Blessing) and the food was amazing!!! I made a new recipe for Chicken Alfredo and people seemed to love it. I cooked brown rice with chicken stock and put the chicken and alfredo sauce over that before baking. Maybe I'll do this one again sometime ... it really wasn't all that difficult.
I will be back d'rectly ... y'all take care y'hear? Love y'all ...........
Hi all,
Karma ~ my thought and prayers are with you also. I know what it is like.
Jane ~ so glad you found a fellowship to go to!
Hubby is not improving as he would hope. He should be starting radiation in a couple weeks. Today is to check his health and strength for it. It will be 5x a week for 7 wks.
Still Trusting,
<><Jeannine
Yesterday we had rain........all day
Today we have rain......I hope it stops but, we are to have rain for three days according to the weatherman. It will clean up the roads and yard.
John is out to a doctors appointment and then for breakfast with Dennis. I am going to sew so the girls will do their work in the kitchen today.
I am off. Praying for Nards, and the rest of the needs represented here.
Good morning all. Today I've got to go to the bank (I was recently roped into asked to be the church treasurer, and I like to get that money deposited ASAP after Sunday. :/
Bernard goes for his MRI today, then we meet with the surgeon on Thursday. We are truly blessed to have the cardiologists and heart surgeons in our area that we do. The Memorial Mission/St. Joseph Hospital system in Asheville (NC) has the "Owen Heart Center" an entire "mini-hospital" just for cardiology. They are the only hospital in North or South Carolina to receive a designation of "Top 100 cardiology hospitals in the country" and they are only like 5 minutes from my in-laws house, so that is nice.
Looks like it is going to be a nice day. I hope Spring is here to stay.
Hope everyone has a good day. I'm praying for ya'll as well. Take care.
kamrat
Good Morning Everyone!
Karma, had a time of prayer for y'all this morning. So sorry to see you going through this. Bernard is so young. But what a Great Physician we have!
Hi Jeannine... Sorry that your hubby isn't progressing as quickly as you wished. Sad.
Hi Judy and Etta Sue!
Jane, so happy you found a place to worship that you are happy with.
Have you all watched the videos I posted? They are superb and it's so nice to know that I know this fellow Pete so well.
Very professionally done.
If you need a link again to find it, let me know.
Bernard/Karmat - We'll be praying also. God is not moved because of MANY prayers, but He moves many to prayer. He wills to use our prayers to accomplish His works! That's wonderful! We pray for His wonderful guidance of the doctors, etc. for Bernard's surgery. He does all things well.
Amen, Al!
You always put it so well. Thanks! Helped me too!
Hi everyone. We had a little bit of rain yesterday but not expecting anymore before Wednesday.
Karmat, I have had my chest opened for bypass surgery twice and a word of assurance to Nards that the pain from the surgery really was very slight. There are no nerves in the heart. I have had other operations that were minor but more painful. I am thankful that they have found the problem as it is surely correctable and as the doctor said he will likely feel better immediately. He will just have to limit what he does until the bones begin to knit together although I suppose they still use the wires to wire the sternum together although mine were done 20 years ago.
Etta Sue, thanks for the devotional for this week.
I have been busy this morning setting up some appointments with doctors and for routine car maintenance. I have nothing on the schedule for today except to watch the finals of the men's basketball season tonight around 9 pm.
Jeannine, so sorry to hear that your hubby isn't progressing as he would like and then having to face the radiation soon. I am sure it is a challenge for you both.
Jane, glad you have found a fellowship that you feel is right for you.
Carol, that meal you have or had prepared sounds very good. Glad you are able to visit with these folks.
Liz, thanks for the suggested maintenance procedure. Have never run that but think I will run it while I rest this afternoon.
Ruth Ann, glad your wrist is feeling better and you were able to drive.
Janet, if you have the disks for the Word program and you can't fix the problems anyother way you might want to uninstall Word and then reinstall it. However, it is hard to imagine what could have corrupted it that would necessitate reloading the program.
Marilyn, hope you are able to walk your dogs today. I am sure they missed it.
Well, I ran the check Liz suggested, and it probably fixed a lot of things, but not the problem in Word. I finally just opened a new document and finished that way, but I can't make any additions or corrections, as everything appears in caps, red and underlined. And now my printer is going crazy. Ahhh, the joys of computers. :'(
I agree with the others concerning Jeannine's husband, and the Shufords. Glad the needed help is available close by, that takes a lot of the stress and expense out of the situation. Prayers continue.
Jane, glad you have found "your" church. That food sounds good!
Darrel came in from therapy with the news he is to be in Garden City in the morning for an MRI of his shoulder. Sounds as if he may have to have that surgery, which we do not want, but it would be better than continued pain and disability. :-\
Looking at those young faces of the British Navy hostages in Iran makes my heart ache. So much evil in the world today............ I well remember when Iran took our people hostage, too. We cannot give in, knuckle under nor negotiate with those terrorists!! Please, God, protect those young men and woman.
Just a quick visit this morning as I am about to leave for work. The sun is shining but it is in the low 30s this morning. Should be around 54 this afternoon according to Yahoo weather.
I rran that check on my computer and also did a defrag yesterday. Thanks Liz.
Gotta go now.
Hello friends!
With being sick so long I see I'm way behind on what's going on with you all. I also see there are newbies that I haven't met. It's been all I can do to keep up with homeschooling, and the part-time photography work and catch up on housework. I wish I could be here more often. I will try to keep up on prayer requests, at least and chat when I can, but I find it takes precious time away from my family and I am limited on the time I can physically sit at the computer, too. The next part of my post will explain why.
I would like to ask you all to lift me up in prayer if you would. I've been hesitant to bring this up, but I need all the prayer I can get. (maybe I should put this in the prayer request section?) Please pray for healing for me for my eyes. I found out that I have a degenerative corneal disease that will most likely claim my sight, unless God chooses to heal me. As a wife, mother/teacher, photographer, this is quite upsetting to me. As fellow photographers, you can probably imagine my impulse is to take and process as many photos as I can before I go blind. Not much call for blind photographers, I don't suppose. At the same time, my family and church comes first. I do get eye strain easily from the glare on the computer screen and can't stare at it for very long. It's hard for me to read on the computer, which is why it'll be hard for me to read and catch up on the posts I missed while I was sick. So, if I don't seem to know what's going on or that I don't care, that's not the case. I do keep you all in my prayers, even if I'm not up on the specifics of each need. God knows your needs.
Trusting in God's plan, as much as I possibly can,
Shutterbugmom
hello all, what a way to begin the school week and end the work week (our work week ends tonight and starts on tuesday and our school week starts on monday and ends on friday) today was the funeral and there was A HUGE attendence. it was good sad but good... anywyas i must be off to do other things type at ya'll later

Hi, friends,
I'm back from the gastro doctor. Well, it seems that my blood count indicates that somewhere or other I've lost about 2 units of blood.
So, next comes the colonoscopy. More later.
I'm praising the Lord today that my hand and fingers are ever so much better.
Ruth Ann
Thank You, Father, for Your gracious healing of Ruth Ann's hand/wrist. I also pray You'll give the doctors true insight and wisdom regarding the blood loss. And I pray You'll also give them the solution.
I pray that everyone is having a blessed Passover Week.
In His Grip,
Kevin
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10491/normal_444333530_f53988e2ee.jpg)
Ruth Ann, I am praying that the doctors find the reason for your loss of blood. And I'm so glad your hand is better. ((((hugs))))
Shutterbugmom, so sorry to hear of your vision problems. Is it macular degeneration? If so, there are shots now that they put directly into the eye. But maybe yours is a different condition. Whatever it is, God knows all about it, and He is still in the miracle business. We will uphold you in prayer. Nobody wants to lose their eyesight! Scary.
Kevin, beautiful tulip!
Sarah, what was your friend's name? I'm wondering if I know her family. Don't burn yourself out at such a young age. Good to have you checking in.
Our piano lessons today were fun. I want to progress much faster, but she says I am doing great, so will keep plugging away. Darrel sounds really good! (His music, I mean. ;))
Hi, all.
I know someone who is having a birthday tomorrow. Her initials are JW. :)
Happy Birthday tomorrow. JW. Just in case I don't get in here in the morning, I wanted to say it tonight.
I'm also glad you found a fellowship that you might be attending.
I'm cooking dinner, so better check on the sauce. Nita
hello all back from working fixin to go to bed so i can get up to a new day.... granted that the people at the bar walk home or we will most likely have a wreck or something...
Janet- Bronwyn Fleming ... she is one of the "twins" that was in my class her and Aubrey were the twins pretty much joined at the hip whereever one was so was the other.... just please pray for the family... her father is a big athest and her mother i dunno i know aub has spent the last week or two drinking and trying to "drown" the pain as she says... anyways i'm off to bed gotta be up to meet the truck at 630 tomorrow morning adios
Sarah
Shutterbug Mom: Sending my morning prayer for you. I can't imagine your shock.
Karma/Bernard: Also thinking of you two and sending another prayer today.
Larry: We had a nice drive to Estes Park with cousin and were so blessed to see hundreds of elk in the Rocky Mountain Park. There have been times when only a chipmunk has been seen so we were fortunate. This cousin leaves today.
Time for coffee: :coffee: April will fly for us as we have at the least three more couples coming for visits and Easter day the family will be here plus I want to have another new young couple over for dinner. Sure is difficult to stay on diet when company is coming though - and the exercise goes kaput.
I forgot who found the "new" church group but it is so exciting, isn't it? We are really happy with the group at our church that works on good projects in the community & other places. It just seems like the perfect place for us to help.
Carol
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANE!!!
And many more! We are off to Garden for Darrel's MRI, hope to be back on later.
Thanks, Sarah, for the information. I do not know that family, but sounds as if they can all use our prayers!
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fhome.earthlink.net%2F%7Eettasue9842%2Fsitebuildercontent%2Fsitebuilderpictures%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253Edancinghappybirthday.gif&hash=5e8fd0ac4b371a380c324bbec91e810a96c160d2)
So many health concerns to pray about. Just know that I am praying for God's will. He made each and everyone of us and He can make them right.
I was tired when I went to bed last night. I mowed my yard...yes, the season has started! I had to go buy some gas for the mower and then pick up limbs all over the yard...God's pruning. After I mowed, I took the limbs back to the woods and put them on the limb pile. Then I was done. Good day!
I think I am going to Lowe's and purchase me an umbrella for my bistro table. I keep buying cheap ones and they don't even last a season. So going to go bigger this time. And then this evening is 'Guys and Dolls' at Beef 'n' Boards. It's always fun there.
April is crazy weather for Indiana. Today's high is to get to 78°F. Tomorrow the high is to be 42°F. :idiot::) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Happy Birthday Jane!!!! May God bless you greatly today and throughout the coming year. I have an April birthday, too!
I will be spending my birthday in northern San Diego county, where I grew up. We have lots of family there. I'm looking forward to the drive and taking spring pictures of the Sierra Nevadas along the way. My hubby is letting us take extra time to drive to and from CA just for me. What a hon! We will spend three weeks away all together. We need this time away!
Janet-No, it's not the macular thing. Unfortunately, it's Fuch's Dystophy. Supposedly hereditary, but we knoe of no one who's ever had it in my family. And, incureable and they don't know what causes it. It can happen quickly, or it can take years to lose your sight altogether. It is accompanied by pain though, they do know that. There's very little they can do for it. A corneal transplant is a possibility, although at this time, they don't have a really great record of being a lasting fix. I'm praying for R&D in the meantime and maybe by the time I would need one...
I am truly thankful and humbled by all of your prayers! It means a lot that you would take time out of your day to lift me up to our Father. Thank you so much. I'm thankful for the family of God and you, my brothers and sisters. I know that God's plan is perfect and He will help me through this. Others have it so much worse, but blindness has always been one of my biggest fears. There are times though, when I grieve for what I have not lost, and just the thought not seeing my grandkids or a sunset is enough to set me off. So, I will trust in the Lord, for that is all I can do, and go about His work in the meantime. God is good!
Kevin-Love your Passover greeting! Great color and composition. I've started adding scripture to some of my photos and started an Inspirational album. I want to do more with photography and glorify God with my camera and photos of His artwork, as long as I possibly can.
Ruth Ann-I'm praying for you. Sarah-You, too! :aaah:
Well, time for school! Actually, I'm late! You all have a great day and God bless each of you today!
K
Happy Birthday Jane.
Happy Future April Birthday Kathleen.
Hi all.
We had a brief thunderstorm here with very little rain but now it is overcast. It was 81 degrees while ago but expect it is cooled by now. Had a busy day getting the oil changed in one of our cars and then attending a meeting and finally going to lunch with a group. I came home and took a nap and the next thing I know it is 4 pm.
Happy Birthday Jane. Hope you have had a special day.
Shutterbug Mom, so sorry to read of your sight problems and the dismal prospects. Of all the senses to lose the ability to see would be the most difficult for me. Fortunately in this day and age there are some great tools for the visually impaired from magnification to programs where the computer reads for you. There is a built in program in Windows XP for that purpose plus other software programs. I have a cousin who recently has basically lost her sight and I sent her information on the programs that are administered by the States to provide books and other materials on tape as a free service. I know you are not at that point yet but perhaps something you will want to investigate should they ever be needed.
Janet, have you checked the settings in Word to see if the defaults may have been set for the red color, underlining, etc? Hope you and Darrel had a good trip to Garden City for the MRI.
Carol, we saw a few elk when we drove into Estes Park a couple of years ago. We went up to the summit but had to come down ASAP as my heart didn't like that altitude.
I am not going to address everyone this evening but have noted your concerns and enjoyed your comments, except those with the bad news but know that is a part of the life experience for all of us.
Jane, no gifts from me this year, but a special hug for your birthday. Hope it's been really special. :)
I had two nice experiences at Sam's today - I needed to buy cat food, and realized I couldn't lift it. About that time, a young mother happened by, smiled and asked if she could help. And, then, strange as it seems, Sam's didn't have any spare employees to help me get the cat food into my truck. Another very nice man helped me in that case. Thee are times that it's nice to be able to find great little moments for gratitude.
Shutterbugmom, There is a wonderful eye specialist here in Nashville who specializes in difficult cases. His name is Ming Wang. Here is his website. You may wish to contact them: http://www.wangvisioninstitute.com/index.html
He recently restored sight to a teen from one of the East Europen nations, and the citizens of Nashville have just brought a little girl who has gone blind from India for treatment.
Y'all have a good day.
Ruth Ann
Shutterbugmom, I am praying for your situation. I think the not knowing is worse than anything.
Happy Birthdya Jane!!!!!!!
Not alot going on in WNC today. The kids are playing with their grandparents right now, and I'm trying to "encourage" Bernard to work on our taxes (hey, we still have our Christmas tree up, the fact that we haven't done our taxes yet shouldn't be a huge surprise) without being "naggy," but naggy is my next step. :)
Well .... Thank you, one and all, for the Birthday wishes. :-[ That would be:
Nita, Marilyn, Janet, Etta Sue, Kathleen, Sue, Larry, Ruth Ann, Karma and the CP Admin aka Pat Scott! Here's to you ------>

Birthdays mark the entrance into this world of those celebrating the day. I thank our Lord, Jane, for sending you!
On the other hand, though, I wasn't aware you were engaging in the admission of aging data.
Aaaawwww AL ... Thanks (I think :-\) Aging is a wonderful thing .... I can't wait for it to happen for me! ;D
Hi everyone. I will post early today as have another busy day planned (at least busy for me).
After coffee we will go to the church for our weekly Bible Study. We are still studying the Book of Revelations but are about to finish. I don't think this has been the study that our minister has really enjoyed but he has humored us. Personally I think it is important to study this book but as any others.
This afternoon the air conditioning man will be here most of the afternoon.
This is also the day that our housekeeper is coming. She was scheduled for Monday but had a little medical upset and wasn't able to come on Monday. The yard was mowed and tended to on Monday so things will be in good shape for a couple of weeks by the end of the day.
We are not having choir practice this evening. We are singing an anthem on Sunday that we have been practicing and our choir director, who is also a middle school teacher, needed to get away for a few days during spring break here for our schools.
Ruth Ann, there are still a lot kind and considerate people in this world. Glad you found folks to help you. I sometimes wonder who these stores are able to keep their doors open with the fewer and fewer employees they have. I went to Lowe's this week for a couple of things and there was just no one around to help you.
Looking forward to a great day and hope it is for you as well.
April and May are turning out to be really active months for us. My only problem right now is to keep the dates straight & remember what is happening at which hour. :-\
Jane: It seems you have found the real fountain of youth! :D
Larry: Trail Ridge Road would be too high for many people. Our much younger niece in Albuquerque is having chest pains again - after having two heart attacks. Her sister & BIL are driving from Fort Worth to pack her house & move her to FW . We have been so concerned but not sure we could pack a two level house to help at all. Something good always happens.
Ruth Ann: It seems as though there is always an angel around us - pointing out to people what they can do to help.
Company has gone and we cleaned most of our carpet area yesterday. Today, I take my sewing machine in for an update on something. Also, a lesson at the same time. Planning the Easter menu & everyone is pitching in - the grands are getting older but I bet they still want to do the egg hunt.

I think she forgets that I read this stuff, ya reckon :) Or maybe that's the whole idea. What Christmas tree? That's an evergreen, woman, which means it is currently an EASTER TREE!!!!!

'Guys and Dolls' was great. I love the shows when they dance, sing and act. Great evening. I drove and I am glad since it was raining. Otherwise I might have had to keep my eyes shut. I trust my own driving a lot better than others driving.... ::) The next show is 'Wizard of Oz'.
I bought me an umbrella and stand for my bistro table yesterday. Of course, as soon as I got home, I put it in the table. All was well. Then we got high wind and rain. I looked out and the table, umbrella and stand was tipped over on the railing of the deck. I uprighted it. It hadn't been out there two hours!!
I got up this morning and looked out my window to the north. No umbrella. I looked to the east...no umbrella or table or stand! Then I noticed it was on the ground by the steps. The strong winds last night caused my table, stand and umbrella to move about 15 feet before falling down the steps. And it is soooooo cold this morning. Right now only 29°F. But the stand and table are back where they are supposed to be. The umbrella is inside in a corner. I think I need to get a bungy to tie the umbrella closed. The wind opens it enough to make it like a kite!!
I am off to IU this afternoon. Walter is only going to have one hour session instead of two hours. So I should be home an hour earlier tonight.
The month of April is really busy for me...at least the first 2½ weeks.
Maybe that will mean that May will be easy!!<: )) ))><<~~> <: )) ))><<~~< <: )) ))><<~~<

It's a cooler day here in Nashville. And, after a rainy, stormy night, the sun is shining brightly.
Y'all have a good day.
Ruth Ann
Be-lated Happy Birthday, Jane. I didn't get here yest. so was not aware it was your BIG day. How old now.....? Wish you were visiting the island this year...would find a way to get together. Last year was kind of a bad year.
Monday, Billy Bob, the cat who comes to dine, tried to dart out under the garage door when it was closing. Got caught before I could make it stop, and we spent the day worrying. My daughter went over to their home and asked if he was okay. Seems like....while we were fussing and worrying, he was asleep on the bed. CATS ::) Was happy to learn that they have bought a large piece of land and are building a new house. So he will have room to roam.
I went to Vict. yest. to shop. Sr. Day at the malls. Got a couple of things, plus a pretty jacket, which turned out to be a tad to large for me. Wendy liked it and it looks great on her, so she got an early Birthday Present. Was a great deal, 40% off, plus my 15% sr. discount. Of course, it was an even better price for her!!!
Must go and check on the latest news regarding pet food. Then tackle a large pile of ironing, get dinner for Amanda, since the kids are off to a hockey game in Victoria today. Cold outside......I wonder if we will ever have warm, dry weather again. The Easter Bunny is going to leave lots of wet tracks.
I pray for all the needs. Not given to expounding about it....simply pray.
Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.
Liz
Nards...........just stick a few plastic eggs in that tree and she will get the message! ;)
Ruth Ann, I'll just bet those people who stopped to help you went away smiling and feeling so good about what they did, because I just know that you expressed your appreciation in such a sweet way.
We bought me a new printer yesterday. I guess I killed mine, by pulling out a jammed piece of paper from the front. After it started acting crazy, I went to their website and it says to NEVER pull out jammed paper from the front! :ticked: Like, who wouldn't? After all, that's where you see it! Who would think to unhook everything, take the back cover off and pull it out from the back? GRRRRR. So, when I get the new one installed (or Darrel does) I should be back in business, thanks to a very kind person here who called to give me some instructions! Thanks SO much.
It has turned cool here again, frost is predicted :'( and even snow for tonight/tomorrow. Wahhhh!!! I am praying it doesn't freeze and kill all our fruit.
Liz, sorry the jacket didn't fit you, but your loss is Wendy's gain this time. I bought a cute little jacket recently that is too small for me, so I am hoping daughter Kerri can wear it.
It is time to get ready and leave for church. We worked hard all day and I'm tired, but will go anyway.
See you tomorrow, kids.

Be-lated Happy Birthday, Jane. I didn't get here yest. so was not aware it was your BIG day. How old now.....? Wish you were visiting the island this year...would find a way to get together. Last year was kind of a bad year.
Liz
Thanks, Liz ... Yesterday I celebrated the 72nd anniversary of my birthday ... Now, that's not old, is it?
Both my daughters have April birthdays too ... Dot's is the 11th and Joy's is the 21st. Looks like we've got this month all sewed up.
I doubt if I am going to be doing much long distance visiting for a while. I love the island and would really enjoy a get together with you but........ :-\
Etta Sue you asked about our family reunion.... They had it in or near Chicago last time and, there were not many showed up. I guess the travel and all just gets too difficult these daze. I haven't even heard mention of when or if there'll be another.
My high school class is having our 55 year reunion in Marin County (where we went to school) in mid September. I am thinking about trying for that one since we are losing classmates all the time lately. We had a huge graduating class and I have never cared about attending any of the "mini-reunions" they've had in the past 15 years but I made it three years ago and again last year, after learning of the death of a couple of my good friends and the cancer battle of another one. I decided I should try to at least stay in touch while we can all still share a smile and a few memories. Life is really short when you stop to think about it.
good evening!!! i may just take the Christmas decorations down and hang plastic eggs on the tree. 'kay, Bernard? :) good idea, janet.
just running through. it's like 3 am here, and i really need to go back to bed. I laid down with kristi to help her go to sleep and left the computer on, so i got up to cut it off, and here i sit.
night night
oh yea, Bernard has heart surgery next wednesday (4/11).
Good morning, friends,
The sun is shining in the windows on this cold morning in Tennessee. I'm so thankful that my heaters still work. It's an old house, but where I've lived for the last 40 years.
Y'all have a good day.
Ruth Ann
Hi everyone. It is 37 degrees here in Georgia this morning.
I am writing from the Saturn dealer where I brought the car to get the oil changed. After about another 8,000 miles I will have to have the 100,000 service done and that is big bucks. Fortunately that will be several months or a year down the road. We don't plan any long road trips. They have a wireless system here and I brought my own laptop with me.
After I leave Saturn I will stop by where I bought tires and see if they have time to rotate them. When I get that done the car maintenance should be done for awhile. The air conditioning man came yesterday and had to replace the contact box that controls the opening and closing of the valves or something like that on the heat pump. They had carbon on them and weren't opening as they should. The squeal we had heard was from a release valve that opens if the pressure gets too strong, which was the case when the contacts didn't release. He also serviced the main air conditioning unit so should be all set for summer.
Karmat, I am sure you both are not looking forward to next Wednesday and this will be a long week of waiting. I always dread the waiting and am glad when the day arrives so I can get things like this behind me and begin the recovery process. It sounds like Nards can look forward to feeling much better.
Janet, what kind of a printer did you get? Paper jams used to be much more common than they seem to be today.
Etta Sue, sounds like you might want to take that umbrella down when you are not using it especially if unsettled weather is anticipated. Glad you didn't lose your new umbrella.
Good to see everyone posting today.

Brrrrr! Cold here in Indiana and windy. If I still had the umbrella outside and decided to bring it in, I might have to change my name to Mary Poppins!! And did I mention that it has been snowing yesterday and today? No accumulation but you can see it in the air. Little bitty tiny snow flakes but still snow flakes!!
I got my mammogram and then Ivalou and I went to Kokomo. We had lunch at a Chinese Buffet and walked around Hobby Lobby until it was time to go to the Art Association place. The photography guild that I belong to got several firsts and seconds and honorable mentions but not Kitty or me. We just got hung.... :-\ But all the pictures were wonderful and the winners deserved to be winners. Now I can't wait to bring mine back home and hang my pelican in the living room. I really like that guy!
I am ready to call it a day and snuggle under the afghan I am crocheting and watch some TV. :)Hi, guys. I think my hubby is getting spoiled. I have spent most of my time this week helping him. I really don't mind, but wish the cleaning fairies had chosen to visit my house while I was helping him. Today we saw the orthopedic man again; he said the MRI shows a partial tear of Darrel's left rotator cuff, but he is reluctant to do the surgery yet. He put another injection in the shoulder, and recommended further therapy. If it continues to worsen, he will have to look at it with a scope and determine if the surgery would be the way to go. He said they always complete the tear before doing the repair. ??? Sounds strange to me.
Yep, cold here in Kansas, too. :( On tonight's news, Wichita was having a real blizzard. Goodness, and I thought it was Spring!
Etta Sue, where did you get that nice picture of me? Only, my kitty doesn't sit on the piano and sing with me.
Ruth Ann, glad you are staying warm. Hope to talk to you again soon. <3
I'm going to have to work hard tomorrow to have things in shape for company on Sunday! Wish I had some help. Well, I believe Darrel will help with the cooking, that is a blessing.
Karma and Nards, prayers continue. God knows Nards' every need, and He will be the One in charge next Wednesday. Any heart surgery is scary, but I hope knowing we are all praying for you will bring a measure of comfort. (((((hugs)))))
Hi y-allI am still busy with the costumes, I have 6 completed and 3 more to go plus the long purple sash for the Jesus costume. Hello to everyone.
TTYL
Hi Marilyn. Happy sewing!! I was thinking about you this morning and wondered how it was going.
Here is the email update I sent to some friends of ours --
Bernard's MRI on Monday was completely normal, and he does indeed have a brain. :) No tumors, no strokes, no MS. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We met today with Dr. Alan Johnson of Asheville Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. As far as heart surgeries go, this is the easiest, most simple kind. That is good. His surgery will start around 11 and he should be finished around 2 and in an ICU room around 3. The actual surgery on the heart only takes about 15 minutes. The rest of it is getting Bernard to sleep and prepped for the surgery (I'll spare you the details, yuck. I'm so glad God didn't call me into medicine). He will be in ICU over night, then a regular room for 2 or 3 days, then home to recuperate for a couple of weeks. The most difficult part (according to Dr. Johnson and all other open heart patients I've talked to) is waiting for the sternum and ribs to heal. Apparently, that is a pretty painful little mess in there. Bernard is ready to do this and amazingly calm. I am to, on the outside. <grin>
So, Monday we go to Mission Hospital for pre-OP, Tuesday is a lovely day spent at Asheville Cardiology doing a catheterization, and Wednesday, bright and early, we will go to the hospital for the big day.
Thanks for remembering us, and I'll keep you updated as we go.
Oh yea, some have asked for specific ways to pray. Obviously, as God leads is cool, too.
1. Travis and Kristi to not be too completely whigged out by the whole thing. We are explaining bits and pieces to Trav, and Kristi is happily oblivious to the whole thing, for now.
2. The doctors. I know some of Bernard's docs are Christians, but I do not know about all of them. My prayer is that something we do or say or are plants a seed or waters a seed that has been planted.
3. That Bernard wake up from the surgery. :)
4. A quick and speedy recovery.
In Him,
Karma
So, such is life.
It is cold here. No snow, but I had to put the winter coats on the kids today. :( The wind was very nippy. Tomorrow is going to be a relaxed day, I think. Bernard had mentioned only working part of the day, then coming home and spending some time with the kids. I hope he does. Starting Monday life is going to get very stressful and I want him to be as rested as possible.
Thank you so much for your prayers. I simply cannot find the words to express how much they mean to Bernard and me.

I think Karma feels somewhat the same about me, Janet. I'm wearing her out :( But she's a sweetheart about it...
Good morning, all of you. Have a great day!
Nard
:) I don't mind. Really. I think it is in my "wife contract" or something.
I will, however, be glad when it (the surgery) is over, though.
It's funny. Even though I don't work full time, I love Fridays. I think it was from all the years I spent in a school environment.
Soooooo Happy Good Friday to you!!!!
Hi everyone.
Nards, I have had my chest opened twice and there really was not a lot of pain as there are few nerves in that area of the chest. You just have to be careful for a couple of months that you let the bones reheal and on your x-rays for the rest of your life you will see the wires they use to bring the ribs and sternum back together. I did not have the same procedure to the heart that you are but I guess the entry is about the same except they will probably have to do more than access the arteries around the heart as they do with bypass surgery. I have a feeling that within a few days after the procedure you will be feeling so much better that you will think you are a new person. You are a man of strong faith and I found that was so helpful to me as I prepared for the surgeries. I really think it is sometimes harder on our loved ones than on us as we get to sleep through these things. Karmat, my wife still remembers her shock at seeing me in ICU and thinking I looked like I was about to die as I was very pale and was on a resprirator for a little while. Just don't be shocked at how he may look as that is apparently very normal. Recovery is also a great time to get some of that rest that you haven't had the time for before.
Etta Sue, it is 39 degrees here this morning and they are saying that on Easter morning it will be 26 degrees. That is not going to be good for the flowering trees, flowers and plants. Glad you enjoyed the show.
Marilyn, it sounds like you are about to finish the project with the costumes.
Janet, glad that Darrel will not be facing surgery, at least now, but it sounds like he is in for more pain for awhile.
Guess I had better get busy on some other projects.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fhome.earthlink.net%2F%7Eettasue9842%2Fsitebuildercontent%2Fsitebuilderpictures%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253Egirl__twokittens.gif&hash=18f0d86863d8d4e964457bf8e8e878fb3dccdc82)
Karma and Nards ~ You know my prayers are with you and my heart aches for all you are going through and will be going through. Good news that his surgical procedure is the easiest and the most simple kind. Easy for a heart surgeon to say. ??? When it is for one of your loved ones, it is scary! Just love each other and try to do something this weekend together that keeps your mind away from next week. Love yous all!
Janet ~ My heart goes out to you and Darrel. All I am going to tell you is stop....relax...rest. You tend to go around like a whirlwind. Slow down, take a deep breath and enjoy life...which I know you do or you wouldn't do all you do. ^-^
Marilyn ~ Glad you are on the downside with your sewing. You are over halfway done. You will get them done since you don't have to work outside the house on Saturdays now.
Larry ~ When I got up this morning everything was frosted over. It is only 31°F now. I walked out to get the paper and at least the wind has died down. Not bad out really. Bright and sunny and my solar heat is running as I am typing.
Nothing going on for me today in Indiana but Good Friday Service at Ivalou's little church this evening. I am looking forward to that.
Everyone have a good Good Friday! o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0

Larry - it's not supposed to get that cold in Atlanta! It doesn't even get that cold here, and we're considerably north of you. I hope not too much of the fruit crop is ruined.
Bernard - I pray our Lord will guide the surgeon's hands and give them wisdom and insight to take care of you. It's really our Lord taking care of you, and you couldn't get better care than that! And I pray for Karma and the kids too, that they will bear up and receive needed strength duiring this time.
I had one doctor recommend triple bypass surgery for me about 6 years ago. I'm thankful it wasn't done. That doctor has since been kicked out of the profession and sued with a class-action suit for unnecessarily operating on many people over several years. I know your docs are bettelr lthan that, but they still need our Father's guidance, and I pray for it.
Please all continue to pray for our Pat - she's been under the weather for several months now, still needs to get strength and energy back. Our God is able.
Etta Sue dress rehearsal is Saturday at 1:30 I have to get them all done today. Not a hard task just put ting my mind to it and doing it. I will still take the dogs for their walks first though to get that out of the way. I am also ironing all the costumes as I go along.
Karma, thanks for the additional information about Bernard's surgery. And having Larry to reassure you is a big help, I'm sure. As Larry said, once that hole is "patched" and the blood is going where it should, you may just have a new man around there, so full of energy you will all be amazed. Prayers continue.
Larry, my printer is an HP, and this morning, I fixed it! HA!! Imagine that! So we have a new Canon printer on hand for a spare. I was afraid to try to fix it, until I had another one on hand. Darrel did the same thing to his a while back, so now he can fix that one, too. And the bonus is, my desk got cleaned off.
Marilyn, I hope you enjoy sewing. I'm surprised nobody else volunteered to help make the costumes. Pat and I were going to make the Christmas costumes for our church, but then they decided they weren't going to use costumes this time (Last Christmas, that is.) I hope you haven't been too stressed about the job.
I have gotten a lot done already today, just stopped to check email and check in here, now must get back to it. I need to call Beth and see if she wants to go to church with us tomorrow or go at the Home.
Hi, Etta Sue! Want to come over for Easter dinner? We're having turkey and all that goes with it.
I better get with it!

I love this Kevin! How appropriate! Thank you so much!
Good morning, friends,
I attended Maundy Thursday worship with my friends from a large, formal-style church. It was very sobering to go through the service with the appropriate Bible readings and prayers and then to watch as the lights dimmed and they literally "undressed" the sanctuary. Removing all goblets, table coverings, etc. At the end, the ministers also removed their colorful shawls, folded them and stood in silence in their black robes as the senior pastor walked to the podium where Bible readings are done, picked up the large Bible, held it aloft and shut it with a thunderous clap while the choir, out of sight, sang "What Wondrous Love Is This."
That large auditorium was totally silent during that part of the ceremony. I left feeling just a bit of the weight of my sins that had been placed on Jesus that night in Gethsemane as he prepared for the coming hours.
I'm so thankful to have gone.
My son and I will be in Atlanta tomorrow and Sunday, returning that evening so I can get to the doctor early Monday to have the stitches removed.
Y'all have a good weekend. Much love to all, and still praying for requests.
Ruth Ann
Larry - Thanks for the "insiders" viewpoint :) To the rest of you, thanks so much for your prayers.
COME AND SEE
Come and see what I can see
Look at three crosses if you will
Someone is dying for you and me
Between two thieves on Calvary hill
Come and see His lovely head
Crowned there with piercing thorn
Look at His blood running red
Who is He the people scorn?
Blessed hands with nails pierced through
Fixes Him to rugged tree
And His feet nailed there too
What sight is this to come and see?
Come and hear what He cries
The words He utters with dying breath
It is finished; then closes eyes
And bows His blessed head in death
Come and see now rolled away
From empty grave the mighty stone
And in its darkness where He lay
His death shroud lying all alone
Come and see as the disciples stare
At this sight so amazing
This Man ascending in the air
Leaving us behind here gazing
Call out now His blessed name
Jesus Christ the crucified
The Son of God put to shame
It was for us He bled and died
There is life in Him; He will save
Claim Him Lord on bended knee
No hope for you beyond the grave
If this Man you will not come and see

HAPPY EASTER everyone!
Thanks Colin for that lovely poem. Those words are so special.
Thanks for the prayers, Al. They mean a lot.
I will be praying on Wednesday for you Bernard and for you too, Karma as your job of waiting is very difficult.
Hello to you all. It's been snowing here all day and blowing a blizzard.
Janet no one else volunteered to do the costumes. I wasn't going to until I found out that no one else would. Someone else took time out of her busy schedule to cut them all out for me and I sewed them all up. I am finished now, they are all ironed and hung waiting to be delivered tomorrow for the dress rehersal.I will be doing laundry tomorrow after i come back from Curves. I have already been there 5 days this week.
TTYL
Hi everyone. I have about 15 minutes before I need to leave again for awhile this morning. I see there haven't been too many postings since I posted yesterday. I expect folks are busy with Easter activities and travel.
It has turned very chilly here today and I don't really care for it although God has given us a gorgeous day to go with it and the house is warm so I have no complaints. I brought the few flowers we have outside into the garage last night and will probably leave them in today and tomorrow night and then it is going to warm up again.
Colin, thanks for the lovely poem. It is good to see you posting and good Easter wishes to you as well as to all the folks here on CP. Easter is the time to rejoice in the arisen Lord and what it means to us.
Marilyn, glad to read that you have finished with the costumes. You were able to use your gift of sewing ability for the glory of God as you made these costumes.
Pat, no snow here but it sure is chilly. Hope the snow doesn't last long up your way.
Ruth Ann, that sounds like a very sobering experience you had at the Maundy Thursday service. Have a wonderful time with your family here in Atlanta.
Janet, congratulations on fixing your printer. I use two printers here in my office, one for routine printing and one when I want better quality and good color. You can have more than one printer installed and when you go to print just drop down the little arrow and select the one you want to use. The ink I use in my everyday printer is much less expensive than the better printer.
Al, I sometimes wonder about some of the heart procedures I have had but feel I have a good doctor.
Hi Etta Sue and all who stop by today. Time to go.
I just got in from taking Travis snowboarding in the back yard. Looks like we will be having a white Easter, unless it warms up dramatically tonight. ???
Right now, Kristi and Bernard are playing with some of Trav's little army guys. When Bernard goes back to work in 3 or 4 weeks (or whenever), I'm going to have my hands full. I know a little girl that absolutely LOVES having her daddy at home. :)
Have a great day. I'm going to go scrounge something up to eat. I'm hungry.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fhome.earthlink.net%2F%7Eettasue9842%2Fsitebuildercontent%2Fsitebuilderpictures%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253Egirlwithbunnyears.gif&hash=d030a11cbfd3eaaeab7795074b86b78d58be08f6)
Al ~ There are evil and greedy people in this world including some doctors. I am so sorry you had to encounter one of them but happy that you didn't go along with his surgery request.
Marilyn ~ I am glad to read that you are all done with the costumes. I know that is a fulfilling experience to finally complete a large project. Your Easter pageant will be special with the lovely costumes.
Janet ~ You better believe if I were closer, I would come for Easter dinner. So far I haven't been invited anywhere. So I will probably have Taco Bell or maybe make it special lunch and go to Mountain Mikes for a Grilled Chicken Breast and the fixin's. Like I say, if you don't want me to go somewhere with you, don't ask! ;)
Pat ~ I have been having a busy but great Passover week. And yes, it did snow here yesterday. Suppose to be April Showers but we had April Snowflakes!!
Ruth Ann ~ Your service sounds humbling. I went last evening to Ivalou's church. I felt Jesus in the church. I read in my devotions today that someone said Happy Christmas on Easter Sunday at a church. A lady replied...You can't have one without the other. True...so true!
Nards ~ Hey, the family that stays together prays together. We are family!
Colin ~ Thanks again for a very poignant poem!
Larry ~ Seems our fruit trees won't bear fruit this year because of the week-long freezes at night that we have sustained here. We have several apple orchards around and the owners say that when they cut open the blossoms, they are brown...dead. Sad for their livelihood! I am sure that some crops in the south are damaged as well. Short spring this year...week before last!
Karma ~ My mind is picturing Daddy and his little girl playing with army guys. Cute picture. Also picturing Mommy and Trav snowboarding in the back yard. Cute picture. That's the way life should be.
Good Friday service was touching last evening. It is mind-boggling to realize without Christ, where would we be? We are saved by grace though the blood of Christ.
Not much going on today. Just preparing for Easter Sunday even though that doesn't take much preparing for me. I love the Christian Holidays!! ~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@ (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fhome.earthlink.net%2F%7Eettasue9842%2Fsitebuildercontent%2Fsitebuilderpictures%2Fmyhst.gif&hash=07abd5b2c7aad1ff803c4d97de10a2ba818e2e0e)
Howdy!
As part of our fund-raising for the Ladies' Conference, there is a Mother/Daughter/Granddaughter/Whatever Tea this afternoon at the 4-H building. I will be meeting Diane to pick up Abby about 11:30. Abby is so excited; she has gathered up NINE outfits to share with the little girls, and, she said, nine things to go with the dresses. They will have a lot of fun dressing up. I gathered up a load of jewelry, scarves, handbags, hats, gloves, shoes, etc. for them to use, too. Should be a lot of "Kodak moments!"
It is cold here, too. My daughter in Salina said they had six inches of snow, and that the Easter Bunny better come sledding down the trail, because if he comes hopping, he might fall and break his little head! She's a funny girl, so much fun.
I have more prep work to do for Easter dinner. I hope you are all doing great and remembering our dear Jesus' sacrifice for us. I know you are.
HE IS RISEN
The agony and death of the cross are done
For He has cried "It is finished" and died
The blood He shed is freely given
To cleanse the soul that comes to Him
Now the winter of the soul with its sin and death is past
As the light of His love and mercy shines
It melts away the cold and frost of the sinner's heart
New life is given and a brand new start
For Jesus no longer lies in the grave
He has risen and lives today
He calls to all to come to Him
Who defeated death and sin
Come walk with Him our risen Saviour
What joy to be found this Easter morn
Come and rejoice and raise your voice
For He has conquered death and is risen
Jeannine Faith
Good afternoon to everyone! If I don't make it in tomorrow, Have a Happy and Blessed Easter. I am praying for all! Not much change here.
God Bless!
Still Trusting In Him,
<><Jeannine
I have been to Curves, and have 1 load of laundry folded and put away, another in the dryer and a sweater in the washer. I have put all the costumes in the car as it has been raining here this morning and I wanted to get them in there while the rain had stopped.
Not much else going on here. The kids are going to be with friends tomorrow and as far as I know at this time I will be here at home by myself as usual.

I am remiss, Colin, a wonderful poem, Thank You!
STEPS
Wearied and bruised; His blood running red
Flowing down from the wounds in His thorn crowned head
Up Calvary hill to die there for me
The steps of Jesus carried Him on towards the tree
The grass of that hill felt the soles of His feet
Which once were bathed in a perfume so sweet
How many steps it took we do not know
Before nails pierced feet and hands with cruel hammer blow
They jarred His body as they lifted Him high
Stood around and mocked and watched Him die
The steps of other men carried Him to the grave
But Jesus is raised now and willing to save
The steps we take carry us towards death
God knows their number before fading breath
Leaves our nostrils and bids us farewell
And before us is eternity in Heaven or Hell
The footsteps of the wicked carry them astray
The steps of the redeemed delight to walk in God's way
For they are ordered by the Lord as they walk by His side
With God's law in their hearts none of their steps shall slide
The Lord will give to us that which is good
Although His ways we know not and are not understood
But His righteousness goes before us as He leads day by day
And shall set up our steps as we go on our way
Yes; God sees my way and my steps He does count
I know not their tally or how much they will amount
But I know each one is ordered by His word
And each step I take brings me nearer home to my lord
Christ suffered for you to lead you His way
New steps in direction take by trusting Him today
His hand is there for you; His promises are not hollow
And He will lead you safely home if His steps you will follow

Once again Happy Easter everyone! Been reading all the posts.....nice poem Jeannine by the way...now any chance of getting another slideshow done! :clobber: Take care everyone.

My bunny's name is Snuggles Fuzziwugs; and Abby's is Caramel Choco-paws. :)
The girls had so much fun dressing up today, and I hope I got some cute photos.
Nice poetry, Jeannine and Colin.
I feel like I'm getting a sore throat, so I'm going to bed early tonight.
When we get up in the morning, it will be Resurection Day!!!
Mine's Chocolate Fuzzypaws! ;D
Hello everyone!
I cannot read all the posts from yesterday and today, but know that I'm thinking of and praying for all the needs here.
I'm just popping in to send Easter Blessings to you all, since I know I won't be able to do it tomorrow! I hope you have a very wonderful Resurrection Day! We are having a living Lord's Supper at church with drama and media presentations and all sorts of wonderful things. My hubby and I are singing "Were you there." I just love the hymns!
God bless each one of you!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
The tomb was empty Easter morn,
Why seek the living among the dead?
He is Risen!!

HE IS RISEN
Where is He who was brought in?
Carried dead from Calvary Hill
His wound scarred body wrapped in white death shroud
And in this tomb lay stiff and still
Three days ago His blood was spilled
Death's dark hand came to close His eyes
And in triumphant call, it is finished
A suffering Saviour bows His head and dies
Dark the tomb where He was laid
Its coldness wrapped Him there alone
And to its doorway to seal forever
They closed Him in with mighty stone
And now the question, who will answer
Where is He who quietly lay?
An angel spoke, He is risen
And to let you see God has rolled the stone away
For it could never seal Him in
Death could not keep Him in its hold
Why seek the living among the dead
See His death shroud lying in empty fold
Then rejoice, for He is living
Lift your hearts from deep despair
Soon the clouds of sky will welcome up
The Son of God ascending in the air
Tell to now a world of sinners
There is release from sins dark prison
Hope and life in Him simply because
Jesus Christ the Lord is risen!

Colin: Thanks for your poetry.
Jeannine: You have lovely poetry as well.
We had a wonderful Saturday night service, does anyone still call it Holy Saturday? The songs were geared towards children and youth to remind us that we are Children of God. There were five baptisims as well.
Marilyn: Such a great gift you have and the stamina to sew so many costumes.
Ruth Ann: Our church has the Maundy Thursday service of stripping of the altar and we are to enter and leave in total silence. The Friday night service is very plain as well
Just learned that a hospital in the area will no longer name religious days such as Christmas or Easter and no extra pay for working those days - to be treated as regular days of the year. This is in Greeley, Colorado. I won't comment more on this glorious Easter morning.

Good afternoon from Snuggles Velvet Ears! Church was awesome as always but today seemed more awesome. We are alive because Jesus arose from the grave!
I ate at Mountain Mike's. At first I was sad because I was alone and everyone else in the restaurant was with family dining. Then I realized I am never alone. Jesus is in my heart always. So I dined today and celebrated with Jesus!
But now that I am home and my body is winding down, I feel a nap coming on....ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Bugs Cottontail sends Easter Greetings! (sounds like I am about to heist the choc. eggs.... :o)
Our days are sort of half and half right now.....part sun, part rain. Get ready to break out the Spring clothes and end reaching for the heavy jacket. This is certainly messing thing up for the farmers, etc.
I cooked a nice ham dinner for the kids on Friday and they are eating the rest today. Wendy is making a turkey dinner on Monday as it is SIL's birthday. Made a pumpkin pie with whipped cream, etc. So, no lack of goodies this holiday. I am spending a quiet day today, coming down with a cold. Only real sign of Spring!
A friend sent this poem to me:
IT WASN'T THE NAILS
It wasn't the nails,
holding Jesus that day.
and it wasn't the soldiers
that caused Him to stay.
It wasn't the nails
through His hands and feet,
that wouldn't allow our
Lord to retreat.
His love held him there,
on the cross, in our place...
an amazing display of
His infinite grace.
As He paid the price
for a life that prevails,
love held Him there...
it wasn't the nails.
:)
Well, time to hit the bunny trail. Hope all have a wonderful and blessed Easter.
Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Hey Etta Sue! Me too :D (Only it was Kozy Kitchen for me) A man at the next table paused on his way by me and said "Are you all alone? You shouldn't be alone, it's Easter!" I replied that I'm never alone ... and besides that, I was with a whole room full of people. :) His response was "True, and God will supply all your needs."
Yup, I know that and I trust HIM to do just that, every day!
It's good to see all the friendly, funny bunnies here today ....
I trust everyone is enjoying the day and rejoicing that He is risen indeed!
Hello hello hello.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Resurrection Day!! We are just relaxing and taking it easy today. A nap sounds good right now. :)
This week is THE week. Bernard is seemingly calm about the whole surgery thing. I, however, get a stomach full of butterflies everytime I think about it. Guess I need to put them in formation and give them marching orders.
I hope everyone has an awesome day.
Marilyn, How did the costumes do?
It's good to read about the different Easter services and read the meaningful poetry. Yes, indeed it was the LOVE that held Him on the cross, and that same love holds us in our times of testing. What a mighty God we serve!
We had a really good discussion in Sunday School today, too. After church, we picked up Beth from the Home, and shortly after we got home, Diane and Jeff arrived. We enjoyed having them, they stay so busy they don't get here very often. Usually we go to their house. Everybody has gone back now, all the food is put away (not much left) and dishes all washed and returned to their places. It's a good feeling.
I will be back later to start a new week in here, but for now will add more poetry.
EASTER HOPE
The darkened tomb is empty now
Gone is the deep despair;
The risen Lord on garden path
Gives hope beyond compare.
In Christ we have forgiveness
With his blood He bought our sins;
In Him there's Easter promise
He rose to live again.
He is the Way, the Truth, the Life
Through faith in Him we come
To enter in through Heaven's gate
When this life's work is done.
Because Christ died and now He lives
Our hearts rejoice today;
No longer need we fear the tomb,
The stone is rolled away.
-Kay Hoffman
Karma the costumes looked great, I will post some photos as soon as I get them out of my camera edited and and ready for CP. Gonna go dot hat now.

Hi everyone.
We had a nice Easter today except my wife hasn't felt good and wasn't up to going to church this morning. However, my daughter, who was here for the weekend, and I attended. Our choir sang a joyous song called "Joy in the Morning", which is one of my favorities. I hadn't thought of it as an Easter anthem but it certainly fit. Our church was full today and it sure looked good.
We had put a ham in the oven about 10:30 and my daughter had prepared a green been casserole. When we got home Pat had the meal on the table, which was a pleasant surprise. We had a delicious meal and afterwards I had a nice nap. Around 3:30 my daughter was ready to return to her apartment so I took her down to Atlanta. Just been enjoying my easy chair since I got home.
I have not been able to get my Gmail on my desktop but rather would get a message that I needed to turn on cookie functionality. I did everything I could think of and searched the Internet for an answer without success. Today I decided to download the Opera browser and was very happy to see that it opened the Gmail without a hitch. Tomorrow I plan to duplicate my hard drive on a new hard disk I have had on the shelf for sometime now that I won't have to reinstall Windows.
I think I will take a pass on the bunny name. :) However, there were some cute names.
Karmat, I think you are experiencing what I was talking about that things are often harder for the loved one than the one having the surgery. I found it was very useful to say a prayer and put myself in God's care when I left the room.
I have posted/attached several photos of the Children's Easter pageant
HERE (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=6060.new#new) If you click on each attached photo you will see them larger. There are 4 of them posted in the Gallery that are much bigger.
Marilyn, I looked at your photos and posted comments, but I think they flew away. Anyway, the costumes look very nice, and I was wondering how many total you made? I was wondering what all kinds you were doing, and see they were nearly all angels. Hope the wings were purchased!
