Far too often we think that God is love and have the frothy view of love like the bubbles that form on the top of a glass of soda. Yes God IS love but we need to remember the rest of His attributes as well.
God is Jehovah. The name of independent being—"I AM WHO I AM"—only belongs to Jehovah God. As we consider His greatness, we fall down in fear and awe of this One who possesses all authority. Exodus 3:13-15
God is Jehovah-M'Kaddesh. This name means "the God who sanctifies." A God separate from all that is evil requires that the people who follow Him be cleansed from all evil. Leviticus 20:7,8
God is infinite. We cannot speak of measure, amount, size, or weight and at the same time be speaking of God, for He is beyond measurement. God has no beginning, no end, and no limits. Romans 11:33
God is omnipotent. God has power. Since God is also infinite, whatever He has must be without limit; therefore, God has limitless power. Jeremiah 32:17,18, 26,27
God is good. The goodness of God is what disposes Him to be kind, benevolent, and full of good will toward all creation. Psalm 119:65-72
God is love. God's love is so great that He gave His only Son to bring us into fellowship with Him. God's love not only encompasses the world, but embraces each of us personally and intimately. 1 John 4:7-10
God is Jehovah-jireh. This name means "the God who provides." Just as He provided yesterday, He will provide tomorrow. He grants deliverance from sin, the oil of joy for the ashes of sorrow, and eternal citizenship in His Kingdom. Genesis 22:9-14
God is Jehovah-shalom. This name means "the God of peace." God could never give to others a peace that exceeds understanding if He Himself were not perfect, unfailing peace. Judges 6:16-24
God is immutable. All that God is, He has always been. All that He has been and is, He will ever be. He cannot change because He is perfect and will remain perfect. Psalm 102:25-28
God is transcendent. We must not think of God as highest in an order of beings. This would be to grant Him eminence, even pre-eminence, but this is not enough. He is transcendent—existing beyond the created universe. Psalm 113:4,5
God is just. God rules with absolute justice. Not fooled by appearances, God is fair, equitable, and impartial in all of His judgments. Psalm 75:1-7
God is holy. God's holiness is not simply the best we know made infinitely better. God is absolutely untainted. His holiness stands apart—unique and incomprehensible. Revelation 4:8-11
God is Jehovah-rophe. This name means "Jehovah heals." God alone has the remedy for the healing of mankind. The Gospel is concerned with the physical, moral, and spiritual healing of all people. Exodus 15:22-26
God is self-sufficient. He is the One who contains all, who gives all that is given, but who Himself can receive nothing that He has not first given. Acts 17:24-28
God is omniscient. God knows all that can be known. His knowledge includes every possible thing that exists, has ever existed, or will ever exist. Psalm 139:1-6
God is omnipresent. God is everywhere—close to everything, next to everyone. "'Do not I fill heaven and earth?' declares the Lord." Psalm 139:7-12
God is merciful. God's compassion is infinite and inexhaustible. In the mercy of His provision in Christ, He took upon Himself the judgment that was due us. He waits and works now for all people everywhere to turn to Him, not wanting any to be lost. Deuteronomy 4:29-31
God is sovereign. God is in control of our lives. His sovereignty is the attribute by which He rules His entire creation. To be sovereign, God must be all-knowing and all-powerful. 1 Chronicles 29:11-13
God is Jehovah-nissi. This name means "God our banner." We may go from triumph to triumph and say, "Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:57). Exodus 17:8-15
God is wise. All God's acts are done in infinite wisdom. He always acts for our good, which is to conform us to Christ. Our good and His glory are inextricably bound together. Proverbs 3:19,20
God is faithful. Our hope for the future rests upon God's faithfulness. Because He is faithful, His covenants will stand and His promises will be honored. Psalm 89:1-8
God is wrathful. God's wrath is never capricious, self-indulgent, or irritable, as human anger often is. Instead, it is a right and necessary reaction to objective moral evil. Nahum 1:2-8
God is full of grace. Grace is the good pleasure of God that inclines Him to grant merit where it is undeserved and to forgive debt that cannot be repaid. Ephesians 1:5-8
God is our Comforter. Jesus called the Holy Spirit the "Comforter." Paul writes that the Lord is "the God of all comfort." 2 Corinthians 1:3,4
God is El-Shaddai. This name means "God Almighty." It is best understood as God who is all-sufficient and all-bountiful—the source of all blessings, fullness, and fruitfulness. Genesis 49:22-26
God is Father. The Creator of the universe cares for each one of us as if we are the only child He has. Jesus taught us to pray, "Our Father" (Matthew 6:9). The Spirit of God taught us to cry, "Abba, Father," as in the intimacy of the family. Romans 8:15-17
God is the Church's head. God the Son, Jesus, is the head of the Church. The head—as the part of the body that sees, hears, thinks, and decides—gives the orders that the rest of the body lives by. Ephesians 1:22,23
God is our intercessor. Knowing our temptations, God the Son intercedes for us. He opens the doors for us to boldly ask Him for mercy. Thus, God is both the starting point and ending point of true prayer. Hebrews 4:14-16
God is Adonai. This name means "Master" or "Lord." God as Adonai calls all God's people to acknowledge themselves as His servants, recognizing His right to command them as the Lord of their lives. 2 Samuel 7:18-20
God is Elohim. This name means "Strength" or "Power." He is transcendent, mighty, and strong. Elohim is the great name of God, signifying supreme power, sovereignty, and a covenant relationship that He is ever faithful to keep. Genesis 17:7,8

Judy, what a great devotional today. In our limited humanness we can never fully grasp all that God is. :)
We are often so flippant about God. Thank you for a statement about God that shines in its truth!
Judy: An encouraging devotional.
I am still without a face but perhaps that is a good thing.
This evening we are to get snow then perhaps turning to rain. Interesting.
We put the winter footwear away but what we have just found out is that Mel is unable to properly tie his shoes no strength in his left hand and yes he does not have slip on shoes, our shopping for this week and yes his therapy starts on Friday.
I have started going to a different chiropractor and that now requires many 3 trips per week for adjustments but I do feel that I am seeing slight changes for the better. Thankfully this will not last forever. I can choose the time of day I go but so far I am going in the morning than the rest of the day is mine.
Tomorrow is another day.

Thanks for the devotion Judy. We do have a awesome God.
Happy Birthday Jane. Hope you have a Great Day!

Oh thank you, so much, Judy and Don! I have had my usual quiet day here on the south coast of Oregon. The sun came out and the sky was blue for most of the daylight hours ... just for me! ;)
Good morning everyone! Just checking in before I have my bowl of grits. :) Warm weather today here in NC 83° with southwest winds 15 to 25 gusts 35 to 40, got to go tie everything down, then back in the 60's tomorrow. Crazy weather.
Hope everyone has a blessed day.
Hi everyone and Happy Birthday Jane. They roll around quickly don't they.
It is a beautiful day here today and suppose to get to 82 degrees this afternoon but already very nice outside. Unfortunately, tonight we are suppose to get storms and rain and then cooling weather.
Our daughter is being admitted to the hospital across the street from where she lives. She went to the ER late yesterday afternoon as her pain had become unbearable and they found she has sepsis (blood infection) from the terrible place she has on her foot. We are quite concerned as this can be life threatening and she is a very severe diabetic with heart problems and several others. As far as we know she is still being held in the ER holding area as she hasn't called to give us a room number. Three or four years ago she had a similar bout with blood infection and was hospitalized a couple of times to receive IV antibiotics and then had a 30 day course of home IV treatments twice a day under the home health care nurses as they couldn't get the infection under control. Please put Stacey on your prayer list for a few days as she needs all the help she can get. She is scared.
Larry I am praying as I type this note. I will call my friends in CA later and put her on the prayer chain.I am about to leave in just a couple of minutes to go to the Fitness Center, I will see Jane there, maybe she already knows.
Thank you Judy for the great devotional.
Well, phooey! I had a long post done and when I clicked post, it gave me a blank page, and I guess it went out into cyberspace somewhere. I don't have time to rewrite it now.
Larry, I will surely pray for Stacey. She has had far more than her share of problems, and doesn't need sepsis!
Father I lift Stacey up to you. Please cover her with your love, and send Your healing power into her body at this moment. Let your mighty power drive out all the effects of the infection, returning good circulation, purifying her blood, taking away her pain and healing the abcess on her foot. Please wrap Stacey in a warm blanket of your love; assure her of your love and care and bring her peace. May she have sweet, restoring sleep and rest as You perform your powerful work in her body, mind and spirit.
In the Strong Name of Jesus, amen.
Heading out to the Care Home for my daily rounds!

Larry, I am certainly praying for Stacey. She sure doesn't need this on top of her other health problems and you and Pat don't need it either.
Gas? I just filled my car up. $3.849 for regular. The high priced gas was $4.089!! I still think they are gouging us. Spring break started Friday here. Gas will go down next Monday. Then it will be down until school is out. Maybe go up Easter weekend. Seems like when the companies think John Q Public will be on the road more, the prices raise! But it never goes down below what it started out!
The women that attended the retreat sang three songs yesterday for the congregation. I only had to sing two since I was on the projector system...I am NOT a singer. Oh, I sing wonderful with the CD's in the car when I am alone! ha! And I am lyric illiterate. I have to listen very closely to the words to know what they are telling me. Probably the one reason that I love instrumental music! One song that I do know is 'Jesus Loves Me'. But at the retreat we learned 'Jesus Loves Me' with a different beat and oh, uh, way oh. Oh, uh, way oh. Oh, uh, way oh. Oh, uh, way-ay oh. That was between the chorus and the verses. I knew the words!!
And yes, Larry...my Bose speakers do make all sounds sound beautiful! I love them. I am glad I got them when I did. I don't think I could get them now...too expensive. But so glad I can use them double duty for my laptop AND my Droid! Does anyone know a website for Audio Bible?
I have already taken my trash today. I stopped at Ivalou's and she needed some things at Dollar General so I went to Dollar General. At around 1:30 Kitty and I are going swimming and tonight is Council Meeting at church at 7pm. <: )) ))><<~~> <: )) ))><<~~< <: )) ))><<~~<

Prayers for Stacy at this time as it is such a concern.
Happy Birthday Jane
Yesterday Doug and a friend of his were here to do some work for Mel and then I asked them if they would move a chair down to the rec. room as I was not able to do the job alone. Thanks to children and friends at this time.
Last evening we were given a blanket of snow and then early in the morning we had a thunder and lightening storm.
I have several phone calls to make today so that will keep me busy for a while.
Hello All,
Been Busy busy around here... had fires everywhere all day yesterday and terrible wind. We dropped my nephew off then went to Liberal when we got into town there was a massive fire on the stevens/ haskell county line they were working and then by the time we got out of walmart one had started in byrans corners and in guymon. The one in guymon was pretty much on the edge of town and got things such as the drive in theater that they had fixed up and were using but can't now i guess. there was also a fire up by walsh colorado and a small on in the baptist church front yard that was under control before it burned much more than a few feet (which is good cuz my town isn't very big and well we live accross the street from the church and the wind woulda blown it towards our HOUSE :S) anyways I must be off here just checking in giving you all our excitment. back to teaching these kids science
Sarah
Sarah, in the post I lost this morning I was saying that we were in Liberal last night, and there was a massive fire near Satanta. They actually wound up evacuating the entire town! Several homes were lost, haven't heard all the details. They took the residents from the care home to several different towns. Sad. And with winds from 65 to 80 MPH what a job to fight those fires! Terrible.
I want to watch Glenn Beck now. Catch up on the latest baloney from obama. :P
Fire, under control, is a blessing. But when it gets out of control it's terrifying!
So many people/things I'm praying for today: Larry and Pat and their daughter Stacey; all those people affected by the fires; the situation in Japan; and the many others on my ongoing prayer list.
Hi everyone. A quick update on Stacey. After being in the ER and ER holding for probably 21 hours they finally got a room for Stacey. She does have sepsis (blood infection) and they think it has probably gotten into the bones. She called late this morning and was almost frantic as they had not gotten the gabafenton that she uses to control the terrible pain in her legs from the neuropathy. She was threatening to leave the hospital and go to another ER. By the time I got back from my Monday men's luncheon she was in a room, had received the medicine and had calmed down. She is getting IV antibiotics.
Thank you all for the prayers for her and for us. Janet, that was a wonderful prayer.
Janet, if you lose a posting always try to use the back button on the browser as you will often find the message is still there.
Good evening from Ontario Canada
Sarah & Janet: Are these fires what could be expected in early spring as we will get some here as well, the burning of old grass etc. Being out of control is that careless as not being watched in the first place.
Ruth
:'( I'm so sorry Stacey is going through so much, and continue to pray for her relief and healing. I got into my recliner and saw the first two minutes or so of Glenn Beck, and had a long nap. :-\
Each time I go to the home, Mom is worse. I did get to visit with the Hospice nurse today, and she agreed with me that Mom shouldn't be gotten up and taken to the dining room, it is too hard on her and she doesn't eat, anyway. I guess the emotional toll of dealing with her condition and knowing the end is near is what is making me feel so tired. I just really feel wrung-out. And I want to work as quickly as I can on Beth's book, as so many times I can't understand her speech. So I'm feeling pressured.
Larry, wish you could have been with me at Liberal yesterday for that concert!! It was called The Legacy of Floyd Cramer, and all the songs were played by his grandson, Jason Coleman. What a talented young man, WOW! He is very articulate, friendly and outgoing; visited with the audience between numbers, and had a slide show which he used photos at the beginning of most numbers, showing the singers who sang the songs his granddad played. Totally entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed it. AND.....if you go to www.JasonColemanMusic.com, you might just see me waving from the audience and yelling, "The legacy continues in Liberal, Kansas!"
WELL!! I just got a big surprise! When I went to the site I entered above, and clicked on the photos, there was a close one of Jason and me! He was autographing the CD I bought. Neat! :) ;) ^-^ I barely noticed a flash, sure didn't know it was his guy taking the photo.

That made me chuckle.
To the others in here that need prayer I just want you to know that I am praying
for you.
Janet I know what you are going through and I am sorry. We buried my Mom in February and it was hard watching her. It will get better with time. I'm praying for you.
One of the most wondrous things that can happen in this dreary, fallen world is the way our God can turn otherwise terrible happenings into blessings for us and glory for Him. With that in mind, I pray for Stacey and for Janet's mom. I pray, not only for healing, but for our sovereign God to turn these things into blessing and into His glory, even when we can't see how He could possibly do so. Oh God, our sight is dim. Break through our dimness. Grant us to see Thy wondrous hand! Oh let gracious and wondrous things come through the hand of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen and amen.
Janet I couldn't find a picture of him signing a CD, just the 3 pics for Facebook.
Al I ask you last week and didn't get and answer. How is Marbeth doing.?
It has been raining here since Keith got home from work. The leftovers for supper were great. He had them from one meal and I had them from another. I only have 3 more rows to finish the little hat I am making to go with the Pink Baby afghan for my grand daughter I had to quit for tonight as my hands were hurting.. I wills end both afghans and the hat to my daughter in law to give to the girls for me.
You are so right Al. I know and knew that God tells us to visit the ones that are in the rest homes and are shut in but I refused. So that is where my Mom ended up and died there with me by her side. So I had no choice but to go and I have come to know some of the dearest people I have ever known. If she had not been there I never would have met these dear souls that I now look forward to visiting. They are there and some of them have no visitors at all. The rest home itself is not a pleasent place to visit but the people there bless my heart. They tell me each time I visit that I have made their day. Little do they know that I am the one that is being blessed. It's 32 miles one way to the home but my wife and try to go at least once a week. I would like to go more often but with gas prices the way they are, well you know the rest.
If you are reading this I challenge you to go and get to know someone and I promise you you will get a blessing that you can not contain. Talk about your cup running over. Try it you might, no i know, you will like it.
Thank You Lord for opening my eyes!
Jam.1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep himself unspotted from the world
Hi everyone.
Prayers are working for Stacey. Pat talked with her this morning and she was feeling much better and the wound is looking a lot better. They are using a brand new antibiotic with her. She is much more positive. I don't know when she will be able to go back to her apartment.
Don, I understand what you are saying about the folks in the nursing home. I had both of my parents in one and saw them everyday until we moved them to where my sister lives and then she saw them everyday. I attended chapel with mother when I was visiting after they were moved as it was a Lutheran home in a small town and they had some very wonderful people working there. I would sometimes eat in the dining hall with my father and noticed there was little conversation.
Janet, you certainly have reason to be worn out and tired. However, you know that Christ will help you carry the burden so it won't be heavier than you can bear. I will check out the photos on the site you linked later today.

Larry ~ The pain killer that you mentioned that Stacey needed is one that Ivalou takes also. It works.
Janet ~ When I first saw the lady getting her CD signed, I thought it was you but thought that surely you would have said that was you...then the next post...said it was you! I saved that photo to my computer. New facebook doesn't allow that but when you are viewing photos, click on F5. That changes the photo format back to what it used to be, right click and click Save Image As.
And I sure wish I had known that Jason Coleman, grandson of Floyd Cramer was in Kokomo last October! I would have went! I love Floyd Cramer music! Love it! It makes your heart smile.
Well, it was a busy day yesterday. Dollar General. Then Kitty and I went swimming. I do believe it was the first time that we went straight to swim and back home without going somewhere else before or after! Then last night was Church Council meeting. We are getting closer and closer in getting a new church building!
Tonight is Beef and Boards and seeing 'Annie Get Your Gun' (http://www.beefandboards.com/anniegetyourgun/index.html).
Should be another great show. (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ECrosses.gif&hash=a20248754210521e37b5468eb257de739e5571d0)

We have a cool, cloudy opps the sun just arrived day.
Al: Amen & Amen to your prayer.
Janet: I would have enjoyed the concert as well, I well be checking the link after I finish here.
Larry: It is good that Stacey is feeling better.
Pat: I still am without a picture do I try to add one of my own or just wait until all of the kinks are worked out.
I have become very annoyed with the family Dr. and have decided it is time to look for a change, I now have a meet and greet appointment with someone for next week and the sec. and also the town drug store gave me a very good feeling, if you think of me just say a prayer for guidance.
Hi, friends, well, last weekend certainly wasn't a "walk in the Park" for me, but through God's grace and loving mercy, He led me to contact those who could help the most. Now, I'm so grateful that He is still completely in control. I am His. And, believe He is mine.
This morning for our devotions downstairs (I play piano every other week and sometimes sing a solo) I sang the old gospel song "I Bowed on my Knees and Cried Holy!" If you know it, we can sing along together.
I bowed on my knees and cried, "Holy! Holy!, Holy!!"
I clapped my hands and cried, "Glory! Glory, to the Son of God."
When I arrived at that last chorus, the audience sang along with me.
Oh, to dream of heaven, as the writer of that song recounted.
Much love, Ruth Ann
Ruth Ann: Wonderful to see you here and how nice that you play the piano and sing along with your sweet group.
Larry: Stacey sure had another tiring time with having to wait so long for a room and all and it is just great that prayers for her healing are helping.
Janet: You must feel like you are being pulled in several directions - Beth, your mom, your life. Take care.
I remember the name.
We are home as of yesterday & my shoulder is hurting I think it is from lifting boxes or even driving on a sandstorm day through northern AZ and into New Mexico. Grit - the sky was brown and so difficult to see - Don drove a lot & we felt like we were being sand blasted. Thankful to be home.
Thanks for devotions and especially the message of the many faces of God.
Checking the t.v. in a minute to find out about fires in the west of Denver area. Good news is that it should rain tomorrow. We have a little snow on the north side of the house. Very windy today.
Ruth Ann good to see you on the mend.
We visited Mother Sunday, and unfortunately she wouldn't have remembered our visit 2 hours after we left. As it was she didn't know that John was her son, she thought he was her brother, and I was her sister-in-law. It is sad when this happens to the elderly. She is 90 in November.
We had snow today and the plows are out in Iroquois Falls this evening. Gary has posted some beautiful Tulips HERE (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=11662.new#new) check them out! He brings spring to us who ae still getting the snow!!!
Have a great evening everyone.
Those tulips are gorgeous! Thanks!
I just now learned (via TV) that the terrible fire near Satanta on Sunday was caused by mechanical problems on a train passing through. It burned the ties right out from under the rails on the railroad; also burned one home, two unoccupied mobile homes and several outbuildings. Plus ten thousand acres of grassland!
So glad to hear that Stacey is feeling better. What a time she has had, and I know it's such a concern for you and Pat too, Larry. I'll keep on praying!
Carol, glad you are back home. I don't envy you the trip in the brown-out. RAIN!! We need RAIN!! Hope your shoulder feels better by now.
Ruth Ann, I love that song, too. So good to read your post. You are a blessing!
Beth is having an infection of some kind, UTI. Had a lot of blood in her urine yesterday. They changed out her catheter today, hope that helps. I expect they will also put her on an antibiotic.
Mom was very low today. I don't know how long this can go on, just praying she will be comfortable and not have too much pain. Today for the first time, I had trouble understanding her speech. She is still aware, though, and still knows me.
Don, thanks for your post. I agree that the residents bless us more than we bless them. Since I am there every day (almost) plus working there part time for about three years, I know every resident there. We have lost so many this winter/spring......I attended another funeral today. It's a shame some are so lonely, even though they may have family right here, they never visit. So sad.
I am going to work on the book! Must keep plugging away! I had opportunity to visit a friend I hadn't seen for some time on Sunday on the bus, and again today while we walked at the high school. She is a retired English teacher. I told her bits and pieces about the book, and she thinks it will be very interesting. Please pray the Lord directs me, and that the book blesses many people. Thanks.
Ruth Ann.... you are an answer to my prayers these last few days. Thank You Lord!! I'm so happy to see you getting better.
Janet, I'm praying, also, for your Mom.
JudyB, Everett's mom lived with us the last year of her life and she, also, did not recognize her son..... just "that nice man who I was married to." I will always remember her as almost two separate people. One who was very independent and loved her family, music and the stage and the other a discouraged lady who couldn't understand why she couldn't go home; to the place where she grew up. She was my "second Mom' and I loved her very much!!

Pat: I still am without a picture do I try to add one of my own or just wait until all of the kinks are worked out.
Ruth, we've lost a whole directory which was all of our avatars and attached photos before the move to the new webhoster.
So, yes, please upload another. If you have any problems, please send a photo to me as an attachment if you have one and I'll put it on for you.
It's just been so nice to sit here and read all of the posts.
I'm praying for those of you who are hurting and sad. Janet, my heart goes out to you.
Love
Pat
:) Hi to all.As you all can see it is late but I am still a night hawk and never seem to get to sleep early. The last two days I think I got a bit of food poison from a sandwich that I got at McDonalds and I still feel weak.
Judy B: Thank you for the devotional and what a lot of powerful word's there are in that.
Larry.: Sorry to here about Stacey but thankful to here that she is feeling a bit better. I hope that you and Pat are o.k.
Janet: It must be so hard for you to go to the home and to do all the other things that you need to do in a day. My wife and I have been in the same area as you and it is very tiring but the Lord will bring you through this.
To all others on C.P. may the Lord bless you this week and give you strength to be a witness for him. Praise his name. Gord and Noreen  :cp:
Hi everyone. It is a chilly morning in Georgia as it is only 34 degrees. However, the sky is clear and it should warm up a bit a little later.
Happy to be able to report that Stacey went home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. She will continue the antibiotic in pill form for two weeks and hope the infection will be eradicated in that time. She said she was feeling much better. We will make a quick trip down to see her and take her something she needs probably tomorrow.
Pat has been suffering with a pulled muscle in her upper leg. She said she was not going to Bible study this morning. Following Bible study I am attending a new luncheon group our church men have started called the ROMEOS, i.e., retired ole men eating out and not sure what the "s" stands for. Just what I need is another lunch group but they do not meet every week and don't anticipate participating each time they do meet.
Our schools are on spring break this week and our Wednesday nigh church programs are always suspended for this week. However, we will have choir practice this evening but have it 30 minutes earlier since that doesn't interfere with any other programs.
Gord, sorry to hear of the possible food poisoning and surprised you would get it at McDonalds.
Judy and RuthV, I remember only one time I went to visit my mother when she introduced me to someone we met while I was taking her somewhere in her wheelchair as her cousin. It is rather shocking but just have to let it pass understanding the reason for it.
Janet, I looked at the website for Floyd Cramer's grandson but couldn't find the pictures you were talking about. Guess I just overlooked them. I did listen to a few of the recording clips and they sounded very much like the music of Floyd Cramer. Hope you made some progress on your book.
Carol, glad to see you are home and hope the paint is still on your car. I haven't seen anything on the national news about the fires around the Denver area.
Ruth Ann, know you really enjoy being able to play the piano for the folks and singing for them. For several years I would go once a week to the day care center at our church and play and lead singing of hymns and old favorite songs. I finally gave that up as being to exhausting to do. Now I seldom play the piano.
Ruth, hope you like the new doctor you are seeing. It makes such a difference when we do like the doctor and can communicate with them.
Etta Sue, the gabafenton seems to be the only thing that helps the pain for her and suffers terribly when she has to miss a dose. She is now taking a very high dosage several times a day. I don't know how she keeps up with all of her medicines.
Just about time to go to coffee this morning.
Good Morning To All, Hope all are well this morning.
Cold here this morning 33° with frost. Had to wash my fruit trees down, hope it works. Maybe this will be the end of the frost for now. Suppose to be in the 60's today and then warm up nicely for the weekend. Hope so!
Enjoy the coffee Larry, Already had mine, first thing I do when my feet hit the floor. Got the bacon on the grill now and will start on those grits in a few minutes. Think I'll add some cheese this morning. Got to go now buzzer for the grill is going off.
Hope everyone has a safe great day.
Remember God Loves You!
Thanks for asking about Marbeth, Marilyn. She is doing very well indeed! Since she got into physical therapy, she's lost unneeded weight and feels much better. Her walking just keeps improving. She walked about half a mile on Central Av. here in McKinleyville recently by herself (However, I was out on Central Av. in the car, and I checked a couple of times. She's really doing better than I am overall. Thanks be to God.
It is hard to watch our loved ones fail. My mother first went into the nursing home at 90 relatively healthy and very alert but over the next six years went gradually downhill. The last year or so when I visited she would ask every few minutes, "Are you sure you're my Jeanne?"

Grits. Now I want some grits. I should have gotten grits Saturday afternoon when we stopped at Cracker Barrel on the way home from the retreat!
Annie Get Your Gun was so cute last night. Frank Butler was a very handsome man and very good singer and Annie Oakley was a cute little gal with a very southern accent and of course, pigtails. Very good show!
Today is rehab for Ivalou and then we will go eat somewhere. I asked if she wanted to eat first and she said 'Let's eat afterwards and then we don't have to hurry or watch the clock!' Good idea.
And yesterday I worked on the computer and got 45 images and 9 silent movies to upload to the program at church. Most of the images are spring flowers. I got a beautiful .pps slide show and put it in Microsoft Power Point. Then I can right click and save on the image. All .pps images are wonderful! Tonight is Wednesday Night Live so I plan to go early and install them before WNL.
Cold today and windy! Only 38 degrees. But soon...very soon it will warm up and I can open the windows, turn off the heat and let the wind clear the air and dust the house!!
I have never seen so many corn shucks and leaves in my yard as this year. I wish the corn pickers would cut them up but they don't and then the winds blow them everywhere. And they don't deteriorate or cut up with your lawnmowers very well either. The perils of living in the country! But I will take it any day against city life.o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0

Al I am very happy to hear that Marbeth is doing so fantastic. that is certainly good news. I hope you are doing much better than you were awhile back with your hip and legs.
Judy I want you to know how much i appreciate the devotional this week on the names of God, I have copied it and pasted it into Word and save it for future reference. When I still lived in southern California I was in a Monday Women's prayer group and we prayed the names of God, I still have my prayer binder in my bookcase.
Larry That medication is Gabapentin there is no F in it. I take the same medication except is a much smaller dose that a diabetic would take. It is the generic for Neurontin.

You will have to learn how to make those corn shuck dolls so you can use them up. :)
I must leave very soon for a dental appointment.
Pat: Thanks for the info.
Larry: About Janet's post and Floyd Cramer's son you will notice an arrow on the right hand side following the arrow you will find Janet I think it perhaps was the second or third one give it try by the way I thought it was a good picture of Janet.
Must leave Ruth

Mom's nurse called just as I was about to go out the door this morning to tell me Mom says she is going home today, and wanted family to come. She had been asking and asking for her grandson (she has several!) but I knew she probably meant my sister Jeanie's son Lance, the only grandson who lives here. When I got there, yes, she wanted Lance. I called the swimming pool, asked them to get Jeanie out of the water to take my call, got Lance's number and called him. Luckily, he was working here in town, so was there soon. We all stayed with her for some time; then Jeanie left, then Lance; then I took Beth back to her room. I asked, "Mom, do you need anything?" And she yelled at me, "Let me alone!!" So I have come home for a little while, they are to call me if any change.
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, I will be back later.
Awww... Janet. My prayers are going heavenward for you and your mother.
Janet I am praying with the others here for you and the family as you wait for your Mom to go home.
Praying here too Janet.
I'm sorry too Janet and I am Praying For you all!
Pat: I received your email - thanks for putting up my newer picture.
Janet: I can't think of anything except to say - praying for you & all.
RuthV: I like your new & colorful picture.
Al: Remembering you and Marbeth in prayer right now.
I made it to Bible Study on Wednesdays. It was great and good that I got there as a new discussion is beginning - on love and patience. Anyway, nice to have the hugs from my table.
I was able to actually fix the Cuisinart coffee maker - can't believe it. It overflowed twice this morning so thought we would have to buy a new one. The microwave is another thing - parts can't be found for a newish Samsung. Looking for a made in the USA product. Don is very tired from the drive & napping. It is cold and ready to snow/rain here - very raw. Great to be home
Janet, my prayers for you and the family, and for your mother as she waits for the Father's timing, not hers, to be taken home.
Thanks, dear friends. I'm just home, and Mom is still waiting for her sweet chariot...........
Awww... Janet! <3

... :aaah: is the closest I can come from way up here !!
Praying my dear sis.
:) Janet; I also wish that I was closer and able to give you a big hug and to pray with you but will do that here. It is very hard to be there and watch your Mum at this awkward time. God's Blessing on you and your family.
Have felt a bit better yesterday and today but still feel a bit weak. Please continue to pray for the people in Japan as I saw some new footage jesterday and could not believe the damage that it has done.
Good night for now. God Bless to all. Gord .
Good Morning Everyone!
Beautiful day here today. High of 75 and Sunny, gotta love it. :D
I'll be praying for the ones that needs prayer.
Got plants to pot so must run. :dogrun:
Hope everyone has a blessed day and remember God Loves You! :)
Dear Janet - may our God give you peace and rest in Him Whose timing is, after all, perfect.
Well, today, as every Tuesday and Thursday, I go over to a place called "The Coffee Break" while Marbeth is joining a group of ladies who make quilts for the care centers and hospital. Everyone knows I'm there every week, so once in a while I get visited by some of the church people.
Al, that sounds as though both you and Marbeth will have a pleasant time.
It's a bright, sunny, but still chilly morning. But we're supposed to get up to around 50 later - can't complain about that! :D
The move to our new server disrupted some of the entries in our current mini-challenge, but with one small exception, everything is back and running smoothly. The subject is "The Eyes Have It" and there are some really wonderful entries. You can check them out if you CLICK HERE (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=11586.msg161397#msg161397). If you have a photo you feel would fit into this category, we are open to entries until Monday, the 11th. And if you want to post an entry and need help, just give a holler. Don or Judy or I will be around and glad to lend a hand.
My heart hurts for you aqnd your entire family (including your mom). May He Who made us, and Who dearly loves each one of us equally, be near and dear to each of you - to comfort, guide, and console you as only He can.

JudyB ~ Thanks for the pattern but these corn husks are far from being green. They haven't been green since last August!
Well, I got the car maintenance done this morning and visited a lady from church to look at a computer desk for here in my living room. Too big. But I spotted a folding table that she dad that would work great. I located one at Office Depot online. So I plan to go to Office Depot in a few minutes to see if they have one at the store. Besides I have a $10 off coupon to use there also!
Nice and bright and warm here today. Warmer than usual. Weather experts say we are to have 20 degree warmer temps than average in the next few days!! Yay!~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@

Hello,
Another Hot, DRY, and windy day here in the 'handle. We are expected to have severe fire danger til sunday :S Luckily this is my friday :) Saturday we are getting Ruth's pictures taken with her cousin Amiley who is almost 3 months younger to the day :). I am kinda excited about that. I just read that Japan has had another pretty big quake happen :S. Crazy Crazy. Only 21 school days til we are out for summer :). I am happy about that. Anyways I need to get some plans done and some grades turned in so that I can be off this afternoon to enjoy time with Ruth :)
Have a good Day and Prayers are with you Janet :)
Sarah
I hd a rather eventful evening last night. Elizabeth has a fellow who is really a sweetheart. A christian and encouraging her to follow her Lord. She went to a children's event last night where he is a helper. We know the folks at this church well. On the way home his car quit. I went on the rescue mission and thought through the mechanical scenarios....Battery terminals, easy. Battery not too hard, But the car quit while he was driving. Alternator, it had to be and that could be a more difficult fix. Got there to find out that it was indeed the alternator. We mved (muscle power) the car off the road and I took Chris home. Felt sorry for this kid. 19 years old, owns his own car has a job (full time) and is heading to the military to get his mechanics tickets. When he has done his time he won't owe anything to ay bank for his education!
It is a beautiful day here I think about +8C or about 45 - 46* F. Good weather for Maple syrup.
Janet any update?
Hi everyone. It is just a gorgeous day here in Georgia. We made a trip down to Atlanta this morning and had lunch with our daughter. Her foot is looking much better and she is feeling much better so hopefully the infection will be stopped with the medicine she is taking.
I had a nice time yesterday with the Bible study and then with the new group of men from the church at lunch. Last night we had a great choir practice as we are preparing for some special Easter music. We meet early so got home before 9 pm, which was nice.
Janet, I also am praying for you and your family at this difficult time. I am sure you must shudder each time your phone rings. Hope you are able to rest. I was able to find your picture at the concert the other night and it was a very good picture. It looked like there were a lot of people there.
Marilyn, thanks for the info on how to spell the medicine. Now I just hope I can remember it. :)
I am doing okay. Fianally found my way back here! So I had a few pages to read.
Mom told me this morning, "I want to get up and go home!" I assured her I think she will be going home soon. She had to have meds for the itching caused from the buildup of the toxins, and got a pain patch last evening. They also gave her oral pain med twice today. The waiting continues. It's hard, but I'm glad I am here and can check on her so often. I decided today to just call part of the time, rather than driving into town so often. That way I got the laundry done and worked for three hours on Beth's book.
I so cherish and appreciate all of the prayers from you dear friends---thanks.
Thanks for the update, Janet.
My prayers are still going heavenward for you.
My phone line is acting up. Sounds like watter is in the line again. Took an hour of persistence to get here!!! I am not doing my work tonight I don't know how long This connection will keep going.
Pat safe travels
Janet Still praying.
Good Morning Everyone! Busy day today, pick up grand kids at 7:30 and take to school, meet a friend at 7:30 to go help him trim limbs off trees at his river home. Hadn't figured out yet how to swing this. Go to greenhouse and water so everything will still be alive when I get back. It's already 6:39, I gotta go.
Judy hope you get your phone line fixed.
We love you Janet and am praying for other needs.
May the peace of God shine on you today and remember God Loves You!
Edit: Judy my Walking Iris Bloomed Yesterday. Will try to post pictures soon.
Hi everyone. Got up a little earlier this morning and actually felt rested when I got out of bed, a nice feeling. I am looking forward to a relatively quiet day and hope to finish up my income taxes and get them filed and do a few other tasks. Pat is going to see a movie with a couple of women friends this afternoon. They tried to go on Tuesday but the theater had no power so they were turned away. This was from the big storm we had the night before.
Don, sounds like you have a very busy day ahead. Nice of you to help a friend with the tree trimming. Do you talk to your plants in your greenhouse?
Judy, that is the pits about your telephone line. Hope they get it cleared up today for you.
Pat, hope you enjoy the concert and then have a nice trip on home. This should be a beautiful time of the year in Virginia. It sure has been pretty down here and the dogwoods are in full bloom now.
Janet, sounds very wise to call periodically and not make so many trips to the nursing home. It sounds like they are keeping your mother comfortable.

I went to Office Depot. They didn't have the table but I had all the information and they ordered it for me with my $15 gift card discount. It is to be delivered today here at home by UPS.
When I went back to the car, my right front tire was half flat! Thank God, there is a Tires Plus across the street. I got it aired up and came home. He gave me a tire gauge and said to check it once in a while to see if it was losing air. I left the car in the driveway so I could check the tire. Sure enough, losing air. I drove back to Pendleton to have it fixed. They couldn't find a leak...do you think it was because it was closing time? He put 50# of air in it and said to bring it back today to see if there is any air loss.
Well, I checked it this morning and it showed 45#. So after rehab, going to eat, WalMart and getting our haircut, I will go back to Pendleton again! Gas!!!
Glad I have an air compressor in the garage if I need it before leaving today.
My high school classmate in Mexico got back home last night after having a new pacemaker implanted and minor fix on his heart in Tucson. He is feeling much better and stronger. Thank you, God! That man has so many health problems, he should have been gone years ago. His first open heart surgery was back in the 80's!
Still praying, Janet! I know your Mother is ready for her home going!>^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^<

I received a photo of the Sea of Galilee from Mario this morning. It reminded me of this hymn. Thank you Mario.
MASTER, THE TEMPEST IS RAGING (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/master_the_tempest_is_raging.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Master, the tempest is raging!
The billows are tossing high!
The sky is o'ershadowed with blackness,
No shelter or help is nigh;
Carest Thou not that we perish?
How canst Thou lie asleep,
When each moment so madly is threatening
A grave in the angry deep?
Refrain
The winds and the waves obey Thy will,
Peace, be still!
Whether the wrath of the storm tossed sea,
Or demons or men, or whatever it be
No waters can swallow the ship where lies
The Master of ocean, and earth, and skies;
They all shall sweetly obey Thy will,
Peace, be still! Peace, be still!
They all shall sweetly obey Thy will,
Peace, peace, be still!
Master, with anguish of spirit
I bow in my grief today;
The depths of my sad heart are troubled
Oh, waken and save, I pray!
Torrents of sin and of anguish
Sweep o'er my sinking soul;
And I perish! I perish! dear Master
Oh, hasten, and take control.
Refrain
Master, the terror is over,
The elements sweetly rest;
Earth's sun in the calm lake is mirrored,
And heaven's within my breast;
Linger, O blessed Redeemer!
Leave me alone no more;
And with joy I shall make the blest harbor,
And rest on the blissful shore.
Refrain

The Sea of Galilee
[attachimg=#]
A boat carrying pilgrims is seen cruising the serene Sea of Galilee which also known as Lake Gennesaret or Lake Tiberias. Whatever you prefer to call this body of water, it is here where Jesus calmed the storm when His disciples feared they were doomed to drown. It is also here where Peter doubted his faith when he tried to walk on the stormy water to meet Jesus who was standing on the lake.
Life is not always a smooth sailing. It is during the storm in our lives, when we are sinking that we realize how much we need God. Believing in God is not just about praying for help. We also need to say a prayer of praise and thanksgiving for His love in calming our storms.
Have a nice and blessed day,
Mario
Mario, thanks for posting that so that everyone can enjoy it!
Judy, that hymn is perfect with it.
Hello all,
I am up and going. Guymon had more fires yesterday... PLEASE PRAY FOR RAIN/MOISTURE of any sort for this area. We are drier now than we were during the dust bowl (according to reports). :( we need all the moisture we can get! OKC Had a major fire that burned for over 24 hours and I am not sure if it is completely contained yet. Today Ruth and I are staying at home and cleaning :) three day weekend. Tomorrow we are going to get her pictures taken with her cousin:)... Last night they flew our City Clerk's Mother to Amarillo... she is not doing well (either one) and the mother told her nurse the other day she is ready to go home and be with her husband and savior. The city clerk is taking it well for the most part but is still kind of confused as to what she wants. Anyways they went to Amarillo last night. We had city elections on Tuesday and some of the people that didn't get in are trying to make those who did very uncomfortable :(. They started a blog online and posted about my dad (who is the city manager) SO its been well stressful in this little town I guess you could say. These people are starting to affect the well being of others and its really hard to deal with. Anyways I need ot get off here and start cleaning so that Ruth and I can play later :)
Have A Good Day!
Sarah
:) Hi to all. About nearly 2 hrs. ago I was talking to Pat and she told me I had just caught her as the car engine was running and she was at least 2 hrs late leaving to get to Virginia so we did not get to talk very long but she did say to tell you all that she is o.k. and to remember her for a safe trip.
Janet: I am so glad that you got back home and I hope that you were able to get some good sleep if possible will continue to pray for you and your family.
Judy B.: Hope that you get your problem solved with your phone it is a real pain when you cannot talk properly to people.
Larry: Glad to here that your daughter's foot seems to be a bit better I do hope that it heals completely and that she gets stronger and I do hope that you and Pat are o.k.
To all others I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and a great day in the Lord's house. Gord and Noreen. :cp:
Good afternoon. I look like a whole new woman today! My friend Pat, who does my hair was gone for over two weeks, and is now home. So this morning she colored, cut and styled my hair. What a good feeling! Thank you Pat and thank you, Jesus!
Mom continues to sink but also to hold on. This morning she was saying I want to go home! I asked her if she meant her heavenly home, she said no, she wanted to go home to Campo. That is where she lived for most of her married life, also where all her kids were born and grew up. I told her, "Mom, we're going to take you to Campo." And we are, as that is where Daddy is buried and she will be, too.
She seemed to be itching some, also said she was hurting all over. So Italked to the nurse and she was going to try to get some pain meds into her, also anti-itching meds, and call the hospice nurse to ask about using the stronger pain patches. They need to stay on top of the pain. After speaking with the nurse, I went back to ask Mom if she wanted me to sit with her, but she seemed to be sleeping soundly, so I didn't disturb her.
Darrel called me last night, said he and Curtis would be starting for home this morning. I will be so happy to have him home, could sure use his support at this time. Please pray for a safe trip for them. Thanks.
Yes, Larry, I do cringe each time the phone rings. But this, too, shall pass.
It sure is a beautiful day in Nashville. So good to hear from y'all.
I got that cell phone my son gave me for his aunt (my SIL). She will not need to pay for an account, since US law insists all cell phones, if charged, be able to call 911, with or without service. What a blessing that will be. Also, I went on a little shopping expedition and found her a set of clothing and a way to make keeping up with a small cell phone. God is SO good!
God bless each of us here, and our extended family and friends. "For He careth for you."
Ruth Ann
Janet: Hugs and prayers going your way.
Larry: So glad that Stacey's foot is better. Praise!
Al: It sounds like your coffee breaks and Marbeth's quilting group days are relaxing times. Enjoy.
Gord: Thanks for sending along the news about Pat. If I remember correctly, she can drive the distance in one day. Take care!
:) Hi Carol: Yes she would drive the whole way and it takes her approx. 10 hrs she told me and that is a long trip but I know Pat and she will have no problem as she has been driving all her life.
It is late and we just came in from babysitting the grandson's so that the parents could go out with the young couples of the church. :) We are just praising the Lord that they want to be with other Christian couples as we have been praying fore this so praise his name for answered prayer
Well good night to all may be back later today. Gord and Noreen. <3 :cp:
Well It's another day and I feel all rested up. Thank You Lord!
Got back from the river yesterday about 2 pm and helped Ann finish potting up what was left to pot. About 4:30 I told Ann lets go home I am tired. Before we could leave I got a call from a friend wanting me to come and help him burn his goat pen off, I told him I would be there in 30 minutes that I had one small job to do at home for my neighbor. Did the job, phone rang someone at greenhouse so back down there. Then I had to rush to get to goat pen, they were waiting, told me it was better to be late than not at all. :D Finally got home,7pm,took a shower, ate, sat in chair and that was it. Woke up at 11:30 came here and surfed around until about 2:30 before going to bed.
After pecking this much out,I can't type,I hit the wrong key and it all disappeared. Great! >:(
Wonder whats in store for today? ???
Will be back later, time to round up some chow now.
Still praying for the needs here
Have a Blessed day and remember God loves You!
No call from the home last night, so getting ready to go there now. Darrel did call last night around 8; he and Curtis had just gotten to Los Lunas, so he was spending the night there, and said he would head for home early this morning. I will be so happy to have him home!
Talk to you later, lots going on today!
Boy, I sure do miss the email notification for CP! :(
Morning All. It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood! Looking out the back window we see deer in the field. Lots of grass for them to eat.
John is home and today is a relaxing day. I will prepare meals for the week today, and that will be out of the way.
Don Thank you for the seed.
Bye for now, God bless,
Hi everyone. We are a warm and bit humid 64 degrees already this morning and it is overcast. I suppose we may get a rain shower later today.
Yesterday was a very good day for me as felt really good when i got up and actually got some things done. I finished up my income taxes and filed them so that is done for another year. I then cleaned up the shelving I have in my garage and moved a bunch of things to my storage shed. I also threw out a number of boxes and items that I am never going to use. I was tired last evening but slept well and feel no adverse effects from my efforts.
We have a quiet day planned today. I may watch a little of the Master's golf tourney later today.
Janet, somewhere I missed seeing that Darrel was gone. I know you will be happy to have him there to be with you at this difficult time.
Don, sounds like your plate was very full yesterday.
Gord, our daughter does seem to be getting better. She is tired but that may be due to the antibiotic she is taking. Pat and I are doing fine with the normal aches and pains of getting a bit older.
Ruth Ann, are you aware there is a program available in a number of states through a government program that qualifying people can get a cellphone and minutes each month. My daughter has had this for well over a year. The last I checked it wasn't available in all States but more were being added. It is something you might want to check out for your SIL. https://www.safelinkwireless.com/EnrollmentPublic/home.aspx (https://www.safelinkwireless.com/EnrollmentPublic/home.aspx)
Sarah, perhaps your father would want to consider not reading the website if it distresses him. I know that is probably easier said than done. Sure hope you all are not going to experience another dust bowl.
Mario, thanks for sharing that beautiful picture and accompanying narrative.
Etta Sue, isn't 50 pounds of pressure really a lot? Hope they find the problem for you. You can't beat having the table delivered to your door rather than hassling with it in your car.
A little more like April for a couple of days, then on Monday possibly up above 70, with thunder showers. After that a drop back to the 50's. There are still some patches of snow, but they're getting smaller all the time. Where there used to be big piles of the white stuff it's now squishy and muddy, but sooner or later that will be gone, too.
Sarah, I sure wish I could send some of these puddles your way. :(
Good Morning from Oregon. All is well here, it is looking gloomy outside, it's supposed to be cloudy all day but I am hoping for a little sun to peek through clouds. Keith has gone off the the tire store to get two tires replaces on the Camaro. The left front has not been stay up for over a week, he has had to air it up at least twice a day.
Both dogs got their Rabies and Bordatella shots yesterday as well as the yearly physical. Both got a clean bill of health, Happy has to have a blood draw next month to check his thyroid, kidney and liver functions.
We will be going on vacation for 5 days in the middle of May, I couldn't get any other reservations, so this year instead of 10 day we only got 5. Bummer! It is still very cold at Sunriver I think we will be taking warmer clothes this year.
Janet I am still praying for your mother and Beth.
Larry I am glad to hear that Stacey is feeling better albeit tired. She has really been through the mill with her health.
I see I have to change my time zone, better go do that.
I noticed that my map location on the house is off. It was correct at first but something changed. Did we move again and I didn't know it??? :D
I feel better - I just wrote two paragraphs in here about our living with a hearing impaired husband who hears words distorted most of the time and then I erased my notes. We are thankful for so many blessings.

I, too, wish I could send some of this rain back west to Kansas and Oklahoma. We are having a gentle rain but with lightening and thunder. The lights have flickered a few times but haven't gone out yet!
Well, I got Ivalou home after rehab, eating breakfast at Perkins and getting our haircut. I didn't even come in the house...purr girls didn't like that since they get wet cat food around noon. I went to my garage and went to Pendleton. The man checked the air in the tire and said it was still 50#....no leak. All I know is THEY touched that tire last before it was half flat...flat enough that I wouldn't have driven it over a mile!! I am not saying....but it doesn't make sense that it leaked that much air on its own and the next day there is no leak!! So they made all the tires 40#...which I think is still too much air and I came back home. I haven't checked the tire since! Now you know why I, a woman, do not like to take my car to a garage to be worked on!!
When I got back home, my little table (http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/689845/Realspace-Folding-Table-Molded-Plastic-Top/)
was on the deck. I love it! It serves the purpose for what I want...to use the laptop in the living room and not on my lap. And when I decide to change, it will fold up and hide in a closet!
Not much planned today. I got to sleep in this morning. I have done some out of the ordinary chores. It's raining. So I will probably read this afternoon.
God Bless You All.

Carol Pat's and my father was hearing impaired. I understand the challenges that you have. DAD USED TO SAY "Speak slower, and enunciate your words!" Also I found if I changed the wording it helped. Louder is not better....at least with Dad. I seem to be developing his hearing problem to some degree, perhaps it is age. His was caused by working in a loud noise environment.
John and I just came from the bush. I need to get myself a pair of wellingtons, or wellies as some call them. The snow in the bush is at least a foot deep and in places deeper. John would sink to his calves!!! I envied the 3 dogs. They can run on top of the snow at a merry old pace. We have enough trees down from wind that we will have about a third of our wood supply. If we move out the standing dead we will have more. It is so refreshing out there I would love to have a cabin back there, it would be a lovely guest house or hunt cabin for guests. There are all kinds of mole tracks out there, the hawks can feast this year. Didn't see any deer, I suspect they went into hiding, the dogs were with us and would have run them off.
How are you doing Janet. Praying here.
Judy, you're right. It's not always the volume but the clarity that's the problem. Even with hearing aids in both ears I still need to have "closed captioning" on the TV. And the telephone can be frustrating, especially with some of these youngsters who need constant reminding to slow down and speak more clearly.
I hear you Jeanne.
Darrel is home! :) :) :) That makes me so happy! And he is happy to be here, too. The Senior Prom is tonight, guess we will go. In deference to the age of the group, it will be over at 9 PM. ;)
I had a hard morning. Went to the home and found Mom in ever worsening condition, she wasn't responsive at all, and the nurses said she'd been in terrible pain and they gave her liquid morphine, plus the Lortab and the pain patch. It's so hard watching the death process.
And besides that, I was there when they brought Beth back to her room from her shower. Her poor legs are stiff as pokers, it takes two girls to dress her. I am aware how bad her condition is, but seeing her without clothes really brought it home, hard.
Darrel looked closely at me and said the strain is showing in my face. I noticed that too, this morning when I put on my makeup.
And now I think I will go type some more.
Judy & Jeanne - I'm glad you're typing in these messages, or otherwise I'd have to ask you to slow down and speak distinctly! With most people, the volume is quite loud enough, but the enunciation just doesn't do it.
Judy, Jeanne and Al - my pals. thanks for letting me lean on your shoulders for a bit. We really do work things out but I worry constantly about his safety. He can't distinguish sounds like a car running or anything. Well, that is enough from me. I use those t.v. ears too because it is great for foreign accents (like Texans or such). ::)
Don is watching his old school UMD (Duluth, MN) playing hockey against Michigan. UMD is such a much smaller school & it is amazing they are in the running. I replanted some geraniums that we brought home from AZ. It is windy & am trying to block a sweater outdoors & all was picked up & landed all over the deck - just another day in Colorado. But - we can see awful brown/gray sky because of fires in the foothills.
An old recipe of an egg/bread/cheese/sausage bake is in the fridge setting overnight for the oven tomorrow morning to be served with fruit and whatever.
Brought home two books from the church library and one is "Finding Home" an imperfect Path to Faith and Family by Jim Daly, pres. & CEO of Focus on the Family. What a tough beginning in life. I don't know if he still holds that title.
Hello folk:
It is nearing the time that I or Mel will go to the Tim Horton drive through for some hot chocolate I think perhaps it will be me going as Mel has been in a lot of pain, yesterday was his first day of therapy but we are also to get rain starting tomorrow afternoon, yes I think that is part of the problem but not all poor man.
Just to get out of the house I went over to Bolton's Giant Tiger to check out some metal butterflies I did not care for them so money spent. On my way I had picked up my aunt and yes this time we also had a banana split from Dairy Queen aunties idea. She was so pleased for the chance to go out.
So much to pray for and so much also to be thankful for.
I wanted to let my friends here know that Mom made her transition from earth to heaven this evening at 7:55. I was with her at the time of her death, and count that a privilege.
"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
Janet I am praying for you and your family. I left you a message on Facebook.
She is now in the arms of Jesus. The saint who have gone before are rejoicing at her arrival.
Janet, I am so glad that you had the chance to be with your Mom. I'm sure all your friends, here, will have you in their thoughts and prayers as we attend services tomorrow.
Lots of hugs going your way!!
Thanks for the information, Janet. <3 I know you are feeling the loss already, but aware of the fact that your mother is free of her pain. She truly has "gone home" now, and you can look forward to being with her again.
I'll be praying for you, and the rest of the family, in the days ahead. <3 <3
:) Janet: Thanks for letting us all know that your Mum is home in Glory. She is with her Jesus and in no more pain Praise the Lord. Will pray for all of your family. God's richest Blessing's. Gord and Noreen. <3 <3
Praying here for you and your family Janet.
I am glad that you were able to be with her. <3
Hello Friends
A little rain here in NC today with a high of 74 today and a whopping 86 for tomorrow. I believe it's going to be a HOT summer, just hope we can continue to get rain.
Got to get ready for church, don't want to be late for Sunday school. I'll be back later. :)
Have a blessed day and remember God Loves You!

It is suppose to be to 80 degrees today so this kitty isn't for Indiana.
Janet. I can only imagine the home-going that your Mom had. I know she is delighted to be in the arms of Jesus and to see all her family and friends that are there also. What a reunion! She can't come back to you but someday you will go to her.
A lazy afternoon yesterday. I watched a movie and some TV shows. I even took a nap. I had my front door open with a full glass in the outside door. I dreamed that someone was knocking on the door and then I could hear laughing. My mind said to ignore them for laughing. Then I realized it was the TV...bang, bang music and yes, laughing! I went back to sleep.
I am taking my Bose speakers to Sunday School this morning and hopefully the class will hear the Bible verses from John 11 on my Droid. I love the man's voice on NLT version and when it is a woman talking, a female voice talks. The man is great in disguising his voice for different people.
Tonight is Small Group. Not far away. Two miles south of me but I can't drive through the fields so it will be a 3 mile trip! ha!
My tire still had 40# in it last night.@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@

Janet, my prayers and sympathy for you and all your family.
Oh Father! How short our lives are on this planet. Oh thank You, Father, for opening the way to Heaven through Your Son! Thank You, Father, for making it possible for Janet to be with her mother at the last, and Oh, prepare us for the same transition through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hi everyone. We set a record yesterday for high temperature. It was 86 degrees. We are still getting by without turning on the AC but if the humidity continues to rise it will be on. I haven't had to wear my sweater for the last three days.
Janet, my heart goes out to you as know the loss of a parent, even when we know it is time, creates a big hole in our hearts. Being with family, crying together and laughing together as good times are remembered helps but we still must go through the grieving process. Intellectually we know it is the time, emotionally we don't because we care so much for our loved one. Jesus will wrap his arms around you and walk with you during these next days.
Etta Sue. I would think the Bose speakers would make it easy for you class to hear the reading. I think I would also be a little concerned about the garage and the tire and perhaps look for another place to do business. Of course, maybe the tighter air pressure caused the tiny leaking spot to reseal, just a guess.
Don, it sounds like our weather front with the very high temperatures is headed yourway. It is just a little after 9 am and we are already up to 66 degrees.
Ruth, a trip to Dairy Queen is always a welcome treat. I love the Blizzards made with the Heath Bar toffee. I can't allow myself to visit one very often. Sorry to hear that Mel is suffering so. My daughter suffers even more than usual in stormy weather and rainy days.
Carol, several of my coffee drinking friends have hearing problems and wear hearing aids. My best friend is always forgetting to bring them with him to coffee and we have a lot of laughs when he thinks we said one thing but said another. Fortunately he know we are laughing with him and not at him. We have a set of the TV Ears also but not really very happy with them. They don't work all that well for us and the little pieces hurt Pat's ears. I got them hoping we could turn the volume down a bit but some things just have to be tolerated.
Judy, is the bush at the back part of your property? I can't image still seeing snow after the heat wave we have been having.
Marilyn, you can start counting the days now until vacation time. Too bad you couldn't go for the 10 days you wanted but expect your dogs will be happy to have you home sooner.
Jeanne, glad to hear you are finally getting some warm weather. Maybe the 70 degree day will finish off the snow.
A special hi to Al, RuthV, Gord and Jane. Enjoyed your postings.
I have opened a new page for us to send our condolences to Janet and her family HERE (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=11683.new#new) Let us continue to pray for the family in the days to come.
:) Good afternoon to all. It is a very pleasant day here as the temp. goes but it is overcast. We had a very good service and the children took part in the service and then they will also be doing their Easter service I think next week but we cannot be there as it is the Sunday our grandson's are being dedicated so we must not miss that. :)
Don: Could you send up some of that nice weather from N.C. it would be nice if that were possible.
Al: How are you and the wife getting along ? I hope that you are feeling good but if you are not we are still remembering you.
Judy B. Have you heard from Pat. Did she arrive safely in Virginia I do hope so. How is John that was a very nice picture that I saw of John when he got his award to do with the trucking industry. God Bless Sis. Love Gord and Noreen.
Etta Sue. Hope all is well and as per usual you are always busy look after yourself and of course Ivalou.
To all others have a wonderful week and may the Lord give you many opportunity's to be a witness for him <3 :cp:
Still praying for rain and for Janet. Last night I am not sure of a firefighter company that was not out working. We were able to see a fire that was South East of Dumas last night while driving on 287. The flames were HUGE and the fire had tons of fuel. There was a fire that threatened Channing and one north of Keyes. We had on in Keyes but it was quickly distinguished before the town was majorly threatened. They are predicting the winds to be close to 60 MPH today :( means a bigger fire danger and since we are so dry even the blowing dirt can spark a fire due to static electricity. PRAY FOR RAIN TO THIS DRY DRY AREA PLEASE! They are now predicting that we are drier then they were in the 1870's (so even before the dust bowl). On a brighter note Ruth got a new pottychair and is fixing to start potty training.
Sarah
Hello from a very wet Vanc. Island. Even my cat Misty has given up and is sleeping on my bed.
Janet, I am glad that you were able to be with your Mom when she went home to Jesus. Have prayed for all of you and for Beth.
At the moment I am struggling with a virus that is now going to prevent my second cataract surgery on Wed. Now gone into my chest. So will have to phone and cancel on Monday and hope it doesn't take months to get an opening for the surgery. Trying to see clearly without glasses is kind of a problem......
I have a new HP windows 7 computer and it is so different from XP and my slow old Sony VAIO. Wanted to put my old computer on SIL's wireless and he said not to spend any money doing this. Shaw was costing me $54.00 per month and it was a waste with his setup. Tried that when I came here but it messed up their computers. Was the Tech. who did that but went to my own internet to save them a problem. Has kept rising in cost every year. The kids bought me this super new HP and won't let me pay for it. I wanted to pay. They are not wealthy so this is a very generous gift that I tried to refuse.....Some people are blessed with money, I am truly blessed with my family here.
Larry, I have questions for you. I was using AVG paid version and this machine came with a Norton 2011 security for 60 days trial. I was not too happy with the new AVG and debate using it even tho' paid for a new year. How good have you found Norton's? SIL likes it a lot and it does seem more computer friendly. Asked on SR.& FR. and got one for one against....In past years, about 4, I did not find it great. Seems to be highly rated now. What do you think? Also, do you like the new Expl.9? I find it pretty nice but still trying to adjust.....Questions, Questions.
Guess it is time to go back and lay down with Misty. Love reading about all of you and feeling close to the Lord for a little while. Gets harder every year without a church. Had a real nice little blessing the other night. My sister phoned from Australia and sounds fine. She will be 90 next month, 12 yrs. older than me. Told me that she loves me....first time anyone in my family has ever done that. I was not even sure if she was still alive as we lost touch for a number of yrs. So that was pretty special.
Be-lated Happy Birthday Jane. :)
God Bless,
Liz
Here I am in the McDonald's Parking Lot in Winchester, VA thinking of you all and especially thinking of Janet.
It's time to start a new "Thoughts for the Week" so HERE'S A LINK (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=11684.0).
