Happy Birthday Canada and United States of America
"Now the Lord had said to Abram: Get out of your country, from your family and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." {Gen. 12:1-3}
In this communication from God to Abram, we discover three distinctive promises and we may refer to the three as - the land promise, the national promise and the spiritual promise.
1. The Land Promise: "A land that I will show you."
2. The National Promise: "A great nation."
3. The Spiritual Promise: "All the families of the earth shall be blessed."
As we consider this week we are looking at two notions whose birthday is this week. Canada and the United States Of America. There is another great Nation we should consider. That nation is Israel, God prophesized that Israel would become a great Nation in Genesis.
This nation went through periods of disobedience, captivity, return from captivity, and a period of obedience again. This cycle was repeated many times in the Old Testament. It is an exciting story of reality and truth. Not fiction, that so many read for momentary excitement. As we read through the life of this nation we can parallel the times of rebellion, captivity and revival to those of our own nations.
At this point in our histories; wrong is right, truth is false, righteousness is condemned, and sin glorified. These are again the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, however we have from the Bible the consequences of those days. The Bible doesn't just contain truth; it is truth. It not only points us in the right direction, it convicts us of our sin and warns us of the consequences of disobedience. God is giving us time to repent, as nations as well as individuals.
We must remember that God is not only a God of mercy and grace, He is also holy, just, righteous and a judge. We must be aware that Gods Judgement will come upon us as a nation as well as upon us as individuals. Let us all repent and follow the edicts of the Bible coming from a Holy God

All to Jesus, I surrender;
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessèd Savior,
I surrender all.
All to Jesus I surrender;
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power;
Let Thy blessing fall on me.

THE BILLOWS ROLL OVER MY SOUL
The billows roll over my soul
It's tossed about in the angry waves
But they cannot shock the solid Rock
Of the One who eternally saves
I am anchored tight in the storms of night
To the One who will not move
Battered in the storm of the billows that form
But His steadfastness to me He will prove
My ship it falters in the raging of the waters
It shudders with groaning to break apart
But I am anchored fast in the awful blast
And He brings such calmness to my heart
The lightings flash, the waves would dash
To sink in the depth faith's feeble boat
But the anchor chain it will remain
And the hand of God keeps my soul afloat
Rage white foam but I am heading home
In the distance beckons the golden shore
Though the spiteful gale tears at my sail
He still guides my ship with His mighty oar
The billows roll over my soul
But soon the angry storms will calm
Though they did test, God's harbour of rest
Is the place you will find I am

Hi there I am a bit of a stranger so I hardly know myself! I was chatting to Gordon Brown on the phone the other day and he invited me to drop in so here I am no wiser than I ever was. I see quite a lot of the old old old and really old friends are still here which is good! I shall have to catch up on what you are all doing. My friend Kaye has been playing some of my song/poems sung by Gerti Blackwell on her radio Gospel programme which is really nice of her as the songs are not professionally done but only recored at home!
Take care now. God bless
Welcome back, Colin. I hope you'll be with us more often now, and posting your wonderful songs. :thumbsup:
Thank you so much Jeanne!
MY IRISH EYES
When I bow my head and pray to you
Tears fill my Irish eyes
All because you love me so
And for me it never dies
Chorus
You make my heart feel
Like it never felt before
You make me feel special with all the love you send
And I love you dear Saviour friend
When I lift my head to sing your praise
Smiles fill my Irish eyes
For you are my trustful friend
And the One who never lies
Chorus
You make my heart feel
Like it never felt before
You make me feel special with all the love you send
And I love you dear Saviour friend
When my head wears a crown some day
Glories fill my Irish eyes
On the far bank of the Jordan
My soul forever lies
Chorus
You make my heart feel
Like it never felt before
You make me feel special with all the love you send
And I love you dear Saviour friend

Hi everyone. Today we are suppose to have a minor reprieve from the record setting temperatures of 106 degrees we have both Saturday and Sunday (the highest ever recorded for our area regardless of date). Yesterday was sort of a lost day for me as didn't have energy to do anything after getting home from breakfast out. I am hoping today is better as my men's luncheon group is meeting at a new place for us and I have an activity I want to attend tonight. The housekeepers are here this morning and one of them wanted my old office chair and got it out of my office.
Judy, thanks for the devotional thoughts for us to ponder this week. It is sad that we as a people have to keep repeating the same patterns of rejection of God and the truths he has given us in the Bible. I read an article about the Chick-Fil-A chain being attacked because they have always closed on Sunday and their corporate goal is to glorify God in all they do. It just made me very sad to read the article as it seems anything that represents good is being torn down.
Colin, what a pleasant surprise to see your name on the posting and to see you are still writing your wonderful poetry/songs. Are you still doing your gardening and how is your health?
Hi Larry and so nice to be in touch with you again. I am doing ok healthwise. Well I am diabetic now so have to watch that and have a few other things not going so good but I am ok. I am still gardening although it is very wet here at the moment. I trust you are keeping well Larry.
God bless.

What a very pleasant surprise to see that Colin finally woke up across the pond from most of us! Great to see you here and to hear your words in song. Beautiful. I have 'TuneIn Radio' on my telephone. Must see if I can get 102.4 Shine FM on it! I love that type of music. But I love all types of 'good' music! Thanks bunches!
I have had the same cell phone number for 7 years. In the first I would get calls from prosecutors, credit card collections, lawyers, doctors, etc...for a Sara Denny. Saturday, Sunday and today I got about 7-8 calls that was from '?'. I didn't answer. Today at 11am, I did. They wanted to talk to Sara Martinez. I found out this was Sara Denny or is Sara Denny now and that they have been looking for her since 1987!! I sure wish she would be found and that she quits giving out my phone number!! Seven years is enough!
It looked like rain several times yesterday but it never rained. Ivalou and I went to her g-granddaughter's 1st birthday party. Brenna is one today. So many kids yelling and screaming. I am sure not used to that and I noticed that Ivalou cringed while sitting most of the time! She said she was afraid one of them was going to knock her over. But Brenna is a cutie....the happiest little girl I have ever seen. When we sang 'Happy Birthday' she even seemed to be embarrassed but smiling all the time. And she really dug into her little birthday cake with pink icing that ended up all over her face and hair!! Cute!
And no, the tree trimmers have not been back yet. I am waiting until it gets cooler and then I am going to call again. I still feel I have been duped but I have a trailer in my back yard that I would like to be moved and out of here. The money does matter but the inconveniences he has left me with may cost me more money to rectify! When a crisis happens to me, I pray. So I have been praying that Randy gets lots of jobs so that he will mend his ways and be honest in his dealing with the public.

See you still have that giraffe Etta!
Etta Sue it may not be an issue of giving out your number....It may be an issue of a person who reverses numbers. For instance our number used to be 6823, many times I told people 6283. That is a problem with some people, like me!!! A real problem on Math exams! I would fail because of reversions.
John and I have worked outside all day, and we are feeling it. Bye for now.
Good morning to all. And as you see the night hawk is still awake. I have been reading through the post's and very interesting to see what you are all up to. Well the great news is that Noreen and I are going to be grandparents again. The baby is due in January. My oldest son and wife are the ones having the baby. :)
There little one is very happy that mummy is going to have a little baby. :thumbsup:
When I called Colin in Northern Ireland I told him that we needed to here some more of his great writings and I am so glad that he did listen to me we had a great talk and he is a very funny guy. :thumbsup:
Larry and Pat. I do hope that you both look after yourselves in this very hot weather please do not go out if stays so hot. We have had very hot days here but not the humidity as high as your getting. :)
Etta Sue. Have you got any more work done on the trees or are they just laying there. I do hope that this person is not going to rip you off. :ticked:
Well I must go for now. May the Lord richly bless you and give you all a safe and great week and to those close to the fires in the states may you be protected by the Lord's power through his will.
Gordon and Noreen. :) :cp: :bananadance: :pine:
Hi everyone. Yesterday we had a reprieve on our weather as it only got to 92 degrees and the rest of the week is to be about the same. I felt so much better yesterday than I had for a couple of days. Yesterday my men's Monday lunch group ate at a new place for us and we all liked it. It is one of the many places in the county seat of Lawrenceville and was right on the square across from the old court house. Today should be a relatively light day but do have to go back to Kaiser to have another blood test done in preparation for Friday. I need to go there to pick up medicine anyway and just hope it is there as it is filled at a central pharmacy and sent to the community Kaiser facility once-a-day. I need to get the new printer I got for Pat's use out of the box and setup in her office.
Colin, I am having my pacemaker/defibrillator replaced on Friday but otherwise doing OK. That is just do to the elapse of time and the battery running down after about 6 1/2 years of use.
Etta Sue, how annoying to get calls for someone after seven years. I know the phone companies reuse numbers. Is Jason back at his home as see the special place on Facebook for updates about him is no longer active? I know they were preparing to bring him home to care for him, which must be overwhelming for his parents. Sorry to hear that the tree trimmer has never returned to complete the work.
Gord, another grandchild is always exciting. Will this be the second child for your son and DIL? Pat and I are staying in where it is cool for the most part and never outside longer than to get from the car to where we are going and the return part of the trip.
Good morning to all. I had a rough night and it seems that the Vertigo may not be completely gone and that is a pain as we are supposed to go today to visit my best friend and his wife and stay over for a couple of nights and when I feel like this I do not want to drive. <3
Please pray that the Lord's will will be done and if we do go today he will give us safety on the highway. :thumbsup:
Al; I am thinking about you and your next drivers test and it must get frustrating after you have been driving for so many years. :)
Well have a wonderful day and God bless you all. Gordon and Noreen. :) :laff: :banana: :cp:
Gord, that vertigo is not fun, I know. I pray the Lord will take it from you and that you will have a safe drive and enjoyable visit with your friends, and that if that's not His will that you will be content and have His peace.

Jason is still in Atlanta. His mother is home and had to go back to work. His Dad is with him. He went to surgery this morning at 11:30am to have a pain pump put in/installed. He has been 'storming' a lot and that is due to pain somewhere. His release date has been changed many times due to him having some setbacks...ICU and this surgery. I saw Sheree Sunday evening. She looks sooo tired. And her sister said Sheree is very worried to bring Jason to their home...she feels so inadequate. She works at a nursing home but in the office...not with the patients. There have been so many ups and downs with Jason, she is afraid something will happen and she won't know what to do or get help in time. That would be a concern for many of us in that situation. Today is day 118 since his accident, March 8th!!
And yes, Gord, I hear a ripping sound that seems to be coming from a guy named Randy. I am giving him until the middle of the month, then I am calling the police to find out what I can do legally with this trailer in my back yard!! I am a nice person. Why me??
I just don't know why Me does nothing for days and days but sit and read and then try to do everything in a few hours!! I went to the pool, ate lunch, got cat food and everything else at WalMart. Came home and put everything away. I checked GasBuddy on Droid and it said gas at Lapel was $3.179 so I went up there. I circled the lot and came back home without gas. It was $3.459. They raised it!!! So I didn't buy it!! Pffftttt!
I can't believe this short corn this year. It may be 3-4 foot high and generally it is 7 feet high by now!! There are little ears of corn on it and it has already tassled! You generally can't look across the top of a corn field and see the tassles...looks weird! And the soy beans are short and tiny too. The farmers aren't sure the combines will go low enough to get all the soy beans off! Bad year for farmers.
Not a cloud in the sky again today and suppose to be very hot again...in the high 90's. The flag across the road is barely moving. H O T!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

"Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them,

Words and Music by Dottie Rambo
I have no castles, no earthly kingdom,
But my cabin will do 'til I get home.
My mansion's yonder on the hills of Glory.
Oh, I hope my mansion sits near God's throne.
Chorus
Build my mansion next door to Jesus,
And tell the angels I'm coming home.
It doesn't matter who lives around me
Just so my mansion sits near the throne.
My mother's mansion may be close by me
Across the golden avenue.
She was the first one to teach me of Heaven
And the very first one, Lord, to tell me about You.
Chorus
Build my mansion next door to Jesus,
And tell the angels I'm coming home.
It doesn't matter who lives around me
Just so my mansion sits near God's throne.

Hello everyone and all the best to you Larry and your pacemaker. I have a friend who is just home from Nashville Tennessee and she cant believe how cheap your gas/petrol is. You ought to be buying it over here and then you would know how lucky you all are!
I enjoyed the chat with you Gordon!
God bless
Thanks to all who are praying about my driving test. Gord, it is indeed frustrating, inasmuch as I've been driving for 62 years and could probably teach the examiners how to frive. I was driving before most of lthem were born! So, yes, I'm frustrated. And it could certainly go wrong again, too. I don't know what would happen then - whether I could even retake it at all or not. Please continue to pray, as I know our Father can give me presence and quickness of mind. The test is next Mondayl. I need to heed the Scripture when it says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding."
"Bless the Lord, O my soul! Bless His holy Name! Bless the Lord O my soul, and forget not all His benefits."
Hi everyone. We were blessed last evening with a nice rain. My main activity today will be to get Pat's new printer setup for her. I just haven't felt up to dealing with it in the last few days as she can always access my printers if needed. Then I will use the rest of the day to rest and enjoy the day. Just back from coffee this morning as usual as we all agreed there was no reason we should not meet.
Gord, another bout with vertigo is certainly not a pleasant thing. Hope that is gone by today. Can your wife drive if needed?
Etta Sue, I can imagine the concern that Jason's folks must feel with facing him being home and the constant care that will be needed. So sorry to read of the additional surgery. Hopefully they will keep him at Shepard's Spinal Center until he is much better. I was able to get gas yesterday at the local Quik Trip for $2.98/gallon but it still was $3.12 at Kroger's where I generally get it. I wanted the tank full going into the weekend and the two trips we will be making to the Hospital, which is about an hour away. This is one of those years that being a farmer in your area wouldn't be a very pleasant thing.
Colin, I realize that our gas is inexpensive compared to other places in the world. I have a friend just back from Norway and he said it was over $10/gallon there.
Al, if you don't pass the test on Monday perhaps it is a sign to you that it is best for you not to be driving, as tough as that would be to accept.

Words & Music: John M. Moore
Days are filled with sorrow and care,
Heart are lonely and drear;
Burdens are lifted at Calvary -
Jesus is very near.
CHORUS
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Calvary, Calvary;
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.
Cast your care on Jesus today,
Leave your worry and fear;
Burdens are lifted at Calvary -
Jesus is very near.
CHORUS
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Calvary, Calvary;
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.
Troubled soul, the Savior can see
Ev'ry heartache and tear;
Burdens are lifted at Calvary -
Jesus is very near.

Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Calvary, Calvary;
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY...AMERICA!!
I am listening to 102.4 SHINE FM as I am typing. Sure doesn't remind me of Ireland! Sounds like my kind of music back in the 50's and early 60's!
I got a surprise last evening. The neighbor boy that trimmed my bushes last year, knocked on my door. His two big brothers were with him. Essentially, they wanted to do work on my trees if Randy doesn't come back....for nothing!! What? Why? They don't want me to feel bad because I was ripped off!! After talking with them for awhile, I came back in. I heard a rumbling. I looked out the front window and here they were with their golf cart and little wagon on the back, loading up the stack of wood in the middle of my yard and took it back to the woods. Bless their hearts!!
I am going to call Randy soon and find out what is going on and at least, tell him to come get this trailer and if not in two days, I am calling the police. It doesn't have license plates and the boys noticed that the serial number has been scratched off!! Dead give away that it is stolen!! The police have a way of knowing where someone lives by their cell numbers. I don't!
Ivalou and I are going to Applebee's at 4:30pm for another fundraiser for Jacob. I am doing laundry in the meantime...don't like smelling chlorine from my wet stuff from the pool!
And other bright and sunny day for the 4th! The flag is flying across the road so there is a breeze. And I do see some white fluffy clouds. It is already 93 degrees. We only had a few days of 90+ last year and this year, most of the days have been 90+ degrees. And it isn't August yet...our hottest month!! Ugh!!<: )) ))><<~~> <: )) ))><<~~< <: )) ))><<~~<

I am trying to overcome the jet lag. Was wide awake at 1 AM after going to bed early. Worked until 4, back to bed until 6:30. This afternoon I am having trouble staying awake. But we have Dr appt's in Amarillo tomorrow, so need to sleep tonight!
At the Denver airport, my smaller checked bag, when I picked it up off the carousel, the whole lid flew open and I dumped the contents onto the floor--what few were left! So then, I was watching for other things to come by, loose, and here came Darrel's shaving kit bag, with BOTH zippers open, and only a couple small items left in it! That meant going to the desk and telling/showing them the bag, they called the manager, who said they do cover zippers (on the suitcase) and told the lady to fill out a report, get the information from me, etc. He told her to call it "pilferage because of damage." Now, I know the zipper on the suitcase could have broken, but those on the shaving kit? No way! The first, and main thing I missed was my Bible! I told Darrel I sure hope whoever took it READS it! Now I need to buy another One Year Bible, as I am getting behind! Maybe I can get one tomorrow in Amarillo.
They told me to make a list of the things that are missing, then call them. Darrel is feeling bad because all the chocolate we bought is among the missing items. :( >:( :'( Me, too! I was planning on that lasting us for months and months!
Colin, thanks for the ride! I enjoyed going along with you and seeing your country, or a bit of it, anyway. Good to have you with us again. And......just WHOM are you calling old, old, old?? ;) :)
Etta Sue, so nice of the young men to help you out. And I hope Randy learns a good lesson from this experience. Go ahead and call the police about the trailer, enough is enough.
It is HOT and DRY and WINDY here. Ugh and double ugh. Beth wanted to go to the park today; they were serving free hamburgers and hot dogs. I told her it is too hot out for her, and I didn't want to be out in it, either. So we ate at the senior center, and she at the home--hamburgers both places! It would have been more punishment than pleasure for me to go to the park today. And we won't go for the fireworks display, either. Darrel won't go, and I don't want to go alone. I'm surprised they are even having it, with this drought.
See you later!
Hi everyone. Up and ready for another day. Yesterday was a sort of wasted day as felt so tired that it was a struggle to do much of anything. I had offered to take Pat out to dinner but we decided to stay in as just wasn't up to getting out. I was able to finish setting up Pat's new printer on her desk. It looks like this one will be a lot easier to use than the last one she had, which I have taken out of service. Today should be a quiet day after a very noisy night in our neighborhood with lots of fireworks. I even heard a few bangs (not close) about 3 am, which is really a very thoughtless action on someones part. Nothing on the schedule today except staying cool.
Etta Sue, what special neighbor boys you have to be that thoughtful. I wonder if it isn't time to call the police concerning Randy as in essence he has stolen from you by taking your money and not fulfilling the contract.
Janet, glad to see you are safely home, even with jet-lag. Bad news about your luggage and getting the chocolates. Interesting that they stole the Bible but we know that God does work in mysterious ways. You were wise to stay in where it was cool on the fourth.
The heard this piece yesterday and had to look it up and want to share it with you today:
THE WEAVER
My life is but a weaving between my Lord and me,
I cannot choose the colors He worketh steadily.
Oft times He weaveth sorrow, and I in foolish pride
forget He sees the upper but I the under side.
Not till the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly,
shall God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why.
The dark threads are as needed in the Weaver's skillful hand,
as threads of gold and silver in the pattern life has planned.

Good morning, Larry! I have been up since 4, so am getting gradually adjusted back to the time here in this hemisphere.
Last night I was dreaming that someone had robbed me, and was chasing me through a long hallway of some kind. I was trying to yell, "HELP!" but couldn't get my voice above a mutter. Darrel reached over and touched me, and the dream vanished. I was so relieved! I asked him this morning if I was yelling for help, and he said he couldn't understand what I was saying. That's the first bad dream I have had and remembered in a very long time.
We have to drive to Amarillo to the doctor today, and I don't know when I have wanted to do anything less! But I guess we will go and get it over with for another 6 months or a year.
I wish for all of you a cooler and much blessed day!
Well, we heard a few bangs last night, but they were a little ways away. They petered out after midnight, so, all in all, tlhey weren't bad. I do appreciate our nation's birthday, but the fireworks and all seem unnecessary to me. It's an awful waste of money every year that could be spent on better things. There - I'm as fourth-of-July scrooge!
I've decided that fireworks displays on TV are borrrring! :D
Our little town usually has a celebration the Saturday after the 4th, complete with river races, water ski demonstrations, games, food and of course fireworks set off on the bridge. But so far I haven't found any notice of it for this year. I wouldn't go, anyway, since it would mean driving after dark.
Janet, great to know you're home and we'll be watching for some of those pictures you took. Too bad such a great trip had to end with baggage problems - especially the loss of chocolates!. :(
Just a quick "fly-by" to see how everyone is doing before I am off the computer for a few days.
Larry, I hope you don't mind but I "stole" your post on The Weaver and am putting it on my facebook page...
Think more should see this wonderful message and reflect on it...

I called Randy twice last evening. No one answered and the voice mail hasn't been set up yet.
I set the alarm for 7:30am. Got up and was mowing before 7:50am. The more I mowed little twigs and limbs the more upset I got!! I sprayed some Round Up on some weeds and came in the house. I called the number again. This time his wife, Dawn, did answer. She said she was at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indy with her mother who had a heart valve replacement and not doing very good. She said she told Randy that he needed to get back to me and finish his job...that he never doesn't finish a job!! Also found out that he works for another guy and they have even been out of state working. But she said that Randy said he would come by here today!! Ha!
Then Tony called. They were doing something at his work today so Tony took a vacation day. I was telling him about the trailer and the serial number being scratched off and no license plate so we went out to look at it. I told him that I wished he had drove his truck so he could have move the trailer behind my garage so I don't have to see it and when I mow I won't have to see weeds around it. So after looking at everything, I suggested putting a screw driver in the hole in the back of my lawn mower and then put the part on the trailer that would go over the ball/screw driver handle and I could move it. We did and I did. ::)
Then after he left, I went over to Ivalou's. You can't see the road from her family room and I heard a truck or something take off. I wonder if it was Randy and he was mad because his trailer is gone??????
Now I am in for the day. Going to be another hot one out there. It is suppose to rain Sunday and be much cooler Monday!! If a man therefore purge himself from these,
he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified,
and meet for the master's use,
and prepared unto every good work.
II Timothy 2:21
Author: Mary E. Maxwell, 20th Century

How I praise Thee, precious Saviour,
That Thy love laid hold of me;
Thou hast saved and cleansed and filled me
That I might Thy channel be.
Refrain:
Channels only, blessed Master,
But with all Thy wondrous pow'r
Flowing thro' us, Thou canst use us
Ev'ry day and ev'ry hour.
Just a channel, full of blessing
To the thirsty hearts around;
To tell out Thy full salvation,
All Thy loving message sound.
Emptied that Thou shouldest fill me,
A clean vessel in Thy hand;
With no pow'r but as Thou givest
Graciously with each command.
Witnessing Thy pow'r to save me,
Setting free from self and sin;
Thou who boughtest to possess me,
In Thy fullness, Lord, come in.
Jesus, fill now with Thy Spirit
Hearts that full surrender know;
That the streams of living water
From our inner man may flow.

Hi, friends,
I am just about ceretain I've lost weight - imagine the gallons of perspiration of being in 104+ temps for a solid week! A friend laughed and said for certain I have been de-toxed!! ;)
Time for a rest, but just had to come in for a moment to say hello to all our friends and readers.
May our Lord bless us each today as He knows what's best for us.
Ruth Ann
I have been a busy bee as usual today. My day started with a shower getting dressed, then breakfast of some plain yogurt with flax meal and cinnamon, an egg cooked in the microwave and a piece of toast with almond butter. Off the gym next, then a 20 walk, colored my hair, checked email, prepared lunch. After lunch I mixed up a loaf of organic multi-grain bread which has about an hour left in the bread machine, Bathed Happy, took the dogs each for their walk, and now I am here.
:) Well I guess that I will be first for today. I am feeling a bit better but still taking the med's for the Vertigo and I think that they are working. Ihave looked over the post's and as per usual always interesting. We were away for a few days visiting with friends and had a wonderful time but still had some dizzies so my buddy did most of the driving. :)
Etta Sue. I am so glad to see that you have some good young people that are willing to help. I also think that you should continue to go and get this matter solved and you may even get some of your money back. :thumbsup:
Janet: Good to see you got back home safely and it is hard to get your body back into the routine to get going properly great that you had such a wonderful trip but a sad ending at the airport. :ticked:
Al. My wife does not drive a car and I wish that she did but that is life try to relax when you go and as you said give it all to the Lord and he will direct your paths. :thumbsup:
Larry and Pat. Hope that you are well. I just got the phone with Earl Kauffman whose other name as we know him is PAPPA SMURF on C.P. He said that he tried to get back into the sight and also talked to pat and I think the provider but had a problem so I hope that you don't mind but I gave him your phone number and you may be able to help him get back into the site. So he may call today and try to get you. God's blessing's. Gordon and Noreen. :coffee:
Judy B. Thanks for my old pastors hymn John Moore Burdens are Lifted at Calvary and he wrote it back home in Scotland Hi is such a wonderful man and true to the gospel. He wrote a lot more in hymn's and poems :thumbsup:
Pat and Paul. We all miss you and we know that this is a very hard time for you both. I am sure that all from C.P. are continuing to pray for the parents and family of this precious little one but we all know that she is in Jesus arms. We all love you and the Lord will give strength daily. Gordon and Noreen :)
Well as you can all see it is time that I should be in bed and I am going to go. Good night or good morning.
Love in Christ to all. Gordon and Noreen. :bible: :cp: :)
Hi everyone. I have a few minutes before my neighbor picks me up for coffee so wanted to post for today as have to leave about 9:45 am for the hospital and won't be home until tomorrow sometime, depending on what time my son and DIL can get to the hospital to pick me up. Pat is taking me today and know that is going to be a struggle for her. My procedure isn't until 1 pm so it will be a long day of waiting for her and then she faces the hour drive home. Fortunately, she knows a back way to avoid having to get on the Interstates.
It was hot here again yesterday and got up to about 97 degrees. However, last night we had thunderstorms and a very good rain. Rain is in the forecast for the next several days and it will be welcome.
Janet, I have had the same experience with dreams where I will be calling out for help and it wakes Pat up so she wakes me up and I am grateful. I had the eeriest experience of my life a few nights ago. I had been asleep but when Pat came to bed it caused me to awake and when I did I saw this women at the foot of the foot in an almost invisible but visible shape. I looked over at the wall where our light switch has a built in nightlight and it seemed to float down on the wall. Then it all disappeared. I know I was still dreaming but it really frightened me although there was no threat involved. Hope you all don't think I am losing it but what an experience. Hope your trip to Amarillo went well yesterday.
Al, I certainly agree with you on the waste of money for firecrackers but many people enjoy them. I think the big public displays are the way to go although question public funding of these displays--private businesses doing so it their business. However, the public displays do bring a community together for a short while.
Jeanne, the fireworks displays on TV are boring but we can always control the volume level and that is a plus. I didn't watch any of those programs this year but usually do.
Joyce, good to see your posting and "The Weaver" was found on the internet and not mine personally. Someone else had posted it on a page with some poetry and it was sourced, which I liked.
Etta Sue, I hope yesterday was the day for Randy to finish his work. Good for you moving the trailer so your yard looks nice.
Ruth Ann, sure hope you aren't in that hot weather very long.
Marilyn, I was exhausted after I read your message. Busy day our had yesterday but sounds like you got a lot done.
Gord, glad that your meds seem to be working for your vertigo. Glad to see you were able to go and visit your friends.
Gord, no problem about giving my number to Earl although I will be gone most of the day and a good part of tomorrow. I will certainly do what I can when he calls.
It was not a good time for us to make that 400 mile RT to Amarillo. We are still jet-lagged from the trip, and after spending 2 1/2 hours in the doctor's office, we were hungry (no lunch) so went to Lin's Grand Buffet and ate a wonderful Chinese meal, then headed home. We did go to the Bible book store before going to our appointments, so I got my Bible replaced, with an even nicer one, as they didn't have one like the one I lost. Anyway, we had to really fight to stay awake coming home, and were so exhausted we were like a pair of stumbling zombies when we got here. We went to bed at 8:00! So maybe today we will feel more like ourselves.
Larry, if I saw something like that, my first thought would be that it was an angelic visitation! But I don't know about the light switch.. ;) I choose to believe that it really was an angel, sent to reassure you that all will be fine with your heart procedure today. Praying for you, my friend.
I have an 8:30 dental appointment, then will go to Pat's to get "hair repair." I am needing it, too!
Be seeing you all later!

Words by Lina Berg
Music by Oscar Ahnfelt
Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
I've no cause for worry or for fear.
He whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best
Lovingly, it's part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and with rest.
Ev'ry day the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
He whose name is Counselor and Pow'r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
"As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,"
This the pledge to me He hath made.
Help me then in ev'ry tribulation
So to trust thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith's sweet consolation
Offered me within Thy Holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E'er to take, as from a father's hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
'Til I reach the blessed, promised land.

I had a "J": night last night, wish these nights would end somehow.
We continue to be in a furnace up here, according to last night's weather it covers most of Canada. This is to continue until next week when there should be a break down to the high 70's.
I read all the posts. Larry continuing to pray for your procedure. Praying also for all the other needs spoken and unspoken here.
Northern Irish visitors are now back in Northern Ireland.
Two weeks ago today was Cayla's death. I never thought that this would be so very difficult as it has been.
Anyway, I'll try to be on here more now.
I'm having shoulder surgery on July 12th early in the morning so will be in a sling for 6 weeks. I'll be able to type with one hand.

Kaye Don called me last night to see if I had heard from Randy. We were talking and I said that Tony helped me move the trailer to behind the garage so I could mow under it and not have to see it out my windows. He said, 'Which side of your garage? I am outside and I don't see a trailer!' I said, 'South side.' He said 'There is no trailer there!' I told him that I believe him but I have to go out there and see for myself! IT IS GONE! So it was him that left around noon and gunning the motor! At least, it is gone and the limbs on it are gone, too!
I really don't care if I ever see him again. I don't think he could top this big maple and get all the limbs and such back to the woods in one day! I would be afraid he would top the tree and leave and then I still would have to get the clean up back to the woods!
I slept great last night. I tried to call the number for his wife but she didn't answer it. I wanted to tell her I was sorry I missed Randy when he was here. If they ask me why I moved the trailer to the back of the garage I am going to ask them, why are they questioning it? If I was trying to make two wrongs make a right, I would have put it in the garage and locked the doors! I wouldn't do that!
Tony called me last night. Charlene baby sits for Olivia and Charlie. Their Dad was coming to get them last evening and another car T-boned him at an intersection out in the country. He had the right of way but the 17-year old girl didn't and didn't stop! The Dad was killed. Phillip was 32-33 years old. So sad that these little kids have lost their father.
I have made three batches of cookies this morning to take to church for a bake sale tomorrow and to take to a reunion Sunday. I only ate one cookie...it broke taking it off of the cookie sheet! o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0

I just saw our temperature as being 25C or 77F. Looking out the window at our thermometer it is 30C in the shade or 86F.
Hi Pat!
Etta Sue at least the trailer is gone. So sorry about that accident. I'm thinking the driving age should be raised to 19 or 20.....Most seem to have more sense then.
So sad about the young father being killed. So many tragic things happening all around us. When I got home I learned two good friends of mine passed away during my absence.
I am praying for our friend Larry, and hoping he feels up to letting us know how he is ASAP. He has such a wonderful attitude about things! We could all learn from Larry.
It's about 100* here again today. Ugh. Darrel is taking another nap, and it sounds like a good idea to me, too! I left before 8:30 this morning and just now got back home. Errands! And I ran into friends at Alco and stopped for a nice chat.
Jeanne, I haven't even downloaded (uploaded? I don't know the difference!) any photos yet, nor even looked at them. But I hope to get to it before too long!
Later!
We are back from a drive and visit to a town north of Missoula, MT. Three nights of visiting with oldest son & family, they live here but have a place where they will "retire". Wonderfully cool of morning temps of 42*F and highs in the 70's. It is so green and they have had rain in that area so fireworks were lovely as we saw the town reflected in the lake. 2,000 mile round-trip - we just got groceries before coming in the house as two grands are coming to visit us tomorrow for a few days. It is actually raining a little bit here and how wonderful for a change.
Larry: You are in prayers.
Colin: How nice to "see" you again - it has been much too long.
Al: Greetings - I hope everything is going well for you.
Etta Sue: What a shame that the young man couldn't finish his job - he sounds so immature to me and will someday be in deep trouble. I hope your trees get the care you want.
Pat: We have sent up prayers for you and Paul and the entire family. Sorry to read that you are having shoulder surgery - did you not have the same type surgery some time ago?
I need to check with several neighbors - one for watering my flowers and now she went away today so I will water her flowers and other neighbor is battling cancer. Life is back to the fast lane again here - well, it is fast enough for this senior. Too fast at times.
Hi everyone. Just a short message to thank you all for your prayers and kind expressions of concern. The procedure was on time and lasted two hours. I experienced no pain and they put me out completely for a short period tom do a shock of the device but didn't feel a thing. Been in my room for over threes hours and still no pain and I am certainly not complaining. I will tell you about our good experience with wheelchairs getting us around in the hospital. I will write more when I get home.
MY JESUS
He is fairer than the lilies
Of the quiet and verdant field
He is my Rock to lean on
My defence and my shield
He is the Rose of Sharon
And His perfume fills the air
He is my friend and Saviour
And I am in His care
He is the note of sweet music
That is pleasant to the ear
He gives a new song to sing
That angels in Heaven hear
He is the One who refreshes
Like sparkling morning dew
He is the lovely Jesus
The One who's always true
Chorus
He is Redeemer Saviour Lord
Dwelling in my heart right now
He is my friend and yet my King
When to Him my head will bow
O my Jesus that I adore
I'll sing His praise for evermore
He is the Light shining brighter
Than sun of breaking dawn
He is the wind that blows softly
And bids the clouds be gone
He reminds me of His promises
When a rainbow arcs the sky
He bears me up on wings
Like the eagle that flies on high
Chorus
He is Redeemer Saviour Lord
Dwelling in my heart right now
He is my friend and yet my King
When to Him my head will bow
O my Jesus that I adore
I'll sing His praise for evermore
Can an artist paint His beauty?
Or a poet phrase it with word
Can a singer sing of His majesty?
And the wonder of the Lord
The beauty of this world
Is only a reflection I see
Of the splendour of my Jesus
Who is everything to me
Chorus
He is Redeemer Saviour Lord
Dwelling in my heart right now
He is my friend and yet my King
When to Him my head will bow
O my Jesus that I adore
I'll sing His praise for evermore
Colin Moffett
Good morning! Larry, thanks for letting us know you are doing well. God still answers prayer!
Colin, thanks for another lovely song, along with pretty graphics. So good to have you back with us!
I got up early and went for a 35 minute walk, so think I am almost back to being 'me' again. Now to get all my need-to-do stuff back in order. Onward and upward!
It will soon be time for John's visit, and need to start planning Beth's birthday party! Her friend Becki wants to come---all the way from North Dakota!
Have a beautiful, colorful, God inspired day!
Larry: Looking forward to your writing when you are home. Your procedure experience sounds like it went very well for you. Thanks be!
It is so cool and refreshing here this morning after weeks of smoke in the air it comes as such a blessing. This is the way our Colorado mornings are usually except now our humidity is higher with the heavy rainfall. Never mind, we will take the washing of our air any day. We are into the more normal summer monsoon season with extra moisture and the farmers are happy as well.
Colin, how lovely! I'm so happy you are posting these wonderful songs and your graphics are lovely. "It's better and better you're getting".
I would like to put that on my Facebook. It sure is nice right now for me after losing our precious Cayla Joy just two weeks ago.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I clicked on Colin's video and found his YouTube website! You could watch and listen for hours to this fantastic music. What I like best is you can understand every word!! That is unusual with today's singing! My question is...why are you driving on the wrong side of the road??
When I took the cookies to church last evening the outdoor temperature on my car said 106°!!! That was right out of my garage but coming home it was still 104°. At 9 pm it was still 100°. Yesterday the forecast on Droid showed rain tomorrow. Not today...shows no rain in the 7 day forecast!! Bummer!
Last year we only had a couple days of 90+ degrees. This year is way more than that with 100+ degrees! We had an unusually warm winter and now summer. If it keeps up like this instead of Snowbirds going south, Sandbirds will be coming north to Indiana!!
Not much planned for today. Just glad that Larry's procedure went well and hope to hear more from him soon. Glad to see that Janet is back to normal...whatever that is. And Carol is getting some rain and clean air!
And thanks, Colin, for the wonderful lyrics, singing and videos! ~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@

(Click for Music)
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
Refrain
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.
Refrain
I'd stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

I am so sad for your loss Pat. Its taking me time to catch up on everyone here! Of course you may use the video on facebook. Etta Sue its you that drives on the wrong side of the road!
It's wonderful to hear from you, Larry.
Looking forward to reading your next post.

Now I know. All these years I thought it was the drivers across the pond that drove on the wrong side of the road!
I am ready for church and then will go to a Family Reunion. I haven't been to this reunion for years. I am anxious to see who is still alive!
Ivalou called and she isn't going to go to church today. She is having pain in both of her arms. Three doctors can't figure out why this pain is but they haven't tested anything either. She says the only thing that helps is not to use her arms. Not good. I have noticed the last two times I went over in the afternoon, she still had on her night gown. Not good!

We were heading out the door for church when Darrel noticed it was only 9:30! They have canceled the early service, and the other one isn't till 11:15, so I decided to see who has been here this morning! Hello, Etta Sue!
I want to go see the kids/grands/great-grands this afternoon. Would have gone down for church but don't want to make Beth sit in her wheelchair so long.
It is cloudy here this morning, and I pray that means we will get some rain--please, Lord!
Our little Lexi won the title of "Little Miss Moscow" on the 4th of July--whatever that means! She is a cutie, though.
Really no news from my corner today. Hoping to read a post from Larry when I come back!
Glad to put you right Etta...well you are right on the road but not left so you are not right although you are right to be right in America but wrong to be right in GB
Hi everyone. It is going to be another warm day here in Georgia.
My generator exchange on my pacemaker/defibrillator went very well and I came home yesterday. As planned our son and DIL got to the hospital just as I was ready to be released. When we got back to the house we decided to go to Texas Roadhouse for a late lunch so the kids could celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with us. We then went to the custard shoppe where they enjoyed some of the custard. They stayed until about 6 pm and by that time I was ready to get into bed for the night. I slept well and it was after 9 am when I arose. I have had literally no pain in the incision area. I am not to lift my left arm above shoulder height and they sent me home with an arm sling, which I wore yesterday but don't need as am very conscious of the need for caution. I think in a couple of days I will be more energetic.
I have to share a story of what happened to us when we got to the hospital. The parking lot is down a fairly long slope. I wanted to drop Pat off at the check-in, check-out point but then she would have had no idea where the car was parked. So we finally found a place near the back of the lot and at the bottom of the hill and parked and started to make our way up to the hospital. We had to stop and rest a few times and then as we got to the walk for the front of the hospital, which had a steeper grade a very nice lady from the hospital saw us and ran down to help. She told us to stay there and she got a wheelchair for Pat and then when we were in the hospital she got one for me as it was a long walk to the heart area. Pat was able to get someone with a wheelchair to take her up to my room after the procedure and then when she left she got a wheelchair to the front door and one of the guards came in a golf cart and took her to the car. So the thing I had really worried about never happened, as is so often the case. Anyway we felt our guardian angel had looked out for us. Our daughter was there in her powerchair so we must have made quite a sight going up the hospital corridor.
I appreciate all the kind thoughts. I am going to read through the message but will limit my individual comments for today as seem to have written a book.
Think you all might enjoy this little musical video as most of us can relate: http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/6dbBfXCMbH4?rel=0
Good Sunday morning on this cooler and overcast day. Heavy rains and flooding are expected in the area and one son could not visit us last night because---they have 7 leaks in their roof and insurance has not given their opinion yet.
I have had red eyes for two days - think it could be from driving in all the smoke and dryness but will get it attended to on Monday if this has not changed. It could be contagious so I did not make it to church and Don is coughing as well.
Larry: Your guardian angel was watching you two once again. How wonderful that you are pain-free.
:) Good afternoon to all. Larry: It so good to here that you at home and doing so well and no pain. That is a miracle and praise to the Lord for that. We pray that this will continue for you and that Pat's surgery will also be a sucess .
Janet: It is also nice to here that you are getting back into the swing of things since you got back from your trip. I would love to be able to go to some of the places that you have visited but my health and my wife's health wont allow us to do that. :)
We had a special speaker at our church today and he is with the Brethren In Christ Churches Mission's. He has been ministering to the Navajo Indians for the last year in New Mexico and what a challenging job that has been as there is so much drug and alcohol problems since they are so young but it was a very interesting to here what he had to say.
Well talk to you all soon. Love in Christ. Gordon and Noreen. :thumbsup: :cp: :bananadance: :pine:
Hi, friends,
I've decided to rest a bit before going to the house today to open the windows and continue airing it out.
What a wonderful church service where our pastor began by asking anyone who had answers to prayer please tell us about it. Well, 30 years of prayer have begun to give answers - my son asked me to go with him to our old church last Sunday, then has shown such a change in his entire attitude. Now, prayer continues for God's blessing to become complete with a complete re-consecration and reconciliation with our Master.
And, another prayer is one of thanksgiving for keeping my health although I've been in temps that are outrageously hot both outdoors and in.
May our Lord's richest blessings be poured out on each of us as He feels best for us - isn't it wonderful that scriptures tell us he even knows before we ask what our needs are!
Love to all, Ruth Ann
