JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Marilyn, sometimes I'm a "guest" from work. We cannot participate in forums at work, and with more than 14,000 employees using the company computers and their band width, I can certainly see why they have to put restrictions on us.

But, occasionally, when I'm either low emotionally, or need to take a moment's break from deep concentration, I'll sneak in the back door for just a few moments.

Yes, I'm rested more now, and did a few of the daily things like grocery shopping, talking with a friend, etc.

Now, it's time to greet everyone before I head back in to work late this evening to try to meet Monday's deadline. Finally, about 11 pm, I awakened, and knew the final steps I need to take to get the work done.

I agree about those who are caregivers - they really must try to empathize, yet guide their clients.

My daughter in law was involved in an accident on the interstate while driving on her job not long ago. She was hit from behind so hard that now she's going to need back surgery for fusion of either two or three disks, with the third one being a disk removal, if the doctor can't fuse it.

There was some type of very painful test they performed on her yesterday that she said had her "crying like a baby." It involved inserting a huge, long needle from her side, into each disk, and making more pressure inside the disks so they could measure something about the damage done. She said, "Mom, I've borne two babies completely naturally without even an aspirin for pain, and this was FAR worse than either birth."

So, I would appreciate your prayers for them as they endure the pain with both of their bad backs (she's already had to have 2 back surgeries, and my son's had 4). And, for guidance for the medical personnel as they care for them.

Etta Sue, i hope you've improved even more and that you'll hear good results from the operation you've gone through.

Prayers for all the other requests. My prayer list goes with me everywhere I go and my Lord and I spend time with each other about all our prayer concerns.

It's good to hear from y'all - I hope Pat and Judy are enjoying their precious time together.

Y'all have a good remainder of the day.

Ruth Ann

G'mornin' y'all.  I came back from my trip, and lo and behold, things haven't changed.  You easterners are still up after us westerners!  C'mon, now, it's time to be up and at 'em.  We had a great trip to see our g'daughter graduate from highschool.  But it's certainly true that it's good to be home!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.

Welcome home Al.  Hope you had a wonderful trip.  Janet is now attending a family reunion, as I recall.  Guess it is that time of the year for graduations, family gatherings and vacations.  Pat was also away this weekend visiting Judy and family and those new little chicks.

Our daughter is here this weekend and looks and is feeling so much better now that the blockage in her heart has been opened with the new stent.  We are going to church in about 30 minutes and then out to eat, probably at the Golden Corral.

It is suppose to be pretty hot here today, up to 92.  We are very thankful for the rain we have received as things have really greened up.  More showers are forecast by the middle of this week but no rain today.

I will have to take our daughter back to her apartment later this afternoon.  I slept in this morning as was tired from a long trip we took yesterday to North Georgia.  When I started the car to make the return trip the service and security lights came on so suppose there are some new troubles.  It could be just a sensor misfiring and will see if the lights are still on this morning.  I think I will take it to the dealer this week for the 100,000 service and get a new timing belt.  We are about 5,000 miles short of the 100,000 but it has to pass inspection in about 3 weeks and this is going to need to be done soon anyway.

Ruth Ann, so sorry to hear of the back injury that your daughter experienced.  Our roads are so dangerous with so much traffic on our roads and the multiple lanes where people are constantly weaving in an out.  It sounds like back problems are a plague to your family.

Marilyn, I bet that caregiver fixed herself a good meal.  Isn't it a shame they don't show the same concern for those in their care.  I know you must be a super caregiver.

Etta Sue, glad that your cold is getting better and you should soon be able to talk again.  Might be hard to go to a baseball game and not be able to cheer.  :)

Hope everyone has a good day.

Marilyn

Larry I spoke to my patient last evening, and the other caregiver did NOT do any of the things I left instructions for her to do. No physical therapy, not meal, just took her out for a ride and to a restaurant to eat breakfast..

I had a nice time at Savannah's birthday party,. there was only the family there.
They got the cutest little dog about a month ago., a Miniature Pinscher named Boozer. he is 7 years old, They renamed him Bruiser or Boo Boo, he answers to both.  He kept sniffing at my legs smelling my dogs I assume. Then when I got home my dogs we sniffing me up and down smelling him. Dogs are such Characters, Aren't they?

Welcome Home Al. Glad you had a good trip.

Hello to everyone else to comes in today. I hope all y-all have a wonderful Lord's Day.

We went to Ohio to the ballgame.  Erik pitched the first three innings.  We got there on the fourth inning... :'(  Erik's team was behind 3 to 5.   :'(  Then Erik's team scored 7 points in one inning and won the game 12 to 5.  So they played the final game at 5pm.

Meanwhile we hunted some place to eat.  We went north and was out of town...no restaurants.  Then we saw the Urbana Airport and they had a restaurant.  Neat little place and you could see the activity on the runways and hangars.

Then we called to find out where the ball diamond was...wasn't at the same field as the other game.  We first filled up with gas at $2.68.9...that's a bargain. :idiot:  Then we got to the diamond just fine.  Erik's team got ahead 10 to 0 but they don't call the 10 point rule until after the 5th inning.  Then the other guys started scoring.  We scored some more.  They scored some more.  We scored some more and the game was called when the score became 9 to 19!!   :o

So Erik's team, the Kettering Fairmont Firebirds are champions!

But we still haven't seen Erik pitch yet!   :'(

Church was great and I stayed awake this week.  I went to a different Mexican restaurant.  I love Nacho Supremes so I ordered one.  I maybe ate two thirds of it.  I asked if they had half orders or a smaller order...No.  But it was great.

It is a balmy, 89° right now in Indiana.  Not a day to be outside in the sun.  So guess where I am headed as soon as I get caught up online.  Yep!  ZZZZZZzzzzzz!

I'm thankful that for the first time in several weeks I was able to be in church this morning. Pastor spoke about the importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives. A good sermon.

It's traditional for our little church's ladies to bake homemade pies for the fathers to take home for fathers day. The tables in the back of the church were groaning with pies!

Y'all have a nice day.

Pastor put on his teaching hat this morning and taught on Noah, the flood and dinosaurs. Many of you have heard of Kent Hovind. Well it was kinda like one of his  classes. Lots of interesting material, he threw in something funny every now and then. I am now multi tasking  more at church, I am also running the Power Point on the screen. The gal who usually does it took my place at the door, she multi tasks too, she is my assistant greeter/usher.

There is no prayer meeting or Financial class this evening because of Father's Day., so I came home walked the dogs, washed my car and now I have been reading on the computer doing some research on Whey protein powder. I am always on the lookout for things healthy and learning more about them.

That's all folks

Hi Folks

This has been a busy but a wonderful weekend.  We had company all evening Saturday with many dear friends.  Pat and Ruthie were up for the first time and Pat took lots of pictures.  You will have to ask her to post some!

This is Fathers day and John is alone in the Living Room I am closing for now
Just wanted to check in and say Hi!

Ruth

Yes this is Father's Day and all of our family called, then after dinner we met Sue & Bruce for our time of sharing.

Marilyn:  I know the frustration when caregivers seem to do things their way, I to had that experience , the caregiver was excellent in so many areas except meals and even at that she was good the problem she insisted on using salt when the doctor requested none, our way around that was calling her boss (which we did not like doing) and let them know that it was the Doctor's request, most times it worked.

To the rest have a good night.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6
