:) Quote of the Week
Be such a person and live such a life
that if everyone were such as you,
and every life a life such as yours,
this earth would be God's paradise.

Morning Devotional...
Paul's New Life
Acts 9:19b-31 NLT
Saul stayed with the believers in Damascus for a few days. And immediately he began preaching about Jesus in the synagogues, saying, "He is indeed the Son of God!"
All who heard him were amazed. "Isn't this the same man who caused such devastation among Jesus' followers in Jerusalem?" they asked. "And didn't he come here to arrest them and take them in chains to the leading priests?"
Saul's preaching became more and more powerful, and the Jews in Damascus couldn't refute his proofs that Jesus was indeed the Messiah. After a while some of the Jews plotted together to kill him. They were watching for him day and night at the city gate so they could murder him, but Saul was told about their plot. So during the night, some of the other believers lowered him in a large basket through an opening in the city wall.
When Saul arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to meet with the believers, but they were all afraid of him. They did not believe he had truly become a believer! Then Barnabas brought him to the apostles and told them how Saul had seen the Lord on the way to Damascus and how the Lord had spoken to Saul. He also told them that Saul had preached boldly in the name of Jesus in Damascus.
So Saul stayed with the apostles and went all around Jerusalem with them, preaching boldly in the name of the Lord. He debated with some Greek-speaking Jews, but they tried to murder him. When the believers heard about this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him away to Tarsus, his hometown.
The church then had peace throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and it became stronger as the believers lived in the fear of the Lord. And with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it also grew in numbers.

It is difficult to change your reputation, and Saul had a terrible reputation with the Christians.
But Barnabas, a Jewish convert, became the bridge between Saul and the apostles.
New Christians (especially those with tarnished reputations) need sponsors, people who will come alongside, encourage, teach, and introduce them to other believers. Find ways that you can become a Barnabas to new believers.
The Best of the Bible--365 Must-Read Bible Passages
Hi everyone. Even though it is Sunday I got up about 7 am. Of course we had the fallback hour last night so that really was like 8 am. It is overcast and suppose to be cloudy here today but up to 72 degrees with only a 20 percent change of rain. It is our plan to so to church this morning and then out to lunch and that will be the days activity. I will watch some football, especially this evening when the Falcons play. They are already having a record book season for them as have never won 7 in a row at the beginning of the season since the team started.
Janet, I just now sent you the article I mentioned. Have a great time in Branson. Thanks for the info on the play you will see as well as for the play "Noah". We really enjoyed our visit there except for trying to walk on the inclines, which neither Pat nor I handled very well. Sounds like a wonderful buy on the ebook reader, especially with the wi-fi as it will automatically download the books when you request it and you will probably be able to read email or get to the web with it unless it is just limited to ebooks. What brand is it.
Etta Sue, glad you are not having a sour throat at least. Hope you are feeling even better today but you are right about a cold having to run its course. I think Revelation is a very interesting book of the Bible. Years ago I took an online course on it and learned a lot. I also did a study of the book Daniel.
Janet, I am always amazed that family members can have the composure to get up at a funeral and speak. I never saw that done at funerals where I grew up but it quite common here in the south. I am just too emotional.
Carol, the last thing I saw on CPR was they no longer teach breathing into a person's mouth but rather just the use of chest compressions. Correct me if I am wrong. Were you speaking of the article I mentioned?
Etta Sue, thanks for the devotional thoughts for this week. I liked the phrase "tarnished reputations" as each of these folks is God's child and worthy of our friendship. We can hate the behaviors but need to see the hurting person underneath that behavior.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day of rest of worship.
Larry, thanks so much for forwarding the article. I signed up to receive them and also sent the email on to several people I think may be interested in it. The Sight and Sound theaters only show plays based on the Bible, and they spare no expense in producing them! Wonderful shows!
I was pretty disappointed in the Festival of Trees last night, as it was a fund raiser, which is fine, but everything was priced extremely high for the starting bid. So I didn't buy anything. My friend bought two cookbooks, which were reasonable, but I've been giving my girls the ones from my many years' collection. So I don't need to buy any more. In fact, I have learned it's easier to go online and search for a recipe, than to hunt through the cook books!
I plan to attend the high school musical this afternoon with two friends. The ones who have gone already say it's wonderful.
The article Larry mentioned does calm my fears, even though I already knew the truths expressed in it. But sometimes we allow our emotions to run away with us. Please, God, have YOUR way in our elections on Tuesday, and help us remember that it is YOU who sets up authorities, and YOU who casts them down. Amen
It's time to go get dressed for church. I've been up a long time, as guess who forgot to set the clocks back, even after all the reminders she heard?
I asked for prayer relative to my wife. She went to the local hospital today. They discovered that there were two meds she was taking that she shouldn't be taking. Pray that this change will be effective.
Al, I pray that change will be all it takes for Marbeth to recover! Praise God.
I attended the high school musical this afternoon with two friends. The kids did a wonderful job...the musical was All Shook Up, featuring Elvis Presley music.
I think I have all my stuff packed except for the last-minute items. We are to leave promptly at 7 in the morning. That means.....I'll see you Friday night or Saturday. Y'all be good while I am away, okay? ;)
Hi everyone. It is 39 degrees this morning here in the Atlanta area but it nice and clear. Yesterday we had a little bit of that 20% chance of rain but not enough to amount to anything. Pat and I did go out with the group after church for lunch, which we hand't done in a long time. I came home and took a long nap. I only watched half of the Falcon game last night as was tired and turned it off and went to sleep. Shirley, I see the Dolphins didn't fare well but just checked and the Falcons managed to win to remain undefeated. Nothing out of the ordinary on tap for today. I do need to go back to the phone store about my smart phone, which is overheating and not working properly. I need to get along for a couple of months and may just get an inexpensive phone and have my calls forwarded to it. Our men's lunch today is at a buffet we all enjoy. The housekeepers are coming tomorrow rather than there regular day today as one of them has jury duty. We do expect the yard people to come by and clean up the yard.
Janet, glad you found the article helpful. You are right about getting caught up in emotions but it just shows we care about our country and where it may be headed. Obviously we are a very divided country. I just hope there are no riots after the election results become known.
Al, hope that discovery on the meds makes a big difference for Marbeth. Did she have to stay in the hospital?
Hope everyone has a good day and Janet and Darrel have a nice safe trip.
Larry - thanks for asking, but no, she didn't stay in the hosp. she was hme by 3"30 in tlhe afternoon or so.

I woke from my nap last evening at 6pm. I saw that Jo's car was gone so I called Ivalou. We chatted awhile and she asked me what time it was. I said 6:07. She said that all she needed to do was get dressed, eat a bite and she would be ready. I then realized...she thinks it is morning. So I told her it was 6:07PM. We laughed. She said that she thought she was tired but not tired enough to sleep over 12 hours in her chair!! So I said I had better let her go so she could turn on some lights since it was going to get darker instead of lighter!
I went over this morning and helped her finish getting dressed. She's a trouper. I think she thinks the doctor is going to give her the okay to use that arm! Well, some but not all!
I have a DDS appointment and need to leave in a few minutes. If I get out of the DDS office by 11:30 I think I will go to the pool and get that done for the week.
Then tonight is church council meeting.
And hopefully tomorrow night we have said good-bye to a person and negative ads!(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ECrosses.gif&hash=a20248754210521e37b5468eb257de739e5571d0)

Good morning everyone, Do you remember Alice A. She passed away on Thursday. Her daughter told me she went peacefully. She had been in the hospital for about 2 weeks if I remember correctly
I am going to Yoga this morning after the gym but not right after, yoga starts at 10. I have been having a problem with my left hip hurting like crazy and effecting my walking. yesterday was not a good day as I was in pain most of the day and into the night even after taking the pain pills. It doesn't hurt this morning but it is right there ready to start if I am not careful. Yoga will help to open out that hip joint and get some of the synovial fluid flowing.
Hello-long lost here checking in! ;) Glad to see all is in good spirits and everyone is doing well.
I have been thinking about everyone here and hoping all the Christians will be or have done some voting. I read that out of 60,000 million Christians eligble to vote 30,000 do or are even registered.
No matter what-we are a part of this system and our voice/vote should be done. Choose the one who is in line the most with the values that are dear to us, but not us only, God's above all else!
We ask God's guidance in all things, voting should be no different....
Now lets go out there and vote! :cheer: :cheer:
Im attempting to be encouraging hope you don't mind. Think its important as Christian to stand up for what is right....
Blessings to all!!!
Here's a prayer for our elected....hope i did the url right...

Limited time on internet
Since I am going through a week with no power and being "displaced" I have to rely on this bible study over and over again.
I was able to post the bible study that is constantly helping me get through till "power is restored. ( I live in Jersey where the eye of the storm came through --terrifying winds but relied on Our Heavenly Father's calming effect to take over my body.
Believe it or not my 97 year old mom and 92 year old aunt whom she takes care of were the ONLY ONES in the family with power and no lost of anything...She still doesn't know why we are still suffering with losses..
Praise the Lord for that comfort to me to know they are fine..
I posted the bible study that I rely on in "Manna for the soul
Hope it helps others when in need
Marilyn: I remember Alice. Sorry for the loss to her family.
Al: Glad to read that Marbeth is home with you. Getting meds mixed-up is really scarey and someone at the dr's office or even pharmacy should have looked it over more carefully. Hopefully, she will feel better right away now that it is straightened out.
Joyce: Did you notice the mild earthquake in Jersey? One thing on top of another. Sorry to read that you have been displaced and I do hope it is comfortable for you. Great news that your mom & auntie are not in harm's way. I'll go to the bible study you posted to check it out. Thanks.
On voting: Our state is supposedly 50/50 on taxing marijuana. That makes it so legal. It already is legal with a doctor's prescription but that means some doctor's have prescribed thousands of scripts. The greed is tremendous. The police have to go to many extra robberies and children are getting ahold of marijuana at a much earlier age and much too freely. Heartbreaking to see the system that is so broken. People are voting without even considering the consequences. OK, I'll check out Joyce's bible study now - need something new.
Hi everyone. It has been raining fairly heavily all night long but is suppose to clear out fairly early. I just went up to McDonald's to get a couple of sausage-egg-cheese burritos for our breakfast as the refrigerator is rather bare this morning. The housekeepers will be hear soon so left the garage open so they can quickly get in out of the rain. One of the two had jury duty yesterday so it may just be one of the ladies this morning. I plan on attending a meeting late this morning and a stop at the grocery store to restock the shelves and that will be it until evening when I will watch the election returns, probably late into the night, although it appears there won't be an early winner declared tonight.
Al, glad to hear that Marbeth was able to come home.
Marilyn, hope the yoga helped your hip. Stacey always knows before we have rain as her legs and feet ache worse than usual. She is better from her flu and hopes to be able to get out of her apartment for awhile later today when it stops raining.
Juanital, good to see a posting from you and I thought your comments were most appropriate.
Joyce, I hope you had no damage other than power and now another storm headed your way. Interesting story concerning your mom and aunt. Your mother must be quite the person to be able to take care of someone at her age.
Larry I'm not sure if the Yoga helped my him but it sure made my back feel good. I love those back exercises and stretches it takes our all the kinks. She teacher puts us through a lot of stuff for the spine, It is a gentle class and most of us are Seniors only one who isn't a senior. The teacher has had back problems so she KNOWS just what works. There are some people that say because I am a Christian that I am doing something wrong by going to yoga classes. In fact I got an email from someone with a link to some website that really condemns Yoga for Christians. In my humble opinion, it is an exercise, I don't see it as a religious practice or any kind of worship. It is an exercise of stretching that really helps me. Would Tai Chi also be seen ans something Christians should not do. i don't think so. Whatever exercise helps ones body feel good is OK.
We're warming up now after the coldest night so far this fall. I've had to add an extra layer of clothing and found myself griping about that and the extra heating costs as well. Then I remembered to be thankful that I have the clothing to put on and the home to heat and the power to use to heat it. I ask the Lord's comfort for all those suffering through this cold spell without the blessings I so quickly forget about, and forgiveness for my lack of gratitude.
There is the sound of a jack hammer outside taking down the brick wall that was hit by the errant car in Sept. They will also work on repairing the fence.... finally, the insurance paid and someone made a decision. Tile man is supposed to arrive here around ten - and we do not know if anyone will work today or just deposit the tile.
Joyce: Thank you for the message in Manna.
Doorbell.

Well, it's been a slow, short day so far....probably because of what time I finally got out of bed. ??? I have got to stop that...or my days and nights are going to be reversed!!
Last evening was church council meeting. The church has a house that they rent out. It has been empty since the end of July. The youth minister said they would like to move into it...we normally get $200 more than we give the youth minister for rent now. But it was decided to let them move in. I am so happy...Brad, Krista, Ellie (2 yo) and Emma (1 yo) need a warmer bigger home that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to heat and next summer they need a yard that isn't along side a state highway! Besides, the church has a playground across the street for the little community for Clarksville...not to be confused with Clarksville down by the Ohio River! And when the new church building starts that play ground will more than likely be moved to their yard! ;)
I am sure that Krista is happy and wishes that the move was already done!
I had a Strawberry Cobbler in the oven. The house smells heavenly! Also doing some laundry.
Tonight is another meeting at church. This time I am on the election committee for the church instead of the nation!! We will have to have our meeting in the chapel since the national election precinct is in the basement!
Praying for our nation. I know we will all go on if the election doesn't go our way but it sure is scary!! All I can say is 'Come, Jesus! Come!' o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0^0o_o0

Wow! The election must have worn everyone out! God is still in control no matter who became our President!
Hi everyone. Just back from Bible study after going to coffee at McDonald's. It is quite chilly here this morning and damp. However, I have nothing to complain about when I think of the poor folks in the NE who are still in great distress from the past hurricane and now have another terrible storm coming in on them. This evening I have a business meeting to attend.
Marilyn, why do we care what someone else thinks if we believe what we are doing is right as you do with yoga. Someone else is trying to impose their thoughts and to control others. We should look to God and the Bible for guidance.
Etta Sue, I agree with you that God is still in control regardless of the election outcome. We are a very divided nation.
The results are in. Some of my choices won and some lost. Now it's time to remember that God is in charge and nothing happens that He does not allow.
Including the snow that is now falling on some of those same areas devastated by Sandy.
Snowing again and getting colder.
Lights went on after a week then off again today for awhile.
Yes, Larry, you're right GOD did a wonderful job when he created my mom--no health problems of major concerns and is quite able to take care of herself and others. Just getting a little more weaker and tired.
Grandma was almost 100 when Our Heavenly Father called her home and she, too, did not have any major problems to be concern about.
I, on the other hand, keep saying "Lord are you sure you want me around that long"..When I say that; that is the only thing my mom gets upset with me about....Then I hug her and give her a little kiss on her carrot red hair and she laughs...
take care all, going home before roads get to icy...
And another day begins. :) Not as cold and the snow didn't get this far north.
Marilyn, in the middle of a "j" night, I suddenly remembered what Paul had to say about meat sacrificed to idols. Not exactly the same as your questions about yoga exercise, but still the same basic premise, IMHO. You can check it out - 1st Corinthians, Chapter 8 - and see whether the Holy Spirit gives you any insight.
Hi everyone. We have a sunny but chilly morning here but it is suppose to warm up to about 60 degrees this afternoon. Yesterday stayed cold and damp and overcast all day long. My major activity for today will be to go to my retirees luncheon, which will be about an hours drive away. I haven't been for the last 6 months or so and am looking forward to it. I have nothing else on the schedule for today. Last evening I did attend the business meeting where I serve as treasurer. That will be my last meeting as new officers will take over in January. I will still prepare the final year-end reports and pay any bills or deposit any revenues until January and will meet with the new Treasurer to turn things over and then these responsibilities will be completed. Pat seems to be coming down with a cold and is feeling the impact of it.
Joyce, your mother sounds like a jewel and very delightful person. You come from hardy stock.
Jeanne, glad you missed the snow during the night. Stay warm.

Today I have my class lunch to attend at noon at O'Charley's in Noblesville.
Tomorrow.....nothing!! Yay!!
My DDS was different. Since the needed filling was a little below the gum, he lazered part of the gum away and then filled the tooth. This was tooth below a crown and the crown is where my partial sits! Don't want to replace the crown and possibly a new partial. Hope this filling works! He said I would have pain but I didn't. Just red in the sink when I brush which is due to the gum being lazered.
I have an awesome YouTube for all of you to listen too. Vince Gill and Carrie Underwood (http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=pLLMzr3PFgk&feature=player_embedded)
. Do you have goose bumps now?
I woke around 7am this morning. Quite foggy. I couldn't even see the corn stubbles out the bathroom window. Then at 8:45am, it seemed heavenly. Fog still here but sun shining through the fog and giving everything a halo look! Now? Not a cloud in the sky, bright sunshine but cold. >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^<

Etta Sue: That is wake up music!
We were at grandson's high school concert last evening and it was so good, per usual. Don can hear the drumbeat and tells me that they are better than most college level - they all begin with a great music teacher in grade school and keep on practicing. Our grandson plays the trumpet and next month he will solo with his own song so we have a "must see" coming up.
I was in a store yesterday, the temps are in the low 70's here, way above normal, and I heard "White Christmas" being played. It does take a lot of preparation for Christmas but nothing like it was when the children were little and now I just don't have the energy. A neighbor gave me all her candied fruit so now I have to make 7 pounds of fruit cake this year and that takes a half day.
Workers outside are on the brick wall entrance and they say it will take 3 good days to finish - it is the entrance wall to our housing division and we are near enough to let them take our electricity and water so there is always something going on here. Don went to the breakfast and finally won the $16 pot. Three men are WWII veterans so it is an amazing group.

The Secrets of Providence
"The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him" (Ps. 25:14).
There are secrets of Providence which God's dear children may learn. His dealings with them often seem, to the outward eye, dark and terrible. Faith looks deeper and says, "This is God's secret. You look only on the outside; I can look deeper and see the hidden meaning."
Sometimes diamonds are done up in rough packages, so that their value cannot be seen. When the Tabernacle was built in the wilderness there was nothing rich in its outside appearance. The costly things were all within, and its outward covering of rough badger skin gave no hint of the valuable things which it contained.
God may send you, dear friends, some costly packages. Do not worry if they are done up in rough wrappings. You may be sure there are treasures of love, and kindness, and wisdom hidden within. If we take what He sends, and trust Him for the goodness in it, even in the dark, we shall learn the meaning of the secrets of Providence. --A. B. Simpson

"Not until each loom is silent,
And the shuttles cease to fly,
Will God unroll the pattern
And explain the reason why
The dark threads are as needful
In the Weaver's skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
For the pattern which He planned."
He that is mastered by Christ is the master of every circumstance. Does the circumstance press hard against you? Do not push it away. It is the Potter's hand. Your mastery will come, not by arresting its progress, but by enduring its discipline, for it is not only shaping you into a vessel of beauty and honor, but it is making your resources available.
Thanks Pat for posting that from Streams inthe desert.l
Larry I bought a new computer last night form Dell, It is the Insperion One 20 an All in One with Windows 8. I also ordered a transfer cable so that I can transfer what I will be needing from this old computer to the new one. I may be calling you for help. Would you pleased email or message me your phone number.
Rain here today and it is raining a lot so no dog walks today and tomorrow I have to drive to Coquille to take Happy in for a re-check since he is on Prednisone.. The Vet at the clinic where I work removed a cancer from Happy's ear this past Saturday. He burned it off under a local anesthetic.
I am so glad I am at a spot that has hi speed! That was wonderful hearing How Great Thou Art!
John did his Road Knight speach today, at breakfast. He did really well, creating team unity. We will be home Saturday.
Here is one for you to listen to. Remember we look on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart.

Hi everyone. It is almost noon and I am eating my lunch. I have had a very busy morning and am really worn down and ready for some rest. After coffee I went to the bank and got a haircut. Then I went to Best Buy to find some replacement earphones but they didn't have what I wanted. So I stopped at Walmart and used an electric cart to get around the store. I found the earphones I wanted at the price I wanted to pay. Finally I stopped at Krogers for a couple of items. Pat had asked me to call her but when I went to use my found I found it very hot and the battery almost gone. I rebooted but when I tried to call the battery went in total so couldn't call her. Fortunately, she had told me the one important item she wanted so I won't need to make another trip later this afternoon. It is a truly beautiful fall day here and going to warm up to 70 this afternoon. We did have frost last night.
Marilyn, always exciting to get a new computer. Hope you will like the Windows 8. I will send you my phone number but if I forget please remind me.
Read all the postings but no other comments today as am tired.

Great message, Judy! I like Colton.
Our lunch was great yesterday with a new classmate to our lunch. This classmate only lives about 3-4 miles from me on the same road as I do. His wife has came to eat and visit with us but he never has. I hadn't even seen him for over 50 years and met him again when one of the classmates had a 50 year wedding anniversary. So good to see Larry and he seemed to really enjoy being with us old folks. Larry still drives a semi so isn't at home a lot but said he can do his own scheduling!
Ivalou's daughter, Teresa, is here now until Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. Ivalou had an eye appointment Tuesday afternoon so I can take her for that. I miss being with her. And her arm exercises at home are doing real great. She didn't even have her sling on yesterday!
Lots of noise outside. Last evening they started picking the corn across the road but darkness came and he stopped. When I went to bed, I heard coyotes yelling and howling. Maybe the corn picker disturbed their hiding place. Then before arising this morning, the corn picker was back. The field is finished now. I can see again!!!! All the way around, I can see!
Today is another day of bright sunshine and warm temperatures. Suppose to be in the 70's by Sunday afternoon! Time for another cold. Changing temps are the worse thing for me to get a cold and I am not completely over the old cold yet!
I have a do-nothing day today but I am going to cook today. I want to make my Cheeseburger Rice and freeze the leftovers! (^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(

HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Good one Pat, MAy have to try that!
I listened to an interview of Colton. What an amazing and powerful witness he has!
I must say I am getting bored sitting in a hotel room!
LOL on the password "incorrect".
JudyB: I did not realize you were on a road trip with John. Do hope the weather holds until you get home. Are you seeing any of the sights along the way?
I finished baking three large loaves of mom's old fruit cake recipe that makes 7 pounds and made them this year only because a neighbor had so much candied fruit and she didn't have time with her ailing husband. She doesn't want any because the sugar content would interfer with his type of chemo. I'll make some slices for neighbors and keep some ourselves to give to guests if they so desire. Our children like this white fruit cake recipe. I put it on "What are you Cooking" in S & F.
We tried to buy 4 tires today but the sale was over and will be back after the New Year. We just did not have the money to buy the tires until today so it goes. Prices are going sky high here in a lot of little things No doubt you have heard about the shameful voting here to legalize pot smoking. Right away there are consequences which people never dreamt of - duh!
The mountains are supposed to get snow. It is very late this year. tomorrow, the temps drop drastically here for a few days.
We are home again! I just got on the computer to check a few things, but have read all posts since I left, and just now the clocks chimed eleven! I need to get to BED, NOW!!
See you tomorrow!
And here it is "tomorrow"! ;D A lovely sunny one, too. Expected to get up to near 60 today and even a couple of degrees above on Monday. And last week we went down to the teens at night.
Yesterday was a grouch day. For some reason I just felt "down" and ready to criticize everything I saw or heard. Somehow I let the devil get hold of me I guess, but today things are looking up and I praise the Lord for all His blessings - instead of wanting more.
It's ok, Jeanne - ask for still more. He has no limit!
Hi everyone. It is going to be another beautiful day here in Georgia. Yesterday was just about perfect weather-wise. It is crisp in the morning and warmed up to about 70 in the afternoon with no wind. I should have a pretty quiet day today and watch some football this afternoon and Georgia plays Auburn this evening. My friend, Rod, and his wife are in Virginia to attend the funeral of his sister-in-law. She has been suffering with Alzheimer's for several years. I am just back from coffee at McDonald's and probably attend a meeting later this morning. There was only one other person at coffee this morning but we had a nice visit.
Etta Sue, nice that your classmate group is expanding a little. Are the crops yielding a good return this year in your area or were they adversely impacted from the drought.
Carol, drugs have been so devastating to my family I just don't think I could vote to make it legal. However, I don't necessarily think we should jail people unless they are dealing. I wonder how Colorado and Washington are going to be dealt with by the Federal government on this issue. Regarding prices, I am very concerned we are headed to another recession next year. There have been a lot of layoffs since the election and we will probably see many more in the months ahead.
Janet, we missed you. Hope you had a great time.
Jeanne, I have always found it interesting how a nights sleep can make such a change in our attitude toward things or make problems that seemed so big the day before not seem to overwhelming. Glad you are feeling better today.
Good Morning Al and all who stop by today.

Remember to keep watching that green glob up above....surprise!
Larry, the farmers got crop returns but not as good as usual. The corn was smaller ears and sometimes not complete rows of corn. The soy beans were short and not as dense. So yes, the drought did cause a less return for the farmers. They will survive though....if not the government would, or has in the past, give them money to compensate for their loses. That's always been a big gripe of mine...no other business does that...or at least, in the past!
Welcome back, Janet! We will be waiting for a blow by blow detail of your shows in Branson!
Today is a beautiful day of sunshine and warmer temps. Suppose to get to 68 degrees today with some wind. Tomorrow is suppose to be about the same temp but really breezy...winds up to 25mph. At least it isn't thick, white stuff!
I have a pot of chili on the stove...smells pretty good at my house!@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@

Laundry all done, suitcase emptied, everything put away, and I have returned phone calls, sorted a week's worth of mail, and gone to visit Beth. Not bad for half a day!
Thanks, Etta Sue. We did have a good time, and saw some really good shows. Joseph was great, and followed the Bible very closely; really good and such good lessons on forgiveness. Their sets are always spectacular! They are already receiving the sets for next year's production of Jonah, which was done in Pennsylvania this year. I can't imagine how they are going to do all those underwater scenes! I may have to go to Branson again next year, just to see Jonah! Other shows we attended were: The Presleys, Shoji Tabuchi, another one I am not remembering the name of at this moment, and Clay Cooper. Clay was great, really personable, and such fun. We also spent an afternoon at Silver Dollar City where Darrel and I saw Dickens' Christmas Carol, an onstage production that was really well done. The lights were really something to see out there, and we stayed for the lighting of the 35 foot tree and a light parade. So yes, we did have a nice time.
Today is NOT nice! :( :P :ticked: Winds blowing about 50 MPH, and dirt blowing, reminding us of the dust bowl days. Tumbleweeds rolling everywhere! When I came home, they were all going north-northeast. Had to be careful not to hit the really big ones and scratch up the car! Yuck. I hate this kind of weather. :-\
Tonight we will drive to Hugoton to see Abby in Beauty and the Beast, which their high school is doing. I didn't go to my painting meeting today because of that, and because I wanted to catch up with stuff here. I sure hope the wind dies down before then.
Can you believe I didn't even take a camera with me to Branson? Had I known the trees would still be in their peak colors, I would have! Oh, well.....another missed opportunity.
I am really sad and disappointed at the election, I fully believe it was stolen by corruption, but I know the God who made the heavens and the earth and I know He is still in charge, and HE will never let us down. But I do feel we may be in for some really tough times before He calls us home. Even so, my trust, my reliance, and my hope are in HIM.
If you want to read something really interesting, just google "guillotines and FEMA coffins"......oh, my!
I need to go now. Good to be back with you all!
