Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Several weeks ago, I used the self checkout at Wal-Mart.  It gave me $5 too much in change, but I didn't realize it until I was gone.  (I had counted the change, but it didn't "dawn" on me that it was too much).  Later that afternoon, I went back to rectify the situation.  I told the little lady over the self checkouts what had happened, and she looked at me blankly.  I finally suggested that she just put a note on the bill about what happened and when that drawer came up $5 short, they would know why.

Bernard is doing very well.  He had to come off the percocet (I think I told you that) and is just taking advil.

I think Spring may finally be slipping in.  Maybe.  It is still really chilly out.  I'm also concerned about the trees.  Alot were "budding" when we had our cold snap, and it is like everything has just stopped, and the buds are no longer visible.  Some of the trees that were already blooming, like dogwoods and bradford pears just have nasty looking brown leaves now. :(  One of the local counties that is a major apple producer lost over 90% of this year's crops.  Not good.

Oh, dear! I forget to check the calendar. :(

Please have a wonderful birthday, Nards. You have GREAT reason to celebrate. You not only have a new year ahead, but will be feeling ever so much better! Thanks be to our Lord.

Happy birthday from Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Janet

Ruth Ann, that was a funny story.  Next time, you will know to ask your son where those groceries went!  Glad you are doing better now.

Hi, Liz!  How are you doing?

Karma, I remarked to Darrel today that it is so hard to believe we had 83 degrees today, and just ONE week ago, we had 12 inches of SNOW!!  :o  Amazing!  We were out looking at our fruit trees yesterday, and it appears we may have a little fruit, but not my favorite, peaches.  :'(

Pat, how are Judy and Norm?  And that is one cute dancing goose!!  :)

We are heading out early in the morning, don't know when we will be home, so y'all hold down the fort, okay?

Well Good Morning.

Just off the phone with John, and I have to pick him up again in North Bay.  HE has an exhaust leak, and I think he said they have to dismantle something to fix it, so it won't be a job he can wait for.

We have lovely weather today again.  Janet we had snow a week ago as well, and up over 70 yesterday.  Today is to be another warm one.  We still have ice on the lakes, and the girls have already asked to go swimming.......That has to be a young thing.

Pat I hope you are staying home today and getting some rest as you gear up for next week.  This travelling is a heavy job, but I can hear you say "Oh its ok".  Reminds me of a song, "He's Not Heavy, He's My Brother!"  Love you sis.

Got to run, John will be into Peterbuilt in 15 minutes and he will be waiting for me.

Till later.

Hello, All!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NARDS!!  Yes, this year is special for you.  You have a new heart!

I didn't get on here yesterday.  Busy day.  Ivalou followed me to the Auto Electric place and I left my car after explaining to him once again that my car was buzzing terribly loud...enough to vibrate the whole car and the ignition was off.  Only stopped buzzing when the fuse for the radio was pulled.

Ivalou and I went to Frisch's...our version of the Big Boy restaurants...and had breakfast.  When I was in high school this restaurant was the place to go since it had curb service as well!  The big hangout!  Then we went to a mall and walked around.  Then to Hobby Lobby.  Kitty had something she wanted me to get so I got that.  We stopped for a coke and then to a movie.  'Blades of Glory'!  Pretty good.  One of those movies that is hilarious but afterwards you can't remember what was so funny!

I then called the guy about my car to see if we could go home and come back Monday or come get it today.  He said he put the fuse back in and it never did made that noise.   :-\  But he said it was the radio and that he would have to order the radio...$$$.  Then he said he wasn't sure if that would fix it but, oh, yeah!  I can put a scanner on it and find out the history to see what happened.  Whatever that means... ::)  Then he called me back and said he heard some buzzing in the rear speaker and found a short in the left rear speaker and disconnected that speaker.  He said for me to drive it for a month or two to make sure it doesn't make that buzzing noise again.  And that I probably won't even notice a speaker missing.  He is right...the radio sounds as good as it always has so I doubt if I replace the speaker!  Let the next guy replace it!!

Then Ivalou followed me to IHOP to eat before coming home.  I called Kitty and she was home so I could take to her what I bought for her.  We visited a few minutes and I came on home.  It was almost 7pm by then!

Long day!  But at least it wasn't as costly as I was thinking it could be.  Two meals out and $35 for the car.  Not bad!

I am so glad that I am not a news watcher.  I have only gotten bits and pieces about VT.  I just wish the media would go HOME and leave the families of the victims and the family of the killer alone so they can mourn in peace.  And there certainly is a difference between a murderer and a madman (mentally ill).

I did my 20 minutes of walking outside this morning.  Love the fresh air but the pavement is sure harder to walk on than my carpet is!!

Kitty loaned me some diabetic cookbooks so I need to look at them today.  She is going to Ohio for the week next week so I really have plenty of time.

And last of all....please pray for me and my visit to the ENT Monday.  Pray that the doctor has the wisdom to find the problem and to correct the problem.  I am ready for pills or even the knife.  Just ready to get a good voice back!

Good Morning I am leaving in just a few minutes to go see the display of live Raptors at the Arcata Community center, We are celebrating the Godwit festival. Except the Godwits haven't shown up yet. It must be this crazy weather pattern we are having.  Oh Godwits are birds. I am going to so some  phhotography.

Hi everyone.

Not much happening here today although we are going to friends early this evening to play some games for a couple of hours.  It is never late hours there and we always have a good time.  This is the lady that I am going to give computer lessons to.

I was able to get the additional cushions for our porch chairs so now the next job is to get the pollen washed off the porch so we can use them and begin to enjoy the porch.  Right now everything is covered with a dusting of pine pollen, a yellowy-green substance that is like heavy dust.  It happens every spring.

Nards, a belated happy birthday.

Etta Sue, glad you didn't have a major problem.  That solution about replacing the radio didn't make a whole lot of sense since you heard the noise when the car was turned off.  The powered speakers must have an electrical current running to them even when the radio and car are turned off.  Hope you find some good recipes for your new way of eating.

Ruth Ann, that was certainly the right thing to do.  We had sort of the opposite experience this week when Pat went to Aldi's for groceries and the next day was looking over the ticket and found they had double charged her on two items.  Of course we couldn't prove that and it was only a couple of dollars involved but we will certainly look over the ticket before we leave the store.  They check out things very quickly.

Liz, sorry that you are still fighting the flu and having to listen to the din of the workmen.  Hope you will be feeling better soon.

Marilyn, glad you are staying well as with your busy schedule you don't need an illness (not that any of us do).

JudyB, I will take our pine pollen over your little gnats anyday.  Those sound very vicious.

Sarah, is this your senior prom?

Janet, I grew up in Missouri and learned early on that within short spans of time the weather could greatly vary.  Hope you have a good time while you are away.

Pat, that was a very cute picture.  It is so nice of you to be such a big help to Norm and I am sure your visit is a comfort to Judy in her time of suffering.  You are performing a wonderful ministry of compassion.

JudyB

Larry you are right about the black flies.  They are small little things, but oh so vicious.

I took a walk into the bush with the dogs and kids.  We were hunting wild leeks and fiddleheads.  I expect the fiddle heads will be pickable in about a week, and I found out from a local that there are indeed wild leeks here on the property.  (We own 86 acres)  That will be an investigation I have no Idea what they look like, but if we have them I will freeze them for the coming winter.  Yes I am already looking at winter preparations, after the mild winter we had this year we can expect to be slammed next year.

I have to go.  Elby made supper, soup and tea biscuits, and we have rhubarb crisp and the tea biscuits in the oven.

Have a good night and enjoy the warm (hot) weather we are having.

JudyB

Sarah ~ I know what you mean.  At a high school south of me, a Senior was killed in an auto accident and two of his buddies were flown to Indy by Lifeline last Friday night.  Saturday was their Prom.  I am certain the prom goers didn't take any unnecessary chances with their classmates tragedies fresh on their minds.  Seems every year you hear about a death at Prom time.

Church was awesome.  I went to WalMart after church.  I must have been out of everything...especially the high cost items!  Well, think about all I saved in the last few days.  At least I could afford it!

I recorded or will record 7 hours of 'Planet Earth' on the Discovery channel today and this evening.  Everyone says these shows are fabulous in photography!

Kitty left today for Ohio to be with her daughter and two grandchildren for a week.  I am going to miss her.

Pat

Hi Friends!

I just got in from Hamilton.  I took Norm down to see Judy.  We left when some other friends from church stopped in.

She's in pretty good spirits about tomorrow but a little uneasy.  Her surgery starts at 8 am.

Carol

We are back from an overnight visit with two of our sons.  It was super, as always.

Pat:  I don't know if you are going to see Judy tomorrow - perhaps she will be sleeping a lot.  Send along my prayers for a complete recovery, please.

One son is back from a week of training in Atlanta - he bought and wore a Virginia Tech baseball cap at the airport in support of the school - lots of comments.  We know what the feelings are because our family lived near Columbine when that even took place and it is never forgotten.

Carol

I'm still praying for Judy.  I hope everything goes well.  Actually, I hope it goes better than well.

I went to church this morning.  It was good to go back.  We had been concerned because we hadn't been able to find a substitute piano player for Bernard, and you can just sing so many songs a cappello.  But, I found out that an older lady in the church (she actually was the piano player before Bernard) had been playing for him.  She is like 75 years old, and has extremely bad emphysema and is on oxygen, so it was really a blessing to me that she was willing to step in despite her personal afflictions to do this.  It really helped relieve Bernard as well.

i went "shooting" today.  It was one of those days where I may not have gotten anything award winning, but I liked them and had fun.  I would post them, but I've got them entered at dpc and photography cafe.  :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!!

Pat

I'm glad that Bernard is doing better each day, Karma.  It's so encouraging.

Glad you got out to shoot today too.  I must do some of that maybe tomorrow.

I have found that when I get stressed (long story) or out of sorts, if I can go shoot some, uninterrupted, even if I don't get any decent pics, I feel better.  Kind of a therapy. :)
