JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

I was wondering about Pat, too.

Jane, you're back!   I hope your trip went well and you'll get over your tard soon.

Larry, now you can read it on your computer.   I have the book that I read in the morning sometimes.  I used to read it every morning and need to start that again.  He always gives me something to think about and references to take me to the Bible.

I'm enjoying Pete's Pond again.  I watched elephants the other night.  I'll have to check the names of all the animals that go there.  I saw what looked like a lone jackal too.  I'm sure he has a big long name.

karmat

Hello all!  Still running around like a de-headed chicken.  I'm hoping when school starts we will get into some kind of routine and get some stuff done.  Well, maybe wishing more than hoping. :)

Janet, glad you are making progress.  Take it easy, okay?

ES -- I would love to go to the fair, but that may be quite a commute.  Our Mountain State Fair is in about 3 weeks.  Our state fair is in Raleight, which is about 5 hours from here.  Because it is so "un-central" they started having the Mtn. one for our end of the state a few years back.  I've got a couple of pictures I want to enter this year.  Not many, though.  The only shots they are accepting (which is a big change from the past) are agriculture and farm type shots.  I've got a couple, but not much. :(

Take care all!

Marilyn

Good Morning, Good to see those who have been here.

Larry and Janet I hope you are feeling better today.

Karma Get your act together woman!  <3

Colin I copied and saved your poem, good to see you here again.

Where is Jeannine hiding?

Jane how was the trip? You must tell us all about it.

Hi Nita, my fellow dog lover. How are the boys? I got my satellite dish so I could watch Animal Planet.

I am  trying to keep busy at work, but it is so hard to do. I cleaning and do the chores that need doing as I see them. But I am still doing a lot of just sitting and knitting waiting for the daughter to get home. there is usually something going on every day. The foot Doctor, The Home Health nurse, the Physical therapist, etc. Today it is the latter, she comes twice per week.

Atfe work today My neighbor and friend Mimi is coming over and we are going to shke  some branches on my plum tree  so we can take some plums to the Senior Center to sha. There are way toom many plums  for me to just  give them to my neighbors, client and eat them myself. I don't plan on making jam this year.

Y-all have a blessed day now ya hear.

It is early.  We had a nice rain shower yesterday and then I looked up our ten-day forecast & it is still much too hot.  You may know that dinasaur bones were found just a few blocks from our house and now I am wondering if we are going to go back into that time of tropical vegetation and the ancients will return?  Just kidding, this heat won't go away.  And, we are cool weather loving people in this house.

Liz:  Laughing over your "bratty cat".  They can be so obstinate.  We would love to have pets but have to settle down first.

Larry:  hot & sunny, what a time this year and it looks like everything is changing.  Glad that your cold is getting a bit better.

Etta Sue:  A state fair sounds so nice and normal to me.  Ours is way south of Denver & too hot to even think about.  We used to go to the Minnesota fair every year & it was one of the cleanest & nicest I have  ever seen - I imagine yours is super nice as well.

Janet:  Yes, the help I got was such a surprise because I had a very negative    opinion of the yuppies in our area where we lived in Texas - just goes to show that impressions are not always right.  Take care now.  I hope that your scars are gone soon.

Boots:  and Nita:   Pat is probably so busy on the SN site.  What a job.  I hope she doesn't over do.

karmat:  I have seen a beheaded chicken - you can't possibly be that nutty.

Gord Brown:  I sent you an email - how are you doing after that long trip?  Recuperating well? Thanks for the information on O. Chambers.

Gotta go - must do some exercise even though the arthur is hurting.

The State Fair was a lot of memories.  I used to go every year but I hadn't been all the years I married Bud, since 1969 until going with Ivalou in 1996.  To take you back a few years, I saw Bob Hope, Lawrence Welk and the Everly Brothers in the Colliseum.  And some car show that the cars rode up ramps and jumped over cars/school buses/trucks at the Grand Stand.  I did notice yesterday that there was a lot of new cement around...new and improved State Fair.  Yesterday was Purdue University Day so you saw a lot of black and gold with Purdue written somewhere on the shirts.

Lydia was impressed with the Big Cheese...1650 pounds of Indiana Cheddar Cheese that took someone over 24 hours to carve!!  It looked like the building it was in.

Yes, the scrapbooking party was fun.  My niece, Robin, was the consultant.  But I just am not into scrapbooking.  For one, I can't see taking a great photo and cutting it up!  Another, I take very few people photos.  And another, I am fully digital now and don't print photos unless I am entering them in a contest.  Now if I had grandchildren I would probably be the biggest duck in the puddle!!  I did like the flower cut out thingy but not for $15.95!!

Doing some laundry today and then will probably go visit with Lydia and Ivalou a while.  No need to mow the grass...it is almost brown due to lack of rain...my $$ likes that!

Hi everyone.  It is another very hot day in Georgia with no rain in sight.  It will likely be over 100 degrees again today.

While my cold is better in some ways I still have a very bad cough and seem to be aching again today.  Know I need to take some Tylonol for the aches and will shortly eat lunch and rest for awhile.  I got to coughing to hard last night that I grabbed my pillow and a couple of quilts and spent the rest of the night in my easychair so Pat could get a good nights sleep.  I was able to rest and in fact, overslept and didn't get up until 7:30.  I always plan on leaving the house at 7:30 to pick up my friend for coffee so needless to say I didn't have time to shower and shave or eat breakfast.  Not a significant thing but I don't like to be late when someone is waiting on me.

Pat is playing Canasta a the county Senior Center this morning.  I am so glad to see her doing these things as it indicates she is feeling better.  She needs to get out of the house and be around other people and is doing more of that.

Maybe tomorrow I will feel more like writing a longer post but will not make individual comments today.

Janet

Good afternoon to all of you.  It is nice to read about your daily activities.

This has been quite a week for me.  We had a great trip to St. Louis, to the Reliv Conference.  I have never seen 7500 people so happy, healthy, helpful and optimistic, all in one group, in my life!  Very uplifting.

Beth has expressed a desire to donate her body after death for medical research.  So I have been checking into which medical schools, etc. are doing research on Neurofibromatosis, and what the protocols are for whole body donation.  Not a fun task for a Mom.  So far I haven't found a place that is doing specifically NF research.  Of course this all has to be put in place while Beth is living, as after death, the body must reach the facility within 24 hours.  It cannot be embalmed, as they use a method not used by funeral homes.

Today was Beth's Care Plan meeting, and she has really been giving everyone fits.  Her attitude is just deplorable, and she makes it so hard for her caregivers to please her in any way.  I lectured her for a good 30 minutes, with all of the department heads there; don't know if it will help, but we are all so frustrated with her.  I know life is so hard for her, but her attitude is making it even harder.  :'(

My therapy on my hand wasn't at all bad today.  But I'm still not doing much.  Thanks for the well wishes.

Larry, hope you get to feeling much better really soon.

Pat?  Where are you?  We miss you!

Did anyone give Iain the help he asked for re posting photos?  I'd love to see his photos.  Guess I'd better go have a look and see if he has posted any yet.

Dear Father,  Send angels to Beth for comfort and care - we pray for Beth.  Carol

Liz

I have also prayed for Beth, Janet.  Do you think it possible to have someone bring a pet for regular visits?  She must miss her little dog terribly and sometimes just giving a hug to a furry critter can help ease the heart.   :)

God Bless,

Liz

Jeannine

Good morning all,

Marilyn ~ i'm not hiding, just sitting here in the corner reading and praying for y'all.

Been busy with family and the websites. Have been revamping the church website. Adding things to our own. Just trying to get the Good News out to those who need it. And writing some poetry of my own. Taking pictures for slideshows. All the things God gave me the talents to do and trying to use them for Him. And I start physical therapy for my shoulder today, dont know what it will do for the arthritis but....

Hi to Pat, Larry, Al, Liz, Janet, Iain, Boots, Colin, Etta Sue, Carol, Nita, and goodness knows who else I dont remember names for, I am reading and praying.

WHEN IT SEEMS YOU DON'T CARE

What to do when it seems you don't care?
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Sometimes that's how you will feel
When others don't seem to share your zeal

You try and try until you are ready to cry
And then you stop and wonder why
That's when you should walk away
And seriously begin to pray

Take your burden to the Lord
A little time you can afford
To see His will in your life
Take time away from the strife

Stop and look around
Is what you are trying to do sound?
Have you asked the Lord His will?
Or are you doing your own will still

Honestly ask Him to guide you
He is faithful and will see you through
For when you try to go it alone
To frustration and anger you will be prone

Jeannine Faith

May you all have a God filled and blessed day.
In His Love,

Jeannine:  Such a lovely morning poem.  It is good to see you posting.

:coffee:  I am trying to be a little quiet as Don is snoozing a little longer.   I have to take all the dishes and so forth out of the dining area a we will move furniture to the middle as one son is arriving Sat morning to paint living, dining, open area to downstairs and hallway.  He is staying for the weekend.  We bought 6 gallons of paint - a Gobi Desert color and I had it lightened just a tad.  It is a warm color and will set off the brick fireplace area so nicely.

Larry:  I see that you can pull yourself together from this cold to get out there for coffee with the guys   ;)  that always makes a person feel better.

Gord Brown:  Thanks for the site to look over for our trip.

JudyB:  Did you sleep well finally last night?  Home schooling started?  I only ask because I know someone who is home schooling & she starts after Labor Day here while our state has school beginning today for some children.

Marilyn:  We will have a visiting dog this weekend - his name is Loki (Norse for God of Trickery).  He is a mix rescue & was supposed to be part Rotweiler, but we don't think so - if he is good, he gets to stay overnight.  Phil & Beth's dog.  We can take him to the dog park just a few blocks away.  Out of all of children's dogs, this one is my favorite but I can't tell anyone or their noses would be out of joint   ;D  I just have to cut and sew on two more borders for this last quilt then am taking it to be machine quilted.

Will be busy this weekend - Saturday, oldest son & family driving back from Montana and they always drive straight-through - they have had smoke in the area the entire time from a pretty large fire north of their place.  Disturbing to say the least.

Good weekend to all, Carol

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee a the senior center.  About the only thing on my schedule today is to get to the Post Office to mail a birthday present our youngest great grandson.

I spent the last 6 hours of the night sleeping in my easy chair as couldn't stop coughing while laying in bed.  I did get a good nights sleep but the cough is back this morning.  I think this is day 8 of this cold.

Janet, my heart goes out to you for having to be the one to make the calls.  However, it is truly an act of love to help Beth do something she can't do for herself.  I have to think her behavior must come from great fear and the probably unrelenting pain tha goes with her disease.  I would expect that she doesn't like her own behavior either but must express her frustrations and fears.  Take care of yourself or you will not be able to help her where it is appropriate.  I am sure she is not the first patient they have had who expressed these feelings and frustrations nor will she be the last.  This is when true compassion is seen in action to love when the actions and words are unlovable.  I hope this doesn't sound preachy as I sure don't have any wisdon this matter and sure feel for you all.

Jeannine, hope your physical therapy does a lot of good for you and doesn't agravate your other ailments.

Carol, it sounds like you all will have a busy weekend.

Hope everyone has a great day.

karmat

Janet, My thoughts and prayers are with you and Beth.  I know that has to be a terribly heavy burden to bear.

Etta Sue

Janet ~ Prayers are for you and Beth.  I can't imagine what Beth is going through.  She deserves to be a little testy.  She needs reassurance that she is loved in spite of her moods.  I remember my Mom asking me to pick her up and put her in a chair which I couldn't do.  When I got ready to leave that evening, I told her 'I love you'.  She said, 'I love you, too.  But you still made me mad'.  I will always remember that.  Just like unruly kids...you love them in spite of themselves.  And as for donation of her body...I think that is a wonderful thing.  Perhaps using her body would help the medical field to find a cure/cause for NF.  And she will know that her body helped because she will be in heaven watching all the world.  I have had my eyes donated for eons!  Wonderful to think that my eye donation could allow a blind person to see!  Does she still talk to John?

Today is a do nothing day. Seems I have a few of them and I love it!  Need to go talk to Lydia.  Yesterday she was watching a movie and told her Grandma and I to go in the living room and talk...she couldn't hear her movie!

God Bless each and everyone of You!

Nita

Good late morning to everyone.

Marilyn, You're right, of course.  I'd forgotten that Pat was busy with the moving of Seniornet to the new site.  What a lot of work that is.  I think of that work.......and they are just volunteers.  I applaud the hosts and movers and shakers over there.

I'd love to have Animal Planet.  I used to watch it all the time when I had a dish.  That's just way over my budget, so with air reception only, I don't get many animal shows.  I'm glad you have it, Marilyn.  I know you must enjoy it immensely. :)

We had a spattering of rain last night and earlier today.  It wasn't enough to water everything, and will soon be dry.  I need to get some gas to mow some weeds in the back yard.  I don't water the grass in the summer, so it isn't growing, but the weeds do fantastically well.

Janet, my heart just hurts for you.  I know your feelings run the gamut  from wanting to shake her to feeling such compassion and pain you feel like your heart will break with the load.  There's only one way to carry such pain, and I know you give it to Him over and over.  You help Beth, as best you can,  and know in your heart she has to be where she is.  You're mom, honey..but you're not Beth.  You can feel bad at the way she treats the staff when she's losing it, but you can't take responsibility.  I think you know that. And you can't be responsible for her pain.   God made Beth, just the way he made Beth's mom.  And He is responsible.  And God takes responsibility.   These are just a bunch of words.....and I can't even imagine what you're going through, but I care.  :'(

Larry, that old cold is really hanging on.  I'm sorry you're feeling bad.

Hi to all.  I've read all the posts.  Oh, Jeanine, I love your poem!

Janet

My dear friends--thank you for allowing me to vent here, and for your compassionate comments.  Even though they make me cry, it helps me to see things more clearly and also to feel better.

They worked with Beth from 1 until after 5 yesterday, trying to get her bowels to move.  She hadn't had a BM in over a week!  :P  No wonder she was miserable.  After 5 they called me, they (nurses) were at the end of their rope, said she wasn't cooperating.  They gave her three enemas, to no avail.  They called her doctor, he said just keep giving her the laxatives and wait another day or two. :o  So this morning I went to see her, still nothing; but this afternoon when Darrel and I went to take her several gallons of well water, she had had success.  Thank God!  I know this is not a pleasant subject, but it does help to understand her situation.

The ladies of my church are having a "Girls' Night Out tonight, and the theme is God Has a Crush on You!  (From the Orange Crush commercials, I think.)  We are to wear orange, and bring something orange to eat.  I have copper penny salad, and will cut up some cantaloupe.  Should be fun!  Oh, I may stop at the store and get some barbecue potato chips, too, those are orange! ;)

Talk to you later!  And thanks again, it helps to know I have friends who care and who pray.
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

karmat

{{{{hugs}}}} to you Janet!  Hang in there.  The orange theme sounds like fun.  Wonder if I could convince the ladies at my church to do something like that?  Guess there's only one way to find out!  :P

Janet

It was fun, Karma!  We played some really fun games, too--and I won an orange Crush baseball cap.  ;)  They had a pile of "stuff", some of which I have no idea the use for; and we had teams of two, and picked them up and thought of "uses" for them.  Kind of hard to explain in words, but really fun.

Those scar patches are almost miraculous!  My incisions are already looking as if my surgery was two months ago, and I just got the stitches out two days ago!  Amazing.

I'm headed to bed, tomorrow is scrapbooking day.  Yippee!!  My hand isn't up to doing a lot, so I'm taking card making materials and will make cards.  I need to get back to work on my scrapbooks as soon as my hand will permit, I'm getting behind.
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

Gord Brown

;D  Hi to all  and have been reading all the post's and also the poem's thank you for your encouragement.

Thank you for your prayers for my wife as some of her medical problems are getting better but please do not stop as she still has her back problems and there is only one cure for that and it would be a miracle performed by the Lord.

I am not sure if I asked you to also pray for my daughter and husband as they are about to have there first child.  But my daughter is retaining a lot of fluid and she is very uncomfortable and she works a long way from home so I value your prayers for them.

Our young peoples and other members from our church are doing something very special tomorrow and the money that they get from sponsership is going to poverty and other groups are doing it for other reasons.  They are going to skydive and even my senior pastor is going  heis 58 and there is a woman who was written in the local newspaper and she is 81 years old and it is her second time.  So please also pray for these people that they will be safe but that most  of all a witness to our city.

Well I must get of to sleep  Have a great weekend and God Bless. <3

Sarah

HELLO ALL,

Sarah

Nita

Janet, the bowel problem is the number one problem, I've heard, for those bed bound.  I'm glad things came out alright. :)

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I think I am much better this morning as was able to ge a full nights rest in bed and while I have been coughing this morning it seems to be less tight.  Should have a better feel for the situation by the end of the day.  Just know I sure didn't feel up to par yeserday.

Janet, I remember my dad experiencing the same problem while in the hospital and nursing home.  No wonder she was grouchy and short-tempered.  Glad you had such a fun time at the orange crush party.  It is good for you to be among friends and to laugh as that helps maintain a balance in life when it may seem to be totally over balanced and over burdened.  Hope Darrel is doing well.

Sarah, you are really one busy young lady.  You must have to keep a day book to keep track of where you are suppose to be.  Hope you also schedule some time in your day for friends and yourself as that is so important.

Gord, it sounds like your family is growing and sure hope all goes well for your daughter and the new baby.  I take it tha you are not among the jumpers?  :)

Niita, we had some thunder off and on during the evening but don't think we had a drop of rain.  When my dad was so ill in the hospital and then the nursing homes for about 18 months he had the Animal Planet on TV sometimes around the clock.  Of course, he slept a lot so missed a lot of what was telecast.  I have to admit that I sort of got burned out on it after sitting with him hour after hour and really haven't watched it much since them.  In the last few weeks I have really been enjoying some of the evening programs on the History and History International Channels.

Etta Sue, the little ones say what they are thinking.  That was so cute.  Did you go into the other room to talk after she asked you to do so?  :) Like you I enjoy those "do nothing" days once in a while.  I know we would soon tire of not having something on the calendar to do but we need an occasional break.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Carol

It is a beautiful morning here and we are expecting son sometime this morning as he is going to paint so much for us.  I finished the top for a quilt and we drove it over to the couple who will use their massive sewing machine to stitch it to the batting and backing.  We mentioned dinnertime and they wanted to go to dinner with us - had a fun visit.  He is the one who quilts because of cancer could not continue his job and now keeps very busy doing lovely work with a computerized quilting machine.

Janet:  So many worries for you, it is good that you have a place to vent - right here for sure.  Perhaps the diet for Beth needs some changes because that is really dangerous.
You know that the Orange Crush is the name of a football team in CO?  They are not NFL, but something else.  What a neat idea.

Pat:  If you have a minute to come in here, I hope that you are not overdoing with all this extra volunteer work on SN.  Take care.

Gord Brown:  Prayers for your daughter as well.  How well I remember those days and summertime isn't easy.

Marilyn:  Just saying hello to you at least today.

Larry:  Glad to read that your cough is lessening a bit.  I hope that your weather is cooling a bit - we have had a little bit of rain here & today perhaps more.

Sarah:  You have a lot on your plate, Larry is right to tell you to stop and smell the roses a little too, some short time for yourself at least.  Speaking from aged experience here.

Our friends are back from Peru - not one word of what they went through yet, we are anxious to hear.  We are happy they are back safe and sound.

Marilyn

Good Morning. I have been getting a few things done this morning, more that I thought I would. It is only 7:41 here on the west coast and I have already  stripped and turned my mattress, cleaned and soaked in vinegar my Cpap mask, tubing, and reservoir. Cooked the dogs food for the next week and cleaned up dishes from that, taken my shower and had my breakfast.

I am taking Bebe to the Vet at 9am to have her stitches out, then I will come back and roll my hair hoping that it will have some curl when I take out the rollers about 1pm to get ready for the wedding. In the meantime I want to get in a walk with the dogs, if I can't I will do it this evening.

Hello to everyone. Carol glad to hear that you have some on to do the machine quilting on the huge quilt. I have  stitched on the ditch a quilt on my machine y rolling the quilt very tightly to get it under the arm on machine. I start on one side and go part way the turn it around to the other edge an roll it again. It is not easy as you well know.

Larry glad you are feeling better today.

Janet it sounds like you has some fun and also got some stress relief but going to the Orange party at church.

Once again...my favorite animation above.  Stop and look at it a few seconds, okay?

I just got an email from Kitty...she is wanting to purchase an external hard drive for her desktop or laptop...not sure which.  I guess if it is external, she can use it for both.  She also wants to purchase some green material to use for a backdrop for photography.

I have already gotten a visitor this morning.  My front doorbell rang...no one goes to my front door that knows me.  I opened it and a man was standing there.  He said he seals blacktops and said my blacktop needed sealing.  I told him I have someone who seals my blacktop and will contact him.  I thanked him but said 'No'.  Then he went to Ivalou's and then Kaye Don's.  Every year we have these men come around to seal driveways.  Most are scams.  Tony let one seal his and it was terrible.  The black got on your shoes and you tracked it in and it was lumpy and uneven on the drives.  So everyone is leery of someone coming to your door to seal your blacktops.

I read all the posts but I am in a hurry so won't comment on each today.  Just pray that everyone has a God blessed day.

Hello my dear friends...

This is really me checking in.

It's been an absolutely unreal few weeks.  SeniorNet has gone from the old WebX software that they have had since 1996 to the same software as this and the hosts on there have been very, very busy with the area that we look after.

Yesterday was the big opening as many of you know and each of the discussions on the old SN had to have a link put in them to the new topic on the new site.  Yesterday about 500 discussions were opened to the public!!!

It was actually non-stop.

Now, besides that, in the last two weeks, I've had two friends pass away and Ian's father-in-law had brain surgery this week on a malignant tumor the size of a tennis ball and they couldn't remove all of it and that's not good news so I may have to head to Ottawa.

All of this has left me feeling rather "down" and my bedroom is just looking so comfortable right now.  It's awful when you start to feel this way and you don't want to go outside.

Today is a very close friend's 50th Wedding Anniversary but I've decided that I won't be travelling to Aurora to attend this function.

Anyway, enough about me.

I've read all the posts in here and I will continue to pray for one and all.

So sorry about Beth, Janet.

With the way I've been feeling lately, the following sure lifted my spirits today when I read my email:

LET US ... ENTER THAT REST

"Now we who have believed enter that rest." Hebrews 4: 3

The Word has "golden nuggets' of truth and principles we often rush through, when we need to stop and quietly walk through these 'rich pastures' and feed our souls upon the many provisions of His grace. "Let us ... enter that rest."

What do you think it means to "believe in God?" It involves unreserved trust ... a full conscious commitment ... one who relies completely on God ... one who adheres to the truth without question. Our belief in God is the result of the Holy Spirit drawing us unto Him, and a child-like faith [that is, we lean upon God with our entire personality in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and grace, that finds its validity in the sterling majestic character of God].

Many of God's promises are conditional and are contingent upon our appropriating them in simple faith and meet the conditions given. Isaiah spoke of this "rest wherewith you may cause the weary to rest ... and this is the refreshing." [Isa. 28: 12] It is the "rest' that comes to us when we turn from the weariness of 'our' sin, from the hopelessness of 'our' walk, and the fruitlessness of 'our' efforts. We can only be reconciled to God and find HIS "rest" through the Atonement of Christ...(His sacrificial death upon the Cross for our sins). Unbelief is seen in the many erroneous ways man improvises to gain favor with God, rather than accepting by faith, the ONLY WAY God has provided ... through Jesus Christ, His Son, Our Savior.

How precious is this "rest." It is knowing the reality of His care, His comfort, and His companionship. His "rest" invades our life as we claim and appropriate the promises He has given. David knew of this wonderful "rest' as he writes in Ps. 23 ... "He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters, he restores my soul." Such a blessed "rest" is ours as we accept the truth of His Word and apply it in believing faith in practical everyday life. His truth is simple, yet profound. To know His "rest" ... is to rest in Him!

But God's "rest" is not arbitrarily given to all Believers. We cannot presume upon the grace of God. We cannot behave inconsistently and disrespectfully to the principles and truth of God's Word and expect God to overlook the sin of such a life. He will not give unto us "His rest" when our walk is characterized in such a manner.

God is merciful and will forgive all who will come in repentance and be restored. The Psalmist experienced this ... "The sorrows of death compassed me: I found trouble and sorrow. Then I called upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and he helped me ... RETURN UNTO THY REST ... O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. [Ps. 116: 1-7]

Do not be disillusioned by man's erroneous teaching or by the deceitfulness of your heart. Only God can impart the "rest" your soul longs for. Jesus said, "Come unto me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." [Matt. 11:28-30]

Have you claimed this "rest' that is yours in Christ? Dare to Believe!

{{{hugs}}} to you Pat.  I'm sorry about Iain's FIL.  I'll be prayng for him.  Good to see you checking in.  Things are fine here, :)

We are taking the kids to see a Magic School Bus exhibit today.  They are looking forward to it.  The MSB is a cartoon/book series that has a class taking "field trips" with their teacher Ms. Frizzle.  It's pretty cool and educational.

Bernard rearranged the living room this morning.  he does that periodically.  If it were up to me, the furniture would NEVER move!

Have a good day, all!

Janet

Karma, Bernard must be feeling good if he's moving heavy furniture around.  In most families, it is the husband who doesn't want things changed around in the house!

Good to have you back, Pat!  I hope I can start going to Sr. Net again; haven't been able to get it for a long time now.  Maybe you can send me a link, and I can re-register or something.

I'm really tired tonight, spent from 9-6 at the library with my scrapbooking friends.  I made a dozen cards.

Larry, glad to hear you are feeling better.

Etta Sue, another scam is those guys coming around wanting to paint your roof.  If you let them do it, the first good rain you get, the so-called paint washes off.  Wouldn't it be nice if everyone were honest?  But it just isn't so.

Carol, I hadn't heard of the Orange Crush team.  Glad you had a lovely day, and how nice to eat with friends and enjoy a good visit.

Hey there, Sarah!  Which store are you managing, Keyes or Boise City?  Maybe Keyes doesn't even have a Hut, been a long time since I was down that way.

Wal*Mart is looking at Ulysses and may be putting in a super center here.  Lots of mixed feelings about that--some are delighted, others very concerned about the impact on the small stores we have, especially concerned that one of our grocery stores may go out of business.  Time will tell, I guess.  Hugoton is getting a 300 million dollar cellulosic ethanol plant, so they are excited about that.

I'm going to go vegetate for a while! ^-^
