Morning Devotional...Evangelism:
The Longing After Eternity
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts.... --Ecclesiastes 3:11
We take it for granted and we are not surprised at all about the eternal nature of God but the greater wonder is that God has seen fit to put His own everlastingness within the hearts of men and women....
I believe that this is the truth about our troubles and our problems: We are disturbed because God has put everlastingness in our hearts. He has put a longing for immortality in our beings. He has put something within men and women that demands God and heaven--and yet we are too blind and sinful to find Him or even to look for Him!...
Men and women need to be told plainly, and again and again, why they are disturbed and why they are upset. They need to be told why they are lost and that if they will not repent they will certainly perish. Doctors and counselors will tell troubled men and women that their problems are psychological, but it is something deeper within the human being that troubles and upsets--it is the longing after eternity!
Dr. Tozer in Christ the Eternal Son, pp. 52-54"Lord, we long for eternity, but there is so much commotion, activity, and noise in our world that that longing is too often drowned out. Help me to break through that madness with the message of Christ today. Amen."
From the Writings of Dr. Tozer
Pat I was wondering......
I do enjoy reading Tozer. Thank you for that.
Thanks, Pat ... Something to thnk about.

Pat I was wondering......
What were you wondering?
You had said you were not well....Would you need someone to cover you?
Hi everyone. I got up a little earlier than usual today so have had time to get caught up on my e-mail and now reading the message boards. The only thing on my schedule after coffee and walking this morning is my Monday men's luncheon. I have several new projects here at my desk so won't be bored today.
Janet, it sounds like everything worked as you would want it to. I am sure John's visit will lighten the days for Beth and create many new memories for her, not the least being her special birthday party. You are so thoughtful towards her and other people. I am glad to have you as my friend, although we will probably never have the opportunity to meet in person (but you never know).
Pat, thanks for the devotional. It is another good one.
A friend sent me the following and I felt it was too good not to share:
A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an
audience, raised a glass of water and asked,
"How heavy is this glass of water?"
Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.
The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't
matter.
It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.
If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my
right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call
an ambulance.
In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I
hold it, the heavier it becomes."
He continued,
"And that's the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later,
as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be
able to carry on. "
"As with the glass of water,
you have to put it down for a while and rest before
holding it again.
When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the
burden."
"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of
work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up
tomorrow.
Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down
for a moment if you can."
So, my friend, why not take a while to just simply
RELAX.
Put down anything that may be a burden to you right
now. Don't pick it up again until after you've rested
a while Life is short. Enjoy it!
Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens
of life:
* Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some
days you're the statue.
* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case
you have to eat them.
* Always read stuff that will make you look good if
you die in the middle of it.
* Drive carefully It's not only cars that can be
recalled by their maker.
* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to
be vague.
* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person
again, it was probably worth it.
* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply
to serve as a warning to others.
* Never buy a car you can't push.
* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time,
because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
* Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up
and dance.
* Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the
bird, sleep late.
* The second mouse gets the cheese.
* When everything's coming your way, you're in the
wrong lane.
* Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the
longer you live.
* You may be only one person in the world, but you may
also be the world to one person.
* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
* We could learn a lot from crayons...
Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull.
Some have weird names, and all are different colors,
but they all have to live in the same box.
*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery
on a detour.
Have an awesome day and know that
someone has thought about you today
[/bI] have made breakfast for John and he has gone to see Beth. Darrel has a chiropractic appointment this morning; also the auctioneer will be out later to talk about when he can do the auction for us. I will go out to Beth's and start working again as soon as I finish here. Sounds like a Monday, doesn't it? ;)
Larry, thank you for those kind words. I certainly thank God for your friendship as well, and look forward to meeting you, either here on earth or in our heavenly home.
Pat, I enjoyed the devotional this morning, and Larry, thanks for sharing the stress management thing. Lots of truth in both!
I did get rested up yesterday afternon, napped and read a whole book! Most unusual for me, but it felt good.
I will likely be back later to see who else is doing what else today. ;)[/color]

Awesome Sunday. Church, Sunday School, Red Lobster, and back to church for a wedding reception. I love Sundays.
Today Kitty, another lady and I are going to the State Fairgrounds to pickup our photos. Yesterday was the last day of the State Fair. I didn't get to go this year...Ivalou is still getting over her gout and I just didn't feel like I wanted to do all that walking. After getting our photos we are going to Don Pablos...a tradition now, I think. Then home.
Maybe Kitty and I will go swimming tomorrow!
Bright and sunny in Indiana. A little cool but I like that!!tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la

Larry thank you for those words, I am going to print it out, and post it above my desk.
Didn't wake up till 11:00, that is really late for me. Feels good to have the extra rest.
The local farmer is hay cutting/raking/bailing. Not too sure which. sometime he is a little inefficient. He just takes life a little easier than most people. A few years ago his wife died of breast cancer. It wasn't diagnosed soon enough. so he and his son work the farm. He is a really kind "old" gent, loves to have the girls go our and ride the tractor with him.
Got to go I have beans to can and then off to the hospital. The girls have been wonderful in keeping the house up. I am really proud of them.
Good devotional, thanks Pat.
A beautiful day here on the island. Sure can't find much to complain about in that dept.
How nice that John has come to see Beth. What book did you read Janet?
I wonder JudyB. if you might have some advice about a small Dachshund that barks when visitors are in the house....and even when the owners are alone and move about. It is not lacking anything, love, attention, company of another wee dog, just barks for no reason. They spray with water, say Quiet, all that stuff and now are going to try my suggestion of time out each time it barks, no punishing, simply into the laundry room for a while. My friends are getting stressed!!!
I have been having dizzy spells for sometime and it seems to be getting worse. Not feeling too swift. Will see the doctor on Friday. Strange things are happening!!
Quote* Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some
days you're the statue.
True words, Larry. I can relate.
Read a cute smile: "If you're going to do something tonight that you'll be sorry for in the morning, sleep late."
Does that mean if we sleep late, the above applies???? ;)
Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.
Liz
Liz, Go to a good quality pet store and get a bark collar. They nay have to use it constantly for a few days, but as the "no bark" kicks in, They will be able to start taking the collar off. But when he starts to bark again the collar goes back on. It will get to the point that all they will have to do is take the bark collar out of its place and the dog will be quiet. This takes patience....but it will work.
We have spent an enjoyable evening going through photos of the past 40 plus years. What wonderful memories. We found pictures I had thought we had lost.
Now to start sorting them into people, years and topics. The work has yet to begin!
We are heading to bed. Night all.
:) Good evening or good morning to all. Again I have not been on the site for a while as it seems that so many things are going on. ;) Since I was last here we went to a cottage with our whole family and had a wonderful time except I got hit on my ankle at the golf course and it was a very bad bruise and the swelling is still not gone completely and it does hurt a lot if I am on it to much. So I have had to stay of my feet a lot and keep my knee elevated/  At the cottage it is the first time that we have had all our kids together for a long time and also the grandkids most of the time when we were there the weather was not to bad and the kids had a great time. 8) Well it is late and I should get to bed tomorrow is an other busy day and would ask for prayer for my son Danny as he had a job interview today and will find out if he gets it next week so please pray for him.
Larry: How are things with your kids hope that your daughter is doing better.
Well Good night to all other on C.P. Gord. <3
Hi everyone. Another fairly early morning but want to write before my day really gets started. This morning after coffee I have to make a quick stop at the bank and then head down and pick up our daughter. She is coming out to see the chiropractor and to spend the night with us.
Gord, she is doing OK in some ways but not so good in others. She describes the pain in her bad foot as being like a knife sticking into it all the time and takes very strong pain medication. She has trouble controlling her blood sugar and her heart rate but constant back pain. She has come to the conclusion that she will never be able to drive again and know she is worried about how long she will be able to live alone. However, these are things to think about on another day, not today. We will just enjoy having her visit with us. Glad your family had such a nice visit together and sure hope your son is hired. Getting hit on a golf course doesn't sound like a very good thing to have happen.
Yesterday I had a glorious afternoon. My daughter and her two children are at their summer home, about 25 miles from me and I spent the afternoon with them. This is the first time in more than a year they've been here - they live in North Carolina and it's about a 13 hour drive so not a trip they take for a weekend. ;)
Now today more mundane chores loom, the first of which is to fill my gas tank - and there goes the bank account! :D

Kitty, Rachel and I had a great time yesterday at the State Fairgrounds. I got home fairly early in the afternoon and I played on the laptop. I made some 'slates'/backgrounds to upload on the church computer. When I do 'images' I also print them and we have a binder that whoever can look in it to see what they want to put in the cue list instead of having to look at tiny thumbnails. So I used my 'new' printer. Excellent printing. I am really going to enjoy this printer!
Today Kitty and I are going to play Euchre with a classmate and then we are going swimming. She wants to take flowers to her mother's grave, I want to go to Michael's and of course, we will eat out somewhere.
Bright and sunny and to get to 84° today. Great day for swimming!
Edit: Hi Jeanne. I see you were posting as I was composing!

Gord I sent you an email last week. Did you get it?
This is a cool day today. A little overcast and breezy. If it had been a hot summer this would be welcomed.
We have an appointment in town with Kassie. Then on to see if we can get her orthotics. Hopefully that will correct her ankle problems.
I have made a deal with Doug. I will supply him with a bushel of Spy Apples and flour and shortening, and he will make apple pies for me. For every pir he makes I will bake him a loaf of bread. The bread can be Zucchini, white, brown, or raisin. They love the bread I bake and we love his apple pie. So this works for both of us. I will be freezing the pies for future use.
Got to go,
JudyB
:) Hi Judy B. I did receive your email and I thought that I had replied to you but I apoligize to you if I did not.
Hope that John is looking after himself. and what is the actual problem with his leg. Pleases email me and tell me. <3
Al: How are you doing I hope that your legs are getting better and that you will be able to get your proper sleep in a bed.
Larry: Thanks for the reply. God bless. :coffee:
Good afternoon.... I did something, this morning, that I haven't done in a very long time! I went to a movie. :D Every 4th Tuesday, a local bank sponsors free movies for Seniors (those 50 or better, as they say). Today I saw Julie and Julia (or is it the other way around?) I really enjoyed it and the theater was full to capacity! I do believe I'll go again. My neighbors said they'll be going next month.
My neighbor is currently working on my saggine back porch ... he found it to be all rotten along one edge from years of rain running in there. He has already taken care of most of the rain leakage problem but then he was concerned about the "soft spots" and afraid I'd fall through one day. :-\ He is hard at work on that project now .. having to replace a lot of 2x4's and sheets of plywood.
Hello, friends. My day was a lot different than lately. Instead of working on Beth's place, I worked on ours! Got a lot of cleaning done; also went to the care home to finalize plans for the birthday party on Friday; ordered the ice cream cakes, and then worked on Beth's scrapbook for a couple of hours.
The auctioneer came yesterday to look over what we want to sell, said he will check his calendar and call us with a date. We are shooting for mid-October. Darrel spent two days repairing water lines in Beth's trailer. I have gone through all her stuff, but am having a hard time making decisions as to what to do with a lot of it. :-\
Liz, the book I read on Sunday was titled Just Breathe. Now I am reading one of the series Brides of Lancaster County, titled A Merry Heart. But it will be read in shorter bursts. I feel guilty if I sit and read very much (leftover from childhood punishments, I believe.) I always read a while before I go to sleep.
The lawyer called me yesterday to double check some dates, and we are happy to know he is working on the case. I keep hearing more and more stories about this doctor, none of which are good. :(
Time to sign off and go read a while. Good night, everybody! Good night, moon! ;) 8)
Hi everyone. This will be another busy day as have to make another trip to Atlanta to take our daughter home this morning. She has an afternoon doctor's appointment so needs to get back to her apartment by noon. Then this evening is choir. I will go to coffee in a few minutes.
Tomorrow morning I go to the hospital and will have the bi-lateral hernia surgery done at 1 pm (or at least that is when it is scheduled). I will be glad to have that behind me although can't say I have worried about it. What I really dread is the necessity of my wife having to make the long trip to the hospital and then do the walking in the long corridors of the hospital. I am glad it is summer so the daylight stays around longer. I certainly want her to get home before dark.
Janet, it sounds like you are getting things lined up well on several fronts. Do you feel like a General or the private doing a lot of the work or perhaps both? :)
Jane, good for you getting out and going to the movies. It has been years since I went out to a movie. It is more comfortable and more economical to watch them at home.
Judy, that sounds like a good deal on the apple pies and the bread.
Etta Sue, having your book of slides is a good idea. It is hard to tell much from a thumbnail. Glad you like your new printer.
Jeanne, so nice to read of your time spent with your family. I know you have been looking forward to their arrival for the summer by what you have already said.
Good morning! It is such a beautiful morning here, nice and cool. But it likely won't last long.
I have been to the chiropractor and to the care home already. Stopped and bought some doughnuts, just what we needed. :-[
I'm not exactly sure what to tackle today. But it isn't for a lack of things needing done.
Pat, where are you? And how are you? I miss you.
Larry, I guess I feel a little like both a private and a general. So many decisions to make......... :-\
Guess I'd better see what I want to tackle next.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FBear_Hugs.gif&hash=437fa1f938a547d32e6b09021d531c9e13d50a3a)
Jane ~ Wasn't 'Julie and Julia' a great movie? Meryll Streep played Julia Child to a 'T'. I am thinking that they had her standing on something most of the time to make her appear much taller than the others. Meryll Streep isn't that tall! (I learned from my husband to notice things like that in movies...like items that are in the wrong era and such)
Kitty and I had a good time playing Euchre and got to the swimming pool at 5pm. Not too many people swimming so we had plenty of room to do some laps. Then we went to Don Pablos. Monday I got a rewards card and registered online. So we got a free Dip Sampler. Four kinds of dips for our tortilla chips. Then we went to Michael's for some items and didn't get back home until 8:30pm. I thought I was going to go to Kitty's sister's near Ft. Wayne today but that has been cancelled.
So I am going to play with the laptop and printer. I am going to print some images on inkjet printable Shrinky Dink. Then cut it out, punch holes for a key chain or O rings for earrings. Then you bake it in the oven for 3-5 minutes. It shrinks in size and triples in thickness. Then I will have a pair of earrings and a key chain charm. Sounds good...now to see if it works! Here's the website (http://photojojo.com/content/diy/shrink-plastic-photo-jewelry/)
that I got the idea from.
I see where Kennedy passed away. I didn't realize he was that bad. But then I don't watch the news. I heard this from my classmate in Mexico!!
Bright and sunny in Indiana. Really too nice to stay inside but I must!MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ELgcypt.gif&hash=bf944d219138a3803a946828d00624586ff27f95)
Janet, I'm so glad you enjoyed the devotional. Glad, too, that John has been able to visit Beth.
Larry, thanks for the "stress management" write-up! ;) Glad you enjoyed the dovotional this week. I so enjoy Dr. Tozer.
Liz, how are your dizzy spells. I was dizzy the other day and it really isn't a nice feeling. I laid down for a wee while and it seemed to clear up.
Nice to see you drop in, Gord. Just wish it were more frequent! ;)
Judy, how's the canning/preserving/freezing doing? I have no freezer space left since turning off the power to the huge one in the fruit cellar.
Larry, will be praying for you tomorrow. Sorry about your having to go through this.
"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever." John 14:16
I thank God for the miracle of answered prayer. I say to you, friends, I believe in a God who can do supernatural things through the prayers of God's people. I have seen God do it. I have had God do it for me. I have had God work miracles in my life that are so delicate, yet so wonderful that I am almost reluctant to even refer to them. But God is a miracle-working God. God, my friends, answers the prayers olf people who pray for a clean heart and believe His promises. Jesus said, "When I go, I am going to pray that God will send another." Pentecost is a proof that God answers prayer. Oh, thank God for answered prayer.
Talking about this "God is dead" foolishness. It is such a ridiculous discussion that it is hardly worth talking about. "Is God dead?" This is the most ridiculous thing in the world. Only someone with a "fluffy" head could ever discuss something like that. Someone asked a lady what she thought about it.
She answered, "I know that He isn't dead."
"How do you know?"
"Because I just talked to Him this morning!" was her reply.-T.M.
Hi everyone I am checking in here to let you all know that I am here reading even if I am not posting anything.
It is a beautiful day here in Oregon Sunshine and blue sky just the right temperature. We finally got all the wood into the backyard and in the places it will stay. A few cords under the deck covered with plastic, about a cork in the shed and about the same beside the shed.
Jane I 'm glad you enjoyed the movie, i would love to go next time too bad it is on the 4th Tuesday, I have some place to be on that day every month.
Pat How is Geordie doing? Happy gets so excited abut going on his daily walks with me. He is starting to have some trouble getting into the car and coming up the 2 steps to the small deck off the master bedroom. Bebe is doing fine she is 9 now to Happy's 12.
Yes, how is Geordie doing Pat?
I have been fighting a nasty bladder infection again and mostly staying quiet. Can't take the standing presc. from the drugstore as last time(s) had terrible reaction to the medication. Will see the dr. tomorrow...tho' that was not the reason I made the appt. in the first place. Dizzy spells have held off at the moment....unless I move too fast. Hah!! :(
That was a nice bit about prayer, Pat. Sometimes we forget that God hears even a small one. Like when my friend and I would have had a very hot two hour wait when it looked impossible for us to get on the ferry to come home from SaltSpring the other day. I said a little prayer and we were the last to get on.....fit us in like a part of a crowded puzzle. B. had said it would take a miracle to get us on. I told her I said a little prayer.....she thought I was :idiot: This from a person who had attended church most of her life. Oh, those of little faith!
It feels like fall here on the island. I poked my head out for a few minutes and it has that 'feeling' in the air.
Nothing of interest to write about so will wish everyone a : Pleasant Evening/Day and God Bless.
Liz
Hi everyone. I had a good nights sleep and will go to coffee shortly. Then we will head over to the hospital as I am suppose to check in at 11 am. I am sure I will be fine today so haven't worried about it. God will take good care of me. If I don't post for a couple of days (which isn't likely) don't be alarmed. I appreciate your prayers and expressions of concern.
We pray, Father, for our brother Larry as he goes in to this operation. We pray You'll give special skill to the doctors, and we pray You'll keep them from all errors, etc. We pray You'll bless the results as well, and that he'll be able to thank You for the entire episode. Oh do these things, Father, through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen
Amen, Al. I add my prayer for the success of Larry's procedure.
Yes, Fall is definitely in the air. I think a nighttime temperature of 48 degrees is a pretty good indication of that! ;)
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FAngel3.gif&hash=0185a073d3affb3b51413a0e554935a74c784f60)
Amen. I am adding my prayers for Larry also.
Yesterday was a do nothing day. I did get some printing done and played with my plastic art. I really like how it turned out but too big. You are to print your images three times larger than you want. Mine is still large, I think. But it was easy and fun!
Today I have less on my plate to do than yesterday so it absolutely will be a do nothing day. I did have a time getting online this morning. I think that Windows does an update in the background and it makes me think I am having problems with my wireless internet. Then I try to restart the laptop and it won't even shut down. I wish I knew when it was doing an update and then I wouldn't be alarmed when it does...at least, I would know what is going on. Oh, well! I printed a card on the desktop while the laptop was doing its thing!
Bright and sunny and already too hot. It feels like summer here in the daytime and fall at night! I like that though. SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE

Larry I have been praying.
Enjoyed talking to you today Pat...our calls are too far apart.
I have been asked what I have done lately with preserving. 5 dozen corn canned, Zucchini relish is on the stove, not sure how many jars that will be but there is alot! We are running out of the ordinary mason jars, and have reverted to the ones Mother used with the glass lids! I have a bushel of tomatoes to do, need another bushel. 2, 3 litre baskets of peaches and pears and 2 small baskets of beats. Elizabeth is out picking the last of the beans!! Writing that out is rather overwhelming!
Today started cold, +7*C, yet it has turned out to be quite a lovely day. The girls are set up to sleep in the tent again, they enjoy that.
Got to run I can smell the vinegar boiling.
Larry: My prayers are for excellent results from your surgery and a quick recovery.
Pat: I do hope you are feeling well - take care.
Blessings to all.
Janet, here is a picture of me and one of the sandcastles. The 2010 Olympics was the theme this year. Thought you might find it of interest......and anyone else who might look!

Liz, that's a great picture. I do so admire those artists who can carve (build?) such wonderful scenes that way.
Judy, we've been getting down to around 7 or 8 celsius (48 F) the last couple of nights and the days, in spite of bright sunny skies, have only got up to 20 or 22 celsius (68-70 F). Fall is definitely on the way.
Have you visited the mini-challenge lately? The current subject is "Joy of Children" and there are some awesome photos. Liz I love that picture of you!! YOu are one beautiful young lady!
We are back at it. Today Tomatoes. We are making tomato spaghetti sauce.
IT was another cold night last night. I kept the bedroom windows open though....Just added a blanket. Mind you most of the night I kicked it off.
Have a great day everyone.

Today is a doctor appointment for Ivalou in the morning and I have one this afternoon with my surgeon. I am not pleased with this InterStim Therapy at all. Just hope that something can be done...even more surgery. But I can't see any improvement other that possibly 10%. That isn't what I was anticipating.
It is cloudy and overcast today...but suppose to get hot and humid. /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Please pray for our family. Dana just got hit by a car, She is gone.... The girls saw it happen. She was such a sweetheart. I am broken up by this.....
Oh, Judy! How terrible. :'(
Oh Judy, I am so sorry. How terrible for your girls to witness it happen. Of course a prayer will be said.
God Bless,
Liz
Judy, I can't imagine the anguish in your home right now. :'( I'm so sorry. Of course, I'll be praying.
Oh Judy I do know what you are going through at this time. Dana has been a wonderful member of your family and she was so loved by all of you. I have seen this in the past with one of my precious dogs. but she survived.
Hi everyone. Thank you for all your prayers and they were answered.
I came through the surgery without problems but did have to stay in the hospital until this afternoon. I will be taking things pretty easy for a few days as am extremely sore but sure each day will help that. Think I will sleep in my easy chair as much easier to get up from. I got very little rest in the hospital last night as was in a lot of pain until about 2:30 am. At that time I took another pain pill and they gave me some ear plugs so I could block out the noise of the IV machine and then I was able to get comfortable and sleep a two or three hours. I had hoped to be able to go to church Sunday but have decided that is too optimistic at this point.
Judy, sorry to hear about Dana. It is always a sad time when a family pet is no longer with us.
Etta Sue, sorry to read that your procedure has not been as successful as you had hoped. Maybe they can do some fine tuning.
Liz, I liked your picture.
Larry: Take your time in recuperating. Rest and get well soon.
Etta Sue: That is so irritating when a surgery isn't up to par and I hope that in time things will be better - perhaps a 2nd. surgery may be the answer. Hugs to you.
Liz: You look good standing by the beach sculpture! Isn't it amazing what artists can do with sand and water? They have a gift and I hope they know it.
Judy: Sorry for the loss of your children's pet.
My classmate came today - she flew in from Tennessee yesterday. They live in an planned golf community and two children are in separate cities, Here & Chicago so she goes to each child's house either once or twice per year. She is a quilter and a knitter - far more talented than anything I make (especially knitting). We had a great time bumming around & I brought her over here for a short visit too.
Praise the Lord for our Larry's surgery going well, and prayers are being said for a quick and complete recovery. You have such a great attitude, Larry. God bless you.
Etta Sue, I am so sorry you didn't get the results you had hoped for. You were so excited about having that problem solved. Hope you can get it like you want it.
Liz! Thank you for that lovely photo! You look great! And my, what those artists can do with sand and water, huh? Such detail and to think of that being sand....just amazing. So sorry some idiots vandalized some of the sculptures though.
Judy, sorry to hear of your loss of the family pet. It sure does hurt to let them go, they steal your heart quickly. (((hugs)))
Beth's party went really well this afternoon. We did a safari theme, and used some of her many stuffed animals on the tables, with balloons attached; birthday confetti, and the safari gift bags for each attendee with a 7" animal and an animal print pencil and a small animal print notebook inside. She also received more balloons, flowers, and many gifts. There were quite a few more people there than I had anticipated, but everything went really well, and I didn't have to bring home any of her ice cream cake to store in the freezer. They ate it all!
John sat on one side of Beth, Becki on the other, and they helped her with her gifts. Her sister Diane recorded all the gifts for her.
On her cakes I had them put Happy Birthday Beth on one, and on the other--We're Glad You're Still Here!! God gave her another miracle and we are all so happy. Even our wonderful chiropractor, Dr. Saxon, came. It was a lovely time.
I'm tired and think I will go lie in bed and read a while before I fall asleep.
Hi, friends,
I'm sorry I've been away, but had a period of serious illness, so am MOST GRATEFUL to praise God tonight of His healing power. Today the specialist dismissed me and removed the IV line.
Please choose Psalm 103 from your favorite version of the Bible and read it. Then, please go back and read the first 3 verses. These have been really meaningful to me during the time I've been away.
Larry, it's so good to learn of your surgery and now of your recovery. May God continue to grant you His mercies daily.
Janet, what great news to be able to celebrate Beth's birthday this year!!!
Pat, how are you and how's Geordie? We love you and Paul.
Judy, we saw one of our pets be hit by a car - she was taking an around the block walk with us, and that car never even stopped! It's really traumatic. I'm so sorry for your family's loss.
Hello to all our other friends here at CP. It's wonderful to "hear" your voices online once again!
Ruth Ann
Hi everyone. A beautiful day here in Georgia. Pat has opening the front and screened porch doors to let in some fresh air and we can hear the birds singing. I will probably spend the day just resting either here in my easy chair or laying down.
I decided to bypass the easy chair last night and go to bed and sure glad I did as had a very good nights rest. Only had to get up once during the night and while painful made it after a couple of tries. It was a little easier getting out of bed this morning and the shower felt good.
I have just the project to keep my mind occupied the next couple of days because can work on the church music library project while staying quiet.
Janet, it sounds like the party was enjoyed by all. I am sure you know how to plan and give great parties. Glad so many came and helped Beth celebrate her birthday.
Ruth Ann, I know you were glad to get the pic line removed.
Carol, I am convinced that anytime you get two quilters together they will have a good time. Nice that you could spend time with your friend.
Larry, I'm glad you are healing so nicely and it's great that you have a nice quiet project to work on. ;)
Enjoy your lovely weather. Here it's only 58 degrees and raining. It looks like the two days of real summer weather we had last week are all the summer we'll have this year. :'( I still have a couple of windows open - I just hate to have to close the house up yet, but it looks like it won't be long.
Have you voted in our mini-challenge yet?
Only two more days!

So sorry to hear about Dana. Glad to see Larry and Ruth Ann back among us.
The trip to see the Physicians Assistant was okay. I didn't realize that there are several programs to put into the stimulator but only 4 at a time. I guess you could say there are many of them. She changed the program and I am to see the surgeon next Friday. Well, this program isn't working either. I was up 6 times in the night and finally got two hours of un-broken sleep between 7am and 9am. Just praying that they will find a program that works without more surgery but I am ready for more surgery if needed to get the results.
Ivalou and I are getting ready to go to Woody's to eat and then to Kitty and Bob's to check on the cars. They are in Ohio and are staying another day because the grandson's pool birthday party was rained out! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Yikes, Etta Sue! I'll continue praying with you for a resolution to the issues. Sleep broken that many times is probably not coming even close to giving you enough rest.
I think it's just about time for a little siesta. ;) Wonder how long I'll sleep....
YOu know we say dumb animals...We have 3 Spaniels Cimi Stiches and Keziah. Cimi went to where Dana was lying, and knew. I didn't let the other dogs out. Today Stiches is pacing and keeps going to the door. When I let her out she heads for all of Dana's haunts. She too is missing our girl.
Well I have all the produce done that I had bought. I have the last pears and peaches done as well. I would love to get more, it sure is nice to have fruit for dessert in the winter without paying the store prices. I will take a picture when it is all done, and with Jeanne's help re size it and post it. My shelving is filling up nicely!
Etta Sue I am sorry that surgery didn't work like you were expecting. Ruth Ann I am continuing to pray. Larry I am praying for you too. All other requests that I haven't mentioned....doesn't mean I forgot you. I remember each person here at CP.
"with Jeanne's help"
Judy, did Pat leave her whip with you? LOL Of course, you know I'll be delighted to help. :)
Whip??? Ummmmm... well...... Thank you for offering to help! LOL
Folks we have one more day

Last night was so much better even after a nap yesterday afternoon and Saturday nights are usually rough because I am afraid I won't wake up for church...even with the alarm set. Duh!
But I am up and ready for church. Today I run the projection system. I usually practice with Ruth Ann on Saturday evening but she didn't call me last night.
Looks like a cloudy day. Hope it doesn't rain. The church picnic is this afternoon...---<---<-@---<---<-@---<---<-@---<---<-@---<---<-@---<---<-@

Hi everyone. We will not be attending church today as felt that was pushing it a little. However, we will probably go out and get something for lunch today to give Pat a break on cooking. We almost always eat out on Sundays.
I really made a lot of progress yesterday in my recovery. I am a lot more mobile without pain. I was really tired last evening and went to bed shortly after 8 pm and was too tired to read as I usually do. However, a lot of healing occurred as I rested so guess that was what was needed. I should be able to drive tomorrow and am planning on resuming my activities tomorrow. I will continue to take things easy today.
I don't understand the teens of today..... I picked Kassie up from a friends home and she waltzes in with all kinds of clothes the friend gave her. That would never have happened when I was young. The clothes are beautiful, and she will get a lot of use out of them. Even though I don't understand this I do appreciate it. Every time the girls go to a friends they come home with more and different clothes. I have to say though Kass has stayed within the clothing guidelines that we have set.
This is another cold day. We are wishing we had wood in the basement, we would be lighting the furnace today. The stove is shut off so no heat from that.
Check P&P on John, please.
It is so good to have Larry recouperating in supernatural time, and posting! Way to go, God! Also great to have our Ruth Ann back with us. We missed you, Ruth Ann.
I need to go to the home and see what they have done to Beth's chair this time. They keep pulling the wires out of the control box that reclines and sits it up. >:( Hav e to take Darrel along so he can fix it, I'm not much of a mechanic.
I had planned on having a lazy afternoon, we will see......
Well, it's a little early, but you'll be able to go right on here: http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=8943.msg137901#msg137901
