Morning Devotional...GOOD TIDINGS OF GREAT JOYAnd the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord,"Luke 2:10-11.
Beloved, the greatest wonder ever revealed in heaven or earth was the wonder recorded in the verses before us for consideration. In His sovereign good pleasure the God of heaven sent His angel, together with a multitude of heavenly host to proclaim, "
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."
Never before was such a joyful message proclaimed; never was such peace proclaimed; never was such overwhelming and soul's ravishing tidings brought to fallen man that Jesus was born in Bethlehem's manger.
This eternal wonder was the fulfilling of the promise made to our first parents in the garden of Eden, and the answer to the prayers and longing desires of all God's dear children-including many righteous kings and prophets.
According to God's eternal decree and His adorable providence, the moment had come wherein the wonder of wonders should be revealed to the amazement of heaven and earth-God manifest in the flesh! The tidings of great joy were that, "
Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other," in this God Man, Psalm 85:10.
Rather than leave one sin unpunished our heavenly Father "...
gave his only begotten Son..." to suffer, bleed and die, making "...
peace through the blood of his cross," Colossians 1:20. This is the peace spoken of by the angel to the shepherds of Ephratah.
This peace between an offended God and a guilty sinner could only be obtained by God, "...who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ," not imputing our trespasses unto us. "
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him," 2 Corinthians 5:18-21.
Sin would be the only thing that could cause fear for such a heavenly host, so what were these good tidings? His name shall be called "
JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins," Matthew 1:21. "Fear not!" Oh, beloved, I would to God that we could say this to every one, but have you been saved from your sins? Has Jesus been born in your heart? Or do you still love sin?
Does your heart cry out with the Apostle Paul, in Philippians 3:10, "
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death"? Do you long as Paul did, for that intimate relationship with Christ, desiring to be raised with Him unto that newness of life? Do you long to be made conformable unto His death? "
For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God," Romans 6:10.
If we can say with the apostle Paul, "
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ," then we have nothing to fear, and we can take part in those good tidings with great joy. Amen.
BEHOLD! The grace appears (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/Festal_Song.mid)
(Click to hear music)
BEHOLD! The grace appears
The promise is fulfilled!
Mary, the wondrous virgin, bears,
And Jesus is the child.
The Lord, the highest God,
Calls him his only Son;
He bids him rule the lands abroad,
And gives him David's throne.
O'er Jacob shall he reign
With a peculiar sway;
The nations shall his grace obtain,
His kingdom ne'er decay.
To bring the glorious news
A heavenly form appears;
He tells the shepherds of their joys,
And banishes their fears.
"Go, humble swains," said he,
"To David's city fly,
The promised Infant born to-day
Does in a manger lie.
"With looks and hearts serene,
Go visit Christ, your King";
And straight a flaming troop was seen;
The shepherds heard them sing:
"Glory to God on high,
And heavenly peace on earth;
Good will to men, to angels joy,
At the Redeemer's birth!"
In worship so divine
Let saints employ their tongues;
With the celestial host we join,
And loud repeat their songs:
"Glory to God on high,
And heavenly peace on earth;
Good will to men, to angels joy,
At the Redeemer's birth!"

Hi Larry....I just wanted you to know I clicked on the link for Pandora and it came up no bother. I did not even registar but it let me type in the name of a singer of song. Just off the top of the head I put in Jim Reeves and they played him and then other singers of similiar style as you had indicated. This is very good and thank you very much for the link.
Hi to everyone else!!
Isn't that strange, Colin, that you can and we can't here in Canada! That's good you can though so enjoy!
How's the weather over there?
PAT, I owe you another heartfelt Thank You!!! (You know why.)
I spent FOUR hours in the ophthalmologist's office this morning, they put me through every eye test they can do. My head hurt and my eyes were so tired and blurry I could barely see. They had used dilating drops, deadening drops, other drops I don't know, and did tests, tests and more tests. I was so worn out I didn't even want to go try on any clothes, and Darrel had planned to buy me a new outfit for Christmas. We got home around 5 this evening and I immediately took a nap. My eyes are still burning, so as soon as I finish this, I will go put drops in them.
I will have surgery on my left eye this Friday (14th) and on the right eye Dec. 28. I pray for excellent results, I am so tired of not seeing clearly.
I did hear tonight, Carol, that both shootings were done by the same young man. How horrible, when even churches need security guards! So sad. :'(
I must get off this computer!
Good Evening (in the voice of Alfred Hitchcock). It has been a long day. I had 1½ hours between jobs as I left the first job early to go to Eureka to my Chiropractor. I was 20 minutes late for my 2nd job. I sure feel a lot better after my adjustment as I woke up this morning with a glitch in my hip and neck. The Hand surgeon's office called today so I will return the call tomorrow and make the appt to see him. I also need to make an appt for both dogs to have a bath this week end hopefully.
Good night.
Good evening....echos Marilyn's Alfred Hitchcock's voice. I forget what he sounded like, but very distinct. That doesn't say much for my memory does it? Distinct....but I forget. lol
I spent time visiting Megan, my new grandbaby, today. She wasn't really impressed and slept most of the time, but I was thoroughly impressed with her. :) I made a Dump Cake and took it for Kim and Paul's desert tonight. A friend brought dinner too.
I was surprised to hear that Paul (and Kim...but mostly Paul)have decided not to allow Megan to have a pacifier. Paul heard it ruins their teeth. Kim said she's beginning to change her mind already. haha We'll see. I know babies really like to suck and don't need to eat everytime they do. :) Babies...such fun. She is sooooo sweet.
I've been listening to Rejoice radio when I remember to go there. It's nice.
Larry, it sound like Pandora is sort of like Yahoo Music that I get with Verizon. You choose who you like, singer and song, and what kind you don't like. The program plays songs according to your likes, and as you said, adds some it thinks you might like. I can't remember if I downloaded anything or not. The less I have on this computer the better.
Blessings, Y'all. :) Nita and boys
I just registered with Pandora and then put in Jim Brickman, and now am listening to his beautiful piano. :)
THOUGHTS OF A DONKEY
Moon dances light on the roofs
Streets echoing to my hooves
A weary Joseph leads me along
Pushing through the mingling throng
Mary sits lightly on my back
Her gentle hands caress my neck
Taut sore muscles soothed by them
As I carry her through Bethlehem
My ears are pricked to rising din
Paused now at door of crowded Inn
To take them in the keeper unable
The only offer a lonely stable
To me better than a palace fair
Within it walls my home is there
Water to drink and manger of hay
And a place to rest from weary day
A comfortable place I found to lie
Aroused from sleep to infant cry
And in the cradle of manger bed
A baby boy lay down his head
From my lips a soft breathed bray
As I gazed at child upon the hay
To crib side in awe I slowly came
Hearing Mary whisper low His name
Jesus; she murmured in tender love
A gift to the world from God above
Of mothers all; I am more blessed than them
This holy night in Bethlehem
Before I could hear what she said more
Swarthy shepherds entered stable door
Bowed in worship to tender one
Christ the King and Gods dear Son
His throne room the stable stall
One so great yet weak and small
Mighty God who became the least
Was carried by me a lowly beast
Another donkey He would sit its back
His gentle hands caress its neck
Perhaps my offspring; who's to know
Took Him to Jerusalem where He would go
Through palm waving jubilant crowd
Who greeted Him with hosannas loud
Only days later to change their cry
To one of hateful baying crucify
Never carried I more precious load
When on my back Mary rode
For as they searched for sheltered room
I carried Jesus also in her womb
Just a lowly donkey small
No one knows my name at all
But I was the one to carry them
That night to stable in Bethlehem

The weather is not too bad here Pat at the moment. A little chilly at times but pretty good for this time of year.
Hi everyone else!
Awesome poem Colin I have saved it as well as printed it.
Hi everyone from the balmy South. We are suppose to get up to close to 80 today. However, this morning they are saying that by the end of the week it will turn colder and we might even see a few snow flakes.
I have a meeting to attend this morning and then the rest of the day is clear. I need to go over the Christmas Cantata music a couple of times as haven't practiced in the last several days.
I learned yesterday that the college from which I graduated many years ago (Northwest Missouri State University) is going to play for the national championship in Division II of college football. The game will be on ESPN on Saturday during the time I will be at the church for the dress rehearsal for the Christmas Cantata on Sunday evening. My friend has offered to Tivo it for me and put it on a DVD, which I thought was very nice.
Nita, glad you are enjoying the Pandora. I have Jim Brinkman in my list of artists on one of the Pandora stations I set up.
Marilyn, it sounds like you are going to keep the doctor's busy.
Janet, it sounds like you went through quite an ordeal but that better vision is on the way. I assume the surgery is to remove the cataracts from your eyes. I think my wife will be facing that fairly soon.
Pat, I did a little quick checking on the Pandora and found in their help section the following: "Our music license requires our listeners to be United States residents, which is why we require your US zip code during registration. We are working as fast we can to make Pandora available internationally." I think this explains why you couldn't register but I expect you could put in an individual artist and be able to play music as a guest but not be able to create your own stations, which is remembered. It doesn't download any software permanently on your computer. Thanks for the fine devotional for this week.
Colin, glad you got the Pandora to work for you. (It sounds like I am a cheerleader for the site but it is just one I have enjoyed very much.)
HELLO ALL
it is cold here 28 degrees is what the weather thing says. it rained last night froze and is now snowing :( i don't like that at all makes life too cold for me anyways i must be off so i can travel to work today and not have to be pressed for time HAVE A GOOD DAY
Sarah
Yes Larry; Pandora is very good. I will take more time to explore it but the music they brought up to go along with Jim Reeves has been very enjoyable. I looked up to see who else liked Jim Reeves and there were over 1000!
Hi Marilyn...thank you for your kind comment and you are very welcome to print the poem out. God bless
Good Morning - in Carol's voice. LOL
Tis snowing and we have another 5 or more inches of snow on top of the 4 we had - so we will stay put all day. Feel so sorry for those who have the ice storms and no power in the midwest.
Janet: Bless your heart. Today will be better. Yes, that church and the missionary school episode was the same deranged young man. He was asked to leave the missionary school about 4-5 years ago for some health problem & now I wonder if they had meant mental health. Two sisters were killed in the Springs church and the father injured. There is a memorial tomorrow for the two killed in Arvada (a northern suburb of Denver - we lived there years ago). Mental health - it is one of our largest problems in this country and we should be doing more for these people.
Welcome to jeradhill
Larrry: How sweet is that? I mean, your friend giving you a copy of the game. Enjoy.
Maybe I should make the peanut brittle today. Come on over.
Carol
Good morning all y-all, I have to do the rest of my Christmas cards this evening. I had sent off a few with a short news letter need to print out more of the letters.
Janet are the going to be able to remove the cataracts? Was any of your eye problems caused from the Radial Keratotomy (Laser) you had years ago? How is your mother doing?
I sure do not envy any of you in the Midwest with all the freezing rain and snow. I do not like being cold and I don't like being too hot either that is why I dearly love where I live now. Yes it gets cold but not that bitter below zero cold. I don't have to be out in that cold either. Remember Janet's photos of last years freeze?
Nita Alfred Hitchcock used to host a program on TV eons ago on Sunday night. The show always started with his profle and him saying Good Ev-en- ning. I will never forget the sound of his voice.
Good Morning Afternoon Everyone!
Well, it WAS morning the first time I came here to post but then the phone rang...
Colin, thank you so much for that poem and I am keeping that in my Poems folder on my computer. Oh, do be able to write verse like that!!! Wow!
As you can see in my temperature "thingy" in my signature, the weather here is chilly.
Thanks for the information, Larry, on pandora.com Hopefully they will get things worked out so that others who are not USA citizens will be able to set up their own radio stations.
I'll be back.
Go out and take a photo, folks!

Silver Bells (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/christmas/silver-bells.mid)
(Click to hear music)
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks .
Dressed in holiday style
In the air
There's a feeling
of Christmas
Children laughing
People passing
Meeting smile after smile
and on ev'ry street corner you'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day
Strings of street lights
Even stop lights
Blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush
home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch
See the kids bunch
This is Santa's big scene
And above all this bustle
You'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, gear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day

G-g-g-good morning all y'all ... It's c-c-c-cold in my corner of the world too! At least not as bad as the midwest ... I'm thankful I'm not still living in Oklahoma!
I have read and enjoyed all the messages here for the past few daze. I'm praying for those in need and rejoicing with the others. (Nita and her newest grandbaby, for instance). I have said this before, but will repeat the fact that I have dial-up, so usually just forego anything that requires several minutes of connecting to stuff on the internet. That said, I would very much like for you to check out this one. Watch the video and listen to the song and enjoy!

My neighbors are leaving in their motorhome this weekend ... Going to Arizona where it's warm! They plan on being gone for 3 months so gave me an early Christmas gift yesterday --- a log carrier! I love it!! Now, when I go out for wood I don't have to make so many trips with only a couple pieces. So .... I need to get out there and bring in more wood for my li'l ol' stove ......
Then it will be back to my corner.................. See yah!

Got my car back but it isn't fixed. I am thinking this is deja vu. Already told ya!!
We went to Photo Guild last evening. A pitch-in dinner and two slide shows. One was on places in Utah this past fall. 200 photos. Wonderful, lovely, stop-breathing, WOW pictures! God's eye candy!! The other slide show was the members of the guild send or gave pictures to Michelle and she made a 210 picture slide show of all pictures from the members. They club will use the slide show as a project....$5 for a DVD. I want one but I am probably the only member that doesn't have a DVD player yet!!
Today I went shopping. I exchange my Quick Start for a more amperage quick start. I got some gift certificates, some Christmas cards, a Christmas top to wear, and my telephone blocked so I won't get text messages. Seems that someone in the west got Verizon cell phone numbers from the midwest and are sending SPAM text messages. I have to pay for each text message I get so now all text messages are blocked! Tony will just have to call me!
Now I have some gifts to wrap.
A foggy day in Indiana today. Worse when I came home. Below is a photo out my front window at 1:30pm...a half an hour ago.^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+

Hi Etta Sue! Yup, that's snow all right. 8)
Colin, your poem was wonderful!
And Jane....that site you linked to is too. I saved it to send on. The First Christmas Gift is really what it's all about.
Dog bathing day here. I just finished Ty, towel dried him, cut his hair some, and now he's sleeping. So is Rocko. I think his "nap" is just in case he is next. "Let sleeping dogs lie"...haha He's watching me pretty closely while he naps.
I just wanted to check in and see what everyone was up to. See ya later. Nita
Thank you Nita. Etta Sue that is a beautiful view out of your window. Take care everyone.
What a nice site, Jane. You should put that in Manna for the Soul in the Religion folder on SeniorNet. I'd so appreciate it if you would.
Nice view, Etta Sue. Our snow is melting away. It's raining here.
But we still have lots.
I just noticed a post by Oldiesmann on our site that you all should listen to.
It's lovely...
There's a link at the bottom to listen.

Please post so he'll know you saw it?
Thanks!
Are you enjoying the Christmas music folks?

The First Noel (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/christmas/noel.mid)
(Click to hear music)
There were shepherds living out in the fields nearby,
keeping watch over their flocks at night.
An angel of the Lord appeared to them,
and the glory of the Lord shone around them,
and they were terrified.
Luke 2:8-9
Words & Music: Traditional English carol, possibly dating from as early as the 13th Century
The first Noel the angel did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;
In fields where they lay tending their sheep,
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
Refrain
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,
Born is the King of Israel.
They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the east, beyond them far;
And to the earth it gave great light,
And so it continued both day and night.
Refrain
And by the light of that same star
Three Wise Men came from country far;
To seek for a King was their intent,
And to follow the star wherever it went.
Refrain
This star drew nigh to the northwest,
Over Bethlehem it took its rest;
And there it did both stop and stay,
Right over the place where Jesus lay.
Refrain
Then did they know assuredly
Within that house the King did lie;
One entered it them for to see,
And found the Babe in poverty.
Refrain
Then entered in those Wise Men three,
Full reverently upon the knee,
And offered there, in His presence,
Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.
Refrain
Between an ox stall and an ass,
This Child truly there He was;
For want of clothing they did Him lay
All in a manger, among the hay.
Refrain
Then let us all with one accord
Sing praises to our heavenly Lord;
That hath made heaven and earth of naught,
And with His blood mankind hath bought.
Refrain
If we in our time shall do well,
We shall be free from death and hell;
For God hath prepared for us all
A resting place in general.
Refrain

I have enjoyed reading all of the greetings.
I am still going to the chiropractor for my back problem I do feel that there is a slight change. As for today we are sure getting a mix of weather, rain snow sleet slippery roads etc etc and this evening when the temp. drops we are to get lots of snow 4 cm I think.
Tomorrow a large group of present and past co-workers are meeting for breakfast in a little rest. north of here so I hope the weather is settled by then.
Ruth
Good evening! I've been busy today, just now getting in here.
Yes, to those who asked, I will be having the cataract removed from my left eye on Friday. Marilyn, the RK surgery was not the lazer--that was back when they made the radial cuts in the cornea. Now they know they should never have done that, but too late for those of us who had it! Had I had any idea the lasik surgery would be available in another year, I would never have had RK. But that's water under the bridge, now we just have to deal with it. The right eye will be done on January 4. I think I said Dec. 28, but that isn't right.
We went to see Abby's Christmas play this afternoon. She was a cute reindeer--Cupid--in tan sweatshirt and sweatpants with antlers, and had several lines. And on Saturday she is a snowflake in The Nutcracker. Busy girl!
Tonight was the Care Home Christmas dinner, and Darrel and I went to be with Mom and Beth. Mom seems to be doing quite a lot better now, so I'm thankful for that. I had to feed Beth part of her meal, her poor hands just won't work much any more. :'(
I will check out those links tomorrow. My eyes are getting heavy lidded now. Soon I will be  ....I hope, anyway!
Hmmmm........everybody must be either sleeping in or busy doing "stuff" this morning!
I just remembered that I forgot! Forgot to tell Colin how much I love his new poem about the donkey--unique point of view! Thanks for sharing it, Colin.
Now I'm going to wrap gifts and see where we stand on that score.
Later!

Yesterday in that picture, the snow was almost gone. The day before the ground was covered. Today it will be all gone. Suppose to get to 42°. Now to get another snow December 24, warm up December 25 and the snow be gone December 26 and the temperatures rise each day until around 70° and stay there. I can dream, can't I?
Today is Red Hats day. First we were meeting. Then we weren't. Then it was today. Then next Wednesday. Then we were going out to eat. Then we were eating at Harriets. We were to purchase three $2-$3 gifts. So now we are meeting at Harriets at 10:30am. Still don't know where we are eating. But afterwards we will meet at Harriets to exchange gifts! + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Good Morning; I went to bed early last night 8PM, sometimes I go to bed at 7:30. Nothing is new here. No frost on the ground this morning I guess that is new.
Going to Tai Chi in a little bit then on to work. I think I am about done with the shopping I am not doing much this year. one each for Gilbert, Sarah and the kids. After being off work there for awhile and not working enough, I have to pay my bills first and put back in savings what I spent on bills before buying gifts.
Hope y-all have a great day.
Hi everyone. Just stopped by to read the postings since yesterday. I am pressed for time today as was gone all morning to Bible study and have choir tonight. I am having to rebuild the website for our user group and keep running into difficulties. I had a beautiful site developed and the files corrupted someway and I lost a lot of hours of work. I tried again and when I got to the same point I had the same result so am building it a different way. I also have some webwork to do on the church website so am busier than I really want to be. Maybe I will have more time to post tomorrow. It is very warm here again today.
Good evening all,
It has been tough with everything. What is it about people who claim to be Christian, claim to be concerned about you and then don't "follow" up on their offers? Don't know, there is too much of it lately.
Saw the doc yesterday, see the orthopaedic surgeon next, unofficially officially the knee has to be replaced, no questions. If it helps the pain, then the sooner the better. On the other hand, arranging for Michael to be taken care of on "my" shifts and get my parents taken care of too...well...let's just say it will be interesting.
Despite everything, writing about God helps immensely. He is so wonderful and if we let Him, holds us close. Well tis the season, so here is my offering. God bless one and all and know I am praying for you all.
OUR SAVIOUR WAS BORN
Our Saviour was born
Into a slumbering world
His star shone in the heavens
A sign of God's love unfurled
This sleeping babe
In manger lowly lay
The world did not yet know
He had come to show the way
Angels appeared to shepherds
As in the fields they watched their sheep
Glad tidings was their greetings
Telling where our Saviour did sleep
The shepherds left their flocks
They went to see their shepherd born
For the Lamb of God, His own dear Son
Was born that Christmas morn
Jesus, Son of God, Emmanuel
Saviour, Lamb of God, mighty counselor
King of kings and Lord of lords
He is all these and many more
So come to see this new born babe
God's precious gift to us
And in return give Him your heart
The Saviour of us all, Jesus
Jeannine Faith
Jeannine, that is so beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you, so much, Jeannine, for sharing your thoughts and talent with us. I love the poem and I understand what you are saying (reading between the lines) and feel as you do about unkept promises and offers of help. All I can offer you is my prayers, and you've had them all along. It is so good that you have this outlet (your poetry) for your emotions and prayers. Our Father understands and He knows and He cares .... I'm glad you can just let Him hold you close during the tough times.
Colin, I love your poem from the donkey's point of view ... I also copied it for future reference. :)
I had written all this, and more, earlier but when I hit the "post" button my computer had a nervous breakdown! :-\
Gotta go now before something drastic happens .....
Morning all. The washing machine is going and we will take off later in the day to visit & overnight with son & family. Snowfall again tonight so we don't want to drive back in the dark - not on that crazy highway - and, it does close much too often.
Jeannine: Sorry about the friends who say they want to help. It is only a human trait and they just don't know what to offer to do at times - the next time anyone says that, tell them what you really need & perhaps it will stick in their minds. My prayer to you!
Jane: LOL on your 'puter nervous breakdown.
Larry: Don't these 'puters give you fits too?
Had a note from a cousin in Seattle and her adopted granddaughter who ran away has now returned and the Sheriff is involved - that is good news because the child is too wild for the family and a grandparent shouldn't have to have that stress. I don't know all the particulars but it is great that someone is setting rules.
Here, a son still needs a job and now it is getting late in the do-nothing at the office time of the year - I mean, all work seems to stop in some departments and no one can make a decision on Monday or Friday. It looks like a decision cannot be made until next year & probably is budget indecision but it sure is hard on the person trying to get a job.
We had a wonderful Spirituality meeting last night and that is timed for once per month now as the retired pastor needs time to prepare. Don and I won't say this to anyone else but we get so much more out of this than some of the sermons. Wish that we could meet on this much more often.
:coffee: Time for coffee. Carol
Hi everyone. Another beautiful morning here in Georgia. I just noticed the temp at the bank was 61 degrees so we have another day of nice weather.
Jeannine, so sorry that things are so tough for you. It is hard to understand why a person makes a commitment and then doesn't follow through. It is wonderful that you have a strong faith to keep you going.
Carol, hope you have a visit with your family. You are wise to stay off the roads at night. I don't like to be out after dark and try to limit that to the trip to the church for choir practice. Hope something comes along for your son. We spoke with our son yesterday and he said he had started a new job working in a bowling alley. At least it is a job, something he hasn't had for a long time.
Jane, I think we all understand the frustration of preparing something to post and having it disappear.
Need to get busy on the website that I am working on. This afternoon I have to go down to Atlanta to pick up our daughter for the weekend. We will take her back to her apartment on Monday morning.
Good Morning from the cold California coast. There is ice on my porch and the grass is frozen. Not much is new here, just the same old going to work and coming home, going to bed and getting up. Same thing every day.
On Saturday I will do my laundry and clean my house, pay my bills on line, maybe go to the Co-op. I definitely will be walking the dogs every day if it doesn't rain. Life is so boring right now,.

Good morning from rainy Indiana. Dark and gloomy.
Yesterday was Red Hats day. We didn't know where we were going but we ended up in Indy at Cheeseburger Paradise. The decor was palm trees, starfish and ocean scenes. Real neat place. It felt warm in there except when someone opened the door and immediately you were back in Indiana. I ordered 6 mini-cheeseburgers and sweet potato chips. Both were wonderful. The mini-burgers were about the size of dinner rolls only round and the burger about the size of a silver dollar. Tomato, pickle and onion was on each burger. I brought some home so I had two meals out of it. The chips were great.
Then we went to the Queen's home and exchanged gifts by playing a game. I ended up with some Red Hat items and two kinds of lotions. I really don't care for lotions but the older I get, the dryer my skin is getting so I may have to use lotions anyway.
Today is 60 Chix at IHOP. Then I need to stop at Applebee's and get a gift certificate for Barb and Kaye Don from Ivalou and I.
Then this evening I am to go to one of the ladies that was in my Small Group Bible Study. Just the women. We are having snacks...taking my Christmas Mice...and we are to do facials. Sounds like fun!
That's it for Indiana! Everyone have a God Blessed Day! From Indiana prayers are prayed for you and praises are shouted for the world to hear...all in Jesus Christ's name!

Marilyn, sometimes "boring" is a good thing. ;) The older I get, the more I appreciate my alone time and the knowledge that I have no agenda!
Carol and Larry, my 'puter totally went bonkers! I had to finally shut it down and wait a while before rebooting. In the meantime, the phone rang so that took a while before I could get back here! :)
I'm praying everyone has a truly blessed and God-filled day. Stay warm and dry and safe as you travel the winter roads. I'll be back. <3
I sure hope the weather is "boring" here tomorrow! I'm supposed to be at the surgery center in the morning at 8:00, and do not want to drive or ride on ice! Up around Salina, where my youngest lives, they had the big ice storm, are out of power, may not get it back for 10 days!! If they don't have power by the 21st, they won't get to come for Christmas, as they have to stay there and keep the generator running, to keep the pipes from freezing. :( We were so looking forward to having them home for Christmas. But maybe they will still get to come.
The Democrats are yammering on in their Iowa debate. I'm getting sick of politics, and it's still almost a year until election time. :P
I have most of the gifts I have wrapped, but don't have them all, that's the problem. Boys in their teens and 20s are hard to buy gifts for---everything they want costs a fortune!
See you later!
Thank you all who commented on my poem. Pat..thank you for all the Christmas music. God bless all.
Colin & Jeannie: Good poems and you both have the kind of talent I do not have.
Jeannie: Many times I felt alone but I had the comfort of knowing that God was always there for me.
We have had more snow today and more is on the way, my Christmas errands are not finished yet but I will have to make sure that I have a list on hand and be ready to go when the weather is clear. More and more I am a fair weather driver.
Have some puter errands to get done so will scoot. Ruth
For some winter themed amusement go to this site and design your own snowflake
http://www.popularfront.com/snowdays/index.html?id=5215636
Smokey, that's a neat site. I made my snowflake. :)
I can't sleep, so here I am. Hi Jeanine you are probably up and so is Colin. Jeannine I know just how you feel about people who say they are going to do something and then don't do it. That has happened to me so many times. It is especially hard when you really need the help because it is something that you just can't do by yourself or you need someone to take over for you like in your present situation, I wish I was in a place where I could come and help you care for Michael.
I was in pain earlier and took a pain pill and I should have known better than than to take one, they always keep me awake.
My afternoon may soon be over, They may be moving into a retirement apartment where a care is provided to them. I may know more in the next few days. I promised to make biscuits and gravy for the before they move so that is what's for supper tonight.
My phone not working right I can hear the person on the other end but they can't hear me so I ordered a new phone from Amazon. That's what I get for buying a cheap phone.
I guess I will go back to bed and try to sleep. 5 am comes awfully early I just might skip Curves if Will doesn't call me to go. She doesn't usually go on Friday.

Good afternoon. It has been a busy morning for me but what a wonderful morning. When the sun shines, it really makes one feel better, I think. Even my solar heat is running right now...free heat!!
My house smells like heaven....Green Tomato Pie!!
Yesterday was my lunch with the girls in my class. There were only 5 of us but I like that because you get to visit more. Then last evening I went to one of our old Small Groups homes for snacks and a facial. I didn't realize that Dana sold Mary Kay and I am allergic to Mary Kay!! So I still did the facial and then took it all off. I looked good but I can tell this morning that I am redder than normal. So I didn't buy anything.
Tonight I am going with Tony and Charlene somewhere to eat and hopefully they will come in when we get back and visit for awhile. I love visiting with them and that seems sparse lately!! And the Green Tomato Pie is for Tony!!(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)

Thank you all for your kind comments, it's nice to know some people really do care, I guess we just need to hear it sometimes.
Ruth, we all have our talents given by God, I'm just glad I can do a little something to give back to Him and try to get His good news out.
Thank you Marilyn, Larry, Nita, Jane and Carol, hope I didn't leave anyone out :-[ if I did I'm sorry.
:-[Colin, I am remiss, your poem is lovely, brill and I love it! <3 Forgive me for not commenting sooner, losing what's left of my "marbles" I am. :uglystupid: lol.
To everyone else who comes today, I hope you have a God filled and blessed day/afternoon/evening. Take care and know I am praying for you all.
Definitely still Trusting_In_Him!
><>Jeannine
Hi Jeannine I be remiss too.Your poem is lovely too and thank you for your kind remark.
We had a so-so drive through the snow this morning. We raced down to Denver leaving a full coupla hours before Don said we were going & I felt frazzled & didn't get things finished around here befor leaving. Had to go see a car. We drove it - liked it - price was too much - left there & finally had our breakfast at 2 P.M. when we picked up a son. Then, 3:30 on the other side of town, went to jazz band practice - then went to the house & had a very quick dinner - then choir concert. This child is in everything. We could have gone to tennis too but it is just too much sometimes.
Foggy and snowing. We had driven the little car that needs new tires & wouldn't you know that it would snow hard. We made it regardless of the awful people on their phones, tailgating and so forth - they should give IQ tests to these drivers. :-\
Just IM'ing with daughter. Nice to catch up with her some way at least.
Colin: Hello to you. Do people decorate their homes at Christmas in your area? Just wondering. We only have two little shrubs outside with lights as it isn't good to climb the ladder just for putting up lights anymore.
Jeannine: Love your bible verse at the bottom of your post.
Janet: Do hope that the weather improves for so many are having such hardship right now. We don't have the ice too much in our area although some streets could be plowed better.
Larry: These little trips sure can be tiring but oh, the joy!
Carol
I have been asked to post something for mom, she actually asked me to post something a few days ago but we are both running like crazy at the moment so I totally forgot until she called this evening to say goodnight.
Mom's computer still isn't acting right, she needs a memory upgrade, probably a new hard drive and a faster processor. We will work on one thing at a time, but it's going to take some time to get it all done for her.
My grandmother is in hospital at the moment, she went in yesterday. I don't know all the details but as far as I could tell when I went to visit her this afternoon, she is in good spirits and the nurse says she is doing well. Please be praying for her.
I will also be posting something in the recipes section for mom, so you might want to check that out as well.
God bless,
Heather
<3HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLIN! <3
:'( Gosh I am getting old but thank you very much Jeannine!
Hello Carol....yes we do decorate here...some more than others! Most people decorate the living room and a few decorate outside and some overdo it and then it looks a real plaster as we would say! Do you know....Ballymena was the first town in the British Isles that was decorated for Christmas....1st Novemeber! Hope all is going well or you.
Hi all!

Hi eveyone. I have been very busy the last couple of days and I didn't get to read postings yesterday so am a bit behind.
Yesterday was our computer learning center volunteer meeting and then the senior center gave us a lovely Christmas party. They had it catered by Longhorn Steakhouse and the meal was delicious with a big, thick juicy steak, baked potato, salad, roll and cake to finish the meal. They had the center decorated in a very festive mood and a DJ was there to play Christmas music. It was just delightful. Then I had a meeting to attend last evening where I was responsible for the program.
In just a few minutes I will leave for the church for the dress rehearsal of our Christmas music program tomorrow night. We are will be there from 11 am until 1 pm today. Then I will come home and watch the remainder of the national championship game that my college in participating in on ESPN2 . This is Division II college football. I will miss the first half but get to see the end of the game. They lost in the championship last year so hopefully this will be their year.
Guess I better to short today. I am hoping next week I won't have such a busy schedule as this week. I will take some of that quiet time with no demands. It has turned colder here today and we are suppose to have some rain. It is a part of the storm system that is dumping snow on Kansas and across the midwest and that will bring the bad storm to the East coast.
Thank you Marilyn! <3

Happy Birthday, Colin!!! I didn't realize you were a December baby!
Well, Indiana is in the middle of a Winter Storm Warning! Predicted to have 2-12 inches of the thick, white rain! You would think with all the technical technology they could do better than 2-12" of snow! I remembered this morning that I didn't go anywhere yesterday so needed to start my car today to keep the battery charged up. So I went to the Dollar General...was there before they opened. So now I do have milk, OJ and some snacks.
So sad to see the photos of Oklahoma and the ice storm and now snow on top of that. We are just praying that the electric stays on here. I have nothing if the electric goes out! No heat. No water. No computer! No TV!
Last evening Tony, Charlene and I went to Chili's for our Christmas outing. Then they came in and we visited for awhile. Both of them were up late the night before so they left around 9:30pm. Tony was really happy with his Green Tomato Pie! ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

Hi, kids! I will try to post a few lines, even though I can barely see. My cataract removal and lens implant went very well yesterday, now I am just waiting for the vision in my left eye to clear. Of course my glasses don't work well at all now, but I am so looking forward to having better vision.
I have been doing some framing, and as soon as the one in the vise is ready, I will assemble it, and then we will go to Abby's house for the rest of the day and evening, and watch her dance in The Nutcracker tonight. Mark's friend Meme is there, and we look forward to meeting her.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COLIN!! I printed out copies of the poem you wrote to go with my painting of "Learning the Carpenter's Trade" and am enclosing them with the Christmas cards I got using that painting. Thanks again!!
Must go, straining my eyes and getting a bit of a headache trying to do this. Blessings to you all.
Thank You Etta Sue for your birthday greetings. I am indeed a December baby! Take care. <3
Hi Janet...thank you for your Happy Birthday and it is so nice you are using my poem. God bless. <3
December birthdays are nice as you get twice the presents - Don's B-day is Dec. 8th. and we always get together with the children plus it seems like he celebrates most of December.
Janet: It will be a little difficult for you until you have the 2n.d eye operated on - and I remember Don having to wait an entire year for that procedure. I had about 3 months and it was maddening to say the least.
We called niece in Fort Worth. She & her husband said that her sister could live with them until she found a job and this has dragged on for months so it isn't easy for any of them.
Crocheting hot pads just to have on hand for little gifts and I made some fudge sauce. Don was complaining that he didn't even get to scrape the pan I had it in the dishwater so fast.
We have a gathering tomorrow afternoon at one of our fellow volunteer's house - she went to Texas with us last February. Lots of appointments this week & a mammogram as well. My cholesterol is now 159 - I haven't had pancakes or too many sweet things but chocolate remains my sinful food.
Carol
Hi everyone. I think winter has finally arrived here in Georgia as they say we have had the high for the day and it is about 35 degrees now. We did have some blessed rain yesterday and last evening but don't know how much as don't have a gauge outside. I am ready for church but it will be a couple of hours before we leave.
This evening is our Christmas cantata and we have a young man, who is a voice senior at Furman University and the grandson of a couple who sing in our church who will be doing the baritone solo. All the little ones will be doing their Christmas program before the cantata. Prior to the musical program we have a fellowship supper and they are fixing roast beef and the trimmings. Should be good.
Janet, glad that first surgery is past and know you are looking forward to better vision.
Etta Sue, hope you don't lose your power. A house really gets cold quickly when there is no heat. Down here we fear ice storms rather than snow.
Colin, happy birthday. I think I forgot to do that yesterday.
Carol, I understand how Don feels about not getting to "lick the pan". I always look forward to angel food cake as I usually got and get to eat the crusty part on top. Also to clean out the pan when Pat makes fudge. Yum.
No problem Larry and thank you very much!
Hi all!
Good Morning I am out of here to church in just a few minutes, I have to go early to make the coffee for the Adult Sunday School, there are only abut 6-10 in the class on a good day. I seems that people dislike to get up early to get to Sunday school. When I spoke to the pastor about it he said that Sunday Schools are on the way out and that most churches are only hold regular service and Evening Bible Study during the week. Some aren't even having Sunday night service. We have Prayer meeting at 5 on Sunday instead of an evening service.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FCP%2520Christmas%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ESanta.gif&hash=7eb2d74a7a670a993f87104b70f3fe128ffdc98a)
Well, the weather man was right. The roads weren't really bad at all all day yesterday. But the 11 o'clock news was telling us that more snow after midnight and winds up to 40mph!!! So I didn't even set the alarm to go to church. I was up at 4am and yes, more snow. I was up at 6:30am and yes, strong winds...almost a white out!! Now I have drifts as high as my bottle gas tank but thankfully, my drive is fairly clear all except right in front of the garage door. All the windows in my house are plastered with ice or snow...all sides!! But, thank God, I am warm and toasty! I can barely get my side door open...about 8 inches of snow, then ice, then snow out there. My front door is frozen shut!
But my g-nephew called and said he would be plowing us out this afternoon or evening. That's good to know if we need out, we can get out. Ivalou has the sleep clinic tomorrow night...she needs to go for that!
Also, Bunnie, on SeniorNet found us a new toy!! Here's my Christmas Card (http://host-d.oddcast.com/php/start_christmasmessage/door=232&cl=61&AID=0?id=25027887)
to you!! a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m.

I just put three pictures in The Gallery that I sure would appreciate you viewing and leaving a little comment! ::)
Colin: Happy Birthday
Etta Sue: I copied your animations to send to out Aunt / she looks forward to the e-mails . Etta Sue I will check the gallery as well.
Friday was our daughters birthday and last evening we joined Sue and her friend for dinner at a Greek Rest. A lovely meal with some in a doggy bag to bring home. The snow storm started here last evening and wow it is doing an even greater job today, we are to get many inches with all the wind sleet etc. The perfect kind of day to stay off the roads.
Hello to every one.
Ruth
Etta Sue, I looked and commented. The big snows of Kansas missed our corner, and we are just as happy about that. After Christmas, it can snow all it wants! ;)
We enjoyed meeting Mark's friend Meme. Poor little thing is ONLY 6'9" tall! :o Seems odd to see someone tower over Mark--he is 6'3" himself! She seems like a sweet girl, too.
Abby was lovely as a dancing snowflake in the Nutcracker. Hard to believe how grown-up she is getting.
Etta Sue, Abby and I made Christmas mice yesterday afternoon. Thanks again for the photo! I am going to make white Christmas mice this week, using vanilla almond bark and dipping the Hershey's kisses, too. With the red eyes, I think they should be real cute.
We had a Christmas program at church this morning. Whoever wanted to sang, played instruments, read Scriptures, etc. It was very enjoyable. Tonight the youth and the children will present their program they have been working on for the past several weeks.
Carol, thanks for the encouragement. I's glad I don't have to wait so long for the second eye surgery! Right now, I see much better out of the one that hasn't been fixed. :(
Talk to you later!
Thank you Ruth
Etta Sue: We are about to head out for an open house at our friend's home - her name is Eva Sue and she has a real southern drawl....Thanks for the card, I want to get Don in here so we can record a Christmas message.
Janet: It does take time for some people it takes longer to heal.
We will fix this problem - I don't know if I told you but about a week & a few days ago, we had a call from Chase bank who handles the fraud division and someone had our number & had bought gas in Georgia. (Think I did mention this) So, the card was invalidated at about the same time we have switched supplement insurance plan to save money - so, my brand new prescription wasn't sent. Monday, we will sit on the phone or whatever it takes to get this settled. Every time a thief takes something the work just snowballs for the person who is the victim and it is just so annoying. What is astonishing to me is the number of people out and around who are thieves and think nothing of it - cheating on tests, not telling the truth and the list goes on - no accountability. Please forgive my crankiness.
That is all - we watched Bret Favre pass Marino's total yardage record - well, I could cheer for Green Bay if they go to the Super Bowl - it isn't my first and second choice.
It looks like our quilt group needs to get busy again as the Texas victims of hurricane Rita still need more quilts. They are going when we will be in Arizona for two weeks so this time doesn't work out for us.
Marilyn: Our church does have a Sat night sermon and many Wed night sermons over Lent and before Christmas. The SS is between services and that is in a packed room off the kitchen. We can sip beverages and eat cookies while listening to the chat. We would like a Sun night service because we often see our children or the grands in their activities and it would be nice to come back and have the evening service. If we are in the montains, we can go to two different churches but it isn't easy to get to them when the morning temps are below zero as they are right now.
Carol
I want to thank everyone for the comments on my winter Indiana pictures. Really nice to see comments. Makes one feel their pictures are appreciated and makes you feel like taking more pictures and posting them. Thanks to one and all!!!!
Janet ~ I'll bet Kitty hasn't thought of making white mice. They would be cute, too. Let me know what you held onto to dip the Hershey kiss.
Now Kitty is making Christmas Wreaths with corn flakes, marshmallows, corn syrup, green food coloring. But she can't find red hots anywhere so is going to use pieces of cherries.
Carol ~ Did you make your message? I hadn't used my mic for a long time. Didn't even know if it still worked!
It has gotten very cold since the sun went down. My drive is still not plowed out and my deck still has lots of snow on it. But according to the traffic on SR32 that I can see from my front window, I wouldn't be going anywhere even if I could. Traffic is very slow so that means it is very slick.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FCP%2520Christmas%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ESantaSocks.gif&hash=c0c055c2e9bac253f44e4186cb1935764308ee89)
Gosh, no one has been here since last evening!! Hey, wake up, West Coast, UK and all!!
My drive didn't get plowed out yesterday so this morning I shoveled a path on my deck. I took my keys and got to the garage. My car started just fine. I backed out and then 'plowed' through my drive. I drove to Ivalou's and got hers open. Then to Kaye Don's. Then back home and got my trash. Then to Ivalou's and got her trash and took both to Kaye Don's. I put a letter in the mailbox and Ivalou had two days of papers in hers so took the papers to her. Then back home. Now I am home but if I want to get out I can. ::)
Ivalou has her Sleep Clinic tonight with the CPAP so she needs to get out. Now she can.
I called my g-nephew to tell him he wasn't needed. My phone is full of static. I called Ivalou. Hers is static, too. So called the phone company. Weird that I still have internet through the phone lines.
But I will say that everything is so pristine and pure looking out. It hasn't started melting so still pretty and white....not yucky brown!
Hope everyone wakes up and comes to CP soon!! >^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<

Etta Sue, that graphic is so cute! Poor Santa. And I hadn't even thought about what I will hold onto while dipping the Kisses! Hmmmm.... ???
I went to my eye doctor for the check. It feels/looks as if I have a strobe light behind my left eye. Vision still very blurry. So I'm not doing any reading except a little bit on here.
See you later!
Hi everyone. I spent all morning taking our daughter back to her apartment. It is always a task to get her things back into her apartment. She lives in a hi-rise apartment but hers is on the 1st floor and the apartments are up about 4 steps. While it is convenient not to have to deal with an elevator in just coming and going, it is an impediment in being able to use the grocery type cart they have available to bring things from the back entrance to the steps as have to unload and then carry everything down the long hallway. She has a little wheeled cart that she gets and we make several trips to avoid having to carry the items. Her back and shoulder is continuing to make her very miserable. She has a strained 2nd and 5th lumar plus something has happened to her shoulder.
Our Christmas program a church last night went extremely well. The fellowship dinner was well attended. Then the children's music groups all did a nice job. The cutest part was the pre-schoolers who sang one song and then played with using little various colored handbells. The director had cards for each chord with the colors of the bells that were to play for that one measure as they accompanied a recording. Some of the children put a lot of vigor into the ringing. They were very cute. Our Cantata was beautiful and went very well.
I am looking forward to a quiet week. Have something tomorrow morning for an hour or so and choir on Wednesday and that is about it. I finished wrapping most of the presents this morning. Pat will do some cooking and candy/cookie making and then we will be ready for Christmas day.
Etta Sue, that sounds like quite a storm up your way. Glad you didn't lose power during the storm or your Internet. When we got home from church last night we had no electricity and didn't until about 9:30. It had been off for over 2 hours and have no idea why as there was no storm in this area.
Janet, glad you saw your eye doctor and do hope that your vision returns quickly. I have a cousin, who was my wife's roommate in college, who is about 6'9" so so. Does your grandson's friend play basketball for her school?
Carol, your comments on the thief of the credit card information certainly is true in that the person has so many things to attend to. It seems there are always a few details that one forgets about until it is a problem such as the insurance payment being affected.
Hi Ruth. those "doggy bags" are nice.
Maryilyn, it is nice of you to be the coffee maker for the Sunday School class.
I am finally here. I didn't have to go to work this afternoon as they had some business to attend to in Eureka. I had telephone problems since Friday. On my cordless phone I could hear others but they could not hear me.
I plugged in my corded phone and the key pad would not work so I couldn't call out. I ordered a new cordless set form Amazon and it was delivered today so no I have a phone again What a pain it was to have to return calls using my cell phone. I put a message on my answering machine stating that there was no phone connected to the machine so please leave a message or call my cell number. I purposely did not put my cell number on the answering machine, because there are those that I do not want to have my cell number. No one left messages so that was a disaster too.
Etta Sue I am so happy that it doesn't snow where I live. It has in the past a few times. I remember when Gilbert was in college and he called me and told me there was snow on the grass in front of the dorm complex and on the beach.
This is a busy week for me. Tonight is the Christmas Party at Curves from 6-7. tomorrow night is the Christmas party for my Chocolate business. Wednesday between jobs I see the Orthopaedic Surgeon, Thursday between jobs I have to pick up my Senior Brown Bag and food box, and Saturday both dogs to the groomer for baths.
I think someone forgot to change to a new week.
Time to lock the door, folks! Just in the door and couldn't get in here earlier or last evening.
