Morning Devotional...
Jesus and Ten Lepers
Luke 17:11-19 NLT
As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria. As he entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance, crying out, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!"
He looked at them and said, "Go show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.
One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, "Praise God!" He fell to the ground at Jesus' feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan.
Jesus asked, "Didn't I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?" And Jesus said to the man, "Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you."
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fhome.earthlink.net%2F%7Eettasue9842%2Fsitebuildercontent%2Fsitebuilderpictures%2Fstarblinking.gif&hash=d53900a37baea9ad7e55de7768716cba8c77fe07)For what are you thankful to God?
Jesus healed all ten lepers, but only one returned to thank him. It is possible to receive God's great gifts with an ungrateful spirit--nine of the ten men did so. Only the thankful man, however, learned that his faith had played a role in his healing: and only grateful Christians grow in understanding God's grace.
God does not demand that we thank him, but he is pleased when we do so. And he uses our responsiveness to teach us more about himself.

Another gloomy day in Indiana. Rain.....rain.....rain....bor-ring! But God gives us rainy days so we will appreciate the sunshine when it comes!!
Nothing much new except I took a nap and watched TV and talked to Tony, my son, on the telephone. Yeah, a great day! >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^<

Hey there, all y'all...... ;D :hello: Looks like I get to be firstest here today ... after Etta Sue, that is.
Since a couple of y'all (Janet and Nita) have asked for me to post an article I've written, I have done that ... In Manna ... Y'all can read it here: [http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=5886.0 (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=5886.0)
I sure would like to remember how to make that a "clickable" but so far ...... :uglystupid:
Hi everyone from a cold grey wet rainy day from N.Ireland. Etta Sue....you are not the only one who gets the rain...it has been raining here for nearly three months non stop! Lovely devotional today...we have plenty to thank the Lord for and it is always polite to say thank you. Hope you are well and do take care of yourself.
Hi Jane, you are the second firstest and I am the thirdist firistist...I think! Read your very interesting story and left you a little comment.
Will be back later...see you all
NINE
Where are the nine; the Lord he said
Just one from ten has returned instead
To give me thanks and glorify my name
But nine went on to their shame
I passed through Samaria and Galilee
Ten lepers came and searched out me
Have mercy on us they called from afar
For we know good Master a healer you are
Go show yourselves to the priests I commanded
Just a simple thing of them I demanded
Now one has returned cured and fine
But where are the other ungrateful nine
This one is a stranger and not of my race
But he has found in me a resting place
Health for his body and redemption for his soul
For his faith in me has made him whole
Where are the nine of my native land
Who should have come to shake my hand
They could have showed their thanks in a warm embrace
But none of that nine have showed their face
And do they not think how I may feel
When I took time to cure and heal
That I must take this pain and hurt
When they treat me just as dirt
How many people to this very day
Would return to me and simply say
Thank you Lord for what you have done
We are grateful to you God's only Son
And one who comes I will always greet
From any ten who will with me meet
And when I know that they are fine
I shall always ask for the other nine
Colin Moffett
When I read Etta Sues devotional I remembered I had written a poem in a similiar vein and thought I would just post it here in support of her.
Still raining! My car is in the garage because of leaking coolant which is coming into the inside of the car. Not exactly a brilliant start to my week but then things could always be worse! Like on Saturday...I went to a timber yoard to get some planks of wood. The assistant asked...what size..and I replied 4 by 2 please and then he asked ...how long do you need them. Well..I said...I am building a shed and would like to keep them if possible! :uglystupid:
I was coming back home and called into the doctor. I said...doctor I need some more of those sleeping pills for my wife Marlene. Has she run out of them...he asked. No...I said...she has woken up! ^-^
Ok Ok..I do my best! Take care...Colin
:)Etta Sue, that is what my preacher preached on yesterday! The ten lepers and which one was thankful. Must be I needed to hear (see) that again! Thank you all for the work you do on here.
Not much going on in my neck of the woods. School starts back tomorrow,(Oh Joy!)
The question I asked last week was more for Terry than for me, I'm still hanging on to God, I know He will come through for us even when we think we can't hang on anymore. Thanks for all the replies.
Later,
Samantha :)
As most of you know, I am a member of SeniorNet also. Today Oscar of Florida posted this link.

If you can at all, I would like you to visit this site. It is pictures of Nebraska during the ice storm that Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska endured in December. There are some fantastic pictures there. Think of Carol and Janet as you view them.
Thank you!
Good morning all,
Hi Etta Sue! This week's devotional makes ya stop and think for sure!
Janet ~ today makes day four the car won't start :ticked:.! So we will try to get it to a mechanic and then figure out how to pay for it. We really need it but what are you going to do on next to no income? Pray!!! 0:-)
It is sunny, rainy, and windy here all at the same time. Hmmmm... I think the weather is just as confused as the flowers. It is supposed to get colder here and snow some, we'll see.
Talked to my brother yesterday, it was his birthday. He said he forgot about it until his wife wished him a happy birthday. Guess he wanted to forget about it. ;D
Michael is fine, he is watching a dvd on the unit he got from Santa. His eyes are glued to it. No comments from the peanut gallery...Colin  I know what you are thinking!
We had an awesome church service yesterday!!
Ok, time to go. Everyone have a wonderful day in the Lord.
Blessings,
<><Jeannine
Thanks for that link, Etta Sue! If it hadn't been for the journaling, I would have thought those were taken here in Grant County! Looks exactly the same as here. My foster brother lives near Grand Island, my sister in Hershey, Neb. She said they didn't have as much problem there around Hershey with ice. But I see from those pics that Don and Carol have had plenty!! So, those of you who look at those photos, have a glimpse into my world of the past two weeks. And we still have sheets of ice all over the ground, it thaws on top, then freezes, all smooth and slick! :o
Jane, thanks for posting, I will go read it! :)
Colin, lovely poem to go with Etta Sue's devotional today. Thanks!
I'm cleaning house and whatever I can find to keep my mind off my stomach. :P And spending lots more time with my Father.........
Hello all, we are busy trying to get things ready for another round of snow and ice here :ticked: don't really care for it but i guess we need it. the pictures that etta brought in about the ice storm doesn't look a thing like here we got SNOW lots and lots of SNOW. the ice all went to the central oklahoma panhandle. anyways things are going great here i guess warmed up to 45 today so far so maybe more of this snow will get melted before the next round hits. anyways i'm off ttyl
Sarah
The sun is melting the icy roads and they will refreeze tonight and it will be the same tomorrow - meanwhile, we can actually see a bit of the road surface. Trying not to fall - Don wants me to hold his hand & I am afraid that I could pull him down.
Etta Sue: Thanks for the site of the storm pictures. The eastern plains did have ice much more damaging than us - we had drifts & ruts in the roads but there is so much damage and sorry to say but a massive loss for ranchers and farmers.
Gord Brown: An Extreme Makeover - that is a neat title.
Larry: My brother in Seattle must have been out of his mind with happiness - poor Seahawks just have a terrible time & I wish them the best of luck. It is only a game but gets irritating to lose year after year.
Jane: I have been still in church and trying to listen or watch for a sign and two sentences on Sunday's service said "the children will see the light" - it was in our prayers and it struck home to me because this has been in my prayers for years and years. Now, I can relax - still keep up my hopes and prayers but I know that this will come true. I meant to start out mentioning what an interesting life you have led and love how you explained the true circle of living.
Back to the salt mines - errr, quilting all this month & it is my mission to get enough quilts ready for our trip. Right now, we don't know where we will sleep in Texas or if we can have any kitchen facilities - I could certainly cook for everyone if they just give me a stove & oven.
Carol
Hi everyone. It is sunny and cooler here today. We had rain most of the day yesterday and the night and there were tornado warnings until 11:30. One county south of us had damage.
Our housekeeper was able to come today. She hasn't been here for a couple of months so she was really needed. We are happy that she is feeling up to working again as she hasn't been well.
We picked up our daughter to take her to see the chiropractor this morning. Her back has been giving her a lot of problems and the treatment usually make some feeling come back into her legs and feet for a little while. We went go to lunch with her and then took her back to the subway to return to her apartment.
This is going to be a rather busy week.
Janet, the way I do postings where I try to comment to what others have posted is that each time I go to a different page before I click I hold down the Control Key and that open the subsequent page in a new view. Then I can quickly look back on one or more previous pages without losing what I have written at the bottom of the most current page. Hope that makes sense. It works very well. As I am sure you know you can have multiple windows open at the same time and with tabbed browing it is a simple matter of going back and forth.
I have a friend coming to the house in a few minutes so guess I had better go ahead and post this message, which I started this morning and just now getting back to after being gone for several hours.
I was here this morning but didn't have time to post, . I did follow Jane's link to her article, Wow so interesting Jane, it really held my attention. I also looked at the Ice Storm pictures Etta Sue linked us to. Another Wow there.
My Internet connection is still giving me problems i am thinking maybe I need a new modem, I am taking this one over to the cable people tomorrow to have it tested and get another one if this one is bad. They can't get a technician out here when I will be here until next Monday.
Good to see you positing again Sarah.
Janet apology accepted. not a problem just be careful now. I am not awkward or clumsy either but I still fall from time to time, a miss step and so is usually what happens.
Gotta go now.
Not much time, but I wanted to check in. So many people already have been here today.
I am quite sore today, but I have had worse accidents than that fall I took yesterday. Tomorrow I may even been more sore than today, being the second day after the fall. I will try to stay up on my legs in the future, as God intended. :-[
I posted a special photo today in memory of my father, who's 80th. birthday would've been today. I "borrowed" the things from my mother's house while she was out, so I could surprise her with it for Christmas last year. The old flag I used for a backdrop was my grandfather's. I miss my dad much, but I know he's in a much better place.
Thinking of you Pat, JudyB and Ruthie today at the funeral for your auntie. Praying for peace that passes all understanding.
More another time,
Kathleen
Alas, no relief from the rain here on the island. Forcast is for snow tomorrow....which means lots of ice!!
The roof on BC Stadium collapsed. It is the largest air supported roof in the world and the stadium holds 60,000 people. Plan is for it to be used for the opening/closing ceremony of the 2010 Olympics. It was built in 1982 and no problems until all this bad weather :( Fortunate that no one was hurt. More and more damage keeps happening....feel so sorry for all of you who are battling the snow. What strange weather. I am beginning to feel like this little poem, some annoyed person wrote:
Granny
Through every nook and every cranny
The wind blew in on poor old Granny
Around her knees, into each ear
(And up nose as well, I fear)
All through the night the wind grew worse
It nearly made the vicar curse
The top had fallen off the steeple
Just missing him (and other people)
It blew on man, it blew on beast
It blew on nun, it blew on priest
It blew the wig off Auntie Fanny-
But most of all, it blew on Granny!
:)
Nice to read all the posts and the devotional was great, Etta Sue.
Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.
Liz
Hi Everyone,
Well, it's been quiet here. Mrs. Soileau is in San Diego, CA with her Mom, visiting our college-student-son, Casey. Jazz and are both missing here quite a bit.
On Sunday, I preached at a church northeast of Hiroshima. Their pastor was recently diagnosed with arrhythmia and had to step down. It was a blessing to see the small body work together to get the service ready and care for one another's needs.
Please pray for Seto Uchi (seh-tow-oochi) Church, as they wait for a new pastor.
Monday was "Coming of Age Day" in Japan. If ya wanna see some pretty kimonos, head to the Gallery!
In His Grip,
Kevin
John and I are back from the funeral. We met up with cousins we haven't seen in ages. Seems we only see family at funerals now. Sad really.
WE HAVE SNOW! ! ! ! ! ! It started last night, about 4 inches and the drive north today we drove through snow squalls. It is good to be home.
I am closing off early, we are tired and need to wind down before we hit the sack. Time for a cup of tea.
Night all
Judy
Morning All,
Colin ~ having observed your penchant for making an even sillier word picture from a chance phrase I thought you might do the same with Michael, You know eyes glued to the movie?... ok if you do I think Michael would get a major kick out of it. ;D Is it still raining there? We finally got below 32*F and the furnace came on for the first time in weeks. We are supposed to get snow today, we'll see.
Hi JudyB ~ glad you and yours are safe home from the funeral. It is sad that the only time we really see all the family is at funerals or other heartbreaking times.
Marilyn ~ hope you get it fixed soon. :)
Hi Samantha, Sarah, Kevin, Larry, Etta Sue, Pat, Al, Janet, Jane, Gord, and whoever else I forgot to mention. I'm really not all that great at remembering names, just faces.
I hope everybody has a God filled and Blessed day today and everyday!
God Bless,
<><Jeannine
Larry: I held down the Control key and then hit REPLY as that is the next page, I think. Finally, I realized that there is a box saying Thoughts for the Week of Jan. 7 above - in fact, three because I clicked it 3 times. so, now I will check if it is easy to return to Thoughts. This must be what you are writing to Janet. Say, it does work for me - thanks a bunch you brilliant guy!
Here, we are to have a decent day and tomorrow the temperature plummets. I feel so sorry for those who work outdoors, concern for son & SIL who are on planes weekly & enduring long waits. The ice isn't going away quickly and that is unusual. So many people losing money as business is so slow & having to close so often since before Christmas.
Liz: I have not heard about the collapse of your stadium roof. Pretty tough winter!
We will go to the gym again this morning and probably pick up groceries and supplies to have on hand for this next round of snow.
Etta Sue: It has been much too warm for your normal winter, hasn't it? Take care - you might still get a wintery blast as well.
Carol
Hi everyone from N. Ireland...I am not going to mention the weather..not even that it is still raining and cold and windy. Not going to mention a word about it! ;)
I will not answer you all individually but consider all your posts read and digested by me.
I will single Jeannine out though because I had to go looking for a dictionary to find out what penchant meant! :idiot: I thought that is what you meant about Michael and his eyes glued to the movie...well I didnt want to become unstuck by passing some smart remark and making him tear his eyes away. Stick with it Michael is what I say! Talking about eyes...I met my friend down the street with a big black eye and asked him...who give you that. Nobody give it to me ..he said...I had to fight for it! :uglystupid:
Glad you and John are home safe JudyB. Take care.

Last evening was great at Kilbuck Photography Guild. I am always amazed at the great photographers in that club. Just one eye candy after another.
I am ready to go out the door to Greenfield. Nancy had eye surgery yesterday and goes back today to get the patch off. It won't take long but she can't drive.
Then this evening is Beef and Boards and we are seeing 'Ten Little Indians'. I have no idea what that will be but I haven't seen a bad show there yet.
We had a dusting of snow last night. You have to look hard to see it because it is only next to edges like roads, drives and trees. Sun is out now so it will be gone in not time at all.
Thanks to all who commented on the Devotion and the Ice Storm photos. Those photos are beautiful unless you are Janet and living in that. Such destruction from something so beautiful!
I'm out the door!(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(

Good Morning. Well my Internet is working fine this morning so I am not going to disconnect the modem and take it to the cable company today. I have enough going one without having to stop there and stand in line for 30 minutes.
First of all at 8:15 I have a Dr. appointment to get my blood draw results and talk about a couple of other things. The I have to have Jan in Eureka by 11:15 for an Eye Dr. appointment. She also wants to stop at Micheal's Crafts to get some note cards and I need some yarn. the we are going to dinner/lunch at Coney Island hot dogs. I have been wanting a Polish dog with sauerkraut. after we get back I will come home an walk the dogs, I have to hen a robe for Ruth as soon as I can have the time. then I Have to go prepare supper for Ruth at 5 pm and a business meeting at 7pm. Are y-all tired yet? ??? Tuesdays and Wednesdays are busy days for me.
Soon I will have to go out and thaw the windsheild on my car. Yes it is frozen again.
I am still waiting for all the parts for my tent garage to arrive. I recieved one of three boxes.
Sorry I have not commented on your posts. I have read them all. Judy B you are sill going to call me right?
TTYL
Hey, y'all! We still have several inches of ice on most of the streets in town, huge piles of dirty snow everywhere, and our road thaws just a little, then freezes again at night. We were hoping the ice would melt before the new blast that is predicted for Thursday and Friday---rain and ice---and Saturday, more snow. Doesn't sound like much thawing will occur.
My brother lives in the SE corner of Colorado. He is 73 years old, and a diabetic, insulin dependent. He couldn't get out to go to town (lives in the country) so he called someone, and they sent a helicopter out to drop his medicine in the yard. Later, they came back, landed, interviewed him, and it was on TV. I didn't see it, don't even know what channel it was on, but my aunt in New Mexico saw it and called Mom. My sister and brother in law from Nebraska went down to my brother's, taking a snowmobile for him. They took the topper off an old pickup bed, turned it upside down, and used it to haul hay out to his cattle. So many stories come out of a huge storm like this.
I need to be about doing some things here. I shall return!
Marilyn Yes.
Well looks like the snow may stay a few more days. Looks like it may be gone by the week end. Saturday it is to rain and that should melt the snow, as well the temp is to be +6*C or 43*F. These temperatures are almost unheard of here in the North. I for one am not complaining, I don't like the cold and this is a welcomed respite.
Pat you get home safely? You too Ruthie?
Well it is time to go, I have other stuff to do here.
Till later
Judy
Hi everyone.
It is sunny but chilly here in Georgia today. It has been several days since we had a chilly day. I was gone all morning as went to the church organist home to try to fix her printer. The ink cartridge wouldn't come out of its resting place to be replaced and I wasn't able to do anything about it. I am sure the printer has broken and it is only about 18 months old. She is not computer literate in the least and so will be going back to help her. It was lunch time when I got home and after a bite to eat I took a nice nap under my electric blanket to get warmed up.
I think I stayed up too late last evening watching the Ohio State/Florida championship football game. It was a few minutes after midnight when it was over. However, I did miss most of the last quarter but woke up to see the very end and know who won (Florida did).
Carol, I had never used the control key and the reply button together but I see that works well and just gives you the reply window. Thanks for sharing that as I was just referring to using the control key with the next page number but that way on the last page where the posting box it I have had to scroll back up and down to respond to messages on that page and your way eliminates doing that.
JudyB, I know what you mean about seeing relatives only at funerals. It is sad but guess it is a commentary on our current life styles and the distances we put between family members. I also experienced that with our family reunion. Glad you are home safe and sound and that snow didn't turn out to be a problem.
Marilyn, it sounds like your internet provider was having problems more than a modem problem. I am sure you will be glad to get your car garage put back together.
Kathleen, that was a very nice thing to do for your mother in remembrance of your father.
Liz, I hadn't heard of the collapse of the stadium either. Will they be able to reinflate it? Hope you can stay in out of the ice and any snow.
Kevin, hope your wife has a good trip to visit your son and that you "hold down the fort" while she is gone.
Jeannine, hope Micheal gets enjoyment from the play on words that Colin did for him.
Etta Sue, hope you really enjoy your evening out and the play. I haven't seen that play either.
Janet, isn't it wonderful that in times of difficulty like your storm there are safety nets available to deliver medicine. It was also very thoughtful of your sister and brother-in-law to take your brother the snowmobile. It sounds like you all may be getting more snow and ice.
Good Morning Everyone,
Thanks for your comments about the "Coming of Age Day" picts I posted. Yes, the kimonos are expenisive to buy or rent. Usually the parents spring for those.
The young people arrive, laugh, take pictures and wait to go into the hall. There, they are congratulated, a young man and woman give a short speech, kind of a vow to be responsible adults, then they will hear a boring talk about the responsibilities of being an adult, pick up their gift, and it's over.
Well, there are more pictures to be taken, pictures with the Mayor, pictures with former classmates, and so on.
Oh, they can now legally smoke and drink, too, and many do on this day, just to show how adult they've become. ::)
You can see a few more picts here.. http://mybcjazz.multiply.com/photos/album/37
In His Grip,
Kevin
Good day everyone!
I don't have much time today. We are off to Irish Dance class in a little bit and have to go to Costco first. We live about 18 miles outside of Boise, so when we go in to town, we do as many errands as we can. Dance class is in Boise, too.
I'm enjoying the website and everyone's posts. Fun jokes, Colin! I take it you're our website "clown". Laughing is great medicine, so keep it up. I need it since I'm still healing up from my fall. A couple of small bruises and one BIG one! Not as sore as I was yesterday so that is a praise! Thanks, to those of you who've been praying for me. I appreciate it!
Processed several more church directory pictures today. I'll be glad and relieved when it's finished. I'm extracting each family and putting a different background on each one for continuity. Fun stuff! At least Photoshop CS2 is WAY faster than the Elements 4.0 I was using. And I can keep them as PSD files, in case I need to change something, now that I have my 500G My Book. That was my Christmas present from my husband. He's so good to support me pursuing my dream! When my kids graduate and are out on their own, I will get serious about photography. But then, I'll miss my kids. :'(
Well, blessings to you all! Until next time...Kathleen
Kathleen,
Glad your son liked my dragon pict! Pass on my "thanks"!
In His Grip,
Kevin
Hi Kathleen/shutterbugmon...me..a clown!...whatever give you that impression 0:-)
Two Irish cannibals are eating a clown. One says to the other...does this taste funny to you! :uglystupid:
I was reading about Larry taking a snooze under his electric blanket...well we have a very clever inventer who crossed an electric blanket with a toaster....it worked really well but he kept popping out of bed at night! :uglystupid:
Etta Sue...I ment to comment...poetic or what! ^-^....on the snow pictures. Pretty awesome. Glad our winter is never as bad as that...beautiful scenery though! When we do get a little snow now in Ireland we have stopped making snowmen...they take too long to build because you have to spend time hollowing the head out! :uglystupid: Well they reckon us Irish have no brains but we know to put a stop sign at the the top of our ladders. Not many people would think of that!
Ok...I am off for some tea and toast :coffee:
Hello to everyone I have not mentioned...oh by the way Kevin..thank you for taking a photo of the mother-in -law...I will pay to get it framed. ^-^
GOODNIGHT!!
Hi All. I am home for a few hours, well just a little while longer before I go fix Ruth some supper. I don't know how long she is going to be able to stay at home. Home Health called me and said she had called them 5 times today and also the ER at the hospital. The bather was there to give her a bath and the nurse had been there to see her too. I am beginning to think it was a mistake to bring her home. Please pray for her.
Hi Colin, Kevin, Kathleen ( I'm not calling you Karen today) JudyB, and Pat where are you? Hi to Larry Etta Sue, Carol, Janet, Sarah and Jeannine.
Gotta go now.

The play was okay! Not a musical or dance. A play. 'Ten Little Indians'. One little, two little, three little Indians. Four little.....nope, it wasn't like that. It used to be called 'And Now There Were None'. Agatha Christie. Now you are getting closer. It was a mystery! Ten strangers, each with a deadly secret, are invited to a desolate mansion on Indian Island by a host they never see and who doesn't arrive. As they wait, they realize they are cut off from everything but each other and their own dark deeds. One by one, the guests share their shameful stories, and one by one, they die. Those who remain realize the murderer is one of them - but who? And who will be the next to pay for their past?
Now let me take you back to photography club. Each member may bring 4 total photos to show and be gently critiqued. We can email them to a gentleman, or they can be prints with mattes or they can be slides. All are shown on an overhead screen. (actually the wall) or easle. There was one elderly lady there, thin, big white hair, foxed up pretty good. All of a sudden on the easle was this huge portrait style photo of what looked like a sick E.T. Really!! :P Mostly in brown tones but really not the sepia look. I am just glad it wasn't my turn to critique. But when asked who the creator was, she said she was. Then the President asked, what is it? Very calmly, like everyone has one, she said, it is a picture of her dead cat that she has had in her garage for 15 years!!!! :uglystupid: :idiot: Yes!!! She didn't go in detail but she said she just couldn't part with that cat or another one that she has. Two dead cats in her garage for 10 & 15 years. All that is left she said is bones and petrified skin!! :idiot: And she decided that she needed a photo to further memorialized this cat. 8" x 10" matted and framed!!! She also had a photo of the second one and it was gorier if there is such a word. It was a head shot looking into its mouth with its teeth and empty eye sockets! I have no idea why I keep thinking of these two photos. I think the woman is nuts!! :uglystupid: I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!
Red Hats today. Thought maybe they might cancel it since there will only be four of us but we are still going out. @_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@

I will be off and running shortly but thought I had better stop in here before I leave and say hello to all who enter here today and all who have already been here. Sorry I can't stay long enough to write much, I have homework for Bible study tonight and a bunch of other stuff to get done, too.
TTYL
Etta Sue, I knew a woman who kept all the veterinary records of her dead cat, carried them around with her everywhere she went, and bored everyone with tales of the cat and its many illnesses. SICK, if you ask me! Or they need to get a life!
I have to go soon, appointment in town, and need to take Beth 4 gallons of water (she likes the well water from home, no chlorine) and some money.
Darrel and I have been busy around here today, and he has been practicing on the organ. Says after 30 years, it's hard even to read the top hand, and his left hand is pretty stiff. So this will be really good for him, mind and body!! He called about his piano, they said 2 weeks yet. :( Of course, we are having to get rid of some furniture, to make room for the piano! When the other one got struck by lightning and messed up, we moved it to the garage; then bought a couch that takes the space it used to occupy! :-\
I need to fix my hair and face and be ready to head out soon. Back later.
Hi Everyone!
Not much going on here today. We got a few flurries this morning and are supposed to have snow tonight and tomorrow as a cold front is headed in, but we will wait and see. Sometimes we get the cold, but no snow.
It's another school day for us. :) It's lunchtime right now, so I thought I'd pop in and say hi. Seems like I'm never on when everyone else is. Kinda lonely. Oh well.
Pat-Glad to see you're back.
Colin-You crack me up! I'll have to tell you a joke that my daughter told me...as soon as I remember it. :-[
Etta Sue-EEEEwwwww! I can't even imagine how horrible those pictures were! I think you're right, the gal's crazy!
Marilyn-thanks. I hadn't even noticed you called me Karen... ;) Glad you figured it out, though.
I'm taking pictures, but not getting time to download, process, and get them ready for web. Especially since I'm still working on the church directory. Are you all still praying for me on that one? Ugh! Can you believe people think because of the digital age, this job is easy???? If they only knew!
Have a nice day everyone!
Blessings,
Kathleen
Etta Sue that is just plain gross. Yukky. It is stuff like that that unfortunately we can't get out of our minds. OK lets change subject.
So far the snow is staying. One of the big ski areas had laid off all 1500 personnel as there was no work for them. Well they have been rehired. It can be scarey when a town is dependent on the weather to function.
I have had a pain in my left hip for a couple of weeks now. Today it got worse and I finally figured out why. I need a new desk chair, or something fixed on this one. The legs are not even setting the balance off with my back and hips. The funny part about it is that there is only about a 1/2 inch difference in the legs. I am back to my old chair, the ache is slowly stopping.
I am working on a project in History to teach the girls next year. It is Canadian History form 1800 to 1900. I used to really dislike history, amazing how your perspectives change in just a few years.
Well I need to go, Need a cup of tea.
Till later
Judy
Hi everyone.
This was Bible Study day with our pastor and we started a study of Revelations. There was a good group in attendance. Then 10 of us went over to the donut shop and visited until after 12 noon when one of the group suggested we go next door to the cafe and have lunch. So it was after 1:30 when we got home. I have felt very weary today so laid down and had a nap. Not much of the day left as I have choir practice this evening. I have some things I want to accomplish but nothing that won't wait. One of the joys of retirement is that I get to set my own schedule (with a little help from my wife). :)
Etta Sue, that is just plain creepy about the photographs of the dead cats.
Janet, glad that Darrel is taking up playing the organ and piano again. That is something that I need to do more of but always seem to put it off.
Colin, when I wrote about getting under the electric blanket I thought to myself I bet Colin will have something witty to say about it and you didn't let me down.
Guess I had better move on today. I enjoyed reading each and every posting.
Ok...enough tomfoolery! Kathleen ..who I am very sure is Irish or of Irish descents... and I are shouting at each other! She is dafter than I am..
Right....contrary to good advice and the fact that this is a photographers site...I purchased a camcorder today! It is a belated Christmas present because my sons said they would help me buy one in the January sales....no flies on us! ::) It is a mini digitial Panasonic model..NV-GS180EB with a 3CCD lens. It has taken me all night to get the lens cap fitted on it so I am doing very well! :idiot: I am working my way through the instruction booklet...it will all sink in sometime  It does take still photos but only 2.3 mega pixels which is not much better than my mobile phone.I did lots of research on it and did not find any bad comments so hopefully it will shoot good quality video. The battery is on the charger so I will get trying out my camcorder tomorrow.
Hello everyone and goodbye....more reading to do! Take care!
Hi Folks,
Just want to remind everyone that my Shoutbox doesn't work. I'm not ignoring you!
Gripped,
Kevin
Kevin are you absolutely sure you aren't ignoring us in the shout box. <3
Hi Colin.
I am home for a few housrs and trying to get my laundry finished up. Read the newspaper and not much happening there either. It is a free paper that is delivered daily to the bushes in the front yard. Would be nice if they hit the drivway now and then.
Later y-all
This month I will talk a lot about quilts. I am so happy because I have been calling around to try to collect quilts for the homes in Texas - we will haul them in the back of our van and by now there are 13 to 14 quilts expected. Today, our quilting group at church tied three quilts.
Judy B: Hooray and happy to see that you have snow on the ground.
The temperature will drop tomorrow but snow isn't expected until tomorrow night and not as much as the last two winter blasts. I am waiting for the oven to cool so I can clean it after a pizza dropped into the bottom and the kitchen became full of smoke.
Carol
Hi everyone. I wanted to write a line or two before leaving for coffee. I have a very busy day ahead and probably won't make it back to CP today. After coffee I have to drive almost an hour to see my heart doctor. I hope to be done in time to get to a retirees luncheon at 11:30. Will come home and rest a bit and then have a white paper to write for our SeniorNet Computer Learning Center on recruiting and retaining volunteers. It will be based on research I have done over the last couple of months and I am working with a committee but I seemed to send up as the leader. Then this evening I have a commitment.
Carol, sure hope you don't get much more snow. You all need a break. It is nice that folks are contributing to your quilt project. Pat's quilting group has probably made about 10 quilts, some of which were contributed to Katrina victims and some to the Family Promise families when they are able to get their own place.
Marilyn, it sounds like your paper delivery person is very consistent. :)
Hi Kevin.
Colin, I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from your camcorder. I have never had one or really know little about using them. I know those lens cap projects can be daunting. :)
Here's hoping that we each remember to be grateful for the day the Lord has allowed us to have. The hard days makes the good days more enjoyable.
She learned to quilt on Monday.
Her stitches all were very fine.
She forgot to thaw out dinner.
so we went out to dine.
She quilted miniatures on Tuesday.
she says they are a must.
They really were quite lovely.
But she forgot to dust.
On Wednesday it was a sampler.
She says stippling's fun.
What highlights! What Shadows!
But the laundry wasn't done.
Nine patches were on Thursday -
Green, yellow, blue and red.
I guess she really was engrossed;
She never made the bed.
It was wall hangings on Friday,
In colors she adores.
It never bothered her at all,
That crumbs were on the floors.
I found a maid on Saturday,
My week is now complete.
My wife can quilt the hours away;
The house will still be neat.
Well, now it's only Sunday,
I think I'm about to wilt.
I cursed, I raved, I ranted,
Cause the MAID has learned to QUILT!
The above poem is not one of mine I hasten to add. I was reading Carols post and was thinking nearly all the ladies here are at the quilting or something. I had that poem in my mind as good while! <3
Hi Larry...I will certainly get plenty of enjoyment from my camcorder...when I get it going :idiot:
Hi everyone else!
Colin Why do you think I don't quilt? Your poem says why. Sewing can be like that as well.
The temperature is down today. The cold is needed, but I have to say that I did perfer the weather we had earlier in the month.
This is shaping up to be a busy day here in the north. The power went out at about 10:00 so we went to bed and we are well rested.
Pat How is Judy and when is her surgery?
Bye for now
JydtB
Good Morning it is cold here. lastnight the weatherman said that we may hav e snow today down on the beach even.
Good Bible study last night. It seems like our Bible studies are a "God appointment" for those who attend that particular night. I still have some more stuff to type up for the Bible study. What I took last night was a bit too long so now I have to condense it and turn it into a prayer. That is going to be a hard task, but will help me I am sure.
Well I must get off the computer and get ready for work. ot he foot doctor this morning with my Jan. I am so glad that Medicare pays for these appointments. I have an ingrown toenail that is giving me fits and I just can't seem to be able to get my foot into my lap anymore to cut my toenails and I can't see them if I just put my foot up on something.
Later.

Thanks for the comments on the crazy lady at photography guild. I still can't keep that image out of my head. :clobber:
Colin ~ Does your camcorder record on DVD? I have a VHS camcorder that I haven't had out of the carrier since my first digital camera. And I haven't had the first digital out since I got my new one. Now I am thinking of finding a less than $100 digital to carry in my purse for those emergency shots!
We did go to Red Hats yesterday even though there was only four of us. It was fun. We went to Don Pablos and then to a novelty shop. Then to Kohl's clothing. We were to meet at the door in half an hour. I saw I had 5 minutes until the half hour was up so headed to the door. There was a bench so I sat down. Five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes, twenty minutes and finally a Red Hat lady came in from the outside and said, 'You are at the wrong door!!'. There were two doors and I didn't know it. So all was well. Then we stopped for homemade ice cream. Two scoops of Coconut Almond Fudge Ripple....a meal in itself!
I still have TV programs to watch. And I will be gone all weekend to two baby showers in Ohio. One of my classmates called last evening and said she couldn't be there Saturday so we decided to just cancel 60 Chix for January! So I sent out emails telling them to wait until February to meet.
I have a little wind whistle in one of my bedroom windows. The wind was fierce and I was whistled at all night long. That happens when the wind is from the south. Bright and sunny but freezing cold. Brrrr!
That's it for today. No appointments today and no plans of going anywhere. ^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+

I forgot to tell y-all that the ice on top of my car looks like hair standing straight up, so my car has a crew cut
I hope you took a photo, Marilyn.
Etta Sue, you live a "happy life" as they say in China.
I have been going over my notes on China, preparing to give a program for Sunday School on Sunday, and Lions Club on Monday.
Colin---for me, it is painting! Or scrapbooking! I read a very similar poem years ago about painting, and really identified with it. There was a man on the 700 Club this morning who really made me think of you, because he used humor for many years to hide his pain. I hope your pain is gone now, but we do enjoy your humor.
Larry, have a good day, and don't work too hard.
JudyB, I used to sew a LOT when my kids were young, making all their clothes and most of mine. But when painting came into my life, sewing had to take a back seat. You may be able to do it all, but not in equal amounts! Right? I still get the sewing bug once in a while, but not often. I want to continue to teach Abby to sew, though.
Carol, quilting is something I have never gotten into, other than making some quilts for my babies---years ago! They do a lot of quilting at the Senior Center here. I'm a great admirer of quilts, but not a maker of them. ;)
I had to go and take Mieka (dog) to visit Beth this morning; they were both begging for it. Beth asked if we can bring Mieka to her when we go to church on Sunday, so one of the nurses she especially likes, and who like chihuahuas, can "meet" her. Also, that will give her longer to enjoy having Mieka, and Mieka should then be a "holy dog" as she will take her to their church service there at the home.
Darrel had to go to Liberal, so I have the place to myself for a while. He asked if I wanted to go with him, but I just wanted to stay home today. Now, I need to see if I can get some things done.
Hi Etta Sue....if you mean does my camcorder record straight unto a dvd disc..no it does not. They reckon a mini dvd tape is still the best for recording on and editing in a computer. The 3ccd lens is supposed to give a very high quality of picture and is used in TV cameras. I only got a limited use of my camera today because the weather was atrocious outside. I took some indoor shots of Gregory playing on his new games console. I played my recording back on the TV but it was hard to judge because the high wind was giving me a bad signal. When I did get a half decent signal...the quality of the pictures were really good..and the outdoor shots showed up a really natural colour with good detail. I will be able to judge better when I shoot more film and get a better signal but overall I am quite pleased. Gregory says the pictures were very good too so it is a
Hi JudyB and Janet...Marlene my wife likes to put up jigsaws but there is not much end product with them and are very time consuming. I seem to rotate my hobbies a bit...in the winter I would do most of my paintings and in the summer months it is the gardening. Poems I write anytime. The camcorder will occupy me as well now. I do a lot of things on the computer as well which includes using the scanner.
Janet..when does that pain ever go away...but I do like a good laugh!
Hi Marilyn...I never could get my feet into my lap but everytime I open my mouth I usually put one in there. I understand about seeing the toes! Do you know....I wish I had never read what Etta Sue had written about that lady and her dead cats! :( I keep getting a mental picture of them and every time I hear a cat mew..it gives me shudders!
We were so pleased when our Irish team appeared in the World Tug of War Championship in Japan and then they got disqualified for pushing! :uglystupid:
Take care everyone!
Hello all,
Its been busy around here. More winter preperations for the upcomming storm. EMS planning times Pizza hut Meetings trying to clean what we can of the house incase of lose in electricity---- we now have our generator tho!!! anyways i need to get off here and ready for work so i can get to the meetings i have this afternoon ttyl
Sarah
G'day all,
Colin ~ ;D you crack me up!!!
My canon 430 Powershot had a video setting and I took video's of my Pastor Kevin's sermons throughout the Advent season and Christmas eve. I then made a DVD of it titled Advent 2006, it came out pretty good and it's digital. Pretty soon you'll be doing all that fun stuff too.
Marilyn ~ I know the feeling about getting the feet up. I messed up my right knee years ago and can't bend it properly to do that anymore.
We got snow too! A whole inch, but boy did it get cold last night, 20*F. Michael's day and evening nurses each got about 8 inches where they live, one north of us and the other south. And we're stuck in the middle....
I have had a project going for a few days now, I took digital pictures of my mom's slides of the family and all before my parent's got married and some from when my brother and I were little. I have been touching them up and brightening the colors to where they should be. There are about 425 slides to go through and I've got 300 done so far. IT's quite a job. I'll then make copies of the DVD I'll make of the slide shows and give them to family. It's actually fun to see the pictures come to life again. There are some great shots from my parents wedding 46yrs ago.
Okay, time to go and get some shut eye. I pray everyone has a God filled and blessed day/evening/night.
Blessings,
<><Jeannine
Here is the photo of the roof of my car this morning.(https://www.christianphotographers.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10009/normal_roof_hair.jpg)
Hi Jeannine..I am sure your DVD is brilliant. Took more footage with my camcorder this evening and very pleased with the results. The colour is so natural looking. I know I will have a brill time using it. Say hello to Michael for me.
Hi Marilyn...That is a picture to make me shiver! Take care on the roads.
I am going to bed now so goodnight all.
Isn't it strange what nature can do? I've never seen the frost/ice stand up on a car roof like that before. Bet you will be glad to get your little garage back into service!
Jeannine, I wish I had some of those skills with photos. I have 8mm movies I want put on DVD, when I find them again! :-[
I wanted to tell you about a cousin of a friend of mine. He has MS really bad, is barely able to walk with two arm crutches, but he gamely keeps on going. He's a teacher and subs at a school over in Satanta. Well, when they were without power for a week, then it came back on; he decided to drive out in the country to tell his elderly parents they could come in to his house to shower. (They still had no power.) His cell phone battery was dead, and he didn't take time to charge it up before he left. Anyway, the power lines were down across the road, so he decided to try to drive across a field---got stuck---got out and tried to make it on to their house, which he could see. He fell, of course, kept trying, got too far to get back to his car.........and was found 18 hours later, nearly frozen. He is recovering in the hospital, with frostbite on hands, knees, and face. He scraped the skin off his legs from knees halfway to ankles. My friend said he has huge black scabs which they remove three times a day--ouch!
But there were several miracles that helped him make it. The main one was that the two men who found him were out there to pump a well. They had planned to do it the day before, but decided to wait; and if they hadn't been there, who knows when Terry would have been found? His parents weren't home, and they said that if he had stayed in his car with the flashers on, they would have seen it when they came home that night. Terry is a Christian, and I'm sure he did a lot of talking to Father God during that ordeal. I can't imagine how awful that was, and still is, for him.
Time to hit the sack. See you tomorrow.
;)Good evening to all. Well we still have not got much snow but it is supposed to get very cold this weekend.
To let you all know that my niece has finally gone and she is feeding every two hours so it is very hard for her mum but praise the Lord for your prayers for this little life and thank you. She is very weak and and so is mum as she has had very little sleep so please contiue to pray that bothwill get strength and baby will gain some weight.
A prayer request from myself that the Lord will guide me into doing something for him so that souls will be saved for the Kingdom.
Have a good evening and the Lord bless. Gord. <3 <3
Hi everyone from N. Ireland. Cold wet and windy...so nothing new there then!
Hi Janet....thank you for sharing that story about Terry. The Lord had His hand on him without a doubt. I hope he makes a full recovery. Are you still painting Janet...I have not done any for ages. Take care and mind you dont fall again.
Hi Gordon...thank you for the update on your niece. Will continue to pray for your family. I do pray that the Lord will give you a guidance. I wonder if you feel if you are being led in any particular direction. I know I do not do enough for Him...I heard once and it would be true...if we could only look into Hell this moment...we would work never ceasing to get souls saved.
Hi Pat..wherever you are! Hope you are well. I know this is hard for you at this time of year. I have been thinking about you...I cant get on the msn when I really want to and I do miss our chats. Take care.
Hello to everyone else who will visit here!
Hi everyone.
Just back from coffee at the senior center and shortly will have to leave for the other senior center. I have 4 different meetings to attend up there today starting at 10 am. This is going to be a long day. Our program this afternoon is on buying and selling on Ebay.
Janet, that was really a frightening experience for your friend. It is a wonder he was found in time.
Marilyn, your picture of the ice crystals is great. It almost looked like water with little waves.
I don't have time for individual comments today but have read the postings and appreciate each person who has posted.

Tony just called and we talked for too long. Now I have to get off of here to get ready to go to my Urologist. If my bladder is clean of tumors today, I don't have to see her again for a year!!!
Will try to get back later! + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Hmmm.........slow day in here, everyone must be busy!
I've been "out and about"......went swimming and that felt good, the hard thing was watching out for the ice chunks. (Just kidding!) The water was a wonderful 83 degrees.
I'm wondering if any of my painting group will be able to come tomorrow. They come from as far away as 200 miles. If we have to cancel, this will make 3 years in a row that something caused us to cancel when I was hosting the meeting. :( But I surely do not want any of them out on the highways in dangerous conditions. It looks as if the really bad storm they predicted for this area will miss us, but it is really cold. It has "warmed up" from 9 to 11 degrees today! BRRRRRR!!!!
Thanks for your concern for Terry. He's trusting in the Lord, as he has for years, through the good and bad times. His wife kicked him out about 9 years ago, which really devastated him, but he is doing better. His daughter and her fiance` from Denver came to visit him in the hospital, and that really gave him a boost.
I forgot to tell you a praise report!! The other day as Darrel and I were coming home from town, a deer jumped into our path, we missed that one, and here came another! Darrel was driving, and managed to slow enough and quickly enough, that we just hit the deer's rear leg! It cracked part of the bumper, and knocked off the deer whistle, but we were SO thankful. Could have been a really bad deal, but for the protection of the Lord. <3 He's so awesome, and I love Him.
Etta Sue, I'm trusting for you to get a good report again on your bladder!! (((hugs)))
Larry, don't work too hard today in all those meetings!
Our high today has been about zero degrees F. So, I have spent several days indoors just working like crazy on quilts & driving out to churches that will give me any of their quilts. Enough, I am starting to dream of these. :P
Larry: It is nice of Pat to work with her church group on quilts. I hope that you stay warmer than us.
Colin: Love you quilter's poem. I can't do any sewing unless everything in the house is in place & that is why I get so tired, I think. You can tell Marlene that doing jigsaws is great for the brain - am glad that one of you is working on brain maintanence...... ;D Oh, I am going to have to duck after saying that.......
Marilyn: LOL on your car top. Does that look frosty.
Off for a much needed haircut & I have pork chops in the oven so it should be ready when I return.
Carol
;)Hi to all. Hope that you are having a good day. I spent almost 3 hours at the Y.M.C.A. I am trying to get rid of the extra pounds that I ahould not have but Christmas did not help.
I just received an email from my nephew saying how thankful he and his wife are for all the prayers that all the people have been doing over the last 2 to 3 weeks. Thank you again God bless you this weekend Gord.
This is for you, Judy:

THE BIBLE STANDS (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/biblestn.mid)
(Click title for music)
The Bible stands like a rock undaunted
'Mid the raging storms of time;
Its pages burn with the truth eternal,
And they glow with a light sublime.
Refrain
The Bible stands though the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For the Bible stands.
The Bible stands like a mountain towering
Far above the works of men;
Its truth by none ever was refuted,
And destroy it they never can.
Refrain
The Bible stands and it will forever,
When the world has passed away;
By inspiration it has been given,
All its precepts I will obey.
Refrain
The Bible stands every test we give it,
For its Author is divine;
By grace alone I expect to live it,
And to prove and to make it mine.
Refrain

Hi there, Pat! You've been a woman of mighty few words lately, what have you been up to?
Gord, I am working on that Christmas overload too. I have it all back off now, and am working to get on down toward my goal weight. Good luck! So glad to read that the baby and Mom got to go home, they should do better there.
I have things ready to put into the car in the morning---well, have loaded about half the stuff--for the painting meeting tomorrow. I think there will only be 6 of us, rather than the usual 12 to 15, because of the weather. If I had known that, I could have had it here in my studio, but it will be nice for them to see our lovely library, anyway.
Carol, are you a perfectionist? ;) If I waited to do what I like doing, until everything was in place, I likely would never get to it! :clobber: (That's for me, not you.)
I'm going to bed now, goodnight, and don't let the bed bugs bite!
Good Night Janet: Don't forget to say your prayers.
Nite all

Well, my doctor's appointment was Thursday so I missed it. I could have sworn that it was Friday. It was for Monday but they sent me a paper in the mail and I wrote it on my calender and my reminder, the 12th. But sure enough when I got home and looked at the paper, it was the 11th! :-[ Drats! Getting old in no fun at all! So now I go next Thursday at 1pm. :uglystupid:
Another rainy, gloomy, cold day in Indiana. My sump pump is turning on about every 4-5 minutes. Finally daylight outside and water everywhere! Lots of ponds on the fields!
Ivalou and I are leaving for Ohio at 10am. We have a Baby Shower this afternoon and one tomorrow afternoon for Ivalou's g-grand son, due February 13th...Adrian Carter. 45 years ago you sure didn't know the baby's sex, name or anything like they do today. I seem to think it takes the expectancy out of it all. I was delighted to hear the words, "It's a Boy!!". So with that being said, I won't be back on here until late tomorrow. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Well, it's laundry day today. That means I load the laundry basket into the car and take it about a block away to the laundry room (free use). Marbeth tends it for about 2 1/2 hours, then we reload it, take it home. She reads, etc. while it's going. We have walkie-talkies so she can call me if necessary or tell me when it's ready for me to come up and get her and it. Because she has to laundry sit for 2 1/2 hours, I take her out to lunch, so I have to figure out where we'll go today. In the meanwhile, I'm doing a study in 1 Corinthians at present, so I'll work on that.
It's been below freezing here every morning lately, as you could see from Marilyn's car top photo the other day. But it's also been sunny during the day, though it doesn't warm up very much.
Yup the car is frozen again today but not like the photo. I put a tarp over the front windows. Yesterday I couldn't get the door open then after I got it open and inside to start the car I came in the house and when I went back out I couldn't get the door open again. It happened again at Curves a little later. Good thing I had a one half gallon jug of water in the trunk. I thought maybe it would also be frozen but it wasn't.
I am just thankful that it isn't as bad here as it has been in the midwest. Those Ice storms are the pits and destroy so much. My prayers are for all who live there.
I hve been trying to keep the dogs in this morning but Happy insisted on going out. He goes out and just lays there like he does every morning. I have a load of laundry to take out of the washer now. so I will be back later today.
My painting meeting is canceled---it is snowing all over this whole area. All the ladies are getting to the age we don't like to get out in bad weather or take chances. I had the car loaded and ready to go---but I'm not upset. One of the things I prayed about last night was the ice around the library, and that no one would fall. The walks are cleared, but there is ice from the curb out about six feet. They have put sand on it, but it's still treacherous. Oh, well, now I have today to do something else.
Beth called last night to tell me the mother of their chaplain at the care home passed away. She was just down the hall from Beth. Beth asked me to buy some sympathy cards for her, so I will go do that soon, then don't think I need to get out again today.
Etta Sue, I have done that very thing, and isn't it embarrassing? :-[ I have developed a calendar habit, for sure---write things down and then double-check them!
Al, it's nice that you don't have to pay to do your laundry. That can get expensive in a hurry! Do they assign you a certain day, or can you go anytime you like?
I'm missing my buddy Pat. She is in Texas, as her daughter just presented her with a little grandson. She is coming home on Monday.
See you later---happy Saturday!
Well Winter has finally arrived. It is cold, really cold.
Larry I have laundry to do as well, It will take more than 3 hours as I have to space the loads apart, Morning, noon, and evening. If there is not much water usage I may get 4 in.
John is out with the girls. I have the house to myself and it is rather nice. Wouldn't like this forever though it is almost too quiet.
Pat thank you for posting that song. I am praying for you sis.
Gord Keep praying about saving souls. I know he has an answer. It may take a bit to be revealled.
Well off to laundry, I may not be back today.
Love to all and i pray for each of you as I go about my work.
JudyB
Judy and Janet you both called AL Moak by another name. I looked at Oscar and then realized you were talking about AL. Same with Larry. Sounds like you both need a memory jolt. I can help you with that. <3
Take this memory test. http://www.univeralifesciences.com/memorytest/
I started out at 101 out of 200 I haven't taken it in a few weeks but I was at 169 the last time. I think I will go take it now.
I see my name being bandied about. How come? What'd I do now? I'm innocent, ya know.
:D Good afternoon to all. My wife and I just got back from the swimming pool and we had a good time and was very refreshing.
It is also nice to go and you seem to meet someone that lives very close to you.
Janet. Sorry to here that your painting meeting is cancelled but you know that God always knows what is going on. As Judy B. said that winter has arrived it has also come to the Niagara area and we woke up to snow this morning but not very much. I still have not been able to use my snow blower that I bought but thats o.k.
Judy B. I am glad that we do not have all that laundry to do I do remember the days that we did. I received Johns email I will be in touch. Have a good day tomorrow.
To others that posted. The calender thing I think is a great idea as when I put things that are going to happen further down the road its terrible to say I still miss them. Thats when you know you have early timers. HA.HA.
Etta Sue. I just love the picture of the baby its so cute.
Al Moak. It seems that you and I are quite often on the site at the same time and I. Smart idea having the wakie talkies to communicate.I do hope that you get some better weather as those crops will have a rough time. They showed on t.v. last night how bad it is in some of the orchards it must be so hard for the farmers.
Have a blessed day tomorrw.
Pat. Hope that you are o.k. dont see you posting as much praying for you.
Gods Richest Blessings to all Gord.
Marilyn---prove it! :P
We had some friends come for supper to help eat the food we had cooked for my painting group, and had such a nice visit with them. We really need to have friends over more often.
I must go do my nails. See you tomorrow!
Now, Al, you may be a lot of things, but I don't think innocent is one of them! ;)
What a terrible thing to say!
Morning all,
So glad to see everyone is having a great time with all they do and with each other here. I may not comment much but I sure do enjoy reading about everything. I do pray for you all as I read the posts and during the day.
Has anyone heard from mybcjazz? I read there was an 8.3 magnitude earthquake near the Kuril Islands and a tsunami warning was issued for the pacific region and especially Japan. I pray he and his were not in the way of that mess.
I pray everyone has a God filled and blessed Lord's day today and everyday.
TTYL
<><Jeannine
Janet prove what?
Morning all. It is very cold here. Please pray the the cirtus crops will make it. They are really struggling to save them in the Central Valley and Southern California.
Nothing much planned for today. Church and back at 5 PM for prayer meeting.
Back to work tomorrow. We have to go buy Ruth a new phone, one that is easy for a legally blind person to use, she needs another cordless phone.
Later
We are not going anywhere this morning - more snowing & fog. I have such a painful shoulder and looked at symptoms on Web MD so do believe it is tendonitis. Putting ice on it and taking Ibuprophen. I think the quilt frenzy has aggravated the area.
Janet: I am not a perfectionist but it does bother me as I see flaws in things I do and if I do something and someone says it is so nice, I say, "Its nothing". Do hope you don't have the ice storm again.
Etta Sue: I have a quilting meeting once every two months & I forget that so often. It is those things we don't do all the time.
Al: Nice to look forward to lunch out for Marbeth after doing the laundry.
Marilyn: Use a little WD-40 in the car locks - be sure to have the long plastic tube in the sprayer so it isn't spraying all over.
Carol
By the way, Marilyn - when Carol said "a little" WD-40, she wasn't kidding. Make sure it's only "a little" indeed.
Al and Carol so far the locks have not been frozen but I sure appreciate the suggestion of the WD-40 I know you can use that for a lot of different things. Some one sent me an email with a whole bunch of stuff it is used for and I accidentally deleted that email, so if someone here has that list please email it to me again.
Hi, friends,
I've really been occupied with work and situations involved in work this week. It has been great to read the discussion, yesterday and today, so now I'm up to date.
A phrase from the Bible "underneath the everlasting Arms" keeps popping into my head today. How wonderful to know that He keeps is everlasting Arms underneath to support us, and that we are all covered in His love.
Y'all have a good afternoon.
Ruth Ann
Ruth Ann, I also love the hymn Leaning on the Everlasting Arms. Good thoughts in that, remembered from my childhood, such as "safe and secure from all alarm." I am counting the weeks with you until you can retire. You deserve it, lady!! :)
Hey, Al--your turn! ;)
Colin, where are you? We miss your banter when you don't come in here.
Larry, I hope you're having a good Sunday.
Carol, it does sound as if the quilting frenzy could have been the reason for your pain and discomfort. Take it easy for a while, can you?
I heard the strangest thing in church today. This should be of interest to Pat. Rub WD40 into the knee joints to releive the arthritis pain!! Now that is a first. Another home remidy I heard of was to rub caster oil into the joints! I dinno which is best but our friends grandma long past in glory used the WD40 and said it worked.
Our pastor was absent today....wife was in hospital, Their baby was due on the 11th, today is the 14th. . . I hope for her sake that all is well. They have 4 other children from 16 down to 10.
Today is cold. We are feeling it. but praise God our wood is from our own bush and is free.
Not commenting on the posts, just know I am praying for each person who has posted, and those who haven't. May God lighten your load.
God bless
JudyB
Hi Everyone...
Yes, I've been absent far too long.
Sorry about that. Just been a terrible week. 'Nuff said.
Sounds like you're all doing pretty good. Glad to read of the joking around!
Hi Al!
I won't be posting to each person but know that I'm thinking of you all.
Ohhh, forgot to say that I thought I'd start a project this year trying to post a Photo A Day!
Not sure if I'll last but I'm using it to also learn how to take a photo better.
If you want to check out my work so far, (and I missed a couple of days), here's a link.
Pat's Photo-A-Day Project (http://patzpics.blogspot.com/) or my PAD Project!
Janet - I don't know why I should have to answer, inasmuch as I've been nearly perfect.
Hi everyone,
Just a quick check in this evening. I have just been very busy and didn't have time yesterday to get to CP and it is late this evening. We are having beautiful weather and it got to 68 degrees today. Pat had a bad day with her fibromyalgia pain but is feeling much better this evening. We are watching the TV program called "24" as she has seen all of the episodes and it is her favorite program.
We spoke with my wife's sister in Independence, Missouri, and she said they were having more ice and snow this evening.
We are heading to Florida on Thursday for about a week.
Well, okay, Al, I concede. If you've been NEARLY perfect, you have me beat by a mile! ;)
Pat, good to see you today. I will go check out your PADs. I already know you do good work. :)
Larry, glad to hear your Pat is feeling better. While we will miss you while you are gone to Florida, we will rejoice in knowing you are having a break and a great time!
I'm going to lock up here and open a door to a brand new week in Thoughts.
Come on over and enjoy fresh coffee, tea, fruit and cinnamon rolls here. (http://christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=5904.0)
