I had a terrible night of nightmares.  I wound up waking up and praying for family and friends including here on CP.  That thankfully stopped the nightmares, and I was able to get some rest.

Carol I have just told the girls about those 2 young men.  They and I are praying as well.

Al Kettle Fest sounds like a great idea!  Is there a planned program?  Speakers?  Or is it just food and fellowship?

Larry have a good time of rest in Florida,  You will come back refreshed !

Etta Sue I have become very much a "fair weather driver" as well.  I don't like driving at night when it is raining as I can't see the road well.  I don't need glasses to drive yet, and I aim to keep it that way as long as possible.  I am getting used to driving on snow pack again, this is normal for our roads in winter, at least if it is snow pack you know what you have.... with pavemant it could be iced up and not know till you slip.

Janet scrapbooking has really taken off.  We have classes up here for those wanting to learn.  Something I will try soon, just too busy right now.

Jeannine, prayers are with you.  Trust the Lord for strength during this time.

Ruth Anne, It is so good to read your posts, always interesting and informative,  Know that John and I pray for you.  His journeys to the US are now in the past, if we ever come through your area, we will let you know.

Marilyn look for 2 emails.  Have a good weekend!

Everyone else I am praying for each family neeed, May you feel His presence as you go through your weekend.

May God bless you and Keep you.

Judy - it's just food & fellowship.  Sometimes I think there should be at least a little devotional or a couple of songs or something, but it is good to just be together too.

Carol

This sounds like a fussbudget - but I would prefer to cook for myself rather than eating some of the food fixed at our Wednesday night things at church.  It is called Soup Supper here but they plan any meal.  We put money in the pot last time & asked for decaf - none there & no coffee so it goes - the casserole was too spicy for us to eat.  I hope we can do our own cooking in Texas because I sure can't eat mexican food too often.  Now, I am really borrowing troubles.

Jane:  I haven't found out anything about the girl in the car crash yet other than no alcohol was involved.  We don't take the paper & read it online so I haven't gotten that far in the past few days.

Cold outside and the snow isn't falling yet.  I hope Janet is going to be alright with this latest storm.

Thanks to all who prayed for the teen boys.  I don't know them at all but it just saddens the heart.

Carol

Brrr! It's decided to be really wintry here in Nashville today. The sun felt warm when I was out to lunch with my friends, but after I went inside the grocery, the sun decided to hide, and the winds picked up. Wow! it was really c-o-l-d!

My truck ride is ever so much more smooth with those sandbags in the back.  :D

The kids have given me another hockey game ticket tonight, so I'll be leaving here in about 30 minutes to enjoy another evening with them. They're actually going to drive to Dallas this week to see the NHL hockey playoff games. So, you KNOW they're diehard hockey fans.

Thank you, Janet. I appreciate your prayers.

I'd better go bring the rest of the food inside afore it freezes!

Y'all have  a good evening.

Ruth Ann

Thanks, Carol.  I'm fine!  But we may be snowed in if it keeps this up all night.  I was away from home today from 9 until 6, and "broke trail" on our road when I drove home.  Looks as if we've gotten an additional 6-8" of the white stuff.  And there are drifts, but not too bad as yet.  I'm expecting to get a message that there will not be church in the morning---but haven't heard that yet.

Hey, Al!   What is 'desecrable?"  I know it's probably a typo, but haven't been able to figure out what you meant to type.  And, knowing YOU, it's got me curious!  ;)

Ruth Ann, I'm glad you got those sandbags loaded in your truck.  We need you to be safe out there!  I've never ever seen a hockey game.  Well, bits and pieces on tv, but I don't have any idea of the rules and such.  Guess I am "hockey illerate."   :-\

JudyB, glad those nightmares stopped!  I have bad dreams some nights, too, and then wake up feeling vaguely disturbed, and have to try to figure out the reason; then I remember that I had bad dreams.  But I don't usually recall what they were about.

Etta Sue, sometimes it's nice to have a  clear calendar.  Mine is usually pretty cluttered!  :-\

Larry, good to see you checking in.  Have a great vacation and enjoy that lovely weather!

I am finally all caught up on my email and have been to do some reading at SN as well. Busy week for me I put in 28 hours this week with Ruth. Today I took her shopping but I ended up doing the shopping while she waited in the car, then we went to a Mexican place and had chicken enchiladas.

After I got home I walked both dogs and Bill from across the street and I went though all the parts I have received so far for my tent/garage.  They will start getting it put up after he wind settles down.

This morning I got the bottom drawer of my file cabinet cleaned out and  tossed a lot and shredded a lot. I am changing over to another file cabinet as this  pressed wood  one that I have had for years need to go. My pastor gave me a two drawer metal file cabinet when he bought new stuff for his office.

Judy so far I have received one email from you which I responded to.

Pat take it easy my friend, I tried to get you on Skype Wednesday.

Did I tell y-all that I am knitting an afghan. That is a new thing for me since I am usually crocheting. I am also going to make some altar cloths for the church. Another woman is buying the fabric, she said they would be all flannel pastels.  She could net find the burgundy color to match the sanctuary decor.

Well I guess that is it for tonight. Didn't mean for it to be so long.

Good Morning

This is the day that the Lord has made!
Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

The furnace went out during the night and in the schoolroom it is only 40°F! ! Brrrrrrrrcold.

We are off to church.  John has the car running so it will have the chill taken off when we get in.  Our pastors wife has had her baby, a boy, Samuel David.  Nearly 8 pounds.  We are happy for her and Jeff.

Need to run Marilyn I will resend the first email when I get home.

Love abd God's richest blessings to everyone.

Carol

It is snowing and blowing here.  Not too sure if we should try to drive out this morning.  We have plenty of time to think about this and that is good.

Janet:  You are getting more snow than us this time.

Ruth Ann:  I read about your having heavy bags in the back of the truck.  Once, we were stuck at son's mountain cabin on a steep part & driving a Subaru wagon that usually goes anywhere.  Don made me sit in the way back of the wagon - cargo area & we got out - I think I am still mad at him for that one  ;)  I hope your roads stay safe.

Colin:  How are you?  Are you feeling spiffy????

JudyB:  Do hope your furnace problem is only that your wood ran out during the night and nothing more.

Marilyn:  Often think of taking up knitting and crocheting again because it is something that can be doing at nightime.  I do X-stitch but that has to be in daylight for sure.

Counting my blessings today and the more I think about it, the more blessings come to mind.  It is too easy to just let them slide by and not give thanks for these blessings.

Good morning!  Indiana had its first significant snowfall during the night.  I got up, got dreassed for church and out I went.  The snow plow went past my house two times while I was reading my devotions.  The crossroads east of me is the county line.  That county hadn't touch the road nor the highway until I got through Pendleton...about 10miles.  Then I followed a snowplow from there until 8 miles from church.  He was only going 35mph and didn't have the plow down enough to get the snow off and the salt was pouring out...not spraying out!  Then the last 8 miles I was on semi-cleared roads.  I didn't get over 40mph anytime.  I kept thinking, turn around and go back home.  But something kept me going.  Even the parking lot at church was covered.

Both sermons were on 'Who is Jesus?'.  Great sermons.  Scriptures were mostly Acts 2.  Different insight.

I ate at Wendy's and started home.  The roads were much better but patchy.  About the time I got to 50mph, then the road was covered with snow, ice or slush.  Really and truly, my road was the best in all the 25 miles to church and back.

And the snowplow men sure won't want to work this evening when the Colts beat the Pats!  They will....just watch!  I am not even a football fan but I think I will watch tonight!!

Etta Sue---they are now!  I see a big Colts flag waving!  ;)

We found out this morning that a PT Cruiser wasn't made for a snowplow!  We were pushing snow with the bumper all the way out to the highway!  We got stuck twice, but Darrel got us out okay.  And we were really happy, after we got there, that church hadn't been canceled, because we are always blessed for our faithfulness in attending.  (We would have gotten a phone message had it been canceled.  Some of the churches here did cancel.)

The sun is shining now, and the snow is melting.  I hear the constant dripping as it hits the air conditioner in the window.

Al, I know that word!  Now I'm heading to my dictionary to look up 'desecrable.'  You trying to educate us?  ;)

Well, it is NOT in my dictionary.  You sure you spelled it correctly???  :-\

Yes Carol the fire died.  We all were toasty warm in bed and didn't notice that it was out till we were up.

Etta Sue our sermon was on "Who is Jesus" as well but then he deviated and went onto what Church membership is all about.

We went to pick up our water from the young man at church today and had a really good visit.  He is such an amazing person, so on fire for the Lord.  It is a blessing just to watch him.  He doesn't charge us for the water, so this week I will make him a pot of soup, with tea biscuits to go with it.

There seems to be a bug going around in the house, Girls are under the weather today.  It will be a quiet afternoon as we have sent them to bed.

I am off, Dinner is half prepared, just have to add veggies.

Have a God day everyone.

The "T" in F.A.T. is teachable so Faithful, Available and Teachable. God needs F.A.T. people.

Hi, friends,

Well, the Predators won that hockey game, and since Buffalo lost their game with another competitor, this puts our Nashville Predators first in the National Hockey League! I really enjoyed cheering for the team until I went into a very low blood sugar low.

Thank goodness I was with the kids and my daughter's a nurse. So, she had mints in her purse and I ate the only one I had in my pocket at the time. Then we got down the escalator and she knew of a place in the arena where they had chairs, so she and I sat while her boyfriend got his truck and picked us up at the door. By that time, they said my color was coming back and I no longer was staggering when I walked. We sat in his truck until I was stabilized, and then they followed me home.

Yukky! First one of them I've had in ages.

Marilyn, you're a "better man" than I am to be able to keep up with all the things going on in your life!!! Thanks for telling us about F.A.T. - I really appreciate that.

We had such a great worship service this morning. The songs were wonderful and you could really feel the stirrings of the Holy Spirit amongst us. Our church had gotten down so very tiny that some feared we would be closed, but there's a wonderful resurgence of God's love toward us, all ages are now attending, and so very often there are spontaneous testimonies as to God's love and answers to prayer.

We feel it may be helped along by the monthly times we pray for a straight 24-hour period with persons volunteering for one or more one-hour sessions of prayer, solely focused on those requests that have been turned in to the church. Yesterday was one such day, and I had chosen 9 to 10 a.m. Oh, my, how God rains down his blessings when we're obedient.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

Amen Samantha. I am F.A.T for God too.

Ruth Ann Amen to God raining down the blessings when we are obedient. We have one night a month where we just go sit in the church and wait on God for an hour. That will be next friday night the 26th.

On the 10th of next month we are having a Valentine dinner.

Please pray for this area to get a Christian High School. That has been the vision of quite a few people in this area.  There is going to be a meeting out our church tomorrow night. We have provided our building for the committee's meeting.

Oh, dear, Ruth Ann!!  Those blood sugar lows are SO scary.  I'm glad your daughter and her friend took good care of you, and that you are all right now.  Yea for your team!

Yes, God is still in the prayer-answering business!  I'm so thankful, and am attempting to stay in prayer more.  He even honors those quick little "shooting" prayers as we go about our daily lives.  Pray without ceasing...........

I surely hope we don't get stuck again this evening going to or coming from church!  Not in the cold and the dark........  But I believe God will honor us for going and that we will get back home safely.

I'm still stymied about where those photos can have gone!  >:(  I will probably find them sometime when I am not looking for them, but for something else.  I think I will give up on it for the time being.  :(

Later, kiddos.

WAY TO GO, COLTS!!!  My, what an exciting game that was!  We went to church but were home for the second half.  Did you enjoy it, Etta Sue?

Hi Colin!  You get all rested up so you can come talk to us tomorrow!  :)  I sent an email request for a song for you---did they play you one for me?

Time to get off here and get ready for bed and some reading time.

I watched the first half....Colts were way behind.  I just felt that they were going to lose.  Then my Ultimate TV (like TiVo) started recording two shows at 8pm.  It seems that when I am recording two shows, I can't watch a live show.  So I watched Extreme Makeover while it was recording and then The Apprentice.  Boy, was I surprised when I turned to see the last of the game and it was over and the Colts won!

Indianapolis has been so pumped up this week for this game.  I can't imagine how the fans will be for the SuperBowl.  And since they play Chicago, it is a Midwest SuperBowl!

I also noticed that my animations were gone again.  Must be Earthlink.
