Morning Devotional...
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psalm 139:14 KJV
YOUR GREAT BODY
Did anyone ever tell you that you have a great body?
One man tells of visiting a lumberyard to buy posts for a new hammock. "How long will the posts last once they are sunk in the ground?" he asked the clerk.
"Longer than you will," the sales clerk responded.
Another customer who was standing nearby grinned and asked, "Did it ever occur to you that he might be saying that you're not looking all that well?"
Whether you look or feel all that well, you DO have a great body. Did you know
that...
Today --
Your heart will likely beat over 100,000 times?
Your blood will travel about 168,000 miles?
You will breathe about 23,000 times?
You will eat over three pounds of food?
You will drink three pounds of liquids?
You will turn in your sleep 25-30 times?
You may speak about 48,000 words?
You will use some 7,000,000 brain cells?
You see? You have a GREAT body! It is a miraculous machine. It runs on peanuts and even regenerates itself. With good care, your great body can serve you for years to come.
But, it will occasionally get sick or run down. Especially if you neglect it. So it pays to take care of this marvelous machine. Repairs are expensive and used parts are hard to come by.
Today... what will you do for yourself? Will you pick up that exercise regimen you may have put off? Will you choose sensible foods and get enough rest? Will you treat your body as the friend it really is?
Do it today -- for a great future!
At the beginning of a new year, are we thinking about how very marvelous and intricate our human bodies are? Or are we looking in the mirror and bemoaning the fact that we put on a few pounds over the holidays? Yes, we need to take care of our bodies, of course we do, but we also need to take the time to thank God for making us.
Have you ever thought of the many things our bodies cast off or heal themselves from, without any conscious thought from us? Have you thanked your Father for protecting you from the thousands of ailments you DIDN'T get?
Let's take time this week, not only to make wise choices in eating, exercise, and thoughts, but to be aware of the wonderful temples He gave us to live in while we are on this earth, and to give Him our wholehearted praise. He is infinitely wise and unfailingly loving. What an awesome God we serve!

Janet, as I was reading your devotional, my mind raced back to the day in 1981 when I was having my first heart catharization test. They were so certain I had blockages that they had already placed me first on the surgery schedule for the next day.
Well, I was freezing because the room we were in for the test was really cold, as are most surgery settings. As the dye was administered and the warmth of the dye began to course through my veins, I remembered my studies of the circulatory system - first the heat was in my head, then traveled down the right side and into the right leg, following on to the left leg and back up.
It was an awe-inspiring moment! And, I told the doctor of my experience and asked if she was going to do the injection of dye again. She laughed and said that no one had EVER asked her that question before - usually the warmth of the dye frightened them. Then, I quoted the verse, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made..." and, as I was quoting it, she finished up with me.
What a great experience to remember. (And, I had NO blockages - so I'm really, really thankful.)

I am back home again in Indiana. Tra la la la la!! Whew! I think I am getting too old to be in that pace all the time. Five kids in the house all doing their own thing. But the reason for going to Ohio was to attend two Baby Showers. All I can say right now is this new G-grandson of Ivalou's has everything he needs and more and he is still in the womb!!
I am tired so I won't comment on everyone's post. Just that I will be glad to be in my own bed tonight. (^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)

Hi, all.
Pat, I enjoyed your pictures on your blogspot. Your New Planet is so cool.
I wrote to you about posting comments for those who aren't blogspotters. :)
It's still really cold here. I thought the snow might melt today, but what snow we have is hanging on and ice is staying frozen.
Jane, do you still have snow over there? You have lots of wood, don't you?
The electrician got the new wiring put in upstairs, and I found some carpeting I like and have that now. My son has to put up the sheet rock, we paint, and lay carpet. Then Sue can have her room back. The carpet color is Irish Isle. You might know it's a real pretty green. :)
I've never heard of WD40 for arthritis, but I'll tell my sister. I smell like Vicks sometimes. I might has well add a fragrance of WD40. lol
It's fun reading all the comments. Nita
What an interesting devotional, Janet! "Fearfully and wonderfully Made" is the title of a great book by a Christian doctor. Each time my Dad had surgery, he gave the surgeon a copy of this book. And he prayed before doing it that the surgeon would accept it with the love and care that my father had in giving it.
Ruth, I know that feeling. Back in the early 1980's, I was being treated for chronic pain and part of the treatment was chloroprocane by I.V. and I had a similar experience every week as it travelled through my body.
Welcome home, Etta Sue.
Thanks Nita for your email. I will open it again to Anonymous posters and see if the pornos will stay away. I've deleted a few posts this past week so closed it to Anonymous posters because of that.
Morning All,
I figured I'd better get in now and catch up on the reading. It is raining here and it's freezing on everything. I'm hoping we don't lose power for Michael's sake due to all his equipment.
Welcome home Etta Sue! Glad you made it safe and sound. <3
Hi Pat ~ the phrase is special to me because of Michael, he is "fearfully and wonderfully made!" And God knows the reasons and his purpose in our lives!
Hi to everyone! 8) I pray everyone has a God filled and blessed day!
TTYL i hope!

Not many posts since I last posted but then it was rather late when I posted last!
I woke to much, much rain and ponds and puddles. West of me where there is always a lake after it rains, the water is right at the edge of the road. I don't believe I have ever seen it that high since living here. And there is water standing where I turn to go into my garage. Sooooo much water. And the sump pump is turning on about every 4-5 minutes due to water seeping through the walls of the basement. Whew! Enough is enough.
And I am sorry...I know that others in this nation are suffering more due to their weather. Snow, ice, cold. Here it is 41°F and very, very wet!! So really I have nothing to complain about.
I am planning to take my cordless drill to Ivalou's today. She received an under the counter radio/CD player but doesn't have a drill to install it. So maybe two heads and four hands can get the job done.
Then it is veg out in front of the TV. Behind 8 hours of TV shows since I was gone this weekend. Some I may delete...some just listen to while I do something else, like the Gaithers. ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

:)Morning Y'all!!
It's a new week and just want to say "HI" to everyone, so "HI"!
Later,
Samantha :D
Good Morning.
I woke early this morning as has a test at the hospital to get to before work. I had to leave much extra time to get there as winter in Southern Ontario is making itself known with freezing rain. Many buses and schools were cancelled. My parents have a day off as a result. I didn't see any accidents on my way and was thankful for that, although many were announced on the radio. Everything that I experienced was slow and careful and lots of space between vehicles. Now I must get busy and get on with my work day.
Good morning! It seems after several unusually mild years, Old Man Winter is having his cold blast. It is ONE DEGREE F here, so I doubt I will spend much time outdoors today. :)
Nita, that is so interesting about your feeling the dye going through your system. I had that dye once, when I lost a kidney, but I was too sick to feel what it was doing. Glad you didn't have any blockages!
Pat, I enjoyed looking at the photos on your blog, or PDA. Very nice!
Sue, so happy you got safely to work. Driving on ice is so treacherous! And I'm sure your parents will enjoy a day off.
Etta Sue, are you going to need to invest in a rowboat? ;) Stay warm and dry, will you?
I need to rework my presentation for the lions club, so be back later!
Hello all! I was thinking about you last night and decided to pop in and say hi! Kristi is growing like a little weed, and is learning to talk-- she tries to say everything big brother says. It is hard to believe that she will be two in about 3 weeks. . .
Travis turned 5 last week. He is starting to really grow up. He is playing Upward Basketball this year. I was afraid his "shyness" (of which he has plenty) would keep him from going out on the court, but Saturday morning, he just went out there like a pro. Of course, he thinks he is a pro. :)
Bernard is still working alot, though it has slowed down a little in the past few weeks. I'm still running thirty directions west of Wednesday, but am learning some time management skills. Actually, it is probably more accurate to say I am *implementing* some time management skills.
Hope all is going well for you. I'm not in here much, but I do think of you frequently. Take care.
Love,
Karma
Good morning I have been to Curves and now I am ready for work. Ruth wants me to take her to the Casino toady for some gambling. I do not gamble and I told her that. She wants my help to put the money in the machines as she is legally blind and can't see to do it herself. I have been praying about this situation and it is not something that I care to put myself into. I am prayed up if I can't change her mind to go some place else. Keep me in your prayers today PLEASE!! Cover me with the blood of Jesus, I don't want anything negative to latch on to me.
Hi Karma good to see you hear again.
Everyone have a great day.
Ruth Ann It is interesting that you had that experience. My last test not like yours, was not so pleasant. Rhe results turned out good though.
It is snowing here today, cold too. Schools are in today and the south is on a snow day, That is unusual. Usually it is the other way around. That is good for your mom and dad Sue. Tell your Mom she is missed on CP.
Well the pastor's baby in not born yet. We are praying all will be well. She was due on the 11th, I know that the last month seems to never end.
Janet I enjoyed the devotional. I am teaching those facts to the girls in Health, and they are memorizing the verse Ruth Ann quoted. It is a marvelous verse.
Marilyn you are in a difficult spot. I am not sure what I would do. Off the cuff I would refuse, but if your job would be in jeopardy then it would be hard to make that call. Do you have a mandated list of responsibilities? If so see if you can refuse because it isn't on the list? I know of Christians who gamble, but I don't..... Will be praying.
Karma enjoy these days with your little ones......they pass so quickly.
I am sorry if I have missed anyone, just know I am praing for each of you.
Blessings JudyB
Janet, I think it was Ruth Ann with the dye experience. :)
Pat, I sent you another email. I found that I can post to your blog. I'm sorry about the porn stuff that's been posted. No wonder you don't want to have a way for an anonymous posting.
I do believe we might thaw out today. Nita
Nita, you are absolutely right! :-[ Just chalk it up to brain overload. I was trying to hurry so I would have time to work on my notes. Or maybe you were thinking of me just then?!? ;)
We are clear up to 15 degrees now, from 1 when I first turned on my computer this morning. A real heat wave!! ^-^
Judy, the entire verse is at the beginning of the devotional today. ;) Stay warm!
Hi, friends,
I'm enjoying a laid-back day at home. And, since the temperatures are supposed to drop 40 degrees today, I'm glad I'm here, not out in the weather. It's raining a very cold rain, but should stop before the frigid air reaches us, so maybe driving will be safe tomorrow.
Sue, I agree - slow and easy with lots of room between vehicles is the only way to get around in icy conditions.
Y'all have a nice afternoon.
Ruth Ann
Praise the Lord is didn't have to go to the casino. after all. Her son took her last evening.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
[/glow][/color]
A wonderful devotional, Janet! I love reading statistics about the operation of the human body as it leaves me in even greater awe of our Creator. It's good too, to care for the precious recourse of our bodies. My close call with death on a number of occassions has made me very aware of the need to tend to our bodies as an important responsibility.
We are in the midst of school holidays with the school year starting on the 30th January - so I have been very busy with the children.
Marilyn, in last week's thread you had asked what was wrong with me after I said that I had only just started to drive again - well, in early December, I suddenly felt very weak and almost fainted while shopping. For the next three weeks I was in bed as I was extremely dizzy and my arms and legs were heavy. My doctor thought my heart was playing up but blood and other tests came back all clear. Whatever happened was very debilatating and it has taken the last two months to get back to normal. I'm just about better now. :) Praise God!
It's great to read all your posts and to enjoy the family atmosphere!
See you soon, love :)

Jane, do you still have snow over there? You have lots of wood, don't you?
Yup, Nita ... Lots of snow fell here last week and then froze! We have had freeze warnings ever since so ice is still plentiful in my yard!... Ice spots on the road too, so I stay home as much as possible. It has warmed up today (40º on my porch), though so more has melted ... still frozen snow in the shade, however. :-\
As for wood ... I still have plenty. I've had a fire going day and night for a week so the wood pile is dwindling but I have friends who say to let them know whenever I need more wood ... they have a good supply since the trees were cleared off the hillside and around their place. :)
I have not been doing much of anything lately except trying to stay warm. Also, since there's a fire going all the time, I have to dust more often .... the joys of having wood to burn. :-\
My neighbors are home from their motorhome trip to Arizona. I told them I didn't expect them back until the snow melted, but they said they were watching the weather reports and saw a windoo of opportunity when the roads were clear so they took off! I was watching their place and picking up their mail for them while they were away so ...... it's nice to have them back! :)
Gotta get to gettin' so I won't comment further ... just know that I'm over here in the corner listening to everything! :D
Pssst--hey, everybody, be careful what you say; Jane is listening to EVERTHING we say in here! :D Jane, good to have you come out of your corner and talk to us a bit.
Ruth Ann, sorry I called you Nita earlier. That isn't a bad thing, though---Nita's neat! Just a mistake on my part. Glad you're getting your house repaired.
It's back down to 1 degree here in my corner of Kansas. Poor Oklahoma is really getting beaten up this winter, isn't it? My goodness.
Karen, good to see you back again! I've missed you. I can imagine how busy your household is when school is out of session.
Karma, how nice to have you pop in and fill us in on your little ones. Hard to believe Kristi is nearly two already!! How time flies!
See you later!
Morning All,
Our "Ice Storm" is over. We got between a quarter and a half an inch of ice depending on where you lived. We also made it through with out losing power,
God is so good. He knew we couldn't get anywhere with Michael if there were an emergency and took care of it. The car is still at the garage and the guy is dragging his feet. So God took care of us yesterday.
Now we are getting snow. Oh well, we knew winter would make a comeback, just not when.
I pray everyone has a God filled and blessed day! TTYL
<><Jeannine
Hi everyone. I didn't make it here again yesterday so wanted to get the day started right and at least make a small posting before leaving for the morning.
We are among the fortunate weatherwise as it was about 70 degrees here again yesterday. Today is suppose to be cooler and I see they are now predicting we will get below freezing by Wednesday night. However, we have nothing to complain about.
Janet, I liked your devotional and it is a good reminder.
Ruth Ann, I can certainly related to your dye experience. I have had many heart caths over the last 20 years and remember those feelings from the early days. It didn't take long to circulate the dye. In recent years I have no memory of that experience as they give you a drug to make you forget the experience. I always liked to watch the monitor and see the heart beating. What a marvel is the heart and our entire body.
Marilyn, it obviously wasn't met for you to go to the casino and I am glad you didn't have to do so.
Jeannine, I am sure you could get emergency help if you lost power. Just glad you didn't have to face that problem.
Janet, I have been watching the weather and we have talked to Pat's sister and know it is very cold back there.
Jane, it has been a long time since I felt a wood fire. Glad you are staying warm.
A special hi to all those posting that I have run out of time to comment to this morning. It is time for me to leave.
Hi All.
Didn't want to get up today our bed was so warm. My face and nose were icicles!
Jane I know about dust from burning wood. But the warmth from a wood fire is great. We have a wood furnace, and the dust is throughout the house. The girls love using the swiffer and I let them go to it.
About a week ago there was a bad NW wind and it blew our outdoor thermometer down and it broke. We need to pick up a new one. I almost rather not know how cold it is. Let it suffice to say that it is 50*F in the house right now.
We have our womens meeting tonight. It is revealing week, where we get our new secret sisters. I enjoy this aspect of womens ministry. It is fun to make something or buy little things for someone anonomously. The girls have been involved as well.
Well I must go, John needs the phone. We are looking at the cost of getting a dedicated line for the puter. Not having one is really a handicap.
Have a good day everyone. God bless you all.
JudyB
My weather thing on my computer says it is still -2 here, but the one below my last posting says it is 9 degrees. Whichever, it is really cold! Our water froze off last night in the north part of the house, in my studio and bathroom, and Darrel's sink in what we call our "canning kitchen" in the north end of the garage. I just hope none of the pipes burst. :-\
Larry, I think I will come down your way and see if I can get warmed up! ;) We still have line crews here from other areas, working to restore the power to the people who live miles out in the country. God bless those men, they deserve a medal for their hard work and dedication.
Jeannine, are there provisions for help for your family in emergency situations, since you have Michael? I hope so! I know sometimes it is really difficult to get to those who need help, but cases like yours should get priority. I'm glad you didn't lose power this time!
I'm not sure what will be on my agenda for today, but there is always something needing done!
Good Morning Hey Janet I forgot to say yesterday that I like your devotional, the stats are interesting.
I got my Cholesterol down to 195, this time last year it was 255, I am off the Niacin for 3 months to see if I can keep it down with diet, exercise and the product. My doctor also has some of the product.
My Yahoo temperature widget says it is 31° hereIt is about time for me to go out and uncover the windsheild. Tonight it is supposed to :rain:
Later y-all

JudyB ~ You say it is 50°F in your house!!! I am a very hot natured gal but 50°F is too cold for me when I am in the house. My thermostat is set at 69° and my electric fireplace will get it up to 71°F and I still sit and watch TV with an afghan over me. Brrrr!
I saw some of the ice storm on TV last evening. Finally they said it was in Dallas, Texas!!
A day makes a big difference. Yesterday was raining and flooding and above freezing. Today it is snowing and freezing...21°F. And today is Euchre day so I have to get out in it. I also need to go to the drug store and the grocery store so I best get busy and get out of here!
Have a great day, y'all...that's in honor of Karma and Nards! Glad you dropped in and gave us info about the family. Can't believe Trav is FIVE!!!a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m.

HOW YOU'RE LIKE A PENCIL
Did you know that you are like a pencil? Here's how:
1. Like a pencil, you can correct your mistakes. You can't
change the past, but you can rectify it. And though you
can't erase history, you can erase guilt and anger with
forgiveness.
2. Like a pencil, painful sharpening can serve to make you
better. Your difficult times can actually sharpen your
skills or shape you into the person you were meant to be.
3. Like a pencil, you can do great things when you allow
yourself to be held in Someone's hand.
4. Like a pencil, you can leave your mark whenever possible.
That is what you're here for -- to leave your mark. It may
be in small ways, it may be in the lives of people you have
touched or nurtured, but you must leave something good
behind whenever you can.
5. Like a pencil, it is what is on the inside that matters.
Whether it is understanding or intolerance, love or
bitterness, peace or unrest, kindness or self-centeredness,
hope or despair, courage or fear, what is on the inside
matters most.
Next time you use a pencil, pause and think about that little writing
tool. It teaches some great lessons about living.
_
Had a wonderful morning where I drove to a house where a gal handed me three beautiful quilt tops for our trip to Texas and then asked me to stay while she wrote a check for $200 for our quilt group. Such a neat experience. I took it right over to church to put in the safe.
Janet: Yes, I am taking it easy but it sure is hard to not move or lift too much - taking Ibuprophen every 4 hours. Gee, I just dislike these age problems so much.
Al: In our house, we grew up "listening" to how motors and gears sounded - daughter of a diesel engineer so we knew when anything needed oil - the staff of life to some things.
Larry: Have a great trip to Florida. It is freezing there now but I hope where you are going it will be warmer.
Carol
Carol I have sent you an email.
QuoteNext time you use a pencil, pause and think about that little writing
tool. It teaches some great lessons about living.
And then, after you've done that - get the lead out!
Aaawwwww AL!! :clobber:
Al, I must disagree. In the case of the pencil parable, if you get the "lead out", you're done for until you get some lead in again.  :uglystupid:  <3
She's got you there, Al!
This has been a strange day, in that I haven't left the house all day!! Very unusual, for me, but sort of nice, too. I enjoy being home with my sweetie. But tomorrow I must get out and do some errands.
No thawing around here today, and sounds as if there won't be for a couple more days, at least.
Carol, what a blessing you had today! God is so neat, isn't He? I do hope your aches and pains go away quickly, before you head to Texas. Not fun to travel while you are hurting.
Hi, friends,
I had to take a quick little trip for an appointment in Bowling Green, KY (that's maybe 65-70 miles from my house) this afternoon, so am just now getting on the computer.
Brrr - supposed to be really chilly here in Nashville - low 20's, but sounds like Janet and her folk (and Judy B and her family) are really getting hit with difficult weather.
Y'all have a good evening.
Ruth Ann
Morning All,
Loved the pencil parable, it is true, and so is the banter it generated. Sure glad we are all on the same "wavelength".
Carol ~ sure hope you feel much better soon, aches and pains are no fun.
Ruth Ann ~ it's kind've cold here too. 12*F
Hi to everyone else who will post today.
God surely is good. You wouldn't think losing your home to foreclosure would be a good thing. That was almost 2 years ago. We are with my parents who are getting up there in age and their health isn't the greatest, ma has dementia and dad is starting to get forgetful. Any ways, Frank is sober 22 months now and that is a blessing. To get to the point though, there was a train derailment here in East Rochester, NY tues night. The debree (sp) field was 3 - 4 blocks long and we lived in the area where it happened. Praise God no one was injured but there was damage to the overpass, and cars. 600 people were without power too. SO, even if we don't know the reasons right away, God surely lets us know sooner or later that it was His plan for whatever happens to us.
I pray everyone has a God filled and blessed day!
<><Jeannine
A quick update on the weather. Reports say it is to be -30*C That is about -22*F or so. Brrrrr cold. Thankfully we have the car plugged in and lots of wood, (I have to feed the shark soon too!), and we will be fine. It is the mornings that I really feel it.
It is late,,,,rather early AM and I am tired. I just finished a project for John that he needs tomorrow, Or today depending on how you look at it!
At anyrate, I am talking jibberish, (Colin or Pat what is the Irish word for that?) so it is off to feed the furnace and then to bed.
G'night all, or good morning..................
Wow, Judy, you have the record cold, I think! BRRRR! It is a bit warmer, er, less cold here today, 16* a bit ago. I'm glad I don't have to feed a furnace or a wood burning stove. We have propane, which makes the windows really streaky and leaves a film on stuff, so it's a cleaning problem, but at least I don't have to carry in wood. God bless you and Jane. I do love the smell of a wood fire, though. (Is that the cave man in us?) ;)
Jeannine, it does sound as if God has you right where you need to be. I'm glad you had no damage from the derailment. That was a really spectacular fire, I saw it on TV.
Ruth Ann, glad you're safely home from your little jaunt. Prayers for you continue, my dear Sister. ((((hugs))))
My sweet daughter Diane is coming up this morning, and we are going shopping together---in the big city of Ulysses!! ^-^ She should be arriving any moment, so I'd best get off here and be ready to depart. See you later.
Wellllll, Nita, I do indeede want to watch you do this little task of getting the lead back into a pencil. At least it would be the write move.
Hello everyone!
I read the posts and am laughing and praying where appropriate. I've been quite busy lately, as usual. So, like others, I'm here in the corner listening. ;) Even if I don't always have time to reply to everyone or anyone.
I'm going to use the devotional with my Jr. Higher as part of the human body unit we're working on. It is truly amazing how our bodies work! My oldest daughter just says it's gross and gets light-headed when we study things like the organs, muscles and nerves, etc...
Well, better go refill my :coffee: and get our school day going. We're starting late because we had to pick my mom up from the airport late last night. She's finally home after a month long visit to California, where I grew up.
Blessings,
Kathleen
Runnig through here on my way out the door. Been to Curves now on to my Tai Chi class, I haven't been there in awhile. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
:coffee: Sipping coffee here & I just made a chart for weight, blood pressure and actually dared to use a tape measure.....what happened to that slim girl? Must be gravity.
Jeannine: How wonderful of you to see the good in the experience of a forced move. Not many people weather those storms. Our family did & it has been about 15 years now and we always give thanks for the fact that we were young enough to find our way back to a more normal life but the most important thing was how it drew the children closer and they are best friends (except for oldest son and daughter) but I am sure there are plans for them at some point. I am so glad that you didn't lose your power. Do you think it might be good to get a generator for emergency need?
JudyB: That is high county temperatures in your area - or Minnesota. What a job to keep enough wood to heat the house.
Marilyn: I will check email next. Stay warm and dry out there!
Carol
Carol and Janet, I we get the wood in and store it in the basement. It is something we work on as a family. A little togetherness. It is not too much of a problem feeding the shark, just sometimes neeeds to be done more often than other times. Up till about a 2 weeks ago we lit the fire twice a day and that was enough to keep us comfortable. Thankfully we have had a very mild winter to that point. Unusually mild, which helped many with their heating costs. I too love the smell of wood, but with the wood furnace you don't get the smell, just the comfort of its warmth. I have found the wood to heat much more effectively than the oil we use when we are gone.
I got a huge project done for John last night. Since I have slept I will call it last night. He didn't think it would be done, and weas pleased when it was. He is off to Head Office today and tomorrow. A little different when he is gone not like when he was driving and gone all the time. I am so happy those days are finished.
Elizabeth is Hopping today. She has worked hard at completing her math level and today starts on the next. That puts her and Kassie into the same grade. I didn't know a kid could be so excited about math! <3
Well I have to go, will be back later.
Judy
If anyone looks in between now and 4m pst. Please pray for Willa at 4PM pst. She is having the other breast removed. Thanks in advance.
You got it, Marilyn ... Give Willa my love if you should get to see her. <3
Thanks Jane <3 I will do that, She remembers you. <3
Hi, friends,
I worked on some difficult, at times confusing projects today. Am trusting God for clarity of mind tomorrow.
All these cold weather temps being reported are, to quote us Suthiners, "sumpin' ELSE!" :o
Y'all have a good evening.

I have notice that some of you are using * for ° when telling us the temperature. You can make ° by depressing the Alt key, hold it down and the depress 0176 on your calculator numbers on your keyboard.
Alt+0176 = °. Does that help anyone?
I left home this morning at 9am to go to Nancy and Walter's. She got a new laptop and wanted me to help her with some things. She wanted SpellCheck to work on Outlook Express. I got that for her after we install Microsoft Office from a CD. And showed her the shortcuts by using Ctrl + A, S, Z, X, C, V, B, U, I, O, Y, P and F. Now she is all set. Then we all ate at Mountain Mike's Steak House and then I drove them to Indiana University for Walter's Speech Therapy. Then I drove them back and came home. Got home at 9pm. So I had a 12-hour day and I am tired. Time for bed.>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<

I'm coming in before I head to bed.
Lets all be sure and pray for Audra tomorrow as she has her surgery. And, of course, for Alma, as she waits and waits and waits.
Alma, we have our arms around you. Nita
Morning All,
Carol ~ Getting a generator is a good idea but as with everything else, no money. In that category, things have been very rough. We finally got the mechanic to tell us that he wants $400 up front before he touches the car and then doesn't gaurentee that. The car just isn't worth that and we already sunk $300 into it and it didn't do any good. So, for the moment, still no car. :ticked: :-[
Marilyn ~ just read about the surgery, to late to do that part but not to late to pray that everything went alright and she is recuperating.
Kathleen ~ she'll get over the "gross" part and will appreciate it as she gets older. I did, I even at one point thought being a medical artist would be so cool until I found out I would have to observe surgeries and autopsy's, now that is really "gross". :o
Etta Sue ~ Thanks for the info on how to put the degree sign in, right now on our porch it is 8°F ;)
Ok, time to get busy with Michael, Hi to everyone and I pray you all have a God filled and blessed day! <3 and I mean everyone!
<><Jeannine
Please pray for our members across the Atlantic.

Gosh, it doesn't seem like a very long time since I last posted. In fact, it hasn't been.
I had a great night's sleep and now I am catching up on the computer and I go to the Urologist at 1pm. I went a day late last week... :'(
I also called my auto mechanic and I am to call him back in a few minutes so he can tell me what a module and labor will cost so the fan on my heater/AC will work on all 5 speeds. I noticed it only works on 4 & 5 yesterday! Edit: Just called. Not bad...$75. That's almost pocket change lately! :o
Kitty is back in Ohio. Her birthday is Monday and I called for reservations at a 'Tea in the Country' restaurant. But I called this morning and cancelled. Her son-in-law is in very painful pain in his back. No injury and they can't find out what is wrong. He went to ER last night so hopefully they ran him through the wringer and found out what is wrong. Kitty is worried that it is his heart. Pain between his shoulder blades and arm. Hurts to even lift a coffee cup. So if you would, would you send some prayers heavenward for Kitty and Greg and Greg's wife, Julie and the little kids.
God Bless You All!(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fhome.earthlink.net%2F%7Eettasue9842%2Fsitebuildercontent%2Fsitebuilderpictures%2Ffootprints.gif&hash=67151ef50337a7e7c647a88407195b4e8184cf60)

Thursday already! How fast the days fly past, and I must be about finding photos to use in my portrait class coming up the first part of February.
We attended our Emmaus Reunion meeting last night in Lakin. On the way home, we must have seen at least 200 jack rabbits! :o For about ten years, there were almost none around here, now they are getting thick again. Not as many as in the 50s, but LOTS! And along with that, the coyotes are making a comeback, lots of rabbits to eat. Someone from on up North a ways told Darrel last night that a friend of his counted 80 deer in the corner of a field, eating hay that was left after they picked up the stacks of bales. The deer are becoming quite a road hazard here. They were speculating as to how this long cold spell, along with the ice, will affect the ringnecked pheasant population, too. Okay, enough of the wildlife. (What a wild life!) ;)
I am picking up two elderly friends this afternoon and taking them to a funeral. Beth said the Home will take her and Gloria, so now I can take the other ladies.
Etta Sue, thanks for the degree sign. I learned that on Sr. Net years ago, but forgot how to do it. How on earth do people remember all that stuff, anyway? How do you? :-\ By the way, I love the little "mouse trampoline!" :)
Gotta run!
Good Morning, cute graphic Etta sue. Hello Janet have a safe trip to the funeral. It is pretty icy here too this morning, my grass just crunches and leaves my footprints looking like melted green stuff.
Happy is outside and I keep trying to get him to come in but he doesn't want to. I noticed when he did come in that he was limping from the cold. He laid on his bed for a little while and I covered him with his blanket to get him warm, but he got up instead and wanted back out. I am giving him stuff for his joints every day on his food. <3
I went to recycle yesterday and took two big garbage bags of packing peanuts. They sure seem to accumulate when you are getting so many packages. The recycling place sells them for $12.00 per bag, The bags are smaller than the one I took to them.
Gradually all the parts for my tent/garage are getting here, the last thing I am waiting for are three more connecting brackets that they didn't send in the package I got yesterday, they only sent one. I have had to call them after every shipment and ask them where are the rest of the parts and order the stuff they didn't send. This has been going on since the windstorm blew it over. :clobber: :ticked:
Our friends across the pond are really getting battered by the gale force winds and driving rain.
Gotta go now
Etta Sue You had a busy day yesterday. Thank you too for the degree sign. You told me that once before, but with my brain I forget easily.
Not too bad for temperature today. It is -3°C That I can handle. Etta Sue it worked, but I am not adept at playing twister! :D
John will be home later tonight. I will make soup for dinner and that way it will be easily reheatable.
Marilyn praying for your friend. Everyone drive safely.
Well back to work, be back later.
JudyB
Hello all! cold outside today in Western North Carolina, but not nearly as cold as some of ya'll! :)
We're just hanging out today to see what the weather is going to do.
Pat, what is the address to your blog? I want to add it to my links on mine.
Take care all, and whether you take the lead out, or put the lead in, take time to love someone unlovable today.
Good Morning from a wet, cold, weather challenged island. Each day is also a 'people challenge.'
Interesting posts and they have helped to pass the time, since walking outside is a slippery and dangerous adventure these days. Love your graphics, Etta Sue. I am beginning to experience cabin fever, only going out if riding in a vehicle. Snow and ice and wet rain.....have to literally toss Misty outside for her dose of fresh air. She is beginning to think of me as her enemy ::)
Loved the 'pencil' posts. Someone once wrote that we should only make our plans in pencil because God has a way of changing and erasing them. ;)
Here is something to ponder:
Subject: Today's English Class
If you've learned to speak fluent English, you must be a genius!
Reasons why the English language is so hard to learn:
1) The bandage was wound around the wound.
2) The farm was used to produce produce.
3) The dump was so full that it had to refuse more refuse.
4) We must polish the Polish furniture.
5) He could lead if he would get the lead out.
6) The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.
7) Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to
present the present..
8) A bass was painted on the head of the bass drum
9) When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes.
10) I did not object to the object.
11) The insurance was invalid for the invalid.
12) There was a row among the oarsmen about how to row.
13) They were too close to the door to close it.
14) The buck does funny things when the does are present.
15) A seamstress and a sewer fell down into a sewer line.
16) To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow.
17) The wind was too strong to wind the sail
18) After a number of injections my jaw got number.
19) Upon seeing the tear in the painting I shed a tear.
20) I had to subject the subject to a series of tests
21) How can I intimate this to my most intimate friend?
There is no egg in eggplant, nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in
pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in
France (Surprise!). Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't
sweet, are meat.
Quicksand works slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither
from Guinea nor is it a pig. And why is it that writers write but fingers
don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham?
If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth, beeth? One
goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? Doesn't it seem crazy that you can
make amends but not one amend. If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get
rid of all but one of them, what do you call it? Is it anodd, or an end?
If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats
vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? In what language do people recite
at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have
noses that run and feet that smell?
How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a
wise guy are opposites? You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a
language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill
in a form by filling it out, and in which, an alarm goes off by going on.
English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the
creativity of the human race, which, of course, is not a race at all. That
is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are
out, they are invisible.
:)
Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.
Liz

Isn't English a confusing language at times. You really have to look at it all in context to understand it.
Back from walking the dogs and have folded the laundry. Nothing else is interesting from my neck of the woods.
I saw Al and Marbeth at the senior Center in Arcata today. Marbeth as usual was working in Kathy's Krafter's sorting quilt blocks. Then I saw Al a little later standing in line for something or other. Give him a big hug and then he took it back, so I gave him another one. I called him "old man" on the first one, Pastor Al on the second one.
Marilyn, I'm glad you're there to keep Al on his toes. ;D He needs you to help sharpen his wits. (or is it WIT? And what's the difference?)
No word from Alma, I guess. I'm sure this is one of the hardest days of her life.
It's warming up here. No ice on the ground today. My car was iced over, but quickly melted. The ice, not my car.
I'll check in later. Nita
Marilyn, that's not true. You took it back, so then I gave it back - and then you took it again. I don't know who has it now.
Liz- that's great about English. Wow! And we think Chinese is hard!
It has stayed so cold here all day, and of course, since night has arrivied, it's getting even colder! Brrrrr! I don't want to venture out, but we have a meeting to attend, so out we go!
I will try to check in again in the morning.
Liz--thanks---I enjoyed that. And I hope your weather soon gets warmer and drier!!
Hi, friends,
I'm glad to hear from all of you. I got in late because I had to stop and get cat food and a bit of other food (for people!).
So, not a lot to say, but wanted y'all to know I'm here and I care.
Ruth Ann
John is home. He had a good time at his meetings.
It is late and I want to turn in early.
Gord if you look in and see this ......Don't give up.....Keep praying God will show you where you are to be. His work is there just needs to be revealled.
Pat where are you??
Colin where are you too? Miss your poems and jokes!!
Night all remember I am praying for each of you.
JudyB
Hi folks!
Sorry about my "invisibleness"! HAHAHA! I've actually been "meeting'ed out" this week and so many appointments and tonight I spent about 2 1/2 hours trying to help Norm McKenna get hooked up to the internet as he hadn't been able to get online since Judy went into the hospital back in November. I re-booted everything and of course the system was so much different from mine and I'm NOT a computer techie person. Anyway, I found a very thin wire not plugged in and "Voila!" all started to work!
Oh, the hundreds of emails we downloaded!
And I spent several hours in the vet office. I was early for my appointment but another dog had been hit by a car and the two vets and staff on duty were trying to work with that dog to save it and the family owning the dog were in the waiting room weeping and my goodness it was a traumatic scene. Not sure how that turned out.
Last night I had TWO meetings--one was from 6 pm to 8 pm and the other was from 7:30 pm to 9:30 so I left the first one a few minutes early arriving at the second one a few minutes late! Late night home too.
Today also is the day I give my friend's mother her chemo injection so spent time there too and ended up driving her to a lab for blood tests.
So, as you can see, busy, busy, busy!
I was hoping to be able to spend some time in here this evening but plans had to change for me when Norm called and asked for help.
Speaking of Judy McKenna, she's in the Guelph General Hospital confined to her room and can't have any visitors due to an outbreak of the Norwalk Virus. So she's pretty bored let me tell you. Poor Judy is having so much trouble with her hip. It keeps dislocating and she's in sheer agony and terror when this happens and they have to give her a general anesthetic to put it back in. So please remember Judy in your prayers.
Well, it's 1:15 am and I must try to get some sleep.
I hope that you have had a look at my "Photo-A-Day Project" that there's a link for in my signature.
Kind of fun to try to keep it up. I know that Nita has been to visit. If you have a gmail.com account, you can register with that an post.
Hi....dont worry, I have been around keepimg my eye on you all....smiling at your jokes and praying for those who need prayer...I take a pencil to bed with me each night...just to draw the curtains! :uglystupid:
I did notice that JudyB wanted to know what the Irish for jibberish was....I dont really know.... being an Ulster Scot who was born and lives in Ireland but is not Irish but goes along being called Irish just for an easy life! And you think the English lanauage is hard to understand! Let me see now...jibberish...gibberish...baloney..bahoughey.. balderdash..gorbage...there are more but I just cant think of them at the moment.
I had to go yesterday morning to get a blood sample taken and not to be eating any breakfast. I went into the surgery and the nurse asked...did you come fasting...and I told her I came as fast as I could :idiot: She started to explain what she meant and then she realised I was joking. I was trying to be light hearted to cover my nervousness....I hate needles! She came with this armband thing and I said..good..you are going to blindfold me. We had a good bit of banter and my ordeal became a more joyful occasion.
I wish I could answer you all each but I have not the time...will call by later.
Hey all, It is a snowy day here, we had a bit of excitement when the snow plow came by. Because we live in the "boonies" we seldom tie our dogs. Problem is they take great delight chasing the snow plow. I think they are trying to tell the snow plow operator that they do not want our snow taken....it belongs to us! Krazy animals. They would llick you to death, given the chance, Dana has a soft and gentle tongue. barely feel her licks.
I have had an email from Holland "THE STORM WAS SO TERRIBLE
6 PEOPLE ARE DEAD IN HOLLAND AND A LOT IN HOSPITAL TROUGH THE WEATHER A LOT TREES ARE FALLEN DOWN. ALSO TODAY TRAINS ARE NOT RUNNING" Pray for our brothers and sisters in Europe. I saw on the news the devistation on the other side of the pond.
Colin good to see you back. Did you have the severe weather that Holland had? Pat don't over do it.... you are needed here. Let Judy know I am praying for her.
I am not commenting on all the posts, just know you are prayed for as well.
Well I have to go, I will be back.
JudyB
Hi JudyB.....we had stormy weather but nothing like in Holland. We do complain about the rain here but we are grateful we do not have the extremes of weather that other people get.
Ok...if any of you would like...email Clifford Hopper of Radio North and tell him what a great guy I am and you would like him to play something nice for me on his Gospel programne. www.radionorth.net has a request thing but it does not work on the web so Clifford said by emailing him it would be the best way of getting requests in to his programne...he is on from 2pm British time on a Sunday afternoon. Now that is if you like and only if you think I am ok! ^-^ Thank you!

Hi everyone. Just a brief note to let you all know we arrived safely in St. Petersburg, Florida yesterday morning. We decided to leave on Wednesday because of the weather forecast for ice and snow in Atlanta after midnight. We drove about halfway. I brought my laptop with me but in the motel the hard disk crashed, which probably explains why I couldn't get online there. So I am writing from the St. Petersburg public library, where they limit you to one hour. I will have to wait until I get home to read all the postings but wanted to say we are here safe and sound and having a great time.
Good Morning Good to see you made it to Florida safely Larry.
Hi Colin I take it you didn't get the gale force winds that are sweeping England, Holland and Europe. ???
Not much new here, I have been to Curves for my workout and I am taking Ruth to the Senior Center in Arcata again today. We go everyday that they are open. Have only missed a few days since I have known her.
Good to see you back Pat I have been to your PAD to see your lovely photos.
Be sure to tell JudyMc that I am praying for her hip to stay in place, there is nothing too hard for God.
Willa came through the surgery just fine and came back home yesterday. She was still pretty groggy when I called her yesterday. Thank you for the prayers.
I wonder how Alma's daughter is doing.???
Gotta go now
Hi Marilyn...we got gales but nothing very severe. You are looking well...you havent changed one iota since I came here at the first! Wonder what that gipe Etta Sue is up to! Pat..what is a gipe! Janet..loved your devotional. Take care everyone.
Hi everyone! :)
Our weather is in the opposite extreme here in Australia. Today's forecast is quite high, but worse than than, the drought is continuing and is said to be the worst in over a hundred years. 1 in every 3 farmers are committing suicide because of the dire circumstances. About 3 years ago, I sent a letter to our Prime Minister which outlined our Christian heritage - twice in our history, our nation's leader had 'proclaimed' a national day of "Repentance and Seeking Almighty God" for the breaking of droughts. As a result of everyone praying & repenting as a nation, drought-breaking rains came within days!!!! :) Unfortunately, in our modern day politics, our leaders are worried about political correctness and are afraid to offend other religions.
Please pray for our land which is called 'Southland of the Holy Spirit' - this was the name given to our land and because of the length of the name, was shortened to 'Australia' which means 'Southland'. We really need to see a breakthrough in both physical and spiritual rain. :)
Pat, I love your new site. What a great idea! I especially loved the rose with the photo program effects added. Very stunning!
Everyone else, have a blessed day!
In His love,
Good Evening All,
Thought I'd pop in and catch up on the posts, I'm praying for you all.
I saw a funny thing this morning, I think I saw a crow with the hic ups. At least that's what it looked like. I'd hear this funny noise and found the crow moving to that same funny noise. Hiccups! When they were done he flew down and stuffed 3 peanuts in his craw. Very goofy bird. :uglystupid:
Now the serious, my husband has cancer, they want to do more tests to see what kind and how far. Please pray for us.
Have a God filled and blessed rest of the day and night and evening, depending on where you are.
<><Jeannine
PS. Michael is just fine!
Jeannine I am praying for your husband. There is nothing impossible for God, I am praying that when they do the testing that all cancer will be gone with no sign of it ever having been there.
I am off to the Chiropractor in about a half and hour. I have to do a couple of other things while I am in Eureka, like pick up another air hose for my CPAP machine and pick up some product that I left someplace.
TTYL
Sometimes it seems there is just no end to the burdens we are asked to bear, but my Bible tells me we will never be asked to bear more than we are able. :-\
Jeannine, you ard your husband are added to the ever growing list of friends here who seem to be really "loaded to the max." I am praying
Also for: Judy and Norm McK., Beth, Liz, Alma, Pat, Ruth Ann, Marilyn and her friends, Larry, Samantha, Karen, Colin, and all the many, many others who are suffering hardship. <3 <3
Hi Marilyn ... you came in while I was typing....

Praise God, I don't have a hardship and that allows me to pray in behalf of all my brothers and sisters with hardships.
If you use Windows XP, everyone has the Character Map. Start>>>Program Files>>>Accessories>>>System Tools>>>Character Map. You can select the font and then click on the character you want. At the bottom right corner tells the keystrokes to use to make this character....or you can copy from the character map and paste it here. That's where I find all these things...like GÔ¿ÔD Morning!!
Busy day today. Got up early. Ivalou and I went to eat breakfast. I had to be done eating by 9:30am to have a 2 hour post-??? blood draw at 11:30am. I made appointments for my yearly exam and my yearly blood work at the doctor's office. Ivalou got a new cell phone and I changed the number in mine. Then I drove to Pendleton and got the fan on my car fixed for the heater/AC. We went to Dollar General and then decided we were hungry again so had a Mexican meal. Then home. I called and made my appointment for my mammogram. Called my phone company to get call forwarding so I can now forward my home phone to my cell. Busy Day! <_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_>

Etta Sue: Thanks for the ° code. I used to know it but neglected to make a little card with the info. ;D at your cat and mouse!
Jeannine: Such a heavy load for you and your family right now....my prayers for everything to turn out alright.
Marilyn: It is so neat that you run into Al and Marbeth. How did you meet?
Pat: It has to be almost unbearable for Judy McK - am so sorry. Your sister knows you pretty well and she says you need to take it easy, so I will add my two-cents worth as well. Take care!

Etta Sue: Sorry, I just dragged your characters up to Reply - I was trying to cut and paste it. Will sign off now & try to stay out of trouble.....
Carol, you forgot to put the codes in. I fixed it for you! ::)
Etta Sue: That was so nice of you. thanks.
I just have to tell someone about the very sad news in our area. Two teenage couples were coming home from a school dance and they had a flat tire. Both boys got out to fix the tire after they pulled over as far as they could with snow on the roads and another teen driver, a girl, drove right into the back of the car, pinning the boys legs. Both boys, athletes, lost both legs. I just can't imagine the trauma to the kids and their parents and am still not sure if they both pull through as one is still critical. Please pray for all.
Carol
Ohhhh, Carol!! How horrible! I had to shudder just reading about it. My prayer is for the boys to have the courage it will take to get them through this, and then to find meaningful work for their lives. Just too awful for words..........
I was gone all day with my buddy Pat, now must get stuff ready for a day of scrap booking tomorrow. See you later.
Carol I met Al first here on CP, then over the phone when I came up here from the desert at Christmas to visit my son. We met in person when I moved up here 3 years ago. He was so helpful to me telling me where to find places how to get where I was going and took me for my first job interview. He was living in Arcata at the time about 7 miles south of McKinleyville. He has since moved to McKinleyville about 2 miles away from me.
We became good friends after I moved up here.
Do you Senior Netters know that Lady Zinnia (Karen)passed away a couple of days ago? Marcie posted a notice in Alternative Medicines that is where I saw it there ia link there toanother place.(Health Matters)
I met Karen at a bash in Loma Linda before I moved up here.
Yes, Marilyn, there are several places on SN that have the information. Thanks for thinking of posting here. (BTW some of us met Al on SN, too) :)
Carol~I can't even imagine what those young people and their families are going through and will face in the days, months, years ahead. Such trauma for all concerned. How is the girl who was driving the car that ran into them?
Yes, Marilyn, I read Marcie's post after Jane emailed me. She'd read it earlier. Isn't that so sad? She had such courage.
Etta Sue, I'm with you. Everything is going well in my family now. I'm praying for all those who are going through times of suffering and trial.
I've been looking for word about Audra too. I guess Alma will come and let us know when she can.
Carol, that's so awful about the boys. :(
I watched part of a movie on TBN today. It was about Pope Louis 14th. I don't even know if it was a true story, and didn't catch the beginning, but it was really good. I'll have to seach to see if there was a Pope Louis 14th. I didn't get the name of the movie either. Gosh, a bunch of almost information here, huh? Sorry. Maybe someone else knows the movie and will tell me what it is.
Blessings, Nita
Jane, I didn't see you there. :)
Hi, friends,
Well, my truck is now taken care of for the wintertime weather - and it's predicted to be here tomorrow night! My daughter's boyfriend put four 75-lb bags of sand right over my back wheels in the truck bed. So, that should weigh me down very well.
I'm so sorry about Judy Mc's hip difficulties - my goodness, she's really having a difficult time.
Jeannine, I'll be praying for you. My son is not so disabled as Michael, but I have a disabled son, and also dealt with my hubby's cancer. So, I have walked part of the way in your shoes.
This has been such a busy, stressful week at work. Seems with data analysis it's either "fasting" without a lot of work, or "drowning" in too much work to do. Right now, I bob up out of the overload once in a while to grab a bit of sanity and then back at it again. At least, I'm very thankful for a job and for the assignments.
Pat - don't wear yourself down too much! We love you and want to keep you around a LONG time. :)
Y'all have a good evening.
Ruth Ann
It appears I get to be first to say GOOD MORNING!! We have snow falling here again, but it doesn't seem quite as cold as the past week has been.
Ruth Ann, I'm still praying! ;)
I'm off to work on my scrapbooks again. I have searched and searched and......... anyway, I can't find the photos I took at school of Abby and her class when they were in kindergarten. Frustrating! I believe I have them on discs, but what a job to search them out.
Nothing newsworthy here, just wanted to say HI! :) ;D 8)
Janet - you're making faces. How desecrable.
Our church has what they call their "kettlefest" today - we all get together, each brings various foods, and we talk, fellowship, etc. We do it one each month.

I want to thank everyone again for the lovely comments on my animations/graphics. That means a lot. I am hoping I give a few smiles with them.
What sad news on those boys in Colorado. I can't imagine what they and their parents and their friends are going through right now. God give them all direction and understanding.
I, too, read about Zinnia (Karen) on SN. I never met her other than through posts but it is always sad to know you won't see their posts again.
I got an email from Kitty....she doesn't think she will be back from Ohio for her birthday. It is suppose to snow tomorrow and Kitty doesn't do rain or snow when she drives. I may not see her until springtime!! ???
I have had a busy two weeks and now as I look at my scheduling calender, I have nothing on schedule until Feb 2 when I take my son and his wife out to eat for his birthday! His birthday is Jan 30 but they are busy the previous weekend so now the celebration with me is the weekend after his birthday. Better late than never!
Cold in Indiana...21°F but bright and sunny! Not raining or snowing....yet!!
I am praying you all have a wonderful weekend and a fabulous Lord's day tomorrow. <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo>

Hi everyone. I am once again at the library computer for an hour. It is just a magnificient day here in St. Petersburg, not a cloud in the sky and the temperature between 70 and 78 with low humidity. We had a nice get together last evening and had snacks on the deck of Pat's cousin's home. This was out in the open. I was glad I had a sweatshirt in the car as I am always cold and that kept me very comfortable. We have another get together later this afternoon when one of the cousin's wife arrives from her meeting a little futher north of here. Tomorrow we are having a 50th wedding celebration for the cousins from Kansas City as none of us were able to attend on December 31st when their children had an affair for them in Kansas City.
Not much else new. I quickly read through the posts since I posted yesterday but don't have time on this computer to comment individually. I won't be back online until Monday. We plan to stay here through Monday night.
I had a terrible night of nightmares. I wound up waking up and praying for family and friends including here on CP. That thankfully stopped the nightmares, and I was able to get some rest.
Carol I have just told the girls about those 2 young men. They and I are praying as well.
Al Kettle Fest sounds like a great idea! Is there a planned program? Speakers? Or is it just food and fellowship?
Larry have a good time of rest in Florida, You will come back refreshed !
Etta Sue I have become very much a "fair weather driver" as well. I don't like driving at night when it is raining as I can't see the road well. I don't need glasses to drive yet, and I aim to keep it that way as long as possible. I am getting used to driving on snow pack again, this is normal for our roads in winter, at least if it is snow pack you know what you have.... with pavemant it could be iced up and not know till you slip.
Janet scrapbooking has really taken off. We have classes up here for those wanting to learn. Something I will try soon, just too busy right now.
Jeannine, prayers are with you. Trust the Lord for strength during this time.
Ruth Anne, It is so good to read your posts, always interesting and informative, Know that John and I pray for you. His journeys to the US are now in the past, if we ever come through your area, we will let you know.
Marilyn look for 2 emails. Have a good weekend!
Everyone else I am praying for each family neeed, May you feel His presence as you go through your weekend.
May God bless you and Keep you.
Judy B
Judy - it's just food & fellowship. Sometimes I think there should be at least a little devotional or a couple of songs or something, but it is good to just be together too.
This sounds like a fussbudget - but I would prefer to cook for myself rather than eating some of the food fixed at our Wednesday night things at church. It is called Soup Supper here but they plan any meal. We put money in the pot last time & asked for decaf - none there & no coffee so it goes - the casserole was too spicy for us to eat. I hope we can do our own cooking in Texas because I sure can't eat mexican food too often. Now, I am really borrowing troubles.
Jane: I haven't found out anything about the girl in the car crash yet other than no alcohol was involved. We don't take the paper & read it online so I haven't gotten that far in the past few days.
Cold outside and the snow isn't falling yet. I hope Janet is going to be alright with this latest storm.
Thanks to all who prayed for the teen boys. I don't know them at all but it just saddens the heart.
Carol
Brrr! It's decided to be really wintry here in Nashville today. The sun felt warm when I was out to lunch with my friends, but after I went inside the grocery, the sun decided to hide, and the winds picked up. Wow! it was really c-o-l-d!
My truck ride is ever so much more smooth with those sandbags in the back. :D
The kids have given me another hockey game ticket tonight, so I'll be leaving here in about 30 minutes to enjoy another evening with them. They're actually going to drive to Dallas this week to see the NHL hockey playoff games. So, you KNOW they're diehard hockey fans.
Thank you, Janet. I appreciate your prayers.
I'd better go bring the rest of the food inside afore it freezes!
Y'all have a good evening.
Ruth Ann
Hi everyone, my Internet just came back online and this is the first place I cam haven't even checked email yet but will soon. The cable and DSL Internet was off all day and so were some of the cell phones. Mine cell didn't go down though. I have US Cellular it was all the other companies that were off.
Go to go read my email. Be back later.
Thanks, Carol. I'm fine! But we may be snowed in if it keeps this up all night. I was away from home today from 9 until 6, and "broke trail" on our road when I drove home. Looks as if we've gotten an additional 6-8" of the white stuff. And there are drifts, but not too bad as yet. I'm expecting to get a message that there will not be church in the morning---but haven't heard that yet.
Hey, Al! What is 'desecrable?" I know it's probably a typo, but haven't been able to figure out what you meant to type. And, knowing YOU, it's got me curious! ;)
Ruth Ann, I'm glad you got those sandbags loaded in your truck. We need you to be safe out there! I've never ever seen a hockey game. Well, bits and pieces on tv, but I don't have any idea of the rules and such. Guess I am "hockey illerate." :-\
JudyB, glad those nightmares stopped! I have bad dreams some nights, too, and then wake up feeling vaguely disturbed, and have to try to figure out the reason; then I remember that I had bad dreams. But I don't usually recall what they were about.
Etta Sue, sometimes it's nice to have a clear calendar. Mine is usually pretty cluttered! :-\
Larry, good to see you checking in. Have a great vacation and enjoy that lovely weather!
I am finally all caught up on my email and have been to do some reading at SN as well. Busy week for me I put in 28 hours this week with Ruth. Today I took her shopping but I ended up doing the shopping while she waited in the car, then we went to a Mexican place and had chicken enchiladas.
After I got home I walked both dogs and Bill from across the street and I went though all the parts I have received so far for my tent/garage. They will start getting it put up after he wind settles down.
This morning I got the bottom drawer of my file cabinet cleaned out and tossed a lot and shredded a lot. I am changing over to another file cabinet as this pressed wood one that I have had for years need to go. My pastor gave me a two drawer metal file cabinet when he bought new stuff for his office.
Judy so far I have received one email from you which I responded to.
Pat take it easy my friend, I tried to get you on Skype Wednesday.
Did I tell y-all that I am knitting an afghan. That is a new thing for me since I am usually crocheting. I am also going to make some altar cloths for the church. Another woman is buying the fabric, she said they would be all flannel pastels. She could net find the burgundy color to match the sanctuary decor.
Well I guess that is it for tonight. Didn't mean for it to be so long.
G'nite
Good Morning
This is the day that the Lord has made!
Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
The furnace went out during the night and in the schoolroom it is only 40°F! ! Brrrrrrrrcold.
We are off to church. John has the car running so it will have the chill taken off when we get in. Our pastors wife has had her baby, a boy, Samuel David. Nearly 8 pounds. We are happy for her and Jeff.
Need to run Marilyn I will resend the first email when I get home.
Love abd God's richest blessings to everyone.
It is snowing and blowing here. Not too sure if we should try to drive out this morning. We have plenty of time to think about this and that is good.
Janet: You are getting more snow than us this time.
Ruth Ann: I read about your having heavy bags in the back of the truck. Once, we were stuck at son's mountain cabin on a steep part & driving a Subaru wagon that usually goes anywhere. Don made me sit in the way back of the wagon - cargo area & we got out - I think I am still mad at him for that one ;) I hope your roads stay safe.
Colin: How are you? Are you feeling spiffy????
JudyB: Do hope your furnace problem is only that your wood ran out during the night and nothing more.
Marilyn: Often think of taking up knitting and crocheting again because it is something that can be doing at nightime. I do X-stitch but that has to be in daylight for sure.
Counting my blessings today and the more I think about it, the more blessings come to mind. It is too easy to just let them slide by and not give thanks for these blessings.
Carol
Janet - it's a first cousin to recalcitrant.
Good Morning. Not much new here it is freezing outside but now as bad as some of you have. I am ready for church looking forward to the final letter in the pastor's message God needs F.A.T people, Faithful and Available and ?. I will let you know the "T" word when I get home.

Good morning! Indiana had its first significant snowfall during the night. I got up, got dreassed for church and out I went. The snow plow went past my house two times while I was reading my devotions. The crossroads east of me is the county line. That county hadn't touch the road nor the highway until I got through Pendleton...about 10miles. Then I followed a snowplow from there until 8 miles from church. He was only going 35mph and didn't have the plow down enough to get the snow off and the salt was pouring out...not spraying out! Then the last 8 miles I was on semi-cleared roads. I didn't get over 40mph anytime. I kept thinking, turn around and go back home. But something kept me going. Even the parking lot at church was covered.
Both sermons were on 'Who is Jesus?'. Great sermons. Scriptures were mostly Acts 2. Different insight.
I ate at Wendy's and started home. The roads were much better but patchy. About the time I got to 50mph, then the road was covered with snow, ice or slush. Really and truly, my road was the best in all the 25 miles to church and back.
And the snowplow men sure won't want to work this evening when the Colts beat the Pats! They will....just watch! I am not even a football fan but I think I will watch tonight!! (*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*

I think something is up with earthlink..my animations aren't showing.
Etta Sue---they are now! I see a big Colts flag waving! ;)
We found out this morning that a PT Cruiser wasn't made for a snowplow! We were pushing snow with the bumper all the way out to the highway! We got stuck twice, but Darrel got us out okay. And we were really happy, after we got there, that church hadn't been canceled, because we are always blessed for our faithfulness in attending. (We would have gotten a phone message had it been canceled. Some of the churches here did cancel.)
The sun is shining now, and the snow is melting. I hear the constant dripping as it hits the air conditioner in the window.
Al, I know that word! Now I'm heading to my dictionary to look up 'desecrable.' You trying to educate us? ;)
Well, it is NOT in my dictionary. You sure you spelled it correctly??? :-\
Etta Sue - GO COLTS!
Yes Carol the fire died. We all were toasty warm in bed and didn't notice that it was out till we were up.
Etta Sue our sermon was on "Who is Jesus" as well but then he deviated and went onto what Church membership is all about.
We went to pick up our water from the young man at church today and had a really good visit. He is such an amazing person, so on fire for the Lord. It is a blessing just to watch him. He doesn't charge us for the water, so this week I will make him a pot of soup, with tea biscuits to go with it.
There seems to be a bug going around in the house, Girls are under the weather today. It will be a quiet afternoon as we have sent them to bed.
I am off, Dinner is half prepared, just have to add veggies.
Have a God day everyone.
The "T" in F.A.T. is teachable so Faithful, Available and Teachable. God needs F.A.T. people.
:) Thanks for telling us about that Marilyn. You had my curiosity peaked! I guess I'm a F.A.T. person to God, and thats a good thing!
Hi, friends,
Well, the Predators won that hockey game, and since Buffalo lost their game with another competitor, this puts our Nashville Predators first in the National Hockey League! I really enjoyed cheering for the team until I went into a very low blood sugar low.
Thank goodness I was with the kids and my daughter's a nurse. So, she had mints in her purse and I ate the only one I had in my pocket at the time. Then we got down the escalator and she knew of a place in the arena where they had chairs, so she and I sat while her boyfriend got his truck and picked us up at the door. By that time, they said my color was coming back and I no longer was staggering when I walked. We sat in his truck until I was stabilized, and then they followed me home.
Yukky! First one of them I've had in ages.
Marilyn, you're a "better man" than I am to be able to keep up with all the things going on in your life!!! Thanks for telling us about F.A.T. - I really appreciate that.
We had such a great worship service this morning. The songs were wonderful and you could really feel the stirrings of the Holy Spirit amongst us. Our church had gotten down so very tiny that some feared we would be closed, but there's a wonderful resurgence of God's love toward us, all ages are now attending, and so very often there are spontaneous testimonies as to God's love and answers to prayer.
We feel it may be helped along by the monthly times we pray for a straight 24-hour period with persons volunteering for one or more one-hour sessions of prayer, solely focused on those requests that have been turned in to the church. Yesterday was one such day, and I had chosen 9 to 10 a.m. Oh, my, how God rains down his blessings when we're obedient.
Y'all have a good day.
Ruth Ann
Amen Samantha. I am F.A.T for God too.
Ruth Ann Amen to God raining down the blessings when we are obedient. We have one night a month where we just go sit in the church and wait on God for an hour. That will be next friday night the 26th.
On the 10th of next month we are having a Valentine dinner.
Please pray for this area to get a Christian High School. That has been the vision of quite a few people in this area. There is going to be a meeting out our church tomorrow night. We have provided our building for the committee's meeting.
TTYL
Oh, dear, Ruth Ann!! Those blood sugar lows are SO scary. I'm glad your daughter and her friend took good care of you, and that you are all right now. Yea for your team!
Yes, God is still in the prayer-answering business! I'm so thankful, and am attempting to stay in prayer more. He even honors those quick little "shooting" prayers as we go about our daily lives. Pray without ceasing...........
I surely hope we don't get stuck again this evening going to or coming from church! Not in the cold and the dark........ But I believe God will honor us for going and that we will get back home safely.
I'm still stymied about where those photos can have gone! >:( I will probably find them sometime when I am not looking for them, but for something else. I think I will give up on it for the time being. :(
Later, kiddos.
I need my bed..I am sooo tired. Quick hello to everyone and I had a quick skim throught each post. just wanted to say thank you Marilyn for your thoughtfulness.I left you a shout so I will not repeat what I said.
I would love to reply to the rest of you but I really must go to bed!
God bless.
WAY TO GO, COLTS!!! My, what an exciting game that was! We went to church but were home for the second half. Did you enjoy it, Etta Sue?
Hi Colin! You get all rested up so you can come talk to us tomorrow! :) I sent an email request for a song for you---did they play you one for me?
Time to get off here and get ready for bed and some reading time.
I watched the first half....Colts were way behind. I just felt that they were going to lose. Then my Ultimate TV (like TiVo) started recording two shows at 8pm. It seems that when I am recording two shows, I can't watch a live show. So I watched Extreme Makeover while it was recording and then The Apprentice. Boy, was I surprised when I turned to see the last of the game and it was over and the Colts won!
Indianapolis has been so pumped up this week for this game. I can't imagine how the fans will be for the SuperBowl. And since they play Chicago, it is a Midwest SuperBowl!
I also noticed that my animations were gone again. Must be Earthlink.
Time to lock the door.
