JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

This has been a fun day.  John left early to have breakfast with one of the young men at church.  :)  When he left I had Cimi on one side of me and Dana our doberman got up on the other side of me and I was the sandwich filling.  ::) I went back to sleep and slept well.

When I got up I had a weeks worth of meals to get ready for John, as he finds the prices are too great to buy his meals on the road.

Late this afternoon we went to have a BBQ visit with friends and family.  What a good time that was.  The kids were all well behaved, and the adults were able to visit without having to talk over the kids.  We had a really good birthday celebration.  John's birthday was the 12th and mine is tomorrow.

Our chickens are really growing!  It seems the double their size every week.  It will be good to have them in the freezer over the winter.  John was born and raised on a farm, so he does know what he is doing, even though it is experimental for me.

We are gradually getting ready for the girls to go to camp.  I take our grandson next Sunday and the girls go in August.  What a quiet week that will be!

It looks like the spaniel, Stitches, Cimi's daughter is going to have puppies.  I certainly hope so.  One false pregnancy is more than I can handle.  :clobber: Silly Dana actually has produced milk!   :o We will know for sure in a couple of weeks.

Those of you who are complaining of the dryness........We have too much rain.  It has rained every day for the past two weeks.  We are ready for a few days of NO RAIN!!!   :ticked:

Well that is the update from North Bay.  I am still having server problems, so not sure when I will be able to post again.

I still Pray for the needs here, God bless everyone

Hi everyone.  We had some very nice rain yesterday and last night and more is predicted for today.  Since it has been in the form of showers and not all day it isn't bad at all and we certainly need it.

Judy, Happy Birthday to both you and John.  It sounds like you had a nice time at the Bar-B-Q and that life on the farm is enjoyable for you all.  I never enjoyed living on the farm although know it was a wonderful place to be raised.

Etta Sue, hope you hear from your friend today.  I know that is worrisome.  Perhaps she decided to spend a few extra days in Ohio.  Glad you all had a nice time at your get-together.  People change a bit in 47 years, right?

Jane, don't let a little thing like a power outage discourage you from posting please.  Has Joy and her husband fully moved back to California from Mexico?  I don't believe you have spoken of them for awhile.

Al, I agree that just waiting for the check is about the same as having it paid off.  That is a nice feeling to have things paid off.  I was in that place for quite awhile until I bought a new car but I have such a good interest rate on it, like 1%, that I can't justify paying it off early.  The only other debts, other than normal living expenses which I pay monthly, are things I buy on 12 months same as cash and figure why strain the budget in paying them off early.  Will you be having a mortgage burning?  Believe me I kept my mortgage marked "Paid" as didn't want to lose that.  I guess you could make a copy and have a symbolic burning.  :)

My wife is working in the nursery this morning at church so won't be attending the morning service.  She does this every three months or so and works with the 2,3, and 4 year olds.  She enjoys it but is always worn out when the hour or so is over.  Our youth minister is preaching today as our senior pastor is on a much earned two-week vacation and think he is probably at the beach by this time.  He was off last week but his wife told me he had a long "honey-do" list to get done over the first week of his vacation, which is now over.  We aren't having Bible study with the pastor this week and the group is going to a museum on Wednesday to see an exhibit of ancient Bibical artifacts at the Emory Museum.  We are not going as I am not up to doing all the walking that would be involved and not ready to ask my wife or someone else to push me around in a wheelchair.  I know they will have a good time.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.  My plans for today include attending church, eating out, coming home and resting and then taking it quiet the rest of the day.  It has been a busy week, for which I am thankful, but am ready for a change of pace.

Janet

Good morning!  So good to read all your reposts and know what's happening in your lives.

Al, congrats on becoming debt-free!  It's a wonderful way to live.

Etta Sue, I have been expecting to see/hear sometihing about the missing mailman, but haven't caught anything yet on our news.  I do hope he is found safe and well.

Pat and I had a nice evening last evening.  We went to the kick-off of our county fair.  The Fair Board provided hamburgers and hot dogs, and we had a concert by the Benders, from Wichita, Ks.  They play all 50s and 60s music, and we really enjoyed it.

Today is a happy day!  Our grandson Curtis got home last night from Officers' Training in Alabama, and yesterday was Abby's 10th birthday, so we are going to their church today, eating lunch with them, then celebrating Abby's birthday.  (She had a sleep-over party on Friday night with her friends.)  And we get to see Mark, too!  YIPPEE!!

Talk to you later.  Better stop now.

Larry - I don't think we'll probably have a "mortage burning," but we'll just give God thanks that we're done with it.  I started out thinking we were simply going to try to refinance it at a lower rate, thus saving dollars monthly, but then it became evident that we could empty out some of our savings and simply pay it off, thus borrowing from ourselves instead of paying interest to someone else.  Then we'll try to recoup our savings, 'cause it's all the margin we have financially.  Actually, it's really good to realize that none of it is ours anyway - every dime of it belongs to the Lord.  So what we're really trying to do is to manage it in the best way possible for His glory.

Well, Larry, that is a question we all keep trying to answer!   :-\  Joy and John have tickets to return to Mexico on August 9.  They are still deciding whether to get their stuff out of storage and drive (2 vehicles) back to California or just drive one vehicle and some of their stuff; to try to sell their house in California or live in it themselves; or rent the small house in the back to a friend (by the week) so she can keep an eye on the place while she looks for another house to buy .......   :-\     It is something they discuss on a daily (make that hourly) basis  and come up with different scenarios each time.  I guess we'll find out when the time comes.    ;D

Bryan is very close to being in the Army again.  I think Joy said the middle of this week is when he goes to MEPS (whatever that is) to choose his job and be assigned.  It has been a long drawn out process for him because of his history.  He has had to convince them that he is really sincere and has changed.  He wants to "finish right" as he says.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Good Morning I have had two calls for prayer for our Worship Pastor from his wife. He is in severe pain in the area of one of his kidneys, unable to lay down and can't breathe. Please pray for Dennis, he is also our Adult Sunday School teacher. I will ask one of the other brothers to teach the class this morning.

Overcast here this morning, it feels damp outside. My curls have already disappeared. I set my hair and because of the weight , being so long, that the curls don't last long.

gotta go now.

I must say that I was so happy and blessed to read your poem, Misty!  Please continue to share.  I may print that out (with your permission) and put it inside my Bible.

The postman has been found alive.  But to me, it is still a mystery.  You may read about it here.
Still sad about it!  Still unbelievable.  My husband had a gun permit and carried a gun all the time so someone carrying a gun doesn't make them a threat!

Remember me saying the mother of a member of our church was missing.  About six weeks ago?  She still hasn't been found.   :(

Church was great today.  I missed last week so this week was filling up again!!  Great to see my friends at church.  And really great to see my two favorite pastors in the pulpit!

It is really hot in Indiana.  I had the A/C on in the car on high all the way home and still was hot.  So now I think I will catch up online and get my book to read ..... and probably ZZZZzzzzz!   ;)

Pat, Where is Geordie when we need him?????

What an exciting afternoon this was!  On the way home from Church we encountered a traffic jam on our country road.  The cause of the problem was three sheep that had escaped the field they were kepy in.  The girls jumped out and started running!  BAD move,  I didn't know that you never chase sheep!  They just run faster!  We managed to get them headed up the road to our house and that got them off the main road.  We put Cimi on the leash and her barking did do some to keep them back in the field.  I managed to get the neighbour to come over with his trailer, as we tried to load them they bolted.  Oh my, back down on the main road headed the wrong way with the girls chasing.  Two turned around and Elizabeth after them.  I followed her stopping traffic and wondered how Kassie was doing.  The sheep went into the farm next to us and the farmers son got them into his barn.  I headed back to find Kassie.  John joined the chase on the lawn tractor and back into the neighbours gravel pit we went.  Kassie had hearded the lone sheep and was heading back to the road.  It made a detour but was easily turned around.  Back down Alsace we went.  The people coming up behind me must have thought I was drunk the way I was driving.....all over the road.  The last sheep went down into the ditch and into the farmers field.

Kassie was on the verge of heat exhaustion, her face was scarlet, and her head was pounding. She has had a cool shower and is drinking cold, iced tea.

Some may wonder why we bothered.  If one was hit there would have been unnecessary damage to the vehicle, and the unnecassary death of a really dumb animal would have been hard for the girls to take.

Many years ago the owner of a local farm died, and his ex-wife has taken over.  Would be nice if she knew what she was doing, this is the fourth time they have been loose.

Well I have to go.  The girls are ready for a swim and after all their running they are really needing it.

Bye for now
