Morning Devotional...Personal Life:
To Think God's Thoughts
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. --Psalm 1:2To think God's thoughts requires much prayer. If you do not pray much, you are not thinking God's thoughts. If you do not read your Bible much and often and reverently, you are not thinking God's thoughts....
There also has to be a lot of meditation. We ought to learn to live in our Bibles. Get one with print big enough to read so it does not punish your eyes. Look around until you find a good one, and then learn to love it. Begin with the Gospel of John, then read the Psalms. Isaiah is another great book to help you and lift you.
When you feel you want to do it, go on to Romans and Hebrews and some of the deeper theological books. But get into the Bible. Do not just read the little passages you like, but in the course of a year or two see that you read it through. Your thoughts will one day come up before God's judgment.
We are responsible for our premeditative thoughts. They make our mind a temple where God can dwell with pleasure, or they make our mind a stable where Christ is angry, ties a rope and drives out the cattle. It is all up to us.
Dr. Tozer in Rut, Rot or Revival: The Condition of the Church, 42."My thoughts aren't adequate, Lord, to enable me to lead Your people through the quagmire of today's society. Nor are the thoughts of the writers, the teachers, the preachers, and the psychologists that bombard me from the pages and the airways. I'm only going to be effective as a spiritual leader as I learn to 'think God's thoughts.' Amen."
Good advice and a timely reminder Pat! :)
Yes, thank you, Pat, for passing along Mr. Tozer's thoughts to us. And thank YOU, Lord, for moving in the hearts and minds of Your people. Oh draw us to Yourself today!
Good morning all! Today, Bernard goes back to the eye doctor. He is doing a field of vision test, and if Bernard has lost peripherial vision at all, it could indicate if/where he had a mini-stroke some time back. At the end of March, he as a TEE -- an echocardiogram where he swallows a video camera and it gets pictures of his heart from the esophogus (however you spell that!). Then, in April he has a heart catherization to see if/how much damage has been done to the heart. If the hole that he has is small enough, they can repair it during a heart cath. If not, he will have to have open heart surgery. :(
Also, Friday night, one of the older men of our church went to work (he hauls gas from Spartanburg/Greenville, SC to different stations here in WNC) about midnight. At some point, he managed to get a terrible head injury to the back of the head. They said it looked like someone had hit him with a board or something, but nothing was stolen from the truck or anything, so they said perhaps he raised up and hit it. He couldn't remember anything for a while. He was doing better yesterday, but then took a turn for the worse this morning and passed away from an aneuryisym (spellng?). :(
Wow, I'm just a beacon of sunshine today aren't I? Sorry about that. I'll try to be a bit more cheerful next time I come in. ;)
Take care, all and have a wonderful Monday.

Larry ~ The concert was great for me. The seating has it good and bad points. Conseco is a fairly new field house...first time I had been there. There are three tiers of seats and we were in the middle tier. Thank God for escalators! But when you first walk out to where you can see the whole stadium, it is very overwhelming! The rows are very steep. And you have a feeling that the open space is pulling you toward it...like when on a mountain and looking out over the edge of a cliff!! That's the bad point. The good point is no matter who is sitting in front of you, they aren't in your way of seeing anything on the floor! If you can't walk very good, this isn't a place to go either. But I do know they have wheelchairs available for a price!
Pat ~ Thank you for the devotion. I need to read all the Bible again. I have my daily devotion that is using the book where I get the devotions that I post but that isn't reading the whole Bible.
Karma ~ So sorry that Nards and all of you have to go through all the tests that Nards is having. Nards! Do what the doctors say, ya here? Take it easy until you find out what is going on and only then, increase your activity IF the doctor tells you to do so. Sorry about the death of a man in your church. To go so fast....that is hard on the family!
I plan on cleaning the house today. It is either that or throw some grass seed in the carpet and later I can mow the grass inside AND outside!
Rain today in Indiana. As I was reading my devotions, a lightening strike sounded like it hit my roof and then the sound came. My lights didn't even flicker. I called Ivalou...woke her up...to ask her to look out her windows to see if my roof was smoking or on fire. It isn't/wasn't but it sure sounded like it struck the roof. It isn't raining right now but so cloudy! And the grass is greening up! Spring is on its way!! <_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_>

Hi everyone.
The housekeeper is here and the landscape folks to tend the yard so by noon everything will be ship-shape around our house except that we have to have the plumber tomorrow as yesterday afternoon as the washer discharged water it backed up some into the tub and gurgled in the commodes. It was not a pleasant sound. Fortunately it is not totally clogged so the facilities can be used today but no use of the washing machine until the problem is fixed.
Etta Sue, that certainly is frightening when the lightning strikes so near. Perhaps it hit a tree close by. We had a tree struck in our yard several years ago. Glad it was just a scare. It sounds like you really enjoyed the concert.
Karmat, sorry to read that Bernard is having so much difficulty. He is much too young for so many problems. Hope they can find and fix the problem and that you have some good health care facilities in your area. It was certainly sad about the truck driver.
Pat, a very fine devotional.
When our daughter was here this weekend she used my desktop computer and downloaded some games. Apparently there was a virus so something that changed some settings for now I can't get the cookie functionality to work or get my Google Gmail to load on it. I have spent quite a bit of time trying to fix the problem this morning without success so far.
It is another beautiful day here in Georgia. I don't have to go anywhere today but they are bringing me more entries for the Senior Golden Olympics so will have a lot of work to do later today in putting the entries in the database, printing out participation certificates and doing some other related tasks.
Good morning!
Karma, so sorry to hear (read) of Bernard's problems, and will be p;raying for him. As Larry said, he's too young to have those problems.
I must go to the care home today to talk to the Director of Nursing. She called me on my cell, just as I was about to enter the CCU in Amarillo to see Darrel for the first time after his Cath procedure. They were having a crisis with Beth. I told her I could only handle one crisis at a time and it was Darrel's turn. :-\ I did go by to see Beth on Friday and she was fine, so I postponed this until I could get some rest and be better able to deal with it.
Etta Sue, when I was a kid, lightning struck a huge cottonwood tree just outside our house and split it to the bottom! VERY loud!! :o Glad it didn't hit your roof. And the concert sounds really nice.
Larry, sorry your computer got messed up again. Sometimes my grandson Mark downloads a bunch of music on mine---then when he leaves, I delete all of it!
Hello, Pat. Good thoughts for today. Thanks.
Pat: Many thanks for your devotions from Tozer. I noticed (with a smile) he suggests a Bible with larger print...good idea and I should buy one. We tend to stick with what we have had for years and it does get difficult to read the tiny print.
Karmat: My prayers and good wishes to you and Nards as you go through the tests and results. May the doctors be guided.
Larry: Leave it to the "Kids" to gum up the computer - just kidding. Good luck with the plumber.
Carol
I too had a computer issue this weekend. I moved mine and when I set it up again everything worked fine for a bit then suddenly....nothing and only got "beep beep beeps" when trying to turn on the computer. I called my mother for a phone number and called my computer guy to see if he would be in today so I could drop off my tower for him to fix, and he told me to take the cover off my tower and check my cards inside that most likely one had come loose. Sure enough, that was the problem and when I put it back solidly in its spot, all worked fine.
I am sore today, I'm sure because I moved my computer and desk and filing cabinet upstairs and out of the main stream of site in my house. I still have much work to do to put everything to rights again but the hard lugging is done.
Judy McKenna, it is nice to see that you are back in your home town.
Pat, hope you are feeling better.
Nards, take care of yourself and follow Dr's orders. You have far too much going for you to not do so!
I know I am missing more but did not take notes so will just say hello everyone and take care of yourselves!
I received this in my email today and thought I'd share it here
Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.
Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But never forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you.
Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.
I am just listen to Toby Mack's new song "I was made to Love and be Loved By You" It is an amazing song upbeat but the words are wonderful.
Narda take care of yourself. You are giving everyone cause for concern. Do what the Doctor says ok?
Janet good for you. You can only do one thing at a time. To do anything you need to be rested. I continue to pray.
Etta Sue I can relate to the grass seed. We live on a gravel road and in the summer dump trucks run up and down. I don't get on top of dusting till it is too cold to get the gravel out of the pit and by then the fire is going.
Larry I understand computer problems. I am absolutely no good but leave it to the kids they understand the bits and bites, I get frustrated just watching. I usually leave the room and let them at it.
Tonight is small group. I would really like to stay home, it is cold out, and the temp is to drop some more. The girls have cadets so staying home is a no go. Aparently they have a test of some kind tonight. I never knew kids to want to go for tests before.
Keep me in your prayers over the next couple of days. There is a lot of stress to deal with.
Bye for now,
JudyB
Hello all. Nards get well quickly. It is sad to hear that you are not well and having the troubles of an old man when you are so young. God Bless you Brother. I didn't have to swallow a camera when I had the ECG. They used something similar to an ultra sound device.
Janet the caregiver always has to take time to rest, you need a day off too from the stress of being the caregiver. Believe me I do know what I am talking about. I am so glad I am no longer working on Saturdays and I can do whatever I want to do that is not taking care of someone else. So dear sister do take time for yourself. Relax and give all your cares to the one who cares for us.
Sue and Larry computer problems are such a pain. I am always worried that I am going to get a virus or something that is going to crash my computer and make me lose everything. I still have not backed up all my files, photos etc on CD's , It isn't that I don't have the Cd's I have plenty of them. I need to get the cases to put them in.
Etta Sue I think I would be in my closet (if I could fit in there) if lightening stuck so close to my house. and Happy would be under the bed quivering. The thunder must have been horrendous.
TTYL
Father, I pray You'll give the doctors great wisdom for Nards, and I pray You'll enable both he and Karma to be aware of Your love and Presence there with them. Oh lay Your healing hand on Nards just now, Father, through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I have felt really lethargic today, so didn't do too much. I did go see Beth and have her sign some tax papers, and went for an interview as I am signing up to be a Youth Friend Mentor. Our school system has lots of volunteers who meet with a child once a week, either to be a mentor or a reading buddy. My friend Pat is a Youth Friend and really enjoys doing it. She eats lunch with her student once a week and spends an hour with her. I will enjoy doing that---but I think Abby may be envious. ;)
Darrel went out and about a little today, and is feeling a lot better. And my wonderful friend Pat made us a nice kettle of stew for our supper tonight. :)
I do hope I can get rested up a bit this week. I dislike feeling so tired and listless. :-\
Hello everyone...
I'm so tired tonight. I didn't sleep at all well last night so I think I'll go to my bed early. I may even go and lie down now.
I've read all the posts and I will pray for you all.
Love
Pat
Hello all! Bernard "passed" his field of vision test. ;) He did get a referral to a neurologist if it doesn't clear up, but apparently, the eye dr. is crossing his fingers and hoping it goes away. :)
Marilyn, sorry I didn't make it more clear. He has already had the ECG with a doppler/ultrasound advice. The next one will give a clearer picture of the actual hole.
As far as medical care, we have, in my opinion, quite possible the best cardiology department in the state. The Memorial Mission/St. Joseph Hospital system was rated in the top 100 hospitals in the country not too long back, as well, so between that and God, Bernard is in good hands.
Hope everyone has a good night.
Laters
Karmat, good news! When you said Bernard "passed", I about swallowed my tongue, but then I kept reading and found it was a vision test. Way to go, Nards. Keep passing the tests.
Larry, have you ever gone to Housecall and ran their online test for viruses on your computer. I do that about once a month. I think their name is Micro
Trend, and the scan is called Housecall. I learned about it in the tech forums at Seniornet. I also use AVG Antispyware program along with their antivirus program. Both free programs. the online scan is too.
I didn't sleep last night either. I turned on the police scanner at about 7 to find that a 5 year old boy was missing in the woods. Search and Rescue were everywhere..from up at the end of my street, where they entered the wooded area on 4 wheelers and bikes, men on foot, etc. There were other search and rescue in other areas and a staging area a few streets down. Anyway, I listened to that all night long, praying for that little boy, and the dog with him. Praying for the searchers. The Coastguard helicopter was flying over but it was too foggy for them to do much good.
I finally went to bed at 3:30 and was up at 7 am.
Today, after daylight during the search, a man at the end of Minnesota street, a few streets down, decided to take a walk up behind his house in the wooded area. He hadn't been there long when he heard the dog barking, and went to see the little boy curled up in a fetal position in the bushes, only the bottom of his tennis shoes showing. He got the boy, called 911, and the word came over the scanner. You could hear the emotion in the dispatchers and the policemen's voices. After a firm identification, they brought the parents to the boy. I broke out in Hallelujahs!! I couldn't wait for Sue to get out of the shower, so opened the door to tell her the good news! I've been smiling all day.
Can you imagine what kind of day the child and his mom and dad are having?? :)
The dog wasn't even his. I heard on the scanner that he was a neighbors dog and had gone to the woods with the kids. The kids were separated somehow, two other s being rescued before dark yesterday. The dog, a black lab, chow mix, stayed with the boy and kept him warm. He is a hero. A true hero.
Thank you, Father.
Tonight I think I'll sleep much better. My own dogs, my boys, are already in bed. I guess they know it'll be an early night.
Nita
Wow Nita that is really something. Imagine that dog staying with the boy! When Doug was 4 he decided to play a trick on Mom and hid under the headboard of our water bed. I was frantic, then so relieved when he giggled!
Small group was great today. Cadets was cancelled, and we didn't get a call out, I am now glad of that as I would have missed the blessing of small group.
The girls have gone to bed, and I am following them very soon.
Night all, and I am praying for the needs mentioned here.
Hi, friends,
Today I had a nice meeting with my boss who flew in from Cleveland just to meet with me. We talked over plans and past successes and kinda outline some thing for future emphasis. Then he took me to lunch.
And, then a SeniorNet friend who is in the area and I had met for dinner last week and she dropped something that I found after we parted. So, she was here again, and we got together tonight for me to return it to her.
And, forgetful me, forgot to pick up my medivcation and medical history printouts off the printer that serves about 30 other people. So, had to go back over to work past 10 pm to pick up the printouts. My preop physical is tomorrow morning first thing, and I certainly didn't want to work my way through morning traffic going one way, then fight my way into downtown with the regular commuters, too! Heavens, my blood pressure would most certain rise! ;)
So, it's very late, I'm plenty tired, and ready to head for the bed.
Nards, both Larry and I can talk with you about the catherization, should you desire. Just instant message me here, and I'll be glad to give you my cell phone number. I'll be praying for you and for your entire family that God's hand of protection will be with you, and that, if it's in the will of God, that you will be spared heart surgery. Karma, thanks for letting us know.
Y'all have a good evening.
Ruth Ann
Yes, Nards, I too had a catheteriztion procedure about 5 years ago. At the end of it, the doctor at the hosp. where it was done came in and tried to talk me into having a triple baypass. The cath. was done over in Redding, CA, about 150 miles from here, and my friend had taken me over. I couldn't keep him there, obviously. Also, I wanted to get a second opinion, so I told him that. He argued with me, but I was adamant. When I got back over here, I went in to the cardiologist here (a very good one), and he said, "Yo don't need THAT!" The doc that had tried to get me to stay over in Redding to get the bypass done was very shortly disbarred from the profession and hit with heavy lawsuits. It turned out that he had scammed mny people and done bypasses that weren't at all needed. Thank the Lord that I didn't give in to THAT!
Ouch Al. glad you got the second opinion.
Unfortunately, all that is happening now is "second" opinion for nards (and third and fourth). Every cardiologist he has been too has given the same spiel -- you need to have surgery to have this corrected. The only difference was the "urgency" the surgery had to be scheduled with. One cardiologist said "immediately" with "me" NOW. He's not practicing now for other health reasons, but the others have said, "you need surgery, sooner is better." Bernard seems to be having a lot more chest pains, now, so we have decided to face this giant and get it over with. :)
Up until 5 years ago, this procedure could only be done open heart, so maybe waiting was good. I hope.
Nita, I am so glad they found the little boy. Yesterday, there was a little guy missing in the central part of the state. As of last night, they had not found him, and I haven't heard an update today. I cannot imagine what the parents are going through. Fortunately, he was a boy scout, and the weather is mild right now, so hopefully he will be found soon.
Take care!!

Tears of joy for the little boy, the dog and his parents. What a praise for God.
Nards ~ Do what you have to do. Pick one of those doctors and do what he says. Too many doctors may cause confusion. God will be with you so all will be fine but sometimes we have to have help from doctors.
Janet ~ Did I read right? Is Darrel still in Amarillo? You sure do have a lot on your plate. As was said, the caregiver needs rest.
Marilyn ~ Hoosiers hide in closets when they see a funnel cloud. Lightening doesn't strike twice in the same spot...at least, not in the same lightening storm. Within a few minutes you could tell by the lightening and the thunder that it was past us. I think if you see or hear lightening in the sky, then count one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand etc. And the number that you hear the thunder, that is how many miles away the lightening is!
The other day when I mentioned that I thought refund checks were sent out only on one day of the week and I said if they are sent out on Wednesday, I should get mine that day...Friday. Well, I did!! My Federal refund is in the bank waiting to be spent for my medical deductible or my Florida vacation or pay my State taxes quarterly!
Bright and sunny today. Really nice. My thermometer at my front door says it is 52°. I like that. I have the front door open so the girls can watch big screen kitty TV!!
Have you ever been so tired you couldn't get to sleep? I was last night. I did get my house dusted, all the glass surfaces cleaned...except windows and all the floors swept. And I moved my furniture around in the living room. I like it this way but I like it better the way it was. <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo>

PRAISE THE LORD!! The missing Boy Scout in NC has been found alive and in good shape! Is the area where he was in your vicinity, Karma?
I pray for Nards---wisdom for him, you, and the whole medical team who will be in charge of his treatment. You're all in good hands; those hands that created all of us. <3 Love you.
Darrel has really bad bruising in his groin, probably about the size of a football. But he says it doesn't hurt, so that's a blessing.
I need to go run a couple of errands. Be back later.
Etta Sue, we were posting at the same time. No, Darrel is home; I brought him home on Thursday. He is doing better each day, even went for therapy on his shoulder yesterday. Thanks for asking.
:D Good afternoon to all. I have not been on the sight for a couple of days and I cannot believe how many things happen in such a short time. The time seems to go so fast and there is so much to do. Next week I am starting to do V.O.L. at a mission in Welland where I live so could you please pray for me on Tuesday I go from 9-00am till
12-00noon and I am excited about this. There are a lot of neady people in this city.
We are praying for all of you and for your requests and the Lord will answer in his time. God bless you all talk to you later.
Hi everyone.
It is a beautiful 70's degree day here in Georgia. I think spring is certainly here.
The plumber came this morning and cleared the blockage in the line to the sceptic tank. He was here less than an hour and the bill was almost $200 but the problem had to be fixed. Then this morning the heat pump compressor outside was running and making a squealing sound and it was turned off. So pulled the breaker and called the get the repair man here. If any parts are needed they are under warranty still but the labor isn't and while he is here I will have the other air conditioner checked out for the season as we didn't have it checked last summer and it will soon be needed. Just glad we will have our tax refund shortly.
Gord, what is v.o.l.? Is that some type of volunteering?
Janet, I also was relieved to hear that the boy scout had been found and Nita that was good news of the little boy lost in your area. There is so much meanness now, or at least we hear about more of it, that it is such a relief to hear a pleasnt outcome of these situations. Glad Darrel is doing better and the bruise will disappear over time. The blood thinners we take leave us prone to this type of thing when they have to enter the artery.
Karmat, the sooner Nards has the surgery to repair his heart the sooner he will be feeling better and resuming a full life. They have made great strides in dealing with heart problems. If they don't have to open the chest he will likely have a very quick recovery.
Al, I fear that the doctor you encountered is far from alone in pushing heart surgery. It is what they call as "cash cow" in terms of income for both the doctors and hospitals. However, there are certainly times when such procedures are vital and give the doctors the information they need.
Ruth Ann, it sounds like you have been keeping very busy. Hope your medical appointment went well today.
JudyB, hope your girls were not too disappointed when their cadets was cancelled.
Nita, thanks for the reminder about the Trend Micro online scan, I will definitely run it. I do run AdAware and Spybot periodically.
Pat, sure wish you could get well and get rested up. Is your granddaughter still living with you?
Janet, Pat and I did the youth mentoring one year and really enjoyed it.
Marilyn, I would certainly advise you to go ahead and copy off on CD all of the files you want to save. You can put plain paper between the discs until you get sleeves. I actually prefer the paper or plastic sleeves over the cases as they take up less room. Just before I started to write this my wife asked me to help her download a quilting demo and then burn a couple of copies on to CD, something she had never done before.
Sue, your computer person gave you good advice and saved you some money. Glad your computer is fine.
Carol, I am sure my daughter had no idea that she was causing any problem and she may not have been the reason for the problem. I think I may have to reload Windows to see if that will correct the problem with the cookies. I have never experienced anything like this before.
I have an evenings work in entered about 70 new entries for the Golden Olympics database. We are coming down to the end of the process as the cutoff is the end of the month and they will not accept anymore applications.
Hope everyone has a nice evening.
Missing Underwater Photographer (http://www.eurekareporter.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?ArticleID=21824) Please pray for this man.
No rain today.....I had forgotten what the sun looked like!
My daughter & SIL have gone across the water to attend a Hockey Game. It is hard for Wendy to travel and sit thro' a game, but he is a sports fan. So hope that all goes well. They are away for a couple of days and I get to look after the six rabbits and two cats. Hope the rain holds off for a time as it is hard to care for the rabbits when getting soaked!!!
Lots of folks to pray for right now. I was pleasantly amazed to see an article on the front page of Victoria's paper with the title, "It pays to pray for patients, study finds."
A researcher at Arizona State U. analyzed 17 major studies on the effects of intercessory prayer on people with medical problems. Positive effects for those being prayed for were noted in 12 of the 17 research cases. Most notable, he found that six of seven studies in which patients were unaware that someone was praying for them produced positive health results. Stated that one possible explanation of these results is that God does exist and answers prayers. (this from a professor of social work, and expert on spirituality and religion) ::)
Marilyn, I couldn't get that link to work?
Small Smile:
A Matter of Perspective
Three preachers sat discussing the best positions for prayer while a telephone repairman worked nearby. "Kneeling is definitely best," claimed one.
"No," another contended. "I get the best results standing with my hands outstretched to Heaven."
"You're both wrong," the third insisted. "The most effective prayer position is lying prostrate, face down on the floor."
The repairman could contain himself no longer. "Hey, fellas, " he interrupted, "the best prayin' I ever did was hangin' upside down from a telephone pole."
;)
Time to go and feed the bunnies and think about getting something for Amanda's dinner. They are easier to feed.
Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.
Liz

This has been a very busy day and the sky was a perfect blue all day and lets hope we get no more snow. God bless you all and have a good night.
Read all the posts and praying for the needful.
Almost everyone in my family is flying this week - to Seattle, Portland, Atlanta, Orlando, & Honolulu. I am driving to Cheyenne, Wyoming - whoopee!!! Talk about praying with never ceasing prayers.
Take care,

The link works Liz but it takes a few minutes to load. On the news tonight they said they have giiven up the search.
I posted some photos HERE (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=6039.msg107942#new) of some beautiful Log sculptures created with chain saws.
Hi, friends,
The preop physical went well, and then I spent most of the afternoon training the man who will back me up on administering a big client's program. We both were really tired by the time we finished.
Y'all have a good evening.
Ruth Ann
Ruth Ann I am praying all goes well with you.
Larry Your repairs sound rough. The saying "It never rains but it pours" really applies here.
Nards you are being upheld in prayer.
I know I am missing some posts but you can know I pray for each one here.
I decided yesterday that I was going to meke my grandson an outfit. So out come the patterns and material. All I will need to buy is material for some pants. Alll will be in brown tones. In digging through boxes Kassie saw some material that she fell in love with and has asked for a dress out of it. I am so thrilled my girls like to dress in dresses. She has outgrown the patterns I have and the difference is enough that I won't try altering, just too tough.
John called from Verginia, his load is delivered and he is heading for another pickup. He really does enjoy the solitary life, but he is missed here.
Well I must go, World's skating is on and I want to see who wins. Canadians are doing well I think.
NN for tonight
JudyB
Good morning, all. Thanks so much for all your prayers. The Protonix I'm taking for acid reflux really helps with a good portion of the chest pain, so I'm very thankful for that. The scary thing for me right now, as a 38 year old, is that I have no idea where my "limits" are, and they seem pretty low, to be honest. We'll get through it somehow :)
I hope all of you have a good day. Thanks again for your prayers, and they are reciprocated. God bless all of you.
:'( I lost my post, which was almost finished. Now I don't have the time to redo it.
I am scheduled for a nuclear stress test at 10:00; would you please pray for me? Thanks.

Marilyn ~ So sorry to hear that they have stopped looking for the Underwater Photographer. That website is amazing. What wonderful photos.
Janet ~ You have to see those underwater pictures. They can be seen here (http://www.coldwaterimages.com/thumbnail_index.html).
Today I am going to Indiana University. It is cloudy and due to rain by afternoon. I did get a call from Nancy saying that she got a brand new Toyota Ram4 with all the bells and whistles! So I am going down a little early to get familiar with her new wheels! (*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*

Janet Yes I am praying.
Etta Sue It is always nice to drive in a new car!
Busy Day ahead, I will be back when I can.
Hey y'all! God did something REALLY BIG for us today, and I just want to PRAISE HIM for it!!!
Isn't HE wonderful? Taking good care of us the way HE does!
Still praying for all those with needs, and we still can use the prayers too.
Take care
Samantha <3
I hope I can finish and post this without losing it again.
I did great on the stress test; they were amazed and said I did better than any woman my age they ever tested. So I guess my sweet husband can stop worrying about my heart. Actually, I have felt MUCH better today, almost back to my old self. I really think it was just stress and loss of sleep making me feel so bad, but what the pains in my jaw were, who knows? That's what we were concerned about. Thanks, JudyB for praying.
Etta Sue, I went to the website of the underwater photos last night and spent a couple of hours looking at them. What amazing work! Knowing some of what is involved in taking photos underwater, wearing scuba gear and carrying all the equipment, I was really impressed with this young man's work. And I really enjoyed his "blurbs" under each photo, too; almost felt he was a friend by the time I finished looking and reading. I do hope they find him; even if they find his body, it will be some closure for his family. I got the impression from his writing that he was a single guy, but everybody (almost) has family of some kind. I feel a real sense of loss myself at the news of him being missing and wish I could have gone diving with him. Such a waste of a young life with so much talent and promise. :'(
Samantha, Praise God for your REALLY BIG blessing!
Nards, remember that your wife and kids, your parents and family, your church friends, all of us here on CP love you and pray for you---but best of all God loves you and wants the very best for you. I'm praying for wisdom for you and everyone who will have any part in your treatment, and for peace for you and Karma.
They didn't have the results of my nuclear stress test back by closing time, so I just figure no news is good news. They will call me when the results come in.
I am suddenly feeling drained again, so will get off this machine and go watch a movie with Darrel.
Hi everyone.
Home from choir practice for about an hour and trying to catch up on reading here and on SeniorNet, as well as my e-mail.
I spent all morning helping a friend with here computer and then most of the afternoon entering data into the database and printing reports and certificates of participation for close to 100 entrants for the Senior Golden Olympics in our county. We now have over 300 entrants and a lot of them are in their 70s, 80s and a few that are 90 and over.
I was expecting the Heating and Air Conditioning repairman today but he never showed up or called. Sure not a good way to run a company.
I have read all the postings but it is late so will just say goodnight.
Hi, friends,
Just popping in for a moment.
I, too, hope that the underwater photographer will be located.
And, Janet, that you will receive great results. And that our travelers make it to their destinations safely. And, Nards, I also take protonix for hiatal hernia and resultant chest pains. I know that your condition has many more ramifications than mine, but I am praying for you and your family.
Well, it's warming up here in Nashville, and I discovered my little truck's air conditioner has gone on the fritz. Will certainly need to get that corrected shortly.
JudyB, has John gone back on the road, or does he take occasional assignments?
Pat, are you feeling better?
Samantha, sounds like you're pretty happy about the good thing that happened. Glad you have something to celebrate.
I miss Jeannine and Colin.
And, can't mention everyone by name.
Just know I love y'all, pray for the requests, and eagerly come back regularly (either as a guest or in person based on where I am when I have the time to read and meditate).
Y'all have a good evening.
Ruth Ann
Well it is late, I am heading to the sack. I am really tired, probably because I took my meds earlier than usual.
Little Cimi is restless tonight too, I think she is wanting to go to bed as well.
God bless all of you, Janet I will continue to pray for you and Al too.
:)Good mornig to all. I should be sleeping but this is the best time to do this I find. We had a very busy day as I started at 5-25 a.m. I went to my mens seminar called Quest for Authentic Manhood which has been running for 24 weeks and it sure makes you think and wakens you up first thing inthe morning. After it was finished I came home and had a rest for a while as I new we had a long day. We then went to my Daughters and put up some blinds and drapes. Then we went to Buffalo N.Y. to do a bit of shopping and have dinner as we had to pick up a friend at the airport. We then went back to Canada and home.
:)Ruth Ann. My wife and I will be praying for your medical needs and we will ask the Lord to help with your training of the two men to help at your job. God is so good and praise his name for how he gives us strength each day.
Judy B. Hi to you both. Hope all is well and it sounds like the girls are keeping you very busy. So John is back on the road by the way you spelled Virginia wrong. Sis.
Nards. Its good to see you back and praise the Lord for the strength that he has given to you and your family. We pray that he will contiue to do this and just contiue to have Faith. God Bless.
Janet. :l  Aren't computers a pain when things go wrong and you dont have a clue what happened. Praying for your tests.
Etta Sue. Enjoy your drive in the new Toyota RAV 4. and keep safe.
Samantha. Praise his name.
Larry. Hi Larry hope that all is good I go this Saturday to my praise teem practise and we sing Sunday morning then I have to take of to go to Toronto to drop the wife of then I go to my large choir that I sing in. It is called Tri- City-Gospel-Choir. It is a barber shop type and they have over 100 members and they come from all over Ontario and lots of them are retired men and have sang in barber shop quartets and won many awards so its lots of fun. The Lord bless.
Pat. Hope that you are feeling better and dont forget what littel brother said to you dont do to much. Love ya,
Jeannine.an Michael and Hub. Hope you are all doing well also praying for you.
Colin. Where are you we miss your beautiful Poems come back soon.
If I missed you its because I am falling asleep so goodnight and the Lord richly bless all that I missed and have a great weekend when it comes. <3
I just don't know what it is about you midwesterners and easterners. It's slightly after 6:30 here, and I'm on here. It's after 9:30 on the east coast, and nobody's on yet. The sleepy east!
hello! This Easterner is awake. sortof. :)
I'm typing recipes. The women at the Sr. Citizen Center I teach at decided to do a cookbook as a fundraiser, and we are in the process of getting it together. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing, so I'm ignorantly blissful. . .
I hope everyone has a wonderful day. I think I'll go find something to eat.
karmat
Good Morning all.
An update on the saga of the broken elevator. It was running for 2 days. In that time they offered mom the downstairs bedroom, which she refused. The elevator is down again, and she has Cabin Fever. We are moving john's office out of that room, adding it to our very crowded schoolroom. We are moving Mom in with us for the duration of the time the elevator is down. This will be beter for her. Apparently the management does not cash rent checks if someone moves out on a temporary basis. That will be a plus.
It is raining here today. We have very little snow, but the mud is bad. I hope we get drying winds soon. I love this time of year. We see signs of summer coming.
Gord I realized it was wrong after I had posted..... I figured everyone would understand what I was trying to say as I had a spelling mind block.
I am praying for the needs here.
I got this this morning.
Bless this Puter
Every night I lie in bed
This little prayer inside my head
God bless my mom and dad
and bless my children
and take care of my spouse
who brings me so much joy...
God, there's just one more thing
I wish that you would do
if you don't mind my asking
to bless my 'puter', too??
Now I know that it's not normal
to bless a small machine
but listen just a second
and I'll try to explain...
You see, that little metal box
holds more than odds and ends
Inside those small components
rest a hundred loving friends.
Some it's true I've never seen
and most I've never met...
never shaken hands or
ever truly hugged, and yet...
I know for sure they love me
by the kindnesses they give,
and this little scrap of metal
is how I get to where they live.
By faith is how I know them,
Much the same as I know You.
I share in life it brings them,
So if it's OK with you...
Just take an extra minute
from your duties up above...
to bless this little hunk of steel
that's filled with so much love.
So God, Please Bless My Puter...

It was great driving a brand new 2007 vehicle yesterday. Felt like new pavement on the road and you sure could over steer if you weren't careful! And is it a Toyota RAV 4? Nancy says, Toyota RAM 4. Hmmmm! I am a GM person. GM was my families livelihood for years and still their retirment comes from GM!!
Tonight Kitty and I are going to some Digital Photography lessons. We were sent an email of what to be familiar with and I didn't even know some of the stuff...never even heard of it. So, thank God, for the internet! I now am familiar with some of them.
It was warm in my house when I got home last night. Never got down in the night. So my furnace didn't run last night! Whoo-pee!! ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^

Etta Sue - it's possible that I've seen better poetry, but I've never seen better sentiments than those in your poem! thanks for that. Your catty dancers are something, but the poem is more.
Woof Woof!
Smokey barks at the dancing cat.
Hi Everyone!
I'm so fed up lying down and resting!
I went to a meeting this evening but came home really tired. But I must say I'm starting to feel a bit better. Now if only I could get the results for my many tests! That will be next week.

Gotta quit speed readin' this site. At first I saw "Missing Underwear Photographer. Please pray for this man."
Whew, I'm glad I slowed down and backed up !
Ed, mesmerized in michigan
Well, this sure gave me a giggle
But the news wasn't good was it, Marilyn? I think they found his body. Sad.

That's such great news, Samantha! I've been praying for your little family.
I have lost my post twice so I will be back later.
Good Morning Everyone!
Just a quick little visit as I finish my coffee. My granddaughter has a friend coming so I have to get her cleaning her room! lol
Hope you all have a good day.
Marilyn, if there has been news of the scuba diver/uw/photographer, would you please let me know. I am very interested, as I feel such an affinity for this young man. It is so sad that he broke one of the cardinal rules of diving: NEVER DIVE ALONE!! It is just too easy for something to go wrong, and you need a buddy to help you out. :(
I'm going to help Darrel with an installation today. Yep, we are back to work.
I am so happy you are feeling a little stronger, Pat. I got a giggle out of that post, too; and I think that underWEAR photographer would also need prayer! ;)
Colin--come out, come out, wherever you are! We miss you around here!
Gotta run!
Hello, gang! Got lots going on and lots of work to do; we've got an installation to do at the Greenville Michelin plant next week and we're nowhere near as "ready" as I wish we were. Pray for me as I tried to foster a "stress free" attitude through a VERY stressful time.
I hope all of you have a good day. Praise God that the medication seems to be keeping my heartburn under control, but I'm still struggling with a lot of tension and fatigue.
:)
Janet there hasn't been anything new On the Diver in the news or in the paper yet.
Please pray for Linda her cancer has come back and is now in her brain. Her mother is one of my neighbors and her brother is the bass player on our worship team. She is also a pastor's wife.
Liz I see by the earthquake reports that I receive emails on, that there have been 3 on your island in the last week and a half all over 4.0 magnitude.
Today I am taking Ruth to the beauty school in Eureka to have her face waxed. One of Gilbert's friends is going to shampoo her rug today too. He will be there right before we leave.
I know I have been scarce around our coffee shop lately but I have been here reading several times per day. So many of our members no longer post here. Has anyone heard from Papa John? I see him come on line every day but I don't see any posts from him either here or on SN.
I didn't go to Curves this morning as I have to be at work early but I am going on my afternoon break at 1 pm. Then I will come home and walk the dogs if it isn't raining. Tomorrow is my day to be weighed and measured. I don't think I will see much change. It has been 6 months and I am still the same as when I started. well it took me years to put it on but I sure wish about 20 lbs would come off.
Hi everyone.
Just taking things easy today. Pat just left and won't be back until around 3 pm and then this evening we are going out to dinner with our friends who have returned after wintering in Florida. We are going to the Golden Corral as they have a very good buffet.
I spent the day yesterday working on the Senior Golden Olympics work and working with my son on making some modifications to the database program. He is very knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Access and he walked me through several changes I needed to make.
For several days I haven't been able to access my Gmail on my main desktop saying the cookie functionality is turned off. Early this morning I decided to try accessing it with the Linux system I have on my second computer here in my office. I have a KVM switch so it is simple to switch between computer. It worked very well and I no longer have to use my laptop to get my e-mail. I need to figure out what the problem is but this will work until I do.
We are having beautiful weather here although they are now talking about us being in a mini-drought. We do need rain. It is suppose to get to about 80 degrees here. Yesterday it was so warm I had to take off my sweatshirt as got too warm and that seldom happens. :)
Marilyn, I seldom see a posting from Papa John but occasionally I will see something on SeniorNet. I am also wondering what has happened to Colin and certainly miss his postings.
Nards, take a lot of deep breaths. I know well the impact that stress has on a person.
Janet, is Darrel feeling better?
Pat, good to see you posting and indicating you are beginning to feel better. You have had a long seige. Not feeling well certainly interferes with things we want to do.
Etta Sue, it is always nice to drive a new car. I have a friend who has one of the Toyota RAV 4 models and really loves it.
JudyB, glad you are getting John's mother situated temporarily until they get that elevator fixed. It sure has taken them a long time. I wouldn't think they would cash the rent check if they can't provide the living arrangement that is expected.
Karmat, you are tackling a big project with a cookbook. It is a lot of work but should be enjoyable especially if you enjoy cookbooks. My wife likes to spend time just looking at cookbooks.
Gord, I have often wished that I had sung in a barbershop group. We have a good one in our area but I am no longer able to participate in something like it. I do enjoy their programs and the quartets.
Hi Ruth Ann, Al, Smokey the Dog and anyone else that I haven't addressed specifically.
It is time for lunch so guess I better end this for today.
I am watching the clock & at ten I can call & try for free tickets to see Jane Goodall - the gorilla expert. Our g-daughter just loves animals & would love to go to this university lecture even though she is only almost ten years young.
Wishing everyone a healthy and stressless weekend - get plenty of rest. I will be at a quilter's gathering in Cheyenne. I am driving & picking up a neighbor & sure hope that it doesn't snow - it is supposed to be rain but at this elevation at this time of the year, one never knows.
Carol

I am still in awe of the photographs that the Underwater Photographer has on his website. When you look at them, it gives you peace of mind. They are really wonderful. And I am praying that they do find his body if for no other reason, that his family and friends will have closure.
Pat ~ I am praying that you regain your strength and that your tests gives you positive results...even if they determine only what is causing your tiredness!
Janet ~ I just knew you would love those underwater shots! Aren't they fabulous?
Marilyn ~ Don't be scarce. And I want to thank you for posting about the underwater photographer. I sent the links to the president of our Photography Guild. I see Papa John posting every day on SrNet. His health isn't as good as it was...is anybody's? So he is cutting down on computer time.
Al ~ I certainly agree the poetry in the poem was hard to follow but the message was right on!!
Smokey the Dog ~ I am glad Smokey liked the dancing cat...or disliked it. Today I am giving equal billing to the canine!
Nards ~ Get well quick. Take deep breaths and let all the stress out. I would say find a stress-free job but is there any out there today?
Larry ~ Cumputer guy! Is there a free spam fighter on the web that will stop spam in your emails by blocking 'words' from the content of the email. I am suddenly getting emails that are stock emails. Contents aren't bad...like some I have had in the past...but very annoying. I downloaded SpamFighter last night but it is only for 30 days and then I have to purchase it or delete it...but it didn't block a 'stock' spam this morning. What to do?
Carol ~ For some reason, I thought Jane Goodall was deceased. Was there a lady that was killed by gorillas in the wild? It must not have been Jane Goodall if she is lecturing at an university. Duh!
Last night at Photography Guild was photography lessons. I did learn something from my digital photography book for dummies!!! I know the thirds concept for composing but I thought you should put the subject in one of the 9 blocks/squares. But instead you should think of it as a tick-tack-toe grid and put the subject on an intersecting line. Duh! And if you have a color photo in PSP or PhotoShop and you want to change it to Black and White, you use Grayscale...that is black and white. If you change it to a true black and white, then that is like a pencil/ink drawing...no grays! Duh! So I guess you can teach an old dog (sorry, Smokey) new tricks!
Indiana got another downpour during the night. My sump pump is turning on about every minute. Water, water everwhere! My friend, Judy, left a message on my answering machine last evening to go out to eat with her for breakfast. Driving to Lapel this morning cleaned the under-carriage of my car!! So many puddles on the sides of the roads. Water, water everywhere! {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}}

I just uploaded the three photos I am entering in the Kokomo Photography Contest and one I considered but decided not to enter. You can see them in the Gallery (http://www.christianphotographers.com/gallery/index.php).
Etta Sue, you're learning lots of neat things in your Photographer's Guild group. Thanks for posting them here. I really am appreciative of what you learn, so I can learn too. :)
A beautiful day here. It's supposed to cloud up and begin raining tonight and then some wet and cold weather is forecast. I'm ready to get outside and do more violence to all the dead stuff and new weeds. :) Me, on a mission, and with my trusty garden clippers....we are a force to be reckoned with. (A force with which to be reckoned? lol)
Nita
Etta Sue - yer otter win with those photos. Nita, I think yer gonna lose.
Marilyn, are you saying then that the diver's body has NOT been found? (Pat thought it had been.) Such a sad loss.
Busy day today, so I am tired tonight.
Nita--go get 'em, girl! Those weeds better look out!
Etta Sue, your photography gets better and better! I didn't post comments on all, but they are really nice. Yes, those underwater photos are just wonderful! Hard to believe he got his first camera in 2004, isn't it?
Larry, hello and God bless.
Carol, that would be a fascinating lecture, I think. Hope you get tickets.
Howdy, Al.
Hi, friends,
Just restin' and readin' tonight. While I was doing a big file backup at work, I caught up my reading in here.
I've been also looking through the gallery as time permits. Beautiful, beautiful, intriguing photos.
Y'all are GOOD!
Ruth Ann
Janet and Pat NO! the diver's body has NOT been found. The Coast Guard is still on th elook out for it But not actively searching anymore according to the news last night. Nothing has been said on the news today or in the paper today.
It's sad about the diver. I had heard that they had found a body and I thought it was his but guess it wasn't.
It's really awful.
Good Saturday morning to all of you :)
Hi everyone.
It is going to be a warm and sunny day here but with a few clouds--no rain.
Just back from coffee and running a couple of errands. We have somewhere we have to be shortly after 10 so don't have much time this morning. I wrote such a long message yesterday I will be brief today.
Etta Sue, I use Google Gmail and it does a good job of filtering out spam. I just have my ISP forward all the email that may come to that account over to Gmail so it is all together. You can also set it to download POP3 mail but haven't done that as have been using Gmail for quite awhile and really like it. It is web based and has lots of storage capacity and I can access it from any computer I use regardless of where it is. I haven't used a special spam filter. The problem with those is that the spammers probably use a different identification with each spam message broadcast so it is a losing game.
Hope you all have a nice weekend.
Larry

Thanks for the comments on my pictures. It makes one feel it is worthwhile posting them when one gets comments.
Central Indiana has lost 4 people due to two people at different times going the wrong way on an interstate. One was a college girl driving back to Ball State and the other was a person going the wrong way and hit head on with another car. The first person was killed instantly and the passenger of the second car was killed instantly. The driver of the second car was taken to a hospital by helicopter but has passed away. So sad.
Pat ~ Perhaps the person found was a student at Purdue University. He was found after weeks being missing. He was found in a high voltage room that wasn't locked!
Nita ~ It is weird when you think all along you understood a theory and then find out you have been doing it wrong all along. I am still wanting to center subject which I do if it is a single flower that fills the frame. But I am learning but I know I won't be like some in my guild. 1) I don't have the money for the cameras, printers and other equipment. 2) I can't travel to get the diverse subjects that they get. I get teased and most of the time they are right when a photo of mine is shown on the overhead and finally asked who the maker is. I say Etta Sue. Then they ask if it was taken out of my bathroom window. Most of my photos are from my house!
Al ~ At least in this contest, all the photos are hung! That is a plus so I can say, it will be an honor if my photos are hung! ;)
Janet ! I truly believe that anyone who views the diver's photos is blessed. What a tribute to leave to the world.
Ruth Ann ~ When is retirement in your future. I know you keep putting it off. I know when one works it keeps your mind alert. That's what computers are for, right?
Marilyn ~ Do keep us informed about any information on the diver. After awhile it won't be news but perhaps it will be in your paper and TV. And thanks again for posting about him when he disappeared.
Larry ~ If I knew how to set up gmail, I would but I don't. The trouble with Spamfighter is it only blocked by email address. Not content or by a content word or two. I keep getting those stock emails. But like I say...much better than before when the emails were like what CP was getting! That's when I changed email addresses.
Nards ~ Good Saturday morning to you, too! :)
Where is Colin? COLIN!!!!! Where are you??
Jeannine......where are you??
Another night of no furnace running. I love it! Just wish it would stop raining so I could open up some windows and let the fresh spring air in my house. At least right now it wouldn't be dusty!! When I look out my windows I still see many, many pools of water! So much rain! My sump pump is still running about every 3 minutes. Yes, it has paid for itself this season.
Not much on my plate for today. Need to crochet and catch up on my TV shows!{{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}}

Good Morning folks...
We had such heavy rain all night. It was beating on the windows here and even Geordie thought someone was banging on the windows I think.
Nice to see you posting, Nards. I'm praying for you.
Yes, I wish Colin was back posting. I so love his posts and poetry.
I have to deliver some Avon today.
I'll be back later.
Typical day here on the island. No sun and lots of rain! :(
Marilyn, seems we get lots of 'little' earthquakes here....no one seems to notice. I guess it is simply a question of time until the 'big' one hits....think I will let God take care of the problem. How do you get your information? Is there a special site? Questions, questions.
Large, sad photo of a beautiful white cat and owner in our paper the other day. Cat is dying from the poison pet food. There have been other cases here on the island.....I feed the cats organic food and also Misty gets dental food from the vet. All dry products. Hope they are safe...who knows today. Why are we getting things from China that poison our pet food? Think what they might do to ours.....!
Lovely photo's from Etta Sue and Marilyn. I will go out and take pictures when we have some dry weather....maybe it would be wise to buy a camera that works under water??? Do believe that all the rain has turned my disposition moldy :ticked:
Here is a challenge for Colin....
No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver, or purple.
Will continue to pray for all the needs. Was sad to learn that gospel singer Gary Chapman again arrested on alcohol and drug use. He won many Dove awards and was married to Amy Grant, in case some not familiar with his work. Not easy to be a Christian in today's world. We need to stay strong in our faith.
Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.
Liz
:D Good day to all. Well have been reading through the post's and it so good to here all that is going on in your lifes. I have just found out that I have degenerative disc disease and this is what has been giving me the back pain. But thanks to the Lord I am getting some relief from the physio and the pain is a lot better but could please pray for me as it is very easy to throw your back out with just making a wrong turn. God is so good to us .
Etta Sue. Love your puter poem it was so good and also your beautiful pictures. God bless.
Al. How are you doing hope all is well.
Smokey and Owner. Very cute dog
Pat. It is soo good to see you posting more and it sounds that you are on the road to recovery. But still take it easy.
Janet I do hope that Darrel is getting stronger and we will continue to pray for him.
Nards. You seem that you are a very busy person but as others say take some deep breaths.
Marilyn. You also sound that you are busy and it seems yall keep working past 65 years old.
Hi Larry. It's nice to take it easy when you feel like it and not to have to rush around. Golden Corral is a good place to eat as you have so much choices and yes I have a great time when I go to the choir but it makes for a very long day. <3
Carol. I have the same question I thought that Jane goodall was deceased. Hope that you are both keeping well.
Nita. Do you want to come up and do a mission work on my gardens it sure would save me a lot of time. <3
May the Lord richly bless you all this weekend.
Good Afternoon everyone.
I just wanted to stop by and catch up on everyone.
Colin I pray that as you help sort out your Father's estate you remember that we are missing and praying for you and your family.
I will be going to a sewing class at the end of the month. The cost is only $10. I have to bring my sewing machine, two pairs of sicissors, a yard of small patterned fabric and a sweatshirt. The end result will be a "sweatjackt" with a cut-out pattern in it. When talking to my girlfriend, she called to see if there were any spaces left, and there was one available only because of a cancellation that had just come in. I am really looking forward to it.
I was at my parents for dinner last night and my dog Noelle was spoiled by them. She got roast beef and apple pie and old cheese to snack on. I am really having a hard time remembering what life was like without her.
Now must get back to work and sort out the computer room and bookcases some more. I moved the computer upstairs last weekend and things are still kind of wonky and in boxes.
>:( There are gremlins in here again! And they whacked my post! :P :ticked:
We have been out to the health fair today. And Mark just called to invite us down for supper, because it is Jeff's birthday tomorrow (son-in-law.) Mark has been asked by a girl he knew in high school to take her to the Prom tonight; so I will get to take prom photos. :)
Sue, nice to see you posting. What kind of dog is Noelle? Glad you are enjoying her. Want to come over and do some sorting, moving, and cleaning for me? ;)
I guess I'd better be about getting ready to go to Hugoton. See you later.
Etta Sue it is always so nice when other's comment on our photos or let us know that they looked at them. Thank you for commenting on mine in the gallery.
Jane thank you also for commenting where they are posted in Photos Here. I think Liz, Carol and a couple of others looked at them too and commented in this thread.
Al was by here this morning to checkout some CD's that Chris sent to him. Wow they were awesome slideshows of some of Chris and Margits photographs with Scriptures. They are so talented.
I went to town and bought a new bed just a little while ago. Hey Al I went to Vern's there is an Englander Mattress sale going on right now. They deliver and take aways the old set as well. I will get the new one on Monday.
I'm feeling just a little bit down today, Gilbert yelled at me on the phone last night and said some pretty hurtful things. Please pray for us.
Don't be sad, Marilyn. Sometimes our kids use us to vent. I will (and have) prayed and God is watching over you and your kids.
Not usually on the computer this much. Taking a break between cooking dinner for the kids and making a pot of chili for their dinner tomorrow. Sometimes Wendy needs a little break. Saying they like my chili best always works ::)
Gord Brown, you and I have the same sort of back problem. It's the pits! I am using Infrared treatments now and it does give some relief from the pain. Not a cure, simply helps and can help heal the body. Not covered by our medical....but then what is. Thought you might find this of interest....entirely up to you.
Back to the kitchen. Wish I could sew like Sue. Sounds like fun.
God Bless,
Liz
Marilyn, I will be praying for y'all. I'm so sorry that Gordon was unkind.
I had lunch with friends today, and then went to the grocery. So, stopped in my home office to rest a bit and enjoy reading at my leisure.
Etta Sue, I'm not sure about retirement. One of the major factors may be my health. Of course, the carpal tunnel surgeries (first one on Tuesday morning) will have a great bearing on whether I can continue to work. And, the docs are really concerned about my anemia - are going to do gastrointestinal testing - they believe I may have a blood loss problem. He says I'm almost to the state that they need to do a transfusion.
But, as the email that comes around fairly often says, I need to put all this into the SFGTD inbox - that's Something for God to Do. He knows who I am and loves me and will guide me through whatever's ahead. Of that I'm certain.
Y'all have a good afternoon and evening.
Ruth Ann
There was a student in Mexico last week who disappeared. It was his body that was found. He was a Canadian.
I have had a busy day. I sent John off to work, about noon, and after he left I cut out a dress for Elizabeth. I have material for Kassie but not nearly enough to do what I want....that will have to wait. I also have an outfit for Drake ready to sew. Boy is he ever growing.
Pat do you remember the "rag curls" dad used to put into our hair? Well I tried them on the girls. It looks so funny.
We have snow today. Started as rain, and has turned into snow. Not sure if this is our "crow snow" or not. Time will tell.
A friend informed us that his Dad because of cancer has been given a life expectency of 3 - 6 months. When we visited last he was looking forward to going Home. Keep the family in prayer. Sad for them but a celegration for him.
Well Mom is here. She is relaxed, and laughing. Still very tired from going down 50 stairs, but she made it.
I must go, I want to chase the girls to bed early and turn in early myself.
I continue t pray for the needs here.
Love JudyB
Ruth Ann my son's name is Gilbert. Thank you for your prayers.
Marilyn, I'm also sorry that Gilbert was unkind, but as Liz said, maybe he was venting; and maybe it really had nothing to do with you. They feel safe venting on moms, because moms always forgive and keep on loving them. It has happened to me before, too. (((hugs)))
Ruth Ann, I surely hope they find the reason for your severe anemia and get it stopped. You have had more than your share of problems.
We just returned from Hugoton. Mark and his date had dinner with us, because the restaurant they had planned on going to was closed. We had a really nice evening with all of them. Abby is sitting here beside me now, reading as I type, so I must be careful what I write about HER. ;)
Liz, don't overdo. I hope you are feeling better now. We were to have a chili feed tomorrow at church, but it has been postponed for some unknown reason. Now we will have to make different plans. :ticked:
I need to get ready for bed and get Abby to bed, too. When she's here, she likes to stay up as long as I do. ^-^
Hi everyone. It is another beautiful Sunday morning in Georgia. I have the back door to the screened in porch open and we are enjoying the fresh air in the house.
I have another fairly busy day planned. We will go to church but not out to lunch as the youth are doing a spaghetti dinner this evening to raise funds for their summer mission projects. We have never attended this event as Pat doesn't care for the spaghetti so we don't attend. However, the after church group doesn't generally go out to eat when these events occur.
There are two ladies from the Golden Olympics that I have been working with the last few weeks that are coming by this afternoon to go over the database and reconcile what I have with what they have. I am missing a few of the entries. They also have more entries that have been received so will do those and get the reports to the lady that is handling that part of the paperwork. They have to put together packages for each entrant with a t-shirt and other information and on the front of the packet is the individual report. It has been a big job but this should be the year with the heaviest workload as we had to design the new database and work through what we wanted in the way of reports. This is the last week for entries and then have some final reports to print out for the event managers and final totals. It has been an interesting job.
Marilyn, I hope you won't fret over what your son said. If you didn't cause it you certainly can't control what he says or thinks. However, I understand that these things hurt at the time but we just have to keep them in perspective. Hope you enjoy your new bed that you are getting on Monday. That is something that Pat and I must replace one of these days as well as have had ours for a very long time.
Janet, it is so wonderful that your grandchildren want you to be a part of their life. That is something we have basically missed in our lives having never been close to our granddaughter and now our great grandchildren. I know you will enjoy your time with Abby. I hope Darrel is feeling much better today.
Pat, I hope the rain didn't keep you awake as I know you need the sleep to aid your recovery.
JudyB, don't think I ever heard of "crow snow" before. Does it have something to do with the return of the crows to the north for the summer? Certainly sad news about your friends father.
Ruth Ann, that anemia sounds rather frightening. Hope it can be taken care of soon and that it doesn't interfere with your surgery this week. How long do you expect to be off work?
Liz, I saw that Japan had suffered a pretty severe earthquake during the night or yesterday. We occasionally have a little one in this area but not too worried as we live on land that is a part of Stone Mountain and it makes a pretty good base.
Sue, I hope you enjoy your sewing class. My wife and her good friend are going to a quilt shop on Thursday to look for fabric to back a quilt that her friend is making for her son. Pat never likes to miss an opportunity to go to a quilt shop. That is sort of like me never missing the opportunity to go to the computer store. :)
Gord, it sounds like you at least know what is causing your back problems and perhaps how to avoid aggravating the situation.
I am also missing the postings from Colin. I hope that he will soon be able to join with us again. There are also quite a few others who once posted fairly often that we seldom hear from anymore. It would be nice if they just stopped in to say hi even if they don't have time to write very much. Of course, this is a normal situation with message boards and is not unanticipated.
Hope this is a wonderful day for you all. After finishing with the Golden Olympics work this afternoon there are a lot of good basketball games to watch featuring both men and women as they come down to the final four in each. There were some great games yesterday.
hi all just passing through off for another busy day and running behind hope all is well welp see ya later!
Sarah
Good Morning I am all ready for church and it is pouring rain. That means my hair won't stay curled for very long. This will be our first day of a 4 day Revival Both services today and then night through Wednesday. He has been here 3 times before. I amlooking forward to the services. We hare having a Spaghetti feed after church to benefit the Children's Ministry.
Thank you all for your prayers I am confident that soon he will call like nothing at all has transpired. Although it may keep him from telling me things that mean a lot to him. Sarah's parents know my son better than I do and more about them.
Pat what does "No Name" mean underneath our names.

I love it!! I had windows open yesterday and plan to open some today! No worry about dust flying in through the windows...it is still too wet out there. Bright and sunny here and it is getting greener every day. Soon you will hear about my mowing again!! ;D
Church was great today. So similar to a prayer meeting in both services. Still the sermons was on the persecuted because of trying to spread God's word. There are over 2 million TODAY that are being persecuted because they are spreading the Word. So sad!
Then a couple from my old small group asked me to have lunch with them. Their son, DIL and 8 month old granddaughter joined us. She is soooo cute. I filled my car up with gas and got me a cappucino. Then stopped for a few items at the grocery store.
Now I feel a nap comin ZZZZZzzzzz!!"++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++"

I'm sorry to have bad news, but this has been a terrible afternoon, and I just need to vent! Abby and the little neighbor girls were out walking with the dogs, when the other neighbor's big German Shepherd dog ran up, grabbed poor little Mieka, bit clear through her, and ran away, shaking the life out of her. Abby ran after them, and hit the big dog with her water bottle until it dropped Mieka. One of the little girls ran screaming to her mom, who quickly drove over, picked up the dog, wrapped her in a baby blanket and brought her and Abby to me, but it was too late; Mieka was dead. It is just the grace and protection of God the dog didn't attack Abby when she went to the little dog's aid!
I then had the heartbreaking task of calling Beth and telling her her beloved pet was gone. She got hysterical, as did Gloria, who was in her room visiting. I asked if Beth wanted me to bring the dog so she could hold her one last time; she said yes, so Abby and I took her to the care home. Beth held her and cried, Gloria cried; they took the dog to the couple's room that also loved the dog; he held the dog and cried and prayed for her to rest easy; then they took her to Beth's grandma's room (my mom) and she also cried. :'( :'( :'( Then we brought her home and Darrel helped me bury her. Abby marked the grave.
Of all the dogs in this world; why did it have to be the one Beth loved so much? She was the only "baby" she had; and she can never have another that will love her and know she belongs to Beth, because she can't have one there in the home. It just isn't fair.
Janet: I am so sorry. Here I am back from a fun-filled quilting weekend and reading your sad news. No, it just isn't fair. The owners need to really train their dogs not to attack and thank the Lord that the girls were not hurt.
The tickets to Jane Goodall were all taken - she is still alive. I guess she is more known for chimps than gorillas - I think but today, am so tired of chatting until 1 A.M., and sewing hours upon hours plus I drove and so many things that poor Don fixed his own dinner tonight & I only managed to make a snack for us.
Marilyn: Blessings to you and a hug. It is difficult when children say hurtful things.
Carol
Janet, my heart just breaks...for Beth, for you, and for all those who loved Mieka. Some things that happen seem so senseless and we have so many questions for God.
Oh, poor Beth. This is like losing a little child.
I'm wrapping my arms around all of you in prayer, honey.
Right now, all I know to do is just pour out tears to our Father. Beth's Father, your Father. I know He'll accept that as my prayer for you all. Nita
Janet I, too, am just lost for words with which to reply to your sad, sad news. I can't even imagine how all of you are feeling. With Nita, I am wraping my arms around you all and lifting you up for our Father to wipe your tears and take you onto His lap and hold you tight while He pours healing salve over your pain. :'( :'( <3
Janet, I am so very sorry. Thank goodness (and God) that the children are safe. Please know that you are all being prayed for.
God Bless,
Liz
How sad, how sad, Janet. And, I worry because Abby saw the entire incident.
My prayers for all of y'all.
Ruth Ann
