Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Hi everyone.  I am sure I heard it raining some during the night and just now, about 4:30 pm) it is raining.

The lady from the Appliance Doctor company came about 2 pm yesterday.  When she opened the refrigerator door she immediately spotted the problem.  The little trap door where you dispense the ice is not working properly and has to be replaced.  This was letting the outside air into the freezer all the time and causing the ice to freeze up in the ice bin from the bottom and frost to accumulate on the freezer itself.  She is ordering the part and should be back next week to install it.  She had us put a clean dishrag into the dispensing slot to block the air and told us we could go ahead and make the ice and use it by taking it out of the bin and not dispensing it.

The repair lady then put a cup of water in the microwave to check it out and it worked perfectly.  So we will use it for a week and see if the problem returns.  Pat tried to use it the morning and the old problem appeared.  We will keep trying.  She thought the other microwave had failed but it was the GFI switch that needed to be reset.  The result was a very, very short repair person visit and a good outcome.  Today I had my ROMEO's men's luncheon.  I also ran  some errands got my hair cut.   After resting for a couple of hours when I got home from the luncheon I contacted DISH Network about the problem we had in the kitchen.  Fortunately the person I spoke with was able to help me and it is working again.  I am staying home this evening.

Etta Sue, perhaps you should call your doctor's nurse and discuss it with her.  You don't want to fool around with your head.  (Glad to see you are seeing the doctor and what the nurse told you).

I have never agreed with the concept of the loser getting a prize as it just doesn't seem right unless it is a silly prize.

Janet, the Home Products dinner sounds like a wonderful community event.

Judy, if you reformat the disk and reload everything it will get rid of the virus.  Doing the Windows non-destructive process probably wouldn't. I hope you had your address book and any important files backed up so you can recover them.

Marilyn, glad your shoulder pain is gone.  Pat went to Bible study yesterday but by bedtime she was so stiff and in so much pain she could hardly walk.  She still hasn't felt at all well today.

Janet

Etta Sue, I am so glad you went ahead to see what your problem is.  It sounded kind of scary!  My friend Pat has a burning sensation that goes up the side of her head to the top.  Doctors couldn't figure it out, but our dentist gave her the name of it the other day.....unfortunately, he also said there isn't anything that can be done about it.   :-\

Lord, grant me more patience!  This house job is going SO slowly!  I'm thinking it's going to be Christmas before it's finished at this rate!  Today, the bathroom walls were given another coat of the Venetian plaster, and the shower door installed.  We were so hopeful the tile would be put on the floor in there!  Ah, well....maybe tomorrow.

I got busy hanging paintings in the living room, just didn't feel like home without those.  I told Darrel I didn't remember it being that hard before, and he said that's because I didn't do it all in one day before, but over a period of time.  And (as usual) he is right.

The weather here today was PERFECT!  Lovely!  Thank you, God!

Oh, Larry!  When eight of us ladies get together for Euchre, there are no losers!  It's too much fun to tag 'loser' to it.  We are all winners...even the 8th place winner.   ;)

Ivalou and I did go water playing yesterday.  I played, she rehabbed!  I was to be out of the water by 5:30 and she had rehab at 5:30.  The therapist said it would have been okay for me to be in the water the same time but I was already water-logged so I got out.

Then Ivalou and I went to Arby's for dinner.  They have their chicken tenders back here in Indiana.  Love those chicken tenders!

I watched TV all evening and slept wonderful all night!

Today I go for a checkup with my Botox doctor.  I don't remember doing that the last time.  Oh well!  Medicare will take care of it and he will become a tad richer!  Then my fur-girls need dry cat food and I need some items at WalMart.  When Ivalou doesn't go with me, I get fridge and freezer items.  I never know how long she will take and don't want things to spoil or melt waiting on her...sometimes up to 45 minutes.  She is sooo slow but she has come a long way since her stroke two years ago today!

Then I hope to come home and rest....unless it stops raining and becomes sunny enough to dry the grass so I can mow!

Oh, my head is still swollen but not near as painful.  Hopefully the antibiotics are helping!

Is there a good anti-spam on the internet that is free?  I get 10-15 Spams on Windows Mail daily!!  I always click to unsubscribe if it allows it and/or block the Domain and block the Sender.  They go to my Junk mail most of the time but what I do above isn't working since I keep getting the same stuff back.

Hi everyone.  We had a really nice rain last evening with no wind.  Things have really greened up again this morning.  Just back from coffee at the senior center.  I plan on staying home all day today.  I did enough running yesterday.  I did call Dish Network yesterday and go the problem with my kitchen TV reception worked out.  I will just be working on a few projects on the computer this morning and then have a quiet afternoon.

Janet, had you had a really nice day weather wise yesterday even if the work is going slowly.

Etta Sue,  it sounds like you play Euchre like we used to play bridge in it being more about the social event than the game.

Carol

Oh, being a grandmother is just as nerve-wracking as being a mom.  When you get a phone call and the first words are "Now, we don't want you worrying" -     In this case, one g-son was hit very hard in his kidney area and at the hospital (this is the one who had kidney surgery several times as a toddler).  He is fine but that was scary.  He is actually not in football - a band member but just playing.  Today, not worrying - meeting with Don's internist.  He wrote a letter to the head of the system here & got attention immediately.  Two calls from a doctor yesterday - he is getting a new doctor without waiting & they will handle the issues of no follow-ups with his former care.  It is for the good of all patients to have the system know when something is very wrong.

I read all the notes last night & send prayers for all.

Jeanne Lee

Etta Sue, when you click on the "unsubscribe" link - or sometimes even open the email - you are sending a signal that they have reached a valid email address.  They can then distribute it to other spammers as well as keep sending to you.  Best thing is just to send those directly to your trash without opening.  Anything I get with a name and/or subject I don't recognize gets deleted.  I might on a very rare occasion miss something legitimate, but it's up to that person to rectify.

I'm glad you did go to the doctor's office to see about that spot on your head.  Infections are nothing to fool around with.

I had to go, last week, with a sore on the back of my hand that wasn't healing .  I had scraped a piece of skin right off and it had started to heal nicely.  Then I bumped it and opened it up again - twice!   So now I'm changing the dressing and applying antibiotic ointment twice a day, as well as twice a day taking oral antibiotics for four more days.  The nurse warned me to be sure and have plenty of yogurt to make sure I don't get a yeast infection due to the oral antibiotic.   Hardest so far is to keep the dressing dry - shower, shampoo, dishes aren't easy with a plastic bag or rubber glove.   :)

Good morning everyone. It is over cast here on the south coast of Oregon, it is 63° with a weather alert that it is going to rain and be colder this weekend. Well the weekend is already here. It feels a  lot warmer and is very humid or muggy whatever you want to call it. I have been to the gym to work out and i don't have anything on my to do list for today. I  did some cleaning yesterday and some creating in both Photoshop and PSP, I will do more of that today. I also did a little crocheting on the Baby Afghan and started knitting another dishcloth. I can only do so much of the handwork until my hands start to hurt, especially the left hand that I had the surgery on. You can see the  Photoshop creation by clicking on  my blog.

Marilyn, I also praise God that your shoulder pain is gone. !

Larry, your activity level puts me to shame - in fact that applies to so many of those who post here.

Today, I have a rattly cough - most likely from allergies. I think we just seem to have more little things like this to deal with - possibly because we're not as active as we once were... :-\

At any rate, please pray for my brother who is dealing with employment issues and waiting for God to guide in his decision making.

Love to you all,
Ruth Ann

[/b]I'm still hanging around here!

The shower is FINALLY done, and it is beautiful!  And the tile is laid--partly!  That's what I drove to Garden to get on Wednesday, he said he needed 60 sq. ft. and I asked specifically if he added a few to be sure, in case some got broken or something---he said yes.  So I got 60 sq ft.....and he ran out!!  Looks as if her needs another 20 or so.  So he went to Garden to get it.  I was really concerned, because I bought all that was on display, and wasn't sure there was any more to be had, since it was on sale, might have been a close-out!  So I called a while ago, and Lon said yes, he got more; they had jut gotten in another pallet of the same tile.  Whew! :P  What a relief.  But it still means several hours of work time lost.  Phooey.

An artist friend came out to look at the mural I painted on the dining room wall around and between the stained glass windows with parrots; to give me an estimate of what she would charge to repaint it.  The insurance company asked for that.  I was happy and surprised when her estimate was $800.00.  I know I am bad about pricing my work way too low.  Now....do I want to redo it, or have someone else do it for me?  Hmmmm..........

Tomorrow is great-granddaughter Lexi's fourth birthday, which meant I needed to go find a gift for her, which I have done.

Carol, so glad your grandson is okay.  Kidney stuff is so scary!  I have only one kidney myself.

I got an author's questionnaire to fill out,  so after doing that I read through my book again.  Since all this mess with the house, my mind hadn't been on the book as much, so thought that prudent.

Okay, I'm outa here! :run:

Hi everyone.  I enjoyed a nice, quiet day at home yesterday.  Got several small projects here in my office done and that was about it.  Today will be a little busier but just the normal Saturday morning activities and then will rest and watch football and read this afternoon and evening.

Carol, that would be scary considering your grandson's previous medical history.  Glad he is OK.  Glad that Don is getting quick attention from the medical world.

Jeanne, I agree that we should put something in the email title that would indicate an email is legitimate.  Of course, I don't follow my own advice very often especially with friends I correspond with often.  I sure wouldn't want my nurse to tell me I had to eat yogurt.  UGH!

Marilyn, you are very artistic.

Ruth Ann, sometimes my activity list seems more daunting than it actually is.  I do feel grateful to be able to keep going and get somethings done daily.  I am having to pick up more and more of the things that Pat does to spare her of the pain of being on her feet.  She did get out for a couple of hours yesterday but paid the price for it.  I am glad I can be of help to her.  I am still resisting learning to cook but that may become necessary in the future.

Janet, we had the same experience with our roof when they lacked the shingles needed to complete one side of the garage.  However, it all worked out well.  That must be quite a mural but can image how beautiful it is.

Janet

Must be a busy Saturday!  Only Larry and I in here so far.  I was up early and got a lot of stuff done; am still working on it.

Lovely weather here again today!  Thank you, Lord!  I love this type of weather!

Our carpenter hasn't shown up yet, but said he would be later today, as he is starting on putting the cabinets together for the bathroom.  He needs to grout the tile in there so we can try out our beautiful now shower!

I'm doing "stuff"..... little chores that add up to big ones if not kept up.  There's Lon now! :)

Another of those "J" nights - sleep for 1/2 hour, awake for three, etc.  But at around 6:00 I fell back to sleep and didn't wake up until 10:00.  It's good to get some uninterrupted sleep time, but starting the day that late sure throws all schedules out the window.   :D

Larry, eating yogurt is no hardship for me.  But even though I do enjoy it, this is a little much.  Only another 3 days, though.  :)

OK I am back with very limited usage.  Larry you were right that link you sent didn't work.  nor did reformatting.  we would up having to buy a new hard drive...(think that is the word) and a new windows disc, to get me up and running.  Heather still has my old hard drive, and will be still trying to "cleanse" it.  She managed to save all my documents, and they are virus free, just there was something wrong that she couldn't reload the windows onto it.  At least I am up and going again.

Marilyn

Yogurt? I love yogurt, I buy the Mountain High low fat Plain yogurt and I add a teaspoon of ground flax seed, ½ teaspoon of organic cinnamon and ½ teaspoon of brown sugar mix it real well and then eat it, I have it every morning for breakfast.  I love yogurt!! Just had to repeat that.

Overcast here today, it is supposed to rain and be windy tomorrow. I have bathed Happy  already and am on my 3rd cuppa  :coffee: I have the towels in the washer and the bath tub and floor have been cleaned.

Larry sorry to hear that Pat is in so much pain and thank you for your compliment.

Jeanne sorry you had trouble sleeping last night.  I used to have nights like that before I got a CPAP machine. Have you been tested?

Well, I went to the Botox doctor for a checkup.  He wanted to see me in 3-4 months but I talked him out of it!!  I go back in 6 months for the next Botox injection.

I got the furgirls dry cat food.  Then I ate lunch at Steak and Shake.  It isn't on the menu but I got their Snack Pack.  A hamburger, fries and small drink for $3.15.  Plenty enough for me.

Then I was off to Walmart for fridge and freezer items.

It was nice and sunny so when I got home and put everything away I mowed the grass.  I used the last of the mower gas so checked out Gas Buddy on Droid to see the prices of gas.  Lapel was 16 cents higher than Noblesville so I went back to Noblesville to fill two containers of mower gas and top off the car.  I saved over $1.60 but drove 11 miles opposed to 3 miles.  Did I save or not?  It was a good relaxing drive though.

The rest of the evening was spent resting and watching TV.

I haven't been out of bed very many minutes and I am cold this morning.  The one reason why I haven't been out of bed very long.  My head is so much better.  At least, it doesn't have that burning sensation all the time.  Only ouchy when I touch a much smaller spot!  I do believe the antibiotics are working.  Jeanne, maybe I should have gotten some yogurt also.  I don't do plain yogurt...it tastes awful to me and makes my teeth feel like they have sweaters on them!!  Can't get that taste out of my mouth.

Today is a do-nothing day.  I am caught up on TV shows so will probably read today.

I'm back from my trip from home/Toronto/Montreal/Ottawa/Toronto/home - 2900 km or 1800 miles  :) We had a marvelous time and met up with many of our friends from 40 years ago.

I just finished talking to JudyB.....  she is having modem problems. She's now running Windows7 (I'm still in the learning curve with it) however her modem doesn't work properly... She sends her love to you all.

By the way. Was the "Forum" shortcut replaced by something else. I can reach the same window by clicking "Home".... just wondered. Also have not found the Picture Gallery; how do I find it?

I DO like the look..... another learning curve, but that's GOOD!!  It keeps the wires in my brain active.

Jeanne Lee

Ruth, sometimes I think those wires in my brain are short-circuited!   :D

I don't know why you can't use your previous shortcut to get in here - mine directly to the main menu works fine.  You may need to set a new shortcut.  Possibly something to do with Win7?

The Gallery is the next-to-last choice in the line at the top of every page - the one that starts with "Home".

Oooops, Jeanne Lee, how did I miss that!! - (the Gallery)
Thank you!!

Prayers for those experiencing employment issues.

Gearing up for a full week of things on the calendar.  Weather is just great but a little too warm even.  I washed and dried sweaters today and they did dry so quickly.

Janet

Yawn.......I'm up way too early again.  Dog woke both of us around 3:30; Darrel finally found her, caught up by her collar inside a wall of the garage.  Dumb dog!  Anyway, once she settled down, then I couldn't get back to sleep.  Hope I am not  :sleepy: in church.  But I think I will try to get a little nap now, since I feel sleepy again.

HI everyone.  Being Sunday morning I was able to sleep in a bit later than usual.  We had a really beautiful day here yesterday and another on tap for today.  I am ready for church but it is still a couple of hours before we will be leaving.  I am not sure whether Pat is going to feel up to going or not.  Sometimes that is a last minute decision.  Nothing major accomplished yesterday.  I should have a quiet afternoon and evening.

Janet, glad that things are coming together.  It is nice to get up early and begin to accomplish things to mark off the list.

Jeanne, sorry about the sleepless night.  Glad you were able to get some restful sleep even if it came late.

JudyB, if the hard drive still works as indicated by saving your documents I am surprised that Heather couldn't reformat the disk and reinstall.  It is always a good idea to keep your Windows license number written down somewhere since you can use any Windows disk to load the software but must have a valid license.  The Magical Jelly Bean program works well for capturing various license numbers for future reference.  However, sounds like you are back on track with a new hard disk and windows.

Marilyn, glad to hear you like yogurt.  You can have all of mine.  :)

Etta Sue, how can you go to Steak and Shake and not have a shake?  I ate there on Thursday and it was good, especially the Orange Freeze.  You probably about broke even on the gas depending on your gas mileage.

RuthV, going to have to shake you and Pat and Paul up in a sack as you all have done a lot of traveling recently.  Glad you had a great trip.

Carol, your dry air in the Denver area must help clothes dry quickly.  It sounds like you have a busy week ahead.

Jeanne Lee

Right now the sun is shining and the temperature is quite mild.  But the forecast is for scattered showers and thunderstorms for the coming week.  I guess we'll know what we're going to get when we get it!   ;D

Al Moak

Well, our day started a little differently today - with  power outage.  It lasted around 3 hours, starting around 4:15 AM.  Marbeth uses a  CPap machine, so she had to get a pillow to raise up here head.  I went to my recliner, got a couple more hours.  Then we went down to Denny's for breakfast, and now here we are at home again.  Actually, I don't know what time it started, but when I opened my eyes it was very, very dark!  Well, gotta go shave, or I'll look like a caveman.

Jeanne Lee

Not fun when the power goes out, Al.  I'm only concerned when it's in the winter and of course my furnace won't work.  But I'm always surprised at how many times I try to turn on something that needs electricity.   :)

I had a 'J' night last night.  Couldn't think of a man's last name that I knew at Park Chapel.  Finally got up at 1am, looked at the old church directory and found out it was Thompson.  Then I still couldn't go back to sleep.

The alarm went off at 7 and I got to church in plenty of time.  I ran the projector system today and then 4 of us ladies went out to O'Charley's for lunch.

Home until 3:45 when I leave, get Ivalou and Betty and go to church for a Birthday party.  Church women only and if you have had or will have a birthday in 2011, you are invited.  We picked up the birthday cake while in Noblesville and it says 'Happy Birthday to All'.

Hope I can sleep tonight.

Carol

Picturing Al as a Caveman!   :D  Good that Marbeth does alright with a raised pillow - it sounds like you two may need an afternoon nap.

Larry:  Yes, it is great for not having mold in showers, etc.  Dry on the skin though.  I tried to dry a starfish in Sitka, Alaska for one month and when we returned to Denver it was still moist.  It didn't take long & just disintegrated into dust on a Colorado porch.

Etta Sue:    Love you sleeping puppy, sure doesn't look like a guard dog but maybe a tracking dog.

Jeanne:  We sure depend too much on the power.  It is more of a concern in winter and ice storm but we don't get many ice storms here - it is powder snow usually except in the spring.

Janet

I am home, but headed to the chair or bed for a nap!  I can hardly keep my eyes open.

The youth made a spaghetti dinner and we got three plates to go, went to the home and ate with Beth (she went to church with us) and I fed her.  Came home, changed clothes and took everything out of the little bathroom off the laundry room except for basic needs for the next couple of days as that is the next project on the list.

Talk to you later!  zzzzzzzzz
