JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

...sorry to hear about Geordie Pat.His picture was the first picture I think i looked at on this site.A beautiful dog and companion.

geoff t in Adelaide south australia.

Thank you Geoff!  He was a very special dog.  I realize that we all think that our dog was just the most special and that's fine.  I will miss him so much.  My neighbour two doors down the road just wept when she heard.  She said, "I'll miss Geordie so much this summer barking at my door for a treat!"  He was a friend to so many.  He knew where Dianne's treats where and he'd go to her door, bark and bark till she opened the door and then he'd go straight to the cupboard where she kept the treats.  ;)

Yes, it's going going to be a strange time without him.

Janet, how's Darrel today?  What a time he's having!  Please give him a hug for me.

Congratulations, Sarah!  Sounds like Ruth Jean is a very good baby with already sleeping good at night.  Can't wait to see photos!!!

Well, I know I am not alone today but snow is everywhere.  I got the trash to Kaye Don's drive but told Ivalou that it isn't necessary to put ourselves in danger by going to the rehab center today.  So we are both home looking out at the snow instead of being out in it!  Traffic is going pretty good but this snow isn't to stop all day and we would be at the rehab for 4 hours!

So she is scheduled to go next Thursday.  But I can't take her...that Thursday is the day for my class luncheon.  So Marge is going to take Ivalou.

I really need to do some constructive cleaning here at home today and tomorrow before the mattress delivery.  Move things around so they have a straight...well, wide enough path to bring in the mattress set and remove the old.

Time for another

Janet

Thanks for the inquiries about Darrel.  He got his 4th big shot today, is feeling better but not completely back yet.  Says his hind quarters sure are getting sore from the shots!

All of us will mis Geordie, Pat. But not nearly as much as as you. (((hugs)))  And I did give Darrel that hug from you.  :)

We got frost again last night and it's really cold, but no snow.  :(

It looks as if I might be going back to work again.  The cooks at the Senior Center quit, and I may fill in until they find some more.  But I have made it clear that I don't want a permanent job!  Darrel teased me, saying, "If I'd known you were into hard labor, I'd have put you to work a long time ago!"  ;D

I'm looking forward to seeing photos of little Ruth Jean.  She weighed exactly the same as Beth did when she was born.

Larry, I know what you mean about them making such a big deal of the weather.  I figure it must be a slow news day when they do that, but it can be annoying.

Good to see you here, Geoff!  And lots of folks here would take some of that heat, if you can figure out how to send it their way!  ;)

Ruth

Sarah:  Keep getting enough rest.
Ruth Jean:  Please be a good girl for mommy.

Pat:  I can be sure that you will miss Geordie he had been a friend for a very long time. He was always there to give comfort.

Each day I do the usual tidy up but a bag or two gets filled for the garbage or recycle mostly it goes to the garbage since the recyle store only wants matched sets not just one.  I can't complain to much as I picked an almost new exercise bike or $10.00.

I have or had not really sure a virus of some kind that wants to hang on real tight, most days are good then it decides to return to say hello I am still around.

I was given a Lifechanging book to read by Andy Stanley -- called Since Nobody's perfect  HOW GOOD is good enough?  Has anyone read it and what do you think?  The person that gave it to me was not impressed but please understand - perhaps offense was the reason.  I had mixed thoughts as well. I will be giving it a reread and perhaps will change my view.   Please give me your thoughts if you have read this little book.

Blessings Ruth

Janet

No, Ruth, I haven't read it, but I sure would like to!  Hope you feel much better tomorrow!

I am going to be cooking tomorrow at the Senior Center--chili and cinnamon rolls!
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

JudyB

Ohhhh Janet save me a cinnamon roll!!!

Ruth no I haven't read it.

Sarah I agree with the others we need to see pictures!

Jeanne Lee

Ruth, I haven't read that book but it does sound interesting.

Chilly here again this morning...  20 or -12, depending on how you read your thermometer, and probably will stay right around there all day.  I think it's a day I'll stay inside.   ;)

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We had a little snow and ice overnight and basically most things are closed down here today.  There is no school around the area, the men decided not to meet for coffee and my Learning Center meeting and other plans for the day have been canceled as it is very cold and best to stay in.  It is not suppose to get above freezing until Monday.  So I have a full day ahead and wonder if I will get anything important done.

The tv stations are reporting the same news about the weather over and over again.

Janet, I hope you don't work too hard at your job.  It is nice of you being willing to fill in.  Glad that Darrel is feeling somewhat better.

Ruth, I haven't heard of the Andy Stanley book you mentioned.  He has a big church here in Atlanta.

Sarah, glad you are home from the hospital and things are going so well with Ruth Jean.

Etta Sue, it sounds like you made a good decision yesterday to stay home and not risk problems in the snow storm.

Etta Sue

Janet ~ Just what you need...to go to work again!  I just hope that you put your foot down when they keep adding hours and weeks to your schedule.  You are to 'help'...not stay!

Sarah ~ So glad you are home and can now get some rest.  You can't do that in the hospital.  I saw Ruth Jean pictures on Facebook.  She is a cutie patootie!!  Would love to hold her and feel and smell her new baby face.

Jeanne Lee ~ Your weather is colder than mine.  I always say...it can be bad (anything) for you but someone is having it worse (anything).

Ruth ~ I am the same way.  Each day I try to tidy up...put things away and clean.  And throw away or put away for recycling.  Mostly throw away.

JudyB ~ I forgot to tell you that I got the animation.  Beautiful!  A lot of work into it!

Larry ~ Even the schools here were in session yesterday.  I think they let them out early though.  I don't know about today.  I haven't had on the TV or radio yet.  I get tired of hearing the same repeats.

Yesterday was a cleaning day for me.  Isn't it remarkable how much dust, cat hair, stuff ends up under one's bed?  Really!!  But my bedroom is clean now and ready for the new mattress and springs.

I bought a Swifter JetMop and used it in the bathroom and the utility room.  I really like it!  I swept the whole house with the carpet sweeper.  Last night and today, I can tell I 'worked' yesterday.  A little bit stiff today even after taking some Ibuprofen before going to bed.

It was still snowing.  The deck needs shoveled off again but not doing that until time to get the mail.

As for throw away or recycle, I have some more after cleaning but trash isn't until next Thursday!

I am going to pretend today is Sunday...a day of rest!

Marilyn

Etta Sue you make me tired.  <3 Just kidding, but all I have done so far this morning is to move the toaster oven to the  kitchen cart and put the  small microwave under the big one that is in a built in space under the cupboard..

I cleaned off that particular counter, and ran the dishwasher, made a lunch for Keith to take with him on his trip north on business, He is going to go on to Portland to see his kids.

The oldest, Craig and his with Stephanie, are leaving for Salt Lake City on Saturday so Craig and go to an interview at some big hospital there for his residency. The hospital is paying for the trip and the hotel. Keith will probably be back on Sunday afternoon. In the meantime I am holding down the fort and taking care of the animals.

Larry I heard somewhere that you are in for  some more snow and ice. Be careful if you have to go any place. Do your cars have ABS?

Anthony

Dear all, sorry for not posting for 12 months, but I have not been connected to the Internet.  I got re-connected on Christmas Eve and I hope I have a better experience this time.

Thank you Al for the devotional this week.  I love the psalms and am planning a deep study on them as a whole.  As a matter of interest Al, have you heard of a Scottish minister called Graham Scroggie?  He was around in the 1940's I believe and he did a superb study book on the psalms.  I should be buying it soon.

Things have changed on the forum - Sarah having a baby?  Wow - congratulations and I trust all will go well with the delivery.

Pat, it was a shock to hear about Geordie, but thank you Al for your comment - that's a big encouragement.

God bless all - it is arctic conditions here in the UK.  I ventured out this morning and was a little nervy, but thank God for His presence and protection.

We have cold and a windy day today.  I am having fun getting the fire going in the furnace...I am looking forward to the day that I don't have a wood furnace.

It was good to see everyone's post.  I enjoy listening to your day's activities.  Anthony I hope you are able to stay connected.

Heading out today.  Heather needs to go to physiotherapy and needs a ride.  Thus I will have time with her.

Bye for now be back this evening.

Carol

Sunshine is warming my kitchen.

Hi Anthony!  It is great to "see" you.  Your weather has really been awful this month.  I hope the pattern changes quickly for everyone's sake.  Take care.

Anthony

I thought I ought to post again, as I got mixed with Sarah.  She has actually had the baby.  I don't know how I missed that.  God bless Sarah and your little one.

Thanks Carol and JudyB for your comments.  Our Bible study is actually going ahead tonight, but my road is sheer ice so I don't think I will risk an accident.  Hope I've done the right thing.

Anyway, God bless - especially the new arrival.

Anthony.

Hi Marilyn, it's past a joke in the U.K. at the moment.  The coldest village (in Scotland) went down to -22o last night.  It is freezing and we can't travel around too well.  I hope things are warmer where you are.

God bless you Marilyn.

I am home from taking Heather to an appointment.  Then we went to the grocery store shopping. I really enjoy my day with her. I am not long home, and chores are done at home.  I do like it when the kids do what is expected.

I fell on the way into the house this afternoon,  The snow was slippery but not at all ice.  I just went down.  No pain at the time, but boy I am sure hurting now.  It was such a silly fall.  Elizabeth had the walkway shoveled, and the fire going well by the time I got home.

John will be home tonight, late I think. I will wait up for him I think.

Anthony I am sorry you are having such a hard time with the weather.  Many on this continent are as well.  To us here in the north it is "normal". Simmicron is having a difficult time as well.   I am praying for you both.

Have a great evening everyone.

ANTHONY!! Nice to see you here again! Sorry your weather is so rough.  It's been a rough winter in lots of places, but here in SW Kansas, not so bad.  In fact, today was beautiful, because we had no wind!

Larry, sounds as if you are getting the cold clear down there as well.  Our "coldest day in 20 years" wasn't!  And I am NOT complaining about that.  I do wish we could have some snow, though.

I enjoyed working today, but don't think I want it to be a full-time thing.  At least 20 people came over to me after lunch to tell me the chili was wonderful!  So that was nice.  I didn't make the cinnamon rolls, the other cook, Mary, did.  I brought one home for you, Judy, better come right away while it is still fresh!  They are delicious!

Well, for Darrel it is one step forward, two steps back.  When he went for his last shot today, the doctor sent him to the hospitalo to get an IV inserted and said 6 more days of meds through the IV.  He will really hate that IV by the time it is taken out.  I just hope this completely kills that infection.  It sure is a tough one!

Tomorrow I am going to my painting meeting.  A friend from church will go with me as a guest, so I'm happy about that.

Beth's RN at the home called to tell me they were having trouble with her, so I had to go give her a "talking to" about letting them do her PT and wearing the special boot the doctor ordered for her.  She gets really stubborn sometimes, and it takes mean ol' Mom to line her out again!  ;)  When they don't do the PT, she gets stiffer and stiffer.

I need to go get my painting supplies together for early tomorrow.  I need to leave here before 7:30 to get there in time.

Etta Sue, I hope you will LOVE your new mattress set!  :)

Judy, I hope you didn't do any damage beyond the soreness!  Those falls are NOT nice!

:)  Hi to all.   The weather in the Niagara Falls Region has been bad for the last few days.  It has been snowing for three days and that is a real pain for me now as I cannot shovel the snow as I only have the use of one hand due to my surgery last week.  Please continue to pray for my wife as she is having some very bad days with pain in her back and other problems due to the drugs that she has to take.

Pat:  Iam so sorry to hear about Georgie as I remember him so well.

Larry: How are you and your wife Pat  doing also how is your daughter  <3

Janet:  Ido hope that Darrel will feel better and that the Lord will give him strength to get this over with

Must get to sleep.  God Bless you all and have a wonderful weekend.  Gord. <3 :cp:

Jeanne Lee

Gord, I'm praying for the Lord to give you and your wife both the strength you need for all you're having to cope with.  Both physical strength, and His strength.   ;)

Another cold one - down below zero last night and probably not more than 14 or 15 above this afternoon.  I thank our Lord over and over for my nice warm home.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We really had a cold night here last night with the wind chill down to 2 degrees.  That is very cold for Georgia.  They are having a lot of broken water mains over the area and that creates very dangerous ice.

I was able to go to McDonald's this morning for coffee as the roads between here and there were fine.  It was reasonably warm in McDonald's so we had an enjoyable time.  I am getting out a little later to attend a meeting this morning but Pat is staying home as last week she about froze when we were there.

I expect to stay in the rest of the day and will probably watch the football games late this afternoon and evening.  Last evening Pat and I went to a Mexican restaurant and had a nice meal.

Starting Monday our daughter will begin 4 days of training with the IRS in preparation for tax season.  Then they will be furloughed until probably sometime in February when there are enough tax returns to keep the crew busy.  She is planning on working a 20 hour week this year as is feeling much stronger than last year.  Last year she was only a few weeks away from her second heart surgery in three months.  Sure hope where she has to take her wheelchair has clear.

Anthony, glad to see you back.  Sure sounds like you all are having terrible weather.  You are wise to stay off the icy roads.

Gord, hope you are feeling better.  I think I answered your question about our daughter in the above comment.  Sorry to hear that your wife is suffering so.

Janet, the parenting role never ends does it.  Glad you enjoyed your day working.  Some of your chili sure sounds good and this cold day.

Judy, the idea of falling is a frightening one.  Glad you didn't break anything.

I just read this morning that the Center for Disease Control now says that people over 65 are at twice the risk of dying from the H1Ni flu.  As far as I am concerned nothing the Government says has credibility.

You all stay warm and enjoy this day the Lord has made.
