Morning Devotional... Queen Victoria was seated alongside John Bright at a dinner which included many of the leading scholars of the country. Finding it quite difficult to carry on a conversation with him, the Queen finally asked him, "Where did all these learned men come from?" "That's easy," he replied, "they came from babies." At this the Queen broke into laughter, the ice was broken, and the conversation had no lack of words from then on.
We might ask the same question this way, "Where do all the pastors, missionaries, evangelists and church leaders come from?" The answer is that they came from babies, and we do well to remember that as we teach and train the little ones in our homes and churches. It is a well known fact that the large percentage of those who are in some kind of full-time service for God were saved at an early age, and are the products of good Christian training in their childhood.
A farmer was walking over his farm with a friend, exhibiting his crops, herds of cattle and flocks of sheep. The friend was greatly impressed and highly pleased, especially with the splendid sheep. He had seen the same breed many times before, but had never seen such fine specimens. Upon asking the farmer how he succeeded in rearing such fine flocks, he received this simple answer, "I take special care of the lambs."
The moral is obvious. We must give high priority to the little ones God has entrusted to us, and our teaching and training will bring rich dividends in God's own time.
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." Mark 10:14 (NIV)

As for communion, my church has communion every Sunday and when I attend two services, I receive communion in both. I miss communion when I happen to not attend church or go to a church that doesn't have communion every week. That personal time with Jesus seems more personal than my prayers here at home. And I, too, have tears sometimes talking to Jesus and realize what all He has done for me/us. I am so grateful for a forgiving God.
Janet ~ I fixed your URL on last weeks Thoughts so it would bring everyone to your new one. I had forgotten about your eyes. How are they doing?
Carol ~ Aaron was 30 years old last August. He was born with the cord around his neck and lack of oxygen to his brain. His parents were told that he wouldn't live past the age of four. But Kim, his mother, went to nurses school...graduated valedictorian...and she just wouldn't take no for an answer from the doctors. She got Aaron in regular school and he thrived from then on. He never sees a stranger. He graduated from high school with the most letters meaning he was Student Manager for football, basketball, baseball and track all four years of high school. He got a letter for each sport for each year...16 letters. He worked at Marsh's grocery for a few years before getting a job at an elementary school as Custodial Maintenance. He has been at Durbin Elementary 10 years now...buying his own little house...lives on this own...drives a scooter. He only wishes he had a girl-friend...well, he has lots of girl-friends. I guess he wishes he was someones boy-friend.
I am slowly getting my house sparkley. I used to do it all in one day...not anymore. Age has changed that!!
Kitty and Bob left this morning for Florida/Disney World. Should be back by the 20th!! I will go over and play with Gwinn, their cat, and make sure to water her flowers. I do believe she has a green house inside. I didn't realize she had so many plants!!
I called Ivalou this morning and she hasn't been feeling well over the weekend and didn't go to church yesterday. I don't like that. She is seldom sick and lately seems to be quite often.

I went to a potluck, evening service and communion at Calvary Chapel in Arcata last evening with Willa, that is the church her daughter attends. Communion was served in olive wood communion cups that the pastor brought back fro Jerusalem just a few weeks ago. Too bad the juice sat for long in the cups, it tasted like wood. I was so good to see a few of the people who have left our church to attend there.
It is not raining right now the sun is shining ever so bright, so I got to take the dogs out for their walks.
Pat you mentioned Geordie, what about Gyp? Ho is he coming along?
This was posted in the Challenges section under the title Information About Photography Could someone please go there and answer Daniels questions?, he has aked me these questions in an email and I can't answer them.
QuoteBrother/Sister in CHRIST,
sorry to bother you but i would like to have answers about photography questions i would ask.
I would like to know which kind of photos to take,
which kind of photos not to take, which kind of
photos to take after authorization. The authorization
is it written? Do we need authorization before
taking photos for sports men/women ? What it is a
photo without sign of royalties? Must we always
request authorization from people in all circumstances
before taking photos to sell? Thank you very much and
sorry for the trouble.
GOD bless you abundantly and forever
Great devotional thoughts, Janet. The Bible also says "train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). I have found this to be true, too.
QuoteAl: I love communion - it almost always makes me weep a little. Such a precious time. In the Lutheran church where we belong, we have it weekly. We kneel at the altar and just that movement is so soothing and peaceful. Anyway you have communion is fine with me and I will not return to any church where I am not invited to take communion. ...... Glad that you have heat and now water. How are your feet/legs doing at this time of the year? Any better?
Dear Carol - it SHOULD make us weep! Jesus our Savior had to feel the guilt of our sins, along with the wrath of His dear Father. That may not seem like much to some, but it needs to be remembered that our Lord LOVED the Father and HATED sin against Him, so, to be charged with that sin brought sorrow to Him such as we cannot even imagine. He had to feel as though He were actually guilty. I love the words J.S. Bach wrote in the St. Matthew's Passion:
O blessed Jesu
How hast Thou offended
That such a doom
On Thee has now descended?
Of what missdeed
Hast Thou to make confession -
Of what transgression?
In answer to your questions about me, I have to say that my feet/legs don't get worse in bad weather, though they do for some people. But the swelling is still there, and my latest problem with "Trochonteric Bursitis" is also bothering. At least it isn't a hip problem (as far as we know) as I thought it was. And it's treatable. PT for it begins this coming Thursday. Thanks so much for asking.
Etta Sue---Big hugs to you for fixing the link and locking last week's discussion. My vision is quite blurry and I have been having a terrific headache, but it is some better tonight. Thanks for asking.
Carol, thanks for answering my and Larry's question about the meeting. Sounds pretty complicated. Like you, I wish people would be responsible for themselves, and think things through before making drastic moves.
I couldn't see to do much today, so I cleaned out my spice shelves (lots of well-aged stuff to toss!) and then the refrigerator. Do those jars and bottles multiply in your refrigerators the way they do in ours? :-\
See you good people tomorrow!
Hi, friends,
The devotional is a good one, Janet. I'm trusting and believing that some day I'll see those children reared to love the Lord and believe in Him return to the fold once again.
I truly hope your vision clears right away.
About communion, I've been in churches that serve communion each Sunday, and then in those that serve it at preset times. Each instance I'm offered communion, it's a time of deep introspection for me. As I was growing up, I was taught that this is a time to search my soul and see if anything should be cleared up between my Lord and I.
Marilyn, I've been thinking about your hands and wrists. Truly you're experiencing significant pain.
As for reading various translations or paraphrases of the Bible, it seems that for me, I gain a more complete understanding of the Word as I review more than one version. It's truly wonderful the way the Word speaks to each of us as we need to hear it.
Y'all have a good evening.
Thank you Ruth Ann Yes I am having significant pain mostly in my left hand, the thumb area. The pain in my right hand isn't very significant. I have been living with this pain for about the last 3-4 years so I have grown used to it. Since it has increased I finally told the Doctor about it at my last visit. I have been getting allthe inormation I can off the internet about this particular problem, researching all alternatives. I can use all the prayers I can get.
Janet I am praying for your eyes. Al I am praying for you as well as I told you in person.
Pat please answer daniel's questions, I think he also sent you an email.
Hi everyone. Janet, thanks for doing the devotional for the week. I know that was a struggle for you. Hope those eyes improve quickly.
I finally broke down and called the doctor's office and have an appointment this afternoon to see why I can't get rid of this cough. Yesterday I felt good but last evening was exhausted and went to bed a 8 pm and didn't get up until 7 this morning. I just can't get rid of this cough and today I just ache so know I am still battling something. I have kept thinking each day it was be getting better but this has gone on for about a month. I wanted to attend a meeting this morning but just didn't feel like getting out.
I had a nice surprise yesterday when the UPS delivered a little DVD Player that was a gift for signing up with Direct TV quite a few months ago. I had to submit my request twice and had given up that I would get it. It is a neat little player with a 7 inch screen. I don't know that I will use it very often but don't know yet. I certainly would not have purchased it. If it had come a little earlier my good friend Rod could have taken it with him on the plane to Las Vegas. He attended a convention there and is now taking in the Comsumer Electronics Show, which he attends every year.
I have only attended or belonged to one church that had closed communion. I would not join such a church again as they refused to serve my folks when they visited us and attended church with us. I guess I will never forget that experience that rather broke my heart. I grew up in a church that served Communion every Sunday. However, the Presbyterian Church has it the first Sunday of each month plus some special occasions.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning....for a few more minutes. It's almost noon here.
I have been Pledging and Windexing again today. Everything looks so shiny now. I don't know what I was thinking when I thought feather-dusting was getting it!!
Ivalou let me know that she was ill over the weekend but last evening she felt much better. She is wondering if it is her new medicines that she is taking causing the nausea and all. But today is her class luncheon and she was planning on going.
I plan to run the sweeper before relaxing in the recliner today...after a shower. Big days but productive days.
Really cloudy here today...almost dark! But it is 55° so that helps the heat bill.
Still morning.... >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^<

Hi Everyone!
At last I'm feeling as if I'm on the road to recovery from this awful "bug". I've had a nice hot shower, gone for a little walk with Geordie and now will get ready to drive my friend to a lung specialist this afternoon.
I pray that the rest of you all will have a great day.
We are back at school work. It is quite interesting, I really disliked physics in school myself and here I am teaching physics.....and understanding it!
John headed out today rather than yesterday as he expected. It was good to have him home and he got a job done that has been waiting for him.
We have had fog for 2 days now. It has been reining and the warmth of the air against the cold has really put us into a pea soup. I don't mind driving in fog, but last night got to be too much and I had John take over. Today we have hardly any snow at all. North Bay is about clear of snow. Here at the farm we still have snow on the fields, but there is none around the house or buildings. Last night the rain had been so heavy that we thought our drivewway and the road would wash out. It didn't praise God, and John was able to leave safely.
Boy we are going through a lot of dog food. 3 large bags in a two week span. As our dogs go we will not be replacing them. Unfortunately at this time we have only one old (big) boy. To those of you who remember Jake, Dexter is just like him. He "purrs" with a low rumble, every time we talk to him. He sleeps on his blanket in our room, with Dana close by.
Mom has moved to a retirement home, she is happy with this move, as are we. She came out of hospital with the verdict that she is very healthy and strong. Praise God for that.
The church Pat and I grew up in had Lord's supper every month, the first Sunday of the month, at the evening service. At the end of the service we would sing the hymn Blest Be The Tie That Binds. It is still a favourite of mine. In our church we also have Lord's supper once a month, in the morning service.
Oh I have exciting news for our church family. It is growing again, we will have our own "7th Heaven"!!! Our associate pastor's wife is expecting again, it is her 6th pregnancy, and yes you guessed it, she is expecting twins!! We saw the ultra sound on sunday and what a treat that was. She is 38, and this is a high risk pregnancy, because of her age as well as other factors. She is due in June. Please uphold the family in prayer.
Well must go and monitor the school work again.
God Bless
Judy

There's a quiet understanding
When we're gathered in the spirit
It's a promise that He gives us
When we gather in His name
There's a love we feel in Jesus
There's a manna that He feeds us
It's a promise that He gives us
When we gather in His name
And we know when we're together
Sharing love and understanding
That our brothers and our sisters
Feel the oneness that He brings
Thank You, thank You, thank You, Jesus
For the way You love and feed us
For the many ways You lead us
Thank You, thank You, Lord.

Hi Judy...
You look after that Gyp now, won't you? ;) I miss him so much
I'd love to see some new photos of him.
This has become a very strange winter. A few days ago there were three (6.5) earthquakes in a row in the Port Hardy area. Up island...plus aftershocks. No damage, fortunately. Then we had heavy rains, wind, etc. Now, this morning, snow on the ground again. I have given up on reading the weather forcasts, they are so wrong it is sad!!!
Would love to go outside for a walk. Too much ice. I am still sore from the fall a few days ago and not about to tempt fate. Gather that weather is a problem in many places, although Ont. seems to be enjoying an early Spring. Unless that changed since the last pictures on TV....Sort of like the elections in US...no way of telling what is going to happen.
Not much to say. Reading and listening to music doesn't provide exciting conversations. At least, not with Misty, my cat. Read one comment made by a minister that seemed rather interesting..."Each one of us acts as an Antichrist whenever we hear the gospel and do not do it." Hmmmm :-\
This is a little smile, sort of relating to communion:
One Sunday, the communion steward prepared the elements in her usual manner. Or at least she thought it was in her usual style. When it came time to uncover the elements, the grape juice looked darker than usual. She thought nothing of it and began to serve the communion. Promptly upon receiving the cup, each recipient's face had a peculiar, stunned look. When it came time for her to receive she discovered why the strange looks...the juice was prune juice! One parishoner stated, "Perhaps this is a divine commentary on our spirituality...we need a little loosening up! ;)
Pleasant Day/evening and God Bless.
Liz
Hello! I have been to my chiropractor, and must say I can't fool him! He said "My goodness, you're tight! Have you had some unusual stresses in your life lately?"
I'm expecting the chiropractor treatment to relieve my headache and back pain. I feel rather achy all over, have no idea what that's about. This, too, shall pass.
Larry, I do hope you get relief from that nasty cough. It has hung on far too long!
Hi, Pat! Glad you're feeling better.
Liz, I loved your "grin" and there is truth in the man's statement, probably.
Etta Sue, you want to come and windex and pledge my house? You're sure welcome! Probably the feather duster does good for a while, then it takes a good old rubbing to remove the gunk.
I think I will attempt some scrapbooking this afternoon, if I can see well enough to do it. Thanks for all the well wishes on my eyes. If they don't improve soon, I will be questioning whether or not I should have had the surgery! :(
Time to drink more water!
Pat I will have to get my (John's) camera out and going. I bid on a camera like your older one on ebay for John for Christmas, didn't win it, and so we are left with the standard 35mm.
Have a good day everyone. Got to get out to piano lessons and then home o finish up schoolwork. Just 2 subjects to do. Over the holidays I have "lost" my answer key for math and the history text book has taken legs. Will have to find them before too much longer, I usually am correct with math, but they are in to new concepts and I need to double check my results. You know I love teaching and in doing so I am learning.
Judy I gather that now Gyp is your dog and no longer Pat's dog.
I hope you read Marilyn where Dany asked the question. ;)
Marilyn Yes you ae right.
I Have exciting news.
Kassie has been taking piano lessons since Sept. She has now moved on to the Conservatory books, and she will be entering the Kewanis festival in April. Her teacher is really impressed with her progress. Woohoo way to go Kassie!!
We are still in danger of loosing our road. We have had so much rain that the creek that runs under the road is very close to the top of the culvert. We are praying for cold weather. Our basement is flooded as well. I really dislike it when we have this fast of a thaw. Makes living so uncomfortable.
Got to run and get dinner ready. Beef/bear meat loaf for supper tonight.
Doesn't sound too good, Judy!
I'll be praying about your road!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
Well our road hasn't washed out. The township truck was up checking. That is good news.
We have a website that I have subscribed to called freecycle, It is for people on the site who have items to get rid of and don't want to load the landfill with good items. If there is a need it is posted on the site, and most often the need is met "free". I said all that to say this. I had put in a request for a yogurt maker, and got an email back today that there is one available to me. I will be picking it up today. My family loves yogurt, and this will be a less expensive way of eating it.
Well the temperature is dropping. There is still precipitation, not sure whetrher it is rain and snow or freezing rain, but the temp is going down. The last few days has been really miserable with rain and runoff.
Well got to go. Love y'all
JudyB
Good Morning We have freecycle here too.
Not much is new here no rain yet today. I even saw a few stares out when I went to Curves.
Yes Pat I saw where you had answered Daniel.
Al it is good to know that you finally got an answer to your hip pain, at least now you know the cause.
Janet I am sorry that I didn't comment on your devotional, I just forgot to do so. The young children are our future. They must be nurtured and taught in the ways of the Lord.
Yesterday the therapist used ultrasound on my hand, massage, and some electrostatic therapy with a heat pack on top of my hands. I have had this kind of treatment on my back and neck by my chiropractor.

I think I did too much yesterday but I have a sparkling living room, dining room AND bedroom and all the floors are swept. I am sore today.
Today is Red Hats day. We are to south of Indianapolis to a pottery place. I don't know where we are going to eat.
Ivalou called last evening and she is feeling much better.
The sun JUST came out. Wonder for how long? It is cooler today. Only 34°. That's more like January weather for Indiana. (^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(

I have Ruth Ann on the phone as I type this with one hand. She says her computer is down and so is Leslie's. She will be back when she can.
Thanks for letting us know, Marilyn.
Hi everyone. Like Pat I am happy to say that I am feeling a lot better today. I finally broke down yesterday and saw the doctor and he assured me my lungs were clear and prescribed Bactrin in case there was a virus lurking somewhere.
We attended the Bible study with the pastor today and then went with the group to Dunkin' Donut for about an hour of visiting with our friends. I came home and ate lunch and then took a 2 hour nap. I the antibiotic makes one feel tired. I have choir tonight so probably won't get anything done around here. Pat did put away the Christmas items for another year. She got smart and put everything she wants to use in cone container to make it easier next year.
Marilyn, you do a pretty good job typing with your one hand. Hope your hands are feeling better from the treatment.
Etta Sue, sounds like you overdid your cleaning but you should be set for awhile. Hope you enjoyed your day with the Redhatters.
JudyB, I grew up in the country on a dirt road and well remember the mud and ruts after a long period of rain or the spring thaw. It sounds like Kassie is doing very well with her piano.
Janet, hope the chiropractor is a lot of help to you. Did you laught when he asked you if you had been under stress? Hope your eyes are improving by the day.
LIz, certainly glad you didn't have any damage from the earthquakes.
Liz I see where there are more earthquakes going on in your area. On Queen Charlotte Island not Victoria.
I have just returned from taking each do for their walk, no rain so far today. When I first got home for my afternoon break I grilled a piece of fresh Salmon in my George Foreman grill and baked a pan of Marie Callander corn bread after eating the fish I ate three pieces of the warm corn bread. MMM that was so good.
Hey there, kids! I'm here, just been busy today.
Larry, I'm feeling lots better today. The chiropractic treatment helped, and I also think most of the headache was due to caffeine withdrawal. I had been drinking more coffee in the mornings, also making it stronger, and I am now fasting. This is my fourth day, and I felt really good today.
Larry, when he asked about stress, I chuckled and said "Oh, yes!" He (doctor) is such a wonderful and caring young man, God bless him.
Etta Sue, looks as if you have a new career ahead of you, should you choose to pursue it---as a cleaning lady! Me first, Pat!
After going to school to see my Youth Friends, I went to the Care Home. Beth asked me to clean out her closet. They are so tiny, only about 30" of hanging space. So I took out everything she said didn't fit, and then took her sweatshirts, tee shirts and sweat pants off the hangers, folded them and put them in the drawers. Sure looked a lot better! It took me an hour and a half! And now I have a big bag of clothes I have no idea what to do with--anybody want them? ;) I will be looking for a place to donate them, as they are all in good condition.
JudyB, our road is pretty boggy, but we don't have a creek to threaten it! We had another nice snow (2 inches or so) a couple nights ago, which has almost all melted now. We are always grateful for any moisture.
Marilyn, hope your hands feel better. Not too long ago, I was also typing with one hand.
Ruth, where are you? We miss you! 8)
I was only typing with one and because the phone was in my other hand. ;) I guess I could have put Ruth Ann on speaker phone
I've posted a further prayer request for our Ellette. Please read it HERE (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=6197.msg114409#msg114409)
Let Sara know that you'll be praying for her please.
Hi Everyone,
My wife, Midori, and second son, Casey, went to Tokyo for 3 days. It is an amazing city, huge; complex and busy, busy, busy! I have posted one picture in the gallery of Sumo's Grand Champion. Some other picts of Tokyo can be seen here...
http://pastorkevinspicts.blogspot.com/2008/01/tokyo-sprawl-from-roppongi-hills.html
I am really enjoying slowly going through Matthew's gospel (again) ...from chapter 9...
Then Jesus made a circuit of all the towns and villages. He taught in their meeting places, reported kingdom news, and healed their diseased bodies, healed their bruised and hurt lives. When he looked out over the crowds, his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep with no shepherd. "What a huge harvest!" he said to his disciples. "How few workers! On your knees and pray for harvest hands!"
In His Grip,
Kevin
Good morning, No rain so far this morning but it was sure raining when I came out of Bible Study last night.
Kevin I did not realize that Tokyo was so big. Great photos.
I do pray that everyone is feeling well this morning and/or will get better throughout today. I have read Sara's prayer request and am praying for her and her family. What has happened to her is so heart wrenching.
All is well here. The therapist told me to do my hand exercises in hot but not too hot water, it sure makes it easier to do them. I am learning how to compensate and do things differently, things so small as taking off my socks can be painful to my left hand or putting on my jeans, buttons are a major ordeal. So I just button them and put my shirt or blouse on over my head take it off the same way. Opening jars Oh MY so hard to do. Enough of my problems, there are so many people who are much worse off than I am that we need to pray for.
God is in control and His word says in John 14:13 and 14 that whatever we ask he will do. If you believe that the Bible is the truth then believe what Jesus says, He does not lie. So ASK and you WILL receive. He is the Great Physician and yes He does work through doctors and medicine. I believe and I expect the best, With His help I will receive the best, spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially. God is in Control.
Yes, those are some photos in Kevin's blog. Hope everyone clicks to see them. Maybe you could leave a comment on there. It's encouraging to see comments--just like in our Introductions area. Please welcome our new folks.
Kevin, I tried to leave a comment, but didn't have all the ID needed to do it. So I will just comment here. :-[
I knew Tokyo was huge, but your pictures from that height are just great! Lots of industrial and car smog there, huh? Glad you, Midori and your son had a nice little vacation!
I couldn't sleep last night (again) so got up at 2 AM, did all the laundry and browsed through a couple of catalogs. Went back to bed at 4:30. Yawnnnn........ :-\
We got another little fluffy snow last night, it is melting quickly.
No news of note here. See you later!
Janet, if you have a gmail.com email address, you can leave a comment in the blogs. Just click that and put in your email address.
Try it, you'll see how easy it is.
Yesterday, our grandson had a slight concussion from a little football session during play time at school - he is doing fine today. He is one kid who is always having something happen to him. There was such a load of burdens on my mind that the Spirituality meeting/group was so peaceful and calming to my mind - I slept so well last night.
Janet: Hope your headaches clear very soon. And, your eyes.
Etta Sue: Thank you for explaining Aaron, truly a special gift from God. And, it takes a special family to live with him - they must be the best of the best. Please don't worry so much about Iva Lou - I am trying to remember that saying about letting go - God go, that isn't right but let God take over this worrying.
Al: Agree with your explanation. I will check out your bursitis - Had it once & it was after I had shoveled snow and ice had gone up my sleeve onto wrists. Very painful.
JudyB: That is great for you and the children to be teaching and learning as well. I am so sorry about that basement flooding. Drats. I hope that some drain pipes can be put in to help your house at some time.
Liz: Prune juice for communion! :D ;D It would do more than cleanse the soul... How on earth did anyone get that bottle to the church? Yes, we heard about your earthquakes too. Hope that is the end of it. The icy sidewalks and parking lots are here as well, not good.
We came home this morning & walked into a puddle in front of the washing machine. Need a plumber to fix a broken pipe & faucet. We were so lucky to not be out running too long. Don was going to fix it at first & I was going to tell him to just get a plumber and he decided that was the best thing on his own ------ WHEW! He fixes a lot of things but plumbing isn't his best thing.
I was at quilting at church yesterday too and one pastor came & asked for a favor. He wants someone to sew 16 white vestments with religious symbols on them for the confirmands. Would you believe that no one said a word & I reluctanly said I would if I could get at least one more person to help cut the fabric. So, I really hope someone will come forward to help. 9 yards of fabric is a lot to cut out.
Carol
Ohhh, that's a big job, Carol. I surely hope you get some help with that.

The Lighthouse (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/lighthouse.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Then Jesus spoke to them again,
saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows
Me shall not walk in darkness,
but have the light of life."
John 8:12
Words and Music: ©Ronnie Hinson
There's a Lighthouse on the hillside,
that overlooks life's sea.
When I'm tossed it sends out a light,
light that I might see.
And the light that shines in darkness,
now will safely lead me home,
And if it wasn't for the lighthouse,
my ship would sail no more.
And I thank God for The Lighthouse,
I owe my life to Him.
Jesus is The Lighthouse
and from the rocks of sin,
He has shown the light around me,
so that I might clearly see.
And if it wasn't for The Lighthouse,
where would this ship be?
Everyone that lives around us,
says tear that old lighthouse down,
The big ships don't sail this way anymore,
ain't no use in it standing round.
But then my mind goes back to that stormy night,
when just in time I saw the light
With the light from that old lighthouse,
that stands there on the hill.
And I thank God for The Lighthouse,
I owe my life to Him.
Jesus is The Lighthouse
and from the rocks of sin,
He has shown the light around me,
so that I might clearly see.
And if it wasn't for The Lighthouse,
Where would this ship be?

Hi everyone. I am sitting here this evening and they have just issued tornado warnings for our general area but I don't see our county listed and we are suppose to get rain tonight. Fortunately I am staying in tonight.
I had a busy day. After coffee I went to MicroCenter and bought additional memory for my computer and Pat's computer. I now have 2 gig and she has 1 gig of RAM. I also had to buy ink for my printer (never a fun thing to do).
I then went on to my retirees luncheon, which was over in that area where I shopped. We only had 8 men in attendance but had a good time. When I got home I rested for an hour and then tore into each of our computers and installed the memory. I am now enjoying my easy chair.
Carol, I hope your sewing project goes well. Also hope that your grandson wasn't hurt too badly. I can relate to your washer water problem. We had that 3 or 4 years ago. I replaced all the hoses, including the icemaker hose, with metal reinforced hoses to help prevent a hose break.
Janet, you are suppose to sleep, not do laundry at 2 am in the morning. :) I remember those tiny closets in the care homes where my folks were. My dad had a private room for most of the time he was in the nursing home, except in skilled care, so had a little more room.
Marilyn, it is interesting how just changing the way we do a particular thing can help. We have a neat little "V" shaped jar opener that fits under our kitchen cabinet and you can get most any lid off with it. It works much better than one that is held.
Kevin, glad you had a nice time. I will take a look at your photos.
Hope everyone has a good evening and a good night's sleep.

Hello all! Big day yesterday. Red Hatters went to Grindstone Charley's in Greenwood...that's south of Indy. Then we went to the Old Tyme Pottery Shop, The Flower Factory and Target. I was riding in the back of a van and I thought to myself....I don't think I can get in or out of this van one more time. I do think that yesterday I shopped and almost dropped!!
Then today was my 60 Chix luncheon. There were only 6 of us...one was a cousin of a classmate. (under-classman) But I knew her since she was 2 years old. She was adopted by one of my mom and dad's classmates after he married her mom. Yes, you read that right. So Jeannie and I had lots to talk about. In fact, her mother passed away and my dad passed away and her dad said to my mom that they ought to get married. Mom told him that she couldn't take care of herself let alone a man, too! And sad, but Mom didn't feel comfortable in visiting him after that halfway proposal. So Jeannie and I were almost sisters!
Then I got back home to go with Ivalou to see about getting her CPAP. She got it and then we went to WalMart for her to find a little table to put the machine on, also distilled water and some groceries....AFTER we had Chinese at a buffet.
So a busy, busy couple of days.
Tomorrow I get to stay home but I should go to Kitty's and play with her cat.
Saturday is another stay home day. Then Sunday is church and in the evening I am to go with Ivalou to her granddaughter's home to a surprise birthday party for her daughter-in-law.
Then I have something to do every day next week!!!!! @_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@

I meant to comment on the devotional, Janet. Nice. We can teach our kids, doesn't always take...but then life sometimes changes things. Guess all one can do is their best and leave the rest up to God.
Yes, Marilyn, that earthquake was off the Queen Charlotte Islands....was felt in both Port Hardy and McNeil. This is at the northern part of our island and a nice distance from Victoria. We are always aware that a BIG one is expected...hope they are as wrong about that fact as the predictions about the weather. ;)
Constant rain for days, when we were not getting snow .. Even Misty gave up today and stayed inside to sleep beside me on the bed. She likes to stay close. I have my computer in the bedroom and sort of enjoy her company while I'm exploring the world on the internet.
Interesting thing happened this winter. Wendy feeds the birds with lots of suet blocks and also gets squirrels hanging from them to feed. For the first time, an Anna's Hummingbird buzzed the window and let her know of it's presence. She put up the feeder and two of them come to feed on a regular basis. They are hard to attract and never seen one this side of the Malahat. They do come to Victoria. It is a real treat to have them come to one's garden. Amanda got some neat pictures but my camera doesn't take that quality of picture, so have not tried.
The Lighthouse is nice to listen to as I am typing. Our postal service came out with a stamp to honor them...and put the first one on backwards. So have been reading about all the complaints. :ticked:
Time to go. Pleasant Evening/Day and God Bless.
Liz
Have you all been to see the entries in the challenge?
There are some really nice ones in there.
http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=6498.0
Glad you liked the music, Liz. You take care of yourself out there. We've got tornado warnings here. Glad I'm in for the night.
Carol, both my head and eyes are better, I think. No headache today, but eyes are fluctuating in their acuity quite a lot. Should get better day by day. 16 vestments? Wow---some of those other ladies should help you!! Goodness!
Etta Sue, you better watch out or you might get as busy as Carol and I. ;)
Larry, how are you feeling today?
This was day 5 for me on my fast. Doing well so far!
I need to read a bit and write in my prayer journal. See you tomorrow.
No tornado warnings up here. We had some spectacular lightening on Monday night and Tuesday. Today the temp has dropped and the weather is clear.
Was at a friends tonight. we have been trying to deal with a break problem with the car and tonight our friend
(a mechanic) replaced and fixed the problem for us. PTL
Pat I am praying for Ellette.
Had a sleepless night last night sooooo heading to bed, and will be back tomorrow.
Love to all
Judy
Really crazy, mixed up, unusual, or whatever you want to label it weather.... There was an earthquake about 100 miles west of Florence (out in the ocean) the other day, and today there was a tornado near Portland Oregon and Olympia Washington ... looks like Mother Nature is really trying to get our attention.
A dear friend of mine is near death in Fort Worth, Texas. I have known her since 1956 and we have visited, off and on, for many years. I talked with her son-in-law this afternoon (evening their time) and he told me they weren't expecting her to last thru the night. I will miss my friend, but I know her heart and mind (soul) is already with the Lord. Now is the most difficult time for the familly: they are sitting by her bedside watching as her body--her earthly tabernacle -- shuts down. Please help me pray for her three children and their families as they cope with these next few days.
I really don't have a lot to add to the on-going conversation here so I'll hush for now .... Later..................... Jane
Jane I am praying as type this.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%253Cbr%2520%2F%253E%2FCatWinking.gif&hash=109a5909d2fa9cd1cf921dfe7230bb0695ab5237)
I am certainly praying for everyone's concerns. God Bless You All!!
I just got a phone call from Kitty's brother-in-law. He had been to Kitty and Bob's house and it seems part of their bedroom ceiling has fallen down due to a leak in the roof somewhere. We have been having lots of rain here and flood warnings at various places in the state. Jim wanted me to know so that when I go to play with Gwinn, the cat, that I won't be shocked to see a hole in their ceiling.
Not much going on today for me. I did a load of laundry. Now I plan to eat something and go to Kitty's to play!! Gwinn used to be one of three kitties at Kitty's house. In the last few months, they had to put down Tillie and then they found Munchie dead in their furnace room. Since then Gwinn has become very loving and wants people affection. So I am going to see if she remembers me today.
That's it! Another cloudy, rainy day in Indiana and cold....34°!^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+

Oh, Jane... I'm so sorry. I'll be praying for this dear family in Texas.
We have a gentleman in our church who has been in the final stages of terminal cancer for a few months now and he's being gently promoted to glory to abide with his Master and each day we look for news of his Homecall but alas, it doesn't come. We know that God's ways are perfect and we mustn't question this. Let's pray for Harold and his dear wife who is a wonderful caregiver.
Etta Sue, I must get some laundry done as well. It's sure piling up.
Howdy! We have a lovely day here in Kansas, but boy, our road is next to impassable! Darrel said he "bottomed out" twice on the way to town, and I did it once myself. So we came back in the other way! Good we have an alternate; even though it means driving across the grass we have been trying to establish, it's better than getting stuck! ;)
Speaking of cats, Etta Sue, our Dinah is the same way as Gwinny. Since she's an "only cat" she wants a lot more attention. Abby gave her a catnip mouse, and she gets quite a workout playing with that. It sure winds up in some unusual places! :o
So sorry to hear of the folks needing prayers for homeward bound loved ones. That's hard, at any time of life. I will pray.
Pat, what a cute......smilie? I hadn't seen that one before.
I knew I needed more exercise than I have been getting the past month or so, and I went back to the swimming pool today. Boy that felt good. They have a new scale there, really something. You take off shoes and socks, it gives your weight, less the weight of your clothes  also give you your BMI, % of fat, etc. Not only overall, but broken down by Right leg, left leg, right arm, left arm and trunk. Man, technology is something now, isn't it?
JudyB, glad your brakes are fixed, not good to have bad brakes!
Jane, I will pray for your friend's kids. Good to see you here.
Larry must be busy today. But I think he will probably post later.
A friend from another town is coming soon to look at and borrow some of my photos from the Pennsylvania trip. Hers didn't come out as she had a bad battery in her camera, and her husband didn't take many. She said they got a digital camera for Christmas, so they are happy about that.
See you later!
Janet, you can see lots of smileys here: http://bestsmileys.com/pageindex.htm
and you can post them here by just copying the code! ;)
QUESTIONS
I come O Lord with heavy heart
With burning questions in my head
I seek not answers from others Lord
But only from you instead
Will you keep me in your arms?
Hold me tightly in your grip
Or some day will you let me fall
And my hand from yours will slip
I thought you held me tightly Lord
So none could pluck me away
I thought that when you found me Lord
You wouldn't lose me again some day
What kind of Shepherd are you Lord
To look after so many sheep
That you could even lose one of those
Who dwells within your keep?
Is this really you my Lord?
The One on whom I depend
To guide me through this life
Until my journey's end
Please tell me Lord I beg of you
When you bought me at such cost
Will you sell me back to the Devil?
And my soul again be lost
I used to have such peace of mind
For I thought I could depend on you
Now I am not so sure Lord
If this is really true
Please tell me Lord your answers
But I think I really know
You will say to me; my child
I will never let you go
Colin Moffett.
I was in another site where they were debating whether one could lose ones salvation. I penned this poem as to what I would have to ask Jesus if I thought I could be lost again. I don't think that for one moment but others in here might have a different view. You can let me know. God bless.
Oh, Colin... What a poem.
I'm so happy to know that MY Saviour, MY Shepherd will always hold me in the hollow of HIS wonderful loving hands. He will never let me go or disown me. I am His and He is mine. He searched for me when one of His sheep was lost and He found me and what a wonderful Saviour He is!
Hi Pat...I had no doubt you believed that! Hope all is going well for you. God bless.
Everything is going well for me, Colin. It's raining here right now though and it reminds me of Ireland!
Hey folks!
Some new people need to be welcomed!
http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?board=42.0
Good Morning It is not 5:30AM yet and here I am although there isn't very much new around here. It has been raining all night and I hope it slows down long enough for me to go to the recycling place and empty out the trunk of my car, which I loaded yesterday with all the paper, cardboard, plastic and glass to be discarded.
My hours at work have changed again and I will not be working a split shift anymore. It seems that the husband doesn't like to eat before 6PM an I leave at 5, They were having supper before I left. That will be a big bonus for me as I will have to whole afternoon off. Praise the Lord.
Yesterday when I went back at 3PM we made cheese mini cupcakes That was certainly an easy recipe that I will post in the recipe folder and will convert it to a low calorie low cholesterol recipe.
Colin When I first started reading your poem I thought maybe you were in a depressed mood as you wrote. But then I read the note at the bottom an realized what you were really saying. as for myself I have no doubt about the love of Jesus and what He did for ME. I don't think we can lose our salvation but I do know that if we backslide we can depend on His forgiveness, He will never leave us nor ever forsake us.
Janet I wish we had one of those scales at Curves, We have to be measured with a tape measure, weighed and then hold on to this little contraption that tells us our BMI % of fat. After that all the numbers are put into the computer for calculation and comparison to the last weigh in day and also the totals since we began at curves. Wouldn't it be great if that scale would also give you a printout?
Etta Sue how awful for your friend Kitty to come home to a caved in ceiling is her BIL going to see it gets repaired before there is more damage?
It looks like I got rather long winded here this morning.
So TTYL

Pat ~ What a cute Smiley site! I have bookmarked it. It looks like it is so easy to use!
Colin ~ I, too, was wondering what you were thinking when I read your poem! What a relief when I read the explanation under the poem. I have heard many say, 'I hope when I die, I will go to heaven.' I know that Jesus is my Lord and Savior and I know he died on the cross for me. He lives in my heart and forgives all my wrong doings. Therefore he will give me the gift of eternal life in heaven. (And when I get a new body, I am asking for a size 6!!) BTW, Colin...I have saved all your poems in a folder titled 'Colin Moffet Poems'. I love reading them once in a while and I am not even a poetry person. But then, your poetry rhymes!!
Janet ~ My two furkids are declawed. Gwinn isn't. She loves to run, slide and scratch around in tissue paper and has two plastic sticks with feathers on them. She likes you to move the feather under the tissue paper that she can barely see the feather and then attack!! She got me with her claws three times!! THEN I noticed that Kitty had put a pair of work gloves on the floor by the tissue paper. In less than a week, Gwinn had torn the tissue paper to shreds so I picked it up and put down a new sheet. She loved it!
Marilyn ~ Jim did put up plastic over/under the huge hole in their bedroom ceiling. I was thinking when Jim called me that it would be maybe a foot by a foot hole. It is huge. Probably 32" (two studs wide x 16") by 4 ' . And it is a roof leak...hard telling where the rain is coming in. And knowing Bob, he is getting antsy and wants to come home. He is one that as soon as he gets somewhere, he is ready to come back home. And once he is home, he is ready to get out. He likes to walk so everyday he goes to a mall or big store and just walks...every day!!!
Good morning to all who will come in later after me!
I have been invited to Ivalou's granddaughter's home tomorrow evening to a surprise birthday for her Mother, Ivalou's DIL. I am taking potato salad so I have to make it this afternoon.
Well, it is nice and (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fsun%2F6.gif&hash=4b309e5705db87f7984c39c976a11b4e5fdd1d07)

Hi Folks.
Well we had quite a day yesterday. On the way out there was a popping noise in the front of the car. Being a crysler product, I put it down to the wet days we have been having. Then the heaters started blowing cold. So when we got to town we added anitfreeze to the rad....That should work right? still blowing cold I went in to the fellow who did the break job the day before and he suggested that I go to Wall Mart and get some antifreeze and put it in to the rad, that I was probably really low and didn't have enough in the rad. Did that and added a gallon jug of antifreeze as well as jug of water. it was full of fluid I thought we were "good to go". I went to Heathers as our first stop and checked the rad again....you guessed it "no water". This meant cancelling all our appointments for the day and waiting for John to get there. It also meant cancelling a training course John had scheduled in Hanover. People were not happy. The outcome was that the heater hoses have rotted, and even with them clamped off the water drainned out faster than we could put it in. The Van is at Canadian Tire for them to check out, and we are without transportation till at least Tuesday. I could have worked today, but without transportation that is impossible.
On Thursday our sil (Heather's husband) had a mild heart attack. He is 36. They sent him home and yesterday while I was there he was in really rough shape. Pray for him as you go through your day.
Well enough doom and gloom. I am thankful that I am sure of my salvation and not afraid of loosing it. I am thankful John is home rather than gone all weekend. I am thankful that Jon (sil) has been sent home and not in intensive care. I am thankful that the sun is shining, and it isn't raining.
God bless
Judy
Judy, that was some day you had! I hope everything is looking much better for you by now!
Marilyn, the new scale DOES print out all the information! Cool! I expect the cost was a lot!
Etta Sue, I never thought about cats loving tissue paper, but since it makes noise, I'm sure they would.
I made a tough decision today. I will not be going to the painting class I had looked forward to for so long. It is next week, and my buddy who usually shares a room with me isn't going (spent all her money on new windows for her house) so the cost for room would be twice what I usually pay; I have two medical appointments on Monday morning (meaning missing a day of painting); and my sight isn't all that clear anyway. So........ :'( I do have my portrait class next month to look forward to, though.
Colin, I guess you had us all wondering! Our Sunday School class had a big discussion on that very subject a little while back. Most of them believe you CAN lose your salvation! I was shocked. :o Love your poem!
Pat, I bookmarked the site, but haven't really looked at the new smilies yet. Thanks. LOVE the scripture for today.
Larry, where are you? I hope you are well, just busy or resting. We miss you.
Ohhhh Janet. I am so sorry you are missing that painting class. It is so disappointing. Know that I am praying for you and your eyes. God be with you.
Hi Everyone...
Just about to go to the mall to go to "The Source" (formerly Radio Shack) to buy a 25 foot extension called "something or other" that Paul told me to buy to plug into the end of another cord so that I can have good sound at my Slide/Movie Show Presentation next Thursday at the Guelph Hiking Trail Club. I have a once a year presentation and next Thursday is my night and I'm showing a fantastic movie on hiking in the Pennines in England. Also, maybe one of climbing Snowdon in North Wales.
Welcoming New Folks
I can't tell you how important it is that we make our new folks welcome here at CP. Please continue to go to http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?board=42.0 and scroll down the list if you see a "New" button and click and post a welcome. Thanks so much.
And have you all gone to look at the Snow Pictures and/or Christmas ones? Some nice ones and if you haven't entered, you have two days left till I close it and we all start to vote.
http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=6498.0;all
Thanks, Colin, for the poem and your thoughts on assurance. My opinion (I think it's Biblical) is that, thankfully, our Lord plucked us as brands from the fire. We did not reach out of the fire and grasp Him. And, since He began His good work in us, He will therefore continue it unto eternity. If we depended upon our reaching out to Him, we'd all be lost, but since we depend upon His reaching out to us, there's no way we can be lost.
Thank you for all your comments on my poem. I had myself worried when I read it! I am getting alarmed about some so called Christian viewpoints I am seeing and reading. Other poems will have to follow methinks!
Now a question......Who in the Bible was born before their mother and died before their father?
Sorry no prizes for the first person getting the answer correct unless they want me to write a poem about them!
Colin Jesus Christ?
We have the news on the car. Got a call asking if in the van we wanted the rear hearer working. No. Ok, so the job then will take an hour, and will cost $70. Now if that isn't an answer to prayer I don't know what is!
Pat I will check out those links another time. Don't need this puter to shut down.
I have spent time repotting my violets. Some had rotten stems so I have created a terrarium out of an old cracked aquarium and I hope it works. There is a place in NY called the Violet Barn, that I hope to get to this spring. They have some amazing violets. Pat you want to come with me?
Well Got to go have some cookies ready to go into the oven so be back later.
Blessings to all of you.
Well, I was speaking to Paul on the telephone and asked him about your question, Colin and he says, "Adam!"
So, this isn't my answer but Paul's.
Colin: I was thinking Adam too but that is a quick answer. Love your poetry - such a gift and you are so generous to share with everyone.
Pat: Great laundry lady smiley! You mentioned prayers for someone at your church - on the way.
Larry: What kind of a printer do you have? We have an Epson and Don always buys much cheaper over the internet - send an email with your printer name & model number & he will check it out for you.
Our son who has been without a job for several months spent a night of praying (that is great news for us) - I had told him how he should pray at other times. The very next day he had news that he will be hired back with the same company - (now, this isn't in writing yet so we are trying to not get too excited). Skeptic, I am. He is feeling good about it and one of these fine days we will have a discussion about this time in his life.
No one has called to help with the sewing so far - will do my best and not fall apart if no one helps.
Oh, a plumber came with a $10 faucet part - the bill was.........$270 for less than an hour's work. I have a physical with my doctor for $110 - do the math and she spends a lot of time with me.
Carol
JudyB: A heart attack in such a young person - we have always known the risks because Don's family history is just like that -
Jane: Sending prayers.
It was a minister who asked the question I have posed here so when you get the answer and are not happy with it.....please take it out on him! No one has answered correctly so far!
Thank you Carol....no use writing poems and hiding them away. I am only too happy to share them.
Take care everyone.
Colin ... How about Abel? His mother wasn't born (but created) and his brother, Cain, killed him while, I assume his father, Adam, was still alive. :-\
 CORRECT JANE!
What a great little "test" that was, Colin! Of course, Jane, that's so true and you did well getting that right.
Reminds me of the hymn, "The Bible Stands" and how we must go to the scripture for our answers. Let's listen to the words now...

THE BIBLE STANDS (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/biblestn.mid)
(Click title for music)
The Bible stands like a rock undaunted
'Mid the raging storms of time;
Its pages burn with the truth eternal,
And they glow with a light sublime.
Refrain
The Bible stands though the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For the Bible stands.
The Bible stands like a mountain towering
Far above the works of men;
Its truth by none ever was refuted,
And destroy it they never can.
Refrain
The Bible stands and it will forever,
When the world has passed away;
By inspiration it has been given,
All its precepts I will obey.
Refrain
The Bible stands every test we give it,
For its Author is divine;
By grace alone I expect to live it,
And to prove and to make it mine.
Refrain

Hi everyone. l simply didn't forgot to come here to post. It has also been pretty busy here dealing with this or that and attending a variety of meetings. Hopefully this next week will be calmer as want to reorganize and clean up my office. It is interesting how easy it is to get things cluttered up.
I am not going to try to comment on all the positngs since I was last here as there were alot. However, I have read each comment and noted the needs for prayer.
We are going to church and probably out to lunch.
Aye Pat it wer guid! Pretty mild here in N. Ireland and the snowdrops are well up. So are some daffodils and crocuses. Spring is stirring herself! We did have a little snow but nothing worth.
Now another question!
Who in the Bible wiped out one quarter of the world's population.
Seems tricky but is quite easy...ahem..when you know the answer! <3
Thanks, Colin. I think I know the answer to this next question but I will stand aside and let others try.
I have a feeling you do Jane....you can whisper it in my ear!
Was it Cain?
Beautiful Sunday here. It is still winter and snow on the ground - however, severe avalanche danger and several have died recently. Lots of snow in the mountains and people are so excited to go and play without regard to the danger.
I spilled something oily on my slacks and have a load in the washer soaking and trying to get that oil stain out. Using Shout - not really shouting but I usually have good luck with that and if needed a gritty soap bar from Mexico that is good with stains if used cautiously. Now, I am sure that you needed that information. :coffee:

January 13....a big day for my family. First it was my maternal grandmother's birthday, born in 1876. Then my parents married on this day in 1933. Then my parents were in an auto accident on this day in 1987..their 54th wedding anniversary!! My dad was killed instantly. Mom was flown to an Indy hospital with multiple injuries and didn't come back home for 56 days. She lived another 14 years. But like Mom said January 13, 1988, a year after the accident, she had lots of January 13th's to be happy about so one bad one wasn't going to get her down. What a Mom!
Colin ~ I first wanted to say Noah but all that was left of the world after the great flood was Noah, his three sons and their wives. Unless the world's populations was only 32, it wasn't Noah!
Well, I did it again. I went to church with my sister, Ivalou, this morning. When I got there, some people were really puzzled. It isn't snowing. My car is working fine, right? Well, it seems when I went on my cleaning frenzy this week, I cleaned my radio alarm clock too good. So good I turned the volume to nothing and didn't hear the radio at 6:30am and didn't wake up until getting daylight at 7:30am...time I normally leave for church. So I called Ivalou to see if I could go to church with her.
Three of us went out to eat at Bob Evan's and then Ivalou wanted to exchange a jacket at WalMart. After taking Evelyn back to church to get her car, Ivalou and I went to Lapel for her to get gas for the car and then to Dollar General.
Now I am waiting for 5pm to go to Ivalou's granddaughter's house tonight.
A dreary, yucky day in Indiana....(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fweather%2F5.gif&hash=c403637dbd15c4c3eb09d3e85e02c8f38c5e80e0) It was even snowing while we were in Sunday School! Hmmmmmm...explain your answer Carol!
Colin~ :whisper: Cain?
The qualifier here is that you said "in the Bible" and, all that is recorded in the Bible at that time were Adam, Eve, Cain and Abel ... Sooooo when Cain killed Abel, that'd be ¼. :whisper: :)
Jane you are the Queen.....so is Carol but I knew you already had the answer! <3
As you said, Colin, it was pretty easy after the first question. ;)
I don't know how I missed Carol's answer ... Sorry, Carol. :-[
I knew the answer, too, but got here too late.
We went to church in Hugoton today, so we could see our grandson Mark again before he goes back to college on Tuesday. I had given him a print (aviation) for Christmas, and he handed it back to me. Of course I knew he wants me to frame it for him. He said "because you're a professional." His Dad said, "Professionals get paid for their work. What are you going to pay her?" Mark's answer: "Love and devotion!" Gotta love a boy like that! :)
Not much to say, just checking in.
Not much to say here today but I will give it a good try. I guess I am never at a loss for words just don't say much sometimes.
We had an Evangilist speaking today at church He has been here lots of times before. He spoke on the power of God in prophetic prayer, to pray and keep on praying but have the faith to know that God answers prayers and believe that you receive the answer. There was so much more to it than just that.
The sun was so beautiful when I came out of church but in less than 1 hour it was and is all foggy nd cold. I did take the dogs out for their walks and just got back from that. I ate a Turkey sandwich for lunch and had a glass of Soy milk.
That's all for now folks.
Hello Everyone!
I am kind of a wandering child returning here. I really missed this group but was going through so much I didnt trust myself to
get online for anything more than a quick howdy and to do the
things I needed to do.
We are doing well...and for those who might remember my grandson and myself, I want to let you know that he and I are doing fine.
He graduated with honors from Maranatha Christian Academy ( high school) last June. I want to share so much with you all but am afraid it will come out in a rush and not make much sense.
My son passed away after a long and painful illness just three months ago. I have a youtube tribute to him, if anyone is interested. I do not know how to transfer them and I am not sure everyone would want to see it. If you would like to see it and share in the joy of his life, you can view it on you tube at agiftformom. You have to smush the letters together like that to see it.
My son David who is our "baby" at age 32 made this as a Christmas present for me. It is so beautiful and the surprise at the end is wonderful, so if you should view it, and get to the part that says, "The End"? with a question mark, please keep watching because you get to see his son, in motion at the graduation!
I am hoping to be published this year. My two books, "Minnie's Gift" and "Warm From The Dryer" a collection of my devotionals has gotten the attention of a couple of publishers. We shall see.
I pray that everyone on this board is well and I thank God for all of you!
I shall come in from time to time. As I explained to Pat when first I ventured here, I am not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination,
Zeebers, I'm so very happy to see you back here at home at Christian Photographers. I'm so saddened though to read the news of your dear son. Please accept my apologies. Now that you've found your way back here, you'll just have to check in each day and chat with us all.
Zee that was such a touching presentation of Your son's life. and Michael at the end was so fantastic I love his little dance.
Hi, friends,
I have access to a computer for a bit tonight, so am glad to get in to read most of the postings.
It's certainly great to get to be with my son from England who is here to make a couple of CDs. This coming week he adds the vocals to the instrumentals that were done last week.
Y'all have a good rest of the day. Hope I get to see you again soon.
Time to lock the door and open a new link for the coming week!
