Morning Devotional...
Psalm 42
Have you ever found yourself in a place of being unable for a time to participate in the assembly of God's people? When that has happened, have you felt as if God has left you to yourself, that you are separated from Him – possibly even that He's deserted you? GOOD! You should feel that way!
God has appointed the gathering of His people as one of the means by which He will meet with them, both individually and corporately and if you don't really miss it, then perhaps there's something very wrong with your relationship to Him.
The "sons of Korah," to whom this psalm is attributed, knew this would occasionally happen to God's people - that they'd occasionally be unable for some period of time to attend worship in the temple at Jerusalem, and that they'd sometimes feel that God had deserted them. This song was for them, for those who had to say, "As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, 'Where is your God?'"
But thankfully there was a solution. And you and I can have the same solution. The solution is prayer (and more prayer). In this psalm the people were led to sing, "The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me - a prayer to the God of my life!"
Not only so, but there will be a result! Right now, you have to say, "I will say to God my Rock, 'Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?'" But afterwards you'll be able to say, "Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God!"
The meeting of God's people, the Church, is one of His appointed means for your growth and blessing. It's therefore God's grace operating within you if you feel badly when you miss it. Prayer, prayer, and more prayer is the only solution. Use it!

Be filled with the Spirit.
Ephesians 5:18
Words: Elwood H. Stokes, 1879.
Music: John R. Sweney, 1879
Hover o'er me, Holy Spirit,
Bathe my trembling heart and brow;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come and fill me now.
Refrain
Fill me now, fill me now,
Jesus, come and fill me now;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come, and fill me now.
Thou canst fill me, gracious Spirit,
Though I cannot tell Thee how;
But I need Thee, greatly need Thee,
Come, O come and fill me now.
Refrain
I am weakness, full of weakness,
At Thy sacred feet I bow;
Blest, divine, eternal Spirit,
Fill with power and fill me now.
Refrain
Cleanse and comfort, bless and save me,
Bathe, O bathe my heart and brow;
Thou art comforting and saving,
Thou at sweetly filling now.

Thank you Al.
This has been a quiet day all of us resting and going easy.
My goodness, Al, I don't think I've ever been the first poster!
I'm mighty tired today. There was an important meeting today at church, and I've been voted one of the church board members, so the strains of the responsibilities ahead for me this next year propped my eyelids wide open, and there was no sleep in this apartment last night.
Needless to say, there've been other friends and family activities taking up the rest of the day after church, so my p.j.'s are on, and I'm outta here for tonight.
I'm still praying for Beth and her parents and friends during this critical illness. May God's will be done and we'll trust Him to guide us as we pray and support them with our loving thoughts.
G'nite, friends. :o (This little feller's eyes look about like mine right now, that that tiny open mouth is the beginning of a huge y-a-w-n!)
Today has been uneventful for Mariah and I. She is getting very big very fast, now I know what my Mom was talking about when she said 'You are growing up too fast', Sorry Mom, I don't think I got the memo to stop growing up.
This week is going to be busy with school and court and I am asking for prayer that I will remain strong.
Waiting for my brother to come back home I'm signing off for the night. Just thought I would say, it is nice to be back.
Good Night to All.
Melaura.
Melaura - It's not that your mom wanted you to stop growing up - it's just that it happened too fast. But we like fellowshipping with ya! So hang in there.
Father, I pray for Melaura. I pray You'll give her grace to live for You today. I pray You'll make her know Your Presence and power, and that she'll have reason to praise You and thank You at the end of this day through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Good morning....for a few more minutes!
Melaura ~ Ivalou and I say our kids grow up in spite of us. So you grew up in spite of your parents. Sometimes parents think our kids will never grow up but eventually they do. Mine is 48 years old and he still is my little boy!
Busy day yesterday and I survived! After church we celebrated a ladies birthday by going to Red Lobster. There were 7 of us at the table. She got a candle in her Key Lime Pie and we all sang Happy Birthday to her.
We came home and Inky and I took a nap. Then Tony and Charlene came and we went to Chili's. I only got the bottomless chips and salsa and a Diet Coke. I was still full from lunch!
Today I called to make an appointment for my follow-up with the surgeon. And they are mailing me a new RX for my meds. I have been getting it at my local drug store and it seems I can only get it and two refills and then I have to have it mail-in! The insurance tells me what I have to do!
Tonight is Killbuck Photo Guild. And this afternoon I need to call more of my class that doesn't have email!
Busy week, also!

Etta Sue, Rachael is very low. Last week Cathie was told that maybe she had a couple of days left but she's still hanging on.
We started a webpage with photos for those of her friends and scattered family who want to see them. Here's the URL: http://www.rachaelsjourney.photography-cafe.com/
Sarah, I'm so sorry that you're having an unhappy time in your marriage right now. Please know that I'll add you to my Prayer List and will be praying for you. Please keep us posted from time to time, ok?
Sarah Congratulations on the baby. I too am sorry things are not good in the marriage. Us oldsters know how much work marriage takes.
It is a lovely day here today and as we are to have rain I am going out in a few to do the mowing.
Have a good day everyone.
Al: Thanks for the devotional.
Not a lot happening or at least that is what I think. Yesterday we got up early and headed to Barrie and stopped just north at a truck stop we met Sue & Bruce for breakfast gave then an outdoor table that Mel made following all of that they returned to the trailer and we went to the flea market for the rest of the day. I must mention it was off and on rain all day and cold.
Today I am busy doing indoor stuff and yes it is to rain here later in the afternoon. Also for this time of year it is cold, we need the long sleeve sweaters.
Melaura: Good to see you and do take care of your little girl.
Lunch time and I am getting hungry.
Ruth
Janet just called me and asked me to post this url...
http://www.via-christi.org/ When you go there click on 'Patient Greeting Card' on the left. Beth loves receiving cards and letters from her friends. Her name is Beth, (don't know her last name...anyone?), facility is St. Francis Campus, Room is BC-25. The rest, you know. I just sent a message and hope it went through with just Beth as her name.
She is still in critical condition but stable. But the doctors have told Janet that she will be in the hospital a long time...but he would tell her what a long time meant. But they are going to have to clean out her room at the nursing home where Beth was. Medicare won't pay for the nursing home and the hospital! Bless her heart!
Ohhh, thanks Etta Sue!
I've got it written down here on the steps to take too so possibly between you and me we'll get loads of nice greetings sent to both Janet and Beth in that room.
Go to that Patient Greeting Card:

and here's what to put on the form.
Her name: Beth Brandt
Room: BC25

They will deliver your greetings from Mon. to Fri. during business hours.
I'm calling Janet back at 2:30 as she was feeding Beth when I called just now. She says that she's going to be there for a very long time. :(
Let's get lots of greetings sent to both of them.
Ruth, Melaura is a good Mommy. Doing such a good job. She is going to college in September to upgrade her sciences and then on to medicine. I am a proud Mama.
Prayers are going up here for Beth and Janet, and will continue to do so.
I am finished mowing for today, didn't need the bug jacket, but I did run out of gas. Frustrating as I have so little to finish. Oh well Hopefully the rain will stop in the morning tomorrow, and I will be able to finish.
I have 2 Monday cadet nights left. We will find out soon when Kass goes to cadet camp, she is taking ITAC or Introduction to Aviation Course. This winter she will be gone Wednesday nights and staying with Melaura. There is a ground school class at the police station that will help with preparing her for her wings. We had a young man sitting with us at the CO's dinner and what an amazing fellow he was. HE has the rank of Flight Sargent. He asked what direction Kass was going for and then came up with all the information she needs to accomplish that goal. I found out that one of the captains of the Snow Birds was a cadet in North Bay and received his wings through the Cadet Corps.
Air Cadets was started in 1941 and the aim was to prepare young men for war. Now the goal is to prepare young people for leadership in all areas of society. There is a big emphasis on volunteering,
Well I must go and finish my day's work
Etta Sue and Pat ... Thanks, so much, for the information on Beth and the opportunity to send greeting cards to her and Janet. My heart truly goes out to them as they endure these difficult times away from home and familiarity. :(
QuoteMelaura - It's not that your mom wanted you to stop growing up - it's just that it happened too fast. But we like fellowshipping with ya! So hang in there.
I know my mom wanted me to grow up and I also know she is proud of the woman I have become. I owe her a lot of thanks for raising me into the person I am. Mom has often said that I have grown up too fast; but if it wasn't for her I don't think I would know half of what I do. She has become more than a mom to me, she is a great friend and listener too. I love you mom.

I'm not sure what Ivalou means, but I'm sure it is something good lol. I will always be my Mom's baby, but I value more now than I ever did growing up. She has turned out to be one of the greatest friends a young parent could ever ask for!
QuoteWows Melaura I didn't even know you got married? I missed that somewhere, and now you have a baby. How old is the Mariah? Or is Mariah some on else's baby? I am lost here.
Well I didn't exactly do things the way I should have, but my daughter is my life. I am a single mom and I couldn't ask for more. Mariah just turned 14 months, but it feels like just yesterday I was pregnant with her. I haven't been on in a very long time, and Mom told me that having a child was for my bragging rights not hers lol. She has every reason to brag about her beautiful granddaughter and she is an amazing grand parent.

Mom I'm SO happy that you think I am a good Mommy, Mariah is my life<3 Highschool has been a tough time for me, but in the end I know it will be worth it. Hopefully in September I will be taking pre-health at the community college, then I'm off to university to complete my undergrad and grad. My goal is to be an Orthopedic Surgeon.
Who was the cadet? I wish I had stayed, it was an amazing opportunity for me, and I'm SO glad the girls are taking it.
I have written all the prayer needs down and I will continue to pray for Rachel. Even though I haven't had the opportunity to meet her, I'm sure she is an amazing person.
After a long day at school, I am off for the night. Mariah is taking her nap so I am going to take some time to catch up with some friends over the phone and MSN. Have a good night to all.
Melaura thank you. Keep up the good work!
Don't forget folks to send our Janet and Beth some greetings.
Melaura! It's so nice to see your beautiful face again. It's been a bit of time since we met here in Nashville! God bless you and your sweet baby. Congratulations on continuing your education. Best wishes as you progress.
Thanks, Etta Sue and Pat for keeping us updated. I'll be using that information you gave us - printed it out for reference.
May God's love abide with each of us throughout this day.
Thanks so much, Ruth Ann.
Tisie on Seniors and Friends is going to try to go and have lunch with Janet. She's right there and says that she'll do that. I'm so happy.
We really need to hold each other up at times like this.
Which reminds me... Rachael is very low. Last week, the doctors said "Maybe a couple of days." And she's still hanging on.
Well, her older sister saw a purple dress in some store window in Toronto and she bought it and the school in London (Principal of the school) is planning on bringing some students and some teachers to the hospital on Friday to have a mini graduation ceremony for Rachael, bed and all and they are going to put on that purple dress for her to wear. I hope that she will be able to do this. She's sleeping quite a lot now.
Good Morning,
It is 6:47am here in North Bay and it is the start to many of our days. Today I have a long busy day but the best part is going to be having lunch with a few old special friends.
I attend Family Enrichment, this is a parenting course run through the Catholic School Board. Attending this program gives me 3 highschool credits, socialization with other moms and dads, it gives Mariah a time where she can be with different friends and so on. This program simply amazes me as it is my second year attending. At the end of the year we have 'field trips' with our children which starts today. I'm going to be a busy busy girl for the weeks to follow, but it will be very nice to spend more time with Mariah.
After Family Enrichment I'll be dropping my baby off at her wonderful daycare. The providers are very friendly and never get upset with the constand questions I have about how my baby is doing. They care for her so well while Mommy is off getting that thing called an education; she always comes home with lots of smiles but is ready to go to bed shortly after.
School is going well. I am tired, but I will have it all done by next week, I hope. From what I've been hearing I have done enough now to still get all my credits; but there is something in me that makes me want to succeed.
QuoteMelaura! It's so nice to see your beautiful face again. It's been a bit of time since we met here in Nashville! God bless you and your sweet baby. Congratulations on continuing your education. Best wishes as you progress.
Thank you very much Ms. Bice. it hasn't been easy but it is worth it.

Auntie Pat, I'm continuing to pray for her and the family. It is very nice how the school is going to bring grad to her. It is every students dream to get there, and she deserves that dream. Could you e-mail me at some point and tell me a little about her so I can write her a letter? I'd like her family as well as her to know I'm praying and thinking about them.
Well my 10 minutes are up, Its time to get this show on the road.
Melaura: And, a very good morning & happy day to you! It is nice reading about your dreams and ambitions. Take care.
4:19 AM - that is when I awoke with the onset of a crummy cold. I went right to the closet and without turning on a light found our First-Aid plastic box and now have that set on the kitchen counter with all of the stuff for battling a cold right away. Airborne and sipping a throat tea that has Slippery Elm and something else in it. I was going for a walk this morning but it looks almost like rain any minute.
Don bought us headsets for watching t.v. and really it is nice because I was watching & listening to the news with the sound turned way down.
Yawn...... :coffee:
Carol have you ever tries a spray of Oil of Oregano? It is highly recommended here in the north.
I drove the girls to their bus this morning. it is raining and they would have been soaked to the skin. The rain should be stopping by lunch time. I sure hope so. The temperatures have remained a good 10 degrees below normal. As Ruth said a few ago it is still long sleeve and sweater weather. At least this rain is good for the garden. The back field has the oats sprouted.
Bye for now I will be back later.
Hi everyone. A beautiful day here. Just back from coffee. We didn't walk this morning as other things intervened. We are having our friends visit from Maryland this afternoon. We always go out to lunch when they get here and then spend the afternoon visiting. However, this time they are bringing a laptop and have asked me to look it over and see if I can get it to run any faster. So I will be working on it.
Pat, thanks so much for giving us the way to communicate with Beth and Janet. I will send a message as soon as I finish writing here. Your speaking of the planned graduation coming to Rachel is similar to a story they have had on the news here where a young lady has serious health problems and her friends staged a mini prom for her in the hospital and also a graduation. We have so many wonderful and thoughtful young people in our society.
Melura, it is exciting to read of your drive and ambition. Never let anyone steal your dreams and goals. Things worthwhile are worth the work and effort that usually goes with them. All walks start with the first steps and finishing your high school and doing the college preparation are those steps. It is so nice to read the nice things you write concerning your relationship with your mother.
Carol, I hope the cold will not linger. Summer colds are miserable. Guess that is true of all colds. What is the brand of the headsets Don got and can each person control the volume without effecting the volume on the TV? I bought some awhile ago but when the volume was turned up on the headset it also increased the volume on the TV and that was not what I wanted.
Good to see all the other posts but guess I had better stop this posting before it turns book length. :)
Melaura, the only way of communicating with Rachael right now in on her caring bridge site. She doesn't have internet. Here's a link and you only have to click on Register and you can write in the Guest Book. Anyone can. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/rachael
You can see pictures too on this website I set up for them:
http://www.rachaelsjourney.photography-cafe.com/
Another one of those cooler days, no rain but cloudy.
I have been spending some time really a lot of time removing seams on 2 pair of kitchen curtains, the rods I am changing then I will be changing the style in a small way, I call it change without costing.
I will be headed down stairs with a load of laundry and after that I will see what needs to be done.
Have a great day.

Thank you, Pat, for showing the webpages on here for sending a card to Beth. I don't know how to do that. I should learn. And thanks for providing Beth's last name.
Melaura ~ What Ivalou and I mean by 'they will grow up in spite of us' is when ..... and I am thinking that all parents have a time when their kids are having problems of some kind or other...the kids have overcome those problems and grow up in spite of what we try to encourage them to do instead of what they are doing. Does that make sense? Thank God, kids get out of that 'stage' and grow up! You are a very ambitious young lady. All countries need more people in the medical field.
Sarah ~ I forgot to comment on your new baby. A baby. How exciting is that? So sorry your marriage isn't what you desire it to be. It takes three to make a marriage...God, you and him. When both of you put God first, it will work!
Photo Guild was awesome. We had 52 digital images to view plus some printed photos and slides. The most outstanding photo to me was four Blue Angels flying on an awesome cloudy day. We have a small airport south of here and every year they have a fantastic air show. This one lady was there both days! Her photo would have been great with just the clouds...or just the Blue Angels...but the two together....awesome! You could even see the lights on in the four cockpits! She has to enter it at the State Fair!
It is a hazy, overcast day in Indiana. Ivalou says her house is sooo humid. I guess my new A/C unit is taking the humidity out or keeping it out of my house. I am fine!
I just sent another card to Beth and Janet. So glad that Janet let me know how to do this. It did take awhile to find the correct website but perseverance paid off. (^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(

Etta Sue, I'm so happy that you are enjoying this Photo Guild so much. I just wish that we had one here in Guelph. I'd so love to attend. I'll just have to have a long weekend with you and stay over Monday night! ;) ;)
I will go and repost the screen shots again so that the folks today won't have to scroll back to find the directions to send Beth and Janet a greeting. It's important NOT to put Janet's name on as it must be a patient's name but she'll get to read it anyway. ;)
Carol, get over that cold! We don't need you sick in here! :)
Ruth, those curtains sound great! Just the right price!

I sent a card, too, early this morning. I imagine they have delivered it by now.
I sent a card yesterday, but will try to send another one today.
I was out "car shopping" yesterday with my neighbors. A couple really good possibilities, but we'll go again this afternoon, and check out a couple more car dealers.
I received the insurance check, for the total loss of my Corolla, yesterday.
I've bookmarked the site and will try to send one every day.
Good morning from the still-overcast Oregon coast. :)
Melaura, I have a great grandbaby that is 14 months, a grandbaby that is 16 months, so when you mentioned your little one, I just had to smile. There are no others so sweet, so innocent, so full of promise as the just born. I know you would have chosen to be married first, but we all make mistakes and receive the consequences that go with that. You have this precious baby now, and your life is forever changed. I'll add my prayers to the others here for all you and your little one need. Our Father is so good at providing, as you know. :) Thank you, honey, for telling us. It's good that you are keeping a good foothold on making your (and baby)future a good one. We know you are a good mama, cuz your mama thinks you are. :) Bless you, sweetheart.
Me again. lol I was so thinking of Melaura's little one, that I forgot to say anything else..
Jane, I'm glad you got your money and can find a car. Also sooo glad that you have a man to go with you when you shop. Those car dealers sure can be aggressive when they see a woman shopping for a car.
Etta Sue, your surgery didn't slow you down. You are busy and involved. I always like reading about your day.
Carol, I remember my husband used to use a headseat. Not really a headset, but ear plugs. We had to have the connection added to the tv, and then he would have it turned way up and I couldn't hear it so didn't bother my reading. By accident we found that if the plug was pulled part way out, he could still hear well, and it wasn't high volume for me. He was very hard of hearing, so you can imagine what it sounded like to the rest of us. :) Sorry about your cold. Hopefully it will run a quick course and leave you alone.
Larry, I'm sure your friends would rather have the laptop running smoothly than having lunch. I know I would feel that way. :) You are a blessing to others with your computer geekness. :)
Well I'm living and breathing and have a pulse today, so that is always a good sign. :thumb: I am getting things ready for the trip, I just about have my small duffel bag all packed except for the last minute things like make up, medicine and other cosmetic type stuff. I have my camera bag ready with extra batteries and the battery charger.
Keith came in a few minutes ago and was on his way to Bandon for a meeting with a client and the contractors. They will be feeding him there so I didn't have to fix lunch for him.
It is still gloomy out, the weather channel said showers off and on all week, but that is not what the local weather man said, we just have to wait and see what happens. I will walk the dogs a little later anyway.
Have a very Blessed Day everyone.
Pumpkin bars will be coming out of the oven in five minutes - you must wait until they cool & I will put a cream cheese & walnut frosting on them.
Sorry, that is pecans - all I had was a big bag of pecan halves in the garage refrigerator.
Listening to my old church channel that I have set up on Pandora - they want to throw in some things I don't like so I keep running over here to put in my thumbs down.
I don't think I have a cold after all. It may have been an allergy attack of some kind - will know by tomorrow. Thanks for your concern all. I feel pretty special that so many mentioned get well and had interesting ideas. Oil of Oregeno from JudyB - do you then smell like a dish of spaghetti? :D
It smells divine in here - a heavenly smell of pumpkin bars for sure.......
Larry: I will see what Don says about these - they do work well for us or otherwise, I could hear everything all over the house and it is nice when I want to watch & listen to something as well if he is reading. We do try to accommodate each other at times ;)
Does the card site actually hand a card to the patient or is it a typed message? Either way, it is so nice for us to let Janet and Beth know that we care about them.
OH now Carol that is not fair....tempting us with pumpkin bars and cream cheese pecan topping. They sound wonderful!
No the oil of oregano doesn't stay and I haven't detected any odor. It just works.
Kass made dinner tonight. Mashed potatoes....they were actually whipped! with ground chicken mixed with peppers, onions, tomatoes, and thickened. It was yummy.
Exams are coming rapidly. The stress has started. I always hated school, and rarely passed an exam because of the stress. Thankfully they do better than I did.
Got to go Kassie is going to read the Bible...Proverbs 9 for the 9th day of the month.
Carol, they type out the greeting that you type in. Then they take that to the patient.
Melaura, did you see that we have an arcade on here? Lots and lots of fun! When I can't sleep at night sometimes, I come and play a few games.
Click on the Arcade button on the little blue tabs above.
Morning Everyone!
I drop in read often but time doesn't permit posting often...Appreciate reading about your days going on. Sounds like you are doing well...So glad to hear... 8)
Still haven't met my flower garden deadline...which was May 31 then June 8-So now for sure it will be done within a week...Some of seeds I planted month or so ago popping up...I love it when it is filled in-which I have to remind myself-Patience is a virtue...
I tried to get info on Janet and Beth, not sure if I quite understand I went back 4-5 thoughts of weeks-So would anyone mind filling in the spots for me? I would really appreciate it....
Have to pick up my daughter and to the garden when I get back-Hopefully I'll feel like getting out there if it's not to hot...Whatever I start my day off sets the mood for accomplishments.
Just thought I 'd drop in. God is the blesser of our days...May he Bless yours.... :)
Juanita, so nice to see your post in here.
Beth is Janet's daughter and she's been very, very ill and this last trip to the hospital was an emergency as Beth has many things wrong due to her condition of neurofibromotosis but while having surgery recently to remove some of the tumors, her bowel was perforated and she was five weeks that way before they realized and she's in critical but stable condition in Wichita. Janet is having to stay in Ronald McDonald House while there 24 hours a day.
So, we're trying to send lots of cheery greetings to her on the hospital system. I know she'd appreciate hearing from you.

I got a call last night that we are having Red Hats today so I have a little bit of time before I have to get dressed and over to Ivalou's house to be picked up at 11am.
No, the surgery hasn't slowed me down much. A much better night last night and I talked to the InterStim Therapy nurse yesterday and she told me to be patient...sometimes it takes time for the procedure to kick in!
My friend in Mexico that lost his MSN IM got it back last night. He tried doing a restore and either wasn't doing it right or at least, it didn't do right. But he was searching in some folders for something else and found the download file, maybe .exe file, for installing MSN IM so he sent me a Good Morning message today.
Gotta go. Rainy and gloomy today but still no SNOW!@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@

Here it is well after noon and I have missed Pat's Birthday!
:hb2: :hb2: :hb2: :hb2:
:hb3: PAT
:hb2: :hb2: :hb2: :hb2:
A very Happy Birthday to you, Pat. What are you doing to do? Whatever it is, be blessed.
I have had Maycie Doodle Bug since last night so haven't had time to get in here. She takes ALL my time when she's here. :) Right now she's in her high chair eating lunch, so I sneaked in to say hello.
Hi, Pat, Happy Birthday from the South!
Hope your day is a great one.
Y'all have a good 'un, too!
Ruth Ann
Happy Birthday Pat

:hb2: :hbgift: :hbirthday: :hb2:
Yes-Happy Birthday Pat!!! :hbirthday: :sidedance:
I only just discovered the calendar earlier...There's a few things I still need to explore here....
I celebrate the day of your arrival in this world, Pat! I celebrate all that God has given us in you. I celebrate YOU!
Hi everyone and Happy Birthday, Pat.
I just got home from choir practice. We had only about a dozen choir members there. Next week may be our last choir practice until August although we will be singing the next three Sundays but have the music just about ready and always have a rehearsal on Sunday morning.
Today after Bible study I went over to my friends house and helped her get her computer back on the internet. She still has dialup and somehow had gotten the wrong number in the dialup dialog. I then tried to get a new printer she had installed but that effort wasn't successful. She is getting cable DSL on the 24th. I heard back from my friend from Maryland that the work we did on his computer had really speeded it up. We had a nice visit with he and his wife and also had a nice lunch.
It is late so will just say good night.
Pat is spending the evening with Andrew and the family. Good for her.
Well the girls have finished on the computer, and I can finally check out the posts. This has been a strange day, Starting with rain and it is still overcast and trying to rain.
I have to go into NBay tomorrow, so I will be off to bed early. Have a good night everyone.
Good night, Judy.
My little ggranddaughter went home around 2, so I've been "resting" ever since. And watching videos of her that I took with the digital. :)
The dogs are so happy she's gone. lol I know they'll be glad when both of the girls are older. Megan never bothers them, but Maycie wants to touch them all the time. Touching works with "nice" for awhile, but there's always that need for a power hug which turns into a hair pulled. I have to keep her away from them all the time. One of these days.......they'll be begging for her attention, and her food.
Larry, I think you should come to Coos Bay and work on a friend's computer. She has DSL, her computer has as much memory as mine, CPU is same, but her computer is so slow. With everything we've tried, nothing changes. Defrag, cache deletion, temp, etc. I use Windows Advanced Care as a free program that optimizes and cleans the registry. Maybe that's what she should do. I guess some use CCleaner, but I onl use that one to clean up.
I'll say good night now and see you tomorrow.
'Nite, Nita .... see you tomorrow  ;)
Hi, Jane. I had my post written and the phone rang, so I was talking to Kim and forgot to post it. :) See you tomorrow.
Good Morning everybody!
I'm feeling 'bright eye and bushy tail'. :coffee: :coffee:
I am usually up this time every morning but dont get on the net until DH leaves for work... Our day starts at 4am if were not hitting the snooze button, lol.
I hope your day is full of love to God and to one another.
Thank you my friends for being here! :boots: :pine:
juanital, There is no way I could be bright eyed and bushy tailed at that time in the morning. It is normal for me to be going till late in the evening instead.
Pat I hope you had a good time at Andrews. Did Janice join you there? John was parked in Janice's town last night. HE had an AM delivery there.
I have to pick Melaura up at 8:30 AM so I have to get going today. I had a rough night last night, Couldn't sleep for anything. My mind was too busy.
Be back later

Pat ~ I am sorry I missed your birthday yesterday! :tissue:
Well, we got a terrible storm last evening and even a power outage. So no wiener roast/picnic in the woods this weekend. The lane is a tad bit lower than the fields so it is last to dry out. Sure don't want people getting stuck in the lane! Them and the lane would suffer. Right now I am living on lake front property! So hopefully it will be dry next week, the 20th!
Just got a call from Ivalou and Betty, our friend from church that goes to Beef and Boards with us and also went to Florida with us...her son lives about three miles away. They lost a big tree last night. The tree fell on the granddaughter's car and the son's car. The grandson's car and DIL's car was in the garage and okay. There is a shed on the property and half of it fell in on the son's pickup truck!!! They have a porch with cement blocks for railings and all the porch furniture was blown out into a field! Sounds like a mini-tornado!
Gotta go...Ivalou and I are going to Noblesville....to eat...what else, we don't know!!^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+

Etta Sue: Sorry about the problems that the wind caused.
Pat: Belated Happy Birthday
Judy: Drive carefully which I am sure you always do.
Lots to do and feeling lazy but later on I will be headed out to the grocery store food we do need. I got a couple of stressful phone calls one is health related and other was just plain ....................... I sure wish I had no feelings and then I would tune them out and not even care.
Have a great afternoon and evening. Ruth
Tisie, a long-time friend from SeniorNet days, visited Janet and got a wonderful picture of her. She's posted the picture on another site and I'm trying to get her permission to post the picture here or at least a link to it.
Tisie won't mind, Jeanne. I know it.
I want to thank you all for the lovely birthday greetings.
It's wonderful to have online friends like 'y'all". (Hey, I sound like Ruth Ann!)
Pat, I have two pictures of Janet ready for posting. Can I put them in here?
Yes, Jeanne
Ok, then here they are. Tisie did a wonderful job taking them.

How lovely to see our Janet! I must say though, that she looks tired. But who wouldn't be tired doing what she's doing?
Thanks Jeanne!
Pat, that was my first thought, too, how tired she looks.
JANET HAS A LAPTOP NOW!!!
Yep!
The batteries are getting charged now and as soon as the store phones her, Darrel is going to go and pick it up.
So, we'll be hearing from her!
Great news!
Hi, everyone. I just wanted you to know I posted a picture of Jane's new car in photos. Now I won't be the only one to get to see it. :)
I'm sending the pictures to you too, Jane.
edit: I didn't even scroll back to see the news and pictures of Janet. Bless her heart. From all she's been through, she doesn't look wiped out. I know she looks tired, but I know God is sustaining her in this time. It'll be so good to hear from her. We love you, Janet!!
Hi everyone. I have had a busy but productive day with most of the morning involved in getting my online banking setup with our local bank that was closed on a Friday by the FDIC and reopened the following week by new ownership. They have now switched to a different online billing system and it wasn't very simple to set it up. I had to call them for help but finally got it.
I have also spent several hours today working on getting the photos for the Senior Golden Games on the website. I am finally caught up with everything I needed to do on the website.
I don't know whether I mentioned it before but a couple of days ago we purchased a ROKU player to work with the Netflx account we have where Stacey can get DVDs. You can stream any of the 12,000+ movies and TV shows that they have available for instant viewing and the wireless box let's us play these on the TV. We are really liking it as it is simple to use and there are no commercials.
Nita, I would suggest your friend with the slow computer download a program called Advance System Care. I have used it on our computers and on the one I worked on Tuesday and it seems to really speed things up. It has a optimization command. Here is some info and the link: Advanced SystemCare Free 100% Freeware

I appreciated seeing the pictures of Janet and glad to know she is getting a laptop.
This has been a long day. There was a family member who had a problem and I went to their aid. Home now to teenage problems.....It comes with the territory.
Good to see such good pictures of Janet. Thank you Jeanne.
Pat did you have a good evening last night? Can you send me a PM with Janice's phone number?
I am off I have calls to make
JudyB
Great to see Janet's picture. Thanks to Tisie and all who forwarded it.
Belated birthday greetings to  Pat :cheer:
The stitching circle went well - there were 11 of us while five called to say they were coming. I managed OK. Tomorrow, Don is driving back to Fort Collins and I am going to be with my quilting friends for morning & lunchtime at the basement of the old Methodist church. Can't wait.
:cheer: :laff: :cheer: CONGRATULATIONS ETTA SUE!!! :groupwave:
Etta Sue is the Champion of the game
CHOMPER (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?action=arcade;sa=play;game=48) in our Arcade!!!!

Pat this as well as the other pictures are beautiful. You were a beautiful bride and you are a beautiful couple.
Love you Sis
Hi everyone. Just back from coffee and have to leave again in a few minutes to attend to something this morning. When I got to coffee this morning I accidentially let the door of the senior center catch two of the fingers on my right hand. One of the fingers it smashed pretty well at the base of the nail and the other isn't too bad. I likely will eventually lose the one nail as it is already turning dark. The door closer devise worked in opening but apparently doesn't work as it is closing allowing it to slam and I had diverted my eyes. It doesn't feel really great but tolerable. I just took a couple of Tylonol so will be fine.
Pat, that was a lovely picture of you and Paul. I finally played about three of the games last evening but sure didn't set any records. They were fun and I will play them again.
Carol, it sounds like you are really enjoying your quilting group. Pat and a friend just cut out and then Pat sewed up several lap bibs from old vinyl tableclothes and took them yesterday to our respite center a the church called Calvin Cove. The craft group is starting to make things for the Christmas sale they always have and Pat has a project to make somethings for it. She doesn't enjoy the weekly get together to work on the projects so prefers to do hers at home.
Hope everyone has a good day. Sure hope Janet gets her laptop computer today. Etta Sue, those catcus flowers were unreal in beauty. Hope you will send those for Janet to see if you haven't done so already.
I'm leaving now for London, Ontario. I'm very sad. I'm not sure what I'm going to be faced with when I arrive with poor Rachael. I just wish I knew if she had made a commitment to our Lord and Savior to make Him Lord of her life. If I really knew that, I'd not feel this way.
Anyway, I was thinking of this hymn as I was getting ready to go.
Please pray that if it's the Lord's will that I may have an opportunity to witness for Him while I'm gone. I'll be home late tonight.
Larry use ice on those fingers. That will help. Also Tylenol for pain is good.
Pat you have echoed my thoughts. I was praying about that today. May God use you.
Larry, OUCH! :'(
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FBabyBath.gif&hash=2dc225ddaa6ba7f1d420f011308a94883f3d44e0)
I like challenges. Pat mentioned the Arcade and Chomper was first. I wanted to beat ScottyBoy and did! Still surprised at myself. I tried a few other games but either I didn't understand them or didn't know what to do. They weren't challenging.
Today my neighborhood is having garage sales. Since I had surgery a week ago and was planning on the weiner roast, I decided to not get involved. But I have a working sweeper, a full size memory foam mattress pad and my old HP Printer that was working when I unplugged it out at the end of my driveway with FREE signs on them. Hope I get takers...don't want to bring them back in.
Thanks for posting the pictures of Janet. Just wish I was closer and I would help her with her new laptop. Hope she has better luck in learning than I did. Frustrating at first and then things clicked in and I love my laptop now!
No rain today but I doubt that I can mow this afternoon so I will probably paint the wall where the new A/C is. Been doing some laundry and catching up on the internet....slowly. + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253EIct2.gif&hash=9431755652d3935cf892f7394b809a478cf84756)
Hello to all. I have been sitting on the couch with the heating pad on my shoulder. I think the pain is caused from using the mouse for long hours working on my PSP lessons.
I am all packed, (except for what I still need to use) for the trip tomorrow. When the gal called to verify our reservation, she remembered me from last year when I told her my name.
I have been worrying about the dogs as they have never been boarded before and I feel so sorry for them not knowing what is going on or if I am coming back to get them.
They do know that I came back to get them on the days they went there to visit, but this time they will be taken by the owner to her private horse boarding farm. I don't know how well they will behave to get in a car with someone they are not that familiar with.
Hotmail will be sending out vacation notices to those in my address book and who send me emails every 4 days automatically. So please don't send me any emails until after the 21st when I return from Sunriver.
So long for now, however I shall return.
Good morning, everyone.
Etta Sue, I'll take your foam topper. You will deliver...right? :) I'm just not good at those games. I go more for thinking games, logic (not that I am favored with great logistical thinking. LOL) rather than speed. Just knowing it's timed can slow me down. You go, girl!
Larry, I have Advanced System Care on my computer and really like it. I was calling it something else, maybe Advanced Windows Care, in my post where I mentioned their problem, so you must not have seen that. I use the program mentioned weekly and really appreciate it. Really like the free part. :)
I'm staying home all day and as quick as I am done here will go out and start weedeating. I'll mow this afternoon.
The change over from analog to digital is upon us. I notice I can't pick up OPB(Public Broadcasting) so may need a new antenna. I have dish, so the only programs I am missing are the locals. I could switch to tv and get them through the air, but now I hve to add my digital/analog box to the other boxes. This world is becoming to electric for me. I think I'll move in the woods for awhile. Use my coal oil lamp, wood heat, comfy bed or course, and lots of green all around me. Maybe a creek. haha Ahh the comforts of home.:)
Have a blessed day everyone. I'm praying for Beth and Rachael. Pat, I know God touched Ron's heart at just the last moment, so He can touch Rachael's too.
Marilyn, I hope the dogs do ok. I know this is a concern for you.
love, nita
Nita there is an area in our bush that would be great for a cabin. If there were a fireplace added to a cabin it would be great year round. We are thinking of building an A Frame back there for the girls as a retreat. If you want that kind of life come on out east and enjoy!!
I am sewing today..Have been taking a break from it as I was waterlogged so to speak. So now back at it.
John is on his way home. Be in by 7 or 8. I have stripped the bed so have that to do as well.
Have a great afternoon.
Nita, when you set up your camp in the woods, don't forget that little house in back with the crescent in the door. ;)
Jeanne, you're too much! I'm glad you are.
I'm also glad for the truth of Psalm 103:1-3: "Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy Name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniqities, Who heals all your diseases . . ."
I had some kind of bug night before last, and it made my just a little dizzy when I had to go down the hall during the middle of the night, so that I was weaving and bumping the walls all the way down. Feeling much better today. Thanks be to the Lord, as in the Psalm above.
Jeanne We can build that one too!!!
Glad you are feeling better Al.
I was away all morning and since being home I have phoned Auntie, Mel stopped in only to be gone again and soon I will have to pick up the mail as I am looking for an important letter.
Green Lawn has just come to the door , they will be pulling weeds and fertilizing
Don't forget the house with the half moon.
Pat: Your update photo's show that you and Paul are still in love. I trust that you will have many years together.
Hi Ruth Sounds like you are having a good day! That is great How is your Aunt? Good that someone else is doing the weed pulling, That would be hard on your back. Has salmon fishing started yet?
Al, Psalm 103 is the one I read the first six verses of in French on Pentacost Sunday.
Larry: Having finger pain - that is a real owie.
Al: Dizzy from a bug - hope all is over very soon. That is scary.
Pat: Hugs to you as you go to be with your niece and family. Love the pictures of you and your groom.
Etta Sue: Wishing you a complete recovery so you can get back into the zest of life again.
I just returned from Loveland and had such a nice day with the quilting group. They are so talented.
Really tired from the drive - I was co-pilot. There are a bunch of pumpkin bars left - that recipe just keeps on giving. Putting my feet up & I have no idea what for dinnertime.
ok, Jeanne. For you.....we build the little "cabin" with the crescent door. No roughing it for us. :)
I've finished with all the weed eating I'm doing today, and some of the mowing. I have to take breaks to sit and rest my back. I'll get it done tomorrow. OOPS! When I said that I just looked at my desktop weather thing and it shows rain tomorrow. I guess I'd better mow more tonight.
Judy, your spot sounds just perfect for a cabin. :) Oregon has lots of great places to build cabins. When we drive up the river, they are sitting all along there. Some are simple and some are more modern and I'm sure have all of the perks of modern life.
I have always preferred simplicity. I would miss my computer, but as I adjusted to the surroundings in my Gentle Ben life, I'd find that nature more than compensates for all I might miss. But then I wouldn't have met you all either. I guess you all have to come with me. :) We could sit out under the stars, around a camp fire, and talk to God who would be right there in our midst, of course.
You got it Nita.
Wondered why the dogs were barking tonight. It was still light out. We looked out and there were 2 deer romping in the field behind the house. They saw us and continued with their romp. It was quite a site. They were too far away for pictures though.
I am owned by a dog. She was sitting at the door waiting for me. No sound just waiting. This is her normal time to go out but such expectations!
Many of you know what I've been going through since my cousin's daughter was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor on Mar. 25/09. She's 18 and now the school and all of her teachers planned the graduation ceremony in the hospital today. They had a programme and all students were in their caps and gowns and there was one just for Rachael as well. She received several special awards and was very highly thought of by her teachers and principal and vice principals. There were no dry eyes today.
Just thought I'd post this class photo from my sad journey to London today.
Those kids really love Rachael as they surround her bedside.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rachaelsjourney.photography-cafe.com%2Falbums%2Fuserpics%2FDSC_1698Class.jpg&hash=e31bc780ab2841e81447b9f3c4f03cc59852f33d)
I will be uploading many photos that I took into Rachael's website at:
Rachael's Journey (http://www.rachaelsjourney.photography-cafe.com/displayimage.php?album=5&pos=0)
Hi everyone. I am here before going to coffee this morning. We had a lot of thunder and lightning last evening and rain. However, today is suppose to be clear and hot.
Not much on my schedule for today other than to attend a meeting today. Perhaps we will go out to lunch and do some grocery shopping and then stay in where it is cool.
Pat, what a nice, although very sad, picture you posted here and I have loaded the web link for Rachel's page. This is the time when we need to keep reminding ourselves that all things happen in accordance with God's plan for each individual life. It is hard for our human minds to accept this in situations like this where such a young life is involved.
Judy, my wife said she say a deer in our neighborhood yesterday as she was driving out of it. I would just as soon not see a deer while in my car. My friend with the large gardens has a terrible problem with the deer eating his plants and also a problem with rabbits.
Thanks for the advice on treating my fingers. The middle finger is very sore to the touch or when I put pressure on it but the black area hasn't gotten any bigger. I did use some ice water but it was very painful to do so and therefore didn't do it very long. At least it doesn't bother my typing.
Marilyn, hope you and Keith have a wonderful vacation and your shoulder gets to feeling better and doesn't impact your vacation.
Nita, I don't think I associated the two programs for computer maintenance. I am just using the free program and it seems to really work.
Al, hope that feeling better continues today.
I was able to speak with Janet yesterday afternoon and tried to give her a little help with her new laptop. She was working under less than ideal conditions but was trying to get into this site and didn't remember her password. Pat, I treid to find it for her but didn't locate it so helped her get a new registration and hopefully she will be able to post here shortly. All of us with laptops know how difficult it is to use the touch pad when you are not used it using anything but a mouse. As we were ending a rather long conversations she told me she has exceeded the allowed minutes on her cell plan. I suggested she get a Skype account set up as her computer apparently comes with that software and has a camera and built in mic.
Larry, I'm glad you mentioned that Janet has exceeded her cell phone minutes. I was going to give her a call today but cell phones get charged for incoming as well as outgoing minutes :clobber: so I'll settle again for just sending one of those hospital greeting cards.
Do you know what user name she chose for her new registration?
Well, we don't want Janet to have a new registration as then all of her hundreds and hundreds of past posts will be gone.
So, I'll instead just help her with her password problem.
I did redo it but only to a password she chose and it's the same on Seniors & Friends.
Jeanne - I'm glad you can read Ps. 103 in French. However, I'm also glad I couldn't hear it, 'cause I cannot understand French. I took German, Latin, Greek, Hebrew - got A or B on them all. But French - I took a "Withdrew Failing." I spent hours in the language lab trying to listen to it, but it just didn't take. It's an inhumane language (inhumane to me anyway).
Al, we had it read simultaneously in six different languages for Pentecost Sunday. Quite a cacophony!
It would be good for us to know if her cell phone allows free calls after "x" time at night (mine is 7 pm, but most I think are 9 pm) and also free calls on Saturday and Sunday.
She may still be able to keep in touch. Also, if someone speaks with her, my company allows us to purchase 100 extra minutes at a time for only $5. So, she may need to do that during this stressful time.
What was the update on Beth?
I'm going to have company in a few moments, and then a friend is in town for only the weekend, so a group of the ladies from our church are meeting with her for supper at Golden Corral (her request) buffet restaurant to celebrate being able to see her again. If y'all remember, I had a vey special prayer request recently, and it was for this lady. Her daughter who lives in Florida has her living at her home, now, and she's doing eve so much better.
See y'all later. Have a great day.
Ruth Ann

Yesterday I got my wall painted near the A/C, the floors all mopped, and the sweeper is gone. The mattress pad and printer is at the end of the driveway.
I had a night I couldn't sleep. Played on the computers, printed some stuff and played games. Went back to bed at 4am!! I sure don't want to take a nap today or I won't sleep tonight either.
I need to mow today. There is still water standing in portions of the yard but I will either go through it or around it! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Good morning all. Today is baby day, so I'll just rush back out until they and moms leave. I love baby days! They play together and it blesses me to see them.
Pat I'm looking forward to seeing the photos you post on Rachael's webpage. I've looked at the others, plus read mom's thoughts and emails. It's all so very touching. Great sadness and inspiration at the same time.
Janet just called me a few minutes ago saying she had been able to get to the public areas here on CP but hadn't been able to post because something was preventing her from signing on. Fortunately Pat had provided me with the information on Janet's login and I provided that information to her. She asked me to post here regarding our conversation and about her cellphone situation.
She said Beth was having a very rocky day today and has been sleeping a lot. She said Beth told her today she hurt from the top of her head to the tip of her toes. This obviously hasn't been a good day for Janet either. She said Darrel had returned to their home and when she called she was back at the Ronald McDonald house to do some things.
Regarding the cellphone situation, she told me that she has unlimited minutes on weekends and nights (don't know what time at night as don't know what company they use). She said she welcomes calls. I won't post her cellphone number here but if you need it send me a quick e-mail and I will e-mail it back to you.
Larry, thanks for the update from Janet. I hope she'll be able to get in here soon. Computers sure are strange machines. :(
What time zone is she in?
Jeanne, she is in the Central Time Zone so is one hour earlier than we are in the Eastern Time Zone.

Good Morning. I am all ready for church. Today I am a greeter at one of the doors, I have an image to install in the computer, and I am taking my camera to take a few photos. Busy day.
Last night was a much better night for me. I slept sooo good. But I am all ready feeling a nap coming on this afternoon. Seems to be a Sunday afternoon tradition for me.
I pray everyone has a God-filled day and that God's message fills your heart.(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)

Checking in for news on Janet & Beth -
Our daughter is coming for a visit today. We had another storm pass through with hail and the whole deal yesterday afternoon. Because of the heavy moisture, they are two months behind in getting electricity to our place in the mountains and we can't even get in on the road. This too shall pass. But it means water for the front range and many states.
Carol - it ocurs to me that the road in to your place may be a problem in the future?
Busy day so I prepared a new week for us to post upon! Where???
Right here (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=8615.msg134983#msg134983)!!
