Morning Devotional...

But as for me, my feet were almost gone. Until I went into the sanctuary of God.
Psalm 73:2; Psalm 73:17

The Psalmist had lost his focus on the Lord.

He looked around him and saw what appeared to be the prosperity and presumption of the ungodly and it discouraged him. In verse 17 he is brought back into the presence of the Lord and his eyes are truly opened. He began to understand about the ungodly; their present condition and their end (v. 18). He began to understand something of his own heart's foolishness.

Most importantly he learned that God is always with him (v. 23) and that He is the strength of his heart (v. 26).

Feeling a little down? Make an appointment in the sanctuary!

Take Time to Be Holy (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/TakeTime.mid)
(Click to hear music)

Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy:
for I am the LORD your God.
Leviticus 20:7

Author:  William D. Longstaff, 1822-1894
Musician:  George C. Stebbins, 1846-1945

Take time to be holy,
Speak oft with thy Lord;
Abide in Him always,
And feed on His Word.
Make friends of God's children;
Help those who are weak;
Forgetting in nothing
His blessing to seek.

Take time to be holy,
The world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret
With Jesus alone;
By looking to Jesus,
Like Him thou shalt be;
Thy friends in thy conduct
His likeness shall see.

Take time to be holy,
Let Him be thy Guide,
And run not before Him,
Whatever betide;
In joy or in sorrow,
Still follow thy Lord,
And, looking to Jesus,
Still trust in His Word.

Take time to be holy,
Be calm in thy soul;
Each thought and each motive
Beneath His control;
Thus led by His Spirit
To fountains of love,
Thou soon shalt be fitted
For service above.

Good morning.  Looks like it is going to be a sunny day in Indiana.  The sun is just coming over the horizon.

Rehab is early today but no speech rehab.  We will be going out for breakfast as soon as Ivalou is done with physical therapy.

Barb and Kaye Don got in around 4pm.  I haven't seen them yet but Barb called to say they were home.  Ivalou came over for supper last evening to help be eat the casserole I made.  She was doing great.  Before supper Inky and I had a nice little nap.

Pat:  You drove all day and still had time to put up the week's devotions.  Atta girl!  The lesson is so remarkable because it is something that speaks to a daily renewal of faith.  Thank you for this lesson.

Gord:  Hello - I have not forgotten you and your family.

Marilyn:  Hard to believe that you felt "bored" for even one day.  I gave up learning the artistic computer lessons and instead am concentrating on my sewing and soon again my not so good knitting.

Etta Sue:  Nice of you to care for your sis - she seems to be getting stronger so it must have been lack of sleep and food for energy.  Are you enjoying flowering trees and shrubs?  Not here yet.

Larry:  Lingonberries are small, red berries with a tart taste.  They are from Sweden.  Great on pancakes and about anything with a little sugar added.

Our desktop computer is kaput and we talked about having the laptop only and see how it goes but this laptop is getting old too -  :-\

A cousin's daughter wants to come and visit all our family.  She works with horses, literally.  I know that she had the clock set for 3 AM for the birth of a new foal this morning.  Her dad is a vet and she has lived amongst the horses since a babe.  She is about the same age as some of our children so they will think of things and take her around too.  We have other friends coming to visit in the next few weeks too.  This is the time of the year.

Good morning!  Whew!  I just got here in time to say that - only 1/2 hour of the morning left.   ;D

Carol, it looks as though you're going to be busy, busy, busy with all the company coming.   ;)

Hi everyone.  Have had a very busy morning and will leave to go to my men's Monday luncheon in a few minutes.  After coffee at McDonald's this morning I went walking at the gym with a friend.  Came home and in a little bit another friend was hear as we are working on something together.  He just left so wanted to pop in to say good morning.

Pat, thanks for the devotional for this week and thanks to whoever put it up for us to read as know you are in Virginia without Internet access.

Etta Sue, sure glad to read that what Ivalou experienced was not serious and perhaps she will be mindful not to take a lot of medicine without something to eat.

Carol, I am sure you all enjoy the company that you have and you and Don must be wonderful hosts.  However, I also know that it can be really taxing on the hosts.  If you are like us we are always happy to see our company come and usually just as happy when the leave and we can revert to our daily routines and way of life.  Thanks for the information on the berries.  They do sound good.

Jim, welcome to CP and it is nice to see you posting.  We get to know each other very quickly and are always happy to have new people join in with us.  Some of us have known each other for quite a few years now just by our postings on this site and one that existed before it called SeniorNet.

Well, I hope we get our car back today - been without it for a couple of days.  I'm not at all used to that!  I'm used to hopping in it and going where I want when I want.  We've had wonderful help, though, from one of our church members who is closer than a sister to us.  Bless the Lord for her!  The people of the Lord are family, but this one is better than the best!

Al, I know what you mean about missing your car.  Mine was in the shop for two weeks, a couple years (6!) back and living where there's no public transportation at all, it meant I had to depend on someone else.

Morning all.  John left today and will be gone till Saturday.  I have a day off, giving me time to get back at some knitting I had laid aside.

It is chilly today, fire going but not warming enough,  Guess its time for a heavier sweater.

Kass has an intense job to do on an ops order that is due.  So she will be monopolizing the computer tonight.  She needs to get on top of this and get her assignments done earlier.  That will come.

'Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.'  Proverbs 4:23

Bye for now.

Grrrr!  Computer problems.  I think I got a virus from clicking on links on the web.  At least that is what a lady in India said.  I have Iyogi Support and I call a 1-800 number and it get someone in India.  I then allow them access to my computer.  I was on the phone with Pryia 3 and a half hours yesterday.  One thing she deleted all my cookies and I had a hard time getting on here and Sr & Friends.  Anyway last night we ended with her restoring my computer back to March 24.  She said that would take care of it.  NOT!  This morning was just as bad.  Today I have uninstalled my Anti-virus and reinstalled it with the disc.  I am still updating everything on it and Windows.  Weird how sometimes I can't even open up my Control Panel or access Windows Mail.  I am thinking I am in deeper than I can take care of it myself.  I did run my anti-virus this morning and found a Trojan virus.  Everything else checks out A-okay but still having problems.  I sure wish I had a teenage grandson to help me!!

From the driveway down the road...

Hi everyone!

This is the first that I could get a connection down here.  We're about 1/3 mile from Paul's driveway and a teenager is in the house with some really loud rock and roll playing and I'm in the car reading your lovely posts!  What a mixture!  :)

Paul is having a running sort of "battle" with comcast to get the cable the rest of the way and so we'd appreciate your prayer with regard to this.

The weather is lovely down here.  The Eastern Redbud is in full bloom and the other blooming trees are just gorgeous.

So, we'll get back to you asap...

God bless you all.

Pat, for sure I'll be praying you get the cable connection.  You'd think they'd be glad for extra paying customers!

How about some pictures of those blossoming trees - by Paul if your shoulder isn't up to it?

Don is taking a little nap as we go out tonight to a high school concert - you can't imagine the noise & then we do get to hear fantastic music.

I am going to bible study in the morning after missing over six weeks being away.  My neighbor will be helping in that library so she will drive separately.  I really need to hear the message because all around there have been such "down news" with neighbors children losing jobs, being told their jobs may be in jeopardy and so forth.  What bleak future that is being painted right now.

Pat:  Smiling at your description of being down the road to get wi-fi.  It is so necessary for you to have that Comcast hook-up - prayer for that situation.   Love the redbud trees, we had them in Texas.

Jeanne:  At least my cousin's daughter won't be bringing her horses  ;D  They do travel all over the country pulling six Quarter horses in the back & she does it alone.

JudyB:  What are you knitting?  I might start that again at night when sewing isn't that easy. Like your psalm quote.

Al:  We sure get used to conveniences - a car for instance. The day of turning in the keys to the children will be a terrible time for me - my relatives drive until mid-90's.  Stay out of Minnesota!   Not kidding - they should make a movie by just pointing a camera in front as you drive.

Etta Sue, Marilyn, Janet and everyone - take care.

Spent most of my day in the basement sewing and listening to a book on tape.  The radio doesn't work too well there so I often pick up CD's at the library.  The church library has some CD's as well but everything was checked out last time.  My room is sunny with a southern window and is painted a creamy almost golden yellow that is a friendly color.

Hi everyone.  I totally forgot to check in here yesterday.  It was a really busy day as went to coffee, walked a mile at the gym, attended a meeting and then we left to come to the Georgia Baptist Conference Center so that Pat can attend a sewing event until noon on Friday.  The event has classes, rooms setup where each lady can set up her machine and equipment and leave it set up where they may be taking a class.  Pat even brought a steno chair that is adjustable. They are free to sew as much or as little as they desire.

Last evening a quilt designer and her husband, who has created the "Angler" tool for quilting and also helps her design quilts held a truck show.  I didn't pay the fee for the quilting part of the week, just the lodging and meals, so stayed in a corner and worked on my comptuer (or rather played as I watched a Netflix program and did a crossword puzzle and then some jigsaw puzzles.  Carol, I thought of you in that know you probably enjoy this type of quilting event.

There is no television here at the retreat center so it is nice and quiet and I plan on doing some reading after I finish with the computer this morning.  It was rainy yesterday but today is beautiful and while it is cool this morning it should warm up this afternoon.  I did bring my camera if I can remember to take some pictures.

I have a new step-granddaughter.  Charlene has twin daughters.  Audrey had Makena December 20th, 9lb. 7oz. and 21 inches long.  April 20th her twin sister, Carol, had Claire Elizabeth Davis, 9lb. 7oz. and 21 inches long.  What a coincidence!!  I have received a picture of little Claire and she is beautiful.

Laptop is going to a shop today sometime between DDS or rehab or after rehab.  It has more problems than I want to deal with.

With that being said, I am on the desktop which is soooo slow!  But much better than nothing in order to stay in touch with my cyber friends.

Hopefully I can get the laptop repaired quick and reasonable.

Good to hear from Pat while she is in Virginia even if it is in her car with teenage music blasting in the background!  Like I said above...better than nothing in order to stay in touch with your cyber friends.

We're supposed to get into the mid-60's today and the trees are starting to perk up nicely.  Summer can't get here too soon for me.   :)

Good Morning We had quite a scare yesterday but I didn't  find out about it until I read about it on Facebook last night and called Gilbert. Sarah's sister Erin's 14 yr old son who lives with his father in a remote area  around Klamath Falls/Chiloquin area of Oregon was missing for 23 hours. They found him walking around in the forest. Sarah, Erin and their mom came to Oregon to help look for him but he had already been found be the time they arrived. When I spoke to Gilbert last night Cody was in the hospital being checked for exposure.

He told his grandmother he was running away. His Father and  step mother are ultra strict Seventh Day Adventists Cody has been home schooled since  his father got custody  almost 4 years ago and has  only been allowed to have friends from church that are much younger than he is. He has not been allowed any contact with this side of the family except for one phone call 3 years ago this past Christmas.

He got to come for Thanksgiving that same year and was so self conscious of what he could eat. He had to do a bull body cleanse when  he got back home to is father's house. It is a long sad story of his life. Just pray for Cody Please!!!

Praying Marilyn.

I had an interesting evening with Kass last night She had to type out an ops order for cadets.  It was frustrating to her, but she finally got it done.  She is pretty discouraged with the politics that she is now facing.  It seems to be hidden from the lower ranks but by the time they are in level 4 going into 5 they are faced with it.  It is sad, but she needs to learn to play the game, she will have to face it again as a level 5 cadet, as well as in other areas of life.

Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things. Phil.4:8 KJV

Have a good day everyone

Bible study was led by an Australian man who is a Rector at Christ Church in Jerusalem.  There are Arabs and Jews who come in and learn about Christianity - it is very near the Wailing Wall.  Built in 1849.  So many questions came from the audience.  They teach the Jewish roots of Christianity and God's purpose for the people of Israel.  Interesting indeed.

Don is having computer and phone problems so it is OK this minute but not dependable.

Larry:  Oh, just to be a mouse in the corner of anything so neat - I am glad that Pat was able to have such a fun day.

Rain and hail today.  A friend called and they are in the area but not staying with us and we will meet for breakfast in the morning.

Marilyn:  Thankful relatives for the boy who was lost and I hope someone looks at the parent & why he ran away.

Etta Sue:  Congrats to the new parents.  It seems like a lot of babies being born lately.  Enjoy the babes.

I have read all the posts, and have been praying for the individual needs.  Thankfully I had a brother in law who taught me to keep a prayer book of names!.  Thank you Jack.

This is one of those sleepless nights, where I am yawning but not at all sleepy.  Thought I would check in here then grab a book and take it to bed to read.  It may not put me to sleep but it will take up the wakefulness and keep my mind from stewing.

My dear little Cimi is wondering why I have come back down to the computer when we were tucked so nicely into bed, but as usual she is a constant loyal companion.

Well I have my book so I am off.

Good night all God bless.

HI everyone.  Another beautiful day here at the Baptist Conference Center.  I am sitting in the large common area and the only one in here as all the ladies are busy at their sewing machines working on quilts or other projects.  They seem to have had a lot of fun with a game night last night and a raffle with lots of prizes furnished by the quilt shops.  They earn tickets for various things such as winning the games.  The tickets are not sold so that is nice.  There were 65 raffle prizes.  Pat won last night that contained one and one half yards of fabric and a couple of other small things.

Pat had a rough day yesterday with her back.  She managed to stay with her class until it was over and then came back to the room to take muscle relaxers and try to get the pain to stop.  After dinner she went back to the room but did come down for the last hour of the fun and games last night.  Tonight there is another truck show where a known quilter shows some of her quilts.  There was another trunk show on the first evening.  Fortunately she is feeling much better this morning and is back working on her quilt.

I will spend my day as I did yesterday by working on the computer and reading and eating and resting.  I have some web work to do for the Golden Games to work up some results and some photos from some of the events.  The work is easy but a lot of detail so must focus.

Judy, unfortunately politics are found in most everything in adult life in some fashion so Kass can learn some valuable lessons.

Carol, the Bible study sounded very interesting.  Have you participated in quilting retreats?  This one has really been well planned and conducted.  Their are quilters set up in many rooms with only 4 or 5 quilters in a room.   There are only 5 in the room where Pat is so there is plenty of room to work.  She has her quilt laid out on a table and her equipment on another.

Marilyn, certainly glad they found the young man.  Life is so tough for so many young people.

Etta Sue, congrats on the new step-granddaugher.  Hope you get your laptop fixed.

I have probably mentioned this but the problem Etta Sue is having with her laptop makes me want to discuss this again.  A few days ago I downloaded a program called BounceBack Ultimate that creates a bootable copy of everything on the hard disk on another hard disk or an external hard drive.  If the main hard disk gets messed up or fails your system is still usuable from the external hard disk and you can continue to use your files and programs until you can get a new hard disk.  I used this for Pat's computer a few days ago and it worked beautifully.  The program cost me $69 but they offer a 3-day free trial period.  I started using it but liked the program so much I went ahead and purchased it and then yesterday got an e-mail from them offering a $10 discount on buying it.  Since I had already purchased it I am sure they won't honor the $10 discount although I may write to them and see if they will refund the $10.  Will just take a few moments of my time and they might say yes.

Larry, my Verbatim external HD came with BounceBack Express software included.  I use it to back up all my files at least once a week and if it's been 7 days since the last backup it reminds me.  A very handy application.

Busy today.  I did my usual early morning things and then went to church.  What they wanted was for me to put Broderbund Clickart on the computer in the sanctuary.  I did but when I opened it, you need the internet to retrieve and see the clickart.  Now the secretary is going to see if she can get what they want on her computer with internet, save it on a flash drive and put it on the computer in the sanctuary.

Then I went to Walmart and got my new eyes.  I am glad I had some shopping to do.  I have progressive lens and for me to see at a distance I almost had to have my chin on my chest to see out of the top of the lens.  So I had them readjust the nose pads and now they are fine.

I ate lunch at White Castle!  Ivalou nor Kitty likes White Castles so sometimes I give myself a treat when I am by myself.

When I got home I decided to mow since it is suppose to rain tomorrow.  When I came in the house I had a voice mail on my cell phone.  I called them back...it was PC Help about my laptop.  Well, the staff was in a meeting and they are to call me back.  So here I am waiting with a sweaty body!!   ::)  If they don't call back soon, I am calling them back!

Marilyn ~ The Seventh Day Adventist must be stricter out there than they are here.  I worked with a man that was Seventh Day Adventist and the only noticeably difference I saw was he ate fake meat and never worked on Saturday.  But I am so glad they found the 14 year old boy.

Larry ~ You have to purchase the external hard drive, right?  That kind of stuff, I know nothing about!

Still waiting on the call....

Etta Sue I was thinking the same thing about the Seventh Day Adventists.  Here in North Bay they work with the community and with the other churches.  Not ostracizing they seemed to do with that young lad.

We are in for some lovely weather here.  The grass is growing, soon will be mowing...YAY.

Larry you are right, the politics is in every facet of life.  She can learn the lessons, if she will.  The key here is the will, there is no way to force this.  Fortunately God gave us free will, now to try to mold that.

Well must go get chores done.

Etta  Sue and Judy there are fanatics in every religion and denomination. These people are not the average SDA. My foster sons  and their biologic families were SDA. The were not like these people.  This man and his wife are "out there" fanatics. I think that is why they moved to a remote area here in Oregon.

Most SDA that I know are just like the rest of us except they are vegetarians and believe that Saturday is the sabbath so they go to church on Saturday. Those are the only difference that I have observed in my friends.

They don't force you to be a vegetarian, it is your choice but the do highly recommend it.

Here's a hymn I just think we (I) need just now.

Praise the Saviour, Ye Who Know Him (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/acclaim.mid)
(Click to hear music)

We thank Thee,
and praise Thy glorious Name.
1 Chronicles 29:13

Words: Thomas Kelly
Music: Acclaim, traditional German melody

Praise the Savior, ye who know Him!
Who can tell how much we owe Him?
Gladly let us render to Him
All we are and have.

Jesus is the Name that charms us,
He for conflict fits and arms us;
Nothing moves and nothing harms us
While we trust in Him.

Trust in Him, ye saints, forever,
He is faithful, changing never;
Neither force nor guile can sever
Those He loves from Him.

Keep us, Lord, O keep us cleaving
To Thyself, and still believing,
Till the hour of receiving
Promised joys with Thee.

Then we shall be where we would be,
Then we shall be what we should be,
Things that are not now, nor could be,
Soon shall be our own.

What comfort, too, in these words:  "Nothing moves and nothing harms us

A beautiful hymn, Al.  Thanks!

Marilyn ~ I agree there are fanatics in every religion or maybe we should say 'beliefs'.  I am glad that your view on SDA are the same as mine and Judy's.  I had an aunt that lived in Wichita.  She came here to visit and Mom asked her what she could eat since she was SDA.  Aunt Blanche said, 'Honey, I am in your home and I don't want to put you out by you preparing food just for me so I will eat whatever you put on the table.'  She LOVED Mom's fresh green beans seasoned with bacon grease.  Mom felt that she would see the bacon so she just put grease in them!  I was little when that happened.

The laptop is still in the shop...but before I leave Noblesville today I am going to call to see if it is ready to be picked up.  I go to the urologist today...the one that put in the Interstim Therapy.  It isn't helping nor the RX, but I am afraid to turn off the Interstim Therapy or not take the pills.  Bathrooms are small to live in!  I do need a new RX today though.

Good Morning all,  Good morning Ruth!

I rested better last night.

I found this history interesting.

The Holy Club

Charles Wesley and two friends began a small Christian group at Oxford University in 1728. John Wesley, who had already graduated from Oxford, returned the following year as a tutor and assumed its leadership. Oxford students made fun of the group, referring to it as the "Holy Club" or "Methodists."

The focus of the Holy Club was on religious self-discipline. Exhorting each other to live piously and do good works, they were motivated by the belief that they were working for the salvation of their souls.

George Whitefield was the first Holy Club member to question their practices. His solution, however, was to try to become a new creation through further extremes of self-denial. During Lent in 1735 he only ate a little coarse bread with tea. By Holy Week he was so weak that he could not study or even walk up a flight of stairs. After hitting bottom, he later wrote, "God was pleased to remove the heavy load, to enable me to lay hold of his dear Son by a living faith..."

On May 5, 1735, Whitefield wrote a letter to John Wesley, attempting to share what had happened to him. It would be three more years before the Wesleys found His gracious arms.

Reflection

Have you ever found yourself trying to earn your salvation? Salvation is a gift to be received from God, and there is nothing we can do to earn it. Good works do not lead us to Christ—it is out of our relationship with Christ that good works flow.

God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT

Hi to all,

I just stopped by to see what's what.

We live next door to the SDA church and they are really nice.  They watch over our house when we are not home. When my husband was ill, they were right there to help with anything, yard work, etc.

In fact, they honored us at a community service day and presented us with a nice plague for good humanitarians , even though we do not follow their religion, they made us feel comfortable.
We didn't stay for luncheon, so I don't know what food was served, but I do know they also bring food in every Saturday (that's their sabbath day)...The rest of the week, the place is empty except for workers around the church and yard..And Wednesday evening, prayer service...

But, we still get people looking at our house(still up for sale) and they say they won't buy  next to a church.

That's why I just gave the sale of my house "over to the Lord"..Trusting in HIM...

I heard a really good message that I shared in Manna for the Soul- really felt the message about time management that I desparately neede to hear.
Have a good week end.

Hi everyone.  We got back from the North Georgia Mountains about noon today.  There was only a brief closing session and the ladies could stay and sew until noon is they wanted.  However, Pat was ready to come home and had packed up her things yesterday afternoon and we loaded them in the car last night after the evening events.

I am taking it easy this afternoon as haven't felt very well since picking up Pat's sewing machine and putting it in the car.  It isn't all that heavy but it brought on arm pain and all my energy just left me.  It was an effort to just walk a few steps.  Slept well but still was very tired this morning.  I feel uncomfortable in having to have Pat unload the car, especially the sewing machine and her suitcase full of sewing notions (that weighs a ton).  But we do what we have to do.

Jeanne, can you actually reboot and run your computer from the Bounce Back program?  Etta Sue, there is nothing much simpler than an external hard drive.  It just plugs into your USB port and is recognized as another hard drive.  You just don't have to place it inside the computer.

We have some friends who are SDA's and they are delightful people.  We usually go out to eat when they they visit us and try to be sure there are items on the menu that will honor their beliefs.  However, they are not fanatic about it either but just prefer not to eat the meat.  We have had some very enjoyable discussions about our Christian beliefs.

Joyce, I should think having a church next door would be an asset not a liability.

Larry, no I can't reboot.  My BounceBack is the "Express" or free version that came with the hard drive.  But it's great for backing up everything else.  Lots of photos and graphics, and all the extra plugins and filters that go with the graphic programs - would be a real nightmare, if not impossible, to replace them.

I got the laptop back now.  I picked up a pamphlet about Back Up.  The lady at the desk even said if you have two computers...desktop and laptop...the other computer could be your 'back up'.  Just copy from one to the other on a flash drive or re-writable CD/DVD.  Or put them on DVD.  Or external hard drive.  Or even flash drives since they don't cost all that much.  Will have to do that!  She said that nothing will copy like software programs that you have installed so essentially it is Documents, Pictures, Videos and Music.  I am like Jeanne...I have a lot of PSP files in My Documents that might be impossible to find and replace.

Anyway....it's baaaaa aaaack!!

I found this on my DIL's Facebook page about Cody.

Quote"THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR POSITIVE THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!!! Happy that he's found because he would've froze to death last night. It snowed ALL NIGHT! Glad I brought chains. Didn't get to see him because his biological father was being very cruel. We found the compound they're living on, but some other guy came out with an assault rifle."

It sure sounds like they are some kind of a cult.

We got up at 5:30 AM to drive north of Denver and have breakfast with granddaughter at her school.  We left just before the special time where they talk about donations - a private school and we can't help much.  Going up the freeway, heavy rain/snow and when we left it began snowing hard and over a foot so it was stop & go, other vehicles sliding and the usual of tailgaters and so forth.  Exhausting but we made it safely home.  More snow & rain now.  A new quarterback for the Broncos came to town & he was hours late too.

Spent the afternoon sewing & using the machine to embroider a Christmas table runner.  Things went better today.  Larry:  those sewing machines are really tough to handle and get worse as we age.  Worse is when steps are involved.  That is why I am trying to learn to knit.  Yes, I have been on quilt retreats and a motel puts us in a huge room with dozens of tables, ironing boards & irons and another room for meals.  It is great and we usually set off the smoke alarms once or twice a day.  Miss those trips but now I am in two groups here.

Carol and Larry.  You can get bags on wheels that help you carry the machines.  They just roll along.  Larry sounds like you need to get someone to help with lifting.  You don't need to ge through this all the time.

I am finished ironing.  Now that is a job I really don't like.  Kassie had youth tonight, si was gone pretty well all evening.  Anyone know of a teenager who WANTS to go to bed before 9???  That is Kassie.

John is in Guelph tonight.  He will be heading home tomorrow.  Not enough hours in his log book to make the trip tonight.

I am heading to bed early.  Done all I am going to do for now.  Night all and God bless.

Larry: Sorry about that arm. I'm with Judy's suggestion of the bags on wheels. Save yourself some discomfort.
Judy:  I also agree about the ironing, but hate to leave it all for my wife so I pitch in some. Thank goodness   for perma-press.  I had better turn in now, the boomers have diminished and the rain will make for nice sleep. Good night all.

Those wheeled luggage things are great.  But...  you still have to get the heavy stuff into or out of the car.  :(

Etta Sue, I'm glad you got your laptop back and that you've decided to do the backup.  I'm trying to find the extra $$ to get my desktop tower looked into so that I don't need to depend entirely on the laptop.  But it seems as though every month there is one extra big expense.  Oh well, when & if the Lord decides it should get done, it will.   ;)

It looks as though today will be a beautiful spring day - sunshine, only a light breeze and temperature right around the "normal" 60 F.

Judy ~ I didn't quite understand all of your post.  I just would like to know what is ironing?   :roflBig:

My laptop is working perfectly!  They did a great job.  They removed my anti-virus and installed AVG.  My Avanquest Fix-it didn't catch the virus' but when they installed AVG, the virus' were found and deleted.  I also have Iyogi Support that was to be renewed May 5th for another year.  I called them and canceled the renewal.  They asked me why.  Well, 3½ hours on the phone didn't fix my laptop and I had to spend too much $$ to get it fixed so I canceled the Iyogi Support.

This PC Help place says that if I have questions about the laptop to call and they might be able to help me over the phone!  How nice is that?

Rainy and gloomy today.  The farmers need this gentle rain though.  It looks so nice out with newly plowed, disced and planted fields.  I looove spring time!

We had a helicopter flying over the house last night, low to the ground and seeming to be looking for something.  We didn't go out to see, it was dark and that it was there at night was surprising.

I am folding laundry, and would like to get it done before John gets here.  Had a call that Megan was in hospital for a check up.  The baby hadn't been moving so she was a little panicky.  They did a stress test, and an ultrasound and all is good.  Technically she is due in a week.

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Ring the Bells of Heaven  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/ring-the-bells-of-heaven.mid)
(Click to hear music)

"There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth." Luke 15:10

Words: William O. Cushing, 1866.
Music: George F. Root, Chapel Gems for Sunday School (Chicago, Illinois: Root & Cady, 1866)

Cushing wrote about these words:

The melody ran in my head all day long, chiming and flowing in its sweet musical cadence. I wished greatly that I might secure the tune for use in the Sunday School and for other Christian purposes. When I heard the bells of heaven ringing of some sinner that had returned, it seemed like a glad day. Then the words, "Ring the bells of heaven" at once flowed down into the waiting melody.

Ring the bells of heaven! There is joy today,
For a soul, returning from the wild!
See, the Father meets him out upon the way,
Welcoming His weary, wandering child.

Refrain

Glory! Glory! How the angels sing:
Glory! Glory! How the loud harps ring!
'Tis the ransomed army, like a mighty sea,
Pealing forth the anthem of the free.

Ring the bells of heaven! There is joy today,
For the wanderer now is reconciled;
Yes, a soul is rescued from his sinful way,
And is born anew a ransomed child.

Refrain

Ring the bells of heaven! Spread the feast today!
Angels, swell the glad triumphant strain!
Tell the joyful tidings, bear it far away!
For a precious soul is born again.

Refrain

Judy, if I remember correctly, the baby is often inactive for a while before birth.  So maybe it won't be long now.

I just spent a wonderful hour on the phone - yes an hour!  Today is my baby's birthday - she's 49 and that's just not possible!  But we had an absolutely delightful time just chatting about all sorts of things - memories and future plans and updating.  Now my cell phone is recharging.  ;)

Hi, y'all.  I've been reading but just not posting.

Jeanne, I love it when my daughter calls.  I have one who lives in town, and she calls every day, but my oldest daughter lives in Eugene, and her calls are special as I don't talk to her often.  We catch up and know we are both ok. :)   I see her on Facebook all the time, but nothing like a voice.

Etta Sue...I'm with you! What's ironing?  lol   I have most of my PSP files on my external drive. My external drive is larger than my hard drive, so I needed one.  Also put most of my documents on it too.

QuoteYou will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
Psalm 16:11 NLT

Love that verse, Judy.  I was reading Psalms today, both in NKJ and The Message.

Joyce, people don't want to live next door to a church?  I can see not wanting to live next door to a bar, but a church?  What are their fears?  Maybe the singing will be too loud?  Or the parking?  I think living next to a church would be a great place to live. I agree with Larry.

I am all ready to go out the door to church.  Today is a big day.   Church, Sunday School, a catered dinner and then a talent show in the sanctuary.  We all have been looking forward to this day of fellowship, food and talent.  Aaron, g-nephew just called and said he would see me tonight.  What?  He is going to the talent show but I don't think it is tonight, I think it is right after the dinner at noon.  So I told him I would call him as soon as I heard when it is to be.

Yesterday, as usual, I was on the laptop about all day.  I tried to get in a few things that a pop up said that the CoreVideo.dll was missing.  Even trying to see videos on my media player didn't show video.  Videos on my Sunday Plus, the program for church, wouldn't show videos.  So I searched for CoreVideo.dll and it seemed they talked about itunes a lot.  So I download itunes again and now my videos are great!  I love it when I out smart my computers!

We had rain in the night and looks like rain possibly today.  Kind of cool.  Only 58° right now.

Little Baby Claire had to go back to the hospital.  She was jaundice.  She is back home now.  I have two videos of the little cutie.  She's a porker!  One Daddy was feeding her and her little legs and arms were really moving!

Hi everyone.  We went through a very stormy day yesterday with dire warning.  However, happy to report that most of that missed up as it was to the west and north of our immediate area.  We did get lots of rain but no strong winds.  We heard a little hail but it didn't last very long.  There were a lot of tornados from this storm.

Regarding the cart with wheels--we do have a little wheeled carrier that the portable machine sits on and we don't have to carry it.  However, it does have to be lifted to behind the seat in the car and then when you arrive to the table where it will be used.  It is an uncomfortable feeling having to have your wife do the heavy lifting but I had to resort to that.  My wife even has a portable Bernina so doesn't take her heavy machine.  Carol, do you have a Singer Featherweight machine?  Two of the ladies in the room where Pat sewed had them and they didn't look very heavy.

I am ready for church.  Hope I can sing the anthem today as had to miss choir practice on Wednesday night.  Unfortunately, I will also miss the next two Wednesday nights.  I am glad I can read music and we always practice the piece before the services start on Sunday so will do my best.

Etta Sue, don't you have a network now in your house between your desktop and laptop?  If you you can copy files directly from one computer to the other.  I also use a program called Live Mesh that provides 5 gigs of storage and these files can be accessed from any computer.  There is also a program called Dropbox that will sync between computers.

Marilyn, that is scary regarding the situation that Cody is in.

Hope all have a good Sunday.

Larry: yes it is a scary situation, I spoke to Sarah yesterday and she tells me that  she, her sister ( the mother) and their mother notified the sheriff there but no one has had a return call yet from the sheriff's dept. All we can do now is to pray and I am sure there are a lot of prayers being said in Cody's behalf.

As for copying things from one computer to the other, I have used my external drive to install PSP on my net book and  all my documents, photos PSP tubes etc is also on my external drive, some I have also installed on the Netbook which has 120 gigs so does the external drive. When I still had One Care all my files were backed up to  the external drive as well.

I am going to be taking some lessons in Photoshop CS3, I will install that on the Ex drive  with an icon on the desk top.

This week's promise: God delights in those who honor him
What we owe God

The strength of a horse does not impress him; how puny in his sight is the strength of man. Rather, the Lord's delight is in those who honor him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.

Psalm 147:10-11 NLT

God being who and what He is, and we being who and what we are, the only thinkable relation between us is one of full lordship on His part and complete submission on ours. We owe him every honor that it is in our power to give Him.
