Morning Devotional...But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him. --Habakkuk 2:20
I think we are the busiest bunch of eager beavers ever seen in the religious world. The idea seems to be that if we are not running in a circle, breathing down the back of our own neck, we are not pleasing God!
When Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15 KJV), Peter probably leaped to his feet and, no doubt, scooped up his hat on the way out. He was going to go right then!
But the Lord said, "Peter, come back, and 'stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high' (Luke 24:49)."
I heard a Christian leader warn recently that we are suffering from a rash of amateurism in Christian circles. Christianity has leveled down and down and down. We are as light as butterflies-- though we flit, flit, flit around in the sunshine and imagine that we are eagles flapping our broad wings.
Sometimes I think the Church would be better off if we would call a moratorium on activity for about six weeks and just wait on God to see what He is waiting to do for us. That's what they did before Pentecost.
Dr. Tozer in The Counselor, 95."Lord, this morning I'll stop for a while at least to 'just wait on God.' I know You're wanting to work, and I for one am willing to wait this morning to hear Your voice and discover what You want to do for me today. Amen."
Just a reminder...
I would like everyone to please go to our Prayer Request area and read about Gord Brown.

Pat, the devotional is so precious. Thank you.
Thank you for that devotional, Pat. It's far, far better to be moved from within by the Holy Spirit and by awe and reverence than from without by flesh and sweat. Oh God, move me by Your Spirit, and move me first to love and worship You in all things and at all times.
Thanks for that, Pat. It is exactly what's been on my mind lately as I rush about doing this, that and the other---all good things, but I'm asking myself, "What eternal value is there in what I'm doing?" So, you have added to my food for thought. My favorite pastor used to tell us a lot, "You need to THINK ABOUT what you're THINKING ABOUT!" So true.
But, having said that, there are things to do and I'm ready to get with it. I am being ruthless in the cleaning out of stuff. Yesterday I made one pass through my closet, got three garbage bags of clothes out to give away. And there is more to go. I think we will be in the garage again today. s soon as the 700 Club is over, I'm ready to start!
We lost another good man when Charlton Heston died, IMO, of course.
Janet, this de-cluttering is just a horrible job!
My garage is so crammed full. I will tackle it after the wedding. I'll get a dumpster or something and put stuff in it.
I need to do a lot of donating from my closet and drawers too. I just seem to get more and I don't know where it comes from.
Good service yesterday morning The sermon was on "Am I making Progress?" The points were The destination (Heaven), The Route (to get there) and The Roadblocks. To reach the Destination there were 14 things to do. Grow in faith, Grow in grace and knowledge, grown in love toward each other, the fruits of the Spirit, the BE- attitudes, read the Bible, Pray, tithe, give, witness, memorize and meditate, fasting, repent.
The Roadblocks are rebellion, pride, Bitterness, unconfessed sin.

Pat ~ Garage cleaning should NOT be on your agenda for your honeymoon! ;) But, then, you will have help in cleaning the garage with Paul around.
I know I am a descendant of my Mother who was raised during the depression. I have a tendency to not through good things away. I look through my closet and drawers and think, 'I will use this for working outside'. I am sure getting a lot of 'working outside' clothes...and this is for one who doesn't do a lot of work outside other than using the riding lawn mower!!
It sure is springlike in Indiana today. Suppose to get to 69°F....warmest day of 2008 so far! It is bright and sunny. I think after lunch I will put out my bistro table umbrella, get a book and read for awhile in the shade....AFTER listening to God's creatures chirping and singing. ~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@ (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2FMyhst.gif&hash=c2ef5bd725a42718d2ab28e936b13782af4f7bb7)
That sounds like you had a good sermon, Marilyn.
Etta Sue, we'll be doing the same thing in his home in Falls Church, VA--getting it ready to sell. So guess we can do it here too!

Yes! Al I am in complete agreement! I read the devotional last night, but didn't comment. It is really good -- and so true!
All y'all talking about cleaning and decluttering .... :-\ I've really been trying to do that for a while but, instead of getting less mess it looks like it's just growing! :-[
My neighbor introduced me to a new "mini-mall" in town that sells on consignment. She has a spot there and is sharing it with me. We'll see if any of this stuff is worth something to someone -- somewhere -- sometime. :-\
Heading for the UPS store in a minute. I have a package to mail for my daughter's birthday on Friday. Yup, this is my "baby" and she'll be 47! ::) Time sure does seem to pass quickly all of a sudden!
Hi Pat! You came in while I was rambling ... Hope this is a good day for you and yours. I'm praying for Gord Brown today.
Hi everyone. It has been a busy day for me so far but think the running is over for today. After coffee I stopped by the gym and walked 14 laps with my friends and then I went to see my good friend who has liver cancer. He appears to be weaker and my visit was very brief as know talking can be very tiring when you are already weak. His son suggested that afternoon visits would work out better and we will certainly do that in the future.
Ruth Ann, I am thoroughly convinced, based on my own experience with a parent having dementia, that there is a time when a care facility is better for the person and the caregivers. It is truly an exhausting experience to deal with this on a 24 hour basis.
Pat, it has been probably 25 years since I played the organ or piano in church. In our little home church I was often the organist and then in some smaller churches over the years. The last time was in the early 80's when we were charter members of a church and the regular organist had to be gone. I very seldom play the piano anymore and know I should.
I look forward to the men's finals for the basketball season tonight and it is my prediciton that Memphis will probably beat Kansas. Just hope it is a competitive game.
I came home for about an hour and made the mistake of pulling about a dozen weeds from my yard and was really exhausted. Don't think I will do that again as it just isn't worth feeling that way for so little accomplished.
I then met two friends for lunch at Ted Turner's Montana Grill and had chili made with bison and a nice house salad. He places high value on his meals but the food was good. A regular hamburger is about $9 and up depending what is added to it.
Pat, I liked your devotional and our pastor spoke about the exact same thing in his sermon yesterday. We had a unique experience in that we shared our worship with the congregation of the Church of South India that has been meeting in our old santuary (now youth center) at the same time we have our traditional service. We shared communion and their pastor participated in the service.
Well, I am going to try, for the 3rd time, to post. Keep getting interupted.
Thank you for a real nice devotional, Pat. I agree with Al:
QuoteIt's far, far better to be moved from within by the Holy Spirit and by awe and reverence than from without by flesh and sweat.
When the Holy Spirit lives quietly inside us, it seems as if a sort of built in radar keeps one on the right path.
The painters have finished my suite and most of upstairs. Gone for a week until other things are done, plumbing, hardwood, etc. Still lots of painting left...The real painter is good. His daugher and helper are terrible. Damaged my expensive screen/glass door, broke the light fixture in the bathroom....She would be painting and talking on her cell phone at the same time...taking off to go home, etc. The poor Dad is stressed beyond..... ::)
At the moment, bathroom tub upstairs is being removed and a new shower unit installed. This will be a big help as Wendy has much trouble getting in and out of the tub to shower. It is one of those step-in units. The floor people are tearing out carpet in prep. of installing the hardwood. Ah, Noise. Squeek in here on my bed, sleeping by the computer.
Talk about garages...this one is so full we can hardly walk anywhere. Most of it will be sold at a garage sale, when the area has their big Spring Sale, or we will have our own. It is all quality stuff and what is left will go to the Sally Ann. So weeks of work sorting and preparing for that.... ::)
I am going to Victoria to hide out for the day, tomorrow. Need to get a new shower rod, and other small things. Plan to have a nice relaxing time and walk by the seawall, if weather permits.
Yes, Janet, it will be worth all of this when done. Means only painting will need re-doing in about 10 yrs., when they will most likely sell. All depends on Wendy's health...This home will retain it's considerable value and be attractive on the market. The 'kids' are in their fifties now and one has to be prepared for whatever lies ahead.
Time to go and do some more work. I have prayed for Gord. and will go and vote again. Thanks, Etta Sue, for that update about Opra. I am not a fan of her's and nothing much shocks anymore.
Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.
Liz
Hi, everyone; It's raining today. :rain: :rain: :rain: I was hoping to take some pics today. :(
Oh well, maybe It'll be sunny later this week. :)
The plants are just starting to turn green. :rose: Which is good, because I'm tired of photographing dead plants and trees! :banghead:
WAHHH!!! I lost my whole long post! :ticked:
So I watched the last of the Championship game, and Kansas came from 9 behind to win by 7 in overtime!! Go, Jayhawks!!
Pat, I was thinking of you today and wondering if your garage was still full (you had told me earlier that it was). Yes, it's a huge job! Today, we hauled another pickup load to the pit, a load to the senior center, and have another load started to go to the center. We got maybe 1/4 of the floor cleared out, mopped twice and painted. The garage is 100 X 35 feet, so it's a huge area to do, but we are making great progress. And I do NOT think we will be collecting nearly so much stuff from now on!
Etta Sue, I have always had a really hard time getting rid of "good" stuff, too. But FLYLady says, "If you don't love it, if it doesn't make you smile, get rid of it!" So out it goes! I find it much easier to just give it away than to have garage sales, which I dislike--a lot. It's going to look so nice in the garage by the time we finish. But boy, that's hard work. We are both so tired this evening we can barely move. So we are going to do this now---
See you another day. Tomorrow I have an eye appointment, a chiropractor appointment and work in the afternoon. Full day.
Good morning, friends,
I really appreciate the devotional for this week. It seems like with the upcoming retirement, etc., maybe God is whispering in my ear, "Be still and know that I am God."
This morning's the pre-op visit for that little thumb surgery next Tuesday. Hopefully it will be very simple and the recovery quick and relatively painless.
It's great when y'all report your pastor's sermon topics. Often I think for days on what I read here.
Oooooh, I shudder to thinka bout the decluttering about to happen in THIS house!! :o
Much love to all - have a good day.
Hi everyone.
I have a few minutes before having to leave to attend a meeting. As usual my day started with coffee aa the cafe and then we went to the church and walked several laps and then I stopped and filled Pat's car with gas and went to Krogers. Now enjoying some quiet time at the computer before heading out again. Fortunately, I don't have anything on the schedule for this afternoon or evening.
Ruth Ann, sure hope your hand surgery goes very well and as you say isn't too painful.
Janet, you are in inspiration with all the de-cluttering. I have a storage shed out back of my house that needs a good cleaning out. Unfortunately, every time I consider doing that I decide it can wait. There are a lot of empty boxes from computers and printers, etc. that can be disposed of and I need to clean off a bunch of things from the shelving as don't even remember it is there. I shocked myself the other day when I was looking for something and discovered I had a bookcase out there that I once had in my office. It is one that breaks down into pieces. Our daughter has a bunch of stuff stored out there that has been there for years that needs to be gone through and greatly reduced in size.
Liz, I am sure it must be frustrating for the good painter to have to deal with the messes the poor painters leave behind. I hope they are going to replace/repair what they broke or damaged.
I will be looking for word that Gord has gotten to come home from his procedure. Generally a ballooning does not take long to recover from particuraly if there has not been a heart attack.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Morning all!
Just thinking about the devotional. It is so very hard to "just wait" in this day and age. We often associate waiting with idleness. Instead it is being proactive.
This has been a busy week. John is leaving today, tuesday instead of Sunday evening, or Monday morning. Keep his regular dispatcher in prayer, sounds like he is dealing with cancer. As far as we know not a Christian.
We are finally for the most part snow free. There was not much to start with but the temperatures didn't climb too quickly and the snow was slow in melting. In the bush there is still snow, that takes time as the trees keep the area cool and sun free.
Well must go and get work done. God bless to all
JudyB
Hi Larry and Judy
Snow is leaving here too. Lots still in the shady areas but out where the sun hits, it's gone. Must go and rake up the winter debris soon. But I'm also getting ready for the trip south next week.
SEE THE WINNERS!!

I got another load of stuff taken to the center, after my first appointment, now getting ready to go for the second. Housekeeper is here, so at least the carpets will get vacuumed today, that will help.
I'm working this afternoon, so you all have a great day!
Larry, I think almost everybody has those areas that need de-cluttering. All except one sister of mine--she gets rid of stuff!! Quickly! She's the only one in my family who does, though.
Hope Gord and Noreen are having a good day today.
Hi Janet!
By the temperature "thingy" in your signature, it's chilly in Kansas!
I wish I could get rid of the stuff in my garage.

Janet ~ I am glad you mentioned Flylady. Kitty was talking about how disorganized she was and I told her there was a daily thing that is sent in email telling her what to do each day but couldn't remember what it was. FLYlady. Is there a website that Kitty could go to to get started?
I can't say I am disorganized. I try to put things in a place. My spare bedroom closet is the most disorganized. Well, the whole room is. When I don't know what to do with something that needs to stay dry and in a contant temperature, it goes in that bedroom/closet. My basement is wet when it rains and my garage is not insulated and sometimes wet also.
I need to get my deck bleached again. The northside gets yucky looking but so pretty and white after bleaching. Kills weeds underneath, too. Two birds with one stone. I can do the bleaching myself if I work slow...that is the problem...I want it done NOW!
Today Ivalou and I are going to Kokomo to see the photos at the Kokomo Art Association. She is gone right now to her high school class lunch that they have once a month. She should be back by 1pm. Hope I am ready by then....gotta run (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fexercising%2F5.gif&hash=89a5d1053b4e6af8f4bf9a31f5c851db7ff85626)

Hello, I hope you all have a good day. :D
I know I will. Even though it's still cloudy, I'm going to take some pictures.
How do you guys get the temperature thing on your posts?
Hi Scotty...
You go to http://www.wunderground.com/ Type in your city in the Search place and then you can get the code there. You scroll down to where it says, "Free Weather Stickers® for Your Homepage!"
Pick a small one so that the page won't take a long time to load.
Thanks, Pat! :D
Not many of us here today! Is everyone on vacation or just super busy?
Yes, there is a website, Etta Sue--- FLYLady.com. Maybe all small letters--anyway, she can find it easily enough. It generates a lot of emails, but you can always delete when you haven't time to read them.
Pat, why can't you get rid of the things in your garage? Just wondering..... :)
We had another sad thing happen here. A 14 year old girl was riding a 4 wheeler in the sandhills near Syracuse, hit another rider head on and was killed. She was the only grandchild of one of Darrel's classmates. I surely do feel bad for the parents and grandma. That makes 5 teen girls killed here in a little over one week.
Hi, Scotty! Did you get any photos taken?
I need to get to bed.
Hi everyone, new here and wanted to check in and meet all here. I've read your posts and you seem like a great bunch of people. I'm glad to be here. The devotional really made me think about who is doing the planning in my life. Me or God. I was forced to realize that most often I do all the planning and then and only then try to figure out if it was what God wanted. I do it with the best of intentions but it should be the other way around. I have been in a discussion with atheist on the DPChallenge.com website and while I will probably never know if I have done any good I am at least trying to plant some seeds. I have felt God's Holy Spirit speaking through me to them and that is what is most wonderful. I have had to pull my own tongue back in at times when it refused to obey but by and large I feel I am doing some good so Praise God. I just uploaded two photos to my new gallery if you want to take a look. Hope to get to know all of you better as time goes on. God bless.
Hi everyone. Had one of those lost days when I was just too tired to do anything. By the time I got home from my meeting at noon I had had it. Glad to say I feel like myself again this morning. I won't be walking, a least this morning, as it is Bible study with the pastor morning. There is no choir practice this evening since our schools are in spring break this week and there is no Wednesday evening program at the church.
dponlyme, welcome to the CP site. We always enjoy having new folks join with us here and hope you will post often.
Janet, your community is being hit very hard with the teen deaths. Hope you didn't wear yourself out yesterday afternoon with your work.
Time to head out for coffee this morning.
It looks like I haven't posted here since Monday. I don't know how I missed yesterday, I was here several times reading.
Yesterday after work I had my nails done again and she put little tiny flowers on each nail so they look very pretty. I keep admiring her work.
I am almost ready for my trip I only have to add the last minute things to my backpack and write out the instructions for Bill who is taking care of the dogs on how much and when to feed them. It is wonderful to have such nice neighbors, so the dogs don't have to go into a kennel. I will probably take them with me next time.
Well it is time for me to leave to pickup Willa and go to Curves for our workouts.
Later

Welcome, dponlyme. Hope you come back often. You are to be praised for trying to change an atheist's beliefs. Hope that those seeds grow...another victory for God! By the way, do you have a name other than dponlyme? That's kind of hard to pronouce. And also, we are neighbors...I'm from Indiana.
Today is Red Hat Society day. We are to go to Fishers, IN, to a small restaurant on the Monon Trail...used to be a railroad track but since most trains have left Indiana, this is now used for bicycling, running and walking.
Cloudy but suppose to become sunny this afternoon. And if I get home early, I plan to call my car guru's to see if I can take my car today for them to fix my A/C.(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(^)(^)^(

:coffee:! We had cable installed yesterday for the computer. However, our laptop continues to give us fits. Way behind in everything here & we are getting ready to head out of town before the storm hits today - heavy snow predictions. Grandsitting for four days.
I sent a note to Gord and Noreen in the Prayer section. Do hope that he has turned a corner for the better.
De-cluttering. I do this all of the time on a regular basis and it seems easier but still I have to do the deep de-cluttering. The serious stuff!
Welcome dponlyme.
Thanks for the welcome and if dponlyme is a bit of a pain to pronounce my name is Darren Perkins thus the dp. It's only me. dponlyme. I just came from posting with the atheist and am having a serious problem with supposed Christians who are trying to persuade them of God's existence or at least I thought they were, then I see where they are not sure themselves that 1. God exist 2. There is an afterlife and 3. If God does exist that he is the Christian God. I am completely disheartened that those who would identify as Christians would not have any assurance of these things. They are not making it easy for me to make a case for Christianity. I'll keep plugging away. It is certainly helping to keep my mind focused on God if nothing else.
Thank you Etta Sue for commenting on my photos. The reason for the 'forsaken' title on the dog shot is because his owner has him chained to a tree with a very short chain. He cannot even get down off of the top of his doghouse. He seemed very sad and tried to move about but to no avail. The chain is just way too short.
A big CP welcome to you, Darren! And may your efforts to witness to atheists and to "doubting Christians" bear much fruit. I notice that a lot of people who claim the title Christian have no idea what they really believe. They just want the name, I think.
It is misty-moisty here today. We are praying that we get a really good, soaking rain and not a hard freeze. The fruit trees are ready to burst into full bloom.
The little girl from here who was killed on the 4-wheeler was only 13. I learned today that she had a head-on collision with a dune buggy. So awful....... :'( And I'm not sure any of the family know the Lord, but I surely pray they do.
Larry, glad you are feeling stronger today. I'm feeling a bit achy from the damp air, but it's worth it if we can get some moisture.
Etta Sue, enjoy your Red Hat luncheon!
We are planning a trip to South Texas soon to visit Darrel's brother. Sure is a l-o-n-g old drive down there. (About 1000 miles. :()
Have a great afternoon!~
Well I've had a bit of trouble with my gallery. I deleted it by accident. I went ahead and uploaded the two I did yesterday and two more shots if anyone wants to check them out. One is of our newest edition and my first grandson. Hope I didn't break the rules by doing 4 pics today. Thanks for the welcome Janet. I think what happens is that people grow up with parents who give lip service to Christianity and it is passed along to the children. They identify as Christians when they don't really know what that means.
I have done some last minute laundry and washed my new jeans I still have to clean the kitchen tomorrow and shampoo my hair. I am getting all ready to go.
I will be safe. I promise to drive carefully, keep my eyes on the road and not gawk around sight seeing, that can come later. I will not speed or pass big logging trucks unless there is a passing lane. I will not use my cell phone unless I pull off the road. These are all instructions I have received from Keith, he is being a worry wart. he says he has never been a worrier until now. I think he's rather smitten. ;) with me. I think it's cute. He also told me to make sure I go to church tonight since I won't be here this weekend.
There is a new rumor at my church that seems to be going around. I am supposed to be leaving the church for good and never coming back. Ha how do these things get started anyway? My Pastor knows it isn't true but I have had people from other churches call me and invite me to their church (people that I know). i think I need to make and announcement at church and tell them I am NOT leaving.
Hello everyone, I'm about to go check out Darren's pics.
I bet there going to be good.
Those are great!
I'm headed there too, Scotty. A few hours later than you, but I'm getting here late. Nita
Thank you scotty and Nita!!
BLESSED ARE WE
Blessed are we when friends they greet
Take time to stop when we meet
To ask us how we are today
And help to pass some time away
With idle talk and cheerful chatter
And converse with us on any matter
But perhaps when it's time to part
We have not told what's in our heart
For they are only acquaintances that we know
Just busy people on the go
More blessed are we with friends who care
With them our problems we can share
Who really listen and take heed
Or forsake us never in our need
To lovingly hold and lend an ear
And quickly dry the falling tear
When we are weak they are strong
They give support to help along
When in them we can confide
Blessed are we to have them by our side
But most blessed of all are surely we
To have the One who died on a tree
A trustful caring forever friend
Whose love for us will never end
To bring our burdens that we bear
To Him alone and leave them there
For we will never find a better rest
Than in His arms held to His breast
Or ever know a better love
Than that which flows from Him above
Earthly friends are a joy to have
To ease our sorrows and help us laugh
But if you want a friend who is really true
Jesus is the one for me and you
Colin Moffett
I finished this poem today for the Radio Station. I just pop in and out here and read all your posts but I am really busy in the garden at the moment and most of my time is spent there.
Lovely pictures Darren and nice to meet you and also you ScottyBoy!
That Jeannine says she is springing a surprise on me and I have no idea what it is...she is making me nervous!
Love and God bless to all of you. Back to the weeding now.

Marilyn ~ I know you will have a safe trip. Sometimes when people tell me to drive safe or be careful, I think to myself...do they think I would do anything to harm others or myself intentionally? I know they don't but that is sometimes my thoughts.
Red Hats was great. We went to Bub's Cafe in Carmel. A house converted into a restaurant. Every wall was painted a different color. Every chair a different color. No two chairs at a table matched in design. But quite noisy...nothing to absorb noise. I have never ever ordered a grilled cheese sandwich in a restaurant before but I did yesterday. Great sandwich with three cheese, a different type bread, red peppers and pesto in it, fried in olive oil and herbs! Really good. And Loaded Potato Salad..never had that before. Nice lunch.
Today is 60 Chix. We are going to The Bank in Pendleton. It used to be a bank in my high school days but now a restaurant...The Bank. The menus look like checkbooks!
Yucky today. Looks like rain any minute. The phone rang early or I would still be in bed!!
Hi Colin!! You posted while I was composing. I see you have been composing also! Great poem, Colin. Great! @_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@_@

Hi everyone. It is another beautiful day here today after a really great day yesterday. I am just back a few minutes from morning coffee a the cafe and then walking in the gym with my two friends. I was able to get in 16 laps today, which is over 3/4 of a mile.
I had to stop a the bank to get some cash and came home and called a friend from church who needs help with her computer. I plan on going to her house around 4 pm to see if I can help her. I have done this several times before. She is in her early 80s but a very sharp lady. Unfortunately, she doesn't have much computer savvy. I will reinstall Open Office and put InfanView on her computer. That will be it for the day.
Marilyn, I hope you have a wonderful and enjoyable trip.
Etta Sue, that sounds like it was a very good grilled cheese sandwhich and that you had a good time. You sound like Pat and I in having a lot of eating out occasions. In some weeks we don't eat more than 2 or 3 meals at home in the evening or if we have had a big lunch, like we did yesterday, we just have a snack for dinner.
Janet, don't envy you your trip of 1000 miles. That is a lot of riding in the car but staying in touch with close family is important. We learned yesterday that Pat's aunt and uncle in Kansas City are not doing well so we may have to make a trip to Missouri. Her aunt is very stubborn and refuses to take the medicines she is prescribed and ends up the in hospital. This has happened several times. It was not in our plan to make a trip to Missouri this year but will do whatever is necessary.
Colin, thanks for the new poem. Isn't pulling all those weeds hard on your back? I have this friend here who has put out several large gardens each year and then sold his produce under a big tree at the place he used to live. At the end of each season he says he isn't going to do it anymore but just heard that he has his large garden planted again this year. He loves his gardening.
Darren, glad to learn your name.
Carol, hope you like your cable Internet. It will be fast but just hope it is reliable. I had cable but had to give it up as their service was awful. Hope that won't be your experience. Has Don tried using the System Restore function on the laptop to go back to where it was working well? I have had that rescue me several times.
Colin, I love that poem! I might "borrow" it to read somewhere (just need an occasion!) Don't overdo with all that garden work. I know you do have such a beautiful garden.
Etta Sue, that sounds like a fun place to eat, and with good food, too. Nice idea for a grilled cheese sandwich---they are usually so bland.
Larry, I am not looking forward to that long ride, and we are taking the big pickup, as Don has lots of stuff he wants us to take. He isn't taking care of it, and they have been being robbed lately. Someone even stole a big, heavy-duty 5th wheel gooseneck trailer. And went into his storage building and opened EVERY BOX in there! And here we have been getting rid of stuff............ :-\
It's my day to go eat with my youth friends. They want to invite a friend each, and to play a game, so I don't have to take craft stuff to do. We have such a short time together anyway.
This afternoon I'm going with Darrel to Liberal. He has a trouble call, and we might buy me a new chair. Mine is shot. I had a newer one, but it was way too big for me, and I gave it to my son-in-law.
Hello to all of you! Have a good trip, Marilyn! Hi, Scotty! Hello Darren! And greetings to the rest of you who will come in later.
I'm going over to grandparents house today. So, if it stays sunny, I'll get some pics of the Puget Sound, and the beach.
Have a nice day everyone!
It's my birthday today and thought you might like to see what I got. I have pictures at the link below. I think you'll like what I got from my youngest daughter. Just click the link below if your interested. Scroll down to see it all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARREN! Cool diary!
Thanks to all who commented on the poem.
Weeding is sore on my back Larry but like your friend, I love gardening!
Good afternoon all,
It has been some month this past month, Michael has been in the hospital twice, he is now home and fine. My mom fell twice and went to emergency, she is sore but good. My dad was in emergency for dehydration. I had been under the weather as well for a little bit. Things are getting back to "normal" whatever that is.
My husband is finally back from his trip. And says it is now my turn. OK, now for the surprise Colin hinted at thinking I had for him. On April 23rd I will be traveling to Northern Ireland, to visit him and his family and some of the other people I have met through him over there. It is a much needed break from all the tension which has threatened to overwhelm me. If it were not for our loving Father and the moral support Colin and his family have given...well, lets not go there. I can not wait to go and just immerse myself in the wonderous beauty of God's handiwork He put into that lovely Emerald Isle.
I have been reading as I am able to get online, it has been hectic. Know that I pray for all the needs mentioned, and not directly mentioned. Now I will go back to my little corner and continue to read and pray.
Colin, absolutely beautiful poem my friend!
Welcome to all the new members, and I pray for safe trip for all traveling.
Still Trusting In Him,
Jeannine
Darren - that diary with all its entries is absolutely a terrific gift! It's really wonderful that they were moved to do all that! That took a little inspiration.

I was going to fake surprise at your annoucement about coming over to meet me and my family Jeannine but you and I know we have talked about nothing else for weeks! I have the byre rid out and a drop of hay in it so that is your bed sorted out! You will get an Ulster fry in the mornin, a feed of champ in the afternoon and a drap o tae in the evening. <3
Just have to get the auld donkey shod and the cart rigged up and we will be all set for our excursions.
I will be glad to welcome Jeannine to my home and I thank her for the kind words she has written about me and my family. She is a wonderful person and we have been only too willing to give her support in her times of need. We are still hoping and praying that nothing else will prevent her from coming over as she has had so many setbacks recently. God willing in two weeks time she will be having the break she really needs and she will be enjoying the wonderful countryside of N. Ireland.
Goodnight all from the Auld Sod
I'm back from Toronto! I so dislike that city but the fellowship with Judy and Norm McKenna as I drove them to their medical appointment was lovely.
I'm so thrilled for you, Jeannine! I love Northern Ireland so much. I wish I were going as well. How long will you be over there.
Lovely poem, Colin. I so enjoy your poems. And I'd give anything to be able to have a real Ulster fry!

You'll have to make sure you put your birthday in your profile! ;)
I am all ready go go except for the last minute things like hair brush etc. little things. I will only work for 2 hours depends on what projects we have for tomorrow. Bill has been over to see where everything is for the dogs and Mimi will also check on them, too.
There has been more problems at my church and I do believe that I will be moving on to the Baptist church in Arcata. Eleanor called me this morning to tell me that the Pastor there has asked her to call me and invite me to some thing that is going on this weekend, but I will be out of town.
Marilyn, it's sad when problems occur in our churches.
Have a great trip!
Make sure you go to the "Urgent Prayer for Gord Brown (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=6787.msg117721#msg117721)" and see who posted!
We are back home from Liberal, and we did purchase a new recliner for me, and also a new bed. We have both been having trouble sleeping, and Darrel has had a lot of back pain, so we will be getting a tempur-pedic bed next week. It has a 20 year guarantee, so should be a good one.
Jeannine, what a wonderful trip! Have a great time, and Colin, you behave yourself! YOU sleep in the barn on the hay, and let Jeannine sleep in the house. ;) How I would love to visit Ireland.......well, someday. 8)
Pat, good you're home, too. Hello to Judy and Norm. When is the wedding? I've been trying to remember.
I'm tired and have to go to work early in the morning, so will sign off now.
Janet, the wedding is sneeking up on us!
It's May 24 at 1 pm at Royal City Baptist Church!
Thank you Pat I'm sure I will have a wonderful time. Your wedding is on Keith's birthday.
Well, what a coincidence!
Good morning,
Pat ~ I will be there about 6 weeks, it will be a very welcome time of rest and quiet, and I will enjoy the beauty of N. Ireland. An Ulster fry does sound good.
Janet ~ This is a dream come true, I always wanted to return to the UK, but now I get to see and meet friends I have made and N. Ireland is absolutely beautiful, at least now I am not young and stupid and can really enjoy everything.
Colin ~ Thank you! :-[ <3 (do I get to see the donkey?)
To all who come and read, may you have a God filled and blessed day.
Trusting In Him,
Jeannine
Well Jeannine I think you see the donkey everytime you see me! Another sunny morning in N. Ireland. Hope we have some lovely weather for your visit Jeannine.
Thank you Pat for your kind comments about the poem. I do my best with them and thanks to them, I have made some great friends. That includes you Pat and a May wedding is lovely. I am so pleased for you and Paul.
Janet I always behave myself :uglystupid:
Hi to everyone else!
Good Morning to one and all a special hello to Colin W are so glad you have come back to hosting with is and sharing your lovely poems. I copied the one from yesterday and sent it to my fiend Conny. I still want to put in my folder of "Colin's Poems"
This is the last post before I leave for Oregon when I get off work today. I am sure all y-all will be praying for a safe trip and and nice visit. Keith will also be praying for a safe trip.
Well I'll "see" y-all upon my return.
A special Thank You goes from my heart to Samantha.
TTYL
Hi everyone. Well it was so nice to read the messages today as they all seem very upbeat.
Darrin, your birthday gift seems very special and obviously a lot of love and thought went into it. Happy Birthday.
Marilyn is off on her trip. Jeannine has positive news and something very exciting in the works, Janet has a new chair and bed, Scotty is visiting his grandparents, and Gord is home from the hospital. I probably have missed someone but I am sure you all get the idea.
Today is our SeniorNet Learning Center Volunteer meeting and then the User Group meeting. After coffee this morning, three of us went to the gym and I walked 10 laps but they just have left me feeling very tired. I don't know how much I am going to be able to handle of the walking.
We are suppose to get some rain, at least a good possibility, later today and into tomorrow morning. Hope I am back home before it starts.
Thank you Marilyn and please have a safe journey and a lovely time with Keith. Take care and God bless.

What a lovely birthday gift for Darren! That is certainly a keeper!! You can tell that came from her heart with a lot of thought of what would be pleasing.
And I am green with envy in anyone spending any time at all on the Emerald Isle, let alone 6 weeks AND with Colin and his family!
And now Marilyn is going visiting, too! I just know you will have a great time.
Well, that's about the green with envy feelings from me. I took my car to get the A/C fixed and discovered it was low on Freon (sp). But when they put more in, it leaked. They replaced a valve but it was the wrong size...still leaked. So they sent me home and when the correct valve comes in this afternoon, they are too call me to bring the car back. If it still leaks then they will replace a line. Hopefully that does it.
And I turned on the home A/C just to see if it works correctly. It turned on and off and cooled so I guess it is okay, too.
Kitty comes home today. It will be nice to see her again.
I forgot to go for Photo Lessons last night. Senior Moment, I guess.
My lunch with the 60 Chix was super. Seven of us...nice group so we could talk and hear each other.
My husband would have been 78 today!
That's it!^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+

How interesting to read all of your posts and to read Larry's precis of them!
I hope all of you have a wonderful time.
I'm leaving next Wed morning at (hopefully) about 4:30 am so it won't be long now.
I just did a little search on the internet about a "Christian in the World" and thought I'd share a paragraph with you all and maybe you could all share your thoughts?
This little short exerpt is about Titus 3
Christian Living in the World
Titus 3:2
To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness unto all men.At verse 2 the church's responsibility toward all people comes into view. The tradition seems to have influenced Paul here to connect this responsibility and the responsibility to the state (compare 1 Pet 2:13, 17).
Essentially, the instructions advise the Cretan Christians to make as few waves as possible by living in a way that fosters good relations. In the area of speech, Christians are not to be known as those who slander others. Rather, in speech and conduct (that is, in the totality of life; see discussion at 1 Tim 4:12) they are to be known for peaceableness, gentleness (NIV considerate) and meekness (humility) toward all people.
Misunderstanding these qualities leads to what has been called "doormat Christianity." But in reality they have nothing to do with passivity. Peaceableness is a conscious mode of response that allows one to resist taking a violent course in difficult situations, often sacrificially, in order to save relationships. Gentleness (or consideration) is an attitude that quiets personal concerns to make room for the concerns of others. And meekness (humility) is that balanced perception of oneself that makes it possible to regard others as more important (compare Phil 2:3-4). In fact, the last two qualities describe Christlikeness, the basic disposition of Christ toward others (2 Cor 10:1; compare 1 Tim 3:3; 2 Tim 2:25).
Paul's language portrays Christian living in relation to all people as reasoned forbearance in every aspect of life, the putting of the concerns of others ahead of one's own. This is a short part of an article that can be found HERE (http://www.biblegateway.com/resources/commentaries/index.php?action=getCommentaryText&cid=11&source=1&seq=i.63.3.2)What do you think? I'd love to know.

Cleanse Me (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/now.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Search me, O God, and know my heart today;
Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts I pray.
See if there be some wicked way in me;
Cleanse me from ev'ry sin and set me free.
I praise Thee, Lord, for cleansing me from sin;
Fulfill Thy Word and make me pure within.
Fill me with fire where once I burned with shame;
Grant my desire to magnify Thy name.
Lord, take my life and make it wholly Thine;
Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine.
Take all my will, my passion, self and pride;
I now surrender, Lord--in me abide.
O Holy Ghost, revival comes from Thee;
Send a revival--start the work in me.
Thy Word declares Thou wilt supply our need;
For blessings now, O Lord, I humbly plead.

Darren, that's a nice birthday gift you got from your daughter. She draws better than I do!
HAHAHA. ;D
Thank you Marilyn
I posted a prayer request in that section that I am going to put here also.
A girl I used to work with a few years ago - her husband was killed on the job today. Tragic accident, they have two kids 1 of each, ages 14, and 9. They said he got saved back in August. They said he also told his wife that if something ever happened to him at work, to have them investigate it. He was only 39. She is a really sweet person. Please remember them in the next few days, I'm sure it is going to be hard on them all.
Thanks,
Samantha
Oh yeah, my preacher has been having chest pains for a few days, they ran a heart cath on him today and said everything looked fine and that he sure didn't look like he had the heart of a 70 year old man! Please remember him too, as he really has not felt good at all. But at least we now know its not his heart. :)
So many needs in our little community and the extended connections. Thanks Samantha. As I posted over in the Prayer area, I will definitely be praying.
It's wonderful to hear the good news from so many of you.
I think I'm dealing with a bit of depression tonight, so will keep the post brief.
Y'all have a good rest of the evening.
:) Good morning to all . I woke up at 2-00 A.M. and it seemed hard to go back to sleep so I made a cup of tea and came and read the pos'ts.
I am so glad to be home and am feeling very weak and so very useless as I am not able to help Noreen. Our daughter called yesterday and invited for dinner last night and that was so nice for Noreen. We are finding it so hard to keep the house clean and also just looking after everything so can you all continue to keep praying for daily strength and that we find someone to come and help.
The Lord is so good and we did make contact with a local organization that helps handicapped people get jobs that they are able to do so we have a supervisor coming on Monday to discuss this problem with us so we can say praise the Lord already for this.
I don't remember if I told you all yet but I asked the Doctor before he did the surgery in the O.R. could I pray and he said we could find a minuete and we did so praise the Lord again. :coffee:
Well I will sign off for know and it is so good to be back on C.P. and again thank you for all your prayers during my time at the hospital.
God bless to all and have a great day in the Lord's house ;)
Gord and Noreen.
So nice to see you post, Gord. So often over the years when I've been unable to sleep, I've come here to CP. Glad you do the same.
I hope that you get your doctor to fill in the form needed to get the help that I mentioned on the phone. You need the help and you deserve to get it.
Hi everyone. I sure didn't have any trouble sleeping last night and seldom do. My walking yesterday morning really exhausted me but didn't walk today and am not as tired. Hopefully I will be rested up by Monday and will try walking less laps at a time.
We had some lovely rain last night and no storms. I was able to get a sound problem on my wifes computer fixed this morning to use with some recording software I got last week. It was just the matter of something not being checked properly in a control screen for recording.
Not much on the agenda for today. We will attend a meeting this morning and then have a quiet afternoon and evening.
Hope you are feeling better today Ruth Ann.
Gord, sure is nice to see you posting again and hope you can get help with your needs around your home.
I can't believe it, Larry!
We're going to see each other in 6 days!!!
Put the kettle on!
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%253Cbr%2520%2F%253E%2FAwwwheart.gif&hash=e5d26f8fe53f403542bc72b572583a209a784875)
As for Pat's wanting response about actions of a Christian, I have copied The Message text of Titus 3:1-11. I love reading different versions of the Bible to really make it sink into my hard head. :clobber: Remember this is Paul speaking.
Remind the people to respect the government and be law-abiding, always ready to lend a helping hand. No insults, no fights. God's people should be bighearted and courteous.
It wasn't so long ago that we ourselves were stupid and stubborn, dupes of sin, ordered every which way by our glands, going around with a chip on our shoulder, hated and hating back. But when God, our kind and loving Savior God, stepped in, he saved us from all that. It was all his doing; we had nothing to do with it. He gave us a good bath, and we came out of it new people, washed inside and out by the Holy Spirit. Our Savior Jesus poured out new life so generously. God's gift has restored our relationship with him and given us back our lives. And there's more life to come—an eternity of life! You can count on this.
I want you to put your foot down. Take a firm stand on these matters so that those who have put their trust in God will concentrate on the essentials that are good for everyone. Stay away from mindless, pointless quarreling over genealogies and fine print in the law code. That gets you nowhere. Warn a quarrelsome person once or twice, but then be done with him. It's obvious that such a person is out of line, rebellious against God. By persisting in divisiveness he cuts himself off.
Last evening Aaron called Ivalou while I was at her house and we all went out to a Steak House to eat. I got a Ribeye for the price of a 6-oz. Sirlion...their mistake. It was sooooo good!
Today Ivalou and I are going to a funeral visitation and possibly the funeral. I believe our second cousin will be cremated. Linda Jo was only 45...too young. I happened upon the obituary as I was searching local newspapers online. It will be nice visiting with cousins but sad under the circumstances. + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Thanks, Etta Sue  I think that pretty well sums it up as far as how a Christian should act, and interact, with others.
I'm still trying to get all my comuter "personality" back where I want it. At the moment, (and I'm giving up for a while) I am unable to use Word or Word Works. I keep getting the message that I have to enter a "CD key" of 25 characters and I can't find any such animal. ??? Oh, well, life is too short to be worrying about that. I'm going out and prune some bushes and see about cutting the grass. It's a beautiful day and I might as well get out and enjoy it.
Gordon it is really encouraging to see you in here and posting. I will pray that you get the help needed and that you will quickly and completely regain your strength.
Good morning all. I've been "down" with a bad cold, but am much better this morning.
Jane, do you have your original CD that came with your computer? The packet with all the programs Dell had installed? You should find the key (registration key) on the CD or somewhere there. I ended up installing Open Office, the free one that someone mentioned. I forget now. Was it you Larry? Maybe it was Seniornet. I like it.
I need to have another cup of tea for the throat. It's so beautiful out too. If my son comes over to mow today, I'd like to sit out in the sunshine. :) Nita
Get well soon, Nita!
Not nice feeling under the weather when it's nice outside.
Good evening all.
Am sitting at the computer listening to my latest Legacy Five CD. Donna & I so enjoy their gospel filled music with a message. We went to their concert last night in Romulus, Mi. Romulus is where the Detroit Airport is located.
We first met the L5 on a Chas Stanley cruise to Alaska in 2002. We loved them then and grow to love their music more all the time.
L5 was formed when the Cathedrals retired. Scott Fowler and Roger Bennett, formed the L5. In the the 8 or 9 yrs they've been together they have been nominated for and won over 25 awards.
In March 2007 Roger lost his 12 year fight against cancer. He had 3 bone marrrow transplants.
The group is carrying on. They travel the world. They hold a celebration event every Memorial Day & Labor Day in Nashville. One of these times we will attend it. This year they have a post Labor Day concert on Mackinaw Island, MI.

Hi, everyone;
My parents are on their weekly date. So, I'll have to take pics for the challenge tomorrow.
Hopefully I'll get some good ones.
Oh yeah, I was going to try a new font. Here goes.
Scotty
Wow, that's cool!
Let's try a it a little bigger.
Scotty
That's better.
Just a little bigger.
Scotty
Perfect!
I have had a long and busy day, and my feet are hurting. So I'm going to bed and read for a while.
Good to read all of your posts today. I will try to get here tomorrow, but I'm working in the afternoon again.
Well, it was another full 8 hour day at the office today, but then I got to speak with my brother from Ohio, and a friend and I met for catfish at a catfish specialty restaurant near Nashville. Yummy!
My depression is not nearly so bad today. It's no fun to be blue, is it. (Even though Kermit says it isn't easy being green, either! ;) )
Well, I've about decided to agree with the surgeon and stay home a few days after that cyst is removed from my thumb on Tuesday. He recommends resting that thumb the remainder of the week. That should give me some time to make the calls and maybe do some retirement research online.
It's so lovely to hear the thanksgiving in Gord's voice for being brought through his health crisis, and the excitement in Pat's and Marilyn's as they anticipate seeing their "men friends" this weekend. How delightful is that breathless anticipation of the good times when two are about to be together again.
Larry, we certainly enjoy your posts, and I'm hoping you'll continue to be able to do the things you enjoy while going at your own pace to do them.
I need to begin taking notes so I can answer more people with reasonable lucidity when I write. ::)
Janet rest up. Etta Sue, how good it is to hear of your enjoyment of life itself.
Well, must move along. Y'all have a wonderful day tomorrow.

No, Nita. :-\ The shop installed an updated version of Windows ME and they kept the cd. I have put a message on their answering machine and will be parked outside when they come in to work at 10 a.m. Tuesday! I've often heard "patience has its virtue" so ....... 0:-)
Sure sorry you're feeling puny ... get better real soon, K? <3
I didn't know there was an updated version of ME. I have the Microsoft Works set of CDs. It has Word on it. If you want to install that, let me know.
My daughter, Rene, is coming to stay a week on Monday. It will be nice to see her. My house is literally wall to wall with baby things, ie bassinet, swing, high chair, jumperoo. All in my living room, and it isn't a big room to start with. I told my daughter to be prepared for total chaos. She just wants to see the babies so maybe she won't notice my house. lol
I'm feeling better tonight. :) In fact, I babysat for Maycie while her mom went to a barbecue earlier. Our weather is so nice. I sat in the yard this evening and smelled barbecue around here. Probably more than one.
Scotty, I like your new font. Are you going to be taking pictures of trees? I guess I'll get out sometimes and find a nice photographic tree. Nita

I didn't know there was an updated version of ME. I have the Microsoft Works set of CDs. It has Word on it. If you want to install that, let me know.
I have that same set of CDs ... Microsoft Works is installed on my computer, I just can't access any of the documents until I register the "CD code" ... that is supposed to be "on the back of the jewel case" which I do not have. :-\ Oh well ... I can find other things to do in the meantime.
I got the grass cut around my place today and then trimmed the ivy topiary and another out of control bush/tree ... even split a few pieces of (wet) wood ... I worked a while then, when my back and hips were screaming, I'd take a break ... then back to work some more. During some of the "breaks" I vacuumed the floors in here. I were one very tard, achy person by the time I decided to give up and just sit in the recliner for the rest of the evening. :)
Ed, I thought everyone knew the airport was actually in Romulus! Just kidding! <3
Ed have you ever listened to the Primitive Quartet? They are really good too! We love to see them in concert.
Good Sunday to everyone today. We will be attending the funeral today. Found out that he was the president of his local union, just wonder if that has anything to do with him thinking something would happen to him at work? Couldn't even go to the viewing last night, the church was sooooo full of cars and people, more than if it was a church service. I live in a wonderful community! We really all do care about each other.
Marilyn, if you get to peek in, Hi!
Later,
Samantha :)
Hi everyone. After a cloudy day yesterday the weather has changed and it is sunny but turning colder. We are suppose to have some very chilly weather for the next 2 or 3 days. Hopefully it will be warm again by this next weekend.
Pat, we are looking forward to your visit on Friday night and all will be ready. The housekeeper is coming tomorrow so hopefully we won't clutter the house too bad before you get here. However, am sure you are not coming to inspect our house. :)
Jane, go online and run a program call Belarc at Belarc.com. It is free and it will give you a report that should show you the license number of all the software installed on your computer. It is a fantastic program and I have used it often.
Nita, I can imagine all the baby things in your house after having visited our granddaughter and she doesn't have the tiny ones anymore as the youngest is over 2 years old. However, the little smiles and joy we get from the grandchild or great grandchild are worth any inconvenience associated with some clutter in our homes. All too soon the little ones grow up and leave the house becomes a little less full of life.
Ruth Ann, I think your doctor is giving you good advice in taking a few days off to recover and it might make a big difference in the success of your surgery. Even though we don't like to think that our employer will be able to get along without us when we are not there that simply isn't true. Glad you are coming out of the sense of depression. I think we all have a bit of that from time to time even those of us who don't particularly have a problem in that area.
Scotty, I like your new signature.
Samantha, I don't think I have every heard the Primitive Quartet sing. I will have to watch for them. It sounds like that will be a huge funeral.
Janet, I think you are working too hard. Just hope you are also finding time each day to enjoy the day. These are things we must each decide for ourselves.
Ed, I liked the singing of the Cathedrals and sure I would like the L5 group as well.
Etta Sue, 45 is very young to lose your life. I am sure that will be a sad funeral from that standpoint. It sounds like you had a great meal.
We will head to church in about 30 minutes or so and sure we will go out to lunch somewhere today. At least one of our couples will not be there today as his brother passed away Thursday and they have gone to North Carolina.

I'm like Larry when it comes to the Primitive Quartet. Do they travel to Michigan?
Ed
Hi everyone just checkingin before I leave Oregon to go home. I had a great time and will tell you more later

Brrrr! It is cold in Indiana. The wind cuts you like a steak knife!! Did I say Brrrrr?
Larry ~ I have used Belarc quite a few times...even when I am getting online help. Belarc lets them know the innards of the pc without my trying to figure out what they want to know.
The funeral visitation was sad and happy. Linda Jo was a happy, in your face, tell you like it is, compassionate person. She was single...divorced 9over 20 years ago) but her husband passed away soon after from a seizure in the shower. He fell and broke his neck and was found 3-4 days later. Hiedi, the daughter, has now lost both of her parents. We stayed for the memorial. What a testimony for Linda Jo. Over a dozen people got up to tell their story about Linda Jo. Happy and sad. If a memorial is held for me maybe two people will say something and that is if my siblings out-live me!!
Then Ivalou and I went out to eat and when we came home, we noticed Kaye Don and Barb were home from Florida. So we stopped in there.....until 11 o'clock last night. Hey, we had a lot to talk about and besides, they have until October to put away what they brought home from Florida!!
Church was awesome. The ministers are preaching on LifeHD. Old life...new life. When we accept Christ, we are to live for the future and not look back on the past. Our old self was sinful. Our new self, our sins are forgiven. The rest of our lives we are to become Christlike and prepare for our eternal life in heaven. Just what I needed message.
Now it is time to get under my afghan and get warm...I am cold! ME!! I am COLD!!^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

We have a lovely sunny day.
I should start taking notes as well but I will say that there is happy news and sad news and even though there is sadness you are able to find the good to chat about which is encouraging to me and perhaps others as well.
Last evening we went out to a fancy restaurant for dinner with my brother and his wife a big price tag but once a year that is ok given that today is our wedding anniversary of 45 yrs. then today went to Burlington for a drive and on our way home stopped for lunch.
Ruth
Congratulations Ruth on your Anniversary!
Larry~Belarc showed the license numbers alright, but had an asterisk to the note: "May be manufacturer's factory installed version rather than yours." That's exactly the case! What I had was factory installed and this is an updated version and the software is at the computer shop where I had ME reinstalled. :clobber:
Soooo Marilyn is on her way home .... didn't even manage to call me while in my neighborhood. hmmmmphh... Oh, I guess she had other things on her mind, yuh s'pose? :D
Well, we didn't make it to the funeral, Terry was feeling really bad after lunch.
Ed and Larry, I'm looking for a link to a Primitive Quartet song, so you can hear them. They are based out of Candler, NC. Not too far from Karmat :)
Kind of bluegrass sounding but really good.
Later,
Samantha
yep. The Primitive Quartet's "singing grounds" are about 20 minutes from my house. We go almost every 4th of July to hear them and others in a big outdoor concert. :)
They are one of my husband's favorite groups. We have kind of an ongoing "joke" and will poke fun at various singers, etc. Remember, it is all in good fun and only between the two of us. No one is immune, according to my husband, except the Primitives and Sonya Isaacs. :)
I really not a huge Southern Gospel fan, but I truly enjoy this particular event. It would be cool if next summer some of y'all could come down/over/up and join us. We don't have a lot of room, but we could come up with a bed or two. :)
I promise I have read every post, but am not going to comment on them tonight.
Our church had about 20 people baptized tonight, almost all of them were young people. I'm thinking this is the beginning of the good coming out of the horrible tragedy of losing five young girls in less than two weeks in this community. What the devil means for harm, God can use for good. I was working, so missed the baptisms, but did go to the fellowship afterward.
I'm off tomorrow, and I'm glad about that! Larry, I think I agree with you--I am working too hard. But soon the others will be coming back to work, then I won't be working as much.
Blessings to you all, and
CONGRATULIONS TO RUTH AND HUSBAND ON YOUR ANNIVERSARY!!
Sorry Jane I forgot to program your number into my cell phone and I couldn't remember the street you live on. We went to Shore Acres and walked through the garden, Started to walk down to the beach until I saw how far I would have to be walking back up :-\
The we went to where the lookout place is and read all the stuff on the Simpson family, took a few pics of the ocean; we drove all the ways to the end there. Didn't get to take any of the sunsets. He took me to his office and showed me around there, we did some grocery shopping at Walmart. (boy that place is huge). He drove me around an showed me some of the buildings he has designed and some his father designed.
We watched some movies.
My friend Conny called my cell while we were our and about yesterday to check up on me and tell me about the church service she had attended the night before. Gilbert called me last night to check on me. I had called him the night befoe and talked for awhile.
Anyway I am tired so will got to bed now. The dogs were sure glad to see me. Bill said they wouldn't eat this morning. Must of been missing me.
Good Night
Hi, I couldn't get on earlier, so glad it's working for me now.
Yes, I agree with Ruth, it's wonderful to read of your lives and the wonderful influences you have where you live. Imagine how great it will be to meet those in heaven who may have been influenced by something we said or did. I can't wait to see those who have been role models for me.
Y'all have a good evening, friends.
It's past time to put this in here, but anyway, now you can go to this week's.
