"How could we have such a low view of the gospel of Jesus Christ that we have to manipulate men psychologically to get them to come down and pray a prayer?
How many times have I heard evangelists say, "It'll only take five minutes."?
No my dear friend, it will take your life-–all of it!"

Morning Devotional...The Prayer of Faith...The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. --James 5:16
A second important requirement if the believing church is to be used in God's ministry is prayer and the response God makes to our prayers uttered in true faith.... No matter what our stature or status, we
have the authority in the family of God to pray the prayer of faith. The prayer of faith engages the heart of God, meeting God's conditions of spiritual life and victory.
Our consideration of the power and efficacy of prayer enters into the question of why we are part of a Christian congregation and what that congregation is striving to be and do. We have to consider
whether we are just going around and around--like a religious merry-go-round. Are we simply holding on to the painted mane of the painted horse, repeating a trip of very insignificant circles to a pleasing musical accompaniment?...
All of the advertising we can do will never equal the interest and participation in the things of God resulting from the gracious answers to the prayers of faith generated by the Holy Spirit.
"Lord, don't ever let me be satisfied 'holding on to the painted mane of the painted horse.' I want to be part of a dynamic Body of believers, greatly used of You because we're seeing answers to genuine 'prayers of faith generated by the Holy Spirit.' Amen."
Dr. Tozer in Tragedy in the Church: The Missing Gifts, 7-8.
Thank you Pat.
Oh so true Pat. I believe we can put a gun to someones head and make them pray the sinners prayer but until God uses the Holy Spirit to convict their heart we are wasting our time. A sinner needs to hear God's word and then we need to pray that the Holy Spirit will work on the sinners heart. If anything is going to happen God has to do it. If we do it ourselves nothing accomplished.
Have You ever been whipped by the Holy Spirit? I have and I can tell you friend that it was the worst whipping I have ever had. You can't get away from it!
A old Saint giving me the word and praying, God and the Holy spirit convicting me to the point that I was willing to admit I was a sinner, repent of my sins and asking Jesus to come into my heart is why I am saved. It was not of me,and God still has to keep me.
Praises be to God! Thank You Lord!
Thanks Pat!
Have a great day everyone and remember God Loves YOU!
Hi everyone. It is now just dawn and it appears it will be a bright and another warm day. Yesterday after church we did close up the house and turn on the AC and were much more comfortable the rest of the day.
The housekeepers are to be here this morning. We had to cancel two weeks ago since Pat had the flu so the house is in need of attention. I expect the yard people will also be here although our grass doesn't start growing until later in the spring. I will attend the men's Monday luncheon and that will be it for today.
Pat, thanks for the devotional for this week. Glad to read you are safely in Virginia. Are you aware you would be welcome inside the McDonald's to use your computer as long as you want. When they announced the pretty much system-wide free wi-fi they made that plain. I am seeing more and more people using computers in McDonald's. We use their wi-fi everyday we go there for coffee.
Liz, always exciting to have a new computer and hope you soon adjust to the Windows 7 operating system. I found there was really very little difference. One of the big changes was the versatility of the search function after you hit the Start button. Also it takes a little getting used to the idea of libraries but I found I soon adapted. You asked about AVG and Norton's. I know that many people like Norton's but I am not one of them. There software created such a mess in my computer several years ago that I vowed I wouldn't ever use that product again, whether it was free or not. I have used the AVG Free version as well as the Avast Free version and now use the Microsoft Security Essentials, which is also free and have had very good results and saved a lot of money. However, it is a matter of preference. I read a lot of different computer writer's newsletters and they all seem to agree the free products are fine for home use. One thing I like about the Microsoft Security Essentials is that it keeps itself updated with new virus definitions and is seamless not requiring any periodic action on my part or nagging me to do something. Sorry that you are going to have to delay your cataract surgery.
Sarah, the fires sound very scary and do hope you all get some soaking rain soon.
Janet, thinking of you today.
Well, time to head out for coffee and get my day started.
Great devotional, Pat. It is easy to get caught up with the merry-go-round of automatic and non-thinking prayer.
As to anti-virus products, I've been using AVG free for a long time and have always been pleased with it. It updates every morning automatically at 7:00 (or as soon after that as I boot up the computer) and automatically does a full scan in the background every morning at 10:00.

A nap was in store yesterday afternoon...so late that when I woke I thought I was late for Small Groups...but I still had an hour to go! Small Groups was great and a great discussion of Ananias and Saphirra and how they tried to deceive God. Great discussion.
The hostess of Small Groups had told me she had a small table that I could have for my laptop. When I got there, it was just like what I got at Office Depot but she told me to take it anyway...she didn't want it. So I did. It is about 3 inches wider so I changed and really like it better. Seems the offset legs are farther back so my office chair sits under the table better and I can put everything on the top that I want. Before I had a 3-legged foot stool to hold some stuff.
Today was rehab for Ivalou. Today the therapist gave Ivalou a massage on her neck and spine. Ivalou says she feels so much better already even though it hurt while Jen was massaging. Ivalou must be full of tight knots! But each session she seems to be better!
Then we ate breakfast at Bob Evans and then to WalMart. Ivalou got a Black and Decker Battery Operated Weed Eater and a Dirt Devil sweeper and a few other things. I only got oil for my lawn mowers and plastic eggs for the Youth Minister and the Easter Egg Hunt the 23rd.
Now I am ready to go to Photo Guild tonight. It will just be Kitty and I so I imagine we will have Mexican since her husband won't eat Mexican food and Ivalou isn't that fond of it either!
Tomorrow Kitty and I plan to swim. So that will make something to do every day this week!
Today my husband would be 81 if still living. Since he was 61 when he passed away, he will forever be young to me. ^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+^+

HAHAHA! Etta Sue, I fell asleep after lunch, too. And I woke up in a panic, sure that my roof was leaking really bad and I couldn't get hold of anyone to come look at it. Of course, I had to check it out as soon as I woke up, even though I could see that the sun was shining and knew I'd only been dreaming.
Janet: How wonderful that you were with your mom. Just remember the best times in life with her.
We have had quite a weekend and did expect to go to church/ fix a big breakfast for daughter/ and then go to grandson's Eagle Scout ceremony. Well, we did go to church. Our daughter came & they had already eaten (communication problem) and right as she stepped into the door with her family, Don became violently sick. After he was settled in bed and said he was feeling a bit better - I went on to the ceremony. It was so special and grandson, along with his scout friends, had really worked hard - he was pushing his friends to get their badge too. Today, Don is better and able to get fresh air.
Jeanne: LOL
Hello everyone:
Just back from spending some time with a friend and since Mel is not going to be home early I will be meeting Sue for a bite to eat.
It is also frustrating trying to balance the check book and for reason of numbers it is not doing to well. I will try again tomorrow to get things figured out.
While out I thought the wind just might blow me away but the day has also been warm and sunny and that I do enjoy.
Jesus is good all the time. Ruth

It has been a long afternoon. Took Kassie to the Doctor about her foot and he sent her for X-rays. We were so long getting them done that the doctor called the clinic and told us to come back tomorrow instead of after the X-rays were done. That means another trip in to town. Kassie has decided to return to Cadets. We are so very pleased about this. She will finish out the year there will be no promotions, but next year will be better. She has 2 years left.
I am waiting for John to call so I must close off. Have a restful night folks and God bless.
Please forgive my ignorance of the messages this week.
Today alone, GOD HAS REVEALED ANSWERS TO PRAYERS FROM 30 YEARS AGO, FOR 2 SITUATIONS,! And a more recent one as well.
Then He blessed even more abundantly in a seemingly hopeless situation in a family I have grown to love as my own. Another praise, storms, hail, high winds seemed to have moved on and I was held safely in His hands as I waited to be able to safely return home. And, it seems no life was lost.
Humbly, Ruth Ann
Morning Everyone
The weather people say we might get a strong T Storm today with a high of 76°. Typical spring weather for sure.
Had to take the grand kids to school, done, have to pick them up after school and then take them back to ball practice, pending.
Bought gas last night after visiting the rest home, $3.77 a gal here. I'm tired of working for the gas people >:(, if I didn't have to buy gas I wouldn't need money, between my 5 vehicles and my greenhouses, that by the way is bringing in less than is going out, I wouldn't need money. I think it's time to call it quits, go home and work in my yard, surf the net, and of course go fishing with my grand kids. :) Enough ranting.
Praise God for answered prayer. Ruth Ann I am glad those prayers were answered for you.
Have a great day everyone
and remember God Loves YOU!
Ruth Ann, what an AWESOME God we serve! Thank you for that wonderful message of praise for answered prayer. :)

I told Kitty that I would need gas before driving last night to Photo Guild. But when I checked the GasBuddy on Droid, the local gas station said $3.99.9 a gal. Anderson was $3.84.9. So since we were going to Anderson decided to wait. Well, it was $3.99.9 there also!! So I didn't get gas. I know it was a lot less in Noblesville yesterday. I still say these prices are gouging John Q Public.
I am always amazed at the photography at Killbuck Photo Guild (http://www.killbuckphoto.phanfare.com/).
Click on the different albums and see for yourself how amazing these people are with their cameras. All except the Etta Gann one.
Partly cloudy today after all day rain yesterday. What a difference a day makes in the Spring. My maple trees have little leaves on them. My tulip poplar has big buds on them. Spring flowers are in bloom. Robins and turtle doves galore in my yard. And I will probably have lilacs by the weekend! Have you ever thought of how God made so many shades of green? I have.
Today we are going swimming. Not sure what else is on the agenda. Someone last night said I could go to Frye's and purchase PSPX3 for $59.95 and with 2 rebates, you get all your money back. FREE is good!! Maybe I can talk Kitty into stopping there.
When I previewed this, it said '

See my post doesn't have 'Re:' in the subject line. This one does! :-\
Hi everyone. Our area once again escaped any severe weather last evening with just a little bit of rain. It appears the power must have gone off as one of the alarm clocks was blinking but the computers were back up and running this morning. Just got back from coffee and then walking about 16 laps at the gym. That takes care of most of my energy for the day. I do have a meeting to attend this morning and later this afternoon the lady from the Golden Games is stopping by to pick up one last change in the paperwork. Tomorrow the games begin with the Opening Ceremony, which will be a nice lunch and business meeting. Pat is going with me to the opening but not the closing.
Pat has gone to the Senior Center this morning and was gone when I got back from coffee. Always glad to see her feeling up to doing this
Don, I know how you feel on the gas situation and yesterday I was shocked to see the very large increases in food prices with apples now selling at $2 per pound as an example. I have always liked Brach's candy but haven't seen it in any store in this area until yesterday I went to a different supermarket and they had the display. It was $4.98 a pound. I won't be having any of that, which is probably just as well. :)
Ruth Ann, glad you had your prayers answered yesterday. God answers when it is time according to his plan for our lives not when we think he should because it wouldn't have been best for us earlier.
Judy, the long waits for medical service can be very frustrating. I fear that is what we will soon be facing here in the USA. So far our Kaiser doctors usually stay pretty much on schedule but our daughter often faces very long delays even with appointment times.
Ruth, I have found the solution to balancing the checkbook. My wife now does it. Of course, when she can't get it to balance I usually get called to help find the problems.
Carol, glad Don was feeling better yesterday but sure he hated to have to miss that special occasion for your grandson. Becoming an Eagle Scout is a big thing representing a lot of work.
Etta Sue and Jeanne, I just build in an afternoon rest period (sometimes nap and sometimes just rest if not sleepy) and it really helps. I get very tired when I have to miss it. I have done this for many years.
Ruth Ann Thankyou for your praise report. I for one get impatient when there is no visible answer. Sometimes I need a wack with a 2 X 4 to get my attention that it is God's timing not mine.
The rain has finally quit. The sun is shining. Wonderful day.
God bless you all
Judy
Amen to that!!!
So pleased to have read Ruth Ann's answered prayers.
Yes, HE is so awesome,
In HIS timing; and loving that HE does it that way, 'cause we humans would "louse up" what we want , when we want it and not wait for HIS timing and miss out on the best; what is best for us from the one who created and died for us.
Praise HIS name,
Joyce
Please pray for me, because Still waiting for HIS word to sell our home--know there's a reason for this long , two years delay in selling, I keep thinking:
Lord, you must have something wonderful right around the corner waiting for me; so I wait..
Hi, friends, it's "here again, gone again" Ruth Ann. Today I'll be at the Post Office, then most likely a nap followed by clerical work for a former boss.
Much love, Ruth Ann
I went for my six-month checkup at the doctor's this afternoon and, Praise the Lord, everything seems to be good - heart, breathing, blood pressure, improvement shown in last dexa scan. I feel almost guilty having such a good report when so many are suffering. Almost, but not really. The Lord is keeping His hand on me for a reason and some day I'll find out what that reason is. Meanwhile, I thank Him from the bottom of my heart that things are so good.
Yesterday it was summer, complete with a late day thunderstorm. Today we're back to what is more or less normal for spring with on-again off-again sunshine, upper 40's to near 50 this afternoon, and it looks like that's what we'll have for the next week. Sure a big difference from a couple of weeks ago! :D
It's me again. I just read this in an e-mail from a friend and found it so powerful I wanted to share it with you all:
THE SILENT SERMON
A member of a certain church, who previously had been attending services regularly, stopped going. After a few weeks, the preacher decided to visit him.
It was a chilly evening. The pastor found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire. Guessing the reason for his preacher's visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace...and waited.
The preacher made himself at home but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After some minutes, the preacher took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone, then he sat back in his chair, still silent.
The host watched all this in quiet contemplation. As the one lone ember's flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more. Soon it was cold and dead.
Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting. The preacher glanced at his watch and realized it was time to leave. He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead ember and placed it back in the middle of the fire. Immediately it began to glow, once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.
As the preacher reached the door to leave, his host said with a tear running down his cheek, 'Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the firey sermon. I will be back in church next Sunday.'
We live in a world today, which tries to say too much with too little. Consequently, few listen. Sometimes the best sermons are the ones left unspoken.
The Lord is my Shepherd ----- that's a Relationship!
I shall not want ----- that's Supply!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures ----that's Rest!
He leadeth me beside the still waters -----that's Refreshment!
He restoreth my soul -- that's Healing!
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness -- that's Guidance!
For His name's sake ----- that's Purpose!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death --that's Testing!
I will fear no evil ----- that's Protection!
For Thou art with me ----- that's Faithfulness!
Thy rod and Thy staff comfort me -----that's Discipline!
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies ---that's Hope!
Thou annointest my head with oil -----that's Consecration!
My cup runneth over ----- that's Abundance!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life ---that's Blessing!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord ----- that's Security!
Forever ----- that's Eternity!
Face it, God is crazy about you!
Larry, That is a powerful story..... I have already shared it...... so many people stop coming out to services and don't realize the effect!! Thank you!!
Oh, how wonderful
Larry, I am printing this out and putting up in my office for all to see and read.
Thank you,
Joyce
I agree with the others I liked it also and would like to share it if its ok.
Very touching story and one to share with my minister.
Here's another really sad video. Sad but true. If you are faint of heart, do not watch. Really lets you know what Japan has gone through.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1376119/Japanese-tsunami-video-The-life-death-race-outrun-giant-wave.html
It's over 5 minutes long but you will watch it all if you start watching it.
Larry, thank you for that "silent sermon"! What a wise preacher.
I had a post done and lost it....could not get it back.
Sad video, Etta Sue. We are so fortunate to live in our area...tho' the threat of a bad earthquake is always in the air. My heart hurts for all the suffering in our world.
I am spending time resting and should be able to have my surgery tomorrow if things stay ok. Bad virus that is going around the island right now. Even the eye dr. sec. has had it and knew what I was talking about.
The kids just brought me the rest of their surprise gift....Bose Speakers for my new computer. Never did I ever think this person would have Bose Speakers. They are as great as you reported, Etta Sue. I am truly blessed.....and have no idea why.
Larry, do I need Net Framework 4 and Silverlight on my computer? Windows update rec. them, so put both on when doing updates. All this newer tech. is confusing for me....my brain is not working that well at 78. Once was like a mini steel trap....now wouldn't qualify as a bad mouse trap. I am thinking of having a small farwell for my old 9 yr. Sony computer. We have decided to destroy rather than giving to the Sally Ann. It works okay but is pretty slow and SIL doesn't think it is a good idea to recyle. It was such a big part of my life for such a long time.....it is kind of hard to do. You know a lot about windows 7, so will wait for you to respond before removing......They do take up a lot of space.
Stay safe all and God Bless,
Liz
Etta Sue: That was a shocking video. So sad & horrifying.
Larry: Nice example you showed and so true about the life being void when going alone.
Ruth Ann: Just wanted to let you know that your message about 30 years of prayers finally showing some success really helps me. Wishing you more blessings.
JudyB: Nice that she is going to be the the cadets group again after she did put so much effort and time into it previously.
Liz: Prayers for your surgery tomorrow. How nice that you have the Bose speakers.
Tonight is quilting group & it is only a few houses up the street - bible study tomorrow morning and then a little community group in the afternoon of needle work - I am knitting in there. Friday is a lunch for women and I am trying to get two other friends to go with me (my first time).
We have an election coming up and just now there is a debate on TV, got tired of the slinging so came here which is a much better idea.
Larry: About balancing the check book my hubby is hopeless. Just this afternoon he deposited a check in the bank now the rest is my job.
Larry: I like the Silent Sermon.
Judy: Good luck for Kassies going back to cadets.
Marilyn: Are you hidding?
We must be blessed because when Mel sees the spec. he goes for the X-ray then the results are sent instantly to the Dr.
I have about 10 minutes to check on another site, bye bye for this evening
Carol, I understand about the Eagle Scout ceremony--they are very special! Two of our grandsons are Eagle Scouts; and I know it takes years of work and then that last little bit, so many boys sort of fizzle out. Sad, when they are so close to making it! So sorry your husband had to miss it,though. Glad he is feeling better.
I had more phone calls today than I normally get in two weeks! All concerning Mom's passing, the service yesterday, the upcoming memorial service Monday the 18th. And more criticism than I need for years. Sigh........ I know everyone's nerves are frazzled, but so are mine! But God is good, and I will get through this time, too.
My dear friend Pat blessed us by bringing us supper tonight. She is such a blessing in my life. God bless friends!!
I read all the posts, but too tired to comment, sorry. Ruth Ann, your message blessed me.
Janet wrote:
QuoteI read all the posts, but too tired to comment, sorry.
No need to be sorry Janet, Most of us know how you feel. Hang in there, things will get better with time and the help of God. Still praying for you. :)
Beautiful day here today, high of 72° and sun.
Gotta go,running late today.
God Loves YOU!
Hi everyone. It is a cool 46 degrees outside and just discovered we still had our house set for cool and not heat and it is chilly in here as well. Otherwise it is a beautiful day.
We will leave in about 30 minutes to go to the opening ceremony for the Senior Golden Games. They have a nice catered lunch, have a business meeting, some ceremony and after lunch they have door prizes. Again this year they have $25 gift cards as door prizes. They give half of the gift cards away at the Opening ceremony and the other half at the closing ceremony. Tonight is choir practice so that will represent my day today.
Janet, I am shocked that people would criticize you at a time like this. I hope you can just let it go in one ear and out the other. Just because someone says something sure doesn't make it so and it is easy to know what someone else should do when you haven't had to walk in their shoes. Just know that we care very much about you.
Liz, I think you should put silverlight and net framework on your computer as they are used on various websites and programs that you may want to run on your computer. It certainly doesn't hurt anything to have them on your computer. Hope your surgery goes well and glad you didn't have to delay it. I know you will enjoy your Bose speakers.
I am glad that the little piece I shared with you all last evening was meaningful to you. I felt it really got to the heart of the matter.
Today and tomorrow the temperature is to go up to 16*C or 61*F.. Wonderful to have the nice weather back. On the weekend the long range forcast is below zero and a combination of rain and snow. Lovely :ticked:
Janet I am still praying for you and your family. Will continue to do so. <3
I have appointments today, so I will be gone most of the day. Kassie starts a new job this afternoon.

Good morning from Central Indiana where the sun is bright, birds are singing, everything is greening and the temps are just right for this time of year!
Swimming yesterday was very tiring for some reason. When I went to bed, I don't think I moved all night. Like that.
Today is rehab for Ivalou. She says she hopes Jen hurts her so she will feel better. ???
My son, Tony, called last night and I need to stop at Napa and get an oil filter for the Craftsman mower so he can change the oil, filter and grease it sometime. Also my Honda...which I know hasn't had anything done to it since Jerry passed away in 2005 (remember 'The Gabby One' from SrNet?) Remember I got a new battery put in it last year and it started right off so I now have two mowers?!!
Then we will go find us something to eat and come home.
Tonight is our last session of Wednesday Night Live. I will miss listening to Andy Stanley. He needs a TV show so everyone can hear him if they wish.

Hello all my CP friends. No Ruth I am not hiding I have been here every day more than a few times.
I am taking lesson on building a web site using web sets. I have lesson 1 completed and up on the server, however the server is moving today so no one can get to my site to see the first two pages.
We are having a problem with one of the cats. The outdoor cat that adopted us a couple of years ago has taking to attacking Fritzy for no reason. all we can figure out is he is jealous or doesn't want to play. I don't think he knows how to just play. Last night he jumped off my lap and stood on the floor meowing loudly, then he decided to attack Bebe who was just standing there looking at him.
We have to go on vacation a month early this year because I waited tool long to make the reservations, so we are going in the middle of May instead of the end of June. Every thing is booked solid until October and it will be too cold then.
Janet I am appalled that someone is criticizing you at this time . How insensitive that someone would do that.
Etta Sue I did go to the Photo club's website and look at quite a few of the photos.Gee I think some of my photos are just a good as some of those.
Pat I am glad to hear that you've got internet at the house in VA now.
Heading to bed folks. Sleepless nights has taken their toll so I am hoping to gget a good rest tonight.
Has anyone heard from Kevin? Wondering how things are going for him.
God bless you all.
Good Morning!
1Ch 16:10 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
Have A Blessed day And remember God Loves YOU!
Good morning everyone!
Judy, I hope you got a good rest last night. I know how sleepless night can just drain every bit of energy.
The sun is shining today and we may get near 50 again. Amazing the difference in only a couple of weeks.

Today is my high school class luncheon. I miss seeing all these people but it seems it is the same 10-12 people all the time. The others don't know what they are missing.
It is bright and sunny and if my enthusiasm remains, I plan to mow the lawn when I get back from the luncheon. I went to the gas station last evening. Car filled with gas + lawn mower gas = $64!! WOW! Gas was $3.96.9 a gallon! And my car is only a 13+ gallon tank! ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

Hi everyone. It is truly a beautiful day here in Georgia with very low humidity. I just got back from going to Atlanta to pick up my daughter as she is spending the night with us. She needs to get away from her apartment occasionally and enjoy spending a night here. She usually is ready to go home the next morning. She says the place on her foot is just about healed. She is using the transport chair to get around here in the house. She can use the cane and slowly push backward with her good foot and the cane. I hope this works well as she doesn't need to be walking on her bad foot.
Pat and I had a good time yesterday at the opening ceremony for the Senior Golden Games. They had a very nice catered luncheon and a group of singers from the volunteer corp at one of the hospitals. There must have been between 30 and 40 singers. They sang some of the old songs and it was very enjoyable.
Last night we had a very good choir practice and are ready for singing two special pieces for Palm Sunday.
Nothing else planned for today other to rest and visit with our daughter.
Etta Sue, hope you have a good turnout for you class luncheon. Your gasoline is about 35 cents a gallon higher than what we are paying but it is going up all the time. It is at least 10 cents higher per gallon than it was a week ago.
Marilyn, it sounds like a battle royal between the cat and the other animals.
Hello Everyone...
Yes, it's kind of nice to be sitting in the easy chair in the living room and being online. I think we have to be careful with our usage though as each click on a new page gets counted. And we're allowed so many clicks in the month.
John just called. He did his first school as a Road Knight. It was a school of grade 7 - 8's and he took them all to his truck. THey had a blast getting in the seat, the boys especially, and looking around the truck. I can just imagine the thoughts as the fellows sat in the seat pretending to be truck drivers!
Our weather is terrible. Yesterday was 61*F today it is down to 37*F and on the weekend we are to have snow.
Have to go get some work done!
Pat that is use a different way to charge you for the internet usage. You will sure have to be careful.
Judy I bet those boys had a blast, but I wouldn't put it past the girls wanting to be truck drivers too. I have always wanted to drive an 18 wheeler. That should be on my Bucket list of things I want to do before I die.
Larry we have to really watch that cat every time he comes in the house, it keeps us on our toes.
Keith got a call from his Doctor son, Craig, last night to tell Keith is is going to be a grand father for the very first time. I'm telling you know that Keith could not stop grinning and talking about the call.
Pat, that sounds frustrating! What happens if you click more than allotted? Does email count? And is there a chance you could have "roll over clicks" when you're both in Guelph?
Interesting about the clicks....how can one keep track? Do you use a counter like I did for my golf score.....Not that it got that high! Lets just say I had no birdies or eagles. More like sparrows and crows ;) Not to be spiteful but sure was glad that Tiger Woods lost his Mojo and is fading into the background.
Eye surgery went well yest. and saw the Dr. this morning and all is okay. Except I only see well out of one eye at the moment. But that vision has improved so much, can hardly wait until the 2nd eye kicks in...Will see him in a week for final check.
It is another rain and chill day here on the island. Misty is once again asleep inside. I got in on some badly needed clothes shopping at a store that Wendy and I love. It is closing after so many years, all the stores, here and in the States. Tabi stores are one of the few that still carry quality at a reasonable price and will be badly missed.
Had time to do some praying for Larry and Janet's daughters as it is a long ride to town. Also for others on the site. I hope that this person never gets too confused mentally to pray.
We are going to have another election coming next month. Wish people would simply settle down and support the gov. that they already elected. I don't like politics!
Took your advise about the computer, Larry. Discovered a Windows 7 site on Sr. & Fr. and happy to learn others also get a little confused.
Does anyone understand what all the talk is about the yr. 2012? Heard comments about some great change coming to our planet. Guess it might be a good idea to search and read on the subject. I have been ignoring a lot of stuff lately.
Time to go. Virus is still making me tired and doesn't want to leave. Take care and God Bless.
Liz
It has been a busy time for us ongoing doctors appointments which is difficult to keep track of unless written down.
This afternoon I went for the meet and greet for the new family Dr. I am almost certain the change will take place he seems to be caring Mel has a visit with him in 2 wks which will make the decision clear. It will be a change from what we have had for years but it will also be a very good one I feel. Just as I was leaving he asked if I was in need of meds.
Four of us went out for Chinese a lovely visit and the diner as always was tasty.
Not many wks. ago a new double bed was purchased from a large name company, we had the first replaced with another paying $50.00 for delivery and if it was not satisfactory to bad, still not happy with this one either it is like a board. Today I called their head office explaining how I feel and also I will not be speaking well of them. An exchange was offered if I upgrade I pay the extra cost and if I go the otherway I loose and I would still have to pay for the delivery this is no deal. I went out this afternoon a factory that deals in foam for beds etc. and ordered a piece I hope will do the job.
Liz and Ruth, so sorry about your frustrations. Those times are not fun.
I have had a really stressful day, more phone calls re Mom's service, more complaints. :(
This afternoon I went to check on Beth, as she was in a lot of pain yesterday. Well, I looked at her and asked what was going on? She had huge red places on both arms, both legs, then spots the size of quarters on her neck, chest, face and scalp. I asked for a nurse to come look; finally got the DON who said, "What's that? Her arm is swollen, too!" Upshot was I wanted a doctor to see her TODAY, and I wasn't going to leave until that was done. They called, tried to get her in today, no luck, so called transportation to take her to the ER. Of course, I went along, and finally the doctor came in. He looked at her and said it looked like hives to him. Ordered blood tests and two shots, plus Benadryl to take orally. Then they are to call the doctor again tomorrow to report how she is doing. By the time we took her back and I got home, it was 6:00. Not the way I had planned to spend my day............
Do you lovely people have any idea how much I value and appreciate your prayers? You are all so special.
Larry, I'm glad Stacey feels enough better to come for a visit. Give her my love.
I am really weary, it will be an early night for me.
Hi everyone. Soon be time to head to the Senior Center for the Friday morning men's coffee. After that I will take our daughter back to her apartment. We have had a nice visit and she utilized the transport chair we have here to get around and stay off her foot. By using a cane and her good foot she can push the chair backwards slowly and go where she wants to go. Since our house isn't large that is doable and should allow her to come out at least once a month. We try to see her every two weeks and will go there and have lunch and visit with her on the two week cycle when she doesn't come out here. Her foot is healing but not there yet. She will see the foot doctor on Tuesday for another check.
We are suppose to be in for more bad weather late tonight. This will be the third Friday in a row with bad weather. So far we have been fortunate in our area with no damage.
Janet, so sorry to hear that Beth has the hives and sure they are very unpleasant. Do you suppose the anxiety of losing her grandmother and all that has involved contributed to them. Hope they are better today.
Ruth, too bad about the mattress situation. We were fortunate to buy new mattresses that we really enjoy. They are adjustable and I make very good use of that feature. My sister and BIL recently went through something like you are experiencing. Guess they finally got that resolved.
Liz, itg seems that so many stores are going out of business. About the only stores opening new in our area are places to eat and some of those don't last. Glad to hear of your eye operation results.
Judy, did John enjoy his time with the students? It sounds like the students enjoyed it. I assume he has his new truck to use.
Pat, glad you finally were able to get Internet in Virginia. Don't think I have heard of click limitations. They are introducing bandwidth usage limits in our area but they are high enough that it should bother too much unless you do a lot of streaming.
Time to get the day started.
Larry Yes he got the new truck Wednesday evening. Apparently the ride is better tnan the other trucks he has driven and much quieter.
Another cold day here, Our friends ae still getting sap from the maple trees and this sap is darker and much more "maple" in taste.
Be back later.
Figured I would stop in and let you know that we haven't blown away YET! Given time we still very well might. We have 60 mph wind gusts today with sustained winds at 40mph. We got a little bit of a sprinkle yesterday but not much. Still need rain we are very dry and if a fire starts today then it will be way out of control and burn very quickly because of the winds. I hope everyone is doing well but i must be off to get some of the house cleaned and study for my certification tests tomorrow have a good day everyone.
Sarah

There were 10 at the class luncheon. Same ol' group with one couple missing. But still a good time. The next meeting will be at Cornerstone Inn in Nashville, IN. (Where the Woman's Retreat was)
And I got the yard mowed. My yard is terrible looking. Mole runs, bare spots, corn husks and shucks everywhere. Worse than I have ever seen it. But it will either have to grow back on its own or remain bare spots.
I am Instant Messaging with my friend in Mexico. He is trying to scare me in saying that this afternoon will be extremely bad weather here in Indiana. I have never feared storms. I just know to not be out in one if at all possible. But I may be today IF his weather report is true. I can't believe weather men on TV so why do I want to believe Rex who is looking at Google Earth in Mexico? He says high winds, low temps and thunderstorms. Looking outside right now, it is cloudy but no a twig is moving and dry. Calm before the storm...maybe, maybe not.
Today is rehab at 1:30. Then eat somewhere. I need an oil filter from NAPA and then to WalMart for groceries and whatever else we find that we can't live without!
ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

I have been reading. The question that I am pondering is "What am I willing to sacrifice for a closer relationship with Christ?" He sacrificed his life for me, what am I willing to sacrifice. To not eat or loose sleep is common...that is not sacrifice. What I have been reading is that sacrifice is hard, Christ's sacrifice on the cross was unbelievably hard for him and looking at Him on the cross should be extremely hard for us. Yet so many are so blase about it. Yes our victory is in his resurrection, but the cross is where he sacrificed His life. Am I prepared to give my life for Him??? Just pondering.
Well said Judy!
Etta Sue where do you go to your Red meetings. Ann Stalls in Indiana was sking me where my friend went after I told her I had a friend in Lapel.
well our windspeeds are outrageous near 70 mph from some reports. We have firemen out fighting fires requesting prayers for them and the safety of all the people whose homes may be in the path of this fire has already moved a good 9 to 10 miles in a matter of 15 minutes i do believe :(... prayers requested please for the men out fighting the people in harms way and for RAIN
Here I sit at the kitchen table! Isn't that marvelous? I am looking out at the hill behind the house and there were at least 20 deer this morning and then a few more later. They seem to stick right in the tree line and when they venture out of the trees onto the grassy area, they realize that there are people in this house and they gallop away. I tried to get some photos but they are fast!!
Paul is changing his snow tires from his car and changing the oil for our journey next Thursday back to Canada. He's also going to try to get the lawn cut.
I was going to use up some buttermilk to make some Wheaten Bread but there's no baking soda in the cupboard so that stops that idea. :(
I'll be back.
Nice pondering thoughts, Judy. ;)
I got this in my email today and thought it would be good to share with your all:
Be a Witness
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
--Acts 1:8
God gave my friend Jennifer a burden for waitresses. Once every two weeks, Jennifer and her Christian friends regularly meet for lunch, but before they choose a restaurant, they pray. Once it's decided where to lunch, they sit down and strike up a friendly chat with the waitress. They learn her name and ask for her suggestions from the menu.
Jennifer and her friends visit the same restaurant at least five times, asking the maitre d' that they be given the same waitress. After so many luncheons, the women become friends with the waitress and invite her to church. Jennifer and her friends have been witnessing this way for years and after visiting scores of restaurants-and as many waitresses-they have seen fifteen women come to Christ.
Jennifer is only doing what's required of her from Acts 1:8, so we shouldn't think she's amazing. But what is amazing is her creativity. She and her friends not only have fun together over lunch, but they make an outreach of it. Waitresses are, in fact, their main reason for getting together.
No matter where we go or whom we meet, we can have an effective outreach for Christ in our community. No, Jennifer will never organize a group called "Eating Out for Jesus," or plan a budget or print up brochures. But she will keep on doing what comes naturally: being a witness for the Lord.
Lord Jesus, I want to be a witness for You today. I want to tell others of Your love. Show me new ways to share Your Gospel with others and use me to make a difference in my community.
Blessings,
Joni and Friends

Etta Sue that was supposed to read Red Hat meetings.
Sarahm... I am praying for the firemen and those in the path of the fire....and for RAIN!! May God keep them safe!!
We are waiting on the storms heading east today. Sure hope they lose some of their kick before they get here.
Why worry when we can trust!
Have a great day everyone.
God Loves You!
I tried to post yesterday, my machine shut down just as I was finishing, and POOF! all gone.... :(
My prayers and requests are the same as Sarah's....horrible winds and terrible drought conditions here, and over a several states area. Seems to be pretty calm today, praise God.
I am very busy preparing for Mom's memorial service on Monday morning, trying to remember the myriad details concerning that. Since we didn't do the normal funeral thing, we got no book, no folders for the service, no help setting up flowers, etc. All left up to Jeanie and me....plus I have to get this house cleaned up and ready for at least six overnight guests. That should keep me out of mischief for a while!
Pat, I love that from Joni. Want to comment further, but pressed for time today.
Praise God for Grandsons! Mark came up last night and got the old computer I am writing the book on to work with the wireless printer, so I printed out what I have so far and can now take and read to Beth. Plus---he installed the office program Don and Larry suggested on the laptop for me. And this morning he solved the problem of why I couldn't get online...over the phone. He came up last night for the fixes, and I was so happy to take him to supper as a thanks.
I must run, love you all......
Hi everyone. We escaped any damage in the storms last night. All evening the weather people were warning of the bad weather. One of the stations has such sophisticated radar and software that they can actually show you want is happening and predict when the storm will reach each location in its path. We got a lot of rain but not the wind and hail some areas got. It is a beautiful day today.
Not much on the schedule for today.
Don, I hope the storms when they reach you will have lost some of the power as they were mighty storms. There were still tornado warnings out for the area about 50 miles from here when I got up this morniing. Our rain has ended and it is trying to clear off so we are seeing a bit of sun.
Pat, deer are very plentiful in our area as well. Unfortunately they want to cross the road at night and there are often dear struck by a car. It sounds like you have a beautiful view from your kitchen window.
Sarah, those fires sound very frightening.
Janet, you are one busy lady. I don't know how you do it all. Glad Mark was able to help you with the computer problems.
As a child I remember there was an ink blotter Mom had, It said "Worry is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but doesn't get you any where." Yes trusting God does get you somewhere.
Janet an observation.......The ones who are critical are the ones who didn't contribute till after all arrangements were made? There are too many people like that. You have done your best for your Mom and you can rest in that. I am praying. I pray your work load lightens and you are able to get some rest.
Kassie and John have gone to the Maple Syrup festival. It was my choice to stay home. I have more reading to do.
Be back later,
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FBabyWinking.gif&hash=11715f03dec355fcbae464f08697d21b0c38b3c5)
Janet ~ It sounds like it will be a nice memorial for your Mom. I have found that those who criticize are the ones who feel guilty for not being with their loved one or there to help you. I have always been taught that before you criticize or complain, you should have a solution first. That's in every day life and in business. You have done good. I am sure your conscience is clear. That's what matters.
Marilyn ~ We haven't had Red Hats since Ivalou's stroke. There were only 5 of us and all but me are not in the best of health. Doubt if we ever do it again. Red Hats has kind of died out here. Where is your friend in Indiana?
Well, it rained yesterday afternoon...gentle rain. Not bad at all. I looked at Google Earth last evening and decided to go to bed early since it looked bad and figured I would be up later in the night. This is what I learned. Google Earth may be right but I don't know how to read those patterns...and neither does my friend in Mexico. If it rained, lightening-ed, or thunder-ed in the night, I didn't hear it. My drive was dry so that meant no rain. It is cloudy right now but the sun is trying to peek out. Dark clouds to the north and northwest.
So like Don says, trust in the Lord. You sure can't, and I am so glad this is true, trust the weather reports on TV or Google Earth or a friend in Mexico!!
Ivalou is scheduled for rehab through the month of May now. An hour session each day at 1:30 on Mon, Wed and Fri. I can't take her the last Wed and Fri in May...I hope to be in Nashville, IN, with my classmates. Ivalou said she is hoping that she will feel okay to drive across Noblesville by then. For her sake, I hope so but it is so nice to feel needed.
And I need to be witnessing to waitresses. I sure eat out a lot! So why not do something for the Lord at the same time!!
Kaye Don and Barb are to be home from Florida today or tomorrow. Things will be different around here then.
Doing some laundry today and need to make Spaghetti Slaw for Small Groups tomorrow evening.a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m.

Something to make you laugh
A DEA officer stopped at a ranch in Texas , and talked with an old rancher.
He told the rancher, "I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs."
The rancher said, "Okay , but don't go in that field over there.....", as he pointed out the location.
The DEA officer verbally exploded saying, " Mister, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me !"
Reaching into his rear pants pocket, he removed his badge and proudly displayed it to the rancher.
"See this badge?! This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish.... On any land !!
No questions asked or answers given!! Have I made myself clear......do you understand ?!!"
The rancher nodded politely, apologized, and went about his chores.
A short time later, the old rancher heard loud screams, looked up, and saw the DEA officer running for his life, being chased by the rancher's big Santa Gertrudis bull......
With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it seemed likely that he'd sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified.
The rancher threw down his tools, ran to the fence and yelled at the top of his lungs.....
(I just love this part....)
"Your badge, show him your BADGE........ ! !"
Pat: What a beautiful and tranquil scene from your kitchen. Now you are getting in the car and making a return trip? Busy busy.
JudyB: Good story
Janet: Don't pay attention to those who criticize you - good grief, they are usually the ones who sit back and do nothing when real help is needed.
Praying for everyone.
Two sons are taking me to a late brunch tomorrow - Don is still in Minnesota and they had a snowstorm/sleet storm yesterday.
Have a wonderful Sunday.
:) Good late evening to all. Today the 16th. we had major rain and very heavy but nothing like what has happened through out the U.S.A. with the terrible hurricanes and very heavy winds. We need to pray for all the people who have lost everything and some people killed. Then there will be flooding so it is a terrible time .
Pt: Thanks for the post that you put in very interesting. I am so happy for you that you are able to go on your computer from your home in Virginia. Have a safe trip back to Guelph.
To all others have a wonderful day in the Lord's house.God's Richest blessing's to all and Love in Christ. Gord and Noreen. :cp:
Well, someone I'm needing to support by phone talked so long, I'm now the first poster on this Palm Sunday.
I'll make it short. I finally was able to read the posts between calls, blood sugar lows, etc. Now, I'm taking my jaw/tooth/ear ache ??? to be with some tylenol and a heating pad. Since we are promised that He Who keepeth Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps (as I interpret that, I understand it means those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him cricified and risen).
One fearful night when I realized I'd be the head of my 4-children household very soon, I was given this verse, and relaxed, knowing the our Lord neither goes to bed to sleep, nor even takes naps! Therefore, I can rest at night leaving Him in charge. What a comforting thought.
Love and prayers,
Ruth Ann
Ruth Ann, since I am up early today, praying about what to say in a tribute to my Mom tomorrow, I just added comfort and healing for YOU to my prayers. Bless you, my friend.
Thank you all for your encouragement. And you are right, the critics are those who hadn't even visited mom in months or even years. I am feeling better now, as I slept well last night, and Beth was better yesterday, even though the hives are still red and itching. I told her maybe we should be thankful her hands aren't working right now, as if they were, she might not have any skin left on her! But to itch and not be able to scratch is really frustrating!
I took the 57 pages I printed out of her book and read to her for an hour. She really likes it, so that's a good sign. I am feeling really strongly that I need to get the book finished as soon as possible, and I believe that is from God. Please join me in praying this book will bring glory to His name. Thanks.
I'm really looking forward to seeing my sister Shirley this evening. We have much to talk about, and she is so excited about her upcoming trip to Africa for missions. She was called to go to Africa as a missionary when she was 14! The gifts and callings of God are without repentence! Sixty years means nothing to God, He calls and He enables! She really wanted me to go with her, but I have prayed about it and feel that I am to support her financially, pray for her, but not go at this time, even though I want to. Trust and obey, for there's no other way....
Etta Sue, I agree....wouldn't it be great if people waited until they had a solution, to criticize?
Blessings to all of you...Janet

Good morning. Looks to be a sunny day today in Indiana. It hasn't been sunny for a few days now. The temps are cool...only 40 degrees right now. And a little bit of breeze.
For some reason I was chilled all night. First I was hot. Turned on the ceiling fan. Then turned it off. Finally was sleeping real good when the alarm went off. Isn't that the case?
At church I am running the projector system again today and then I have a reprieve for 8 weeks. After Sunday School the local Lions Club is having a pancake breakfast so I imagine we will go for pancakes. Must remember to take my peanut butter. Pancakes, waffles and French toast just aren't pancakes, waffles and French toast without peanut butter instead of butter!
Then tonight is Small Groups. I may make some Coconut Macaroons this afternoon but if not, I will take Spaghetti Slaw for my portion of food to have. >^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<

Hi everyone. Another beautiful day here for Palm Sunday. I am ready for church but it will be a while before we leave. I had one of my exhausted days yesterday and rested a lot, went to bed early and didn't even feel up to reading as I usually do but went to sleep listening to music.
I am boxing up the Netbook computer we have and will send it to our son and DIL in the morning to see if they can benefit from it. It was not being used here and I don't anticipate it would be. I usually can't find the right sized box but did have one broken down that I put back together and it is just right with the padding to protect the computer.
Janet, I will be thinking of you tomorrow. I don't believe I could have gotten through doing a tribute to my folks as am just too emotional. I breakdown just listening to others do it. Fortunately, in the area where I came from this was not a general practice although it sure is here. I have heard some wonderful tributes given. I know God will hold you in his hands throughout the day. Sorry to hear of the itching that Beth continues to experience. I can't imagine itching and not being able to scratch it.
Etta Sue, I never heard of someone using peanut butter on pancakes or French toast. I know you will be happy to see your brother when he drives in from Florida.
Ruth Ann, hope the tylonol and heat help resolve the pain. Sure doesn't sound like a nice way to spend Palm Sunday.
Gord, this has been one powerful storm that has done terrible devastation. Last night I heard it had created over 200 tornados and probably still counting. We feel blessed that no one lost their life here in Georgia.
Carol, guess you have some quiet quilting time with Don away. Enjoy the brunch.
Judy, funny story. Sometimes our authority can go to our heads and we don't make wise decisions by listening to others around us.
Our choir is singing two Palm Sunday anthems today, including one from the Messiah. I am looking forward to it. We always have palm branches to carry as we process and the children also process on this special Sunday.
Well we didn't get the snow yestr=erday. We got it last night and today. The white stuff that fel last night melted off not sure about todays dumping,
I will be back later
Good Morning from Oregon, this day the rain is supposed to stop and the sun shine, so far so good, no rain and it is getting brighter but the sun hasn't broken through the clouds yet.
Janet I pray that Beth's hives leave very soon, she must be miserable not being able to scratch the itch. I will keep you in my prayers for your tribute tomorrow and that the Lord will stop the mouths of the people who have criticized you. You are moving right along with Beth's book.
Etta Sue I love peanut butter and have used it as a topper on ice cream, but I have never heard of putting it on waffles and french toast. I bet it's good that way. I also put it on toast in the morning.
Ruth Ann hope you are feeling better today and that your tooth,/ear/jaw ache are gone.
Hi Carol, Judy, Pat, Don and Gord. I hope I didn't leave anyone out.
Wow, that rest was just what the Doctor above ordered. The pain was greatly diminished, and after worship I was able to eat broiled fish, black-eyed peas and sliced tomatoes! What a great "break-fast" it was, and with loving church family friends, too.
Janet, our prayers will go with you to keep you comfort, beneath you to hold you up, before you to help tyou find the way Our Father would have you handle your mom's memorial, and with others that their eyes will be opened to God's love and healing on them, as well. We plan to leave the opening above your head as an open window for God's blessings to rain on you with grace and strength.
Love to all, Ruth Ann
